[0:42]
wonderful blessings that you've given
us, even those that we didn't pay any

attention to, Father. We know that you
look after us
[0:50]
when when things are coming at us both
seen and unseen, and for that we thank
[0:55]
you. We also thank you, Lord, that your
bountiful blessings renew every morning,

not have been pleasing in your sight.

They renew every morning and we're
grateful for that. Father, we ask that

you bless this city, this state, this
country,

this country in a in a way that's
pleasing to you.
[1:22]
Father, we ask that you bless all of our
people that are serving in the armed

forces. Bless those who are sick and
shut in at home and are not able to get
[1:30]
out, and we also pray and ask that you
bless the homeless. Father, we pray that
[1:34]
everything that we do and say in this
meeting will be pleasing in your sight.
[1:38]
In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

[3:31]
Mercer I'm sorry, their um

the Mercer President's Dining Room at
Mercer University.
[3:44]
Um so, if you all are interested in
attending this event,
[3:47]
um the RSVP is due by September 15th, so
let me know and I can get you signed up
[3:51]
for that as well.
>> Okay.
[3:54]
» I said also too while we're making
announcements, I think you all received
[3:58]
an email from the Middle Georgia
Regional Commissions for their annual um
[4:04]
event which will take place on October
1st and um they'd like to have you
[4:09]
registered by September 18th, right?
>> Yes.
[4:12]
» If you plan on attending that event.
>> So if you need assistance with any of
[4:17]
those events, if you'd like to attend,
um I can gladly get you signed up if you
[4:21]
let me know.
Thank you, Ms. Your Hostetter.
[4:24]
» Thank you.
[4:26]
We don't have any old business tonight.
[4:31]
So we'll now move to the new business
part of the agenda tonight and I will
[4:34]
ask the clerk to read
ordinance O
[4:38]
2608-23
by caption as a first read.
[4:43]
» Ordinance O 2608-23
conduct the first reading of an
[4:47]
ordinance amending the land development
code to rezone property located at 286
[4:53]
Jones Road. Owner desires to rezone to
OI office institutional with special
[4:59]
use.
>> This is the first read of the ordinance
[5:03]
and I'm referring it to the planning and
zoning commission. I will ask the clerk
[5:07]
to read ordinance O 2608-24
by caption as a first read.
[5:13]
» Conduct ordinance O 2608-24
conduct the first reading of an
[5:18]
ordinance amending the charter to accept
approximately 2.286
[5:24]
acres of land into the corporate limits
of the city of Milledgeville.
[5:31]
» Okay and and this property is located at
136 Roberson Mill Road.
[5:40]
This is the first reading of this
ordinance and I'm referring it to the
[5:43]
planning and zoning commission.
I will ask the clerk to read resolution
[5:47]
R2608-20
by caption.
[5:51]
» Resolution R2608-20,
a resolution to authorize a lightning
[5:56]
services agreement Georgia Power Company
to install one LED roadway light on
[6:02]
Briarcliff Road.
>> You heard the resolution is there a
[6:07]
motion to adopt?
>> So moved.
[6:09]
» Second.
Is there any discussion?
[6:14]
I'll ask the clerk to call the roll,
please.
[6:16]
» Dr. Lee? Ms. Matt?
>> I.
[6:19]
» Ms. Pendergass?
>> I.
[6:20]
» Dr. Wells?
>> I.
[6:21]
» Ms. Shanahan-Oster?
>> I.
[6:24]
The final item on the agenda is to make
two appointments tonight.
[6:29]
So we're nominating Donald Hill for
appointment as the chair of the Planning
[6:32]
and Zoning Commission. I think Mr. Hill
has been acting chair for quite some
[6:38]
time now.
>> Yes, ma'am.
[6:39]
» Until we could get a full board and I'm
happy to say that now we do have a full
[6:43]
Planning and Zoning Board, so we can
move him up to the chair. Is there a
[6:48]
motion to confirm this nomination?
>> So moved.
[6:51]
» Second.
>> Is there any discussion?
[6:55]
I'll ask the clerk to call the roll,
please.
[6:57]
» Dr. Lee?
>> I.
[6:58]
» Ms. Matt?
>> I.
[6:59]
» Ms. Pendergass?
>> I.
[7:00]
» Dr. Wells?
>> I.
[7:02]
» Ms. Shanahan-Oster?
>> I.
[7:05]
Secondly, I'm nominating Ms. Melba
Hillson Butts for appointment to the
[7:10]
Public Facilities Authority Board and
that's taken the place. So Mr. Griffith,
[7:16]
what?
>> No, ma'am.
[7:18]
We're going to need to defer that
appointment and
[7:23]
we're having a conference call with our
bond counsel and uh
[7:28]
and Tom Owens on Friday
and
[7:33]
we'll be
reporting back after that as to how
[7:37]
those appointments need to take
>> Okay.
[7:40]
» Shade.
>> Okay.
[7:45]
Okay, those are all the appointments. Is
there a need for a closed session?
[7:49]
» Uh no, ma'am.
[7:54]
» Wow.
Nice and sweet. I'm searching for things
[7:59]
to do.
A few minutes.
[8:01]
Well, um
are there any um
[8:05]
comments from council?
[8:08]
» Just want to thank Georgia College and
KMBB. We picked up 11 bags of trash on
[8:13]
Dunlap Road on uh not this past Yeah,
this past Saturday. No.
[8:18]
Two Saturdays. This Saturday two weeks
ago. So, I appreciate Georgia College.
[8:22]
We keeping it clean.
>> Good. Thanks for that. Thank you.
[8:25]
» Let me Let me ask a question for for
your committee. Is it only District 5,
[8:29]
Dunlap area that you are um picking up
trash or there other areas that you're
[8:33]
going into?
>> KMBB picks up We have three or four
[8:36]
countywide cleanups pretty much
throughout the year.
[8:38]
» And where are they located?
>> Um we have cleaned up on Carrick Road.
[8:41]
We have cleaned up on Kings Road. We
have cleaned up on Dunlap. We have
[8:45]
cleaned up on Log Cabin. We have cleaned
up on Mary Weather. We have cleaned up
[8:50]
on Lowe's Road. It all depends on The
reason we choose Dunlap a lot of times
[8:55]
cuz there's a fire station there.
So, if a adopt-a-roader would like to
[9:01]
adopt a a slice of road, it's really 1
mile.
[9:06]
Then, they can adopt anywhere they'd
like. Um
[9:09]
I believe it was Atrium Navicent
recently that adopted over by the
[9:12]
hospital. I believe Melba, that's MLK
>> Mhm.
[9:15]
» that circles over there.
>> Was that Cobb Street or MLK?
[9:18]
» I'm not sure which one. You just asked
about the signage.
[9:21]
» it was Cobb Street.
>> May be Cobb. May be Cobb.
[9:23]
» Street.
>> So, yeah. They will be picking up four
[9:26]
times a year. Most of your adopters are
out in the county. This is our first
[9:31]
adopter in the city.
So, Dunlap is just a a place that we do
[9:35]
with Georgia College Gives day every
year because it's a safe spot and the
[9:40]
fire department is right there.
>> Okay.
[9:46]
Okay.
Thank you.
[9:49]
Anyone else?
[9:52]
Anything else?
>> Madam Pro Tem,
[9:56]
let me say to everyone,
we have city phones for a reason. If
[10:01]
you're called by myself or any other
staff member, please return the call.
[10:07]
Sometimes I can call some of y'all and
never get the call back. And then Ms.
[10:11]
Melba sends out emails and y'all don't
respond. So, when you don't respond and
[10:16]
she gives you a date and that date is
the date we need to be in place.
[10:22]
So, please make sure you respond into
her. We You know, I can see who's
[10:25]
responding. Everybody can see who's
responding and if you're not, then we're
[10:29]
not going to use this equipment or these
city phones or these tablets, we need to
[10:34]
turn them back in and let's let's let's
stop paying that bill.
[10:39]
Oh, that's all the news you said. I
forgot about that earlier, Madam Pro
[10:43]
Tem.
>> Okay.
[10:46]
Well, since there's nothing else, um
I'll ask for a motion to adjourn.
[10:51]
» So moved.
>> Second.
[10:53]
» I'll ask the clerk to call the roll.
>> Dr. Lee.
[10:56]
» Aye.
>> Ms. Mapp.
[10:57]
» Aye.
>> Ms. Pendergass.
[10:59]
» Aye.
>> Dr. Wells.
[11:00]
» Aye.
>> Ms. Shinhoster.
[11:01]
» Aye.
>> We stand adjourned.
