[2:14] support the American system by paying wages, reporting worker earnings, and

[2:18] withholding federal employment taxes. And whereas payroll professionals in

[2:23] Hopen Estates, Illinois, play a key role in maintaining the economic health of

[2:27] Hopen Estates, carrying out such diverse tasks as paying into the unemployment

[2:31] insurance system, providing information for child support enforcement, and

[2:34] carrying out tax withholding, reporting, and depositing. And whereas payroll

[2:38] departments collectively spend more than 2.4 trillion annually complying with the

[2:43] myriad of federal and state wages and tax laws. And whereas payroll

[2:47] professionals play an increasingly important role in ensuring the economic

[2:50] security of American families by helping to identify non-custodial parents and

[7:23] week. I sent in a report on Friday about a very very large beehive that has

[7:28] formed on the tree in the corner of Castaway in Dukesbury.

[7:32] My daughter is pretty scared of bees and was avoiding the area. They called me

[7:35] first thing Monday and said they found it. Reached out to a contractor to have

[7:39] it removed. then emailed me this morning to make sure I saw they were taking care

[7:44] of it. Also, um I was in receipt of a great phone call from Mayor Michelle

[7:51] Nelson of Flashmore. Our public works department came out to

[7:55] help them after a bad storm that they had for several days and she was very

[7:59] very grateful. I know Mr. Palm also uh received a uh letter from her. And we

[8:08] got another one. Public works. Again, I think I get tired of being you guys

[8:14] being praised in public works. I guess you never do though. And it's well

[8:18] earned. Dear Bill, on behalf of the village of Streamwood and our affected

[8:22] residents, I want to thank you and your community for assisting our public works

[8:26] department with the June branch pickup after highintensity storm event on June

[8:30] 24th. Office public works director, Mr. Joseph Neville offered to help us with

[8:36] staff and equipment and your municipality provided essential manpower

[8:40] and resources to assist our crews. With your help, we were able to clean up an

[8:44] opposing amount of hazardous branches and trees for our residents. We are

[8:49] thankful to know that we have good neighbors and municipal government who

[8:51] are willing to assist in these extraordinary events at a moment's

[8:55] notice. Our village is grateful of the assistance rendered. The village of

[8:59] Streamwood stands ready to return the favor when needed. Thank you again for

[9:03] your community's timely and appreciated support in our time of need. U public

[9:09] works does mutual aid just like the police and fire do. So that's a great

[9:14] program and kudos to all you guys and please pass on that praise.

[9:19] Um we haven't met in a while. So going back a little bit, uh we swore in a fire

[9:25] captain, Craig Olsen on August 19th and we swore in three firefighters that day.

[9:30] Also on Wednesday, Wednesday, August 19th, I

[9:34] attended a pay suburban bus board meeting and thanks for everybody for

[9:39] cover the senior lunchon attended US conference of Mayor's climate mayor's

[9:44] webinar and um on that evening we had wine

[9:48] Wednesday which is very well attended. On the 22nd of August, the village had

[9:55] their annual recycling event at the public works building and we had a block

[9:59] party on Britany Lane up on the north side and I attended uh to read a

[10:05] proclamation the 50th anniversary party for Lynn and Benjamin Bran. Both worked

[10:11] uh many years for Shamre District 54 and they're a great couple and it was a

[10:18] pleasure to to do that. On Sunday the 23rd, I attended a engagement party for

[10:25] [clears throat] Harry Gman's son. He's the owner of the Chicago Marriott

[10:30] Northwest and that was a great party. Got to sat next to a member of

[10:35] parliament from Canada. There are people from all over the the world at this

[10:40] event. It was spectacular. On Monday the 24th, I attended the North National

[10:46] League Cities Transportation Infrastructure Services Committee

[10:49] meeting. On the 25th, uh Franny and Dan, Franny's the dog that you who runs to

[10:59] meet the mailman Dan every day. She's been doing it for a thousand runs. So,

[11:05] this was the thousandth run on Wednesday the 26th. Um we swore in

[11:13] some police officers also and then civilist went over and met with

[11:18] uh Ralph Zucker from Bill Works talked about what was going on with Bill Works.

[11:24] And on that evening the 26th I attended the Hello Hoffman summer hang in South

[11:30] Ridge Park. Bill Green always does such a great job on that. He's he's an

[11:34] amazing amazing guy. And on th Thursday the 27th

[11:40] I attended a couple of CMAT meetings, a committee meeting, two of them. And um

[11:46] on the 28th um George and I met with Arun Roy and Betty Carile from

[11:55] Vistex over at their cafeteria they have over there. It's a great restaurant.

[12:00] It's open to the public, too. Saturday the 29th, we attend a block party on

[12:04] Newcastle Lane. And uh on the first I had a mayor for

[12:10] Dave, Bob Gravin, was a longtime uh resident Shamburgg and now lives in

[12:16] Hoffman Estates and was very happy here. So we did the usual mayor for the day

[12:20] stuff. He attended meetings and met with the various departments and went through

[12:25] their buildings. And on the 2nd of September, we had the

[12:29] Northwest Municipal Cars Executive Board meeting and attend the Economic

[12:33] Development Commission of the village that afternoon.

[12:37] And then September 3rd, um we met with a group that's doing a um

[12:45] girls school in the old WT building. And I guess their permits are now ready,

[12:51] so they can pick them up and uh get finished working on that building. and

[12:56] they wanted to start and oh this one is a little bit delayed but uh and on the

[13:02] 4th I attended a uh climate mayor's meeting conference this the north the US

[13:08] conference of mayors rather on the 6th Saturday the 6th we attended a block

[13:14] party at Hudson and the 7th we had the September fest

[13:19] parade and today we had the county update with

[13:23] the president prickwickle's office in emergency management and response. And

[13:28] we had a welcome lunch for the new doctoral students for health and human

[13:31] services. And um we had a meeting of the uh

[13:37] foundation focusing on next year's uh golf outing for the benefit of health

[13:43] and human services. And that's all I have for now. Um Trusty

[15:06] amazing and fun as always. Uh after doing that for about 19 years, it's like

[15:14] the parade. Um, I also attended the Hudson Drive uh block party with many of

[15:19] you, which uh was fun and very festive. Uh, they had a lot of things happening

[15:24] out there and a lot of people attending and the kids and water balloons and all

[15:28] kinds of stuff. Um, [clears throat] last Wednesday I played the in the charity

[15:32] golf outing for special uh leisure services foundation uh which was very

[15:37] warm but great weather and uh it's always fun to support that charity for

[15:42] Northwest Suburban Recreation Association uh and just Special Olympics

[15:48] in general and then plots concert's here. Uh so after many meetings to plan

[15:53] the event we were looking forward to a great event. I also wanted to let you

[15:57] know that um we've joined up with the truck convoy uh which happened Saturday

[16:01] morning. I don't uh I don't want that to be left unsaid because that thing's

[16:07] pretty awesome. And they're going to do some kind of driveby. I don't know where

[16:11] and on what roads, but um [clears throat]

[16:13] » well, they go through they go through the business park anyway, so that makes

[16:16] sense. >> But I know Ben and John Bending have it

[16:19] all figured out. So, uh, so that's going to be in addition to, uh, all the other

[16:34] deputy grand knight of the Knights of Columbus, my night schedule has, uh,

[16:38] gotten a lot busier. Um, on August 20th, I attended a Knights of Columbus Knights

[16:44] of the Sword meeting. On uh September 1st, I attended Knights of Columbus ID

[16:51] uh drive meeting. Our ID drive is our uh annual Tootsie Roll drive for persons

[16:56] with intellectual disabilities. This year will be happening on September 18th

[17:01] and 19th. So if you see our people out there, uh please uh give generously. All

[17:06] of the money we collect goes right back to those programs. Uh on the September

[17:10] 3rd, I attended a Knights of Columbus planning meeting. Um, over this past

[17:15] weekend, I volunteered uh to assist the Lions with their bingo tent uh at

[17:20] September Fest. It's their largest uh fundraiser uh during the year. Uh and I

[17:26] also uh walked the parade with Trustee Palafus. We had a lot of fun on

[17:31] September Fest and a lot of clowning around between the two of us, but it was

[17:35] a great event. So, that's all I have, Mayor.

[18:53] later on the 26th I stopped at the South Ridge Park for the Hello Hoffman summer

[18:59] hang. On the 29th of August I stopped by for the block party at 1315 Newcastle

[19:05] Lane. Then on the 2nd of September I attended and uh chaired the economic

[19:10] development commission meeting and on the 7th yesterday we attended the

[19:15] Shamberg September Fest parade. And that's it.

[24:56] there are some available fines in our um resolution that we have right now. Um if

[26:39] thought it would I thought it would look a lot neater and better that if we just

[26:43] made the fence you know incorporated both in the same time it would just be a

[26:48] cleaner look for us and for the neighborhood.

[26:59] and I won't say that I won't approve it, but I just don't approve of the method

[27:02] of how you did it. >> Yeah, been preferable to ask to try to

[27:07] get a variation on it to talk to the code people.

[27:13] » Yeah, and I can speak during the meeting. Of course, we did bring that

[27:16] up. Um again if you look at the finding effects um you know we put in there

[27:20] definitely where it is higher uh there is a grading different differential and

[27:25] uh obviously the deck played a big factor in that because even if it was 6

[27:29] foot the deck would have been another 4t the part of that portion. So you know

[27:34] you can see some of the old pictures. So we did review that as a committee and uh

[27:38] again one of the recommending conditions is this is only one section that can be

[27:42] at that 10 ft not the entire 6 ft. So there is some uh extra you know bullet

[27:48] points within that variation too and I believe correct there's a cost to the

[27:52] even the uh putting in a a variation. Correct.
