[5:09]
Yeah. Go.
>> Ready. Good morning. Welcome to the
[5:12]
Kingsburg Downtown uh business
improvement district advisory board
[5:16]
meeting. This is a special meeting this
morning. This is Thursday, May 12th. Our
[5:20]
start time is 8:03.
Um,
[5:27]
first item is we're going to approve the
agenda to better accommodate members of
[5:30]
the public.
>> Thank you. Second.
[5:32]
» Second.
>> All those in favor?
[5:34]
» I. Any opposed? Public comment provides
an opportunity for members of the public
[5:38]
to address the board. Do we have any
public comment at this time?
[5:42]
» Nope. Moving on to our regular count
calendar. Um, this is brought to you
[5:49]
folks by me, Chairperson Carpenter. Um,
uh, Quinn came to us and the chamber and
[5:57]
asked if we would be interested in
co-sponsoring Calaphoria to help promote
[6:02]
the Kingsburg Chamber of Commerce
downtown area, Kingsburg Swedish
[6:06]
Festival. It's a cost of $500. He's
doing reals, posts, and he is info
[6:13]
sharing with Quinn. So there's current
and last year's and it's a $500 cost and
[6:20]
the Chamber of Commerce asked if we
would cost share of 250 each. So that's
[6:25]
why we're meeting. So I'm going to I'm
going to make the proposal that we uh or
[6:29]
the motion that we cost share to the uh
amount of $250 with the Chamber of
[6:34]
Commerce to help promote Swedish
Festival.
[6:36]
» Second.
>> Before we vote, can we have discussion?
[6:39]
» Sure.
>> Just quick discussion. Can we guide them
[6:42]
into content that is um ba like
yesterday's basically like not specific
[6:49]
to any certain business?
>> Last last year the content was just
[6:55]
restaurants and it was seven restaurants
and five of them were in the bid and two
[6:59]
of them weren't.
>> Correct.
[7:00]
» Looked great. But if we're paying for
it, I love like yesterday's content. Can
[7:05]
we steer them in that direction of
generic downtown cute charm? come to the
[7:11]
event.
>> Yes, that's the main goal of this and uh
[7:14]
the discussion of representing folks
that had not had current bid dues was
[7:19]
addressed with them as well and Quinn is
aware of that and so they are
[7:22]
collaborating. So it is going to be
mainly to promote Kingsburg.
[7:27]
» Yeah.
>> And the festival. It's not a business
[7:29]
content as far as I know.
>> Perfect. Yeah, cuz we cannot use our
[7:33]
money to promote certain businesses. We
want to promote all business downtown.
[7:38]
» That sounds great. Yesterday's was
perfect example.
[7:40]
» I will uh reach out to Quinn after this
and just to reinforce that. But I know
[7:45]
that was a discussion that we had.
That's a discussion you folks had as
[7:48]
well, the chamber. Correct. Yes. Okay.
So, it's basically we just want to pump
[7:52]
the numbers for the festival, help the
chamber build that festival up.
[7:56]
» Yeah. To encourage people to come to
Kingsburg during and after the festival.
[8:00]
» Right. And stay.
>> Sounds great.
[8:02]
» Yeah. Okay. Um Okay. So, we have a
motion. We have a second. Do we all
[8:06]
those in favor say I? I
>> I Any opposed?
[8:11]
» Okay, motion pass. All right, that's it.
>> Thank you, folks.
[8:16]
» Lauren.
>> Oh, Lauren wants to speak. All right,
[8:19]
» real quick.
[8:23]
» Green light. Hey, we got a green light.
Good morning, bid board. Lauren Nickel,
[8:26]
Kingsburg District Chamber of Commerce.
On behalf of the board of directors, and
[8:29]
myself, thank you for being willing to
co share this with us. We've appreciated
[8:34]
the partnership. Whenever we can
collaborate to use our resources to
[8:38]
elevate the profile of this festival, I
think we're doing good uh for the
[8:42]
businesses in the downtown community and
also for the broader industry of the
[8:45]
city. Uh really good use of our dollars
to get good content marketing out to
[8:52]
breach our own containment and do that.
We have a limited budget with this
[8:56]
festival. So to be able to cost share
this item with an influencer that we
[9:01]
have an existing relationship with
through the bid is a really great
[9:04]
partnership uh opportunity for us. So
thanks to the bid, thanks to Quinn, and
[9:07]
thanks to Cal Euphoria. Can't wait to be
with you guys this weekend. It's going
[9:11]
to be the best yet.
>> Thank you. All right.
