[8:17] Our SFR update for the month 28 permits through today, 39 for all of August of 2020, 2025.

[8:29] We did have a visit with Juan Ciscomani, he came into town with some of his folks.

[8:35] We met over by Miranda and I-10 to share with him the project that we'll be doing there

[8:41] to improve the interchange and Congressman Ciscomani sits on the Appropriations Committee

[8:49] and he has committed to working to get us $3 million in funding for that project.

[8:54] So that will go a long way toward helping us get that project paid for, about a $9

[9:00] million project in total.

[9:03] Also, I know it's been in the news a little bit out there, the new artwork at Rattlesnake Pass.

[9:15] And we're looking right now for somebody to name it.

[9:25] Parks and Recs department submitted for a grant from the Gila River Indian

[9:31] community and we're awarded $28,000 which is going to pay for free swim lessons

[9:37] for 720 kids. So pretty pretty neat thing that Parks and Recs department was able

[9:44] to get a big thanks to Melissa and the finance department for her work on

[9:48] grants in getting the town that money. And speaking, staying on parks and recs, we do have the

[9:58] master plan update going on. So we are open for public comment. We'll be taking that over the

[10:06] next couple of months so people can go online and provide any input feedback that they'd like to.

[10:13] This is halfway through our 10-year master plans where we're doing an update at the

[10:18] five-year mark. So an opportunity for the public that last opportunity will be at

[10:23] the Fall Festival on October the 17th, October the 17th, and then we'll do

[10:31] some very targeted meetings and interactions with people through the

[10:36] community to get additional feedback. Also Discover Marana was awarded $50,000

[10:43] in cooperative marketing funds. So that's something that's going to help

[10:48] them out greatly with the Safe Travel Guide, the Tucson Visitor Guide, the Arizona Highways,

[10:55] so on and so forth. So a tip of the hat to Stephanie and her crew. And lastly, Discover

[11:01] Marana Team won Best Marketing Campaign for the Southern Region. So a couple meetings in a row,

[11:10] we've been talking about staff in the different departments winning awards. And here again,

[11:14] discover Miranda, the Tourism Marketing Department, one another award. So congratulations to them.

[12:49] mayor to execute the second amendment to Morana Main Street Development Agreement and right

[13:02] of proposed second amendment to the Marana Main Street Development Agreement.

[13:07] I put the map up on the display to talk to display what development we're talking about.

[13:15] The main provision in this agreement that was entered into back in October of 2020 was

[13:21] that the developer would build Main Street through the development and Center Street.

[13:26] And if completed, the original deadline was October 31st, 2020.

[13:33] The town was going to use $300,000 from the Downtown Marana Reinvestment Fund to reimburse the developer.

[13:42] In April of 2021, we did come forward to the council with the First Amendment to the DA to extend the deadline for the completion of the roads to, I believe, in June of 2021.

[13:56] 2021. Yes, June 1st, 2021. Eventually, the roads got completed in July of 2024. It was

[14:04] substantially completed July 12, 2024. The proposed second amendment will not recognize

[14:12] that July 12, 2024 completion date and give an extension from the June 1st, 2021 deadline

[14:26] $300,000 from the downtown Marana Reinvestment Fund. That is the main

[14:33] provision of the agreement. There are a couple of secondary issues. One was that

[14:38] when we did the First Amendment we had agreed to share water bills and some

[14:42] irrigation of costs for landscaping on Marana Main and Center Street and the

[14:50] town never actually paid its share of those costs so what we did was we worked

[14:56] with the developer to go through all the bills and determine what the town's

[15:00] Fair share should be, and that's in the materials, it's $19,265.89 to be precise. So if this agreement

[15:10] is approved tonight, we would add that to the $300,000 to pay what we think is fair for what

[15:18] we've received from the developer in this subdivision. And the final item was this is a development

[15:26] that is part of the downtown Marana overlay zone and the developer opted into that mixed-use zone

[15:33] which some of you might remember we adopted in 2018 with an implementation plan and they

[15:41] have provided us with an updated implementation plan which is basically what I'm showing you

[15:46] here on the screen here. It covers what's left undeveloped in this development south of

[15:55] of Main Street, these areas in color,

[15:58] and then these couple up here that also are in color.
