[0:02] So this our final check meeting this year. It is able to second. I know on the last minutes I kind of went by that because I wasn't able to be on that one. And just kind of to go through that the kids heart challenge went well. The spring blood drive we almost made our goal. Special Olympics regardless of the rain and stuff was a huge success. I just kind of wrote all those down because I know that was one of the things that was going on.
[0:27] Now, I did see, you know, Becky's told them was able to come and speak to the elementary
[0:31] students.
[0:32] Yeah, it was good.
[0:33] Regarding nutrition.
[0:34] We loved it.
[0:34] We loved it.
[0:35] We loved it.
[0:36] They were very what?
[0:38] I was only there for like the beginning, some of the younger ones, but they were very
[0:42] into it.
[0:43] That means you said it's first grade, very hard.
[0:45] What?
[0:46] It was like they don't.
[0:47] They were not.
[0:48] We were already getting engaged in the conversation.
[0:50] Okay.
[0:50] She was like, I knew the younger ones I really did and she was like, first grade was hard
[0:54] to be.
[0:55] Not like just getting some kind of stuff in and out and then when I think it's going to over to you
[1:00] So I hadn't heard enough today
[1:02] Then there's so I could hear if y'all thought maybe something to continue next year to continue
[1:09] I mean we've discussed it all year probably so I'm so glad I saw that on the calendar
[1:13] I'm sure y'all got together and get all get all that
[1:17] Okay, well good what I mean what it's they came out with papers to and they have I thought I saw papers
[1:22] What did she do? What did she go over basically? I mean, I just I didn't see a paper and I didn't say to the very end of the
[1:30] I just poked my head in and went into the gym
[1:33] But she had like boxes of cereal and like hands-on stuff to show them and had a couple tables set up and
[1:38] I think she went over like nutrition backs like on the label. I went in with a standard board to watch for and maybe the sugar contents
[1:46] Or something come like that. Oh, well, I really was gonna peep in and then I it was crazy
[1:51] So, okay, okay, I'm so glad that went well.
[1:56] Now we have Filetay's May 14th, and that was when we discussed it before it was that the PTO was still needing volunteers.
[2:03] I don't know if that's still a thing.
[2:05] Do you know anything about that?
[2:07] I mean, yes, I think especially because junior high awards.
[2:13] Is that afternoon?
[2:15] And so I think a bunch of people will be having to go, or maybe that morning?
[2:20] So I had it in the minutes or whatever and so I didn't I didn't know if that was ever discussed or if it was better or
[2:29] Well, I just put that in there just kind of touch based on it
[2:31] But I don't know who cuz they I know they kind of took that over a couple years ago
[2:36] Tiffany still runs it. She's so sure
[2:38] Okay, I get help with the ribbons and stuff at the finish line and they've always kind of stepped in and done that and ordered whatever so I can get with her
[2:48] And she's just really good about sending us Amazon links and then the PTO just usually orders it and
[2:54] Okay, I know she's being crazy busy because she usually does try to get here
[2:58] But she would have been able to we'll just say we're able to get with Tiffany on that
[3:02] So this next one I really thought would be I don't know where I saw it
[3:06] It was on a post somewhere that they're trying to get communities more involved especially communities that don't have access and
[3:13] education on CPR because a lot of people
[3:17] If they don't, if they have a heart attack, a lot of them they don't survive because people in the communities and lay people do not know how to CPR.
[3:25] So there was this program that had mentioned instructor led CPR training that can be done in communities.
[3:31] I don't know. So I'm going to bring that up at Shaq because I think that could be a very good thing.
[3:36] with our rack, they encourage us to do like the hands-on-late CPR out in the
[3:41] public and stuff so we could definitely set something like that. I am not
[3:44] certified to teach CPR to do that, but TJ, which I think is a little station at
[3:50] the health fair. I mean he does that, but if you want it more, we, I mean you do it
[3:57] right with the olders. I mean if you all want it, I think probably younger than
[4:06] the one year that we had it all there was we just did it 7th or 12th and we had to hold
[4:10] you and we can't even help too. But this was I think more polite. I mean I know the
[4:15] health fairs more I mean it is for community too but I don't know how I'm bothered to actually
[4:19] get but you know I'm going to be going tomorrow we got this grant. There haven't mannequins
[4:27] and first aid kits given to us. So I'm going to go to several of the districts that were
[4:32] getting those, I have to go to the ESC, receive them, get a picture, and bring them back
[4:38] to the school.
[4:39] So, I don't know how that works, or if we could end up using, because I haven't seen
[4:43] it, but I think it's just those rooms.
[4:45] But, some way of maybe bringing in the community involved in having something to do with that.
[4:50] I mean, that kind of is a shack thing, it could be, I think, with health and community and
[4:53] bringing the kids in that, anyway.
[4:55] I think several members of TJZMS staff can be instructors.
[4:59] Yes, not just DJ, I think there's a couple others that probably do.
[5:05] Yeah, I really do think that would be a good thing.
[5:09] And of course, one of the key parts classes I went to
[5:12] to get my renewal and stuff.
[5:14] There was a girl there that was, she said,
[5:16] she was in Walmart and this guy was having a car.
[5:18] And people were just saying that nobody knew.
[5:20] Nobody knew where the 80 was.
[5:21] Nobody knew what to do.
[5:23] And she's like, I did not want to have that feeling again.
[5:25] So I wanted to learn CPR.
[5:27] Anyway, I just think it would be some way to maybe bring the community in and kind of, so I wrote that down.
[5:35] I think, I don't know, I think they got given to you, but then maybe kiss her.
[5:40] But you all do have stop the bleak gifts now for everybody.
[5:42] He took them back physically to the best find himself and made sure Lewis was going to be putting those into all the buses.
[5:48] You're a minute here, but I would think so, but every vehicle is supposed to have that stop the bleak gift.
[5:54] And everyone is supposed to be educated to you.
[5:56] And of course, in the beginning of the year, I know this, this year when y'all got busy,
[6:00] we had to separate and we, so we have, the staff has been being trained on softly
[6:05] every year.
[6:06] Um, so I met that initiative, and I was hoping they all had to do to get the free stuff.
[6:13] So, and I know you had said that they've kind of changed it to where the turnipids are
[6:18] not, the primary thing is let's start with pressure, don't put the turnipid on too soon,
[6:22] we're going to try to focus on pressure.
[6:23] So I remember that I'm adding that in the training
[6:26] issue.
[6:28] But yes, I know that kids are coming up
[6:30] because I took on inspiring because I didn't know
[6:32] anyway, they got given to me.
[6:33] And I was like, what happened?
[6:34] I called him and he's like, I will get that done.
[6:37] So, and I still have some stuff that we kids
[6:39] that I have to put out to, you know,
[6:41] trying to get them in every room.
[6:42] But yeah, so I can't think what else does this.
[6:46] And the thing we can put on here is,
[6:48] what is the little automatic choking device
[6:51] been called that you gave us a life back. And I'm getting three more. Well, the
[6:57] Marical man, what is his name? Amanda Marical's husband. He is part of Health
[7:04] Foundation and he came up and visited with me and wanted to know a number if he
[7:10] got enough for every classroom to have one. So apparently he's bringing us like
[7:16] 50 of those. Oh! By next year. So that could be something else that I think would fall on this.
[7:23] I showed him the ones that and he said well we have to provide training and I said well
[7:27] Hillary and her nursing staff came up and played a little video and just kind of demonstrated
[7:32] and answered any questions. I would think that they could just throw that on top of stop the bleed
[7:38] or something. Yeah is that kind of a yearly thing along with I mean not that I don't know the
[7:42] I don't know, my requirement to get one was that one time training, but I don't think it's a bad idea to read.
[7:48] No, it took like 10 minutes.
[7:49] I mean, it would have been.
[7:50] I'm all prepared.
[7:51] You could set up a little stop-to-bleed station with that, where you go there and hit that.
[7:57] Yeah, exactly.
[7:58] Very nice.
[7:59] And I am getting three, and at the airplane, I'm getting them to y'all, but I may look at it sometimes.
[8:03] Whatever, even vehicles or something, I don't know.
[8:06] That would be, we voted yesterday to get 31.
[8:09] Well, that is good.
[8:10] I mean, anything we can do for sure, that's fantastic.
[8:15] Oh, okay, anything, I know y'all, okay, so that, yes, we're good.
[8:20] Any other ideas that you might think of for next year?
[8:22] I know we don't have her much.
[8:24] Are you guys involved in any of this rule, health, Texas,
[8:29] transformation program, grant, type thing
[8:32] from the one big beautiful bill from HHSC?
[8:39] There are some potential, um, some potential programs that we may be able to work together
[8:50] to initiative one is to make Texas healthy whether it's design a workout program and provide
[8:58] the equipment and space and all that. It could be nutritional education. It could be an
[9:06] idea for us is potentially just to expand our kitchen and have one have every day for lunch,
[9:14] have a salad bar where people go get a healthy alternative for food. I don't know if it's going to
[9:19] be funded or not. Just part of the things that we're talking about is a healthy alternative for meal
[9:25] Because you go to meals, you're going to go get fast food, you're going to get fried,
[9:28] you're going to get whatever, and it's going to be real quick.
[9:31] But if we had a salad bar, potentially at least one meal a day, at least that's a healthy alternative.
[9:36] I don't know where it's going to go.
[9:38] What funding we're going to get, just the thought is something that might be coming out
[9:42] and maybe we could work together to get that done and come up with a grant and a cost.
[9:49] Because it's all going to be paid for by grant money if it qualifies.
[9:52] But they really stress like thinking outside the box like very much outside the box and told community involvement and all that
[10:00] So what better community than us in the school? Sure
[10:03] Junior I mean primary secondary
[10:08] Just a thought
[10:10] Yeah, I don't I don't know what the there's a bunch of
[10:19] I mean the state has money but they don't know what they want to do yet that's just one of the ideas.
[10:24] I want to say I don't want the public.
[10:27] Rule of health transformation for rural.
[10:30] It's for rural communities.
[10:32] It's not just limited to hospitals.
[10:35] It's rural communities.
[10:36] It could be the county seat could apply for stuff.
[10:39] Hospital districts can apply.
[10:40] I think there's even a provision for the independent school districts to apply for part of it.
[10:46] I think it could be wrong.
[10:49] But if we it's on the state hsc website called the role health transfer is called role
[10:57] Texas strong as well it is okay maybe some grant funding that we could cloud right on
[11:04] maybe some of the york could go for independently but it's about making Texas healthy which would
[11:08] fit right into this shack program right that would be good and as I find more information
[11:16] I'll be happy to pass it along to you guys as far as what it is.
[11:22] There's also potential for us to start, I hate to use the word term grooming, big grooming
[11:28] students to do medical professions and that get paid for as well as scholarships and those
[11:35] kind of things, but you want to start earlier, identify those students that would be interested
[11:40] and then start molding and grooming, whatever term you want to use to push them in that direction
[11:46] there's an alternative fee to go to school and it could be paid for as long as you do
[11:51] indebted service for X number of years or whatever.
[11:54] I think when you start younger because I know at the CNA class this year, even though
[11:59] they wanted to do it, they volunteered to do it.
[12:01] It says, you know, dual credit, I'd say at least half of them really did not even understand
[12:05] what it would be involved in.
[12:07] You're going to have to do this and you're clinging feet and you're doing hands and you're
[12:10] doing bathroom stuff.
[12:12] And so, and even when I talked with the Howard College person, we, you know, we go in there
[12:18] and you talk about this is what's going to be involved or offer some things, you know,
[12:21] like your combat with the hills or whatever, this is what is small to see in it.
[12:25] If you want to do that BSL bottom, or if you want to try to do this and kind of maybe put
[12:29] those out there, I can say a little bit earlier and give them, because I mean, the motivation
[12:35] would definitely be there more.
[12:36] They knew what they were going to do and it was more, you know, kind of look forward
[12:40] to it as I built up to it and learned as I go, I think that would be great.
[12:45] And this program that I'm talking about is not just for physicians.
[12:48] It could be physicians.
[12:49] It could be nurses.
[12:50] It could be rat tags.
[12:51] It could be live tags.
[12:52] It could be EMTs.
[12:54] All of that is.
[12:56] All of that is, as long as it's medical and there's a need in the community, then that could qualify.
[13:03] But ideally for us, we're looking at providers and nurses.
[13:06] doctors, nurse practitioners, PAs, nurses, maybe some other medical clinical
[13:12] profession. It has to be a clinical side, so it can be business office or
[13:16] administration, it would have to be on the clinical side. But there's going to be
[13:21] funding for that as well, so there might be a collaborative effort there for us
[13:27] Yeah, there's six different initiatives and so that's a possibility as well,
[13:33] and that goes along with health advisory and getting them into the health
[13:38] professions and those kind of things as well. More to come. I just want to bring it up
[13:45] because those things that are coming up on our radar that we're trying to work
[13:49] on but why not make it community-wide. Sure, and of course that we have more
[13:54] people here and get more in community and I just know this shack can be so it
[14:01] It really could be a great forum, a great, like you say, place to do those kinds of things.
[14:07] So in that kind of range that to check next year, I am resigning as the check chairman.
[14:16] I did bring some papers to all the things, but I do have a formal letter that I'm going
[14:21] to be sending from when I looked up, I'm supposed to send it to the board.
[14:25] I don't really know, but I did, I talked to Ms. Castro as a president.
[14:29] But so I don't know. I did mention it to April. She has no interest to take it on because she is the co-chairman, so, um, and of course a lot of the stuff that I found out in this after I kind of, you know, started this like a seven years of doing it.
[14:45] I'm still there's still so much. I don't know about second all the things you can do, but, um, however it works out, whoever I'm taking over, you know, all the reasons you do check what it, you know, all that stuff.
[14:57] of the elections, the voting, the...
[15:00] So it can be help anybody to to go forward with that in the next.
[15:09] Like it makes the most sense for school nurse to do it. So of course, if we have a co chair from somebody, great, but, yeah, and feel like, and
[15:18] the only as it does say in one of the rules or bylaws is in Texas, a chair and or a co chair must be a parent of a student enrolled in the school district.
[15:28] go ahead. So I mean that even the school nurse, hello. Yeah, it has just why at least one of the
[15:36] co-chair or chair it has to be a parent or a community member, but not a district employee.
[15:42] Really the true thing with this and of course a lot of it's got you know you should have more
[15:47] community members than staff, which we hardly ever do.
[15:54] Now it's just the co-chair or the chairman
[15:59] We have to be a parent that is not a district employee, so a community member.
[16:06] But so the chairman or co-chairman, but yes, and then so that's why, you know,
[16:12] it's going to generally is the one that does it, but and of course this also shows, you know,
[16:18] that they, you need to have more community than district staff, which we do usually just have a lot of.
[16:25] but it's easy because we have our principles
[16:27] and we have our, you know, have to your person,
[16:30] the nurse, the things that we have.
[16:34] And so, which usually really we have added
[16:36] a lot of community members, it's just not showing today,
[16:38] but so, I was explaining, I got my resignation in as Chairman,
[16:43] but in April being co-chairman did not want
[16:45] to take that position and so we were just,
[16:48] and I printed out some of the shack rules and bylaws
[16:52] and what Shack is and stuff that I had been using as guidelines.
[16:57] So as a co-chairman or chairman, whatever as long as at least one of them is a parent,
[17:01] it's not a district employee.
[17:04] So we have some really good health ideas for next year's, they're discussing the, the
[17:13] hospital's got several different ideas for grants and stuff that may go back and listen.
[17:17] You'll be the one listening to our recording, but now some really good ideas.
[17:22] It's like CTU type stuff.
[17:23] Yes, it's fun.
[17:24] That we could do try to get encouraged medical stuff
[17:26] at a younger age.
[17:28] Oh, okay.
[17:28] And this grant-specific encourage clinical things,
[17:31] not business stuff, type stuff.
[17:33] Start younger and encourage nurses and doctors
[17:36] and all the medical sides of it.
[17:40] So there's that.
[17:41] And then the Marco family is going to be getting us
[17:43] more of those life facts for the anti-toking that you can put.
[17:48] And we're going to try to have that.
[17:49] You all have any on your campus?
[17:50] this. I don't think that school does. I gave my two to you and I kept one. So that's
[17:55] what I could do. Oh yeah. We're getting three more and I'll get them to you. Okay.
[18:00] I just like, what I did at the beginning of the year, I have to just do like a 10 minute
[18:05] training. The video is like three minutes. Which just kind of goes into this, but an admin
[18:08] meeting on Tuesday, I know some things have presented themselves since then. But we were
[18:13] really hoping those three Fridays in May that we could knock out, I mean, sure we're going
[18:19] to have staff that isn't returning that shocks us after, you know, May, but we were hoping
[18:25] that maybe you could knock out because the day you do CPR and then, like, stop the bleed,
[18:31] I mean, they're full days, you know, and those May days, those May Fridays are going to
[18:35] be pretty flexible. We were wondering if we could push out to our staff. Like, hey, if you
[18:40] want to go ahead and knock CPR out on one of those Friday afternoons in May, can we, let's
[18:45] do that um and uh you're here every Friday right? I will be here at the um 8th and the 15th but not
[18:55] the 1st and the 1st yes I check you're here all the Fridays. How would you be able to do that?
[19:02] I bet we could do that maybe just one afternoon just to check some of us off because if a new
[19:08] school nurse comes in I mean you know how crazy in services number one you
[19:13] know just maybe cutting her some slack maybe to just knocking out like the
[19:18] refresher courses you know like for that and then even I don't know about
[19:22] stop the bleed I don't know if a smaller group would make it easier where we
[19:25] could do like a Friday afternoon y'all come I think the way we did it in high
[19:31] school when they all just like come and do a bike and then a group comes and which
[19:35] And we would have we'll probably have new hires that will have to still do next year, but if we could knock out
[19:42] At least like half of them. I think it would take some
[19:49] That we could do that that would be I mean I know one year
[19:52] I did jump within the school because we were only we weren't but this year having so many days was great
[19:57] Yeah, but still it would definitely take some of the local well at the beginning of next year
[20:01] We don't have quite as many world days
[20:05] If we could do that that would probably help yes, because who knows if you know we hire a new school nurse
[20:11] If they're gonna be certified to teach to CPR by August, you know like so
[20:26] I'm available all those right so that Kelly had done in the cafeteria already in the comments where we had those station
[20:31] and then we just kind of back and do whatever.
[20:33] That's what I felt like.
[20:34] I did, too.
[20:35] I think it worked.
[20:36] Well, because it's like the ones that have done it,
[20:38] you can just be like, okay, go have any questions.
[20:40] Show me this and bike.
[20:41] Well, and even like if you wanted
[20:42] to throw that life back thing in there,
[20:45] I could bring the ones from this school
[20:46] and then when high school rotates through.
[20:48] And if there was any new ones,
[20:49] a mine that didn't get it,
[20:50] you could just set up that little life back station, too.
[20:54] Because we also added Narcan to it, too.
[20:56] I also added Narcan training to it, too,
[20:59] because it's just real quick
[21:00] I can show them real quick too.
[21:01] And even though we don't have to have everybody know it,
[21:04] by the policy or whatever, as long as two people
[21:06] or more that have the Narcan available,
[21:09] that they know it and they have been trained,
[21:11] but might as well throw it out there
[21:12] for everybody to know as far as you write that out.
[21:14] Yeah, so we could do that.
[21:16] But we love this set up and how quick it is.
[21:18] So really, I mean, how long was it like an hour, right?
[21:20] To get the whole an hour or two?
[21:22] I don't know.
[21:23] We stayed a little later than we had to,
[21:25] just making sure we caught up.
[21:26] The coaches were always hard to endure in that time.
[21:28] Don't you think afternoon, Christina?
[21:31] I mean, you'll probably do stuff in the morning and so will I, but if we could do like one
[21:35] to three on it?
[21:36] Really?
[21:36] Yes.
[21:37] Any of those?
[21:38] Friday.
[21:39] Friday's I think it would be great.
[21:42] Now I have to look at how many numbers.
[21:43] I mean, I have kind of gotten a little lags on my left from 10 or less with one structure you're
[21:49] supposed to have, but I've done more than that, but I'll have to look at how many is going to
[21:54] need to renew that okay then but yes I'm doing 10 per one
[21:59] instructor. So but yes I'll look at how many people are needing to be and I don't
[22:04] know how many groups we need to have and we can do that. Could we get a copy of
[22:08] that list of his who's up today who need yes and I've got it all the week kind of
[22:26] I think it would just help because it's always crazy to squeeze that in at the beginning
[22:30] of the school year when we're trying to get ready for me the teacher or stuff like that.
[22:35] It's just kind of crazy.
[22:36] I ended up having to go for a trauma, but every teacher was like,
[22:38] didn't we have to, I just, I felt like they were stressed too.
[22:41] They were, we were, we were, oh, that was stressful.
[22:44] So I thought if we could get about half of them at least knocked out,
[22:47] then we'll still have to do some, but I think it would be.
[22:50] Yeah, not okay.
[22:52] Yes.
[22:52] But I don't really have a preference on any of those.
[22:56] I'll talk to TJ when you let me know which one, which Friday.
[22:59] And I'm sure.
[23:00] Which really, you all can pick whatever.
[23:01] And she's here all three of those Fridays.
[23:03] So she could pick it one of the other.
[23:06] and if it worked great in the comments we can just do it and my crew can go over there
[23:13] and just let me know I can take those life back things or whatever but it just be nice
[23:17] if we could, those Fridays are going to be three, Friday, four Fridays actually. Teacher
[23:22] work days is going to be a lot of time that we can fill now and knock some things out I think.
[23:26] Okay, good idea. That sounds good yeah. Okay well I'll look at that tomorrow and we can also add that
[23:31] to anything
[23:40] else you want to think of that?
[23:42] I have the health country medical health, mental health, sorry, mental health people coming
[23:51] may 6th to our campus to do that required training for a new law, do you remember?
[24:02] That kind of stuff, mental health awareness or something like that, it's a new law, we have
[24:10] to have at least 25% of our staff trained or whatever.
[24:15] So she reached out to me and is going to come
[24:18] May 6th with eight of her teachers or her instructors
[24:24] to get our campus covered.
[24:27] Does that requirement only high school?
[24:30] No, I'm trying to get help, trying to think what this is.
[24:36] I can share her information with you.
[24:39] Yes, that would be great.
[24:40] OK.
[24:41] And maybe while they're here, kind of do it that same.
[24:43] OK.
[24:52] I don't know what the other thing was, Babette, Louis, okay.
[24:56] And also, we talked about that Becky was able to come over here.
[24:59] She spoke to the elementary students, but we didn't get to do that for her at school.
[25:02] What's that?
[25:03] The nutrition.
[25:04] That we were going to do it right, the nutrition for Becky Simmons and we were thinking
[25:09] just a little.
[25:10] Oh, just a little.
[25:10] So they have a health class at the high school.
[25:12] And they did that, okay.
[25:13] I know it's something about that, about high school students all over the world.
[25:17] Of course to me, and you know, I've always kind of, this has been one of my big things
[25:22] I'll wish we would have high school health.
[25:25] Just because of the issue that we have with the SCDs, the relationship issues, there's so
[25:30] many things that health can cover and of course it's not required to graduate.
[25:34] And so you get it in seventh, maybe I think, seventh or eighth, seventh, and you usually have
[25:37] a semester.
[25:38] And so I really have always had to push, I've always tried to push, but I think we do need more help, not just nutrition, but I mean obviously I know that's what she was talking about, but just to throw that out there again in the push for health in high school.
[25:53] But I know that's something for you anyway.
[25:56] Well Becky loves coming and she would love to do more outreach like that. She loves it.
[26:09] So, you know, one of the things when they came and did our safety checks, you know, when
[26:12] Cory Turner had come, there's a new thing now that they're requiring kind of like our
[26:17] drills.
[26:18] There's a, like emergency team that you should have together, that can be a drill of
[26:26] You take the behavioral assessment team?
[26:29] Maybe so, but I think it's more of a,
[26:33] we have a student that are having a heart attack.
[26:36] We need a emergency team that,
[26:39] I wrote down the name of what he told me
[26:41] because he said, do you have this in place?
[26:45] And I was like, no, we don't, he goes by next year.
[26:47] Y'all need to have a team where y'all do drills
[26:50] and I won't get the name of that, I'm so sorry.
[26:52] But basically it's drills for somebody's not
[26:55] emergency situation, not like a medical emergency, you should have a team that
[27:02] knows that if there's something that you get called and you are ready to, gosh,
[27:07] I'm so sorry I should have had that written down. I will look into that and let's
[27:11] all know for sure also in the email because I know he said next year we need to
[27:15] have a team in place and I don't think it's the same.
[27:19] What behavior threat assessment came into like a threat, like a suicidal threat, mental
[27:28] health threat, it could be like a bomb threat, it could be, it's just kind of a wide range
[27:35] of like a counselor or principal law enforcement, you know, to help decipher whether the threat
[27:43] is you know just substantial or and I do
[27:47] this is working in medical when Cory was
[27:50] mentioning it to me and I haven't heard
[27:52] anything about that. I will they have to
[27:54] report the findings at the last
[27:56] school board meeting Katie Ruiz read all
[27:58] the findings so surely if we needed that
[28:01] for a type that up on that report to
[28:03] Katie Ruiz. The name of it would be there
[28:07] but I did write it down.
[28:14] I'll find out what's going on in place that we needed to do, so tell me what was it called
[28:21] because mostly we had everything in place that we needed to do, so tell me on the mental
[28:28] home side, Whitney Merkett with the county came by today and said that she's going to try
[28:32] to bring mental health aid in class and she just took it with a six-hour
[28:37] course. Actually, she said it was great, but it was more of identifying before the
[28:41] crisis that we usually cost and in our museum usually gets to them at the
[28:46] crisis but this is noticing things before and going over stuff like that so when
[28:51] I think that's what part of that whole country stuff is because it's a new
[28:59] So she was going to try to get a class here, she could talk about summer time, but I'll
[29:05] definitely push it out so she said it was grant money, was funding fees, so if you all
[29:10] have any teachers or...
[29:12] So who will do the training her?
[29:14] She's bringing someone to do it.
[29:17] And then we'll over took the class, would be started by her, I think three years she's done.
[29:21] That'd be nice.
[29:22] But that would...
[29:24] If it fulfills that requirement, then we could do something.
[29:26] something like stop the bleed, you know, or even if it needed to be during summer
[29:30] given comp hours or something. Yeah, because I think the way I read it was 25%
[29:35] of the staff had to be sort of trained by August and then 50% by another day
[29:42] and then by the whole year then everybody has to be trained. So I want to say
[29:47] that that's just kind of what it is. But it's also it's a it's students and staff.
[29:54] so like we have to be trained but also the students need to be.
[30:00] The elementary students. I don't know. I just don't know. Honestly, it sounds familiar to me.
[30:12] But she did. She was going to go to school to be the mental health officer in town. Yeah. What was her need? Market, market. She was.
[30:31] She was up. You would know her. She was PD. She was on me all the time.
[30:35] She just moved over to the sheriff's department.
[30:39] Well, she's on it usually.
[30:40] Yes.
[30:41] Yes.
[30:42] Yes.
[30:43] That did sound familiar.
[30:44] Okay.
[30:45] Oh, yeah.
[30:46] Very cool.
[30:46] Yes.
[30:47] She was
[30:49] well.
[30:52] So I'm going to say probably the job and whatever ends up happening next year, what Shaq usually
[30:57] would be.
[30:58] You know, at the beginning of August, September will be probably the next meeting.
[31:01] Usually I'd like to, you know, make sure the community members who I would still like to
[31:05] being, but I'll have a list and the new nurse of your whoever can reach out and say,
[31:10] hey, you know, would you like to be a part of the check this year on the board can't
[31:14] appoint, but it is a lot of time to volunteer. So, but, okay. Anything else in your mind?
[31:23] For my part, the hospital is happy to participate. We always want to do community involvement.
[31:30] So, um, I'm willing to stay on this committee, remember, I don't want to speak really bad, I just want to stay on this committee.
[31:37] Yes, it's been great having y'all.
[31:39] Do y'all want co-chair? You have a kid in the system, you can be co-chair.
[31:43] No, thank you. Our plates are full enough already, but I keep them pretty busy.
[31:48] I think they're good.
[31:51] Well, it makes the most sense for school nurse to kind of head it up, but whatever is needed, I will do a bit.
[31:57] Yes.
[31:58] Okay.
[31:58] Thank you all very much.
