[8:07] Tonight, we are also proud to recognize the community impact the historic

[8:11] Nolensville Buttercup Festival has had and to give back to the organizations and

[8:16] schools that help make our community so special.

[8:18] This year's festival was held on Saturday, May 2nd, in the historic district,

[8:22] bringing together residents, visitors,

[8:25] and local businesses to celebrate Nolensville's history and culture.

[8:28] The festival welcomed 140 vendors and featured performances throughout the day,

[8:33] 4 stages with a variety of music including bluegrass, rock, soul, and more.

[8:37] The festival also featured the Buttercup Festival Pageant crowning Miss Buttercup

[8:41] Princess, Little Miss Buttercup, Miss Preteen Buttercup, Miss Buttercup Teen,

[8:46] and Miss Buttercup. We also brought back the My Little Buttercup online pageant,

[8:50] which had 44 entries from local dogs.

[8:52] As a community-driven event,

[8:54] the Buttercup Festival would not be possible without the dedication of its

[8:58] possible without the dedication of its volunteer

[8:58] boards and the support of the community.

[9:01] And so before we call up the organizations that are receiving the donations,

[9:05] I'd also like to call up any members of the committee that are here tonight.

[16:47] And then we can compare it to our list of folks that have come in and gotten a

[16:53] license or gotten registered in order to do that.

[16:56] The whole purpose of that is to make sure that, just like any of the hotels,

[17:02] those organizations also have to pay the hotel motel tax.

[17:06] And that's the— its purpose is to just review, make sure that the lists are,

[17:12] are the same and similar.

[34:07] And in one week, our nation will remember the atrocities of 9/11.

[34:12] I read an article today from Pew Research Center that says 10% of the adults in 2026

[34:18] have no first-person memory necessarily of that day because They weren't born yet.

[34:24] They've learned it in school or learned it from their parents.

[34:29] Last night, my wife and children and I were watching a show about 9/11.

[34:34] And on spring break a year ago,

[34:36] we took our children to New York City and we took them to the National 9/11 Museum

[34:42] because it's important that we continue to tell the next generation what those of us

[34:48] who were alive and remember from that day, to teach, to remember. To honor.

[34:54] Indeed, while we may remember the atrocities of it,

[34:58] may we never forget the acts of service— neighbors helping neighbors,

[35:03] people running to the danger.

[35:05] We start these meetings off with prayers and the Pledge of Allegiance.

[35:10] Tonight we heard a distinguished member of the clergy of our community Pray that we

[35:16] would all love our neighbors.

[35:18] One thing I remember from 9/11 was seeing people lined up over on Charlotte Avenue

[35:24] to donate blood at the American Red Cross Center. Love your neighbor.

[35:29] United we stand. May that become more of a slogan. May it become an ethos.

[35:35] May we again remember— some folks may say never forget.

[35:39] I'm going to choose may we always remember.
