[3:58] Thank you, Keith. Uh, Madina just wrapped up the Madina Ice Festival, the

[4:02] 32nd annual. Special thanks to Alakan Ice and Peggy Costic, who we dealt with

[4:07] on a daily basis here in preparation, and for Main Street Madina for putting

[4:10] this enjoyable event together again this year. I want to thank the service

[4:14] department and all of their employees who worked uh during the night to uh get

[4:19] the snow removed and of all things for an ice festival, but we did have to

[4:23] remove a lot of snow getting prepared for this festival. the parks and recck

[4:27] department for setting it up and then the police and fire departments um

[4:31] especially the fire department who had to make the call on Friday that the fire

[4:34] and ice tower just could not go forward due the high winds and moved it to the

[4:38] next night. But this is all the behindthe-scene works that go into

[4:41] getting this event pulled together and the city staff rallied as always and did

[4:45] just an amazing job of making it look seamless and and enjoyable for the

[4:49] crowds. and I did talk to many of the attendees and many were from out of town

[4:53] visiting and frequenting our restaurants and attending the festival and going to

[4:57] our stores. So, just a great weekend. So, thank you to everybody involved with

[5:00] that. Uh, February is Black History Month. Uh,

[5:04] last Thursday night, February 19th, Fellowship Baptist Church hosted a Black

[5:09] History program focused on African-American inventors,

[5:12] inspirational readings, and some pretty wonderful singing. And I know Reverend

[5:15] Wilson is here and M. Peterson, they were uh part of the whole program. and

[5:20] Reverend Wilson was and they were both part of the singing too. So, but it was

[5:23] a really interesting evening and just a great night and I wanted to invite the

[5:28] public and council and administration again this Thursday, February 26 at

[5:33] Second Baptist Church, 451 Bronson Street. They're having a black history

[5:37] program 7 p.m. featuring the Claget Middle School choir. And there'll be a

[5:41] narration on some local Madina history which is the Porters and the Porter uh

[5:45] family and the shoe store here. And our it will be presented by our own Madina

[5:50] TV's Miles Reed. So again, 7 o'clock 451 Bronson Street this Thursday the 26.

[5:57] I try to always keep you updated on America 250 events. They're really very

[6:00] entertaining and just a a great time. And the the one I want to focus on now

[6:04] is March 3rd. It' be a week from tomorrow night, 7 p.m. Madina Performing

[6:08] Arts Center. 851 Weaimoth Road, Echoes of the American Journey. Madina High

[6:13] School choirs. They've devoted their winter coral concert to music that will

[6:17] span the history of the United States. Pre-sale tickets go on sale online

[6:21] starting tomorrow, but you can also purchase at the door. $7 for adults, $5

[6:26] for students and seniors. Veterans are invited free of charge and will be

[6:30] recognized during a performance of a tribute to the armed services. We were

[6:34] supposed to do uh one more item tonight with the career center, but I think uh

[6:39] they're not going to be able to make it. So, I think I'll hold this until our

[8:38] can't get hot mix at this time of the year. So cold patch really doesn't stay.

[8:41] The long and short of it is the fellas worked and uh made some full depth

[8:45] repairs with uh compacted 304. So we're monitoring it and then uh I already

[8:50] talked to a contractor uh for chip and seal. So, we'll address that in the

[8:54] spring once the um once the asphalt plants open up and see what direction

[10:50] modification uh uh modifying 2% uh income tax from the uh 106 account which

[10:56] is the police fund to the 301 general purpose capital account and the general

[11:01] fund. Uh some of these things looking forward are are things that you know

[11:04] from a capital perspective that we need to do in a city. We need to start saving

[11:08] up. We did deplete the 301 capital account from uh the Khash project. So we

[11:13] need to build a little bit more in there. Uh this would not have a negative

[11:16] impact on the police department as they will still be receiving uh funds that

[11:21] match their uh budget amount uh going forward and they have a lot of carry

[11:25] forward that they can cover if there are any shortfalls and things that come up

[11:28] that were unanticipated. So, this is just kind of an annual thing we look at

[11:31] and next year we'll look at it again to make a determination if we need to make

[11:34] any further modifications one way or the other to see if the allocations in

[11:38] various accounts are appropriate. Mr. Dur, you got anything to add?

[16:07] I just wanted to compliment again uh not all our our city employees, but

[16:14] uh I've I've had a constituent in in Ward 2 on Northeast Street that there

[16:22] there was a couple water main breaks a couple weeks ago that caused some severe

[16:28] flooding to I think three or four different basements.

[16:31] on uh East North Street. The this one individual uh after getting

[16:39] everything repaired and and and spending a lot of time and money uh got a second

[16:46] uh flooding of her basement. She contacted me and contacted uh the

[16:52] Mr. Polei from the service department and the superintendent from the water

[16:56] department, the mayor and and I just got to compliment them.

[17:01] they've they worked together to make everything

[17:07] I shouldn't say easy, but more more uh manageable for this resident. Uh and I I

[17:14] talked to her. She's got small children. She wasn't able to to live at her house

[17:18] for a few days because uh it was fear more of flooding, flushing toilets and

[17:23] running water and so forth. But uh the city went out of their way. I feel the

[17:28] city went out of their way to accommodate this this resident and

[17:32] helping her uh solve this problem. Uh and I talked to her the towards the end

[17:39] of this last week and she was couldn't have been more complimentary. Again,

[17:43] Mayor Shields and Mr. Polei and the water superintendent.

[17:47] Uh it it just again goes to show how the the city and its employees will go out

[17:53] of their way to assist any resident that that that is uh in need. Uh and it just

[18:00] makes me proud to be not only a member of this board but a a resident of the

[18:05] city with that that type of response. Other than that, it was a great ice

[18:10] festival weekend, great last two weeks of watching the Olympics and just

[18:15] remember to be kind to one another. Thank you. Thank you, Miss Hair.

[18:18] » I just want to thank the city departments for doing all the things

[18:21] that they do. Uh, and I've said this before, when the various departments do

[18:27] their job well as they do and the administration, it makes my job as a
