[6:21]
» We We won't meet again until we
honor the 25th anniversary of September
[6:26]
11th. And so there are so many in our
community that are
[6:30]
um of not only affected by that day, but
who are first responders, who are
[6:34]
um
who work in emergency services, who are
[6:38]
keeping our country safe. And so our to
our armed forces, our emergency
[6:42]
responders, and all those who uh we will
honor on September 11th, know that you
[6:46]
have our thoughts and prayers with you
as well.
[6:50]
Um that'll be a very
somber and solemn day, 20 25 years. I
[6:55]
work in education, and so we we now have
schools that are full of people who
[6:59]
weren't even born yet. And uh it's it's
a challenge to impart upon them the
[7:05]
gravity of that day, and ultimately the
the changes that our nation's face
[7:10]
nation faced uh following. So
talk to the young folks around you, and
[7:17]
helps you make sure that they they
understand how important that day is,
[7:21]
and the the world that they live in, and
those who continue to keep it safe and
[7:25]
free for us.
Um
[7:28]
that's all I got.
>> Mr. Chairman.
[7:30]
» Thank you, Mr. Chairman. Thank you,
Commissioner Stanson, for reminding us
[7:33]
of that. I do remember
uh where I was on that particular day.
[7:38]
Uh just wanted to remind the citizens uh
there is an election today uh in City
[7:42]
Council district three. Uh understand
that the turnout is very slow and for
[7:46]
those who are listening, if you live in
district three, please exercise your
[7:50]
right to vote. A number of things take
place on the local level that impacts
[7:54]
your quality of life. Education, health
care, job creation, housing and the
[8:00]
conditions of the housing, whether your
streets get paved or not. All those
[8:03]
important issues for local government,
so please exercise that right. If you
[8:08]
live in district three, three, get on
out there and do what uh
[8:13]
has been earned through blood, sweat and
tears. Thank you.
[8:17]
» Uh
yeah, just a few things to note on
[8:19]
upcoming events. Uh
The strategic planning meeting with
[8:23]
TPMA, is that today?
I thought it was tomorrow. Is that
[8:27]
» It's today.
>> Okay. Who is TPMA?
[8:29]
» Thomas P. Miller and Associates. You
won't get me again on that one.
[8:32]
» Okay.
>> They're the firm that won the bid for
[8:34]
our strategic plan.
>> That's it. Okay.
[8:36]
» Yes, sir.
>> All right. That's it.
[8:37]
What time is that?
>> 2:00.
[8:39]
» When?
I didn't know anything
[8:41]
» It's virtual.
>> Oh, virtual. Okay.
[8:43]
» Yes, sir.
>> Oh, okay. I missed it somehow. Did you
[8:45]
miss it?
>> Jenny, where's Jenny? Jenny, you sent
[8:48]
them invites, right?
[8:54]
Okay.
>> Okay. Well, we didn't know that. Uh if
[8:57]
you could hand us
>> Yeah, cuz we're not we're not
[8:59]
deliberating anything, so there's
nothing wrong with all of you being on
[9:01]
it.
>> The meeting with Jones Group tomorrow.
[9:03]
» Correct.
>> Okay.
[9:04]
Uh everybody's aware of that one, right?
>> Yes.
[9:06]
» Okay. Uh Labor Day, the offices
Montgomery County closed. Offices will
[9:11]
be closed and then on the 15th, we'll
have our next meeting, so
[9:14]
Uh
just for the commission, make sure you
[9:16]
look at the upcoming events.
And now we're going to
[9:20]
uh
recess into the uh
[9:24]
executive session and again, we will not
come back to this meeting area. We will
[9:30]
recess and exit and vote out
the formal session inside there, so
[9:36]
thank you all for being here and I hope
you'll see you in a couple of weeks.
[9:42]
Uh we need to move on to
