[1:41] went over the budget lots of mowing there of course like everybody mow every

[2:26] then other than that, I got a phone call from an AMA business person

[2:31] uh a year out from now. They're looking that they're starting to do this study.

[2:35] They wanted to do what would be like an AMA block party with six businesses on

[2:40] the street and u one they wanted to know and I wasn't sure how to answer it.

[2:47] Would it be possible to close the street for this block party?

[9:40] prevention and control over here in Iowa County and um, also work in substance

[9:46] use in Johnson County. So, wanted to support this. We've been kind of going

[9:49] around to different meetings. So, thanks for having us. Yeah.

[9:55] » Yeah. So our proclamation um as part of national recovery month for September

[9:59] 2026 whereas behavioral health is an

[10:03] essential part of overall health and well-being whereas substance use and

[10:07] mental health challenges affect individuals, families, workplaces,

[10:11] schools and communities regardless of region or background. Whereas substance

[10:15] use and mental health disorders are preventable and treatable health

[10:18] conditions from which people can and do recover. Whereas National Recovery Month

[10:23] is observed each September to celebrate the millions of people living in

[10:26] recovery from substance use and mental health disorders, recognizing the

[10:30] families and communities who support them, and promoting the message that

[10:33] recovery is possible. Whereas stigma remains one of the greatest barriers

[10:37] preventing people from seeking help, accessing treatment, and sustaining

[10:40] recovery. Whereas public leaders, employers, schools, and residents all

[10:45] have a role to play in building communities where people can ask for

[10:48] help without shame. Whereas this observance provides an opportunity to

[10:52] celebrate people in recover in recovery, honor the people we have lost, support

[10:57] families and loved ones, and raise awareness of the effective prevention,

[11:00] treatment, and recovery services that are available in our community. And now

[11:05] therefore, it be resolved that the Iowa County Board of Supervisors do hereby

[11:09] proclaim that September 2026 is recovery month in Iowa County and call upon our

[11:14] community to celebrate recovery, reduce the stigma, and support individuals and

[11:19] families affected by substance use and mental health challenges. And lastly,

[11:22] work together to ensure that recovery is understood, accessible, and supported.
