[1:02] want to say thank you all for having me out. Um, but I wanted to share some

[1:05] positive information with all of you. I'm going to each of the subdivisions or

[1:08] towns villages in Lake County. Uh, through some really diligent budgeting

[1:12] and kind of very conservative uh, outlooks for the future. We were able to

[1:16] reduce our budget for this year and or sorry for 2027 and 2028 looks like by

[1:20] about a million dollars. And so by doing that, we're actually going to offer a

[1:24] refund back to the uh community to help fund the health department and Leroy for

[1:28] one will be about $20,000 refund this year. Well, 2.7 uh looks like 2028 and

[1:34] then we're looking to see if we can still do it in 2029 as well. And a lot

[1:37] of that through efficiencies, contracts with different sources and other things

[1:40] to kind of lower our expenses on that side and maximize what all you provide

[1:44] to us. Uh because you guys really want to make it healthy possible. So I wanted

[1:49] to share that let you guys know what that is. there's no reductions in

[1:51] services, no reduction in staffing. Um, a lot of this is really the CO dollars

[1:56] uh that came in. The health department did not take those dollars and like

[2:00] raise salaries exponentially or spend on things we didn't need. Uh, and so now

[2:04] we're looking at saying, "Hey, we have these dollars in the bank. We don't have

[2:07] a use for them. So, we're going to return it back to you guys so you can do

[2:10] what you need with your community." Obviously, the hope is something health

[2:13] related or if we can, you know, do something outdoor related. You know,

[2:15] we're all outdoor fans. Uh, so something like that. But we wanted to make that

[2:19] available to you guys and we'll be reissuing that on your 2027 tax

[2:23] assessment for the first and second uh half tax assessments you guys do. Um any

[2:29] questions from your guys' side? >> I would just like to say it's not often

[4:28] is pretty much in favor of us going forward with that and making that

[4:32] 15-year commitment to keep that property a park. Um so I started working on the

[4:37] packet and in the packet they asked us, are there any isolated wetlands in there

[4:44] and is the union muscles habitat threatened? I'm like I don't know.

[4:51] contacted soil and water and soil and water is helping us with that. And one

[4:55] of the things we have to do to get a response to that question for this

[4:59] packet is fill out a Ohio natural heritage data request and that's this.

[5:08] And it then has to be sent um sent back to soil and water and they will

[5:15] submit it so that we can get an answer back to put in our packet. But it

[5:19] requires a signature and I didn't want to sign it without you guys knowing

[5:23] about it and saying that that's okay with you. It's to keep the process

[5:29] » they pretty much said they didn't think the union muscle was going to be

[5:33] effective because there's no running water on the property. So, yay. So, I

[6:46] the other thing is, as you know, we passed a cyber security policy. Part of

[6:50] that policy is to have it distributed to all the employees and to have them read

[7:52] properly. We did all of that paperwork. We sent it

[7:56] in. We have heard back on the school property.

[8:00] In the meantime, from when we filled out the applications and all the forms until

[8:07] we hear yes or no, we do have to make monthly payments as a delinquent tax.

[8:14] So, we are able now that the school property has been deemed that we qualify

[8:19] for tax exempt and we no longer have that. We do have to fill out yet another

[8:25] form asking for all of those payments that we made in the meantime back. Um I

[8:32] believe that the amount is $4,900

[8:39] $712. So they all have um just says all that.

[8:45] It asks for proof of all of our payments. I have all of those from the

[8:50] bank and um it needs a signature and a notary and so I would just ask if you

[8:57] guys look over that if you agree with everything um if one of you guys could

[9:02] sign it and I will not

[10:58] firefighter paramedic is Ryan Brewaker. Ryan's father worked fulltime for Perry.

[11:03] He worked part time for us. He's brand new. So we're here to learn

[11:13] for paramedics. So I think both of them be good for us. Um Brian Cooper will be

[11:20] sworn in as lieutenant on 9:17 at 6:30 in the evening

[11:25] and our new ports have been ordered and our loopus device was able to be fixed

[11:31] » through uh um if we got paid for to have it fixed. that's up in the air. But uh

[11:38] they're able to reach out to all the different texts out there.

[22:21] 470 office complex there in Shard. It was full of furniture. And um I

[22:26] contacted the county administrator and I said, "Hey." and she said, "Yeah, they

[22:31] had actually already passed a uh resolution to donate that furniture to

[22:35] any political subdivision that asked for it." So, our guys went over and picked

[22:39] it up and brought it back. And so, our old furniture we're going to be posting

[22:43] on the website available for sale to anybody in the county that our township

[22:48] that might want to purchase that. Um, so keep your eyes open for that because

[22:52] that's coming, I guess, pretty soon, right?

[32:25] unless you want to get spectrum. >> So they have a monopoly. They can charge

[32:29] whatever they want, which is ridiculous. Um I don't really want their TV service.

[32:35] Um all the other communities have fiber

[32:39] optics. In fact, there's a few on here in Leroy here and there that's been here

[32:43] for a long time, too, is what I'm finding out. Um, but we need fiber

[32:48] optics here. Perry's just got the fiber optics in from kinetics. Um, Thompson's

[32:54] got it. Along had it. Pays Township has it.

[32:59] Paysville has it. Everybody's got it. Shard. But we don't. Why are we left out

[33:06] of this whole ordeal? I I don't understand. we should have the

[33:09] opportunity of being able to connect the fiber optics as opposed to spectrum. Um

[33:16] I'm not going to deal with Spectrum. Um I don't like them. I don't trust them

[33:20] and I'm sick of Direct TV and I'm s and basically the same thing. They all get

[33:26] the same shows. So anyways, I won't have uh let's see, since I don't

[33:32] have copper lines, I can't have my my service for my security unless I go with

[33:39] wireless and it's going to cost me a fortune to do that in my shop at my

[33:44] home. Um so I spoke to Kinetics, that's who's doing this all in the area and

[33:49] probably AT&T has done some in the past. In fact, there is some AT&T that's on it

[33:56] goes part of that way to Carter. Another one runs all the way over to Niffin

[34:03] where the tower is the cell tower and it's been and this has been there for

[34:09] years 20 years or better and but we can't tie into it. You probably know

[34:14] about this. >> I know this by

[34:20] you. Yeah. Yeah. And so I um I would really like these fiber optics because

[34:26] we would be giving it great service at a very low price compared to all this

[34:30] other especially if you want to dump spectrum and you're tired of that. You

[34:34] have that opportunity. Um I I believe we need it and I think it's wrong that our

[34:39] community is left out. And in speaking to kinetics, it's real simple. All you

[34:44] got to do is make a phone call and say, "Hey, yeah, we want it." the more people

[34:48] that call, especially our board that responds to them, um they'll they'll

[34:55] come out with the engineers, they'll go over everything and get everything set

[35:00] up and install it here like they've just done Perry, like they just done

[35:03] Thompson. Um it it would be great. Um we need it. We have to have it. I would

[35:10] like it. The only other what thing I can do now um since I don't want to go the

[35:14] spectrum route is I have to go with Starlink. It's the only thing I can do

[35:19] and that it's it's kind of disappointing that we're stuck with very little

[35:25] options to have communications these days and I don't have to use my phone to

[35:30] do it. I like using my computer. Uh it's a lot better for me.
