[0:29] This is a resolution approving honorary street name
[0:32] change for Samuel Henderson, in recognition
[0:36] of his extraordinary courage, and selfless
[0:42] service to the city of Memphis during the 1878.
[0:46] I wasn't born.
[0:48] Yellow fever epidemic.
[0:49] All Council district sponsored by Memphis City Council.
[0:52] I'm going to turn this over to Councilman Bertinelli.

[1:00] Colleagues I was extremely honored to be able to bring this
[1:05] and I'm very grateful for all of you signing on as co-sponsors.
[1:08] Something that I had no idea about until a member of Saint
[1:14] Peter Catholic Church brought it to my attention.
[1:16] Sam Henderson has an incredible story
[1:20] and his story meant a lot to me for a variety of reasons
[1:26] but he certainly is someone worth acknowledging
[1:31] and celebrating and appreciating.
[1:34] Many things in his life from surviving slavery
[1:39] to helping many sick church members and community
[1:45] members during the yellow fever epidemic and was truly
[1:49] a selfless person who gave of himself, each and every day.
[1:55] Expecting nothing in return.
[1:57] With that, chairman I move to the floor and I appreciate
[2:02] and I'm very very grateful for all of your support.
