6:32.
[0:40]
Please join me in the pledge of
allegiance.
[0:43]
» I pledge to the flag of the United

[1:01]
» All right. Meeting agenda.

Moving on to approval of the minutes.
[1:36]
I'll make a motion to approve the
minutes from the regular meeting of
[1:40]
January 12, 2026.

Southerntherland, supported by Trustee
[1:47]
Marino. All in favor?
>> I opposed. Hearing none. Motion passes.
[1:52]
Public announcements.
[1:58]
Okay. Uh I know there's been some social
media rumors around a data center. There
[2:05]
is an item on the agenda for a moratorum
on data centers. At this time there have
[2:10]
been no data centers presented to the
township or any plans for one. So there
[2:16]
are no none that we are aware of at this
time. Also, I'm sure some of you are
[2:24]
hear about the landfill that is being
handled by the county. There is a public
[2:29]
hearing for it at the county
administration building February 18th at
[2:34]
9:00 a.m.
[2:38]
And from that, we'll move on to public
comment. I will say there is a 3minut
[2:43]
limit. If you'd like to go up to the
microphone, please state your name and
[2:47]
address.
[3:01]
» [clears throat]
[3:05]
» Linda Rasciel, 2558926
Mile Road. First of all, I'd like to
[3:10]
thank you all very much for your kind
words and thoughts and prayers for the
[3:13]
death of my mother. Um, it was greatly
appreciated.
[3:17]
I spoke to Jean Ta forest in Lee
Bolinsky on November 3rd, 2025 at the
[3:22]
trusty meeting about the future growth
of pine tree acres. They thought at the
[3:27]
time the actual garbage hill would grow
another 40 ft and they were unsure of
[3:31]
the longevity of the site. Also, I had
if I had any more questions, Shantel
[3:36]
gave me her business card. I never
called her. At the November 25th, 2025
[3:42]
planning commission meeting, Lee
Bolinsky approached me with his boss,
[3:46]
Travis. I don't remember his last name.
They said the site would not be getting
[3:50]
much taller, but the garbage hill would
be increasing another 150 acres, but
[3:55]
they still were in within the 527 acres
that Waste Management Hit owned at the
[4:00]
time. Last week while watching Channel 7
News, there was a story about Pine Tree
[4:05]
acres expanding 235 plus acres and how
the deputy executive from Mcome County,
[4:12]
John Paul Ria, said there would be a
90-day public comment period for
[4:16]
residents to voice their opinions. I
later re read that this period was
[4:22]
October 16, 2025 through January 14,
2026. This was a communitydriven
[4:28]
conversation that would be making this
ruling on the expansion of Pine Tree
[4:33]
acres. Then I found out that there was
already was a public hearing and another
[4:38]
one is going to be February 18th. Mr.
Reer stated at the last planning
[4:42]
commission meeting that he was a member
of the solid waste planning committee.
[4:46]
In fact, I have that correct. But never
said anything about the 90-day public
[4:50]
comment phase and these public hearings
until tonight. In all the months prior
[4:57]
to tonight, the Pine Tree Acres has been
brought up by myself regarding the
[5:00]
master plan and how the potential
expansion of the landfill could affect
[5:05]
the master plan. You have sat back and
have said nothing knowing that a meeting
[5:09]
regarding the expansion had already
taken place and at least one more is
[5:13]
coming up. Why are you hiding this
information from the residents until
[5:17]
tonight whom we represent are supposed
to keep informed? Twothirds of the local
[5:23]
communities are needed to vote in favor
for this expansion for it to go forward.
[5:27]
Of course, it'll pass. They don't want a
landfill in their neighborhood. Are you
[5:32]
asking for anything in return? For
example, having Waste Management pick up
[5:36]
garbage on Grashet from 26 to 32 Mile
Road. Putting a traffic signal at 29
[5:41]
Mile Road and Grash with a no turn on
Red from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Mr.
[5:46]
Reader, you told me before the county
told you people would have to die before
[5:49]
light would be installed. put your foot
down. Increasing their tip fees to at
[5:54]
least the average of the 13 states
channel 7 showed them on their broadcast
[5:59]
in Canada. So Michigan wouldn't be so
attractive to dump trash in. Also,
[6:03]
Governor Whitmer keeps talking about
fixing the damn roads.
[6:07]
» Well, there would be less trash
>> if there were less traffic.
[6:20]
Excuse
[6:27]
me. Press
that H 3940 county line in a segway
[6:33]
following after that information.
[clears throat] The master plan notes
[6:40]
never reflected any of this increase in
the dump. Uh, I think that's a pretty
[6:46]
important thing for our master plan for
our area. Uh, and one of the things the
[6:51]
master plan that really caught my eye
after going through it was the decrease
[6:56]
in home values in the Lennox Township
area. Our homes are worth a lot less
[7:01]
based upon that master plan and upon
what home county put out because of the
[7:08]
dump.
So, we're getting all this money coming
[7:13]
in from the dump. Kind of looking at
that going, okay, what are we doing for
[7:17]
our community out here? How about we
take some of the dump money and maybe
[7:22]
reduce our taxes? Might be a really good
idea because that dump's not going away
[7:28]
for 30 plus years. And a master plan
also ought to have what we're going to
[7:33]
do with the dump after it closes. Now,
it can be, you know, a little broad
[7:40]
brushed on that, but that should be well
laid out and that property all around
[7:44]
it. Nobody wants to build there, but you
should use it as an industrial area. Get
[7:49]
some tax dollars coming in and reduce
the taxes that the residents are paying.
[8:01]
Public
[8:21]
Grace Eisen 6811 Passion Road
in uh the mail with our tax bills. We
[8:29]
received this lovely landfill flyer
about pollinator gardens, etc. Not a
[8:35]
word on it about an expansion.
Um, my question is, how did it come to
[8:42]
be in our tax bill? Who paid for it? Who
paid for the postage?
[8:48]
And our other for-profit and nonprofit
businesses being the given the
[8:54]
opportunity to present their propaganda
in our tax bills. Thank you.
[9:02]
Answer my questions, please, during your
meeting.

>> All right summary Mr. Gbo.
[9:47]
All right. Good evening board. As usual
to the residents and the board of
[9:52]
trustees. This is a required public
hearing notice that's given out. We did
[9:57]
notice this out last meeting. This is
for a request of the CDBG funds to be
[10:04]
distributed throughout the operations
after any requests had been allocated
[10:09]
back into our facility.
Uh this evening we've checked again uh
[10:15]
verifying that no one on the board had
received any road request that had not
[10:21]
come through the process as required.
This year, Lennox Township will receive
[10:26]
approximately $1,900 in community
development block grant funds, which
[10:31]
will be available for public funding. At
this point in time, based upon the
[10:36]
recommendations and the requirements
that we have received, we're requesting
[10:40]
that the board authorize interfaith to
receive $180 out of that 190 or I'm
[10:48]
sorry, corrected. interfaith caregivers
give or should receive $180
[10:55]
out of the $1,900 that was received with
the remaining balance going to the
[11:02]
Lennox Township Senior Citizens
Community Center. With that, I'll take
[11:07]
any questions, comments. We'll return to
the board for closing of the public
[11:12]
hearing.
[11:15]
All right. Public comment on the public
hearing
[11:20]
once.
>> Right. Moving on. Close public hearing.
[11:33]
» I'll make a motion that we close the
public hearing at 6:39.
[11:37]
» I'll second.
>> I have a motion by clerk gurley
[11:40]
supported by trustee Rosal. May the
deputy clerk please call the role 643.
[11:46]
» Sorry, who supported?
>> Rosio.

[11:58]
» I.
>> All right. Moving down discussion. Is
[12:02]
there any discussion on the items?
[12:12]
Hearing none, we'll move on. All right.
Next item on the agenda is the consent
[12:17]
agenda. All items listed on this consent
agenda are considered routine by the
[12:21]
council board. It will be enacted by one
motion. According to established consent
[12:25]
meeting rules, there will be no separate
discussion of these items unless a
[12:27]
member of board or public request active
meeting in which the chair of the
[12:32]
meeting may remove such items from the
consent agenda for discussion and
[12:35]
consideration of their agenda. Item
number eight below. Approve the
[12:38]
acceptance shall be a majority roll call
vote those present and voting.
[12:49]
With that, the orders and bills for the
month of January
[12:54]
were in the amount of $87,518.7.
[13:12]
I'll make a motion to approve the order
of bills in the amount of $87,518.7.
[13:23]
» I have a motion by Treasure Southern
supported by trustee Rosal. May the
[13:26]
declin.

>> I
[13:36]
» All right, moving down to new business
item A 2026 development block grant fund
[13:42]
CPG recommendation.
All right, so 180 to interfaith the
[13:49]
remaining total would be uh $1,720
to the seniors. I will make that my
[13:55]
motion.
>> I'll second that. I have a motion by the
[13:59]
chair supported by treasure sutherland.

>> All right. Moving down. Item B, waste
[14:13]
management waste and recycling contract
proposal. Please have a representative
[14:17]
from WM Chantel.
[14:32]
Good evening, board of trustees. Uh we
recently presented an extension proposal
[14:37]
for 5 years uh to supervisor Reer and
Deputy Supervisor uh Prabo that would
[14:43]
entail um collection to be relatively
similar to what it is now. Uh what we
[14:48]
are proposing as changes would be
transitioning to uh the contents of the
[14:53]
cart only. I know most folks are already
utilizing the carts. The carts have been
[14:56]
in the community for quite some time. Um
so we would be asking that whatever
[15:00]
folks set out can fit inside the cart
with the lid down. Um bulk items would
[15:05]
remain at one item uh per week for
folks. Um the only change there would be
[15:10]
that we're asking them to preschedu it.
Um, they can do that online or via our
[15:16]
live chat or by calling the call center.
[15:24]
And of course, if anyone has questions
about the proposal, I'm sure you all saw
[15:28]
it, but if you have questions, fire
away.
[15:32]
» Just for the sake of everybody that's
here, who would they contact if they
[15:36]
don't have a dumpster?
Yeah, if they don't have a cart, um we
[15:40]
are actually going to be taking care of
that internally. Um so we are doing an
[15:45]
audit to conduct and see which homes do
not currently utilize the WM cart. Um
[15:51]
that's how we would determine who was
going to be receiving uh a cart at their
[15:55]
home. However, if they do have a cart
that's worse for wear or maybe it's got
[16:00]
a cracked lid, a wonky wheel, um they
would be able to contact WM and we would
[16:04]
make sure that they were included as
part of that deployment.
[16:15]
Are these containers larger than what we
have at the present time?
[16:19]
» No, sir.
>> Same size.
[16:21]
» Yes, sir.
>> Do you know when you're going to go into
[16:23]
the one man trucks on that?
>> So, we've already started that
[16:26]
transition. Um, this would help us
solidify that transition. Um so we are
[16:32]
starting to deploy the automated side
load trucks out of our port here on
[16:36]
hauling site which is um what services
your community. Uh we have rolled that
[16:41]
out for I believe most of recycling. Um
there would however still be rear load
[16:46]
trucks utilized for yard waste. Um I
know we don't have yard waste collection
[16:50]
here but you may see it depending on you
know I know you see a lot of track trash
[16:54]
trucks through the community. Um
similarly with bulk items bulk needs to
[16:59]
be handled differently. Um so we would
have a separate vehicle for that but
[17:02]
this would allow us to transition the
trash collection to the um oneperson
[17:07]
automated side load.
>> Thank you.
[17:09]
» Of course. Thank you.
[17:17]
» Um yes there were some questions on the
uh cleanup of Grashet Avenue and the
[17:22]
trash from the trucks that come by. I
know waste management does take care of
[17:27]
some of it sometimes.
Yes.
[17:31]
» Are they intending on expanding that,
Annie?
[17:35]
» So, I know and I'm I apologize because
I'm not entirely familiar with where the
[17:40]
boundaries for the township start and
stop. I do believe that there's a little
[17:43]
bit that goes beyond um but Lee who is
the district manager at Pineree Acres um
[17:49]
works very closely with Supervisor Reer
um with Deputy Supervisor Greybo and in
[17:54]
general if we receive um any sort of
notice that it's it's starting to look
[18:00]
icky at the end of the day we we send
somebody out there to make sure that it
[18:03]
gets cleaned up. Um whether it comes
from our trucks or another hauler's
[18:07]
trucks, it's your community. Um we're a
guest here and we want to keep it clean.
[18:11]
Thank you.
>> Of course.
[18:23]
» Um there was one other question that you
had that I thought was
[18:27]
» left hand turn lane and a right.
>> I can clarify the light on 29 crash. Uh
[18:34]
myself and former trustee Clifford
worked with MDOT who has jurisdiction
[18:39]
over the intersection. Uh we tried to
work with them to get a traffic study
[18:43]
out here for a turn signal and MDOT
basically told us there were not enough
[18:47]
there was not enough traffic at the
intersection to garner a traffic study.
[18:53]
» Would it do any good if we add more
pressure to them and made more phone
[18:56]
calls?
>> We've utilized our representatives at
[18:59]
the state level. We've even talked to
people in the governor's office. They
[19:02]
will not budge.
[19:07]
Good.
>> Um, what about the left hand turn?
[19:10]
» There you go.
>> Again, they do not want to add anything
[19:14]
that would impede the travel on
crashing.
[19:18]
» Yeah.
>> Oh, really?
[19:23]
» Ladies and gentlemen, please,
>> this is the board's time.
[19:28]
Once again, we've stated MDOT has
control of that intersection. We've
[19:34]
tried to go with them. that work with
our state representative or state
[19:37]
senator and the governor's office. MDOT
does not want a bunch.
[19:43]
» Um, if they don't want to put a stop
signal or a a signal there,
[19:46]
» I even suggested [clears throat] a whole
turn
[19:49]
» or a stop sign, an actual stop sign
where all four corners stop.
[19:52]
» I've suggested that they do not want to
stop north and southbound traffic.
[19:57]
» Is that because everybody's traveling
like at 70 mph?
[20:01]
» Yes,
>> pretty much. Um, except
[20:09]
» I I think we should make some more phone
calls into this because it is a very
[20:12]
dangerous intersection. Um, I don't like
what they did with that by pass on the
[20:17]
right.
>> No, I I don't like it either.
[20:19]
» I mean, it's And then instead of putting
a a line that actually looks like you
[20:25]
should cross it,
they put in a solid line, which you're
[20:29]
not supposed to cross. So if you do get
an accident there,
[20:34]
it's a flip of the coin as to whose
fault it is.
[20:39]
» So I I I think we should, you know,
possibly put more pressure on the
[20:44]
county.
>> The county has no jurisdiction over the
[20:47]
intersection. That is a state.
>> Yeah, it's a direction is a state
[20:51]
highway. It purely rests with the
bureaucrats at MD.
[20:55]
» Okay. And we need to put pressure there.
[21:03]
Correct.
>> Correct.
[21:07]
» I mean, we we do need to do something
because it's not a good situation.
[21:12]
» I agree. But the problem is if Amnot
refuses the budge, we've engaged our
[21:17]
state senator. We've engaged our state
representative. We even engage the
[21:21]
governor's office.
>> There's not much we can do other than to
[21:26]
continue the bond vote.
Sometimes squeaky wheel gets soaked
[21:31]
against the oil.
[21:35]
» So yeah, maybe maybe this needs to come
down to a point where we need to
[21:42]
call them once a month, call them, once
a week, do whatever it takes to uh get
[21:48]
some clarification as to what they're
going to do on this.
[21:55]
report.
[21:58]
» Yeah, that that data is available public
way through southeast Michigan.
[22:02]
» I I see where 27 mile has any more
traffic than 29.
[22:08]
In fact, I think 29
27 does have a so obviously they they
[22:15]
thought that 27 mile road had
>> uh 27 I think in the village. So that
[22:21]
maybe that's a difference.
>> I don't know.
[22:25]
» Okay. It'd be in the village. How did
they get it?
[22:29]
» I don't know.
[22:33]
» That line's been there before.
>> I know.
[22:38]
» And and and
I'm sure like I know people in New Haven
[22:42]
have been fighting 26 and New Haven Road
at the state level. Yeah. to get turn
[22:48]
lights,
>> everything there because there's so many
[22:52]
accidents and so many deaths at that
intersection and they have bought that
[22:56]
at the state level with governors and
everything else and they basically said
[23:00]
there's nothing in our budget to help
you put anything,
[23:05]
» but we had to go with New Haven to Lisa
McLean's office to try and get it before
[23:09]
Congress for funding
>> and even that didn't go through.
[23:17]
It's all
>> but moving on.
[23:21]
» This is about the trash contract, not
the landfill.
[23:26]
» I'll make a motion to approve the waste
management waste and recycling contract
[23:29]
beginning July 1st, 2026 and conclude
July 30th, 2030. The cost will be $21
[23:38]
per unit per month for the first year.
It will increase by 4% each year.
[23:45]
Motion.
>> I have a motion by treasure
[23:47]
Southerntherland supported by trustee
Rosal. May the deputy clerk please call
[23:50]
the role.
>> Sutherland
[23:51]
» I.
>> Rosil
[23:53]
» I.
>> Marino
[23:55]
» I.
>> Reer.
[23:56]
» I.
>> Gurley.
[23:58]
» I.
>> All right. Thank you.
[24:00]
» Thank you.
>> All right. Moving down. Item C. Great
[24:04]
Lakes Water Authority payment agreement
proposal. Mr. Strong.
[24:10]
» Yes. Good evening. So, what I have in
front of you is uh what I received back
[24:14]
from Waste Management in regards to a
claim that I had made. Uh you may be
[24:19]
aware last July they experienced a
watering break down at Chesterfield
[24:24]
along Ratchet. Uh that line that broke
was our supply for our township. uh lot
[24:32]
of collaboration and work by all the
communities and workers to reroute keep
[24:39]
us in water during that repair effort.
Um even with significant planning and
[24:47]
and so forth when the system was brought
back online we experienced a water main
[24:52]
break uh that correlated with that
repressurized sidation of our system.
[24:58]
Thus, I submitted the claim to GLWA for
the repairs that we we had to do um and
[25:05]
the water loss that we also experienced.
So, part of their process, which is
[25:11]
built into their contract that we have
with them, um I submitted the claim,
[25:15]
they reviewed it, they've accepted it.
Uh they're willing to uh basically cover
[25:20]
our costs that we endured for this. Uh
part of that is basically creating a
[25:26]
resolution and signing this uh relieving
them of any further uh damages or claims
[25:33]
on that incident.
[25:39]
So basically it would we would get back
$6,59.77
[25:46]
uh which we had to pay out to repair our
water loss.
[25:54]
And Ryan, you're you're the one in the
PAL's office that looked at this.
[26:00]
» I have a little bit. Yeah.
>> Microphone.
[26:03]
» Yeah, I looked at the uh at the
[26:08]
looked like it was
appropriate and ready to go.
[26:24]
Is there any further discussion from the
board of the second?
[26:28]
» If there is no discussion, a motion will
be in order.
[26:41]
» I'll make a motion to vice. I'll make a
motion to accept the settlement release
[26:46]
agreement between Lennox Township and
Great Lakes Water Authority assembling
[26:50]
the cost of the water main break that
occurred on July 16th, 2025
[26:55]
as recommended by DPW Supervisor Cam
Trombly.
[26:59]
» I'll second.
>> I have a motion by Treasure
[27:01]
Southerntherland supported by Court
Gurley. May the deputy clerk, please
[27:04]
call the role.
>> Southerntherland I.
[27:06]
» Gurley I, Rosio I. Marino
>> I
[27:11]
» Reer
>> I
[27:13]
» All right, moving down to item D. Mcome
County Agricultural Purchase of
[27:17]
Development [clears throat] Rights
Committee request quick.
[27:22]
Um at our last meeting, the uh Mcome
County Agricultural Purchase of
[27:28]
Development Rights, the PDR commit
committee came and asked us um what they
[27:33]
do is they if I'm not mistaken, I think
he's here.
[27:38]
Yeah, John series
>> um they preserve farms.
[27:45]
So, um they're asking us for um a
commitment for the next year for the
[27:51]
fiscal year of a pledge of $500 to
enable the committee to continue to
[27:57]
support preserving uh farms and
properties. And just on the 30th, they
[28:03]
had a farm in Richmond. Is that right,
John? that we uh because of the the um
[28:11]
pledges from other communities were able
to save that farm and keep it
[28:16]
preserved. So, they're asking for a
donation of $500 for the upcoming year.
[28:25]
» I can add to that. uh the six northern
townships in the county are members of
[28:31]
that being Armada, Bruce, Ray,
Washington, Richmond, and West. So,
[28:37]
we're one of six of the townships that
partake in this venture.
[28:47]
» All right. If there's no further
discussion, I will make a motion to
[28:50]
approve the $500 commitment to the Mcome
County Purchase and Development Rights
[28:55]
Committee for the coming fiscal year to
continue the support of preserving
[28:59]
farmland properties.
>> I second that.
[29:02]
» I have a motion by the chair, second by
Treasurer Southerntherland. May the
[29:04]
clerk, please call the role.
>> Reer,
[29:06]
» I.
>> Sutherland,
[29:08]
» I.
>> Marino,
[29:10]
» I.
>> Rosal,
[29:11]
» I.
[29:14]
All right, moving down to item E. Uh,
data center moratorum resolution. Uh,
[29:20]
before you, you have a resolution
establishing a temporary moratorum on
[29:25]
any acceptance of any data center
proposals or any filing.
[29:31]
This was done in abundance of caution.
As I said previously, we are not aware
[29:38]
of any proposals that have been
submitted to the township.
[29:44]
» And today we are seeking approval of
resolution 2026-30.
[29:55]
Um, the only thing that I would like to
see in this,
[29:59]
um, and I think the moratorium is a good
idea for us to be able to research it,
[30:04]
but we're putting a fourmon moratorum on
there, and I would like to see like a
[30:09]
30-day
um,
[30:12]
synopsis
at every meeting. In other words, I
[30:17]
don't want this to go four months and
nothing get done on it and then we have
[30:21]
to ask for another four months. Well,
before it comes to the board, it's going
[30:25]
to go to the planning commission. They
are going to be engaging with draft or
[30:29]
the draft ordinance and start crafting
it. It's going to be a zoning ordinance
[30:33]
goes to the planning commission first,
then it comes to the board so we can get
[30:36]
proper supports.
>> That would be nice that we would uh
[30:41]
definitely want to hear you know that.
>> At this time, does a new master plan
[30:47]
provide an area for this?
Technically, yes, they would fit within
[30:55]
the light industrial or heavy industrial
use.
[31:01]
Are they named specifically? No. That's
why we are working with proposing this
[31:07]
moratorum. Get a zoning ordinance on the
books. That way they are mentioned
[31:11]
specifically.
[31:22]
Who would um organize the committee to
research this? Would that come from the
[31:26]
trustees or planning commission?
>> It would start with the planning
[31:29]
commission. They have the power to
organize any uh subordinate committees
[31:33]
of their own members.
>> Thank you,
[31:40]
» Supervisor. If um the four months isn't
long enough for us to get ordinances and
[31:47]
zoning and stuff in place, can this be
changed and added more time?
[31:51]
» Yep. There is a provision in there
allowing for the board to extend another
[31:55]
four months.
>> Okay.
[31:58]
[snorts]
>> Is this going to be at the next is this
[32:02]
going to be on the next planning
commission? No, this resolution will go
[32:06]
into effect immediately, but we will
start having the planning commission
[32:09]
working on it at the next planning
commission.
[32:26]
» If there's no separate discussion, a
motion is in order.
[32:32]
I'll make a motion that we accept the uh
um 4mon
[32:40]
moratorum on uh data centers.
Um I would like a 30-day progress report
[32:48]
put in that.
Um and that would be all. Second motion.
[32:54]
» I have motion by trustee Marino
supported by trustee Rosil. May the
[32:58]
deputy clerk please call the role.
Marino
[33:01]
» I
>> Rosio
[33:03]
» I
>> Sutherland
[33:04]
» I
>> Reer
[33:05]
» I
[33:08]
» All right passes moving on to item F
Township as Wayne healthcare proposal
[33:15]
miss
over here. Um good evening ladies and
[33:20]
gentlemen of the board. My name is Mary
Madow and I serve as head of human
[33:24]
resources for the Chartered Township of
Linux. Over the past year, I focused
[33:28]
heavily on improving employee longevity
and organizational stability. One of my
[33:34]
most influential factors in attracting
retaining quality employees is the
[33:38]
strength of our benefit package. Not
only for the employee, but for their
[33:42]
families as well. As you know, the 2425
insurance plan with Blue Cross Blue
[33:47]
Shield was structured as an 8020 split
with the township covering 80% and
[33:54]
employees covering 20%.
Life insurance coverage ranged from
[33:59]
5,000 to 10,000 depending on your job
title and firefighters received no life
[34:04]
insurance coverage at all. The total for
the uh township's monthly cost was
[34:09]
$13,070.
[34:13]
Um before we move forward, I just want
to be transparent. I don't take the
[34:16]
medical insurance, so I have no personal
stake in this outcome. Um my
[34:21]
recommendations are based solely on what
I believe. In your packet, you're going
[34:25]
to find three different options. Option
one is the same coverage as this year.
[34:30]
So, it' be the 8020 split, but the life
insurance would jump up to 25,000 for
[34:35]
all employees, including the
firefighters,
[34:38]
100% dental and optical, and a $350
stipen. Due to our larger group plan,
[34:45]
actually, the results is a savings of
$361.39.
[34:51]
Option two is a 9010 employee split, but
family members would pay 8020. The same
[34:58]
the $25,000 life insurance for all
employees and firefighters, 100% dental
[35:04]
and optical, and a $375 stipen. And then
my option three was 100% township paid
[35:12]
medical coverage and but the family
members would still do the 8020. Uh the
[35:17]
$25,000 life insurance for all 100%
dental and optical and a $400 stipend.
[35:24]
My the human resource department
recommends a combination of option three
[35:29]
and option two. The employees with 20
years or more and board members would be
[35:35]
offered option three whereas employees
that are under 20 years would be offered
[35:40]
option two. It'd be kind of like a step
up program to reward longevity. The
[35:46]
total cost they figured out for everyone
that is benefiting for it right now
[35:50]
would be $84045
more. Um if you divide that by the 40
[35:56]
people who are benefiting from this, it
comes to $21 per person per month.
[36:02]
Uh cost could fluctuate as staffing
levels do change. This plan can also be
[36:09]
integrated into our broader benefit
package that we offer employees for the
[36:13]
year. At this time, I'm happy to address
any questions the board may have.
[36:26]
» Um, I had a question. This is for
full-time employees only, Mary.
[36:30]
» Yes. Yep. Just full-time employees.
>> Thank you.
[36:37]
» [snorts]
>> And Mary, if I'm not mistaken, the
[36:41]
25,000 life insurance that's for the
firefighters and employees,
[36:46]
» uh, they can add to it themselves if
they want to increase to up to 100,000
[36:51]
on their own.
>> Yes, absolutely.
[36:54]
» The town people have no part of that,
but employees have an option if they
[36:59]
want to add more. Yes.
>> And the firefighters have never had a
[37:03]
life insurance policy with us at all.
>> Nothing.
[37:09]
Like for the firefighter, is there a
probation period before it starts or 90
[37:14]
days or does it start today? Their fire.
>> Yeah, there is a counseling policy for a
[37:20]
90-day probationary period where they do
not receive health insurance or the
[37:25]
benefits associated with that job after.
>> Correct.
[37:28]
» Thank you.
[37:34]
» [cough]
[37:48]
» If there's no further discussion, I will
make a motion to accept the human
[37:53]
resources department recommendation with
a combination of option three and option
[37:58]
two.
[38:07]
Is there support to the motion?
>> I second that.
[38:11]
» I have a motion by the chair supported
by treasurer Sutherland. May the clerk
[38:14]
please call the role.
>> Reader
[38:16]
» I.
>> Sutherland
[38:18]
» I.
>> Marino
[38:20]
» I.
>> Gurley
[38:23]
» I.
>> Rosio.
[38:24]
» I.
>> All right. Moving down to item G. TPW.
[38:30]
Superintendent additional certifications
slobo.
[38:36]
» Good evening board. Um first off uh as a
deputy supervisor I want to thank you um
[38:44]
for looking at our employee staffing our
retention and setting forth one of the
[38:50]
most important things is recommending
our firefighters and first responders. I
[38:56]
think that was a great thing looking at
them, their families, and putting
[39:01]
together the package that the HR
department has done. So, thank you very
[39:05]
much. With that, I'm going to move into
a request for this evening. Our DPW
[39:13]
supervisor, TM Traley, has went through
and been certified now to an S2
[39:19]
classification.
Um, I'm not sure how many people
[39:22]
understand, but there is a
classification that starts out at the
[39:26]
lower end, like an S6, an S5, S4.
The higher you get, the lower the number
[39:34]
becomes. Historically, we have always
transferred that into a rate per hour
[39:41]
change. Uh, Mr. Troley recently passed
his S2 certifications.
[39:47]
Mr. Charlie is responsible for the
drinking water, the contaminations, and
[39:51]
the preservation of those items for our
community. Uh this evening, I would like
[39:58]
to bring that forward and move the range
from his current
[40:04]
position to increase at a 150 per hour
increase
[40:10]
based on the certification and the
passing of the S2.
[40:15]
retroactive to the date of
certification. This would be about 30
[40:18]
days ago he passed us or 45 actually if
I look at the dates on this but
[40:24]
historically we have done this
throughout the township's time frames
[40:28]
each time we've increase the DPW
supervisor's rate he is more responsible
[40:35]
and required to be under those testing
standards for the state of Michigan that
[40:41]
I'll bring it back to the board for any
questions or comments.
[40:49]
How often do we test our drinking water
in L Township?
[40:54]
» Mr. Trump can answer that directly, but
I can tell you that we get
[40:57]
certifications constantly through him
and I and we get all the notifications.
[41:03]
Mr. struggling.
So currently there's multiple tests that
[41:08]
are done every month for back tea
chlorine residual but then there's also
[41:13]
a quarterly test that we do for
disinfected byproducts. Um all these are
[41:19]
mandated through the state and they're
done on a routine basis as well as
[41:23]
reported in our annual report.
>> mandated through the state done
[41:27]
routinely quarterly and monthly.
>> Correct. Okay.
[41:32]
» Thank you.
[41:37]
If there's no further discussion, I'll
make a motion to approve the increase of
[41:42]
$1.50 per hour to the EPW Superintendent
Cam Trumley as he has recently passed a
[41:47]
drinking water certification exam as
recommended.
[41:51]
» Second.
>> I have a motion by the chair supported
[41:53]
by Trustee [clears throat] Rosal. May
the deputy clerk please call the role.
[41:57]
» Peter
>> I.
[41:59]
» Rosio
>> I. Gurley
[42:02]
I Sutherland I
>> All right moving on to item G
[42:11]
item
on it township building official letter
[42:15]
of designation acceptance request Mr.
Good evening, board. This evening, I'm
[42:19]
in front of you. A few months ago, we
had asked for a few variations due to
[42:24]
issues
uh with our building department
[42:27]
officials uh some medical items and some
changes in operations.
[42:33]
This evening I am in front of you asking
that as of Thursday, January 23rd,
[42:38]
Dennis Lemieux, our building official
for the last 10 years, has design
[42:44]
decided to retire his resignation or
deliver his resignation effective
[42:51]
immediately. Dennis has served with the
township more than 10 years and his
[42:56]
dedication and knowledge and commitment
has been a tremendous asset throughout
[43:01]
the time that he's been with us. We do
want to extend our sincere appreciation
[43:06]
for his years of service and wish him
the very best in his future endeavors.
[43:11]
It is the recommendation of the
supervisor's office and the HR
[43:14]
department to accept the board accept
this resignation with the board of
[43:19]
trustees approval.
[43:24]
and I'll bring it back for any questions
or comments.
[43:33]
» I'll make a motion to accept the
resignation of death as of January 23rd,
[43:37]
2026.
>> Second.
[43:39]
» I have a motion by Southernland
supported by clerk gurley. May the death
[43:42]
clerk please call the role.
>> Sutherland.
[43:44]
» I gurley.
>> I reader.
[43:47]
» I
>> Marino
[43:49]
» I. Rosio.
>> Hi.
[43:52]
» All right. Moving down to item I land
council building official formal buyer
[43:56]
request.
>> All right board following up uh of
[44:01]
course the resignation of Mr. Lemieux.
We now have a position that we must
[44:07]
fulfill. We have a current person in
that position. Kurt Stento was a
[44:14]
building official that we had came in
from the board and approved under your
[44:20]
request
back in late October.
[44:25]
We're asking that we allow Mr. Steock to
become the Lennox Township building
[44:30]
official, mirroring the exact same
one-year contract previously held by the
[44:36]
former building inspector official
Dennis Le. Kurt brings significant
[44:41]
experience to the role and will be an
asset to Lennox Township. He has been
[44:46]
assisting the department over the past
several months and consistent
[44:50]
consistently moves forward exceeds our
expectations.
[44:55]
With that, I'll bring it back for any
questions or comments.
[45:01]
» Yeah, I have a couple questions. Um,
under insurance, it says medical
[45:06]
insurance is negotiable by a stipulation
during an agreement process. I believe
[45:12]
this is a part-time position. So, will
he get u insurance through the township,
[45:19]
paid through the township? That is a
negotiated item. Under state law, he
[45:24]
must be considered an employee.
We do have contractual requirements.
[45:31]
That is an item that has to be finalized
as a required item.
[45:36]
» Well, that we had cleared to somebody
already back in December, I believe, is
[45:41]
when him and the supervisor signed. We
know at this point we were giving him
[45:47]
insurance.
>> He was a bed help part time. He wasn't
[45:50]
receiving insurance at that time,
>> right? He was only fulfilling Mr.
[45:54]
Lemieux's spot at that time. If the
board approves this evening, we will
[46:00]
then go back to negotiate that item.
>> This is moving them up to the full-time
[46:05]
growth official.
>> But it says 16 hours a week in the one
[46:10]
spot in red Monday through Thursday, 4
hours a day. So, is that considered
[46:16]
fulltime?
[46:19]
» Mr. Gable. No, that is a contractual
requirement, but we have to recognize
[46:24]
that that official as an employee does
not have to be full-time. Mr. Lemieux
[46:31]
was a part-time, and that's the way the
contract was written. If you look at the
[46:36]
contract, the hours and the wages don't
even come close to a full-time building
[46:42]
official's wages. They are virtually
fraction of a full-time building
[46:46]
official. And this is only his current
contract. This is not the one he would
[46:52]
be utilizing for full time,
not the one that's signed in the
[46:57]
package.
There would be a different new blank
[47:01]
contract.
>> So have presented next month or
[47:05]
» that is that is correct, Mr. Russio.
Once we've concluded the negotiations,
[47:11]
we will bring it back to the board for
final approval.
[47:14]
At this point in time, we're asking for
approval to move forward and negotiate
[47:19]
with Mr. Extenstock and make him our
building official. The previous
[47:24]
building, Inspector Dennis, I know,
drove his vehicle some of the time or
[47:29]
maybe all the time. Um, is that how this
will be or furnishing?
[47:34]
» So, Dennis sometimes drove his truck,
but he had a township vehicle available
[47:39]
to him at all times. It was his personal
choice to drive his personal vehicle. I
[47:44]
think he only drove his personal vehicle
when he was on his way home and he would
[47:47]
stop the inspection on the way home to
Arma.
[47:50]
» We I know he had his personal
we
[47:56]
» Mr. Russio, just to set clarity here,
while they're on duty working for the
[48:02]
township, liabilitywise,
we recommend and highly require that
[48:07]
they utilize township equipment
so that there is no crisscross of
[48:13]
liability. So, while they're on duty and
going out and doing inspections,
[48:18]
it's highly recommended that they
utilize and required to utilize township
[48:23]
equipment. Should we be making that
mandatory?
[48:27]
» That is part of the contract that we're
going to be able to negotiate. I'll take
[48:31]
that into consideration. Uh Mr. Lemieux,
prior there was, you know, a whole
[48:38]
different set of processes that was
going on and it came to light is when we
[48:43]
had become to an employee status. Under
that prior contract, they were
[48:49]
subcontractors that could in fact
utilize their personal vehicle. That has
[48:55]
since changed on the liability
requirements. And that's what I'm
[48:59]
looking at is liability.
>> Correct.
[49:02]
We'll make sure that's clarified and
directed in the new contract.
[49:07]
» Thank you.
>> Are all of our inspectors employees?
[49:14]
» No, just the building.
>> No, sir.
[49:17]
They are subcontracted.
>> Okay. Why is that?
[49:21]
» State law requires that the building
official is an employee. That is very
[49:26]
clear in MTA and the requirements that
was verified through our legal
[49:31]
department and clarified. Now the rest
of the inspectors u whether they be
[49:37]
plumbing, mechanical, electrical, those
can be in fact contractual items that we
[49:43]
put in forth. But a building official
must be classified as an employee.
[49:50]
» I mean, I I'm just wondering, shouldn't
all our inspectors be employees? I mean,
[49:56]
» we we went through this
>> with the liability and it would help
[50:00]
with the understanding. I I understand
your questions, but we went through this
[50:05]
process extensively with legal not even
a year and a half, two years ago and
[50:11]
clarified all of these clarifications,
requirements, and contractual items.
[50:18]
So we we went through this and cleared
this very very systematically to make
[50:24]
sure we cannot support at this point in
time full-time employees for plumbing,
[50:32]
mechanical, electrical based upon the
building specs, the requirements. So
[50:40]
contractually there are requirements in
each one of their contracts that require
[50:45]
insurance and then debt limitation along
with liability insurance that they're
[50:50]
required to carry.
[50:57]
» And do we know what that coverage is? I
mean are they covering
[51:02]
» Yes. We we've had each one all of these
contracts were written and
[51:06]
[clears throat] reviewed by our legal
teams
[51:10]
prior to being approved.
>> They're also required to file a copy of
[51:14]
that insurance with us. So, we are aware
that they do have that.
[51:17]
» That was my question. Okay. Thank you.
That all transpired before you and I
[51:26]
» or me
on the board.
[51:40]
» Is Mr. Sun here?
>> No, we did not ask him to be here this
[51:44]
evening.
>> He knows this is happening. I don't
[51:46]
think we've been told.
>> I think he is aware. He's aware that
[51:51]
this was the first step of the process.
We have to get your approval for us to
[51:55]
move forward to sit down and negotiate
with him.
[51:57]
» Okay.
>> Well, I'll make a motion to approve the
[52:01]
hiring of backup building inspector Kurt
Sangtock as the Lennox Township building
[52:06]
official marrying the same one-year
contract previously held by the former
[52:11]
building official.
>> I'll second.
[52:14]
» I have a motion by Treasur
[clears throat] supported by Trusty
[52:17]
Marino. May deputy court, please call.
Sutherland.
[52:21]
» I burrito.
>> I
[52:24]
» Reer.
>> I
[52:25]
» gurley.
>> I
[52:30]
» All right. Moving on to item 12, public
comment.
[52:50]
Linda Russio 2558926
mile. I just need to clarify or have
[52:56]
half have this clarified.
>> Why did the supervisor's office never
[53:01]
mention the public hearing process about
the expansion of the landfill during the
[53:04]
public announcement part of the trustees
meeting?
[53:09]
We've heard over the past few months
about the community dinner, the tree
[53:12]
lighting, but why not this?
And this is just a a question.
[53:19]
Do you take money for campaign donations
from Waste Management?
[53:25]
The representative here from um Waste
Management said she's a guest in our
[53:29]
community.
Maybe have her call the state and tell
[53:34]
them they are willing to put in the
traffic light and pay for it.
[53:38]
Also, the extra garbage pickup along
grass
[53:43]
They drive to get to the landfill every
day to go to work or the days that
[53:48]
they're working. They see the garbage.
We shouldn't have to call them.
[53:53]
And yes, they do pick it up on occasion,
but I think, you know, as a good
[53:56]
neighbor, they'd want to pick up it a
little bit further north and south.
[54:01]
And what about the deceased people that
the police have looked for over the past
[54:07]
few years? Every time I drive past
there, I think of their families
[54:12]
of those two young women that recently
were have been looked for in the
[54:18]
landfill. Those are things that as our
community that we have to look at every
[54:24]
day that we drive past there between the
garbage, the thoughts of the deceased
[54:31]
and all the times that we have those
trucks pull out in front of us with all
[54:35]
those rolling stops. We shouldn't have
to wait for our people to die because of
[54:41]
this.
And as our representatives here, I think
[54:45]
you'd be a little bit more forceful, a
little more understanding, and I I'm
[54:50]
just kind of disgusted right now.
[54:57]
[applause]
[55:04]
» Hi, my name is Nick Bien. I live on
37444
[55:08]
30 Mile Road. Um, this is my first ever
town hall ever. I'm very, very new to
[55:15]
the area. Uh, I was hoping to come in in
a more positive, you know, environment,
[55:20]
but it kind of tends. Um,
so I've been I've seen the social media
[55:26]
posts and talking about the data center.
Um, the company is called WHP. They are
[55:32]
looking for 300 acres on between 20 mile
29 mile and 30 mile road off of East
[55:38]
Grait. I haven't signed anything, but
I've been told by my neighbors that I am
[55:42]
in within that area that they're going
to be calling me next. Um, I don't
[55:46]
understand why New Haven or Romeo can
pass a one-year moratorum, but we're
[55:53]
going to pass it forward. I appreciate
the effort, but if there's no confidence
[55:58]
I'm just to protect my family, if I
eventually get that phone call, I'm
[56:02]
probably going to have to sign a public
or a agreement to purchase of a tenant.
[56:07]
These contracts are two years with an
option of three. Um, so even if nothing
[56:13]
happens in the four months and we extend
four months after that, it's we're those
[56:17]
contracts outlast that. So I don't want
to be touching the property line of a of
[56:22]
a data center. I've only been here 7
months, 8 months.
[56:26]
» Um, I've moved 22 times in my life. I'm
33 years old. I have a daughter. I have
[56:31]
an a boy on the way. I would like to
make this my home. I live next to a
[56:35]
family farm. Everybody's been there for
generations. I'd like to just stay and
[56:40]
stop moving, but I I'm not sure I have
confidence I'm going have to make one
[56:44]
more move in my life. So, that's all I
got.
[56:50]
[applause]
[56:57]
» Hey, 3940 county line. Um, every meeting
that we have, we always have the consent
[57:04]
agenda where we go over all these
different reports and we say they're
[57:09]
approved. I've never really seen them,
but could we post these online for full
[57:15]
transparency?
That would be very beneficial. And if
[57:18]
someone would like to review them and
look at them, that would be a great
[57:22]
thing. And a lot of our documents should
be posted online where it's click click.
[57:27]
We've got a website. Doesn't take much
to make a PDF copy of something and then
[57:31]
post it. And if you have to wait until
after it's formally approved, it'll at
[57:36]
least we'd have a reference point from
the previous meeting where we could
[57:40]
review those documents. Um other than
that, I mean, I don't know. I can't find
[57:46]
them. I maybe have to come in and knock
on the door and say, can I get a copy or
[57:49]
put a foyer request in it? But that's
kind of a waste of time. Uh, I think
[57:54]
again with full transparency, I think
that would be an excellent thing for the
[57:58]
township to be open and showing where
everything's at and what's in the
[58:03]
reports so that we all have an
understanding. Maybe 99% of the people
[58:07]
would read them, but the 1% that would,
they'd be there. Thank you.
[58:14]
[applause]
[58:20]
size and 6811 Pashuk Road. It was
mentioned and I'll repeat it again. Mr.
[58:26]
Reer sits on the Senate waste committee.
That committee has been meeting for
[58:31]
several months. The discussion of the
expansion has been going on since prior
[58:36]
to the first of the year. We received
our tax bills with propaganda that you
[58:41]
didn't answer my questions about. Why
couldn't we have the information about
[58:47]
this expansion and the community
meetings that were being planned put in
[58:52]
our tax bills
[58:56]
and I looked all over the website for
the township. I went to the township
[59:02]
supervisor's Facebook page. I went to
your personal Facebook page because
[59:08]
somebody had told me that's where I
would find it. not being your friend and
[59:12]
no desire to be your Facebook friend. I
cannot see all of your Facebook posts,
[59:18]
let alone how many people do not use
Facebook. As a government official, I
[59:24]
don't think Facebook is the appropriate
place to put out
[59:30]
government information.
>> And that landfill letter should have
[59:36]
been mailed to our homes.
Why are we trying to hide it?
[59:42]
Lastly,
there's about four inches of snow on the
[59:46]
sidewalk between the back parking row
and the front parking row on the night
[59:51]
of a meeting. Why can't it be shuffled?
>> Absolutely.
[59:56]
» Thank you. [applause]
[1:00:05]
» Jessica, 644.
I wanted to ask a couple questions for
[1:00:10]
um waste facility which I will be asking
at February 18th meeting. Has the
[1:00:14]
expansion on the landfill taken into
effect that there's a preschool less
[1:00:17]
than a half mile away from there? Um as
well as is Brashet going to be widened
[1:00:22]
county road going to be wided with this
expansion? And then someone else also
[1:00:25]
mentioned this too. Um it would be great
if Pine Tree would make um you know some
[1:00:29]
type of grant or whatnot for this
traffic light or you know some more
[1:00:34]
phone calls to Governor Whitmore or
fixing the roads something should really
[1:00:38]
take effect and then also for in my
opinion with the data center if there is
[1:00:42]
any merit to it which it seems like this
is full steam ahead in my opinion um
[1:00:46]
Linux is going to be unlivable between
you know the expansion of the waste with
[1:00:50]
everything going on there as well as the
data center who's going to want to live
[1:00:54]
here and leave it at
[1:01:06]
Good evening.
>> Good evening. My name is Michelle
[1:01:10]
Derswicki, 31500 Donovan Drive in
Lennox.
[1:01:16]
I don't get any mailing from you guys
other than my tax bill because I've got
[1:01:20]
a post office box in Richmond. So, that
needs to be corrected. Um,
[1:01:28]
I've been a resident here for 36 years.
I used to come to the meetings and got
[1:01:34]
really disgusted with with the board and
said, "Heck with that. I came back
[1:01:38]
tonight because the AI center
information." You guys need to step up
[1:01:43]
and put your foot down and just say flat
out no. We've already got one closed
[1:01:51]
landfill in Lennox Township that was
closed by the DEEQ. We've got Pine Tree
[1:01:56]
Acres who is apparently expanding now,
but not really expanding. They're just
[1:02:03]
making their current property
>> more landfill.
[1:02:08]
» Um, you've got the prison
We're going to put an AI center that's
[1:02:14]
going to mess up our water. It's going
to mess up all the ponds that are in
[1:02:19]
almost everybody's backyard.
You've got well water. There's a lot of
[1:02:24]
people on the other side of the tracks,
which I'm one of them, that live on
[1:02:29]
wellwater. All of the wellwater gets
messed up. What are they doing with the
[1:02:34]
water after they get done with it?
Where's the hazmat going to go? We're
[1:02:39]
gonna get a hazmat landfill down next,
too. It It's ridiculous. You guys need
[1:02:45]
to put your foot down. Say no.
And put a light and fix grass because I
[1:02:52]
won't drive crashing. I've lived here 36
years. I won't drive crashing because
[1:02:57]
there's too many nails and too much
trash on the road. I don't need another
[1:03:02]
flat tire. I go county line.
>> Thank you.
[1:03:07]
» Yep. You're right.
[1:03:15]
My name is John Ryan. I live at 3137032
Mile Road. And uh I'm here on behalf of
[1:03:21]
the PDR committee to thank you for uh
your continued support for this ongoing
[1:03:25]
program. And just to clarify that the
money that you've allocated, there's
[1:03:29]
actually no money being, you know,
transferred at this point. It's just a a
[1:03:33]
commitment that if another farm is
preserved like the one that was done
[1:03:36]
this past week in Richmond Township,
which one is in the process right now,
[1:03:40]
whether it gets approval at the state
level or not remains to be seen, but
[1:03:44]
that money is a commitment to help
offset a commitment from each of the
[1:03:48]
participating townships to offset um
administration fees, closing costs,
[1:03:53]
things of that nature, and what have
you. Um so, I just want to thank you on
[1:03:57]
behalf of the committee for that. And on
another note, I'm not that well
[1:04:00]
informative, but uh a comment was made
about the issue with the traffic on
[1:04:04]
Grash regarding the 29 mile road. And I
would venture to guess that the amount
[1:04:10]
of traffic on Grash is fairly
consistent, but the crossroad traffic at
[1:04:13]
29 probably doesn't equal what is say at
27 when you make that comparison. But
[1:04:19]
one intersection is not the same as the
other. 29 mile is an entirely different
[1:04:23]
situation because of trucks leaving and
enter you know leaving 29 and entering
[1:04:27]
the flow of traffic on grass when every
vehicle is doing 55 mph at least um a
[1:04:33]
truck just cannot accelerate at the same
rate of speed and I know it's impossible
[1:04:36]
to work with MD dot but maybe they need
to be made aware that this is a
[1:04:41]
different scenario it is a an ongoing
neverending flow of trucks one after
[1:04:47]
another from you know before sunrise
nice after sunset sometimes. Um, and
[1:04:53]
that is the biggest safety hazard I'd
say. Thank you.
[1:04:58]
[applause]
[1:05:03]
» All right.
Call from the board. Are you getting
[1:05:06]
enough public comment?
>> Yeah.
[1:05:20]
My name is Dave Cox.
Uh 3495129
[1:05:24]
Mile Road and I've been here for 33
years. Um, I'm the first house off of
[1:05:30]
Crashet on 29 Mile Road west of Crash.
And I've been putting up with that
[1:05:36]
garbage dump over there for all these
years. I've been lied to by this, not
[1:05:41]
your board, but boards in the past about
what they're going to do and how they're
[1:05:45]
going to get rid of all that. It was
supposed to be done 5 years after I
[1:05:48]
moved in that township that was supposed
to be closed down. It never happened.
[1:05:54]
Then I was asked, "How tall is this
thing going to actually go?" And they
[1:05:59]
had no answer.
But the first time they told me it was,
[1:06:02]
"Oh, it's only going to go up to a
certain height." So then two years
[1:06:06]
later, they lied to me again about it
and said they don't know. Nobody knows
[1:06:09]
what's going to happen with the height.
And it's just nothing but about
[1:06:15]
what goes on with that landfill. They
want to act like there are nice friends
[1:06:20]
in the neighborhood, but they don't do
anything for us. And the fact that all
[1:06:25]
this garbage comes off those tires and
mud and all the coming down 29 and
[1:06:31]
then up and down Brashet.
They have a system that they can have a
[1:06:36]
flush out system where the trucks just
go across it. All the water sprays up in
[1:06:41]
their facility there and cleans out the
damn underc carriage of all those
[1:06:45]
vehicles and the tires.
>> Why don't we do that?
[1:06:53]
So, and the other thing is we really
need a light. Whether the whether that
[1:06:58]
landfill wants to be nice guys and show
us how much they like us over here.
[1:07:02]
Well, let them put the damn lamp. Let
them pay for the whole thing.
[1:07:06]
[clears throat] It's ridiculous. I can't
pull out. I use my pickup truck to pull
[1:07:11]
out because I'm afraid I'm going to get
hit by somebody. My wife's the same way.
[1:07:16]
She's been had the scared out of
her I don't know how many times. We've
[1:07:19]
had enough accidents at that
intersection.
[1:07:23]
I don't know what it's going to take. We
have to start killing more people over
[1:07:26]
there. There's actually I think if you
look it up, I think there's actually
[1:07:29]
been people killed there. I know of a
couple really bad accidents over there
[1:07:34]
that were caused by those trucks.
[1:07:38]
I guess that's all I got to say.
[applause]
[1:07:53]
Good evening everyone. Uh this is my
first uh town hall I guess you could
[1:07:58]
say. Uh the two big items, the dump and
the data center. My big things to come
[1:08:03]
here for say my name and place too.
Brandon 34880 32 Mile Road. Um I just
[1:08:09]
want to first off give credit where
credit's due. I'm impressed with the
[1:08:12]
trustees here. They kind of seem like
real people, real residents. I know that
[1:08:17]
a lot of people that work for Lennox
Township aren't even residents, which is
[1:08:20]
kind of astonishing to me. But, uh,
first off, I want to make a point that
[1:08:25]
all the time and money afforded here on
these things tonight, and nothing's been
[1:08:29]
really said or done as far as
transparency when these things are going
[1:08:32]
to happen and what's going to happen
during them. Use the social medias.
[1:08:36]
That's how the world communicates these
days. Why is there not money allowed to
[1:08:41]
a third party or somebody something to
use social media? That's how everybody
[1:08:46]
finds everything out, you know?
>> Um
[1:08:52]
yeah, I I feel like sometimes our words
are just kind of futile up here. They
[1:08:56]
get heard, but nobody's listening. So,
it's unfortunate. But as far as the dump
[1:09:01]
goes, I work on the water and sometimes
I'm all the way as far down as almost
[1:09:05]
Detroit and I can see that dump from on
top above the trees from miles and miles
[1:09:11]
around even across the Canadian border
on the lake. Um, I don't know if you
[1:09:17]
guys know, but most, if not, I'd like to
get some waste management lawyer
[1:09:21]
statistics on this, but most of that
garbage trucks that I see on GRA that
[1:09:24]
are causing all this havoc and,
>> you know, fueling the stoplight issue
[1:09:29]
are all Canadian garbage trucks.
>> It's not even our garbage.
[1:09:33]
» There's some kind of backboard deal or
something. All the millions get paid.
[1:09:37]
You can't interfere with free market. I
get that whole. But we're doing things
[1:09:41]
here in the township to limit the data
center business businesses from
[1:09:45]
happening or trying to control that. How
come there's no control over the dump?
[1:09:50]
And
you know, you can only do so much, I
[1:09:53]
get, but it's it's unfortunate.
>> But uh yeah, it seems like the stop
[1:09:57]
light isn't the answer. It's the trucks
that are the the problem. So
[1:10:01]
» that's all I got to say about that for
for now. Thanks,
[1:10:05]
[applause]
[1:10:12]
All right, last call. Public comment.
>> All right, moving down. Call from the
[1:10:18]
board.
[clears throat]
[1:10:21]
» Yes, I'd like turn it off.
>> Oh,
[1:10:27]
» I'd like to make a comment about the
traffic light at 29 Grashet. I think
[1:10:32]
everybody in here probably heard of
Blakes's Orchard up in Armada. Uh they
[1:10:36]
have a parking lot on the north side of
the center road and one on the south
[1:10:40]
side. Several years ago at their own
expense they put a traffic light in
[1:10:44]
there. I know that's a county road not a
state road but if somebody was willing
[1:10:49]
to pay for it I don't know if the state
would have a different approach to it. I
[1:10:54]
think that's maybe something we should
check into see that would be a
[1:11:00]
possibility.
And as the lady said from on waste
[1:11:04]
management being a good neighbor, maybe
they would like to do that for
[1:11:08]
attention.
>> Thank you.
[1:11:11]
» Time to tip these.
[1:11:16]
» All right. Anything else from the board?
[1:11:22]
» Hearing not. I'll make a motion to
adjourn at 7:43 p.m.
[1:11:26]
» I have a motion by the chair support
other. All in favor? All right. All
[1:11:30]
right.
None. We are journey.
[1:11:40]
[music]
