[3:18] our good intentions for the people of this county and

[5:06] of the evening, I'll take a few moments to present

[5:08] my report to the county board. I'd like to invite

[5:10] you all to attend the upcoming Chicago metropolitan agency for

[5:15] planning event taking place a week from today. Tuesday, September

[5:18] 22nd at Richardson Adventure Farm in Spring Grove. The event

[5:23] common ground balancing growth with land conservation is a discussion

[5:27] about how Northeastern Illinois can preserve natural and agricultural land

[5:32] while supporting economic development. CMAP has graciously offered me the

[5:37] opportunity to say a few words. And I'm honored that

[5:40] McHenry County is hosting this event, seeing as how McHenry

[5:43] County is a leader when it comes to government and

[5:46] business cooperating to preserve open space. And it would be

[5:49] great for as many board members as possible to be

[5:51] part of this conversation. All of you should have received

[5:54] the email invite that includes the registration link. Last week,

[6:00] county administration posted online the video of the property tax

[6:04] workshop that chief assessment officer Alex Benitez, county clerk joke

[6:08] Tyrio and county treasurer, Donna Kurtz, presented at McHenry County

[6:12] College. People who missed the presentation but want to also

[6:15] learn the ABCs of how local property taxes work can

[6:19] watch the video on the county website or the county

[6:22] YouTube page. If you want to see the workshop live

[6:25] and in person, the trio will again be making the

[6:27] presentation from six to 7. 30 p. m. Tuesday, September

[6:31] 29th at Morango Public Library. Once again, our McHenry County

[6:39] Circuit Clerk's office is holding its annual amnesty week during

[6:43] the week of October 5th through October 9th, people with

[6:46] overdue McHenry County Court fines can pay them back without

[6:49] interest and late fees. Since its creation, amnesty week has

[6:53] saved individuals a total of 38, 752 dollars in late

[6:58] fees and interest and 50, 684 dollars in Beckfin's owed

[7:04] to the court has been paid. Information on how people

[7:07] with overdue fees can get a quote and pay off

[7:09] the balance can be found on the county website. And

[7:13] finally, I'll offer one last reminder that will be holding

[7:16] a special county board meeting starting at 8. 30 a.

[7:19] m. on Thursday, September 24th for the budget workshop. Also,

[7:23] if you're interested, the ninth annual McKenry County water forum

[7:27] will take place tomorrow evening from 5. 30 to 8

[7:30] p. m. at McHenry County College. And that concludes my

[7:34] report. Doing a members have comments tonight. Ms. Greeno. Thank

[7:49] farmer. St. John de Crefcour said this fair country alone

[7:53] is settled by freeholders. The possessors of the soil they

[7:56] cultivate. Members of the government they obey, and the framers

[8:01] of their own laws by their, by means of their

[8:04] representatives. That's what we're doing here as this board. Each

[8:08] of us has cultivated our own soil. We have built

[8:10] our businesses. We have built our communities. And now we

[8:13] are participating in the government establishing our own laws. The

[8:18] importance of this budget process and looking at what we're

[8:22] doing as far as our expenses versus our revenues is

[8:26] critically important. We have our reserves, but we also have

[8:31] our ongoing expenses. So for us to take seriously the

[8:35] tasks that we have had hand for the people who

[8:38] elected us and those that we serve. Thank you very

[8:41] much. Seeing no other member comment. We'll proceed to zoning

[12:51] previously was now empty and had no funding. And I

[12:56] just wanted to clarify, cary, the money that we had

[13:00] in that before, we were able to, it was there.

[13:04] We already had it to spend until we were spending

[13:06] down that fund to cover these before. Correct. So, um.

[13:12] A couple of years ago, we. Moved that it was

[13:14] a real volume. Loan fund. Yes. And then the proceeds

[13:17] from that stayed within that fun and moved to support

[13:20] economic development. Okay. So, uh, to be clear, I'm less

[13:25] we're planning on spending down our reserves. We need to

[13:28] find the, we will need when we're in our budget

[13:31] meeting to find the matching cuts to cover this expense.

[13:38] So this is where we have our budget with our

[13:41] expenses and our revenue versus going into our savings account

[13:45] to pay for it. So if anyone else needs any

[13:48] clarification for that, that will be our task at hand.

[13:51] So I think that these are very important items, but

[13:55] we have, we are proving something that is unfunded. Let's

[13:58] not be so much like Springfield and Washington, DC, please.

[15:22] was a presentation that was given at that budget during

[15:25] the budget presentation, we included it on the meeting portal.

[15:27] So you can follow along with our PowerPoint as well.

[15:29] They give you more information. And also please feel free

[15:31] to reach out to Cary, to myself or to the

[15:34] departments for clarification. But it's important to do your homework

[15:37] and come prepare for Thursday. The other item is your

[15:40] strategic plan report card has been updated. So please take

[15:43] some time to review all the great work that's been
