[1:50]
Well, I introduced a
[1:52]
a new minister here in town, Brian Kirk.
[1:54]
Will you please come on up and lead us
[1:55]
with the invi- invocation.
[2:00]
» Chance here, too.
[2:03]
» Good evening, y'all. Thanks for the
[2:04]
invitation and opportunity to
[2:06]
to to lead us in prayer.
[2:09]
Well, heavenly Father, we thank you that
[2:11]
uh you love the people of Loganville.
[2:15]
Lord, you love the city and God, you
[2:17]
desire good things for it. Lord, we do
[2:19]
pray your blessing, your anointing, your
[2:21]
wisdom, your counsel um upon each and
[2:24]
every member of the community, but
[2:26]
especially our city council.
[2:28]
God, we ask that you'd lead them and
[2:29]
guide them as far as
[2:31]
uh figuring out the the complexities of
[2:34]
what's best for our city both now as
[2:37]
well as into the future.
[2:39]
And Lord, we do pray that um
[2:41]
uh Loganville would grow more and more
[2:43]
into a city in which is a a city on a
[2:45]
hill that is a light, that is a place
[2:47]
that um Lord, is just a great place to
[2:50]
live.
[2:51]
We do pray that your blessing upon this
[2:52]
meeting
[2:54]
God, it would be fruitful towards those
[2:56]
ends.
[2:57]
And um
[2:59]
Lord, we do ask all of this in the
[3:00]
precious name, Lord and Savior Jesus
[3:02]
Christ. Amen.
[3:05]
>> Thank you so much. Do you mind leading
[3:06]
» Thank you so much. Do you mind leading
[3:06]
us in the pledge of allegiance while
[3:07]
you're there? And then I'll give you a
[3:08]
minute or two to talk about the Holy
[3:10]
Cross Church.
[3:11]
>> Okay, great. Well, now I'm from Texas,
[3:12]
» Okay, great. Well, now I'm from Texas,
[3:12]
so we have a Texas pledge of allegiance.
[3:14]
I'm sure we're not supposed to do that
[3:15]
one though.
[3:15]
>> Probably. Let's look for the Georgia
[3:16]
» Probably. Let's look for the Georgia
[3:16]
one.
[3:17]
>> Just making sure. All right.
[3:19]
» Just making sure. All right.
[3:19]
>> I pledge allegiance to the flag of the
[3:22]
» I pledge allegiance to the flag of the
[3:22]
United States of America and to the
[3:25]
Republic for which it stands, one nation
[3:28]
under God, indivisible, with liberty and
[3:32]
justice for all.
[3:36]
» All right.
[3:37]
>> Yeah, so um well, thank you for the
[3:38]
» Yeah, so um well, thank you for the
[3:38]
opportunity to share a little bit about
[3:40]
Holy Cross. Um
[3:41]
as
[3:42]
uh Mayor Whitfield said, I'm new to the
[3:44]
to the ministry and and new to the town.
[3:46]
My wife and I actually would just We
[3:48]
closed on a house. We're super excited
[3:49]
to actually be living in Loganville.
[3:51]
We're one of those people who believe
[3:51]
that God's called us this community and
[3:53]
so we want to be a part of it in every
[3:55]
way and uh just as a as a church we
[3:58]
really want to do what we can to serve
[3:59]
the people uh to fill in the holes where
[4:02]
maybe other people can't help this uh
[4:04]
the community in ways that it needs help
[4:06]
and uh just to do what we can to just um
[4:10]
show people the love of Christ both in
[4:12]
word and deed and um and hopefully
[4:15]
you know, my opinion is that as as
[4:17]
believers or my belief I should say is
[4:19]
as followers of Jesus we're called to do
[4:21]
good works which means that that we are
[4:23]
aware of the needs of the people around
[4:24]
us and we do what we can to meet those
[4:26]
needs as as God enables us. And so uh
[4:28]
anyway, we just hope to be a
[4:30]
contributing member of the community in
[4:32]
a greater way. We've had uh I know
[4:34]
that's declined in recent years but uh
[4:36]
I've basically have been brought in for
[4:38]
that very purpose of doing what we can
[4:39]
as a church to to bless all of you all
[4:41]
as best we can. So, uh thanks for the
[4:44]
privilege of being a part of the
[4:45]
community.
[4:45]
>> All right, thank you so much.
[4:47]
» All right, thank you so much.
[4:47]
>> Thank you.
[4:48]
» Thank you.
[4:48]
>> I will say he uh reached reached out to
[4:49]
» I will say he uh reached reached out to
[4:49]
me and said, "Where can I help?" And I
[4:51]
go, "We got lots of areas you can come
[4:53]
and help with." Thank you so much for
[4:54]
reaching out and thank you for being
[4:56]
here tonight.
[4:57]
All right, up next we're going to have
[4:59]
the adoption of the agenda.
[5:02]
I need a motion to approve the agenda.
[5:05]
>> So moved.
[5:06]
» So moved.
[5:06]
>> Got a motion. We got a second?
[5:09]
» Got a motion. We got a second?
[5:09]
We have a second. All in favor say I.
[5:11]
>> I.
[5:12]
» I.
[5:12]
>> All right, and then up next it looks
[5:14]
» All right, and then up next it looks
[5:14]
like there's a presentation for the
[5:15]
Mayor's Cup Reading Challenge.
[5:19]
Oh goodness.
[5:23]
» Good evening Mayor, council members.
[5:26]
I'm Shane Short with the Development
[5:27]
Authority Walton County. It's a pleasure
[5:30]
to be with you all this evening.
[5:32]
I'm here on the behalf of Dessa Morris
[5:34]
who works in my office.
[5:36]
She decided that remaining on her
[5:38]
European cruise is more important than
[5:41]
>> [laughter]
[5:41]
» [laughter]
[5:41]
>> coming back early to be with you tonight
[5:43]
» coming back early to be with you tonight
[5:43]
so she asked me to step be
[5:45]
her shoes tonight.
[5:48]
One of the goals of the Walton 250
[5:50]
celebration
[5:51]
as we celebrated our nation's 250th
[5:54]
anniversary or birthday
[5:56]
uh was that the people, organizations,
[5:59]
and communities that make such Walton
[6:01]
County such a great place had different
[6:03]
areas of of celebrations during that
[6:06]
time period.
[6:07]
One of those was a partnership with the
[6:09]
Azalea Regional Library System
[6:13]
who launched the very first mayors
[6:15]
reading cup challenge.
[6:17]
And communities competed by reading
[6:19]
books, writing reviews,
[6:21]
and competing library activities
[6:24]
throughout the entire month of the
[6:25]
celebration in July.
[6:28]
And tonight, I'm excited to recognize
[6:30]
the overall champion.
[6:33]
Congratulations to Mayor Brandon
[6:34]
Whitfield and the entire team in the
[6:36]
O'Kelly Memorial Library for winning
[6:39]
this year's inaugural reading cup.
[6:43]
>> [cheering]
[6:45]
» [cheering]
[6:45]
[applause]
[6:49]
» There were 375
[6:51]
student participants.
[6:53]
105 adult participants.
[6:57]
And 480 total points that were given,
[7:00]
which was more than double the next
[7:02]
closest library in the system.
[7:06]
The highest number of books were logged
[7:08]
and the most book reviews submitted and
[7:10]
the highest overall participation in the
[7:13]
challenge.
[7:15]
So, congratulations to all of you. It
[7:17]
tells a wonderful story in the
[7:18]
commitment of Loganville and its
[7:21]
community.
[7:22]
So, Mayor, I'm going to ask you if you
[7:24]
would please step forward so that I can
[7:26]
present you with the cup and this
[7:29]
special 3D printed
[7:31]
mayors reading challenge. And we
[7:34]
encourage you to wear this every day.
[7:37]
>> [laughter]
[7:37]
» [laughter]
[7:37]
>> If you would please do so.
[7:44]
» Talk about the chain.
[7:53]
All right, here we go.
[8:02]
» [laughter]
[8:03]
>> And mayor, there is also
[8:06]
» And mayor, there is also
[8:06]
a cup but before I give to the mayor
[8:08]
this, I'm going to ask if there's any
[8:10]
library staff here tonight, any
[8:13]
of the board members with the library
[8:15]
system, any of you here tonight. If you
[8:17]
would just please come forward as we
[8:19]
present this trophy.
[8:32]
You all come up here and stand with us.
[8:35]
As we present you all the 2026 Walton
[8:38]
County Mayor's Reading Challenge winner
[8:42]
to the Loganville Library System.
[8:45]
Here we go.
[9:02]
Congratulations to YOU ALL AGAIN.
[9:04]
>> [applause and cheering]
[9:09]
[applause]
[9:14]
[laughter]
[9:22]
» YES, BUT NO.
[9:29]
THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH. IT REALLY does
[9:31]
mean a lot because
[9:33]
here in Loganville, I know libraries can
[9:35]
be a sore subject at times.
[9:38]
And I know we have a community that
[9:41]
really wants to lead and and actually
[9:43]
want to read. And it just shows by
[9:46]
winning this cup all the people that
[9:48]
want to participate and be able to do
[9:50]
stuff like this. And thank you to all
[9:52]
the library staff for doing this. I will
[9:54]
say
[9:55]
it was supposed to be a surprise. It's
[9:57]
still kind of surprising cuz I didn't
[9:58]
know it was actually going to be on the
[9:59]
agenda.
[10:01]
Uh
[10:02]
um
[10:03]
So, I'm a little touched here, but
[10:05]
it's uh
[10:06]
Dust actually let it slip at a meeting a
[10:09]
couple days ago and said
[10:10]
congratulations. I said, "For what?" And
[10:13]
actually John Howard said, "You won the
[10:14]
cup." I go, "What cup?" And then he told
[10:16]
me. I go, "Oh, yeah."
[10:18]
And [laughter]
[10:20]
so, thank [snorts] y'all so much for
[10:21]
everything. I do appreciate it.
[10:23]
So,
[10:24]
I guess the fun stuff is over. Let's uh
[10:26]
let's get down to the consent agenda.
[10:29]
And Pastor, you you don't have to stay
[10:31]
if you don't want to. I understand this.
[10:35]
>> Bye, everybody.
[10:37]
» Bye, everybody.
[10:37]
>> Uh
[10:40]
Mhm. 2A, yes. Okay. So, first up on our
[10:43]
agenda is going to be the mayor and
[10:44]
council items. They're going to be the
[10:46]
proposals for the city manager
[10:48]
recruitment.
[10:49]
All right. I know we had a slight
[10:51]
discussion on it about wanting to wait
[10:53]
to digest this third one that came in
[10:56]
the day of.
[10:57]
And I know we talked about maybe
[10:58]
postponing this until we could get the
[11:01]
people in here to do a presentation.
[11:03]
And maybe do a called meeting if we can
[11:06]
get that lined up. Is that still the
[11:07]
flavor that y'all want to do? Has
[11:10]
anything changed?
[11:13]
All right. Good deal.
[11:15]
So, let's go on down to the consent
[11:16]
agenda. So, the consent agenda for those
[11:19]
who do not know is the agenda items that
[11:21]
we all agreed to on Monday. And on
[11:24]
there, it goes from A through I, which
[11:26]
is everything that we voted on Monday to
[11:28]
make this meeting go a little bit
[11:29]
quicker. And uh
[11:34]
We need clarity.
[11:36]
>> Which firm? All of them? When?
[11:39]
» Which firm? All of them? When?
[11:39]
What time?
[11:41]
Who are you picking?
[11:42]
>> We were going to have them all come in.
[11:44]
» We were going to have them all come in.
[11:44]
Uh we're going to have uh
[11:47]
Well, I guess it's
[11:48]
>> to know a day so we can tell them or so
[11:50]
» to know a day so we can tell them or so
[11:50]
Angela can tell them.
[11:51]
>> Well, I think we're going to have to
[11:53]
» Well, I think we're going to have to
[11:53]
reach out to them and see what dates are
[11:55]
available, see what dates we can do, and
[11:57]
try and get us a date and time
[12:01]
and see
[12:02]
when it's available cuz we don't know
[12:03]
without contacting them yet what days
[12:05]
they might have available.
[12:07]
>> What's best for y'all?
[12:08]
» What's best for y'all?
[12:08]
>> Yes, it's what's best for y'all.
[12:10]
» Yes, it's what's best for y'all.
[12:10]
>> Yeah.
[12:13]
» Yeah.
[12:13]
>> Y'all want to do a week, weekend?
[12:15]
» Y'all want to do a week, weekend?
[12:15]
>> I'd prefer to do a weeknight, but don't
[12:17]
» I'd prefer to do a weeknight, but don't
[12:17]
forget now if it's going to be soon,
[12:19]
next Thursday is our um
[12:21]
we our county municipal dinner, so we
[12:24]
wouldn't want to do it on the 20th, but
[12:26]
I don't have
[12:27]
me personally, I've got the stuff going,
[12:29]
but this is important, so I can work
[12:31]
around it. Um but I think more
[12:34]
importantly, you got to see how you got
[12:35]
three companies.
[12:37]
You know, they might say we can't come
[12:39]
till it might not plan out to
[12:41]
so I think so I
[12:42]
>> Yeah.
[12:42]
» Yeah.
[12:42]
>> think council is
[12:44]
» think council is
[12:44]
we would have to work our schedule
[12:45]
around their schedule. I think their
[12:47]
schedules are much more important than
[12:50]
get them three get those three
[12:51]
>> to go with. We could say a weekday, I
[12:54]
» to go with. We could say a weekday, I
[12:54]
want to say 6:30.
[12:56]
>> Yeah.
[12:56]
» Yeah.
[12:56]
>> I think that'd be good.
[12:57]
» I think that'd be good.
[12:57]
>> Weekday at 6:30 and then you can get
[12:59]
» Weekday at 6:30 and then you can get
[12:59]
back to council about what days they
[13:01]
have available and would y'all want to
[13:04]
at least go ahead and say a date, maybe
[13:06]
a w- Thursday or a Monday? Just to give
[13:10]
them a little bit more guidance. So, we
[13:11]
say Thursday or Monday?
[13:13]
>> I mean, I think if they they all three
[13:14]
» I mean, I think if they they all three
[13:14]
could do a Tuesday. I to me the day,
[13:17]
that's just me, is irrelevant.
[13:19]
A weeknight's a weeknight.
[13:21]
>> So, weeknight 6:30.
[13:24]
» So, weeknight 6:30.
[13:24]
>> That's that's me. I mean, we got six
[13:26]
» That's that's me. I mean, we got six
[13:26]
five other people up here.
[13:27]
>> Yeah, I know. The 24th, or the 25th, or
[13:30]
» Yeah, I know. The 24th, or the 25th, or
[13:30]
the
[13:31]
>> Do what?
[13:32]
» Do what?
[13:32]
>> 24th, the 25th, and the 27th of August.
[13:35]
» 24th, the 25th, and the 27th of August.
[13:35]
>> Yeah, that's what I was looking at. If
[13:36]
» Yeah, that's what I was looking at. If
[13:36]
we could get them in before Labor Day, I
[13:38]
think that'd be good, cuz we're looking
[13:40]
at at least
[13:41]
a 60-90 day process.
[13:43]
>> Right, that's what most of them were
[13:44]
» Right, that's what most of them were
[13:44]
saying, their process is 60-90 days. So,
[13:47]
yeah, I think by the end of the month,
[13:48]
we should try to get them in here.
[13:50]
>> If we could, that'd be great.
[13:51]
» If we could, that'd be great.
[13:51]
>> 27th, 28th?
[13:52]
» 27th, 28th?
[13:53]
>> Danny.
[13:53]
» Danny.
[13:53]
>> 24th?
[13:54]
» 24th?
[13:54]
>> Cannot do the 24th, that's the comp line
[13:56]
» Cannot do the 24th, that's the comp line
[13:56]
meeting.
[13:56]
>> That's what I thought.
[13:57]
» That's what I thought.
[13:58]
>> 24th, 25th, and 26th is a Wednesday.
[14:01]
» 24th, 25th, and 26th is a Wednesday.
[14:01]
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday.
[14:02]
>> said you can't do the 24th.
[14:04]
» said you can't do the 24th.
[14:04]
>> Oh, 25th, 26th, 27th?
[14:06]
» Oh, 25th, 26th, 27th?
[14:06]
>> Yes.
[14:07]
» Yes.
[14:07]
>> the count
[14:08]
» the count
[14:08]
public zone planning zoning.
[14:10]
When is that, Robbie?
[14:11]
>> Yeah, he just shook his head.
[14:13]
» Yeah, he just shook his head.
[14:13]
>> So, the 25th or the 26th?
[14:15]
» So, the 25th or the 26th?
[14:15]
>> Okay.
[14:17]
» Okay.
[14:17]
>> 25th, 26th.
[14:17]
» 25th, 26th.
[14:17]
>> That was fast.
[14:18]
» That was fast.
[14:18]
>> So, we narrowed it down to two days?
[14:22]
» So, we narrowed it down to two days?
[14:22]
All right. Anything else on that? We
[14:23]
good with that, Danny? I gave y'all
[14:25]
enough to go with.
[14:26]
>> 6:30 p.m.
[14:26]
» 6:30 p.m.
[14:26]
>> 6:30, correct.
[14:29]
» 6:30, correct.
[14:29]
>> [clears throat]
[14:30]
» [clears throat]
[14:30]
>> Called meeting.
[14:32]
» Called meeting.
[14:32]
And stay tuned to our city Facebook page
[14:35]
and all the stuff to know what date and
[14:37]
stuff that that actually lands on.
[14:40]
So, up next is now the consent agenda,
[14:43]
and I already explained it, but can I
[14:45]
get a motion to accept the consent
[14:47]
agenda?
[14:48]
>> So moved.
[14:49]
» So moved.
[14:49]
>> We got a motion. We got a second?
[14:51]
» We got a motion. We got a second?
[14:51]
>> Second.
[14:52]
» Second.
[14:52]
>> We have a second. All in favor, say I.
[14:54]
» We have a second. All in favor, say I.
[14:54]
>> I.
[14:54]
» I.
[14:54]
>> Any opposed?
[14:56]
» Any opposed?
[14:56]
All right. Now, moving on down to
[14:58]
planning and development committee
[14:59]
report. Councilwoman Lisa Newberry.
[15:02]
>> Thank you, Mayor. So, we are working on
[15:04]
» Thank you, Mayor. So, we are working on
[15:04]
the what's known as the Sprouts project,
[15:06]
and the city's had held two
[15:09]
prior public hearings, and we got word
[15:12]
last night from Sprouts asking to
[15:15]
consider the table. And so, a couple of
[15:17]
the council members wanted to learn more
[15:19]
about that, your reasons why you wanted
[15:21]
to table. So, I'd like to invite you up
[15:22]
to the podium and and tell us about why
[15:24]
you want a table.
[15:25]
>> Thank you. Thank you very much. Uh my
[15:27]
» Thank you. Thank you very much. Uh my

[15:32]
Uh we heard you on Tuesday night and the
[15:34]
some of the concerns and comments you
[15:35]
expressed therein, and wanted to take
[15:37]
the opportunity to try to see if we can
[15:39]
talk to the end user, talk to our seller
[15:42]
to come up with a plan that that works
[15:44]
better. Um
[15:45]
in other words, we won't be coming back
[15:47]
before you in 30 days or how many days
[15:49]
it is with the same exact plan. We want
[15:51]
to actually go and put in some work
[15:52]
based on what you all have said so far
[15:54]
and what we've heard from you all to try
[15:55]
to make it a plan that works for
[15:57]
everybody. That's the that's the primary
[15:59]
reason for the for the deferral.
[16:04]
» Questions?
[16:05]
>> I don't have a question. I'm going to

[18:15]
>> Do. Next up is
[18:17]
» Do. Next up is
[18:17]
um
[18:18]
item number 4F on the agenda. It's the
[18:20]
Rock It's known as the Rocky Creek final
[18:22]
plat. And just for the backstory, the
[18:24]
council voted to approve an an
[18:27]
annexation and um
[18:29]
rezone um back in 2018.
[18:32]
Um so we're not voting tonight for the
[18:34]
the uh subdivision. We're only voting
[18:35]
for phase to approve the phase two final
[18:38]
plat of the subdivision.
[18:41]
So, Mr. Mayor, for agenda item number
[18:43]
4E,
[18:46]
I'm sorry.
[18:47]
Uh for agenda item number 4F, known as
[18:50]
the Rocky Creek plat phase two, I make a
[18:53]
motion to approve the final subdivision
[18:56]
plat for Rocky Creek phase two located
[18:59]
within the city limits of Loganville
[19:01]
with conditions requiring a pool, a
[19:03]
clubhouse, and a wooden fence as as

meeting minutes.
[19:11]
>> All right. We have a motion. Do we have

» I.
[19:17]
>> I.
[19:18]
» I.
[19:18]
>> Any opposed?
[19:20]
» Any opposed?
[19:20]
All right.
[19:21]
>> Okay, and that is all we have for
[19:23]
» Okay, and that is all we have for
[19:23]
planning and development.
[19:24]
>> Good deal. Thank you so much, Lisa.
[19:27]
» Good deal. Thank you so much, Lisa.
[19:27]
All right, up next we have the finance
[19:29]
committee report. You got anything new
[19:31]
for us, Keith?
[19:32]
>> No, Mayor. Everything was covered under
[19:33]
» No, Mayor. Everything was covered under
[19:33]
consent. Thank you.
[19:34]
>> Awesome, good deal. Now we have public
[19:38]
» Awesome, good deal. Now we have public
[19:38]
safety committee. Councilwoman Lowe?
[19:40]
>> Um I have nothing. We covered mine under
[19:43]
» Um I have nothing. We covered mine under
[19:43]
uh the work session on Monday. They were
[19:44]
on consent.
[19:46]
>> Awesome, good deal.
[19:47]
» Awesome, good deal.
[19:47]
Up next we have the public utilities
[19:49]
committee report. Danny, do you have
[19:50]
anything from Bill?
[19:53]
No? Okay. Now we have facilities
[19:56]
committee report. We had a lot of
[19:58]
awesome news from facilities last uh
[20:01]
last Monday. We got any any other good
[20:03]
news or anything there, Wes?
[20:04]
>> No, we're good. We covered everything on
[20:06]
» No, we're good. We covered everything on
[20:06]
Monday. Thank you.
[20:07]
>> Awesome. I do bear maybe some of that
[20:09]
» Awesome. I do bear maybe some of that
[20:09]
might need repeating cuz this very
[20:11]
exciting stuff.
[20:12]
>> Oh, as far as uh
[20:14]
» Oh, as far as uh
[20:14]
>> [clears throat]
[20:14]
» [clears throat]
[20:14]
>> the library, uh we're going to be doing
[20:16]
» the library, uh we're going to be doing
[20:16]
an open house. I think it was the 19th.
[20:18]
>> Yeah, the grand opening. We're doing
[20:19]
» Yeah, the grand opening. We're doing
[20:19]
>> was started at 10:00 to
[20:22]
» was started at 10:00 to
[20:22]
11:30, and then we're doing a magic show
[20:25]
at 12:00 noon. So, uh
[20:28]
please attend if you can. So,
[20:30]
we've got that done, and also Toler
[20:32]
Park, we're working on it. We should
[20:34]
have it open hopefully
[20:36]
within 2 months, maybe a month. We're
[20:39]
not for sure yet. So, we do have things
[20:41]
in progress of getting that done.
[20:43]
>> And if you want to drive by and look at
[20:44]
» And if you want to drive by and look at
[20:44]
that park, every time that we drive by,
[20:46]
my kids are already getting excited.
[20:48]
>> Yeah. And we also uh
[20:51]
» Yeah. And we also uh
[20:51]
got Station 16 for the fire department.
[20:55]
It's been remodeled.
[20:56]
It's uh open. They're back at their
[20:58]
station now.
[21:00]
And also EMS is back there, which is one
[21:03]
of our med units that covers our city.
[21:05]
Uh Uh, they're back in the house, and we
[21:07]
will be working on the police department
[21:09]
coming up shortly. We'll keep you
[21:11]
informed about that.
[21:13]
>> All good stuff. Thank you so much, wise.
[21:15]
» All good stuff. Thank you so much, wise.
[21:15]
>> Thank you, sir.
[21:15]
» Thank you, sir.
[21:15]
>> Appreciate you.
[21:17]
» Appreciate you.
[21:17]
All right. Next up, we have the Oh, I
[21:20]
got it off of my place. Here, a
[21:21]
transportation committee report. Will
[21:23]
have anything else to
[21:26]
>> So, they're going to be beginning paving
[21:27]
» So, they're going to be beginning paving
[21:27]
for Elmig Monday.
[21:29]
>> Monday.
[21:30]
» Monday.
[21:30]
>> Monday. Um, I believe that's going to be
[21:32]
» Monday. Um, I believe that's going to be
[21:32]
on 81 side and then they'll move over to
[21:34]
the
[21:35]
North Sam Church area to pave. So,
[21:37]
that'll start Monday. Don't really have
[21:39]
a time frame. It'll be probably about a
[21:40]
week, but of course, depends on weather.
[21:43]
>> Okay. Good deal. We always like to see
[21:45]
» Okay. Good deal. We always like to see
[21:45]
more paving.
[21:47]
All right. And now with that done, we
[21:49]
got the city manager's report.
[21:51]
>> Uh, before we do 10A, I'll let Jeff
[21:53]
» Uh, before we do 10A, I'll let Jeff
[21:53]
handle that, but just remind y'all that,
[21:55]
um,
[21:56]
Tyler Park, you know, we've seen some
[21:58]
posts on there about the gravel. The
[22:00]
gravel's not the finished product.
[22:03]
That's just the base. So, there'll be a
[22:04]
rubber mat
[22:05]
on on top. And then also, just be
[22:08]
thinking, um,
[22:10]
council,
[22:11]
we talked about
[22:13]
dedicating a piece of equipment to to
[22:14]
honor Janice and Harold Tribble. Um, so,
[22:17]
we got to kind of start making that I'm
[22:19]
thinking thinking of a concrete
[22:21]
some type of concrete monument to match
[22:23]
the other concrete monument we have for
[22:25]
the young lady that passed away that she
[22:27]
has that one
[22:28]
>> Mhm.
[22:28]
» Mhm.
[22:28]
>> uh, shade structure that's kind of her
[22:30]
» uh, shade structure that's kind of her
[22:30]
area. That was known as her area. That's
[22:31]
something that former
[22:33]
uh, Mayor Martinez did. So, y'all kind
[22:35]
of be thinking, um,
[22:37]
what you'd like to see. You know, I
[22:39]
think we should do an honor. It was
[22:40]
going to be Janice, but now that
[22:41]
Harold's passed, we should probably do
[22:43]
Harold and Janice. I think we have that
[22:45]
support from y'all.
[22:46]
Uh, it'll be after the project's
[22:47]
complete. Um,
[22:49]
and then we'll
[22:50]
have a some type of a
[22:53]
placement of it.
[22:54]
All right. So, y'all be thinking about
[22:55]
what you'd like to say. If you got any
[22:56]
suggestions, please send them to Jeff or
[22:58]
myself.
[22:59]
>> And are we planning to have like a
[23:01]
» And are we planning to have like a
[23:01]
ribbon cutting ceremony with the chamber
[23:03]
or something and then be able to do a
[23:04]
dedication.
[23:05]
>> Yeah, we can. We can do a you know,
[23:07]
» Yeah, we can. We can do a you know,
[23:07]
whatever the council wishes.
[23:09]
>> I think that'd be good have a ceremonial
[23:12]
» I think that'd be good have a ceremonial
[23:12]
opening and be able to honor.
[23:14]
>> Yeah, y'all just kind of think where
[23:15]
» Yeah, y'all just kind of think where
[23:15]
what piece of equipment you'd like to
[23:18]
name in her honor. I think the swings
[23:19]
probably in my opinion is the most used,
[23:22]
but you know, we got a lot of new
[23:23]
equipment so we might be something new
[23:24]
out there, but we'll let it open and
[23:26]
we'll let it see and then y'all think
[23:28]
about it.
[23:29]
>> That's awesome.
[23:30]
» That's awesome.
[23:30]
>> And then I'll let Jeff discuss the since
[23:32]
» And then I'll let Jeff discuss the since
[23:32]
he's kind of the one took lead on the
[23:34]
RFP.
[23:38]
» Mayor and council, before you tonight is
[23:40]
a
[23:41]
proposed
[23:42]
request for proposals for professional
[23:44]
legal services for your city attorney.
[23:47]
>> [snorts]
[23:48]
» [snorts]
[23:48]
>> This was sent out to council. It's in
[23:50]
» This was sent out to council. It's in
[23:50]
the packet.
[23:53]
And it's ready for your approval.
[24:00]
» All right, short and sweet. Uh real
[24:03]
quickly last this was discussed at prior
[24:05]
meetings and we had a few emails going
[24:07]
back and forth about it. Um I think
[24:11]
Patty took a lot of the lead on this and
[24:13]
so thank you for doing a lot of that.
[24:15]
But also uh
[24:18]
I was trying to think is there anything
[24:19]
else you think we need to say or do on
[24:21]
this before we take a vote?
[24:23]
>> I just want to thank thank Jeff did a
[24:26]
» I just want to thank thank Jeff did a
[24:26]
fantastic job adhering to some of our
[24:30]
changes that we wanted and all of that
[24:32]
stuff and he went in and added some more
[24:34]
things that we didn't even think about
[24:36]
so that's fantastic. Thank you, Jeff.
[24:39]
Appreciate it.
[24:41]
>> All right.
[24:42]
» All right.
[24:42]
Y'all ready to vote? I'll take a motion.
[24:47]
» You want to make a motion to
[24:48]
>> I move we approve
[24:51]
» I move we approve
[24:51]
this and get it in the mail. We get it
[24:53]
posted or whatever Danny's he's to do.
[24:56]
>> So we have a motion from Councilwoman
[24:58]
» So we have a motion from Councilwoman
[24:58]
Wolfe to approve the request for
[24:59]
proposal for professional legal services
[25:02]
for the city attorney.
[25:04]
Is that how I read that?
[25:05]
Got you.
[25:07]
All right.
[25:08]
Uh do we have a second?
[25:11]
>> Second.
[25:11]
» Second.
[25:11]
>> We have a second. All in favor say aye.
[25:14]
» We have a second. All in favor say aye.
[25:14]
>> Aye.
[25:15]
» Aye.
[25:15]
>> Any opposed?
[25:16]
» Any opposed?
[25:16]
>> Aye.
[25:17]
» Aye.
[25:17]
>> All right. So, we have one
[25:20]
» All right. So, we have one
[25:20]
against with Keith Colquitt, councilman.
[25:24]
All right. Anything else, Danny?
[25:27]
>> Uh just as a follow-up, Mr. Mayor, the
[25:30]
» Uh just as a follow-up, Mr. Mayor, the
[25:30]
the plan, as you see on the RFP, the
[25:33]
due date is September 25th.
[25:36]
The plan is to publish this,
[25:38]
um
[25:38]
in several locations.
[25:40]
We need guidance from the council as to
[25:43]
when you wish to open you
[25:46]
these sealed proposals. If you want to
[25:49]
do it at the October work session, if
[25:50]
you want to have a called communication
[25:52]
called meeting,
[25:53]
uh
[25:54]
what's the council's pleasure?
[25:57]
>> So, what's the council's pleasure on
[25:58]
» So, what's the council's pleasure on
[25:58]
that? How do y'all want to
[26:00]
open these?
[26:02]
>> They're They're due September 25th.
[26:06]
» They're They're due September 25th.
[26:06]
>> Yes, ma'am.
[26:06]
» Yes, ma'am.
[26:06]
>> Uh when is the October meeting? Do you
[26:09]
» Uh when is the October meeting? Do you
[26:09]
know?
[26:10]
Is it the 10th?
[26:11]
>> 7th and 8th.
[26:13]
» 7th and 8th.
[26:13]
>> I think
[26:14]
» I think
[26:14]
we can do it at the meeting.
[26:16]
>> 5th and 8th.
[26:18]
» 5th and 8th.
[26:18]
>> As opposed to a called meeting.
[26:20]
» As opposed to a called meeting.
[26:20]
Well, let me ask you what we're just
[26:22]
going to open them and then we're going
[26:24]
to just read through them, we're going
[26:25]
to take them home and digest them. We're
[26:26]
not doing anything other than opening
[26:28]
them. I don't
[26:29]
>> understanding.
[26:29]
» understanding.
[26:29]
>> Then I don't have a problem doing that
[26:31]
» Then I don't have a problem doing that
[26:31]
at a meeting.
[26:33]
But if we start trying to read them and
[26:35]
>> Yeah, we're just going to open them for
[26:37]
» Yeah, we're just going to open them for
[26:37]
transparency reasons, so y'all can see
[26:40]
us opening them for the very first time.
[26:43]
So, you know that it's all
[26:45]
being done
[26:47]
in your purview.
[26:48]
>> That would be October 5th, our next
[26:51]
» That would be October 5th, our next
[26:51]
meeting.
[26:52]
>> That'd be October 5th. Yeah, that's fine
[26:54]
» That'd be October 5th. Yeah, that's fine
[26:54]
with me.
[26:54]
>> with you?
[26:55]
» with you?
[26:55]
>> Mhm.
[26:55]
» Mhm.

>> Okay.
[26:57]
» Okay.
[26:57]
>> We'll we'll add that as an agenda item

[26:59]
for the October work session.
[27:04]
» Do y'all want to go ahead and talk about
[27:06]
what we're going to do after we open
[27:07]
them, or go ahead and try and set a
[27:09]
meeting date so we can go ahead and get
[27:11]
it on the schedules, or do y'all want to
[27:13]
wait until after we open to see
[27:15]
>> some point we're going to interview,
[27:16]
» some point we're going to interview,
[27:16]
right?
[27:17]
>> Yeah, that's what I was going to
[27:18]
» Yeah, that's what I was going to
[27:18]
>> And I think it was Paul that suggested
[27:21]
» And I think it was Paul that suggested
[27:21]
we do it in executive session. Wasn't it
[27:24]
you, Paul, that suggested that?
[27:25]
>> No, that is not correct.
[27:28]
» No, that is not correct.
[27:28]
You need to go back and review my email
[27:30]
that provided sort of that guidance to
[27:32]
you on that on that issue.
[27:34]
>> So we can do it in open forum. Be fine.
[27:37]
» So we can do it in open forum. Be fine.
[27:37]
>> Absolutely.
[27:38]
» Absolutely.
[27:38]
>> Okay.
[27:39]
» Okay.
[27:39]
Um
[27:45]
We we need How much time do y'all need
[27:47]
to review? We don't know how many are
[27:49]
coming in.
[27:49]
We don't know I don't know that we we
[27:51]
got to see how many we got, and can we
[27:53]
weed some of them out right off the bat,
[27:55]
and
[27:56]
I mean, we're not going to If we get
[27:57]
five or 50,
[27:59]
we're not going to interview 50 people,
[28:01]
you know? So
[28:02]
>> get them opened.
[28:02]
» get them opened.
[28:02]
>> Let's just get them opened is what I'm
[28:04]
» Let's just get them opened is what I'm
[28:04]
thinking, and go from there.
[28:05]
>> And then we'll decide. Okay.
[28:07]
» And then we'll decide. Okay.
[28:07]
>> All right, thank y'all for the clarity.

[28:45]
» It was It was going to be Christie.
[28:45]
It was going to be Christie. It was

>> Yeah, that won't be quick.
[29:03]
» Yeah, that won't be quick.
[29:03]
>> Natalie Robbie

[29:17]
try and catch up.
[29:18]
>> Yeah.
[29:19]
» Yeah.
[29:19]
>> That'll go with council.
[29:20]
» That'll go with council.
[29:20]
Yeah, sorry about that. Uh
[29:23]
I didn't know Christy's being out until
[29:24]
Monday.
[29:25]
>> Uh
[29:25]
» Uh
[29:25]
>> Mayor, we do have the uh parade that uh
[29:28]
» Mayor, we do have the uh parade that uh
[29:28]

[29:34]
>> It's It's on consent.
[29:35]
» It's It's on consent.
[29:35]
>> Yeah.
[29:36]

[29:41]
and it's
[29:42]
>> Yeah, so
[29:42]
» Yeah, so
[29:42]
>> It is in the works.

» It is in the works.
[29:43]
>> received word today that the uh approved

[29:45]
the road closure, so we will have a
[29:47]
parade. Uh Christy's kind of taking that
[29:49]
under her wing now. That's an event, so
[29:52]
she'll be planning that. She'll work for
[29:53]
the school, but yes, the parade will
[29:55]
commence.
[29:57]
And then we'll have more information.
[29:58]

here, the city uh the city where the
[30:09]
city The uh Loganville High School
[30:11]
wanted to do a spirit parade down Main
[30:14]
Street and have a lot of their clubs and
[30:17]
their sports teams be in the parade. And
[30:20]
it'll be for their homecoming parade, I
[30:22]
believe. And uh Mr. Dennis Edwards
[30:25]
reached out to me. He's done this at his
[30:27]
[snorts] other school before he came to
[30:28]
Loganville just to show and both bolster
[30:31]
community pride.
[30:33]
And it was all it was put on consent
[30:34]
very quickly by the council once we
[30:36]
learned about it. And so, we're going to
[30:38]
have a new event this year
[30:40]
uh with the Loganville High School and
[30:41]
it's actually going to be for the whole
[30:42]
Loganville cluster. So, So, it's all the
[30:45]
schools going to be a part of the
[30:47]
parade. So, it should be a lot of fun.
[30:50]
Uh so, we'll see y'all there.
[30:51]
>> And Mr. Mayor, if I could, I'd like to
