[1:22] Madison bowling alley in support of Union Beach so if you can come follow

[1:27] some games the funds will go towards supporting Union Beach they still need a

[1:31] lot of help okay and that's specifically for the

[1:35] campership program uh last year we had a campership program there and

[1:41] when we handed out the equipment to look on those children's faces that they were

[1:45] going away to Camp you you thought they were getting food that they hadn't eaten

[1:49] in months it's a worthwhile call so please try to comments please spread the

[1:56] the mayor for his Library report the library celebrated the start of summer

[2:01] with the summer reading program it kicked off last Saturday so far close to

[2:05] 300 children have joined to participate a teen a teen summer reading program is

[2:12] also underway and that will be followed next week with an adult program

[3:20] drainage work on Academy Road is pretty much complete

[3:26] curbing replacement and trench repairs will likely continue through the end of

[3:30] this week once sidewalks are replaced with the entire development the

[3:34] contractor will schedule milling and Paving rework they also began on Vinton

[3:39] and Walker there's a lot of activity over there and it I was able to walk the

[3:43] dogs it's looking good the Treadwell Pump Station a gas man along Treadwell

[3:48] Ave to the sewer pump station for the Emergency generator is being installed

[3:52] by PSEG and work is nearly complete topsoil and receding work will commence

[3:57] later this week and the HVAC regarding the library the

[4:01] HVAC design is complete and bid specifications will be forwarded to the

[4:05] attorney for review in preparation for a fall bid

[4:08] this work will include a bid alternate for ceiling and lighting repair

[4:12] currently being designed by consultant Els EI Associates

[4:26] polls and anchors at 80 Green Village Road they installed the new anchor on

[4:31] Hoyt Street transferred a new poll on Alexander

[4:40] Station Road and they completed installation of an oil filtration

[4:44] systems for Bank 3 B and 4B at James Park substations and if all goes as

[4:51] planned the units are going to be operational on Tuesday

[4:55] they begin an installation of a breather systems for banks 3A and 4A at James

[5:02] pork substations they wired and energized new Lamppost on Prospect

[5:07] Street they insulated primary voltage cables for Crane operation at keep

[5:12] Street and Prospect that's it thank you thank you Public Safety Miss Bailey yes

[5:20] yes the Madison fire department recently hosted a basic trench rescue course so

[5:25] 10 Madison firefighters along with firefighters from Morristown and Florham

[5:30] Park completed the 16-hour weekend course

[5:34] the Madison Department of Public Works dug an eight foot deep four foot wide

[5:40] and 40 foot long trench so the class could learn proper and safe rescue

[5:45] skills under true working conditions and the fire department also

[5:49] participated in the Madison High School Day of Service 10 high school students

[5:54] spent five hours helping at the firehouse and learning about fire safety

[5:57] thank you mayor thank you acting mayor whatever whatever

[6:02] but whatever finance and Borough clerk to spoke with thank you uh

[6:09] like to start off by telling you that we have been exploring the possibility of

[6:14] an advanced refinancing of a large portion of our outstanding debt maturing

[6:19] in 2028 we've been involved with our bond Council on this at this stage

[6:24] we're not at the point of bringing it to the attention of the council for their

[6:30] opinion because we're not entirely convinced that it'll be financially

[6:34] advantageous but work continues and if indeed we get to that point we should be

[6:39] bringing it to the council during the summer if we do not

[6:42] that means it wasn't worthwhile um second item is I want to remind you

[6:48] again that the filing deadline for the electric rebate program is September 1st

[6:52] what we've discovered in the early days of this program is that uh letters are

[6:58] not necessarily the best way to contact people

[7:01] um getting a more Hands-On approach seems to be the way to go to give you an

[7:06] indication of what I mean by that uh Council and Vitale hosted a group of

[7:12] approximately 50 people who were potentially eligible for this rebate 25

[7:18] of them signed up on the spot with the remainder saying they would like to have

[7:23] further conversation with someone who's expert in this area to help them in

[7:27] filling out an application so if you know of anyone I will emphasize again

[7:32] our summer interns are involved with this project the ones who are in our

[7:38] clerk's office and you should feel free to contact them and have them help you

[7:44] out with these forms

[7:47] um the third item I'd like to just mention in passing is a quick review of

[7:50] the numbers uh actual versus budget it's obviously uh not quite mid-year but at

[7:58] the moment things are looking favorable um rather than read out a whole host of

[8:04] numbers I just leave you with that qualitative opinion we're running by and

[8:09] large where we were last year and it would appear that barring any unforeseen

[8:13] and costly emergency were in excellent shape

[8:17] strategic planning operations committee wants everyone in Madison to help them

[8:22] come up with guidelines and proposals for the Council on how we might modify

[8:29] the way we provide services to our residents to that end they've asked that

[8:34] you fill out a survey the survey is online and it can be

[8:39] it can be found on the home page of rosenet where there'll be a link to the

[8:45] survey itself you can do it online if you prefer hard copy we have hard copy

[8:50] just about everywhere the clerk's office the tax collector's office the

[8:55] Construction office the utility billing office and last but not least right over

[9:00] there so on where it says we need your help so on the way out if you would take

[9:05] one please complete it get it back as soon as possible we look forward to the

[9:10] results of the survey uh and then one final note congratulations uh I'll be it

[9:16] on the sad side to our tax collector friend DeAngelis who's been appointed

[9:20] CFO in Mars Township we're conducting an expedited search to fill her position as

[9:45] by the Chamber of Commerce for their Alleyway signs at the chamber's annual

[9:49] Galley the award acknowledges the new custom signs the DDC made and installed

[9:53] in the alleys leading from the downtown area to various parking areas the DDC is

[9:57] also moving forward with the August 16th Clambake this is a family event designed

[10:02] to commemorate and celebrate the 125th anniversary of Madison's incorporation

[10:05] they hope to make this an annual event it will be held on a Saturday evening in

[10:10] August the time is still to be determined but will most likely be late

[10:13] afternoon and early evening there'll be tables food live music family friendly

[10:17] activities and they'll fill the Train Train Station train station Crescent

[10:25] for the event finally the senior center advisory

[10:29] committee the new volunteer Management Center vmc telephone reassurance

[10:33] coordinator has met with our volunteers who place calls to homebound seniors and

[10:37] updated updated volunteer handbook and County resource guide were distributed

[10:41] at this point Madison is the only site running at full capacity with 11

[10:45] volunteers and 19 clients and finally the 30th annual summer seminar series

[10:50] begins on July 7th the friends groups of the Madison Senior Center and public

[10:54] libraries will be providing funding for the speakers thank you very much thank

[12:36] commission from the state of New Jersey and in each one of their comments after

[12:43] we did receive those grants they said that they would really really like to

[12:47] see the restoration renovation of the Luke Miller Forge so this is really

[12:53] um in keeping with what they wanted and um we have we've been talking to

[12:58] Historical Society Parks committee and Museum of really trades and crafts and

[13:03] we expect a partnership to do programs that kind of thing and so this is the

[13:09] first step and the next step will be doing the interior and we've already

[13:13] moved ahead with a building permit and and some plans for the building so I

[13:19] really appreciate the open space fund for this kind of thing it's a

[13:24] perfect way to to fund some of these things and

[13:28] I really appreciate the foresight of the group of people who

[13:32] developed that in the first place so anybody have any questions
