[0:00]
I was in this house today.
[0:03]
Todd and Tommy Scott are doing a good job. Yeah.
[0:10]
They've done a good job anyway, but I mean, that's the one you have to lie to go to. Right, nice to have. Looking better.
[0:23]
Oh, there he is.
[0:39]
We can learn.
[0:53]
Okay, it's 530.
[0:55]

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America
[1:04]

[1:17]
I pledge allegiance to these Texas one state under God,
[1:25]

[1:25]
the invitation, please?
[1:27]
Yes.
[1:33]
Let us pray.
[1:35]
Direct us, O Lord, in all our doings,
[1:37]
with your most gracious faper.
[1:38]
And further us, with your continual help,
[1:40]
that in all our works begun continued and ended in you,
[1:43]
we may glorify your holy name, and finally by your mercy
[1:47]
may obtain everlasting life.
[1:49]
We come to you at this time asking that your presence might
[1:52]
be upon this meeting of the leaders of our city,
[1:55]

[1:57]

[2:02]
Make them wise, fair, and impartial in their decisions through their work, accomplish
[2:07]
your holy and gracious will in our midst so that all that they do might be for the greater
[2:12]

[2:17]
Thank you, Ralph.
[2:21]
I don't see any public comments on our Board of Adjustment meeting, so we'll move on to
[2:28]
You can send agenda items approval of the minutes from the July 6th, 2026 regular called meeting or the regular called Board of Adjustment Meeting to have a motion.
[2:40]
I'm going to tip her, okay, I have a motion and a second, all right, any of a motion and a second, any discussion?
[2:51]
All right, all in favor?
[2:53]
Any opposed?
[2:55]
Any opposed?
[2:55]
Okay, motion carries.
[2:56]
Alright, so 532 public hearing, the Board of Adjustments will hear written and oral comments
[3:05]
regarding a request for a variance from the zoning ordinance.
[3:08]
This variance request is for a self-storage mini storage building nine feet within the
[3:14]
15-foot side yard setbacks in the commercial business district at 1A, Block 70, Holden
[3:22]
addition. The physical address is 102 East Houston. So, do we have. Oh, scots here? Okay.
[3:33]
Does anyone have questions? Do we have neighbor? Anybody? Okay. All
[3:42]
right. So, we're going
[3:43]
to end that hearing at 532. We'll move on to the regular agenda item. Number one, discussion
[3:50]
and possible action to approve a variance from the zoning ordinance. This variance request
[3:55]
less is for a self-storage mini storage building,
[3:58]
nine feet within the 15 foot side yard setbacks
[4:02]
in the commercial district at Locke 1, A,
[4:05]
Locke 70, Holden Edition.
[4:07]
The physical address is 102, East Houston.
[4:11]
Do I have a motion?
[4:16]
Mayor, I'd like to hear what the man is going to be doing.
[4:19]
Oh, okay.
[4:21]
Scott, would you like to come up and tell us
[4:25]
what you got going on?
[4:28]
Okay, I'm sorry, I didn't get your life. Is it Haslam?
[4:34]
Haslam. Okay. Thank you. Also here in the today, we have a existing storage unit that
[4:40]
was built when the property had six lots on it. So the setback at the time was five feet
[4:47]
from the property line. And now we've changed that by removing the internal lot lines and
[4:53]
we'd like to build another storage unit in line with the other one basically for continuity
[4:57]
reasons. And that's what we're asking for permission to just build those second
[5:03]
building in line with the first one according to the map that was handed in
[5:07]
with this. Okay. Any questions?
[5:16]
All right. Thank you. All right. Do I have a
[5:20]
motion?
[5:22]
I have a motion in a second. Any further discussion? All in favor? Any
[5:28]
Any opposed?
[5:30]
Okay.
[5:30]
Motion carries.
[5:31]
All right.
[5:32]
It's 5.34.
[5:33]
We will move now to our regular city council meeting.
[5:36]
All right.
[5:40]
So I see no public comments on this section.
[5:44]
So consent agenda items.
[5:47]
Approved the Lanow City Council minutes from September 8th, 2026, regular meeting.
[5:52]
And approved Liz Bash to a two-year term on the Lanow Main Street Advisory Board.
[5:56]
Liz is over there in the corner.
[5:58]
If you don't know her, she's here.
[5:59]
here. Thank you for coming.
[6:04]
Do you have a motion?
[6:06]
I'll move to the floor.
[6:07]
Okay. Did I hear a second down there?
[6:11]
Okay. All the motion in a second. Any further discussion?
[6:15]
Okay. All in favor?
[6:16]
All right. Any opposed?
[6:19]
Motion carries. All right. Before we go on, I want to introduce
[6:22]
our judge Rob Hardy. We thank you for being here.
[6:25]
Judge. Thank you. All right. Right now
[6:29]
I'll read this first and then I'll gavill out.
[6:32]
Executive closed session.
[6:33]
Number one, City Council will convene into executive session in accordance with the Texas government code chapter 551.071 to consult with the city attorney regarding legal matters concerning the Landon Lane GST project, which is ground storage unit, storage tank project and damages from Maguire iron.
[6:52]
Number two, the City Council will convene into executive session in accordance with Texas
[6:57]
Government Code Chapter 551.074, personnel matters, to deliberate the appointment, employment,
[7:04]
performance, evaluation duties, compensation, discipline, and or dismissal of the mayor.
[7:09]
All right, so 536 will go into close session.
[7:15]
That's it.
[7:16]
She's bound to be allowed in executive sections as well.
[7:19]
Yes sir.
[7:19]
Thank you.
[7:24]
That's right.
[7:34]
You all let me know how it came out.
[7:37]
Go on and carry.
[7:39]
Welcome to the room.
[7:44]
Hey?
[18:22]
. . . . . . . .
[20:23]
.
[20:24]
.
[20:27]
.
[22:05]
I'm going to go back to the last.
[22:07]
I'm going to go back to the last.
[22:09]
I'm going to go back to the last.
[22:11]
I don't think you're going to be so happy.
[22:20]
I'm going to do this.
[22:21]
I'm going to go back to the last.
[22:23]
I've got a lot of things here.
[27:30]
.
[27:40]
.
[27:41]
.
[27:53]
.
[29:55]
I'm out there, and I'll be out there.
[29:57]
And I'll take you back.
[29:59]
Report that, baby.
[30:26]
No, no, no, no, no, no, no,
[37:07]
.
[37:08]
.
[44:39]
I am so sorry.
[44:43]
I was thinking about what he did.
[44:47]
How do you think about it?
[44:47]
I don't think he did.
[44:49]
Oh, I think he did.
[44:51]
You'll see.
[44:53]
Oh, I think he did.
[44:55]
I'm sorry.
[44:57]
You're going to see.
[59:02]
We've wasted too much time on this night, for sure.
[1:00:10]
All right, gabbling in at 6.29. Let's read this. The city council will reconvene an open session for discussion and public action regarding the Landon Lane GST project and damages from McGuire. Do I hear a motion? Make a motion to authorize the mayor to execute settlement with McGuire and within the parameters discussed in closed session. Okay. I have a motion in a second. Any further discussion? All right. All in favor? Aye. Any opposed?
[1:00:40]
Okay? Motion carries. City Council will reconvene into open session for discussion and possible action concerning the appointment employment performance evaluation duties, compensation, discipline and or dismissal of mayor. Do I have a remotion?
[1:00:54]
Hearing no motion, we move on. All right. Public hearing, 630. The City of Atlanta will hold a public hearing on the proposed FY 202627 city budget.
[1:01:05]
The proposed budget for FY 2627 for the City of Lano will raise more revenue from total property taxes than last year's budget by the amount of $194,546, which is a 13.53% increase from last year's budget.
[1:01:25]
The property tax revenue to be raised from new property tax, property added to the tax rule this year is $13,018.
[1:01:33]
$15. Okay.
[1:01:39]
Kim, do we have comments or anything? Okay. Moving round on.
[1:01:46]
Huh? What?
[1:01:51]
Dabbles. Okay. Do I need to read number two first?
[1:01:55]
631. 631. Okay. Help me. Do I need to read number two now? No. I only read number one.
[1:02:05]
Okay. Number two, City Council will hold the second of two public hearings for the fiscal
[1:02:11]
year 202627 property tax rate. Okay. Any comments on that or okay. All right. 631.
[1:02:21]
Regular agenda items. Number one, discussion and possible action to approve ordinance 1606
[1:02:27]
regarding an amendment to the budget for FY 2526.
[1:02:43]
Yeah.
[1:02:49]
Do I have a motion?
[1:03:00]
I have a motion.
[1:03:02]
I have a motion.
[1:03:03]
I have a motion.
[1:03:04]
I have a motion.
[1:03:05]
Any further discussion?
[1:03:07]
All right.
[1:03:07]
All in favor?
[1:03:09]
Any opposed?
[1:03:11]
Okay.
[1:03:11]
Motion carries.
[1:03:12]
No.
[1:03:13]
No.
[1:03:13]
No.
[1:03:16]
No.
[1:03:37]
The master's fee schedule related to the budget includes a 3% increase in water and an increase in electric demand charge.
[1:03:47]
Okay,
[1:03:50]
do I have a motion?
[1:03:53]
I made two for you.
[1:03:55]
Do you have a motion?
[1:03:55]
I need a second.
[1:03:57]
My second.
[1:03:59]
Okay, any further discussion?
[1:04:01]
All right, all in favor?
[1:04:03]
Aye.
[1:04:04]
Any opposed?
[1:04:05]
Aye.
[1:04:06]
Okay, motion carries.
[1:04:07]
Number three, discussion of possible action-approving ordinance 1607 adopting a budget for the fiscal year beginning 10-1-26 and ending 9-30-27.
[1:04:24]
I would like to provide you as we did include this as a report item that if you wanted
[1:04:31]
to consider a motion to approve, you could also include with the inclusion of current
[1:04:39]
council compensation of $9,600 so if that's something that you could do in addition to
[1:04:47]
just your regular approval of the budget if you so chose.
[1:04:51]
Okay.
[1:04:54]
I make a motion to approve the budget adopting, excuse me, a budget of the fiscal
[1:05:04]
year beginning 10, 1, up 26, and ending 9, 30, up 27. With the addition bringing back
[1:05:11]
council funds, I don't feel like it is prudent of us to deny future council members
[1:05:21]
compensation. Okay, I have a motion.
[1:05:27]
That's second. All right, I have a second. All right, so this budget is adopted by a
[1:05:34]
roll call vote. A motion has been made to approve ordinance 1607.
[1:05:38]
Can I ask a question just to clarify? The property tax amount you read, I think, didn't we say
[1:05:45]
that was an error? It was more like $36,000?
[1:05:48]
Well, I think initially was that I think it was a 43,000 pair.
[1:05:54]
Yeah, it was correct and also you're a Jedi.
[1:05:56]
The 194 that she read is.
[1:05:58]
Yes, that's last year's.
[1:06:00]
Oh, okay.
[1:06:01]
But that's, yeah, that's all right.
[1:06:02]
Yeah, so what's on your actual Jedi?
[1:06:04]
It's correct, and what's on your knee, and what's correct.
[1:06:06]
Okay.
[1:06:07]
That's all right, that's correct.
[1:06:09]
Okay, all right.
[1:06:12]
So a motion has been made to approve ordinance 1607
[1:06:15]
and to set and approve the municipal budget
[1:06:17]
for the 2627 fiscal year. I ask the city secretary to please call the roll.
[1:06:23]
Mary.
[1:06:25]
Yes.
[1:06:27]
Travis.
[1:06:28]
Yes.
[1:06:29]
Kelly.
[1:06:30]
Yes.
[1:06:32]
Addy.
[1:06:33]
Yay.
[1:06:34]
Kara.
[1:06:35]
Yes.
[1:06:36]
And you can take my council pay and just add it to whatever line item in the budget that
[1:06:41]
needs it.
[1:06:42]
Okay.
[1:06:43]
All right, the motion to approve Ordinance 1607 and to set and approve the municipal budget for the 2627 fiscal year passes on a five to zero vote.
[1:06:54]
Thank you.
[1:06:56]
All right, so now we go to number four, discuss and discussion and possible action regarding the approval of Ordinance 1608 to adopt the tax rate for
[1:07:12]
the 2026 tax year. So this is similar?
[1:07:21]
Yeah. Okay. It's similar in terms of needing a special
[1:07:26]
yes so I need a motion.
[1:07:30]
I'd like to discuss something first. I'll do that. Actually we need
[1:07:35]
a motion first. Okay.
[1:07:39]
I move to approve ordinance 1608 and that the property tax rate be adopted
[1:07:43]
of a tax rate of 0.5626.0 per $100 of assessed value, which is effectively a 4.44% increase in the tax rate.
[1:07:54]
Okay, I need a second.
[1:07:57]
My second.
[1:07:59]
Okay, I have a motion in a second, adding?
[1:08:02]
Yes.
[1:08:03]
I voted against raising this tax rate of 0.5626.0 per $100 of taxable.
[1:08:13]
value back in August.
[1:08:17]
After reviewing the tax rate worksheet, the no-new revenue calculations and conversations
[1:08:24]
with property owners, I believe the council should adopt a lower rate that keeps the property
[1:08:31]
tax revenue about even with last year.
[1:08:35]
Because the city's taxable property base has declined, keeping the same rate as last year
[1:08:42]
would generate less property tax revenue than was collected last year.
[1:08:49]
A tax rate of 0.54828 dollars per 100 taxable value would produce about the same revenue
[1:09:01]
as last year.
[1:09:03]
At 0.54828, the rate would be 3.21% above the no-new revenue rate, 1.78% above last year's
[1:09:22]
adopted tax rate and 0.0143 below the previously published proposed rate of 0.56260 per 100 taxable
[1:09:38]
value. For the average homestead this would result in an estimated tax increase of around
[1:09:46]
down $54.73 are 6.29% compared with an estimated increase of $78.81 or 9.05% under the
[1:10:05]
previously proposed rate of the $54.73 increase about $26 is a higher house value and about
[1:10:18]
$29 is the rate above the no new revenue. The interest in sinking rate would remain at
[1:10:28]
at 0.20562 providing the funds necessary for debt service.
[1:10:35]
The reduction of 0.01432 from the previously proposed total rate would therefore be taken
[1:10:46]
from the maintenance and operation rate.
[1:10:48]
But the proposed maintenance and operation rate would be 0.34266 resulting in a total
[1:10:59]
property rate of 0.54828 per $100 of taxable value.
[1:11:09]
I'd like to make a motion.
[1:11:11]
I'd like to move that the property tax rate be increased.
[1:11:16]
We already have a motion.
[1:11:18]
Sorry.
[1:11:19]
Yeah.
[1:11:20]
We already have a motion.
[1:11:21]
We have a motion.
[1:11:22]
But can she explain what she's thinking
[1:11:24]
without making any motion?
[1:11:26]
I'm trying to follow all of that.
[1:11:28]
It says you can imagine hard things.
[1:11:29]
Yes.
[1:11:29]
But what I am thinking is that if we make the rate 0.54828,
[1:11:39]
date, we will collect the same amount of revenue as we did close to as we did this last
[1:11:49]
year.
[1:11:50]
We have to raise the rate because our tax base has declined.
[1:11:58]
So we don't want to stay with the tax rate that we are previously, that we had last year
[1:12:04]
because we would be losing revenue.
[1:12:07]
I'm proposing that we approve a tax rate that gives us the equal amount of revenue as
[1:12:16]
we collected last year.
[1:12:19]
Okay.
[1:12:20]
So lower than what's in the budget right now?
[1:12:23]
Yes.
[1:12:24]
But there's no, I mean, we just approved the budget, right?
[1:12:28]
So I don't think through-
[1:12:29]
And my understanding is that then we turn around and make a budget amendment just like
[1:12:34]
like we do, just like we did a few minutes ago.
[1:12:48]
I think we had one person not vote for the fee schedule.
[1:12:55]
I hear what Addy saying, but then when we all vote for the budget, that was the budget
[1:12:59]
off.
[1:13:00]
So we kind of feel like we have to put the budget vote at the very end or you can't vote
[1:13:04]
for a budget and then vote to change the number in the budget because you just voted for
[1:13:09]
it.
[1:13:09]
You can't do it, it makes sense.
[1:13:11]
This is a statutory order you have.
[1:13:14]
Okay, great.
[1:13:18]
Yeah, we have discussed that in half.
[1:13:20]
It doesn't make sense.
[1:13:22]
I know we've done it in half.
[1:13:24]
Should this have been brought up during the hearing section?
[1:13:29]
Oh, you mean the tax rate hearing.
[1:13:39]
But we've already passed that.
[1:13:40]
I think, Mayor, if I may, I'll also point it out that if this is not approved by the
[1:13:52]
this evening, by the 29th of reverse, doesn't have a new revenue rate.
[1:14:00]
Okay.
[1:14:01]
So we have a motion in a second.
[1:14:05]
The motion has been made to approve ordinance 1608, and that the property tax be increased by the adoption of a tax rate of
[1:14:12]
the 0.56260 per $100 of assessed value, which is effectively a 4.44% increase in the tax rate.
[1:14:25]
I ask the City Secretary to please call the roll.
[1:14:27]
Larry?
[1:14:28]
Yes.
[1:14:30]
Travis?
[1:14:31]
Yes.
[1:14:32]
Kelly?
[1:14:33]
No.
[1:14:35]
Addy?
[1:14:36]
No.
[1:14:39]
Kara?
[1:14:39]
Yes.
[1:14:41]
Okay.
[1:14:41]
But the motion to approve ordinance 1608 and the property tax rate will be increased by the adoption tax rate of 0.562600 per $100 of assessed value, which is effectively a 4.44% increase in the tax rate and passes on a 3.
[1:15:00]
To vote. All right, moving on. Number five, discussion and possible action, approving ordinance 1609 to adopt an annual fee and
[1:15:14]
Hello, or FY 2026, Kara,
[1:15:21]
okay?
[1:15:22]
All right, do I hear a motion?
[1:15:25]
I'm going to have to approve.
[1:15:26]
Okay, I need a second.
[1:15:28]
Any further discussion?
[1:15:30]
All right, all in favor?
[1:15:32]
No.
[1:15:32]
Hi.
[1:15:33]
Any opposed?
[1:15:34]
Okay, motion carries.
[1:15:35]
On number six, we're going to pull that one
[1:15:37]
and talk about that another day.
[1:15:41]
Number seven, discussion of possible action.
[1:15:45]
to convey a three-feet of exal adjacent to parcel 28 or 28624, so that is Todd Wright.
[1:15:57]
Thank you for being here, Todd, and for all your efforts.
[1:16:02]
Again, Marin Council, this was previously discussed through a manager's report on August 14.
[1:16:08]
We noted that based on the improvement that was happening to this property and the benefit
[1:16:13]
to the neighborhood. Council may wish to consider or wish to have this item placed on future
[1:16:18]
agenda, which is why it's on the agenda this evening. We have received a copy of the survey,
[1:16:24]
which is available at the DIAS, which shows the encroachment on ex-all. I will say that this
[1:16:34]
I will say that this is something that's happened in every community I've lived in, where
[1:16:42]
a building maybe that was 50 or 100 years old was built prior to permitting and is built
[1:16:48]
in a position that encroached slightly on the right way. And it's certainly not in the
[1:16:53]
street, it's just in that portion behind the back of the curb. And where it's been determined
[1:17:00]
that it's inconsequential, all have been granted in terms of some sort of conveyance. And
[1:17:07]
And I think if Council was considering a motion in the affirmative, there are two ways to
[1:17:15]
describe it, but I think either way I would also include or as otherwise described by
[1:17:20]
the city attorney.
[1:17:21]
But a motion to convey the e6 feet of ex-all street adjacent to the south 32 feet of the
[1:17:27]
west line of the simple dwelling one LLC, part of lot 24, comma 26-02-489, or as otherwise
[1:17:36]
described by the city attorney or you could use the description in the lower right-hand corner
[1:17:43]
of the survey but I think in either case if you were to consider a motion to the affirmative
[1:17:48]
you might include or as otherwise described by the city attorney. Can I make the motion in
[1:17:52]
what he said or as otherwise described by the city attorney? Yes. Awesome. I have a motion in
[1:18:00]
in the second. Any further discussion?
[1:18:03]
Okay, all in favor?
[1:18:04]
Aye. Any opposed?
[1:18:06]
Okay, motion carries. All right, number eight.
[1:18:11]
Discussion and possible action approving the Chamber of Commerce recommended visitor center budget for the 2627 fiscal year.
[1:18:18]
You have two papers on the DIES.
[1:18:22]
One is the current treasurer or actually she's the chairman.
[1:18:25]
And that's the budget comparisons from previous years.
[1:18:31]
But then the second one is, there's always a question
[1:18:33]
about advertising.
[1:18:35]
So Tony Scott advertising.
[1:18:37]
Right, so last year Council said that our budget was free.
[1:18:42]
But that didn't bring out enough information.
[1:18:45]
So that's what I wanted to do with the budget line items.
[1:18:47]
And then a question that you might have already got.
[1:18:49]
I don't want to make a note that all proposals
[1:18:56]
So you don't just put everything on Facebook. You have to spend money.
[1:19:02]
Okay. Yeah.
[1:19:04]
Yeah. All right.
[1:19:08]
When you're ready, I'll take a motion.
[1:19:15]
I'm going to approve the Land of Visitor Center budget as proposed.
[1:19:19]
Okay. I need a second.
[1:19:21]
Second. Okay. I have a motion in a second. Any further discussion?
[1:19:25]
I do. On the increase in salaries can you explain that? Is that for one or two or how
[1:19:33]
sets foot out or? Sure. Just
[1:19:45]
to make it clear I'm asking about the $4352 increase
[1:19:52]
on salaries.
[1:19:57]
So I was looking at the budget from the previous year and I noticed that salaries
[1:20:03]
was approximately a third of the budget.
[1:20:06]
So I took a calculation of a third of the hotel
[1:20:12]
motel tax and added that for salaries,
[1:20:15]
but there was never an increase
[1:20:18]
or anything additional intended for anyone.
[1:20:24]
It was merely a calculation.
[1:20:29]
Okay, when's the last time a salary increase
[1:20:31]
has been implemented?
[1:20:32]
That was last, was that two years ago, they received the rates, and Kim is at, she's been
[1:20:41]
there for, I think about 15 years, 16 years, she's at $18 an hour and Rebecca is at $15
[1:20:47]
an hour.
[1:20:48]
They're both part-time.
[1:20:51]
Did they receive any type of insurance or health or dental or any other?
[1:20:55]
No, they don't.
[1:20:57]
We had spoken at one time about, on the chamber side, talking about whether or not they
[1:21:05]
might want something like that and go through Dr. Franklin to pay that.
[1:21:09]
The monthly.
[1:21:12]
But Rebecca went ahead and did that on her own and Kim has insurance through her hospital.
[1:21:17]
At this point, that's not necessary.
[1:21:19]
So your budget raises from $25, $26, $26, $27 as far as building repair and maintenance
[1:21:32]
from $600 to $2500.
[1:21:35]
Is there something that's going on or that y'all are going to do or need to do, I would
[1:21:40]
say?
[1:21:40]
No matter, there's just been times where we have a tall issue or we have a sink issue that
[1:21:48]
building is getting a little older. I think we'll have to replace a water heater here
[1:21:53]
pretty soon. There's just a lot of those different things. And then there's everything from
[1:21:56]
lighting, which we did have the money in the budget for the depot here recently. If you
[1:22:00]
walk into the visitor's center again, then there are a while. You'll notice it's quite lit
[1:22:05]
just something we were able to do. Thank you very much Council for that. But it was very dark
[1:22:10]
and there especially on gloomy day, but it looks great. Absolutely. But that's the only
[1:22:17]
increase. Sometimes we have trouble with the toilet or with the valves and and we also have
[1:22:24]
a backflow. Do we have to pay for now and it's kind of something new. So we're just making sure
[1:22:29]
we have funds to be able to do. Okay, thank you. Okay, back to salary. I'm sorry, I didn't really get a
[1:22:36]
clear answer. Is this going to be spread between the two or is it going to be one gets more, one gets
[1:22:43]
It's less, I mean, how is that?
[1:22:45]
No, so I think the way that our accountant presented
[1:22:49]
to this was in case there was an increase in anything
[1:22:52]
like social security, or are those different?
[1:22:56]
It was an email.
[1:22:59]
I don't think there's any intention for anyone
[1:23:01]
to be getting an increase.
[1:23:03]
I think they'll stay at the same rates.
[1:23:06]
And I think even last year, we discussed doing
[1:23:09]
like a little Christmas bonus for them.
[1:23:11]
and even at that, it was $100.
[1:23:14]
It wasn't a major, major bonus.
[1:23:17]
It was a very small amount.
[1:23:19]
But as far as being split between the two,
[1:23:21]
it is split, meaning we're paying two employees,
[1:23:25]
one makes 18, one makes 15, but other than that, no.
[1:23:29]
So it was mostly for FUTA, SUTA, MC, and Social Security
[1:23:35]
is where that money would be.
[1:23:38]
Where would you be able to meet it?
[1:23:40]
What that equals out to be is about $181 a month per individual.
[1:23:48]
So I don't know that-
[1:23:54]
That's the difference between the last year and the-
[1:23:56]
That's the difference you're asking.
[1:24:00]
My calculation, unless you can prove me wrong.
[1:24:03]
I mean, again, this is me just taking the $4,350 and divided it by two and then divided
[1:24:10]
by 12.
[1:24:12]
I'm going to tell you that it was blown it down, no raises, so we talked about it at one
[1:24:18]
point.
[1:24:19]
It won't be going to that.
[1:24:22]
But this additional is meant to cover those hidden costs to having employees.
[1:24:28]
That's it.
[1:24:29]
Okay?
[1:24:32]
All right.
[1:24:33]
Do you have a motion?
[1:24:34]
Yeah.
[1:24:35]
Oh, I do.
[1:24:36]
I'm sorry. Okay. That was for the discussion. All right. All in favor. All right. Any opposed?
[1:24:44]
Sorry. I mean I. Sorry. Okay. Motion. No. I said I. Okay. It just didn't come out. Okay.
[1:24:54]
Sorry. No. That's why I'm on one. Thank you. All right. Thank you all. Thank you. Okay. Item number nine.
[1:25:02]
Discussion and possible action to approve the purchase of utility polls from Texas Elected Cooperatives to the amount of
[1:25:09]
33,807 dollars and seven cents, but the North Side Theater of Grade Project.
[1:25:14]
Sam, you get to talk to us now.
[1:25:20]
The budget is approved last year for the budget.
[1:25:26]
You have a phrase to do on that in age of year, that's going to be more of a massive next step.
[1:25:31]
I'll make a motion to approve.
[1:25:33]
The motion?
[1:25:34]
Second.
[1:25:35]
And a second.
[1:25:36]
Any further discussion?
[1:25:37]
I'll ask it.
[1:25:38]
I think you're good.
[1:25:40]
Thank you.
[1:25:41]
Oh, okay.
[1:25:42]
You're good.
[1:25:43]
All right.
[1:25:44]
All in favor.
[1:25:45]
Any further discussion?
[1:25:47]
All in favor?
[1:25:48]
All right.
[1:25:48]
Any opposed?
[1:25:50]
No.
[1:25:50]
Okay.
[1:25:51]
Motion carries.
[1:25:52]
Item number 10.
[1:25:53]
Discussion and possible action to approve requests for funds from the Lano County Child's welfare board.
[1:25:59]
So they've asked for five.
[1:26:02]
Right?
[1:26:05]
It's different from what?
[1:26:07]
She's bowler brought to us the other day. This is the county welfare board, right? Yeah, yes, it
[1:26:18]
was all those left, okay?
[1:26:20]
Okay, I have a motion
[1:26:32]
Second already on any further discussion
[1:26:36]
I just have one question you said this is what we did last year, have we done this in
[1:26:39]
the past?
[1:26:40]
No.
[1:26:41]
Okay.
[1:26:41]
I don't know that we talked about it last year.
[1:26:43]
We approved devotion.
[1:26:45]
Okay.
[1:26:46]
I misunderstood you.
[1:26:47]
I thought you did this before and I'm not in think we've ever done this before.
[1:26:51]
Okay.
[1:26:52]
Thank you.
[1:26:53]
Okay.
[1:26:53]
All right.
[1:26:54]
All in favor?
[1:26:55]
All right.
[1:26:56]
Any opposed?
[1:26:58]
Okay.
[1:26:58]
Motion carries.
[1:26:59]
Number nine.
[1:27:00]
Discuss and possible action to prove future plans using hot funds.
[1:27:05]
So, technically, I threw this route there because I just want to make sure we're still on
[1:27:11]
board with doing what we did last year.
[1:27:13]
It's so great, it's not, then we can talk about dispersing them again, but I just wanted
[1:27:19]
you all's input.
[1:27:22]
I'd like to make a motion to keep the money and approve future plans with that said money.
[1:27:30]
I don't know what that's going to be this year, but probably in the vicinity of a place
[1:27:37]
I have a motion to keep going how we're doing with the project focus for our hot
[1:27:45]
funds.
[1:27:46]
Do I have a second?
[1:27:48]
I'll second.
[1:27:50]
Okay.
[1:27:51]
Addie.
[1:27:51]
Any further discussion?
[1:27:54]
All righty.
[1:27:55]
All in favor?
[1:27:55]
All right.
[1:27:56]
Any opposed?
[1:27:58]
Are you serious?
[1:27:59]
All right.
[1:27:59]
Fill in.
[1:28:00]
We have a.
[1:28:02]
Mayor, I'd like to hand off to Chief Bauer.
[1:28:05]
There you go.
[1:28:06]
Come on up.
[1:28:07]
Wow.
[1:28:08]
Yeah.
[1:28:08]
There you go.
[1:28:10]
Tonight here again.
[1:28:11]
Wow.
[1:28:11]
Your moment.
[1:28:13]
Yeah.
[1:28:14]
I'm moving on the spot today.
[1:28:16]
Yeah.
[1:28:19]
Yeah.
[1:28:20]
Thanks for doing this, Emily.
[1:28:21]
I'm glad I did it.
[1:28:23]
Yeah.
[1:28:23]
I'm glad I did it.
[1:28:24]
Yeah.
[1:28:27]
Well, first thing I want to thank you for your service here.
[1:28:30]
I'm going to miss your friendship and our talks and you brought a lot of stability and
[1:28:36]
professionalism and thank you for that so I'll try not to bother you too much with the
[1:28:42]
different time zone and all that so I wish you the best in your new adventure especially
[1:28:47]
with your grandkids and everything so I'm going to go over a little bit so the fire department
[1:28:53]
got our new truck and actually just drove back back because they just had another call so
[1:28:57]
The volunteers have been working on it to make it ready for service.
[1:29:01]
With that being said, they're going to have some type of ceremony eventually.
[1:29:05]
It will be brought out for the National Not Out, which is going to be October 6th, so
[1:29:09]
we will showcase that there, but they're also going to do a private ceremony.
[1:29:14]
Water Department crews have been working to repair the raw water intake valve.
[1:29:18]
This will have all of them up for the first time since 2018, since the flood.
[1:29:22]
So all three will be working, so that's good news.
[1:29:25]
The airport utility crews have been replaced and posed at the airports.
[1:29:31]
During that time, the airport is not going to be able to get out fuel.
[1:29:34]
They did sell about $16,000 worth of fuel to helicopters with the fires.
[1:29:41]
Good for business, but unfortunately, we've had some fires, so they did a lot for that.
[1:29:46]
Hanger 9 was damaged and one of the storms and repairs were finally completed.
[1:29:49]
it.
[1:29:50]
Mar with municipal court has been training working with in code personnel to get version
[1:29:54]
10 of the in code up and running, so municipal court should go live with that in October.
[1:30:00]
Tony always has the biggest part. It's about to be go time. So Tony and staff have met with contractors, subcontractors to collaborate on the timeline of the green room for the land tax. Between now and December, we have 42 events. So if I give you an update on the land tax also, we get it.
[1:30:26]
With those 42 events between now and December here lately, we had ducks and limited. That was just last Thursday. Great turnout.
[1:30:34]
We had the wild game dinner, which was an unbelievable turn out.
[1:30:38]
We had a golf tournament on Saturday, which was sold out.
[1:30:42]
People from all over the region have come to all these events.
[1:30:46]
And I'd like to say this, I was at the Bob Bullock Museum a couple of
[1:30:52]
Fridays ago, and when people asked me where I was from.
[1:30:55]
And I said, Lano, every single person there has said, I wish I can retire there.
[1:31:00]
That is where they love our community and what the city is.
[1:31:04]
And these are people from all over the state with one of them being our Texas Lane Commission.
[1:31:08]
So it's always refreshing to go outside and to hear what people think of our neat little town.
[1:31:14]
This weekend we had the Lanham music fest in golf tournament.
[1:31:18]
September 24th through the 26th, this local historic marker for the first little league field is going to be October 3rd.
[1:31:27]
2026, you heard that time?
[1:31:30]
It's a 10-any
[1:31:38]
-bottom.
[1:31:39]
Yes.
[1:31:39]
The
[1:31:50]
city brown who were honoring,
[1:31:52]
was the superintendent from 1915 to 1937.
[1:31:57]
He's the one who actually brought
[1:31:58]
a little lead to Lano,
[1:32:01]
and it was a Mason,
[1:32:03]
Lano Johnson City,
[1:32:04]
and Santa Sava, Halloween.
[1:32:07]
His daughter was now in her 90s,
[1:32:09]
will be here,
[1:32:10]
along with her granddaughter.
[1:32:12]
We invite you to come to that,
[1:32:14]
and then at one o'clock at the Storke Museum,
[1:32:16]
we'll have a reception.
[1:32:19]
That was easy.
[1:32:19]
That's the busiest park.
[1:32:21]
Yeah.
[1:32:21]
Once again, National Night Out's
[1:32:23]
going to be at the body park on October 6th.
[1:32:25]
From 6 to 8, we encourage everybody to come.
[1:32:28]
We had a fantastic turnout last year.
[1:32:30]
Hopefully, Judge will be there.
[1:32:32]
We'll be in judicial color.
[1:32:33]
Oh, I'll let it slide this time.
[1:32:36]
But we're going to have DPS, we'll have troopers,
[1:32:39]
Gabe Mordins, the Sheriff's Department.
[1:32:42]
Hopefully we'll make it there too.
[1:32:43]
and we'll have the district attorney's office.
[1:32:45]
So last year, we had a really good turnout with it.
[1:32:48]
So please come, we got all kind of events for the kids.
[1:32:51]
We got balloons, face painting, the phone, the exposure.
[1:32:58]
It gets kind of crazy after they've been face painting.
[1:33:00]
Yeah, yeah, so it's a great community event
[1:33:05]
for everybody to get out and meet everybody
[1:33:06]
and please come out and talk to me so there's anything
[1:33:08]
I can do.
[1:33:09]
Electric crew replacing the outlets at Robinson Park,
[1:33:12]
continue to change out service plans on east sandstone and complete the
[1:33:15]
tap upgrade on Ranch Road 152 and I know Sam and Blake have been over at
[1:33:21]
Robinson Park working to get ready for the music festival. So everybody's been
[1:33:27]
pretty busy last week or two. All right. Thank you. Thank you. Okay. Anything else
