Well, you should be a
>> clear
[0:05]
to the flag of the United States of
America and to the republic for which it
[0:11]
stands. One nation under God,
indivisible, liberty and justice for
[0:16]
all.
[0:22]
» Can you just tap on it to make sure?
[0:30]
You know, I don't need this, right?
[0:35]
» Thank you everybody for joining us this
evening.
[0:42]
» All right, here it goes.
>> We're going to start this evening with a
[0:48]
guest, uh, Adam Whitkkey from the Lake
County Health Department. Why don't you
[0:53]
join us this evening? Welcome, Adam.
>> Thank you. The floor is yours.
[0:57]
» All right. Uh, Adam Licky, the health
commissioner for Lake County. I just
[1:02]
want to say thank you all for having me
out. Um, but I wanted to share some
[1:05]
positive information with all of you.
I'm going to each of the subdivisions or
[1:08]
towns villages in Lake County. Uh,
through some really diligent budgeting
[1:12]
and kind of very conservative uh,
outlooks for the future. We were able to
[1:16]
reduce our budget for this year and or
sorry for 2027 and 2028 looks like by
[1:20]
about a million dollars. And so by doing
that, we're actually going to offer a
[1:24]
refund back to the uh community to help
fund the health department and Leroy for
[1:28]
one will be about $20,000 refund this
year. Well, 2.7 uh looks like 2028 and
[1:34]
then we're looking to see if we can
still do it in 2029 as well. And a lot
[1:37]
of that through efficiencies, contracts
with different sources and other things
[1:40]
to kind of lower our expenses on that
side and maximize what all you provide
[1:44]
to us. Uh because you guys really want
to make it healthy possible. So I wanted
[1:49]
to share that let you guys know what
that is. there's no reductions in
[1:51]
services, no reduction in staffing. Um,
a lot of this is really the CO dollars
[1:56]
uh that came in. The health department
did not take those dollars and like
[2:00]
raise salaries exponentially or spend on
things we didn't need. Uh, and so now
[2:04]
we're looking at saying, "Hey, we have
these dollars in the bank. We don't have
[2:07]
a use for them. So, we're going to
return it back to you guys so you can do
[2:10]
what you need with your community."
Obviously, the hope is something health
[2:13]
related or if we can, you know, do
something outdoor related. You know,
[2:15]
we're all outdoor fans. Uh, so something
like that. But we wanted to make that
[2:19]
available to you guys and we'll be
reissuing that on your 2027 tax
[2:23]
assessment for the first and second uh
half tax assessments you guys do. Um any
[2:29]
questions from your guys' side?
>> I would just like to say it's not often
[2:34]
that government gives money back. So
thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
[2:38]
» And you didn't have to. You volunteered.
So
[2:40]
» yes, we did. You know, lightning does
strike once in a while. So uh that is
[2:44]
our goal. Um I don't mean to detach. I
do have one more meeting tonight on the
[2:48]
other side of the county that I have to
go to, but I'm leaving my most trusted
[2:51]
advisor, Gina Parker, here should you
have any questions, she will answer
[2:55]
everything and do it as as graciously as
possible. She knows it all, so give her
[3:00]
the hard questions once I leave.
>> No pressure, Gina.
[3:02]
» Not at all. Not at all. Not at all.
>> All right. Thank you. If you guys need
[3:06]
anything else, let me know. And
hopefully I'll be able to tell you this
[3:08]
again next year as well for 2028. So,
>> thank you so much.
[3:11]
» Thank you.
>> Take care.
[3:15]
» Yeah.
[3:18]
Is there any?
[3:27]
» Yes. I was like I put something in the
right spot.
[3:32]
» Um I have a motion.
[3:38]
» Second.
>> Roy seconds.
[3:43]
» I already wrote that you did.
>> It's okay. Um 75
[3:46]
» uh and this is for post
uh of the meeting in August 20th.
[3:52]
» Yes.
>> Yes. Uh Linda Berenny.
[3:55]
» Hi.
>> Rich Campel.
[3:56]
» Hi.
>> Ry Gray.
[3:58]
» Hi.
>> All right. under administrative. As you
[4:03]
know, we uh were blessed to receive a
grant of money from the state capital
[4:09]
bill to be used to uh revamp the um Leo
Land Lab walking trail. And uh in order
[4:17]
to get that process moving, we have to
send them a packet of information.
[4:22]
And um based on um preliminary results
from our survey, it looks like everybody
[4:28]
is pretty much in favor of us going
forward with that and making that
[4:32]
15-year commitment to keep that property
a park. Um so I started working on the
[4:37]
packet and in the packet they asked us,
are there any isolated wetlands in there
[4:44]
and is the union muscles habitat
threatened? I'm like I don't know.
[4:51]
contacted soil and water and soil and
water is helping us with that. And one
[4:55]
of the things we have to do to get a
response to that question for this
[4:59]
packet is fill out a Ohio natural
heritage data request and that's this.
[5:08]
And it then has to be sent um sent
back to soil and water and they will
[5:15]
submit it so that we can get an answer
back to put in our packet. But it
[5:19]
requires a signature and I didn't want
to sign it without you guys knowing
[5:23]
about it and saying that that's okay
with you. It's to keep the process
[5:28]
going.
>> Yeah,
[5:29]
» they pretty much said they didn't think
the union muscle was going to be
[5:33]
effective because there's no running
water on the property. So, yay. So, I
[5:39]
will go ahead and sign this and get it
back to them tomorrow.
[5:43]
Um, do we want a motion for that to
grant me permission to sign it? Do you
[5:48]
want to see
it?
[5:52]
» I'll make the motion
just cover.
[6:04]
» Hi.
>> Thank you for that. Uh there was a
[6:08]
couple of things I wanted to bring up
that are not on the agenda but under the
[6:12]
administrative thing. I did hear back
from the prosecutor's office on the um
[6:17]
updates to our policy manual. I have
responded to her uh to try to set up a
[6:23]
meeting because there's just a few
things left to clean up and she has not
[6:26]
got back to me. But that is still moving
and I may need to have you and you to
[6:33]
help me with that because some of the
things that she asked had to do with
[6:36]
things you do and things that you guys
do and that's kind of wasted on me. I
[6:42]
don't know the answers to those, but I
want to get that to the finish line. Uh,
[6:46]
the other thing is, as you know, we
passed a cyber security policy. Part of
[6:50]
that policy is to have it distributed to
all the employees and to have them read
[6:54]
it and sign the acknowledgement.
I'm just reminding you, please do that
[6:59]
because the acknowledgement needs to go
in the personnel files. So, if you
[7:03]
haven't done that, can we keep keep that
process moving? And if you have any
[7:07]
questions, let me know.
um fiscal office on this.
[7:12]
» If you guys could motion to pay the
bills.
[7:16]
» I move we pay the bills.
>> Linda Bhenny
[7:20]
» I
>> Rich Campel.
[7:23]
» Roy Brit.
>> Hi.
[7:26]
» Um also in your fiscal office slot
you'll see um
[7:32]
I filled out uh let me backtrack. We
there are two pieces of property that we
[7:38]
keep getting property bills, tax bills
for. Uh we've talked about those earlier
[7:43]
this year. We put in the application to
become tax exempt. It just never was
[7:48]
done when we took ownership of those
properties and it was never done
[7:52]
properly.
We did all of that paperwork. We sent it
[7:56]
in. We have heard back on the school
property.
[8:00]
In the meantime, from when we filled out
the applications and all the forms until
[8:07]
we hear yes or no, we do have to make
monthly payments as a delinquent tax.
[8:14]
So, we are able now that the school
property has been deemed that we qualify
[8:19]
for tax exempt and we no longer have
that. We do have to fill out yet another
[8:25]
form asking for all of those payments
that we made in the meantime back. Um I
[8:32]
believe that the amount is $4,900
[8:39]
$712.
So they all have um just says all that.
[8:45]
It asks for proof of all of our
payments. I have all of those from the
[8:50]
bank and um it needs a signature and a
notary and so I would just ask if you
[8:57]
guys look over that if you agree with
everything um if one of you guys could
[9:02]
sign it and I will not
[9:10]
sign it.
>> Yes.
[9:18]
and today's eight.
>> Yes.
[9:20]
» I don't know how long it takes. I don't
know how long it will take to get that
[9:23]
back. Um and we have not heard on our
other property, just the school one.
[9:29]
» That's cuz we couldn't turn it in for
quite a while because we were waiting
[9:33]
for determination from the auditor about
how much we owed.
[9:36]
» I think it was like two months later. So
hopefully in about another month or so,
[9:40]
I'm expecting it.
>> Okay.
[9:43]
» Yep. That's it for me. Fire,
[9:48]
» excuse me. For the month of August, we
had three calls worth 476 for the year.
[9:54]
Eight of them were fire, three EMS, one
hazardous conditions, four service
[9:59]
calls, four intent, two false alarms,
and one specialist.
[10:08]
» Yes, we have two applications to be
approved tonight. um any background on
[10:13]
drug tests. One is for John VA. John's a
career firefighter township. He worked
[10:18]
for us in the past personal reasons. We
left him on good terms. Um he's asked if
[10:24]
you come back. So
[10:29]
» and then uh he'll be he'll be a big
help. The only the only thing that we're
[10:34]
going to fight against is he's a big
guy. He needs big gear. So township as
[10:40]
graciously let us borrow his gear in the
second set of gear until we buy him gear
[10:45]
next year. So as long as he
works
[10:50]
first gear next
we have pretty much uh the other
[10:58]
firefighter paramedic is Ryan Brewaker.
Ryan's father worked fulltime for Perry.
[11:03]
He worked part time for us.
He's brand new. So we're here to learn
[11:09]
and he's actually a really good kid.
He's done some right timers being better
[11:13]
for paramedics. So I think both of them
be good for us. Um Brian Cooper will be
[11:20]
sworn in as lieutenant on 9:17 at 6:30
in the evening
[11:25]
and our new ports have been ordered and
our loopus device was able to be fixed
[11:31]
» through uh um if we got paid for to have
it fixed. that's up in the air. But uh
[11:38]
they're able to reach out to all the
different texts out there.
[11:42]
So it's working as
[11:52]
you
[11:55]
» uh roads they are finishing up hatching
summer. They got a little bit a couple
[12:01]
holes on Proctor to do. Um Jennings is
supposed to be done the middle of the
[12:07]
month by Chiaga Highway. Uh we have a
big hole on Baker Roads we're going to
[12:12]
fix and a couple down here on Milton.
We're trying to get all this done before
[12:19]
the weather turns and get all the roads
ready to go and then start working on
[12:24]
the trucks and the plows. And somebody
made a donation uh over on Radcliffe
[12:30]
Road over the weekend and um gave Rick
and um
[12:36]
Al and Jake uh all new mattresses so
they have a place to sleep.
[12:47]
somebody.
>> No, they just dumped them on
[12:56]
a
>> push.
[13:04]
I mean,
>> put them in the field with the one that
[13:08]
has had for like four years. That's so
gross.
[13:12]
It's been there for
>> there for a while.
[13:20]
» Okay.
>> Okay.
[13:23]
» Cemeteries.
>> Okay.
[13:30]
» Can you hear them? We hear you sitting
next to you.
[13:39]
» No. Okay.
Okay, we had one burial and one remation
[13:44]
determent this week
last week and uh
[13:50]
got another burial this this week
Friday. As far as the restoration
[13:56]
people, they
I called them again today, but I haven't
[14:01]
heard back. They should be here next
week. I already went out and marked all
[14:05]
the stones that need repairs for
So, we'll be okay on that. I don't think
[14:13]
we're going to have enough to start
[14:24]
there. Look at the suckers.
[14:28]
something about
[14:32]
» I know he didn't want to grind it
because he wasn't I sure how deep the
[14:36]
stones was there and how deep the people
were that would be
[14:42]
» that would be kind of horrible.
>> Yeah, he didn't want to be grinding a
[14:45]
coffee.
>> There's probably nothing left.
[14:54]
» So that's why
we really find some way to do some
[14:58]
spraying
is terrible.
[15:01]
» Some spraying of
>> the weeds.
[15:03]
» Okay.
>> Grass
[15:05]
is really bad.
>> So, how would we go about finding
[15:09]
someone to do that? You're looking for
someone who is certified to spray
[15:14]
herbicides.
[15:17]
» I was hoping that somebody in the
service department
[15:23]
Dan Davis's
service has his commercial license. I
[15:29]
haven't talked to Dan.
>> They came last year.
[15:33]
» Maybe even for the last two years. I'd
have to ask Sid, excuse me. I'd have to
[15:38]
ask Sarah. She would know better. I know
that they've at least come the last
[15:42]
year. I think it might be the last two
years. And we have just provided the
[15:47]
material and Concord has been kind
enough to donate like
[15:51]
» their time,
>> their time to us. We haven't had to pay
[15:53]
them, but it's always been worked out
between
[15:57]
rotor service department and tack board.
>> Rick, did you happen to call Tim today?
[16:05]
» I did.
>> Okay. I was going to see if you could
[16:08]
mention that to him when you call, but
I'll give him a call then.
[16:10]
» I'll talk to him when I when I see him.
>> Okay.
[16:13]
» About it. See if we can do something.
>> Yeah. Cuz I know Dan Davis told me that
[16:17]
he had done it for us before. I just
don't know how we would go about buying
[16:21]
the product because in the past we just
used our existing stock and now that
[16:28]
that's gone I don't know how we would go
about buying or I don't even know what
[16:32]
we're buying. So he should know.
>> Yeah.
[16:36]
» Well, even if we buy it from Concord
what we need.
[16:39]
» Yeah.
>> Let's see if we can work that out.
[16:41]
» Okay.
>> With Tim
[16:44]
is Tim Brown who's the head of the
service department of Concord. We've
[16:48]
been making connections with all the
service departments around
[16:52]
Thompson, Concord, Hampton
Banner. So,
[16:58]
county been mending bridges and
talking to people and they've been very
[17:04]
gracious and very willing to help. So,
>> did you make a decision about that piece
[17:11]
of equipment you were thinking of buying
from mentor?
[17:14]
» That is what he is talking to Tim Brown
about. We are taking that over to
[17:18]
Concord to have them inspect it. Um tell
us if there's anything that they see
[17:24]
that we need and then show us how to
work it.
[17:27]
» Okay.
>> And uh yeah.
[17:29]
» So we bought it.
>> No, we haven't bought it yet.
[17:31]
» We're thinking about Still thinking
about buying it.
[17:34]
» Yeah. We got to see if it needs a bunch
of repairs. Oh, it doesn't look like it.
[17:40]
They were talking about a cracked tank
and the cracked tank that we found was
[17:45]
just the fiberglass
around the actual tank. It's like an
[17:50]
insulated tank. Um, but Conqueror is
going to go over that with us and then
[17:55]
we're going to see how it works and if
it works for us, which everyone I've
[17:58]
talked to said that's what you guys need
for three people on your road. And
[18:05]
so that's where we're at now. I'll get
back to if it works. All right. And see
[18:10]
what kind of numbers we get. We're
looking putting plans together to get
[18:15]
rid of what we don't need that we some
of the stuff is based on
[18:22]
a larger crew. Okay. Five, six, seven
guys where we have three full-time and
[18:29]
two part-time or a couple other
part-time. the part-time like Rudy and
[18:34]
Ben, they both are busy in the summer
because they have companies. And so
[18:41]
we're trying to tailor it to our needs
and what we can do and
[18:47]
work our equipment that way.
>> Okay.
[18:52]
» And that's it.
>> That's it.
[18:54]
» Okay.
Parks and facilities. Um, we got a quote
[19:00]
from someone to clean up the playground
at the Leroy School. I don't know if
[19:04]
you've been over there, but there is a
sort of a dome climbing structure that
[19:09]
is absolutely and completely overgrown
with huge saplings. They're going to get
[19:14]
in there and remove them, including the
roots. It is a horrible job. And clean
[19:20]
up everything all around it so that it
can be usable. I mean, if we're going to
[19:23]
have it, we should make it usable for
our folks. And so, um, I would like to
[19:27]
ask you guys, the quote we got was for
$2,450
[19:32]
and, uh, they're ready to start like
very soon. So, my question for you is,
[19:38]
is it okay if I go ahead and sign that
quote and we go ahead and agree? I'm
[19:43]
sorry. It's $2,430.
[19:46]
» I make a motion approve that quote.
>> I'll second.
[19:53]
Linda Bhennings.
>> Hi.
[19:55]
» Rich Vanel.
>> Hi.
[19:56]
» Roy Gray.
>> Hi.
[19:58]
» Thank you. I'll get in touch with him
tomorrow then and get the sign copy back
[20:02]
to him, which I will do after the
meeting. Um, as you know, the roof over
[20:08]
this and over that is going to be
replaced and it starts on Monday
[20:14]
hopefully. And I um suggested to the
roofer that he coordinate with the chief
[20:20]
about where to put his dump trailer for
the the debris that's going to come from
[20:24]
that. Some of which I found lying out in
the stones today. There was a piece of
[20:28]
roof out there. So we got to get this
done. Um so that's just an update that's
[20:33]
going to be starting. Um next zoning
Noel.
[20:38]
» Yes. We had 11 permits this month. A new
house on Breakman. Two accessory
[20:44]
structures, one on Breman, one on
Jennings. Rear deck on Milen. Two
[20:49]
fences, one on Proctor, one on Call.
Three additions to houses, one on
[20:56]
Jennings, two on Warren, ground pool on
Call the sign at Ruben Road,
[21:03]
the chicken
beside subway. And uh we have a variance
[21:10]
request for uh September 22nd at uh 6591
Taylor Road. They're requesting an
[21:17]
accessory structure that's larger than
what's peritted.
[21:22]
» Okay, you've been busy. Gosh, that's a
lot.
[21:27]
» Yay, cuz Leroy is awesome. All right.
Um,
[21:34]
I wanted to remind everybody that
Saturday, September 19th, will be the uh
[21:41]
fall garage sale for Leroy. Uh, that is
going to be sponsored by the rec board
[21:49]
and um, get out and enjoy. I know I was
told Leslie told me today there's 12
[21:55]
people signed up, but that usually a lot
kind of sign up at the end or right
[21:59]
before. So, that's coming up. It's
always fun when it's garage sale day in
[22:03]
Leroy. Um, also, we received a donation
of office furniture from the Giag County
[22:10]
Commissioners, and so all the furniture
that's in the office there is um new to
[22:15]
us. Certainly not new to them, but um
they're getting ready to sell the old um
[22:21]
470 office complex there in Shard. It
was full of furniture. And um I
[22:26]
contacted the county administrator and I
said, "Hey." and she said, "Yeah, they
[22:31]
had actually already passed a uh
resolution to donate that furniture to
[22:35]
any political subdivision that asked for
it." So, our guys went over and picked
[22:39]
it up and brought it back. And so, our
old furniture we're going to be posting
[22:43]
on the website available for sale to
anybody in the county that our township
[22:48]
that might want to purchase that. Um, so
keep your eyes open for that because
[22:52]
that's coming, I guess, pretty soon,
right?
[22:54]
» It will be. Yeah.
>> Okay. Um,
[22:58]
I would like to ask if we can do a
budget work session. Last year when you
[23:05]
and I got elected, we sat with uh Lexi
and she went over the budget with us
[23:09]
line by line. And I thought that was
really beneficial. And so I would like
[23:13]
to suggest sometime probably late
October
[23:16]
» that we uh set a date for a work session
to just go through the budget to all of
[23:20]
us together.
>> Sound good? So, so we'll count on you to
[23:24]
pick out a date when you enjoy this time
in.
[23:26]
» Okay.
>> Okay. Um, also on September 16th, the I
[23:31]
guess it's the chambers of commerce
>> are putting together a get together in
[23:36]
um at Paysville Township Park and have
invited representatives from the
[23:40]
different political subdivisions to come
there and just talk about their
[23:43]
accomplishments this year. And I said I
would do it. Um, so if you guys have
[23:48]
anything that you want to uh make sure I
mention, shoot me a text or an email or
[23:54]
something. So, I think
[23:59]
» Ruby is really good at that, even if he
doesn't like to admit it, but I am
[24:02]
willing to do it if you guys just make
sure you tell me what you want me to say
[24:08]
or trust me to say it. Um, I feel like
we've had a good year. I think feel like
[24:13]
we're doing really good making good
progress on rebuilding bridges with our
[24:17]
surrounding fellow public servants and
um getting our our roads it seems like
[24:24]
you guys are doing a really good job
getting the roads sorted out to the
[24:27]
degree that we can with the resources
that we have. Um I did want to ask you
[24:32]
the most recent township association
magazine talked about a second round of
[24:36]
OPWC money. Are we participating in
that?
[24:43]
When we the original round was done,
they accepted 14 and we were 15.
[24:52]
The somebody dropped out, so we moved up
to 14.
[24:56]
» Okay.
>> Okay. But they don't want to they don't
[25:01]
want us to get our hopes up yet.
>> Okay.
[25:04]
» So, there's
>> there's a chance we will get something.
[25:07]
There's a it the chances are getting
better all the time.
[25:11]
» Okay.
>> But yeah, they said don't don't count on
[25:15]
it until you get your final application.
And so that's we're we're sick.
[25:20]
» That's great news as well.
>> You didn't turn off your phone.
[25:29]
» Um I just wanted to make sure that we
were aware of that and and trying for if
[25:34]
we could.
>> Yeah. Yeah. That's the small government
[25:36]
one. So, you have the OKWC and then you
have the small.
[25:41]
» Okay, sounds good. Um,
>> gosh, I think that's everything I have.
[25:47]
Do you want to do the applications and
then you got to do that?
[25:54]
We make a motion that we uh appoint John
>> me
[25:59]
» to
>> me whatever
[26:02]
» uh part time firefighters he does he
need to be probationary
[26:10]
» no
[26:13]
I mean he needs to be retrained
>> probationary and
[26:19]
» Ryan Crew Baker is same
[26:26]
firefighter
[26:34]
requirements here.
[26:40]
Anyway,
>> I'll second that.
[26:46]
» Linda Bhenny,
>> hi.
[26:48]
» Rich Panel,
>> hi.
[26:49]
» Rory Gray,
>> hi. Sorry for forgetting that.
[26:52]
» No,
>> I know it's important.
[26:56]
» Does anybody have anything else that we
need to talk about this evening?
[27:01]
» Um, the only thing it's been mentioned
before, so we got the bleachers done,
[27:07]
new wood put on them, uh, here at the
Ball Diamonds. Um, they need to be
[27:11]
sealed. They need a coating of,
you know, something to seal them.
[27:18]
It's like $1,850.
I don't know if there's anybody out
[27:22]
there that would be willing to
volunteer. I mean, it shouldn't be that
[27:26]
hard of a job. They're flat boards just
to
[27:30]
» They have a lot of bird poop on them.
Just saying.
[27:32]
» Like a lot.
>> Yeah. It's like It's like the geese are
[27:37]
getting up there.
It's gross.
[27:40]
» Yeah. I mean, that's just, you know,
people are talking about volunteering
[27:43]
and so just throwing it out there rather
than us paying somebody, you know,
[27:49]
somebody wants to get a group of four or
five people each take a diamond.
[27:55]
» How many bleachers are there?
>> Basically, there's two at each diamond,
[28:00]
but there's not um the one on 86 only
has one.
[28:05]
» And a couple are aluminum.
>> Yeah, a couple are aluminum. So, there's
[28:08]
going to be
six diamonds, probably about 10.
[28:14]
» And you know, it just has to be rolled
on the top and seal the ends and
[28:19]
» you know, get some bare stain or some,
you know, penetrating stain. Just you
[28:25]
had to wait. Treated lumber, you have to
wait before you can apply it. So
[28:31]
just throwing it out.
>> And it works better if you brush it in
[28:34]
than roll it on. If you roll it on, you
need to brush it in.
[28:37]
» Yeah. Otherwise, it won't see it.
[28:43]
» Pay for supplies.
>> Yeah. Township pay for supplies. Yes.
[28:48]
Open my mouth and certifies.
[28:53]
» Yes.
>> Somehow. Yes.
[28:56]
» Cuz I just about spent out the last I
had for the playground.
[29:01]
» We can talk to the people buckets of
money for stuff like that.
[29:06]
should only be a couple hundred bucks,
>> right?
[29:08]
» Yes.
>> Is that something that could be put out
[29:11]
to the all the soft or the the ball kids
and not the kids, but maybe the parents,
[29:17]
» right?
>> Utilize it on on a regular basis. Maybe
[29:20]
they maybe we'd have a ton of people
from that group because, you know,
[29:24]
that's a lot of people. Maybe they if we
could somehow get it
[29:28]
» them notified the Facebook page or the
Johnson sites. One thing we can do, you
[29:35]
know, that the um we added a question to
the survey about a volunteer core and
[29:40]
there are some people that have have
said they would. However, what I'm able
[29:45]
to see is a box with just a bunch of
names in it, but not together. So, I
[29:51]
contacted the lady who's running that
for us today about can you filter this
[29:56]
so that I can get these names? and I
haven't heard back from her yet, but
[29:59]
that might be a bunch of people that we
could also reach out to. I just I can't
[30:04]
see it yet.
[30:08]
» So, I hope all of you have participated
in the survey. We've gotten some pretty
[30:13]
good response from it, and it's so
helpful to have a real good sense of the
[30:18]
direction you want us to take on some of
these different things. It's it's really
[30:21]
been beneficial to have that, and I
appreciate that the planning commission
[30:25]
helped us with that. Um, so Roy, do you
want to kind of be in charge of the next
[30:32]
steps for getting these things painted?
>> Yeah.
[30:37]
» Okay.
>> We'll uh we get those names and then
[30:40]
I'll talk to softball, see if they have
any money, see if they have some people
[30:44]
that might want to help
>> and we'll just kind of put it out.
[30:47]
» Okay.
>> You know, anybody else? We can get it
[30:51]
either on the Droy page or the um our
Facebook Tom the Township Facebook.
[30:57]
» Probably both of them would be good.
>> Usually Jeremy, if you ask him, he'll
[31:01]
push it from our page to the Lew
People's page. So,
[31:05]
» okay. Um you can put on the list. I'll
help.
[31:11]
» Thank you.
>> Um anything else for discussion from
[31:15]
anybody? Anything from the audience?
>> Me.
[31:18]
» Go ahead.
get up on this. I think I got something
[31:22]
very important for the community and
it's it's definitely affecting me and
[31:25]
I'm sure it's affecting some other
people. Uh, everybody probably knows on
[31:31]
November 15th we lose our copper uh
telephone line. They're gone. Byebye.
[31:38]
» I saw your email. I have no clue on
that. What's going on?
[31:43]
» I see. That's what I'm want. I'm
flabbergasted that all you don't know
[31:48]
about this. Didn't And didn't AT&T send
things to everybody to tell them that
[31:54]
the copper line is gone
>> several years ago. That went out.
[31:58]
Several years ago.
>> No, I can bring them in. I've got two of
[32:02]
them already over the last few few
months. And actually, they sent them out
[32:05]
about six, nine months ago.
>> You have to be an ongoing customer of
[32:09]
AT&T for your uh to get the
communication. Not everybody has uh home
[32:16]
phones any longer. So they only will
send that out if you are a present
[32:21]
customer.
>> But we don't have fiber optics here
[32:25]
unless you want to get spectrum.
>> So they have a monopoly. They can charge
[32:29]
whatever they want, which is ridiculous.
Um I don't really want their TV service.
[32:35]
Um
all the other communities have fiber
[32:39]
optics. In fact, there's a few on here
in Leroy here and there that's been here
[32:43]
for a long time, too, is what I'm
finding out. Um, but we need fiber
[32:48]
optics here. Perry's just got the fiber
optics in from kinetics. Um, Thompson's
[32:54]
got it.
Along had it. Pays Township has it.
[32:59]
Paysville has it. Everybody's got it.
Shard. But we don't. Why are we left out
[33:06]
of this whole ordeal? I I don't
understand. we should have the
[33:09]
opportunity of being able to connect the
fiber optics as opposed to spectrum. Um
[33:16]
I'm not going to deal with Spectrum. Um
I don't like them. I don't trust them
[33:20]
and I'm sick of Direct TV and I'm s and
basically the same thing. They all get
[33:26]
the same shows. So anyways,
I won't have uh let's see, since I don't
[33:32]
have copper lines, I can't have my my
service for my security unless I go with
[33:39]
wireless and it's going to cost me a
fortune to do that in my shop at my
[33:44]
home. Um so I spoke to Kinetics, that's
who's doing this all in the area and
[33:49]
probably AT&T has done some in the past.
In fact, there is some AT&T that's on it
[33:56]
goes part of that way to Carter. Another
one runs all the way over to Niffin
[34:03]
where the tower is the cell tower and
it's been and this has been there for
[34:09]
years 20 years or better and but we
can't tie into it. You probably know
[34:14]
about this.
>> I know this by
[34:20]
you. Yeah. Yeah. And so I um I would
really like these fiber optics because
[34:26]
we would be giving it great service at a
very low price compared to all this
[34:30]
other especially if you want to dump
spectrum and you're tired of that. You
[34:34]
have that opportunity. Um I I believe we
need it and I think it's wrong that our
[34:39]
community is left out. And in speaking
to kinetics, it's real simple. All you
[34:44]
got to do is make a phone call and say,
"Hey, yeah, we want it." the more people
[34:48]
that call, especially our board that
responds to them, um they'll they'll
[34:55]
come out with the engineers, they'll go
over everything and get everything set
[35:00]
up and install it here like they've just
done Perry, like they just done
[35:03]
Thompson. Um it it would be great. Um we
need it. We have to have it. I would
[35:10]
like it. The only other what thing I can
do now um since I don't want to go the
[35:14]
spectrum route is I have to go with
Starlink. It's the only thing I can do
[35:19]
and that it's it's kind of disappointing
that we're stuck with very little
[35:25]
options to have communications these
days and I don't have to use my phone to
[35:30]
do it. I like using my computer. Uh it's
a lot better for me.
[35:34]
» So do you have a number there for
kinetic?
[35:37]
» Yes, I do.
>> What is it? It is 8449902887.
[35:45]
Everybody write this down and make phone
call. Come on, Al. Write it on your arm
[35:48]
if you want a tablet. Did
>> you find out what their what their how
[35:52]
much the payment is for the month?
>> Yes, it wasn't a whole lot of money.
[35:57]
It's like 50 bucks or something like
that. It was It was very reasonable
[36:00]
connection. And and and and who who did
I talk about this that is so happy that
[36:05]
it just came on his street on Valentine?
Chuck Flo. I think we all know. And he's
[36:11]
tickled pink.
>> Repeat the number.
[36:13]
» Oh, I'm sorry everybody. Let me go over
this a few times with the number. It's
[36:16]
8449902887
[36:23]
and that's kinetics. Um there'll be nice
lady that'll answer. She'll be very
[36:29]
workable. The people are great. I mean
>> the group on 322 there
[36:33]
» I don't know that that I can't tell you
I didn't ask that
[36:37]
but you know that that would be great
for our community and then again what
[36:41]
are everybody going to do about their
security systems in there that they if
[36:45]
you have security you have to go through
that copper mine otherwise how you going
[36:50]
to have security
unless you go the same route and you
[36:54]
have to buy the whole unit reach your
locations to go and send it up in the
[37:00]
Yeah, on our end we have Spectrum.
[37:04]
» I don't know. Well, here's here. Let me
explain about Spectrum. Here's another
[37:09]
» We're not going there. We know what to
do. You want us to call
[37:12]
» I can't get Spectrum unless I pay
$20,000
[37:15]
because that's what they want to run at
900 ft to my home, a cable. $20,000
[37:22]
kinetics and see what we can find out
that
[37:25]
» I I think that's very important for our
community.
[37:28]
» I think that is too. We thank you for
letting us know.
[37:30]
» Well, thank you everyone.
>> Thank you.
[37:32]
» Thanks, Lee.
>> Anything else from the audience tonight?
[37:36]
» Our next go.
>> Uh, since the survey I think was talked
[37:40]
at the special meeting, when is the
survey going to be open till
[37:44]
» um, we were going to let it run for
about two months and I think it's been
[37:47]
running for a couple of weeks already.
Yeah,
[37:49]
» really good response like in the first
two days almost 100 people. It was I was
[37:53]
surprised and pleased. So, um, yeah, a
couple months. I'll get a firm date and
[38:00]
I will announce that on the 22nd.
Let's close our survey.
[38:06]
Anything else?
All right. Is the 22nd. Thank you
[38:12]
everybody.
