[0:57] team
[1:04] first football
[1:57] no we took a break yeah but I everybody's here you this it's on
[2:04] we're ready let's roll uh it's 5 5:30 our call
[2:11] special meeting to order our invocation be with James web
[2:16] and Pledge of Allegiance be bar Watson let's pray most kind and gracious
[2:22] Heavenly Father Lord we just thank you for all the many blessings that you
[2:26] bestowed upon us this community father we just pray that you continue to bless
[2:30] us father we just pray that you would watch over us and protect us and give us
[2:33] wisdom to make decisions and these things we ask in Jesus's name amen
[2:39] amen attention
[2:43] salute flag United States of America the
[2:51] stands indivisible jice for all
[3:02] all we're here to talk about our general man search discussion and U as we uh
[3:08] city of starting off we'll uh I'll start off by
[3:14] saying what I thought about Scott M's uh interview
[3:21] meeting um I personally thought he did a good job on the interview he said some
[3:27] of the right things he talked a little bit about uh
[3:31] having a good team together and that's how he like doing things that's how we
[3:37] were already doing thing uh he talked a little bit about uh
[3:42] some negative points you know that he had throughout his career uh down the
[3:47] line uh he wasn't ashamed to talk about it he didn't go into details but you
[3:52] know he said everything that was good with it so
[3:57] um that's how I feel about well I think first thing we need to do
[4:02] tonight is uh we need to make a decision on whether we want to
[4:07] invite iish to come or not you know he sent Chris a letter or they talked and
[4:13] said he had two weeks in jly and he'd be glad to come over if we wanted him to so
[4:19] I think we need to decide first do we want him to come over and interview or
[4:27] not that's what I think we need to do first and and once we get him either
[4:32] we're going to open it up for him to come in then we're done we'll get Chris
[4:38] invited and then we'll interview him but if not if we don't want him to come
[4:45] then far as I'm concerned we can vote on the other man
[4:50] tonight can I make a comment yeah so I I think that if Mr ivish would if he had
[4:56] true intentions of joining us in L Tennessee
[5:00] over a month span of time I mean he's got had a he's got
[5:05] plenty of opportunity to join us before I mean you'd think he could get to us
[5:10] before July if he had true intentions of want to be
[5:14] here I mean that's my
[5:18] comment well I I want to say first of all that uh with regards to the
[5:23] interview that we conducted last week I feel like all the folks that we've
[5:26] interviewed up this point I thought I thought that Scot missero
[5:30] you was probably the leader of those four now there's two things there's two
[5:34] points I want to make first of all I want to tell you this ever since we've
[5:38] been looking for a manager ever since Ty left I've had a lot of people I've had
[5:43] people of my friends neighbors business people that I've talked to that have
[5:48] made this statement to me and I've still has had somebody talk to me about it
[5:51] last week why do we have to go out to the four ends of the Earth and look for
[5:55] somebody to be the manager and uh I know that all y'all got the same email ID did
[5:59] from the attorney that we've got a local candidate that has uh submitted his uh
[6:05] uh resume I would know the gentleman if he walked in the door right now but
[6:09] whenever I reviewed his resume what I can say is he certainly has a lot of
[6:13] qualifications he's got uh education he's got experience as a leader and I
[6:18] don't understand why we wouldn't take the time to at least interview somebody
[6:22] that's living right here in this community would be no problem to put it
[6:25] together I mean whenever we say you know we have to publicize it in the newspaper
[6:30] and and and set a date I'm sure this gentleman could be here because he lives
[6:34] here locally so that's the first thing the second thing is I was involved in an
[6:39] interview with ivish and U whenever we had the interview on the zoom meeting
[6:44] and there were a lot of things that he said that that interested me and I think
[6:49] that I can understand you know why he wanted to remove his from consideration
[6:54] at the time but now he wants to be considered and I think that we should
[6:59] make whatever allowances we need to make to
[7:01] have him in here and interview him so anyway that's way I feel I threw it out
[7:05] there and you guys can sh I just like for to come on and Jon you know let's
[7:09] get his interview done I mean that's all I'm saying is is you know whenever you
[7:16] know that somebody else you know asking one man to interview you right now and
[7:20] then you saying well I can't show up for a month that you know you'd think he'd
[7:25] come on down here and interview if he wanted to be with us well from what I
[7:29] understand and from what Chris has told us in the past they're basically doing
[7:33] what I refer to as a union shop out there and he's negotiating with every
[7:37] Union you know not just Utility side but like fire and police and the and the and
[7:42] and the city employees are all unionized and he's in the middle of that and also
[7:45] I know this and I think council member Newman can remember this when we
[7:50] interviewed like in January he had like a three-month old baby Y and and I'm
[7:54] certain that you know he would uh you know want to bring
[8:00] his wife and that child here he's never been here before in his life so I'm sure
[8:04] there's a lot of you know things that are moving pieces for him to get him to
[8:07] come here so well we've all got opinions on where we want him to come and you
[8:13] don't the best thing you can do is is Tim can ask for a motion on your off
[8:18] side and see where that goes and I'll do the same on the Utility side and see
[8:23] where that goes and then we'll know where we stand we going to bring it here
[8:27] or we're not going to bring it here so what's the hold up let's move yeah I
[8:32] guess my point would be we didn't see enough from Mr mazaro to go ahead and
[8:37] point for the job let's go ahead and move to the you know next part of the
[8:40] step was bringing Mr iish in for an interview so um that's how I see it
[8:48] anyways so if we didn't see anything make us feel so moved to move to to
[8:53] ask ask Mazar to come in and take the position I think that we should go and
[8:59] go ahead and bring schedule schedule Mr iish to come down for an interview
[9:04] before and before we consider because I think I think we kind of discussed
[9:07] considering internal applic not internal applicants but opening up the
[9:12] application process again I think before we consider um down or gentleman's
[9:17] application to to finish to to close this book or or get you know do I feel
[9:24] like to get to get to the Finish Line on this one does that make sense what I'm
[9:27] trying to say well I understand you're saying I mean I don't agree but I
[9:31] understand what you're saying yeah well I do think you know I don't think we
[9:35] ought to do anything toward Mazar until we know what we're going to do with iish
[9:41] if we're not going to do anything with iish and yeah let's move forward with
[9:44] with Mazar and let's say if we want it or we don't want
[9:48] it we want entertainment I mean that way you got to bring you got two people to
[9:53] compare with but if you want to do it that way you know I'll make a motion
[9:57] that we uh bring 11 for personal
[10:04] interview a
[10:13] second favor this motion say i
[10:20] i n
[10:24] that you all you all are solid okay do we have a motion on Utility side
[10:33] to bring iish in I make motion second have a motion in a
[10:39] second you hear the roll call Force
[10:44] please director farmer I director macine I director Watson I chairman cell uh I'm
[10:54] sorry uh direct no uh director Cardwell uh thank you
[11:00] yeah I skipped you I apologize that's that's uh that's passed unanimously so
[11:06] we'll get turn it over to our attorney I'll coordinate with Chris he's in
[11:12] communication with him and we will work between the parties to schedule a time
[11:17] hopefully in as early in July as we can perfect and then we'll do a joint
[11:22] meeting afterwards and we'll discuss in hopefully find
[11:27] around what was the other guys name that resume I can't about one
[11:39] down I just I feel like we need to close I'm that we we've agreed to go this
[11:46] route right now and I feel like we need to conclude what we're doing right now
[11:50] before we I think if we entertain one additional resume we should entertain
[11:55] all the additional resumes so I don't know if we're prepared to do
[11:58] that don't want to go there concerned there he was yeah you don't want to go
[12:03] there no what that really mean youbody else got
[12:09] anything no we don't you yeah well after you gentlemen are
[12:14] finished I'd like some clarification please yes ma'am no before we close okay
[12:19] let's hear oh yeah okay I I just want to clarify we're uh Chris and Joe's office
[12:25] the attorney's office is going to reach out to aish and plan a date for an
[12:32] in-person interview and I thought I understood
[12:37] that there was a consideration of having a joint meeting that same
[12:42] day I just need to know how to advertise this joint meeting to what day the same
[12:48] day that he comes in for an interview M you just have to find out whenever the
[12:52] day when he's come so we'll go ahead and have uh you want to make a vote that
[12:59] afternoon evening well just interview me and then
[13:04] have the discussion I think we're a little bit blocked because we don't know
[13:08] what day it's going to be right I'm just trying to find out are you doing just
[13:11] the interview that day and then a joint meeting another day or are you wanting
[13:17] to do the interview that day and the joint meeting that same afternoon I
[13:22] think we just need to uh do the interview and then have a joint meeting
[13:27] afterwards I but the same same date same date absolute same date yeah but what
[13:33] what we don't have no times we don't have anything that's correct I'm just
[13:37] trying to find out to do everything that day yeah she's saying for example if
[13:41] they picked July 27th we want to go ahead and have our meeting to discussing
[13:47] the same day that he has the inter so if he interviews at 10:00 a.m. do we want
[13:51] to meet at 5:30 to discuss it that day or we want to wait an extra week I
[13:55] understand that but she needs times right I can worry about that later
[13:59] know if you want it to be the same day everybody want everybody want to do that
[14:05] I don't have a problem
[14:09] with just make it same day nobody else is saying anything so the interview and
[14:15] then a joint meeting on the same day
[14:19] same depends on the day it's all yeah it's all okay yeah so
[14:25] start start communicating with K via email
[14:29] about dates you know you cannot do so we can eliminate even talking to Mr iish
[14:34] about those dates and could have Mr iish give us I think he already has given us
[14:40] a pretty good window and I think we what his window he said uh I could tell I
[14:46] can't remember it was a two we period in there yeah two we window that it was
[14:50] after the second week of July second third second and third week
[14:57] was it yes y second week and then and in toward the end of the
[15:05] month see third week I you can do it the
[15:11] third I'm out on their workshop okay so we we'll get
[15:19] the Joe and Chris and Mr Irish I'm sure they be in contact with
[15:25] us yeah cool
[15:32] everybody good Joe you good good yeah we'll coordinate that
[15:41] okay
[15:47] good have a motion toour
[15:57] pleas for
