[8:48] you put on however many years ago. How
[8:51] long ago did you paint the house?

[10:41] Motion carries.
[10:45] » Thank you.
[10:49] » Thank you for coming. I appreciate

[10:53] and happy painting. Madame Chair, may I
[10:57] say something before the applicant
[10:58] leaves?
[10:59] >> Sure.
[11:00] » Sure.
[11:00] >> I apologize. This is ECD director Mishi.
[11:03] » I apologize. This is ECD director Mishi.
[11:03] Um, I want to let everybody on the call,
[11:06] uh, particularly applicants know that
[11:08] the city has recently been the victim of
[11:11] some scam attempts. Uh following
[11:15] commission or board meetings, uh there
[11:18] are scammers who are sending an email to
[11:21] applicants pretending to be the city and
[11:24] asking them to wire a payment uh as the
[11:28] final step of getting their approval. Um
[11:30] we have been in contact with the Laurel
[11:32] Police Department uh and with our IT
[11:35] folks. Um but uh paying the the
[11:39] department of uh fire marshall and
[11:41] permit services um check or online
[11:45] through the permit portal or
[11:48] uh I'm paying uh here at ECD um are the
[11:51] only ways to pay. We will never ask you
[11:53] to wire money. Um so if uh anybody does
[11:56] receive a solicitation like that, I
[11:58] apologize uh and always feel confident
[12:00] calling us to check and make sure that
[12:02] an invoice is real. Thank you, Madam
[12:05] Chair.
[12:06] >> Sure.
[12:08] » Sure.
[12:08] >> Thank Thank you all.
[12:14] » Agenda item four, HDCR R2026-0109
[12:20] for 25 Post Office Avenue submitted by
[12:24] Margaret Samuels. The applicant is
[12:26] seeking to put in a concrete driveway
[12:30] instead of an already approved asphalt
[12:33] driveway. Miss Williams, would you like
[12:35] to present your report?
[12:38] >> Good evening, Madam Chair, commission
[12:39] » Good evening, Madam Chair, commission
[12:39] members. This is Alexis Williams,
[12:41] planner one.
[12:43] >> The applicant is seeking historic
[12:44] » The applicant is seeking historic
[12:44] district commission to approval to amend
[12:47] driveway material. The applicant is
[12:50] seeking HDC approval to amend a
[12:52] previously approved driveway material.
[12:54] The historic district commission
[12:55] approved an asphalt driveway during the
[12:58] during the March 2026 HDC meeting. The
[13:02] applicant is now requesting approval to
[13:05] install a concrete driveway in its
[13:07] place. The applicant states that
[13:09] concrete has a longer service life than
[13:11] asphalt and requires less routine
[13:13] maintenance over time. Additionally, the
[13:15] proposed concrete driveway will be
[13:17] better match the existing concrete
[13:19] garage foundation and the existing
[13:21] concrete walkway that connects to the
[13:24] driveway, creating a more cohesive
[13:26] appearance on the property. The
[13:28] applicant also notes that using the same
[13:30] material for these connected features
[13:32] may help minimize the vententral thermal
[13:36] expansion between adjacent surfaces.
[13:39] Staff recommends the historic commission
[13:41] district commission approved certificate
[13:43] number HDC R202609.
[13:49] This concludes my report. Thank you
[13:51] madam chair.
[13:55] » And is the applicant
[13:57] here?
[14:06] Are there any questions for Miss
[14:09] Williams?
[14:24] » Could I entertain a motion?
[14:33] I would like to move that we approve
[14:35] HDCR
[14:37] 2026 01 09 for 25 Post a P post office
[14:43] avenue.
[14:45] >> I second that.
[14:48] » I second that.
[14:48] >> Thank you. We have a motion to approve
[14:50] » Thank you. We have a motion to approve
[14:50] from Miss Frasier and a second from Mr.

[15:24] Item number five, HDC
[15:30] Sorry. HDCR 2026
[15:34] 0106
[15:36] for 404 McGomery Street submitted by
[15:39] Steven Wallace. The applicant is seeking
[15:42] to replace
[15:44] the windows of his house. Miss Williams,
[15:46] would you like to present your report?
[15:49] >> Good evening, Madam Chair, commission
[15:51] » Good evening, Madam Chair, commission
[15:51] members. This is Alexis Williams,
[15:52] planner one with ECD. The applicant is
[15:54] seeking historic district commission
[15:56] approval to replace 36 windows. The
[15:59] applicant is seeking HDC approval to
[16:01] replace the existing windows at the
[16:02] property. The proposed work includes the
[16:05] replacement of 36 windows, including
[16:07] those located in the attic and basement.
[16:09] The replacement windows will fit within
[16:11] the existing window openings and will be
[16:13] double hung with a single light, no
[16:15] divided panes design that matches the
[16:18] existing window style. The existing
[16:20] windows have exceeded their useful
[16:22] service life and are in dapitated state.
[16:26] The project proposes replacing a
[16:28] combination of original wool wood single
[16:31] pane windows with added storm windows as

[16:37] windows that have been installed over
[16:39] time. Many of the existing windows in is
[16:42] inoperable. Certain broken panes of
[16:45] glass and will not o remain open without
[16:48] falling shut creating a safety hazard.
[16:50] The proposed replacement windows will be
[16:53] marvin double hung unit with solid wood
[16:56] interiors and vinyl clad exteriors. The
[17:00] windows will feature insulated
[17:01] doublepane glass to improve energy
[17:03] efficiency, thermal performance, and
[17:05] occupant comfort while maintaining the
[17:08] appearance of the existing windows. The
[17:10] existing frames will be placed with
[17:11] vinyl wrapped wood frames, and all
[17:14] exterior of components will be painted
[17:16] white to match the existing
[17:18] architectural style. Staff recommends

[17:44] » Great. Do you have anything you'd like
[17:44] to add?
[17:46] Uh, I think Miss Williams made the
[17:47] windows sound really good, so I'm I'm
[17:50] even happier to be buying them. I'm
[17:52] happy to answer questions. I don't think
[17:53] I have anything to add.
[17:55] >> Okay. Uh, commissioners, questions,
[17:59] » Okay. Uh, commissioners, questions,
[17:59] comments.

[18:03] » Yes, Miss Frasier.
[18:03] >> One is, what is your plan for the Queen
[18:05] » One is, what is your plan for the Queen
[18:05] Anne window next to the front door?
[18:08] >> That window is not going to be replaced.
[18:11] » That window is not going to be replaced.
[18:11] >> Okay. Um my other question is
[18:15] » Okay. Um my other question is
[18:15] it's the guidelines suggest that um
[18:20] windows be appropriate to the
[18:22] architecture of the house and when that
[18:26] house was built it would not have had
[18:29] blank windows with no
[18:33] uh mullions
[18:35] no or what they're calling paneling.
[18:38] Um, you don't need it on all of them,
[18:40] but maybe on the larger street facing
[18:43] windows, would you consider adding
[18:46] ammonium to make them two over one?
[18:50] >> Um, we have uh, sorry buddy, you have to

[19:14] >> Um
[19:16] » Um
[19:16] we would uh prefer not to. The house has

[20:05] Are there any other comments,
[20:08] questions?
[20:12] » Like to make a motion to approve.
[20:15] >> Okay.
[20:19] » This is Mary Alene. I'll second.

[23:09] meeting.
[23:10] >> Hello.
[23:13] » Hello.
[23:13] >> Oh, I'm sorry.
[23:15] » Oh, I'm sorry.
[23:15] >> I'm Francisco.
[23:18] » I'm Francisco.
[23:18] Yes. Thank you. All right. I apologize.
[23:29] » You understand English, Mr. Martinez?
[23:32] >> Uh, yes.
[23:34] » Uh, yes.
[23:34] >> Um,
[23:36] » Um,
[23:36] so commissioners, do you have any
[23:38] questions?
[23:44] you.
[23:46] >> Well, I have a I have a concern about um
[23:51] » Well, I have a I have a concern about um
[23:51] the paint on your roof and it's a metal
[23:54] roof, not a laminate roof or enamel
[23:58] roof. Um
[24:01] I am concerned that it is lead paint and
[24:05] about your you know that roof needs to
[24:07] be scraped.
[24:10] Is what are you doing about the lead
[24:12] paint?
[24:15] Uh the the
[24:19] uh scraper the the paint is very bad.
[24:22] They scrape it the paint and then put
[24:25] the the two coins the the the
[24:28] roof and paint.
[24:30] >> Well, the concern is what happens to the
[24:33] » Well, the concern is what happens to the
[24:33] paint that you scrape off.
[24:37] You need to properly remove lead paint.
[24:41] Uh, must be just a scraper and and just
[24:46] uh do a power washer and then put a new
[24:49] paint.
[24:51] >> Okay. Well, you need to be able to
[24:53] » Okay. Well, you need to be able to
[24:53] collect everything you scrape off.
[24:56] >> Oh, yes. Yes. Uh, let's try to uh uh to
[25:00] » Oh, yes. Yes. Uh, let's try to uh uh to
[25:00] to put all together in a plastic bag.
[25:08] » Are you going I'm sorry. I have a
[25:11] question. Are you going to be doing all
[25:13] this work yourself?
[25:15] >> Uh, yes.
[25:18] » So, did you say you were going to put
[25:21] plastic down?
[25:23] >> Just put a plastic down. Let's get a put
[25:25] » Just put a plastic down. Let's get a put
[25:25] a plastic down and and then we scrape it
[25:28] to the the scraper paint come a plastic.
[25:35] I'm just a little bit concerned that the
[25:36] lead paint is properly disposed.
[25:42] Uh
[25:43] >> yes I am.
[25:44] » yes I am.
[25:44] >> Yes I am. Yes. Uh we did script it very
[25:47] » Yes I am. Yes. Uh we did script it very
[25:47] well. Yes. Do a power washer and let's
[25:51] put two coins of paint
[25:53] >> for the roof paint.
[25:57] » Okay. I
[25:59] Mr. Mishi. Does the city have rules
[26:02] about this? I know when I'm in the house
[26:04] that I'm in, we had the the paint the
[26:08] lead paint removed from the entire
[26:11] house. Not the roof was not a a painted
[26:15] roof. Um, but there were vacuums
[26:19] attached to the scrapers. There were
[26:21] drop claws all around the house to
[26:24] collect anything that escaped. You know,
[26:28] power washing seems like it would spread
[26:31] flakes of paint all over.
[26:35] >> I know when you hire a company to do it,
[26:39] » I know when you hire a company to do it,
[26:39] they have to be certified in lead
[26:41] abatement
[26:42] >> to do that kind of work.
[26:47] So typically
[26:50] we meaning economic and community
[26:52] development um don't get that engaged
[26:56] with what's on the building with
[26:57] building materials and so on and so
[26:59] forth. That's generally handled by FMPS
[27:02] the department of fire marshall and
[27:03] permit services. Um
[27:06] and I am happy to facilitate a
[27:09] conversation between the applicant and
[27:12] FMPS. I obviously don't want lead paint
[27:15] chips floating anywhere um in the city.
[27:20] Um a brief search on the city website
[27:24] doesn't lead to anything about lead
[27:27] paint regulations.
[27:29] Um but I do know obviously that they
[27:31] exist nationally.
[27:33] >> The county I believe was also
[27:36] » The county I believe was also
[27:36] >> Okay.
[27:37] » Okay.
[27:37] >> Yeah. [clears throat]
[27:38] » Yeah. [clears throat]
[27:38] What is this?
[27:40] >> So, I am happy to uh if you want to do a
[27:44] » So, I am happy to uh if you want to do a
[27:44] conditional approval or if you think I
[27:47] would say tableabling it if you'd like,
[27:49] but the August recess obviously causes
[27:52] me some concern.
[27:57] » I have one other comment.
[28:00] the paint, excuse [clears throat] me,
[28:02] the paint that was specified in the
[28:04] application,
[28:06] >> the manufacturer themselves on have said
[28:09] » the manufacturer themselves on have said
[28:10] that it is not suitable for a metal
[28:12] roof.
[28:14] It's
[28:16] you need paint that will sort of have a
[28:18] little bit of flexibility and that paint
[28:21] is very rigid.
[28:24] It won't move when it heats and cools.
[28:28] So you can contact the um manufacturer
[28:33] if you want to use Rustoleum and there
[28:36] are other paint brands that are
[28:38] specifically made for old metal roofs.
[28:43] You have um if if you just say a metal
[28:46] roof, you're going to wind up with with
[28:48] something that that isn't going to work
[28:50] for you either. It's got it's turned
[28:52] steel
[28:55] and
[28:56] it's not like the modern metal roofs
[28:59] that you see on a shopping center. Those
[29:01] require some very, very fancy paint.
[29:05] The kind of roof you have does not.
[29:09] But if you use this paint, it'll crack
[29:11] and flake just like what you have now.
[29:17] » Good afternoon everyone. Sorry I was
[29:18] waiting. This is Rahul Castillo on my on
[29:21] behalf with Francisco Martinez. I got in
[29:24] a I was waiting on the on the waiting
[29:26] room to get in the meeting. Uh my bad
[29:30] for not getting in there as soon as
[29:32] possible.
[29:33] >> It's okay. We're happy to have you now.
[29:36] » It's okay. We're happy to have you now.
[29:36] >> Happy to be here. Happy to join you guys
[29:39] » Happy to be here. Happy to join you guys
[29:39] on uh on on on this meeting.
[29:43] >> Did you hear the comments that were made
[29:45] » Did you hear the comments that were made
[29:45] earlier?
[29:46] >> No. No, I was not able to hear them. I
[29:49] » No. No, I was not able to hear them. I
[29:49] don't know if you have the time to uh go
[29:50] over the comments real quick and I can
[29:52] give feedback.
[29:54] >> We we sure do. So, I'm I'm going to
[29:56] » We we sure do. So, I'm I'm going to
[29:56] start with with mine. Um
[29:59] >> yes.
[30:00] » yes.
[30:00] >> So, I just looked up that um
[30:05] » So, I just looked up that um
[30:05] the lead abatement does rule does not
[30:08] apply to owners who perform work in
[30:11] their own residence.
[30:13] >> Correct.
[30:15] » Correct.
[30:15] >> Which is surprising to me. Um, okay. And
[30:19] » Which is surprising to me. Um, okay. And
[30:19] then Miss Frasier has a concern about
[30:22] the paint.
[30:24] >> So,
[30:25] » So,
[30:25] >> the paint that was selected, um, the
[30:29] » the paint that was selected, um, the
[30:29] Rustoleum 3931 191, if you look on the
[30:34] in the Rustoleum
[30:37] site, they do not recommend that for a
[30:40] metal roof,
[30:41] >> okay? because it's brittle
[30:43] » okay? because it's brittle
[30:43] >> and when you have
[30:45] » and when you have
[30:45] >> expansion and contraction, it'll flake
[30:47] » expansion and contraction, it'll flake
[30:47] just like what you got now.
[30:50] >> So, um
[30:51] » So, um
[30:51] >> you need something that's appropriate
[30:53] » you need something that's appropriate
[30:53] for an old turn steel roof.
[30:58] >> Yeah. And I was looking at the email uh
[31:00] » Yeah. And I was looking at the email uh
[31:00] you recommend the Rostellian
[31:02] uh Calabar uh some other waterproofing.
[31:05] We can definitely uh send that over to
[31:06] you with the product data of the color
[31:08] that we're going to use if that if
[31:10] that's okay. and and uh it shouldn't be
[31:12] an issue. We can pick the the actual uh
[31:16] an actual better brand that can actually
[31:18] withhold for uh not just five but 10
[31:20] years.
[31:22] >> That would be good.
[31:23] » That would be good.
[31:23] >> Yeah. Yeah, I can do that. I can send
[31:25] » Yeah. Yeah, I can do that. I can send
[31:25] that over tomorrow. Um if uh if you have
[31:28] any other comments, I can I can get
[31:29] working on that tomorrow morning. Uh the
[31:32] color doesn't matter because my dad was
[31:34] thinking of painting it black.
[31:39] » Doesn't matter. It would be hot.
[31:42] >> Yeah, it will be hot. Yes, I agree.
[31:48] Are there any black metal roofs
[31:52] around?
[31:54] >> Uh, I won't be able to tell you if there
[31:57] » Uh, I won't be able to tell you if there
[31:57] is.
[31:57] >> I was thinking more of the
[31:58] » I was thinking more of the
[31:58] commissioners. I'm I'm sitting here
[32:00] trying to picture a black metal roof in
[32:03] town.
[32:04] We have the metal roof over the um
[32:08] >> front porch.
[32:10] » front porch.
[32:10] >> That's metal.
[32:11] » That's metal.
[32:11] >> Okay.
[32:16] » It was just a a general comment, you
[32:19] know.
[32:20] >> Okay. Perfect.
[32:25] » Are there any other comments or
[32:27] questions?
[32:35] All right. Would anyone like to make a
[32:38] motion?
[32:49] » I'd like to make a motion to approve
[32:52] HDCR20260115
[32:56] for 339 Laurel Avenue.
[33:01] with the Would you like to add the
[33:03] condition that they use an appropriate
[33:08] paint for an old roof?
[33:11] >> Yes. Using an appropriate paint for a
[33:15] » Yes. Using an appropriate paint for a
[33:15] vintage metal roof
[33:18] >> shouldn't be an issue.
[33:20] » shouldn't be an issue.
[33:20] >> Okay,
[33:22] » Okay,
[33:22] I'll second that.
[33:25] We have a motion to approve from Miss
[33:28] Frasier and a second from Council
[33:31] President Smith. Would you call the
[33:33] role, please?
[33:35] >> Miss Frasier?
[33:36] » Miss Frasier?
[33:36] >> Yes.
[33:37] » Yes.
[33:37] >> Council President Smith?
[33:39] » Council President Smith?
[33:39] >> Yes.
[33:40] » Yes.
[33:40] >> Miss Laz?
[33:42] » Miss Laz?
[33:42] >> Yes.
[33:42] » Yes.
[33:42] >> Mr. Delurn?
[33:44] » Mr. Delurn?
[33:44] >> Yes.
[33:46] » Yes.
[33:46] >> Miss Muhammad?
[33:47] » Miss Muhammad?
[33:47] >> Yes.
[33:48] » Yes.
[33:48] >> Miss Mcini?
[33:50] » Miss Mcini?
[33:50] >> Yes.
[33:52] » Yes.
[33:52] >> Motion carries. Thank you, Adora.
[33:55] » Motion carries. Thank you, Adora.
[33:55] >> Madame Chair, I apologize. Um, there is
[33:58] » Madame Chair, I apologize. Um, there is
[33:58] a Zoom hiccup and this meeting is about
[34:00] to end. Uh, I have just pasted an
[34:03] alternate Zoom in the chat and I think
[34:06] possibly that Adora has just sent it
[34:08] out. I apologize for this it blip. Um,
[34:12] it's very embarrassing obviously. Um,
[34:15] but this Zoom is going to inevitably end
[34:18] in less than a minute. Uh, so there is a
[34:21] link um to a new Zoom that is in the
[34:24] chat. Um, and it's possible that you
[34:27] might be about to get an email as well,
[34:29] but if everybody could copy that um, and
[34:33] open a new Zoom, uh, again, I apologize
[34:36] deeply.

[43:02] » Welcome to part two of our July HDC
[43:06] meeting. Uh, Council President Smith is
[43:11] not in attendance in part two. If he
[43:14] joins us, he will let us know.
[43:18] Agenda item number seven, HDC
[43:22] C 2027
[43:24] 00003
[43:26] for 113 St. Mary's Place submitted by
[43:30] Jeff Palumbo for Pilott High School. Um
[43:36] the school received approval in 2021
[43:40] and
[43:41] work stopped. Um so they are back. Would
[43:45] staff uh Miss Williams, would you like
[43:48] to present your report?
[43:50] >> Actually, Madam Chair, you get me.
[43:53] » Actually, Madam Chair, you get me.
[43:53] >> I soon as that came out of my mouth, I
[43:55] » I soon as that came out of my mouth, I
[43:56] knew I had the wrong name.
[43:57] >> All good. This is Jay Mishi, director of
[44:00] » All good. This is Jay Mishi, director of
[44:00] the Department of Economic and Community
[44:02] Development. Good evening, Madam Chair
[44:04] and Commission members. The applicant is
[44:06] again seeking historic district
[44:08] commission approval to conduct construct
[44:11] a 16,830q
[44:13] ft addition to St. Vincent Pilott High
[44:16] School located at 113 St. Mary's Place.
[44:20] The applicant proposes to build a
[44:22] performing arts theater onto the
[44:24] existing school fronting on the 9inth
[44:26] Street and Montgomery Street sides of
[44:29] the property. The building will have the
[44:30] following features. The exterior of the
[44:32] building will have split face masonry to
[44:35] closely match existing red brick 2 feet
[44:38] and 8 in above grade. The siding above
[44:41] the split face masonry will be Siri
[44:44] beige, royal blue, and terracotta as
[44:47] manufactured by American Buildings
[44:49] Company. The building will have white
[44:51] fixed insulated windows on the night and
[44:54] street elevation and exterior steel
[44:56] doors painted Siri beige, although you
[44:59] may note that they are rendered in
[45:01] terracotta in the architectural drawing.
[45:03] Uh the exterior lighting of the building
[45:05] will be black LED lights to project
[45:07] light no more than 50 ft from the
[45:09] building structure. No change is
[45:11] otherwise contemplated to the visible
[45:13] exterior of the property. All of the
[45:15] exterior work or rather all of the site
[45:17] work, landscaping and fencing was done
[45:20] in phase one of the project.
[45:22] The board of appeals approved the
[45:24] necessary variance for this project on
[45:26] May 28th, 2026.
[45:28] Uh as you noted, Madame Chair, um this
[45:33] was approved by the historic district
[45:34] commission on May 18th, 2021. Uh but the
[45:37] project needed to be phased due to
[45:39] financial concerns and the applicant was
[45:41] unable to begin this part of the
[45:42] construction before the previous
[45:44] approval expired 12 months after it was
[45:47] issued. The applicant's proposed
[45:49] addition appears to meet the
[45:50] requirements established in the city of
[45:52] Laurel's Unified Land Development Code
[45:54] and staff recommends the historic
[45:56] district commission approve certificate
[45:58] number HDC
[46:00] C2027003.
[46:05] Thank you. Mr. Palumbo, do you have
[46:10] anything you would like to add?
[46:12] >> Um, no. Just that uh you know, this was
[46:14] » Um, no. Just that uh you know, this was
[46:14] all um designed uh with the historic
[46:19] district commission um u you know, five
[46:22] years ago. It's totally different from
[46:25] the way it was originally designed. We
[46:27] worked very closely with the commission
[46:28] at that time. Um and we did a lot of
[46:33] things as as part of that. uh you know,
[46:37] approval. Um because we also, if you
[46:39] remember correctly, had some houses that
[46:41] had to be taken down. Um we've even gone
[46:45] as far as to save the brick from the
[46:47] historic house to be incorporated into
[46:50] this building as in the lobby of our um
[46:54] uh of of the new performing arts center.
[46:57] Um so it's all the same materials, same
[46:59] colors, everything that we originally
[47:01] started with. Um, if you've seen the
[47:04] pictures, the the the fascia on this
[47:07] project, um, it's not just follows the
[47:10] roof line. It's designed to kind of
[47:13] incorporate the rowouses to to look like
[47:16] the rowouses across the street as well.
[47:21] >> Okay. So, could you um
[47:25] » Okay. So, could you um
[47:25] put your screen on page 35?
[47:30] Whoever screen we're looking at on the
[47:33] application, could you put page 35 up
[47:36] there, please? Scroll down to 35.
[47:48] And I think we can probably rotate that
[47:50] for you as well.
[48:01] Is it?
[48:07] » So that picture in the upper right, Mr.
[48:10] Columbia. That's what we'll be seeing
[48:12] from Ninth Street.
[48:13] >> Yes. Yes, ma'am.
[48:14] » Yes. Yes, ma'am.
[48:14] >> Okay. Um and at some point I heard
[48:17] » Okay. Um and at some point I heard
[48:17] someone mention the fencing and
[48:19] landscaping was complete. I have not
[48:22] seen any trees planted.
[48:24] >> No, the landscaping has not been
[48:25] » No, the landscaping has not been
[48:26] completed. We um planted trees on the uh
[48:30] and bushes on the um on the side where
[48:35] the uh Keesler Center is and some in the
[48:38] front. Uh, but we didn't do anything in
[48:41] the back yet because we knew that we
[48:43] would still be having construction, but
[48:45] the landscaping plan is through the
[48:47] county and that's all to be done
[48:50] completed at the end of this project.
[48:55] » There's there's over 200 plants that
[48:57] will be going in.
[48:59] >> Okay. I mean, I I was kind of, you know,
[49:02] » Okay. I mean, I I was kind of, you know,
[49:02] I've been waiting for the trees as I
[49:05] drive on Ninth Street because I think
[49:07] your neighbors would really appreciate
[49:11] trees and the best time to plant a tree
[49:14] is yesterday.
[49:17] Are there any other comments or
[49:19] questions from any commissioners?
[49:22] >> Where exactly is the theater edition
[49:24] » Where exactly is the theater edition
[49:24] going?
[49:27] So, if you have been on the back side of
[49:30] Ninth Street and you've seen the uh the
[49:34] these colors
[49:36] uh back there, are you familiar with
[49:38] that?
[49:39] >> Mhm. [clears throat]
[49:39] » Mhm. [clears throat]
[49:39] >> So, that was supposed this was all
[49:42] » So, that was supposed this was all
[49:42] supposed to be built at the same time
[49:44] and when COVID hit the price of
[49:47] everything went up so high that we
[49:49] didn't have the funds. So, uh, this
[49:51] group actually approved us to do what we
[49:54] did at that point knowing that this was
[49:56] coming later. Um, and so it's just added
[50:00] on. If you, if you look back there where
[50:02] that is, you see the sidewalks and this
[50:05] goes right inside the sidewalks. All the
[50:07] sidewalks and all the underground stuff
[50:09] was done knowing that this was coming in
[50:11] the future. So, it fits right in there
[50:14] where the uh sidewalks outline the gray
[50:17] and the the green field in the back
[50:20] there. So, it's it's added on to
[50:25] what we built in 2020 24.
[50:32] » Still don't know where it's going.
[50:34] >> Okay. So, if if you're if you're looking
[50:35] » Okay. So, if if you're if you're looking
[50:36] at this picture here,
[50:38] you're looking at a view from 9inth
[50:40] Street. Yes.
[50:42] >> Back towards almost like where the um
[50:45] » Back towards almost like where the um
[50:45] the Union Hall is.
[50:47] >> Uhhuh.
[50:48] » Uhhuh.
[50:48] >> And you're looking back at Pilates
[50:50] » And you're looking back at Pilates
[50:50] property from the Union Hall back
[50:54] towards Pilott.
[50:57] So it this is right up, you know, this
[51:00] this side comes out to almost to Ninth
[51:03] Street.
[51:04] So, this is going right in front of the
[51:07] gymnasium
[51:09] where there's currently a a grassy area
[51:12] that looks like it could be an athletic
[51:14] field but is not.
[51:16] >> Correct.
[51:17] » Correct.
[51:17] >> Oh, okay.
[51:22] » There is not a very clear illustration
[51:25] anywhere on this.
[51:27] >> A site plan of some kind. Yeah,
[51:29] » A site plan of some kind. Yeah,
[51:29] >> there's a there's a site plan earlier
[51:31] » there's a there's a site plan earlier
[51:31] on. There is, but it is very hard to
[51:33] read.
[51:34] >> So, I think if I may, um, if you look at
[51:37] » So, I think if I may, um, if you look at
[51:37] this picture that's that's in the top
[51:40] right corner, um, and you know, if you
[51:43] start at where that tree is, which is
[51:46] the corner of the proposed theater, and
[51:48] you move over to the right, you can see
[51:50] a building with sort of a sloping up
[51:53] roof line.
[51:54] >> Mhm.
[51:54] » Mhm.
[51:54] >> You see that? So, that sloping up roof
[51:56] » You see that? So, that sloping up roof
[51:56] line is the current athletic building.
[52:00] And between that sloping roof line
[52:02] building and the parking lot, there's
[52:03] currently a large square of grass.
[52:07] Does that help at all?
[52:08] >> Yeah, I think so.
[52:11] » Yeah, I think so.
[52:11] >> Okay.
[52:13] » Okay.
[52:13] >> So, the the theater will be facing
[52:15] » So, the the theater will be facing
[52:15] Montgomery.
[52:18] » Uh yeah. Well, it it's in the corner of
[52:22] this building
[52:24] um facing 9inth and Montgomery. It's
[52:27] it's right in that corner where the tree
[52:29] is. Okay.
[52:30] >> The the the rest of the building is is
[52:33] » The the the rest of the building is is
[52:33] um so the seating I mean the theater is
[52:36] about 210 seats. So it's it's it takes
[52:38] up about maybe 30% of this building and
[52:41] the rest of it is a dance studio and
[52:44] studios for all the performing arts.
[52:46] >> Wonderful.
[52:52] » Okay. On page 28 I have one more
[52:54] question. Mhm.
[52:56] >> Um, where did those lights go?
[53:02] » Where are we?
[53:03] >> Page 28.
[53:10] » 27 28.
[53:13] >> Those are those those are not approved
[53:16] » Those are those those are not approved
[53:16] lights. That's not what we have.
[53:21] » Where there's some gooseeneck.
[53:23] >> They're they're goose neck. I'm sorry.
[53:24] » They're they're goose neck. I'm sorry.
[53:24] This is Leonard Davis. They're
[53:25] gooseeneck lights. That's not That was
[53:27] those wall.
[53:31] » Yeah.
[53:32] The the lights that we have up there now
[53:35] are the ones that were approved by by
[53:37] the commission. These were not not
[53:40] approved.
[53:41] >> Okay.
[53:42] » Okay.
[53:42] >> I don't know why they're still in there,
[53:43] » I don't know why they're still in there,
[53:43] but yeah.
[53:48] » Okay.
[53:49] >> Thank you. Any other comments or
[53:52] » Thank you. Any other comments or
[53:52] questions?
[53:54] So, which lights are they going to be
[53:56] using?
[54:00] » Um,
[54:03] they're they're an LE LED goose neck
[54:05] light. Um, per the rendering, it's kind
[54:06] of I think it's shown in the rendering
[54:08] pretty well. They've got like a um
[54:10] >> a metal stem that comes over and down.
[54:12] » a metal stem that comes over and down.
[54:12] It's kind of like a a classic a classic
[54:15] look. So, it's not industrial like that.
[54:18] >> There is an illustr There is a photo of
[54:21] » There is an illustr There is a photo of
[54:21] them. I'm looking to see what page
