[0:02] Okay, calling the meeting to order at
[0:04] 8:32
[0:06] and we are going to start with the
[0:08] pledge of the least.
[0:12] Okay, I pledge allegiance to the flag of
[0:15] the United States of America to the
[0:17] republic for which it stands one nation
[0:22] indivisible with liberty and justice for
[0:24] all.
[0:26] Okay, attendance. So, as mentioned, Matt
[0:30] is not here and uh Sherry is not here.
[0:35] Everybody else is here with two Zoom
[0:38] attendees.
[0:40] Um, is anybody willing to uh make
[0:44] changes to the minutes from last time or
[0:46] put a motion in to approve them?
[0:48] >> I have not changed, but I don't have my
[0:50] computer. If somebody
[0:52] >> I can give you a copy of them.
[0:54] >> Okay. Uh, it's a very simple one. I
[0:56] didn't make copies for everybody.
[1:00] >> It is um
[1:01] >> it's not so under uh report of
[1:04] committees under village township joint
[1:07] efforts planning scavenger hunt um that
[1:10] is not the township's 250th anniversary.
[1:13] It's the Oh, there you are.
[1:17] >> It's the country's 250.
[1:18] >> Oh. Uh all right. So
[1:21] today
[1:23] >> Okay. Anything else?
[1:25] >> That was all I saw.
[1:26] All right. Is there a motive 17?
[1:29] >> Is there a motion to accept the minutes
[1:32] as amended?
[1:34] >> I'll move the minutes.
[1:36] >> Okay.
[1:37] >> I'll second it.
[1:38] >> All right, Brian.
[1:41] Susan, is there any discussion?
[1:45] All in favor?
[1:47] >> Any oppose?
[1:49] Okay, so that's done.
[1:52] Amend agenda. Well, I apologize for my
[1:55] lack of formality, but something came up
[1:58] this morning, so I amended the agenda in
[2:00] scribble. Um, so considered amended. Is
[2:04] there anybody else that wants to add
[2:05] anything that I have not yet added?
[2:09] >> Have the
[2:14] » with you. I just gave you the bullet
[2:16] point. You can say whatever you want. I
[2:18] don't know if you had to add it, but under North Point Park, there's
[2:22] still a Republic container there that
[2:24] hasn't been picked up for months.
[2:26] >> Uh, the Republic is still there.
[2:30] >> Oh,
[2:36] no, I'm just kidding.
[2:39] >> Supposedly, my husband is supposed to
[2:40] send it.
[2:42] >> So, I don't know if that's an amendment.
[2:44] >> No, it's not a just a thing. So like,
[2:49] excuse me, please.
[2:52] >> Hello.
[2:56] » Just realize you both got past the
[2:58] barrier here. That's good. Sorry.
[3:02] >> Okay. Any public comment? You're our
[3:04] only public member. Doing a great job.
[3:07] >> Do you want to come more often?
[3:13] their correspondence that I'm aware of
[3:16] is uh there is a lady that sent a note
[3:19] in asking questions about the fitness
[3:22] park and at um North Point and I
[3:28] responded to that and um she seemed
[3:31] happy with the response but then called
[3:33] in unhappy with the response and with
[3:37] several other items like the trail like
[3:40] tennis courts and other things. Uh but
[3:42] those are out of our area. Uh so I u
[3:45] responded further to the specific
[3:47] location was just what she had asked
[3:49] for. And so I think that's done.
[3:51] >> And then we just got hold on we just got
[3:53] one other piece from um H or from Emma
[3:58] that on the whole issue of HWA at at
[4:03] Glenn. So I'll get into that.
[4:04] >> Chelsea's waiting.
[4:06] >> Oh, I already let Chelsea in.
[4:19] Hey. Hey, Chelsea. Uh, I had already let
[4:21] you in. Did you drop off?
[4:27] You got to unmute in order to answer.
[4:30] >> No, I That's very strange. So, sorry.
[4:32] I'm here.
[4:34] >> Okay. But did you get in before or was
[4:36] this is this the first time you got in?
[4:38] This is the first time I'm here.
[4:40] >> Okay.
[4:40] >> It just said I was in waiting room.
[4:43] >> All right. So, you haven't heard
[4:44] anything, huh?
[4:46] >> Oh, congratulations on all the projects
[4:48] that have been assigned to you in the
[4:50] last few minutes.
[4:51] >> Oh,
[4:54] >> just kidding. Just kidding. Okay, we've
[4:56] been through just the basics. The
[4:58] minutes uh amend agenda. Is there any
[5:00] Did you have any changes to the minutes?
[5:02] >> No.
[5:03] >> Okay, sounds good. Uh we're on
[5:05] correspondence and uh calendar route. Uh
[5:08] Jean, can you and I meet separately uh
[5:12] discuss the operational items? Uh
[5:14] because I don't want to take up
[5:15] everybody's time on that because we got
[5:16] a lot of other group assignments that I
[5:19] want to go through. So maybe we can just
[5:20] find some time to do that.
[5:23] >> That would be fine. Next week.
[5:25] >> Next week. Okay. Why don't you pick a
[5:27] time and then just let me know.
[5:29] >> Okay.
[5:30] >> All right. Um, I would like to hand out
[5:36] um the assignments
[5:40] and you know over the past I've just
[5:42] kind of blown through the assignments.
[5:44] But the reality of it is um if we don't
[5:47] actually get the assignments done then
[5:49] we're not really making any progress as
[5:52] a group. And so in the past I've just
[5:55] asked, can you let me know whether I've
[5:57] made any mistakes or not? But now I just
[5:59] kind of like to go through them and find
[6:01] out uh where we are and all the specific
[6:03] items. And uh we'll start with me.
[6:08] Um, and the webcam application. Um, I I
[6:12] have this is for a webcam out at
[6:15] Langland and I've submitted an
[6:18] application to Consumers Energy which
[6:20] you have to do if you want to put
[6:22] something on that poll. I did that back
[6:24] on June 9th and I've not heard back. I
[6:26] think this is going to take some
[6:27] followup but honestly I'm going to work
[6:30] on it as as best I can as time permits.
[6:34] Five-year plan web updates when received
[6:36] by committee members. uh they parking
[6:39] lot uh outlet Avenue disc golf that sort
[6:42] of things when I get specifics from you
[6:45] which I've gotten some I'll add those to
[6:47] the website but right now that's pending
[6:50] Brian boardwalk connection from North
[6:52] Point to wetlands for the 5-year plan.
[6:54] So Brian's what we need to do is maybe
[6:57] take an aerial picture of where we're
[7:00] going to connect and where that walkway
[7:02] is going to be and um just do something
[7:04] because with every one of these things
[7:06] that go in the five-year plan for people
[7:08] to vote on
[7:09] >> um I want to have those three things the
[7:12] conceptual drawing cost estimates and
[7:15] just a little background of what it is
[7:17] and then we'll put in a quiz of you know
[7:19] do you really support this thing but
[7:21] like that are out there right now. So,
[7:22] that's one you and I need to figure out
[7:24] some time to do.
[7:24] >> I'd like to um communicate with Steve
[7:27] Cunningham, too, about that because we
[7:29] walked a possible connector trail and he had different ideas than I had
[7:34] thought of about keeping it on the level
[7:38] of this higher plane. He, you know, he's
[7:40] an expert on it. So, he knew how to keep
[7:43] the elevations consistent and then he
[7:46] knows the type of boardwalk and he would
[7:48] know costs and things. And and my
[7:51] question is if we're looking at cost
[7:53] estimates, we we probably have to seek
[7:56] out help from the consery because they
[8:00] are experts on boardwalk building and
[8:03] then we have the sensitive issue of the
[8:06] commitment.
[8:08] >> Agree. Agreed. So I think it's going to
[8:10] happen is um Ed secured a commitment
[8:12] from GTRLC that by the end of the year
[8:15] they will put language in an agreement
[8:17] between the township and them that we
[8:19] will provide them ownership of that
[8:22] property and in it um we reserve the
[8:25] right to go forward with a boardwalk and they are not committed to that but
[8:33] they are welcome to participate when we
[8:35] go forward with that but they can't
[8:37] preclude us from doing
[8:38] And so she's agreed to have that
[8:40] language set up,
[8:41] >> right?
[8:42] >> But what I don't think and don't know is
[8:45] will they give us help with this kind of
[8:47] thing like the cost estimates. I think
[8:50] that's easy. They've already done it,
[8:51] but I think they'll work through it, but
[8:53] then I'd also like to help with
[8:55] conceptual drawing and that sort of
[8:57] thing where they have the ability to do
[8:58] that. So all right, that would be great
[9:00] if you can have a conversation.
[9:03] >> Okay.
[9:04] >> Uh waiting vendor update regarding
[9:06] consumer. Okay, that's a duplication of the webcam thing up there. So, I'll
[9:12] clean that up. Vic and Jean begin a road
[9:14] in inventory, photos, documentation of
[9:16] township and county road ends, present
[9:18] the findings to the board. Jean and I
[9:20] did our first trip, took some pictures.
[9:22] We have a format and um Jean, did you
[9:26] have any other things you wanted to
[9:27] mention on that or just something we got
[9:29] to keep working on? Okay, great.
[9:31] Um I am supposed to get the name of the
[9:34] Japanese barbaric removal tool from Buck
[9:37] and I did not. So I need to get on that.
[9:40] >> Would like that too.
[9:41] >> Okay. So So get
[9:43] >> the name of this
[9:44] >> get to me
[9:48] Ryan.
[9:51] Um
[9:55] Vic to see if you can add on in front of
[9:57] parks and wreck on the webbased news
[9:59] flash. I cannot. So Michelle, that was
[10:01] your request. That's something that's
[10:03] built in and I can't do it.
[10:04] >> I'm sorry. I missed something.
[10:06] >> That was to add on the word on in front
[10:09] of parks and recreation, the web-based
[10:11] news flash functionality. I can't
[10:13] >> maybe just the um the title should start
[10:16] with Onaca Township Parks and Rec or
[10:18] something.
[10:18] >> The the title itself can't I in the
[10:22] words the words of the news flash
[10:24] >> subject say who it's coming. So, and
[10:27] generally what I do is just send out
[10:29] whatever you or someone sends me. So, if
[10:31] you would help me remember that, that
[10:33] would be great. Vic to follow up with
[10:35] Emma on the hemlock issue. I I just got
[10:37] that information uh yesterday. And what
[10:40] GVSU said was while they can't
[10:43] specifically see HWA at Glenn, there are
[10:47] areas that do look suspect and they look
[10:50] suspect in roughly the same uh
[10:54] coordinates of where the limb fell from
[10:57] the earlier person. And so they they've
[10:59] given me a suggestion on how to move
[11:02] forward with that. I've got to read it.
[11:03] was sent to Tyler as well. Tyler
[11:06] hasn't responded, but I'll I'll work on
[11:08] that issue. And Jean, let's you know
[11:11] that that's an invasive species thing.
[11:13] So, let's just you and I be connected on
[11:15] that. This at this point, I haven't
[11:17] really gotten any volunteers to, you
[11:19] know, how are we going to spend our five
[11:20] grand? And here we are almost halfway
[11:22] through the year and we haven't spent
[11:23] any. So, we need to get our act
[11:25] together. Um, so you and I can manage
[11:27] that.
[11:29] Recreation inventory. So, Vic and
[11:31] Chelsea uh need to get together. Vic um
[11:34] cleared his schedule one day so that he
[11:36] was available for u Chelsea and then got
[11:39] up in the morning and forgot completely
[11:41] about it and stood her up.
[11:43] >> Um and so I I need to get that done. Um
[11:47] and Chelsea, have you done anything on
[11:49] that
[11:51] other than what we know already? And
[11:53] you've got to you got to unmute
[11:54] yourself.
[11:57] >> I did send what I had um and I've
[12:00] stopped working on it uh at this point.
[12:03] So,
[12:03] >> you sent that to my you sent that to my
[12:05] Outlook.
[12:07] >> Yeah, when we when we tried to
[12:08] reschedule and it wasn't working out.
[12:10] Um, I sent you what I had.
[12:13] >> All right. I I I missed it. Um, I got a
[12:16] lot of stuff in Outlook, so I'll go back
[12:18] and look.
[12:19] >> I That That's the roads, right?
[12:21] >> This is um recreation inventory. Yeah,
[12:25] it includes roads.
[12:26] >> I sent you the picture. Somebody built a
[12:28] brand new dock at the end of Arborite
[12:30] right in the middle of the public
[12:31] access. Oh, you saw that too, Chelsea.
[12:34] >> I saw that. I kind of I'm kind of hands
[12:37] off on this right now that you guys saw
[12:40] that. I'm I'm sorry. Go ahead.
[12:43] >> No, that's okay. I've kind of stopped.
[12:45] I've kind kind of come to a hard stop
[12:47] because there's so many controversial
[12:50] situations in this. And I believe the
[12:52] inventory has been also done in previous
[12:55] past that it's going to be pretty
[12:57] similar to what we have because I think
[12:59] we stopped doing some of the the the
[13:02] investigation,
[13:03] >> right? There's two things that are being
[13:05] discussed, right? Number one is we need
[13:07] to provide an inventory as part of the
[13:10] five-year plan to the town or to the
[13:13] county, and that's due on July 1st. Now,
[13:16] you're bringing up an enforcement issue,
[13:18] which is a second issue entirely. So,
[13:20] we'll need to deal with that entirely.
[13:22] But right now, I just want to talk about
[13:24] uh our our final deliverable. And
[13:28] Chelsea, you sent me what you had. We
[13:31] completed what we did on OnCA Township.
[13:33] Now, I just need to look at um county
[13:37] road ends and that sort of thing. And at
[13:39] board meeting, they've accepted
[13:41] everything and they told me that they'll
[13:43] just let us fly with whatever we do. So,
[13:45] I'll take what you did. I'll finish it
[13:47] up using the recreation map. So, um,
[13:50] that that one's that one's mine and I'll I'll finish it. Where are we?
[13:59] So, I'll complete that and submit.
[14:07] And then I need to post a news flash on
[14:09] the Glen Park invasive species, but I
[14:11] need to get to the point where I have
[14:12] something to publish. And then I will
[14:15] continue to update the web with maps um
[14:19] include both schematic and pathway. So
[14:22] uh I've got that for North Point. U but
[14:26] these are ongoing web updates and uh
[14:28] hopefully um our web page is um is is
[14:34] reasonable and respectable uh at this
[14:36] point. Uh there are a lot of complaints
[14:38] about the township website, but um in in
[14:41] those complaints, we kept getting thanks
[14:44] for parks and rough for doing what they
[14:46] can. Township should be doing it, too.
[14:49] Matt's not here, so we're going to jump
[14:51] to Michelle
[14:52] drinking fountain at North Point. Uh for
[14:55] the five-year plan, again, same thing I
[14:57] mentioned to Brian. If you need a
[14:59] conceptual drawing, cost estimates, and
[15:01] history.
[15:02] >> When do you need that by? Well, um
[15:07] the specific projects for the five-year
[15:09] plan do not need to be included in our
[15:12] submission to um the county.
[15:17] We're done once I submit the inventory,
[15:21] but I'd like it as soon as possible
[15:23] because if you go out to our website
[15:24] right now and you go to uh parks and
[15:28] recre
[15:31] planning and you go to uh five-year
[15:34] plan,
[15:36] um we have the projects listed out
[15:39] there. And right now we have the Glen
[15:42] Park Restoration, the trails project,
[15:44] which I need to update because it's now
[15:46] a different project, this golf fitness
[15:48] course, Eagle View, drinking fountain,
[15:51] but we don't have anything there. I want
[15:53] to get this updated as quickly as we can
[15:55] because I am now getting input on this
[15:57] specifically that lady who called in
[15:59] with all the other items had comments
[16:01] and concerns about our various plans. So
[16:04] to me, when can you get it done? Uh I
[16:07] mean can you get it done in a month? Is
[16:10] the two months because the just whatever
[16:13] and start with something easy. I mean to
[16:15] me it's a fact I might even have I've
[16:18] got a picture of a drinking fountain. So
[16:20] there's your concept. Um you know I just
[16:23] need some cost estimates and and you're
[16:26] you have some discussions or is is has
[16:29] Jennifer taken more of a lead on that?
[16:32] >> Not as far as I know.
[16:34] >> Okay then. Well I don't know either. No,
[16:36] I just I need to go back to the
[16:37] information I picked up at the
[16:38] conference.
[16:40] >> Okay. So, if you could um that's
[16:42] something I'd like to just fill in all
[16:44] the details on the website and then that
[16:46] allows people to to give us their input
[16:48] on it. Um
[16:50] >> dog cleanup station I was in yesterday
[16:54] and spoke with Mandy and she said that
[16:57] Jennifer order they believe Jennifer
[16:59] ordered it. Um she went back. She wasn't
[17:01] completely sure, but I uh did meet with
[17:05] the three of the three of us and talked
[17:07] about it and it's supposed to ship to
[17:09] Jean and some dog way station, I think.
[17:14] So, I inquired, but I didn't get a hard
[17:17] answer.
[17:18] >> Okay. Okay.
[17:19] >> That Jennifer
[17:21] ordered it.
[17:22] >> It's a followup with Jennifer. Will you?
[17:25] >> Yes. And the next one, how often? I
[17:27] mean, every week now I could give you on
[17:30] what I'm hoping to do is every week on
[17:32] Wednesday. It's just too much for me.
[17:34] Um, maybe once a month.
[17:36] >> Well, that'll miss I mean, if you do it
[17:37] monthly, you push it down.
[17:39] >> Tell me what you want me to do and I'll
[17:40] do it.
[17:42] >> When do you How often do you want to
[17:43] give it to me?
[17:45] >> Well,
[17:46] >> I don't want it daily.
[17:47] >> Weekly is a burden, but I'll live with
[17:49] it.
[17:51] Once this kicks off, I'm well, I mean, I
[17:55] guess I can still go through Gene, but
[17:57] once the challenge starts, I'm trying to
[18:00] do a rolling three-week out and two
[18:03] weeks is the walk with ease clinic and
[18:04] two weeks is the the
[18:05] >> Tell me when you want me to do it.
[18:07] >> It'll be Wednesdays.
[18:08] >> Okay.
[18:08] >> Wednesdays are good.
[18:09] >> Okay. So, you want to do it weekly on
[18:10] Wednesdays
[18:11] >> until this is done. Okay.
[18:13] >> So, I will be waiting for something.
[18:15] Wednesdays is a good day for me.
[18:25] uh new slash30 challenge clinic and
[18:28] participating swag. Is that done or is
[18:30] that
[18:30] >> that's the same thing?
[18:32] >> Get rid of that. Michelle and Jean
[18:34] develop a
[18:37] >> uh not Jean. Uh
[18:39] >> develop
[18:40] >> Susan. Okay. Sorry.
[18:42] >> Wonder where my name was on this whole
[18:43] thing.
[18:43] >> Yeah.
[18:44] >> Develop and distribute scavenger hunt
[18:46] questions and signs for the August 8.
[18:48] Yeah, that's what Yeah, it says seventh.
[18:51] I believe that's on the eighth.
[18:53] >> Okay.
[18:53] >> Not that it's a big deal, but I mean,
[18:54] this is just part of my internal
[18:56] workings. I'm not sure.
[18:57] >> Okay. So, you don't need you don't want
[18:58] it on here.
[18:59] >> It doesn't matter either way.
[19:00] >> Well,
[19:01] >> I have to get it down.
[19:02] >> I assume get rid of it if it's
[19:04] >> got a whole lot of things I got to do
[19:05] for all these events.
[19:06] >> Well, these are things that come up
[19:08] because of the AI. I take notes. I put
[19:11] my notes on. AI comes. I take the AI.
[19:13] So, I just put it there. if you want it
[19:15] off.
[19:15] >> Sarah uh Sarah Susan, sorry, very
[19:19] flustered. Susan sent me a list of
[19:22] questions. So, you could even check that
[19:23] off.
[19:24] >> All right.
[19:26] >> Did you look into it as we discussed?
[19:28] Not yet. I have been very focused. I
[19:30] will tell you what I was doing
[19:31] yesterday. It took place.
[19:33] >> All right. Um you requested ADA parking
[19:36] lot uh at North's Point.
[19:38] >> Whenever we restripe it, it which might
[19:41] be soon.
[19:42] >> Okay. Does it need restriping?
[19:44] >> It's to get it up to code for Oh, you
[19:47] mean the rest of it?
[19:48] >> Yeah, because we just did that. That
[19:50] wasn't that part of what we just re
[19:52] resurfaced two years ago.
[19:54] >> I don't know when it was.
[19:55] >> Well, we resurfaced two years ago. And
[19:57] they have to paint it when they
[19:58] resurface. So,
[19:59] >> it was two years ago, then it was two
[20:00] years ago, but they didn't stripe the
[20:02] ADA space correctly.
[20:06] That's that's the only
[20:07] >> Well, so here's something that we should
[20:09] do then is we should get a cost estimate
[20:12] from um the
[20:15] um I I guess it would be the road
[20:20] commission that would do that because
[20:22] they're doing well I I don't know this
[20:25] for a fact but the road commission is
[20:27] going to restripe
[20:28] >> Langland so they have the capability of
[20:30] doing that but they don't own that
[20:32] parking lot so maybe they they wouldn't
[20:34] be the ones So, I don't know
[20:35] >> how much quality it was.
[20:37] >> Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Those guys had the
[20:38] chip seal. So, maybe they could uh redo
[20:41] it. But, um, one thing that I'm thinking
[20:44] is depending upon the cost, maybe we
[20:47] include this in the ADA upgrade once we
[20:52] get the work stations in.
[20:54] >> That's a good idea.
[20:55] >> Um, but I have budget left for our share
[20:58] of a MCCF
[21:01] U $5,000 grant. So if this comes in at a
[21:05] reasonable cost along with what it would
[21:08] take to make that ADA so you can
[21:09] actually walk over there then we can
[21:11] include it in that. If not then we'll
[21:13] have to do it at some point. So get if
[21:15] you could look into getting a cost
[21:16] estimate that would be great.
[21:20] >> Okay.
[21:23] >> Send a list of donors.
[21:26] >> Oh that that that's go uh I think that
[21:29] yeah
[21:30] >> I can delete just quick. That's makes my
[21:33] life wonderful. All right, continue to
[21:34] develop a testing if you we had got
[21:37] stuck on this cuz I
[21:38] >> Right cuz we're still messing with where
[21:40] things are going to land and if we can
[21:41] take 10 minutes after the meeting, I
[21:43] think I can wrap up. Um I just found
[21:46] another QR code that's now not working.
[21:49] >> Okay,
[21:51] >> these QR codes are
[21:53] >> I'm sorry. Are these QR codes that were
[21:55] from prior to us changing the website?
[21:58] So now we think it's a website upgrade
[22:00] issue or just QR codes not working our
[22:03] new
[22:03] >> I think it's the website when the
[22:05] website changed the stuff is
[22:06] >> so we just need to do new QR codes then
[22:08] >> yes
[22:08] >> and put it on all of the literature that
[22:10] has QR codes
[22:12] >> the yes but the wag garden also has a
[22:15] has it had its own QR code and that's
[22:17] not working
[22:17] >> you have to put an overlay on
[22:20] >> well should we capture that as a note
[22:22] >> yeah that should be a big that's kind of
[22:24] a big project
[22:25] >> okay so this is the well we can just use
[22:27] that last bullet point QR codes. Okay,
[22:30] Jean, when are you going to get that
[22:32] dock station put in?
[22:38] » What are we talking about? What am I
[22:39] supposed to be doing?
[22:41] >> You're supposed to install it. You're
[22:42] supposed to install the dog station, but
[22:44] we haven't we don't haven't figured out
[22:45] whether we got it ordered or not. But Michelle's going to follow up on
[22:48] that. But um
[22:50] >> it has not come to my house.
[22:51] >> No, no. That says your dog must be on
[22:52] leash. I don't think Jean's doing here
[22:55] on the signs can see. Okay. Okay. Good.
[22:59] >> And I uh had about 30 seconds with Dave
[23:02] yesterday because he's the one that
[23:04] asked for those and I got where three of
[23:08] them go. I'm not sure where the fourth
[23:09] goes. We're going to put one on each dog
[23:11] station. So that's three.
[23:14] >> Are are you actually nailing them in
[23:16] doing what you
[23:16] >> No, I would like not to.
[23:18] >> Okay. So, we need someone to do this for
[23:20] us.
[23:20] >> Yes. And I noticed they're not drilled.
[23:23] They're drilled to go up on a wall.
[23:27] And
[23:28] Jane, are you
[23:30] >> I'm I'm thinking that because of the the
[23:33] dog station is mesh that they could be
[23:37] put put right there on the mesh with
[23:40] wire.
[23:41] >> Where did Mariah's helper do that? Where
[23:43] is it?
[23:44] >> Uh I believe one of us could do it.
[23:48] >> Okay.
[23:48] >> But it's flat in the the the trash.
[23:51] >> Let them work that out. Okay. Yeah, you
[23:55] >> let me see if my idea is going to work.
[23:57] I have something that I can do without
[24:00] making it permanent just to see if it it
[24:02] would work and then if it needs to be
[24:05] permanent, we can figure out how to
[24:06] attach it. So, I need the signs back.
[24:10] >> Okay. So, so but at this point what's an
[24:13] open matter is where is the location of
[24:15] the fourth sign
[24:17] >> that is open.
[24:18] >> Correct.
[24:18] >> And who resolves that? I will follow up
[24:22] with Dave.
[24:23] >> So, so Dave had specific locations that
[24:25] he wanted them or did the complainer
[24:27] have specific places they wanted them?
[24:29] >> You know, it's kind of fuzzy. So, I'll
[24:31] follow up with him.
[24:32] >> Okay.
[24:33] >> And
[24:33] >> where is this? North Point Park. Okay.
[24:36] >> But Lang Oh, Langland. That was the
[24:38] other one. Yeah, we did figure it out.
[24:40] All three dog stations plus one at
[24:41] Langland.
[24:42] >> Okay.
[24:43] >> Right. And and we're going to have a dog
[24:45] station at Glen Park. So I would just
[24:47] say unless Dave has something different
[24:50] that we should put it at
[24:51] >> we should save one for Glen Park.
[24:55] >> They got all four.
[24:56] >> Okay. So that and and and that doesn't
[24:58] leave us short at North Point. So we're
[25:00] going to get complaints.
[25:02] >> I already correct.
[25:05] >> Correct.
[25:05] >> All right. So So at this point we have
[25:09] the signs. We know where they're located
[25:11] and Jean is going to make an attempt to
[25:13] get them installed in a professional
[25:15] manner.
[25:16] Okay, great.
[25:19] Um, I don't have any other assignments
[25:22] for Michelle that we've captured and
[25:25] Jean the way station when we get it, you
[25:27] know, that'll come to you. If you can't
[25:28] do it, we'll find someone who can. Jean
[25:31] and Chelsea purchased and arranged
[25:33] delivery of a magnet for nail pickup at
[25:35] Langland. Did that happen?
[25:38] >> It has not. And that's on me. Um, I've
[25:40] sent two options this morning to Jean to
[25:43] review because I, of course, everything
[25:45] needs to be with who's going to use it
[25:47] the most. The two that I researched, um,
[25:50] I went through two websites. It looks
[25:53] good with the first option. We can't use
[25:55] a roller. That won't work in the sand,
[25:57] but an actual 7B lift is more
[26:01] appropriate than, I think, a cheesier
[26:02] version, cheaper version that's 3 12 lb.
[26:06] I sent two items from Amazon this
[26:09] morning to Jean to consider. We can wrap
[26:12] that up soon. Sorry. I
[26:14] >> How much?
[26:15] >> Roughly how much money?
[26:17] >> Uh it was uh $90 for the second the the
[26:20] version that I thought was in better
[26:21] shape. Solid, good metal uh collector
[26:24] handheld. The other one was $50.
[26:27] >> So Jean, would you just uh put that in
[26:30] one of those list kind of things for uh
[26:32] our our Amazon site? Do you know how to
[26:35] do that?
[26:37] Yes, that was a yes. I saw a thumbs up.
[26:39] So, Jean will will uh will get me that
[26:42] and I'll order it on Amazon and Jean,
[26:44] I'll send it to you.
[26:47] Okay. Vic and Jean wrote in inventory.
[26:49] Uh, okay. So, this is just a repeat of
[26:51] what I said because it's both Gan and I.
[26:54] Uh, Jean meeting with Audrey regarding
[26:56] invasive species looking for
[26:58] recommendations on the inventory from
[27:00] last year. Honeysuckle seems to be a
[27:02] priority in North Point Park. Jean,
[27:03] anything new on that?
[27:07] You're on mute?
[27:11] » Okay, Jean. Yeah, there you go.
[27:13] >> I have to find the right button. Um, I
[27:16] sent you Audrey's response.
[27:19] >> Oh, crap. Um, okay. So, um, and and can
[27:25] you tell the group what it is? What I
[27:26] mean, rough roughly what what she's
[27:28] suggesting. This is how we spend our
[27:30] five grand, right?
[27:32] >> Yeah. So, let me um Why don't you go on
[27:34] and can you go on and go back so I can
[27:37] find it?
[27:38] >> All right. All right. So, I'll come back
[27:40] to both of the last remaining items.
[27:42] Okay. Rick and Matt. Um
[27:44] >> can you delete the Michelle and Jean
[27:46] develop distribute scavenger hunts.
[27:49] >> Um
[27:49] >> it's their it's
[27:51] the other one. All right. Um Rick and
[27:54] Matt new trail project to replace the
[27:56] old trail project. Need conceptual
[27:57] drawing cost assessment history. So
[27:59] Rick, I got your updates on the two
[28:02] phases. Um, with our relationship with
[28:05] the health endowment fund, can I get or
[28:09] do we already have drawings of phase
[28:12] one, phase two, so that we can actually
[28:14] put it out there and make it look as
[28:16] professional as the other one did?
[28:18] >> Um, we're waiting on a meeting that
[28:21] Dave's lining up with the road
[28:22] commission.
[28:23] >> Okay.
[28:24] >> And our outside legal group or outside
[28:26] engineers.
[28:28] That's the
[28:29] >> F and V.
[28:30] >> No.
[28:31] >> Okay. So, we have a couple drawings, but
[28:33] they're going to redo the drawing.
[28:35] They're going to do a new drawing for
[28:36] the uh artisian well because that's part
[28:39] of the project,
[28:40] >> but they're waiting to have that
[28:43] conversation first. So, the only drawing
[28:44] I have is the one I included, which is a
[28:47] line art. So, I could wait for one or
[28:49] I've got a couple existing ones.
[28:52] >> Why don't you Why don't you give me what
[28:53] you got?
[28:54] >> Okay, I'll do that. And then I'll I'll
[28:55] note it as under updates as we get more
[28:59] into
[28:59] >> Yeah, we just got to be careful what we
[29:01] pose. If it changes or whatever, but
[29:02] I'll be more than happy to.
[29:03] >> True. Ten of ten of tenative. I'll make
[29:05] sure that we stress that if you address
[29:06] that to me in the way I can. My
[29:09] pleasure. Okay.
[29:11] >> Um there's been a lot of confusion
[29:13] because there are some correspondence
[29:15] out there that there's no more trail
[29:16] anymore. So, we've had to do a lot of
[29:20] community foundation calls. We had a
[29:21] separate meeting with them and I don't
[29:24] >> there's a very there was a very I
[29:25] thought
[29:27] >> say
[29:28] >> the the the the the comments made on the
[29:31] newspaper article I thought were
[29:32] inflammatory.
[29:33] >> Yes. So we've got a lot of calls. So I
[29:36] had my update with the Michigan Health
[29:38] Endowment this week. They're totally
[29:40] supportive of what we're doing. We have
[29:41] a third of the monies left. They're
[29:43] willing to do any type of quote or
[29:45] whatever
[29:46] >> so we can get the engineering done that
[29:47] we need to do within the budget we have
[29:49] already.
[29:49] >> Okay. Yeah. We're trying to get both
[29:51] sections, which is the Portage Point
[29:54] section and the M22 section.
[29:58] >> Uh M22 or MDOT called us with 200,000
[30:01] they had for us. It it was extra money,
[30:04] but we decided to walk away from it
[30:06] because we didn't want to do both
[30:08] sections. We're just going to do the
[30:10] Portage Point to Bay View section first
[30:12] and then come back with the other one.
[30:15] >> Portage Point Road to Bayiew.
[30:16] >> Yeah. And then the second section,
[30:18] Dave's comment is once you get that
[30:19] done, everybody will just push for that
[30:22] next section. So, we'll see.
[30:24] >> So, on timing, I mean, to me, that was
[30:27] our number one landbased request was the
[30:30] trail. Yeah.
[30:31] >> So, as you get updates, I want to keep
[30:34] that one going. Sure. We got we got full
[30:36] support from everybody and we're good
[30:37] shape.
[30:38] >> Okay. Um,
[30:42] so provide updates for the web. That's
[30:44] essentially um the same. I've got that
[30:46] one article I already sent you.
[30:48] >> Um that one posting before Dave Wallace
[30:51] posted the Facebook one,
[30:53] >> right? But that's posted, right?
[30:54] >> Yes. Okay.
[30:54] >> All set. You can cross that off.
[30:56] >> So yeah, that one's done.
[30:58] >> Good.
[31:01] » Yeah. Once fiveyear plan relevant grants
[31:04] to plan. That's something we can do once
[31:06] we figure out what we're going to do. Do
[31:07] >> we know roughly timing wise? I'm not
[31:09] looking for exact date when that all be
[31:11] wrapped up and get this branch stuff
[31:14] work. I'm just curious. Well, and and at
[31:16] that point, we need to fit it into this
[31:18] five-year plan along with, you know,
[31:20] when we our funding schedule and all
[31:23] that kind of stuff.
[31:23] >> Are we three months out, six months out,
[31:26] one week out? Just roughly. I'm just
[31:28] curious
[31:28] >> on
[31:30] >> and one of the things is to get grants
[31:32] for all these projects.
[31:34] >> I'm just wondering,
[31:35] >> no,
[31:36] >> maybe I'm jumping ahead.
[31:37] >> Sorry, are you talking about the final
[31:38] bullet point? What's
[31:39] >> I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Yeah. This is a
[31:42] matter of
[31:44] here's our here are our potential
[31:47] projects.
[31:49] There's all these different grants out
[31:50] there.
[31:51] >> More than happy to do it.
[31:52] >> Which of those would apply to each one
[31:54] of these? So this project here, we might
[31:56] be able to use grant one, grant two, and
[31:58] grant seven. You know, that kind of
[32:00] thing. Just mapping it.
[32:01] >> My question is,
[32:02] >> don't hurry.
[32:02] >> Yeah. My question is when will we have
[32:04] all that put together?
[32:05] >> Well, that gets back question. I mean,
[32:08] to me, uh, to me, we should be focusing
[32:11] on this pretty hard. Um, I mean, I'd
[32:14] like to have, you know, one of those
[32:17] sessions like they do at the forest,
[32:19] like you did with the original trail
[32:20] thing where you come in, here's an easel
[32:23] that's got this one and all that. That
[32:24] way, we sort of met our obligations to
[32:26] the public. And then also on the
[32:28] website, um, you know, to go ahead and
[32:31] >> So, we're a ways out. I don't have
[32:33] >> We're way out. But but I don't want you
[32:35] know what happens is I say that and then
[32:37] nothing ever gets done.
[32:38] >> So I I mean I want to have all of our
[32:41] fiveyear plan projects on the website at
[32:43] the absolute latest by August 31st.
[32:45] Clean and done. How's that?
[32:46] >> I I pretty much will deliver whatever
[32:48] you know that. I'm just looking for a
[32:51] roughly
[32:51] >> I want 8:31 and we are absolutely done.
[32:54] Clean. Perfect. It looks like we're
[32:56] professional.
[32:56] >> Okay. In September then I'll start
[32:58] working on it theoretic. That's all I
[32:59] need. of
[33:02] >> I just think from my planning type
[33:05] perspective if you pick a date if you
[33:07] want to have that open house
[33:09] >> or we get you know pretty close to when
[33:11] you want to have the open house that's
[33:12] the um impending event that'll get
[33:15] everything done. So everybody, we lose
[33:18] our summer people when? August 15th.
[33:21] >> Labor Day. Really? I think.
[33:22] >> Well, but you got kids in other states
[33:25] that had go back to school in August. So
[33:27] August 15th.
[33:28] >> You go round and round and round on that
[33:29] though. I mean,
[33:31] >> as long as you want to have it that we
[33:32] have all the people here.
[33:34] >> You're not going to get all the people
[33:35] here, I think, is really the answer.
[33:37] >> Well, true, but if we schedule it when
[33:39] we know they're gone, we know we're not
[33:41] going to get them. Let's make it their
[33:42] fault that they didn't come. So,
[33:44] >> just FYI, we're going to have a public
[33:46] meeting for the trail project probably
[33:48] in the next 8 weeks. We're waiting for
[33:50] that meeting for Dave to line up. Just
[33:52] FYI.
[33:52] >> Go eight weeks. Right now, we're
[33:54] essentially July 1st. So, by August
[33:56] 31st, you're going to have that meeting.
[33:58] >> Absolutely. As long as we have the
[34:00] meeting with Dave. Yeah.
[34:01] >> Can Can we have this professionally
[34:03] ready in the next 45 days to have an
[34:05] 8:15 public meeting?
[34:08] >> Well, I I'm fine if we can. I mean, you
[34:10] know, we we got we can do do I'm I'm
[34:13] frankly
[34:15] I'm overwhelmed at this point, too. So,
[34:16] I'm not going to push anybody hard
[34:18] because you when you give it to me, I
[34:19] got to put it on the web.
[34:20] >> You know what I mean? Who are you trying
[34:22] to capture? Are you trying to capture
[34:23] the summer visitors or the the year
[34:25] round? Oh, the
[34:26] >> both.
[34:27] >> Well, what I found is we had pretty good
[34:29] attendance at the open house that we did
[34:31] for the organization. Not not just
[34:33] pretty good. We had really good
[34:34] attendance at that and that was in
[34:36] September.
[34:36] >> But those are all local people. Those
[34:38] are local organizations that people who
[34:39] live here.
[34:40] >> Yes. But some of them are snowbirds. The
[34:41] point is we got them before the
[34:42] snowbird. Before the snowbird.
[34:44] >> Oh, okay. So, they're not the summer,
[34:47] they're the snowbirds. So, they're
[34:48] really three groups of people. We have
[34:50] the summer people, we have the
[34:51] snowbirds, and then we have the
[34:52] full-timers.
[34:53] >> Yes.
[34:54] >> Um, all right. So, September.
[34:58] >> Yep. Go ahead.
[34:59] >> Quick question for clarification. Are we
[35:01] talking about two open houses or are we
[35:03] talking about one
[35:05] >> in the next eight weeks? Rick is saying
[35:07] that there will be one put together by
[35:09] Dave and then we're talking about
[35:11] putting together one for
[35:14] the parks and wreck
[35:16] >> fiveyear plan. Um but but but you bring
[35:19] up a very interesting subject. Um
[35:21] >> I attended last night's meeting for the
[35:24] village part of the walks and I'm trying
[35:26] to con I'm trying to get a concept in my
[35:29] head as a parks and recck committee
[35:31] volunteer member. What's really going
[35:33] on? How many meetings are we having? How
[35:35] many people and how much parks and wreck
[35:38] are actually going to be involved? So,
[35:40] are we talking about two meetings, one
[35:42] in eight weeks regarding the trail and
[35:45] one from parks and recck committee open
[35:49] house?
[35:50] >> Okay. So, let me just let me put a finer
[35:53] point on your second one. It is a parks
[35:55] and w fiveyear plan openhouse. That's
[35:59] what I'm talking about.
[36:01] >> And it is two it is two different
[36:03] meetings. But you bring up an
[36:05] interesting question because
[36:08] the trail project was a subcommittee of
[36:12] parks and wreck until December of 2024
[36:15] when it became a joint village and
[36:18] township project and it became a
[36:21] subcommittee of the township board, not
[36:24] parks and wreck. That's been disbanded.
[36:26] Right, Brick?
[36:27] >> Yeah,
[36:28] >> correct.
[36:28] >> Is is the trails project now back as a
[36:31] parks and wreck township project? Yes.
[36:34] Okay. Same thing is on the plan that
[36:36] we've been talking about. Yeah. No
[36:38] change just like the communication I
[36:41] sent you that hopefully everybody saw on
[36:43] the website that updates the plan and
[36:46] then there was a Facebook posting too
[36:48] for anybody else.
[36:49] >> So let's talk about the necessity of an
[36:53] open um house for the five-year plan. I
[36:57] only reason I suggested we do that is,
[37:00] you know, I've heard that, you know, the DNR likes it the more that you can
[37:06] prove that you've had public input, but
[37:08] the reality is if you go out to our
[37:10] website and you take a look at
[37:14] we've done a pretty good job.
[37:16] >> Yeah. And and I'm I'm saying as far as
[37:19] our website is concerned,
[37:23] that's good.
[37:34] Every one of those um
[37:39] every one of those projects
[37:42] has a survey associated with it and each
[37:47] of the surveys um
[37:50] your thoughts
[37:52] >> interesting
[37:52] >> is very very similar. So, we're getting
[37:54] public input on all of those and the
[37:57] surveys are as close to identical as
[38:00] they can be other than the specific
[38:02] subject matter. So, we're meeting the
[38:04] requirement of public input. It's open
[38:07] for discussion. Should we have a open
[38:10] house?
[38:10] >> Yes. I think you should that's really
[38:12] varied like that. It's like you were
[38:15] just doing that and I was on the
[38:16] website. I'm like I didn't even know
[38:17] that was on there. I know it's an
[38:19] outsider just saying
[38:20] >> the thing the thing to the thing you can
[38:23] also look at is what's the timing of
[38:25] these projects.
[38:27] >> For example, if there's a project that's
[38:28] going to happen in four years
[38:32] you want to talk about that now or would
[38:33] you all talk about spring well or
[38:35] whatever whatever anybody wants. But
[38:36] that's another
[38:37] >> that's another you just said spring that
[38:39] might actually be better. We might
[38:41] actually plan for spring as opposed to
[38:43] trying to rush it this fall.
[38:46] >> I'm okay with that. I don't think we
[38:47] should wait to get them up on the
[38:49] website. I think we jam
[38:51] >> everything web and everything else. But
[38:53] I'm saying as far as open community
[38:55] because we don't want to jam. There's a
[38:57] lot going on here. All this great stuff
[38:58] that
[38:59] >> I'm perfect with that. So we do it in
[39:01] spring of next year and maybe when we
[39:03] say spring
[39:05] >> I I
[39:06] >> before the end of the school year for
[39:07] sure.
[39:07] >> I think we have time. Just say spring
[39:09] we'll get it.
[39:10] >> Yeah. I I'd like again I'd like to get
[39:11] all three of our constituents here and I
[39:13] think our our summers get here
[39:16] >> be after Memorial Day.
[39:17] >> Yeah. Yeah. Okay.
[39:18] >> The first week in June or something.
[39:20] >> All right. So, uh open house is uh after
[39:24] Labor Day. Memorial Day
[39:34] 2027.
[39:36] Okay. Um,
[39:40] Chelsea ordered the magnet. Where did we
[39:42] leave off? Uh, recreation plan 5 years.
[39:49] Uh, Chelsea, I So, we're we're done with
[39:51] that one. Amber, send fitness photos.
[39:53] What's that about? I remember I think we
[39:55] mentioned a lot. I was asking for photos
[39:57] for the website.
[39:58] >> Yep.
[39:58] >> Okay. So, what's up with that?
[40:00] >> I sent them to the clerk. So, I don't
[40:02] know. I never got a response on
[40:04] anything. It's a great idea that
[40:07] anything that has to do with parks and
[40:08] recck go to me or to our official email
[40:12] address which then comes to me or at
[40:15] least CC me.
[40:16] >> Okay.
[40:17] >> Um just to make sure that things don't
[40:19] fall through the cracks because they've
[40:21] got a lot of things going on there. So,
[40:23] >> and I have pictures for you too from the
[40:24] field trip or did I send them to you?
[40:26] >> Oh, I don't think you did. But like I
[40:29] said, I get a lot of in
[40:30] >> I'll put that on my to-do list is to
[40:32] share photos. I'll get pictures of all
[40:34] the this these events in step two that
[40:37] I'm attending and I'll send them to you.
[40:39] >> And and then um what about this whole
[40:42] issue of the faces of people and kids
[40:44] and such are we can
[40:45] >> please ask everybody. Okay.
[40:47] >> Usually like I'll say, "Hey, we're
[40:48] getting a group picture. It'll go on the
[40:50] website at the end." Or if I'm taking
[40:53] them and there's a group, I'll always
[40:54] say, "Hey, are you okay with this going
[40:56] on the website?" I always always ask.
[40:59] >> All right. We we'll see.
[41:00] >> Yes. Yeah. We have actual paperwork from
[41:02] the school district.
[41:04] >> I mean, I don't get it, but they have
[41:05] it. So, they'll point out which kids.
[41:09] >> Okay.
[41:10] >> Everybody signs a blanket waiver in the
[41:11] very beginning. So, I think they get
[41:13] like three or four kids that can't. And
[41:15] so, the school knows those can't be they
[41:17] can't be in ours.
[41:18] >> Well, just so um everybody knows,
[41:20] >> those kids like to be photoed.
[41:24] We usually have to take two because one
[41:28] >> we'll send to that family and then
[41:30] >> a second one.
[41:31] >> So ideas um you know this is this is
[41:34] what our website has become based on
[41:36] input with you know and these pictures
[41:38] can all be changed and such. Um but uh
[41:42] we also have this activities page and so
[41:45] the question would be um where would we
[41:48] want to put these? Um it's it's it's you
[41:52] know it's nuts and bolts kind of stuff.
[41:54] I mean the pictures are great. We need
[41:55] to get them but we need to put them
[41:57] someplace where they're actually going
[41:58] to go to. So along with the pictures um
[42:00] we probably ought to have some some sit
[42:02] down discussion with you know those that
[42:04] are providing the pictures. Where do you
[42:05] think it's the best place to put it? The
[42:06] whole goal in my mind is to get people
[42:09] to keep coming back to this.
[42:10] >> And to the question of things really
[42:12] buried. um you know the the fact is that
[42:15] if you don't have if you have more than
[42:18] anything a few things on any page they
[42:20] walk away. So that limits you to what
[42:22] you can put on a page and we essentially
[42:24] decided it's going to be activities get
[42:26] involved in the rec map and then here's
[42:29] all the parks and then everything else
[42:31] has to fall somewhere below that. It's
[42:33] over here or it's under here. Um but if
[42:37] we decide that we want to put something
[42:38] else on the first page I'm okay with
[42:40] that. But just with each addition it
[42:42] becomes more cluttered. So just
[42:44] >> Aren't the photos going there in the top
[42:46] right corner?
[42:47] >> Yeah, I can put I can put the photos
[42:49] right there.
[42:50] >> Put them on the slides or just update
[42:52] them.
[42:52] >> It's a good idea. So one thing that I
[42:54] have noticed is that you that it is
[42:57] optimized for portrait. So please try to
[42:59] take your pictures in portrait. Okay.
[43:04] >> With people in it would be nice. But the
[43:06] other thing is is that um
[43:12] Oh, they just lost.
[43:14] >> That's fine. That's fine. Um, so Brian,
[43:17] we've already talked about the board.
[43:18] >> Oh, I know what I was going to say.
[43:20] >> Good.
[43:20] >> And you already know this, but I'm going
[43:22] to say it again.
[43:24] Using this on your phone is really a
[43:27] challenge. The
[43:28] >> courage, serenity, and wisdom.
[43:30] >> Okay.
[43:31] New new new uh weren't you? Aren't they
[43:34] >> God grant me the courage to change the
[43:36] things I can? The
[43:37] >> I got you. Thank you. We we have a new
[43:40] web app. That's the way it is. It's not
[43:42] optimized. We just changed. Um
[43:45] >> Well, as a as a a citizen here, I should
[43:48] write a letter to the clerk saying,
[43:50] >> "Go ahead.
[43:51] >> Take your time. You got plenty of time.
[43:53] >> Just just say that our website does not
[43:56] look mean
[43:57] >> it it needs to be optimized. Is it just
[43:58] a switch that needs to be flipped from
[44:00] the provers end?"
[44:02] >> Um I would suggest that you talk to AI.
[44:05] I mean I I'm I'm not an expert on on the
[44:09] design of
[44:10] >> you have a framework a framework good
[44:12] bad or different so instead of spending
[44:14] a lot of time think we should pick our
[44:16] spots
[44:18] >> we have to make sure that given the tool
[44:22] that the that the uh township has
[44:24] provided this tool I've got left I've
[44:27] got center I've got right
[44:30] >> and and when you have a lot of stuff and
[44:32] it goes on a little thing all of it
[44:34] scrolls pulls down down down down which
[44:36] is why it's hard to find it. So if we
[44:39] have things that we just absolutely have
[44:41] to see it needs to be right here on the
[44:43] very tip top
[44:44] >> but that's even getting to that point
[44:46] when I was I'm trying to walk people
[44:48] through a registering challenge on their
[44:50] phones and if you go to your phone like
[44:52] try to try to find parks even from there
[44:54] because departments isn't showing up. So
[44:58] when you go to Onakma Township on your
[45:01] phone, we can't. So we can take this
[45:04] offline if you want.
[45:06] >> Well, but we've been talking about it
[45:08] for a year. I mean, I I I don't know
[45:09] what to do.
[45:11] >> They they chose, but what I'm saying is
[45:14] for some reason when you're on the
[45:15] laptop,
[45:17] >> desktop, laptop, whatever, one of the
[45:18] dots here is departments. When you go on
[45:21] your phone, departments isn't there.
[45:23] It's agendas, ordinances, planning,
[45:25] voter payment, and forms. Like, I don't
[45:28] even know where to find
[45:29] >> to the very bottom
[45:32] » all the way down to the bottom.
[45:34] >> Parks and wreck is at the bottom.
[45:39] » Do you know I mean like at least six
[45:41] people have been sitting there with them
[45:42] while they're registering. Nobody got
[45:43] that far down. I don't know how to
[45:45] change it. So, so when you get there, I
[45:47] mean, only I can tell you just scroll to
[45:50] the very bottom and then what the big pictures come up and we're the first
[45:54] of the big pictures and once you get
[45:56] there, that's that's how you get to
[45:57] parks and ride.
[45:58] >> It takes me educating people. I thank
[46:00] you for educating me.
[46:03] >> Yeah, I like I said, courage, any
[46:06] wisdom. I I can only do what I can do.
[46:09] Why put it I mean getting to
[46:11] >> you can't change what I am seeing,
[46:13] right? So, I just need to know and when
[46:15] I'm I'll be a little voice out there
[46:17] telling people scroll scroll
[46:19] >> this golf you Matt uh and Brian you've
[46:22] picked the place uh I mean there's a
[46:24] bunch of stuff under Matt that we didn't
[46:26] go over today because he's not here but
[46:29] you know
[46:29] >> Matt Matt has a contact with a
[46:32] professional group I can't recall what
[46:34] they were but in Traverse City I think
[46:38] >> Northwest
[46:40] >> yeah that's that's the guy that we've
[46:43] been trying to get in touch with since
[46:45] November of last year when we first
[46:47] started talking about that. Holy say I'm
[46:50] almost done because I don't have a
[46:51] parent.
[46:52] >> Okay, here you
[46:53] >> No, no, no, I'm good. Um,
[46:57] and then all committees have approached.
[46:59] Okay. Boom. 9/11. We're through the
[47:02] first item on the agenda. Uh, report of
[47:06] committees, village township ethics,
[47:09] urban and hollow. Go for it. And it's
[47:11] also at the same time events.
[47:15] >> Well, we already have updated you that
[47:17] uh we have the questions. And as far as
[47:19] events, um so if you guys wouldn't mind
[47:23] taking a look and I don't have
[47:24] everything quite yet and I thought you
[47:26] would bring your mug.
[47:27] >> Oh,
[47:28] >> this is one of them, but it's just a
[47:29] different one.
[47:30] >> So, it has been a tremendous effort and
[47:33] push and working with a lot of people to
[47:35] pull off the ONCA 30-day challenge. And
[47:39] this year we added the clinics which let
[47:42] a whole another level of um in it's
[47:45] bringing a lot more interest but it's uh
[47:47] >> complex
[47:48] >> very complex but we have it all laid out
[47:50] here on the flyers and what I'm asking
[47:53] is if everybody here would register
[47:57] because it gives me feedback and it also
[48:00] boosts our numbers and if we can get
[48:03] this rolling one of the things I've
[48:05] gotten feedback directly to me on is Oh,
[48:08] well, why don't we do like a triathlon
[48:10] or a one-day big event? Well, I have to
[48:13] be able to learn how to coordinate this
[48:15] type of thing before we can get to the
[48:17] level of doing a run, bike, dune climb
[48:21] kind of a thing, which they do up the
[48:22] road in in M20, the M22 challenge in
[48:25] Glen Lake and they get thousands of
[48:27] people. Now, I'm not saying you would
[48:28] want to get thousands of people, but if
[48:30] the local people that I'm talking to
[48:32] like, when are you going to do a
[48:33] triathlon? How about if we start with
[48:35] this and we get enough interest in this.
[48:37] So when you sign up and you talk to
[48:39] other people uh you know and I know some
[48:42] people are at their bandwidth uh that's
[48:44] fine. Um but every person who registers
[48:48] gives me a little bit of feedback too.
[48:49] So I'm tweaking the flyers constantly.
[48:51] I'm constantly tweaking the questions to
[48:53] register. Just had another one last
[48:55] night. I got to move things around
[48:57] again. So anyway, and the uh so we have
[49:01] about $3,500 worth of sponsorships to
[49:04] pay for these little gimmies. And you
[49:06] can take a look afterward. We don't have
[49:08] the cycling one in yet. And I forgot the
[49:09] towel here. And there's also a water
[49:11] bottle generously donated by Susan's
[49:14] daughter. Those we have 40 of those when
[49:17] they're they'll be given out at the
[49:18] clinics.
[49:19] >> Is there any specific method you like us
[49:21] to sign up for? I see a QR code. There's
[49:24] >> all the QR codes point you to the same
[49:25] place.
[49:26] >> Okay. It doesn't matter what
[49:27] >> it doesn't matter. You can and all Yes.
[49:30] They all go to the same place and when
[49:32] you um register you'll see that you can
[49:35] literally opt in or opt out of
[49:37] everything. Somebody could register and
[49:39] do nothing. Um but the the point is so
[49:43] once so what is the actual challenge
[49:45] that once you register on June the 6th I
[49:50] think I have a sheet that is going to be
[49:52] emailed to everybody to print off or I
[49:55] can provide it some hard copies where it
[49:58] has each day and it says strength and
[50:00] wellness land water wheels and you'll
[50:02] track it on your refrigerator. Last year
[50:05] the last couple years we've been trying
[50:06] email email me once a week. Yeah, that
[50:08] didn't work. So instead, I'm making it
[50:11] super easy. I'm going to give you a
[50:12] sheet. You handw write it and at the end
[50:15] either you email me that sheet or you
[50:18] come to the parks tent uh in uh on the
[50:23] 8th and the first 60 people who do that
[50:26] Oh my gosh. Do you have a picture of it?
[50:28] >> Can you put it up if I email it to you
[50:29] if I can find it real quick?
[50:31] >> Um
[50:34] yes, I got that. Jean, we did figure
[50:36] that out. Um, let me see if I can find
[50:39] it real quick because it's beautiful.
[50:42] And in addition to that, we have a whole
[50:44] lot of other fun things. And uh, since I
[50:46] don't have my computer, I was planning
[50:48] on printing all the events that are
[50:49] upcoming. Um, and I didn't
[50:53] >> I have the butterfly one in my car.
[50:55] Maybe if you want to just set it here
[50:57] for people to look at.
[50:58] >> I I guess I want to make a comment. I I
[51:01] think that signing up to get your
[51:03] feedback is great, but I don't want
[51:05] people to sign up to inflate numbers. I
[51:07] want the numbers to be the numbers, the
[51:08] real numbers.
[51:09] >> I can delete anybody, too. If you want
[51:11] to sign up and then not do it, just let
[51:13] me know.
[51:13] >> Well, but the point is is is is anyone
[51:16] who wants to sign up should sign up if
[51:17] they're going to participate or if
[51:18] they're going to provide feedback. But I
[51:20] don't want to be I don't want us to be
[51:22] building numbers. I want to be real.
[51:25] >> I agree.
[51:28] I I don't know how to get it on. So
[51:31] that's what the owl looks like.
[51:32] >> Oh, beautiful. So what else do we have?
[51:36] >> Jean has a the biob blitz is coming up
[51:40] real soon. Jean, is that Friday?
[51:42] >> It's tomorrow. Yes.
[51:44] >> Oh, it's tomorrow. Friday.
[51:48] >> What is going? Uh, well, I think that
[51:50] the conservation district is going to be
[51:53] running a biob blitz out at North Point
[51:55] Park where they
[51:57] >> knife. It's beautiful. Oh, you see it?
[52:00] >> Uh, yeah, that's great. Is it the same
[52:03] thing as your one?
[52:04] >> It goes back to the nice towel. The one
[52:06] that's up here, the one that they hung
[52:08] up as artwork. Yeah, it's that same
[52:10] fabric. At least it's supposed to be. I
[52:11] don't have it in my hands yet.
[52:13] >> Okay. What else?
[52:15] >> What is the biob blitz? The biob bliss
[52:17] is where you go out to the North Point
[52:19] Park or what it's always in North Point
[52:21] Park and you have your phone and there's
[52:22] an app on your phone and you go around
[52:24] and you ID things and then year over
[52:26] year it's called citizen science year
[52:28] overyear they compare what people saw
[52:32] and it helps um people who do research
[52:35] and even us to just kind of look back
[52:37] and see are we losing a certain species
[52:40] are we gaining a certain species and
[52:42] that includes both native and non-native
[52:43] plants they ID everything and Um many
[52:47] years we there's a gentleman who comes
[52:49] out who's amazing. Do you do you know
[52:52] his name? He takes pictures of spiders
[52:54] and little tiny creatures.
[52:56] >> Oh friend of a friend.
[52:58] >> It's a friend of yours.
[52:59] >> I can't remember his name. Yeah, but I'm
[53:01] going to contact her to see if he's
[53:03] coming.
[53:04] >> He's he gets amazing pictures.
[53:06] >> What time is this?
[53:08] >> 10:00
[53:10] um it starts. But I I think I'm going to
[53:12] be there earlier because the birds are
[53:15] asleep.
[53:17] >> So,
[53:21] » okay.
[53:23] >> All right. Uh, anything else? Um, I have
[53:26] something I'd like to bring up and it's
[53:28] been brought up to me by the village and
[53:31] um, Fle Vandenberg has um, a flyer and I
[53:35] didn't bring it, but um, there's we're
[53:37] talking about developing uh, the far
[53:40] center park a little bit more. um garden
[53:44] club is working on getting uh ADA
[53:46] accessible um sidewalks around the
[53:50] building and then the park which is over
[53:53] by the side there um by the parking lot.
[53:56] We talked about making it uh
[54:00] just a different type of park, a quieter
[54:02] park, not like a bunch of equipment or
[54:04] anything, but maybe look at uh putting
[54:07] out a uh dock where people could go out
[54:10] there
[54:11] >> and fish. And they wondered if the
[54:14] township would like to, you know,
[54:17] collaborate with us if we could get a
[54:20] group of people to Mary Joe right and I
[54:23] write the grants.
[54:25] >> But, you know, do you who how do you go?
[54:29] Do you have to present?
[54:30] >> The way you do that is you bring it to
[54:32] us and you ask that we present it at the
[54:34] board meeting. present board meeting and
[54:36] I ask you to come to the board meeting
[54:38] and um if they have questions I mean you give me a pitch
[54:42] >> uh and I beg you to be there so that as
[54:45] soon as they ask the first question I
[54:46] say Susan and you answer the question.
[54:48] >> Yeah.
[54:49] >> So yeah I'm happy to bring that up.
[54:51] >> And I meant to mention if you go back to
[54:53] the 2012 Beckett and Raider I believe
[54:55] it's in that one there was a project
[54:58] that was drawn up in
[55:00] >> um 2012
[55:01] >> I think it's the 2012 Beck and Raider
[55:03] study. I if you remind me I can pull it
[55:05] out. Yeah.
[55:06] >> All the drawings are available at the
[55:07] FAR Center.
[55:08] >> Oh,
[55:09] >> in the back.
[55:10] >> The ones that I'm talking about.
[55:11] >> What's her name? Who's at the FAR
[55:12] Center? The clerk there?
[55:14] >> Uh Ruth.
[55:15] >> Ruth. Yeah, Ruth brought them out a
[55:17] couple years ago for us to look at.
[55:18] They're in the back in the bolt or
[55:20] whatever.
[55:21] >> Yeah, she's in Alaska right now. But you
[55:24] know, I I was thinking we would
[55:25] >> Well, I can find the Becket Ranch. You
[55:27] have the Becket.
[55:28] >> Is it online? Do you do you have it on
[55:30] our
[55:31] >> I don't
[55:33] probably I probably have it in in the
[55:35] one drive in the
[55:37] >> 365. I don't remember off the top of my
[55:39] head, but that would be the kind of
[55:40] document that I would save up there.
[55:42] >> That was a beautiful project.
[55:45] >> They're all poster boards back there.
[55:46] They're there.
[55:47] >> Oh, you have them on poster boards?
[55:48] >> Yeah.
[55:49] >> Oh, we do? Okay. Yeah. Runs will be
[55:51] back. She's enjoying Alaska right now.
[55:54] I'll get with her and
[55:57] start
[55:59] planning to present.
[56:00] >> Well, yeah. I mean, that would be if
[56:02] that if that was done, that would be a
[56:03] great that that way you you know, the
[56:05] original part of it, all your your your
[56:08] scope, your drawings and all that are
[56:10] done.
[56:10] >> Yeah.
[56:11] >> You know, just getting that stuff done
[56:12] costs money. So,
[56:13] >> Oh, for sure. For sure.
[56:14] >> Okay. So, yeah, h happy to bring that up
[56:17] and
[56:18] >> I think that would be a great project.
[56:21] Um,
[56:23] other township things. Okay. So, the
[56:26] board approved our five-year goals and
[56:28] objectives.
[56:29] Um, the recreation inventory, the board
[56:33] uh said they do not need to approve it,
[56:35] just get it submitted.
[56:37] Um,
[56:39] Nat reiterated that the trails project
[56:42] had officially ended, you know, the
[56:44] joint project. Uh, and then we sent a
[56:47] notice to that effect to our 250
[56:50] describe uh subscribers.
[56:52] Um and then um let them know that the disc golf site had been identified
[57:00] and will be a part of those items
[57:02] considered for the 5-year plan and let
[57:05] them know that um we had donated the old
[57:09] MOI mats to Arcadia who had already
[57:11] picked them up. Um as far as specific
[57:14] parks are concerned and Jean, wherever I
[57:17] make a mistake, correct me. Okay. Gazebo
[57:19] is painted. Um,
[57:22] >> wait, it's almost done. Grant's supposed
[57:24] to go today, but the weather is again
[57:27] really bad. So, the only thing that's
[57:29] left is the se the underneath the
[57:31] ceiling of the um to be painted where
[57:34] some more graffiti is, but everything
[57:36] else is done. And it look I was there
[57:38] yesterday. It looks really good.
[57:40] >> Yeah, I saw it, too. I It's I mean, the
[57:43] wood's pretty beat up. I was impressed
[57:44] that they dug all the sand around the
[57:47] outside of that. I mean, they did more
[57:48] than I thought they were going to do.
[57:50] So, uh, we still have the issue that we
[57:52] have with, uh, with, um, the sand and
[57:56] such. And that reminds me, I need to do
[57:58] something else, which is,
[57:59] >> and so, if people go there, Jean pointed
[58:01] out an interesting thing to me, and that
[58:03] is that there is some graffiti that will
[58:05] be left behind, intentionally.
[58:09] >> Okay. So, Jean, Michelle's mentioning
[58:12] graffiti intentionally left behind.
[58:16] There's one that's carved from a wedding
[58:18] that supposedly they got permission to
[58:20] have there. I don't know if Grant's
[58:22] going to remove it or not. Um it's
[58:24] pretty in intense in there, but it's a
[58:27] >> that's our decision to make.
[58:31] >> Who are we getting permission to deface
[58:33] our property because they're getting
[58:34] married there?
[58:35] >> We got another wedding coming up in
[58:37] November.
[58:37] >> Get rid of it.
[58:39] No, get rid of it, Jean.
[58:41] >> All right, I will.
[58:43] Okay, I will tell Grant. I didn't tell
[58:44] him to leave it. I I just It's It's a
[58:47] pretty intense thing. So, I will make
[58:50] sure that he um takes care of it.
[58:54] >> They disagree with me that we we
[58:55] shouldn't be allowing graffiti.
[58:57] >> Oh, it's crazy.
[58:58] >> Aren't you happy? Exactly.
[59:00] >> Open window or broken windows. Okay. Uh
[59:04] >> you can't sand it down. Just fill it
[59:05] with wood putty. Yeah.
[59:07] >> Yeah.
[59:09] What? Uh have they been doing that? Have
[59:11] they been puttying it or are they just
[59:12] painting it?
[59:16] Well, they're doing whatever I can't
[59:17] answer that question proposal.
[59:19] >> Yeah. Okay, that's fine. Um,
[59:23] >> ADA walkway will be installed Tuesday of
[59:27] next week. So, we're going to have the
[59:29] complete section by Fourth of July. So,
[59:32] uh, I'm excited by that. What percentage
[59:34] is that at? Is that another 20% or
[59:36] >> Oh, no. God, that's huge, right?
[59:38] >> That's another I'd say 60. another 60%.
[59:43] Right now we go from the south to the
[59:46] bottom and 20 feet this way. Now we go
[59:48] from the north all the way to the bottom
[59:50] and
[59:52] I think it's 300 300 ft across.
[59:54] >> I'll just say from the water, the
[59:56] current one is very impressive.
[59:58] >> Oh yeah.
[59:58] >> It's going to take the next level. And I
[1:00:00] specifically when I go out to Lake
[1:00:02] Michigan, I stopped and there were
[1:00:03] people on the bench cleaning their
[1:00:05] showies or whatever. I think it's one of
[1:00:06] the there's many things we do great, but
[1:00:09] that's a great great thing.
[1:00:11] >> I will walk out the pier and look back
[1:00:13] at it and just looks nice. It does. Just
[1:00:16] looks nice. So, that's that's that's a
[1:00:18] great project and and of course we're
[1:00:20] getting accolades for it. So,
[1:00:22] >> um the light and webcam again, um I need
[1:00:26] to get on that. Um I'm haven't heard
[1:00:29] back from, but I think this is one of
[1:00:30] those things that's going to require
[1:00:31] followup. Uh power washing is ongoing.
[1:00:34] Northern Disposal is our service
[1:00:37] provider and I noticed that they have
[1:00:40] removed the uh
[1:00:43] >> the Republic but but uh
[1:00:47] >> removed the the dumpster is still there.
[1:00:50] I was there last night.
[1:00:52] >> I was
[1:00:54] >> Yeah, that it got moved because of the
[1:00:56] chip and seal of the parking lot. So,
[1:00:58] they moved it. Um but it's still there
[1:01:01] and quite full. Um, I've been reassured
[1:01:05] that it's being taken care of.
[1:01:11] » That that that it is still there. I was
[1:01:14] there a couple nights ago. It's also
[1:01:16] being used extensively.
[1:01:18] >> Yeah, it's it's still there.
[1:01:20] >> So, Jean Jean, when was your last
[1:01:22] conversation?
[1:01:24] >> Uh, I have an email that I'll forward to
[1:01:25] you.
[1:01:27] >> Okay.
[1:01:31] I'll follow up.
[1:01:34] Uh fitness stations were supposed to be
[1:01:36] installed next week. I'm awaiting a
[1:01:38] status update. Um if I can get that
[1:01:40] update, I'm going to ask that gentleman
[1:01:43] that's a neighbor of yours if he could
[1:01:45] be there to um
[1:01:48] put it in the order that he thinks
[1:01:50] appropriate. Um but you know, I know he
[1:01:53] works and I also know I can't get an
[1:01:55] answer from them.
[1:01:55] >> He's off for the summer.
[1:01:56] >> He's what?
[1:01:57] >> He's off for the summer. Oh, that's
[1:01:58] good. School district. Will you will you
[1:02:00] be seeing him?
[1:02:01] >> I can see him today.
[1:02:03] >> Um let him know that we're the the plan
[1:02:05] is for next week, but again, we've had
[1:02:07] all these vendors that do outside work
[1:02:09] have been pushed back because of the
[1:02:10] last few weeks of weather. So, I'm
[1:02:12] hoping it's going to be the tail end of
[1:02:13] this week. Our our lawnmower guy is
[1:02:16] supposed to have that mowed by uh this
[1:02:19] week. Um and and then um
[1:02:25] so if you would talk to him about that.
[1:02:26] >> Being a lawnmower guy.
[1:02:28] >> Yeah. So, I need to talk about that.
[1:02:31] Where in all of parks and wreck do we
[1:02:34] have volunteers doing work that should
[1:02:37] be done by us so that I can plan for it
[1:02:39] in the budget? Because I this is a
[1:02:41] surprise to me that I didn't budget for
[1:02:43] it. And so, now I got to go to them and
[1:02:44] say, "We got to add this to it." So, I'm
[1:02:46] happy to do that. But the guy who does
[1:02:48] our lawns is now saying, "I've got no
[1:02:50] more bandwidth." I had to fight with him
[1:02:52] to clean out to start mowing where we're
[1:02:54] going to put the fitness bar. And so now
[1:02:56] when I tell him there's something else
[1:02:58] to do, it's gonna go, I can't do that.
[1:02:59] So specifically, what needs to be mowed
[1:03:02] that used to be mowed by volunteers.
[1:03:05] >> Well, he still will mow it, but he's not
[1:03:07] reliable because they travel travel
[1:03:09] internationally. So he mowing
[1:03:12] a month later the entire rustic.
[1:03:15] >> So So go ahead.
[1:03:17] >> The entire rustic pathway.
[1:03:19] >> So
[1:03:19] >> and all around the entrance, both
[1:03:21] entrance ways.
[1:03:22] >> I thought the entrance ways were paid by
[1:03:24] the current guy. He tells me he's mowing
[1:03:27] the entrance.
[1:03:28] >> The back entrance.
[1:03:30] >> The Bay View entrance.
[1:03:33] >> The rustic pathway.
[1:03:34] >> Rustic pathway.
[1:03:36] >> The pathway that goes to um I'll think
[1:03:38] of it. The one next to my house starts
[1:03:40] with B. There's a a there's another
[1:03:43] entrance point that most people don't
[1:03:44] know about to North Point Park next to
[1:03:46] my house and Batesmore.
[1:03:48] >> Batesmore.
[1:03:50] >> Facemore.
[1:03:51] >> Bait bait.
[1:03:54] >> Batesmore.
[1:03:55] >> Okay, I know where Bates
[1:03:56] >> Batesmore.
[1:03:57] Um,
[1:03:59] and then
[1:04:02] he mows around the picnic tables, I
[1:04:04] believe. I mean, it's quite it's quite a
[1:04:06] big chore and he doesn't mind doing it,
[1:04:08] but I don't think we should rely on him.
[1:04:11] >> Well, I mean, that becomes the question.
[1:04:12] I don't think we should on any volunteer
[1:04:15] who can raise their hand say I'm going
[1:04:16] on a trip. I mean, then we look like
[1:04:18] fools,
[1:04:18] >> right? Exactly. The rustic the rustic
[1:04:20] trail is is two weeks in. If it goes
[1:04:22] another two weeks, you won't know that.
[1:04:24] >> Well, we're not going to get our guy to
[1:04:26] do it in two weeks.
[1:04:27] >> That could do it, but it's raining.
[1:04:29] >> Well, but that's that applies to our
[1:04:31] guy, too,
[1:04:31] >> right? And then um he mows to keep the
[1:04:35] plants back from popping up in the
[1:04:37] asphalt. He I think he goes like I don't
[1:04:39] know there's some 3 ft. Okay.
[1:04:42] >> Every
[1:04:43] >> write specifications for me. What what's
[1:04:46] currently being done? Just when I I got
[1:04:48] bad, you know, but just write something
[1:04:50] up for me. I'm going to give it to this
[1:04:52] guy. I'm gonna listen to him whine and
[1:04:54] then I tell him you got to do it or it's
[1:04:55] part of the contract. I'll do something
[1:04:57] to force him to do it. But just tell me
[1:04:59] what it is so that I can walk in there
[1:05:00] and show him what he's got to do.
[1:05:02] >> Do you know who's currently doing it?
[1:05:04] >> Yeah.
[1:05:06] >> Oh, you know who's currently doing? His
[1:05:07] name is Dave. He lives on Bay View. He's
[1:05:10] the
[1:05:11] second house on the right hand side.
[1:05:13] >> Are you saying current volunteer or
[1:05:14] current vendor?
[1:05:15] >> I was wondering who the vendor was.
[1:05:17] >> His name is Mark. I've got his phone
[1:05:18] number, but he's the guy that got this
[1:05:21] contract last year away from Anony's.
[1:05:25] >> Because he's like pennies on the dollar
[1:05:27] to what
[1:05:28] >> That's great. Yeah.
[1:05:29] >> Well, it is. It's just that now he's got
[1:05:32] everybody doing it or using him and he
[1:05:33] can't,
[1:05:34] >> you know, there's Matt Pro Matt I can't
[1:05:37] see his last name. Um the son-in-law of
[1:05:42] Brett ms a lot of lawns out there. I
[1:05:46] might be able to ask them.
[1:05:48] >> Well, but that's that's establishing a
[1:05:50] contract for the township. I mean, we
[1:05:52] don't have the authority to do that. I
[1:05:53] have to get her to do that. So, right
[1:05:55] now, we have a vendor. I've got to see
[1:05:57] if our vendor can do this. If he can't,
[1:05:59] then I got to go back to the board and
[1:06:00] say, "We need to find a get a new
[1:06:02] vendor." I mean, it's not just make a
[1:06:04] phone call.
[1:06:05] >> Sure.
[1:06:05] >> All right. So, if you would tell me
[1:06:06] specifically, and I have it written
[1:06:08] down, but I'd like a little bit more
[1:06:10] meat on the bones, and then I'll just
[1:06:11] give it to our vendor and say this way.
[1:06:13] If I can print out the map again from my
[1:06:15] phone, then I can highlight.
[1:06:16] >> It doesn't have to happen right now, but
[1:06:18] like
[1:06:18] >> yeah,
[1:06:19] >> you know, today when you get back to the
[1:06:20] house, there'll be something.
[1:06:23] >> Um,
[1:06:26] okay. So, we left off at um this golf
[1:06:30] and hopefully we're going to get that
[1:06:32] whole networks northeast thing to give
[1:06:34] us some specifics that would be included
[1:06:36] in the 5-year plan. Um, ADA upgrade in
[1:06:40] case anybody doesn't know. As soon as we
[1:06:42] get this stuff in, then I'm going to
[1:06:44] write a grant to make it ADA accessible
[1:06:46] and potentially include um the parking
[1:06:49] lot if it falls within the amount of
[1:06:51] money we have and $5,000. Uh which would
[1:06:54] be the grant that I would ask for.
[1:06:56] >> Can you tell me that what that's for
[1:06:57] again, please?
[1:06:59] >> Right now, we're putting in fitness a
[1:07:00] fitness park.
[1:07:01] >> Okay. ADA. I got you.
[1:07:02] >> Maybe get ADA.
[1:07:05] Um, I have budget left within what the
[1:07:09] board approved for the ADA project. The
[1:07:12] amount that I have left I'll use as a
[1:07:14] matching funds against $5,000 from MCCF
[1:07:17] using one of their anytime $5,000
[1:07:20] grants. And if we can fit parking into
[1:07:23] it, we'll do that as well.
[1:07:24] >> Thank you. Thank you.
[1:07:26] >> Um,
[1:07:29] Glenn. Okay. So yeah, I've updated you
[1:07:33] on that on the HWA. Two trees were
[1:07:37] removed and Gene tells me they did a
[1:07:39] good job on it. They were about to fall
[1:07:41] on the bridge. Uh dog waste station
[1:07:44] we've talked about. DNR grant pending.
[1:07:47] I've got nothing on the other part on
[1:07:49] the five-year plan. Uh wreck inventory
[1:07:52] is due. We talked about it. Goals and
[1:07:54] objectives were approved. Finalized
[1:07:56] major projects. We've talked about uh
[1:07:59] new five-year plan projects. So, um Rick
[1:08:03] and Matt submitted something
[1:08:09] I'm sure Rick has this, but these are
[1:08:13] projects that Matt and Rick came up with
[1:08:15] for us to consider to add to the
[1:08:18] five-year plan. I want go through them
[1:08:20] individually.
[1:08:23] Dick, do you need
[1:08:24] >> I don't need I got orange.
[1:08:27] >> If you're gonna sit through all this
[1:08:28] stuff, you might as well know what's
[1:08:30] going on.
[1:08:33] >> Okay, first one is the non-motorized
[1:08:36] trail. Um Rick, is there anything else
[1:08:38] you think you need to add to our already
[1:08:40] discussion or are there any questions
[1:08:42] from the group about the non-motorized
[1:08:43] trail?
[1:08:44] >> I think we've got a lot of communication
[1:08:45] out. Like I said, there was some
[1:08:47] miscommunication we got to work through,
[1:08:50] but uh there's any questions. We're
[1:08:53] continuing. Uh I said the grant people
[1:08:56] are working with us. Everybody's working
[1:08:58] with us. So, we're continue
[1:09:00] >> community dock.
[1:09:02] >> The next one, community.
[1:09:04] >> Oh, yeah. That's uh Matt identified that
[1:09:06] as an opportunity to do another water
[1:09:08] access
[1:09:09] um point. He works with that group. I
[1:09:12] don't know too much about them. And
[1:09:14] that's basically to uh freshen that up,
[1:09:17] put a path in, put um picnic tables in,
[1:09:21] so on and so forth.
[1:09:21] >> Let me take that one.
[1:09:22] >> Sure.
[1:09:23] >> Because I know a little bit more about
[1:09:24] it. Um everybody knows where Outlet
[1:09:27] Avenue is, right?
[1:09:29] >> And it's the public dock. It's one of
[1:09:31] two public docks on Portage Lake on road
[1:09:35] ends. And um Matt had come up with the
[1:09:39] idea since he is on the board of Portage
[1:09:43] Point Summer Resort Corporation, which
[1:09:46] manages that dock. Um and their
[1:09:49] organization has lamented the fact that
[1:09:52] it really just doesn't get used. Uh
[1:09:54] they'd like to get it to get used. And
[1:09:57] the thought being that really the only
[1:09:59] people that can use it practically are
[1:10:01] people that live there because there's
[1:10:02] no place to park unless you park on the
[1:10:03] road. So why don't we put in um an ADA
[1:10:07] park uh bot which would just be three
[1:10:09] because usually you got to have three to
[1:10:11] make an ADA but whatever the minimum
[1:10:13] would be and of course that supports our
[1:10:15] whole ADA concept and the pathway is
[1:10:19] already there. A beautiful paved pathway
[1:10:21] was put in a few years ago so it's
[1:10:23] there. Uh but then there was discussion
[1:10:25] of maybe doing like a gazebo or
[1:10:28] something like they had at Sunset House
[1:10:31] and we could name this Sunrise House
[1:10:33] which is a nice kind of thing and
[1:10:36] hopefully we would generate some use.
[1:10:39] Our role here is to decide as a group is
[1:10:43] this a project that we would recommend
[1:10:45] to the board to include as potential
[1:10:46] projects for uh the five-year plan. And
[1:10:50] so I I get that's up to you guys. What
[1:10:53] do you think? Do you like this project?
[1:10:54] Do you not? I'll give you my opinion,
[1:10:55] but I'd rather hear your opinions first.
[1:10:58] >> I like that. I actually have never been
[1:10:59] there. And that's strange cuz I been to
[1:11:02] most of the places now that you say
[1:11:03] that. I'm like, I I just wrote it down
[1:11:05] so I could go check it out. I was
[1:11:06] playing it again.
[1:11:07] >> It's called Outlet Avenue.
[1:11:09] >> I I felt,
[1:11:10] >> Amber, I felt the same. and I took a
[1:11:12] tour with Matt when we're putting this
[1:11:13] together and I think it's an unused
[1:11:15] asset
[1:11:16] >> and we're looking at refreshing it for
[1:11:18] the community and and some of the stuff
[1:11:20] that they said or whatever we just said
[1:11:21] conceptually and we'll find out more
[1:11:24] when we get into it but that's the high
[1:11:26] level
[1:11:26] >> what I asked Matt to do was to use our
[1:11:31] um Zoom thing set up a meeting with the
[1:11:34] board of PPRSC that's the right and
[1:11:38] let's decide what we want to do and then
[1:11:40] we'll include that as a potential if our
[1:11:42] group feels as though this is something
[1:11:44] to do. I know Michelle has some ideas of
[1:11:46] how we should do it, but let's just get
[1:11:48] it together and then we'll go forward. I
[1:11:50] like the idea. So, to me, we know the
[1:11:53] trails project should be there. It's the
[1:11:54] number one request, landbased request of
[1:11:56] our survey. This, I think, is a great
[1:11:59] use of something that's not been used
[1:12:00] before. And it's like 80 feet of
[1:12:03] shoreline, which is I mean, I'd kill to
[1:12:05] have 80 ft of shoreline.
[1:12:07] >> Um, Avenue E. Uh, I don't believe this
[1:12:10] belongs on the 5-year plan because it's
[1:12:12] done. Um, we have avenue E. For those
[1:12:16] that don't know, when you go out to the
[1:12:19] beach and you make a right on Second
[1:12:22] Avenue, just before you get to the
[1:12:24] beach, on the left is Avenue. It looks
[1:12:27] like the driveway to the Brooks
[1:12:29] compound, but it's a road. When you go
[1:12:32] down that road, it jogs to the left and
[1:12:34] there's a little bitty parking lot, and
[1:12:36] that's how you access the pier.
[1:12:39] um it's all washed out. It it you know
[1:12:42] and um there's just problems with it and
[1:12:45] it's hard to get there because you have
[1:12:46] to walk over the rip wrap and it's not
[1:12:48] nice fine rip wrap that's big hard to
[1:12:51] walk over rip wrap. So um the board
[1:12:55] approved um Swedski fixing the uh all
[1:13:00] the wash out and such and making it nice
[1:13:03] and smooth. And um you know, our intent
[1:13:07] is to make that easily accessible and I
[1:13:10] think we've already um we've already
[1:13:13] gotten all the approvals to make that
[1:13:15] happen and that will happen probably in
[1:13:16] the next week or so. So I don't want to
[1:13:18] get a whole lot more details of how
[1:13:20] we're doing it, but it this is a done
[1:13:21] deal.
[1:13:22] >> Is there a walk that's going to go from
[1:13:24] the parking lot to the pier
[1:13:27] over those rough rocks that you're
[1:13:29] talking about?
[1:13:30] >> That's my plan.
[1:13:30] >> Yeah,
[1:13:31] >> that's my plan. I got to work out some
[1:13:32] details. Um, and by the time we meet
[1:13:35] next month, uh, I'll be able to I'll be
[1:13:38] able to give you some more details.
[1:13:39] >> So, all the things, that's what I was
[1:13:40] going to bring. All those things are
[1:13:41] already in process.
[1:13:43] >> Yes.
[1:13:44] >> Okay.
[1:13:44] >> Hopefully done by next week.
[1:13:46] >> So,
[1:13:46] >> the P the bridge to Okay,
[1:13:48] >> let me work on that one. I just ask that
[1:13:50] you trust me on this one.
[1:13:51] >> Anyway, I just want to make sure
[1:13:53] >> I think we're good. Um,
[1:13:56] shoreline access and experience
[1:14:00] enhancement. Um this is uh as you can
[1:14:04] read somehow expanding the use of the
[1:14:06] existing DNR boat launch uh by approving
[1:14:10] shoreline access adding a path improve
[1:14:12] water access site amenities that support
[1:14:14] fishing walking quiet use while
[1:14:16] maintaining the site's primary boating
[1:14:18] function.
[1:14:19] So that's a new one to me uh as far as
[1:14:22] >> this is similar to the other one we just
[1:14:24] talked about where there's a shoreline
[1:14:28] that's underutilized. Nobody uses it and
[1:14:30] explore working with the DNR to develop
[1:14:33] it as a spot where people can go and
[1:14:35] work right off the shoreline. Well,
[1:14:38] complexity is working with DNR, but I
[1:14:39] mean it's worth putting it on there.
[1:14:41] That's what we saw.
[1:14:42] >> So, that becomes something we need to
[1:14:44] decide. I've gone down this road before
[1:14:46] and DNR told me flat out don't even
[1:14:48] think about it because uh it is
[1:14:51] supported by uh by uh fishing or I'm
[1:14:55] sorry by um boating licenses and DNR has
[1:15:01] separate divisions and the voting
[1:15:03] division wants no other things happening
[1:15:05] with that. So I backed away from it. Um
[1:15:08] but if the group feels like this is
[1:15:10] something we should do, I'm okay to
[1:15:13] include it. But I would just ask with
[1:15:15] this, and I think I'm going to go a
[1:15:17] little bit broader than just this. Any
[1:15:19] of these items that we're putting on the
[1:15:20] five-year plan, I need someone to raise
[1:15:22] their hand and say, "I own this project.
[1:15:25] This is mine. I'm going to do all that
[1:15:27] we have to do to bring this home."
[1:15:29] Because if I don't have someone that's
[1:15:30] going to do it, I'm not I don't have
[1:15:31] time to do it. So, all these projects
[1:15:34] need to have an owner, and this one
[1:15:35] would be particularly complex. So, I'm
[1:15:38] not asking that I get a a hand to raise
[1:15:41] right now, but I just want to make sure
[1:15:43] everybody understands that there's
[1:15:44] challenges with this. The DNR is against
[1:15:47] it. Um, but I I like it. I mean, that's
[1:15:50] >> I think it's a good thing to put on
[1:15:51] because all these projects, some are
[1:15:53] going to work, some of them aren't, or
[1:15:55] whatever. I think fundamentally this
[1:15:57] water access lines up with all the uh
[1:16:01] feedback surveys we got and it's worth
[1:16:04] putting on there from Matt and I's
[1:16:06] perspective.
[1:16:06] >> Okay. I know it's from your perspective.
[1:16:08] That's why you put it here. I'm asking
[1:16:09] >> Matt did too.
[1:16:10] >> I know. I know. This is two votes out of
[1:16:12] all.
[1:16:13] >> Um, you guys need to make a decision. Do
[1:16:16] you want to put it on there or not? And, the things that I want you to
[1:16:19] consider is number one, it would be
[1:16:20] great access. It's a wonderful spot. I
[1:16:22] had this idea. I pursued it because I
[1:16:24] think this would be fantastic. What a
[1:16:26] great park that could be. Oh, by the
[1:16:27] way, I'd like to get pieces of property
[1:16:29] that are between there and and um and
[1:16:33] North Point Park, which are also owned
[1:16:35] by the state. we could really make this
[1:16:37] fantastic and I was blown out of the
[1:16:38] water with that as well. Um there's
[1:16:41] challenges. It's a great idea. Um but
[1:16:45] there's going to be opposition. So you
[1:16:47] guys decide whether you want to include
[1:16:48] it on there. And if we going to do it,
[1:16:50] we got two yes votes. Are you guys want
[1:16:53] it on or not? Michelle, yes or no.
[1:16:56] Brian, yes or no?
[1:16:57] >> Yes.
[1:16:57] >> Okay. Michelle.
[1:17:00] >> Susan,
[1:17:00] >> yes.
[1:17:01] >> Amber,
[1:17:02] >> yeah.
[1:17:03] >> Okay, it's on there. Langland access and
[1:17:06] experience enhancements.
[1:17:09] Make small low impact improvements to
[1:17:11] enhance the use of Langland, including
[1:17:12] seasonal catarandac seating, exploration
[1:17:15] of a pilot hammock area using removable
[1:17:18] infrastructure, and other seasonal
[1:17:20] amenities that complement existing beach
[1:17:22] and recreational features while
[1:17:24] encouraging relaxing and enjoyment of
[1:17:26] the waterfront. To me, this isn't a
[1:17:28] 5-year plan. This is a budget item. It's $30,000 to do this. Um, so I don't
[1:17:34] know that I would include it in the
[1:17:35] five-year plan. I think it's just
[1:17:36] something do do we really want to do
[1:17:38] this? And if we do, we can make a a
[1:17:40] budget item or we can make it a
[1:17:42] five-year plan. But again, group
[1:17:44] discussion and Rick, if you want to add
[1:17:45] anything to it. Matt had an idea with
[1:17:48] all the feedback and when we went out to
[1:17:49] the beach, you look at other parks, what
[1:17:53] else we can do out there. So an example
[1:17:55] would be he had put and necks out there
[1:17:58] because a lot of the people are using
[1:18:00] that other piece and they can use it
[1:18:02] around the picnic and then maybe I don't
[1:18:04] know anything about these hammocks or
[1:18:06] whatever but I think the anderondex was
[1:18:08] an interesting idea
[1:18:10] >> to continue to make that a
[1:18:14] >> hammock I just read an article about
[1:18:16] the hammock thing
[1:18:18] >> and and uh it's a a thing younger people
[1:18:22] are using. They're having just putting
[1:18:24] up posts and areas. There's collections
[1:18:27] of posts and then you can bring your
[1:18:29] hammock and just sling your hammock up
[1:18:32] and if you have like two or three or
[1:18:34] five people, they just hang out there
[1:18:36] and talk and lay around their hammocks
[1:18:38] and it's kind of a thing they want to
[1:18:40] have set up. Now
[1:18:41] >> there's one set up I think as you go
[1:18:43] into Manaste.
[1:18:44] >> Yeah, Manasty just did it at Fifth
[1:18:46] Avenue.
[1:18:47] >> Oh, is it? Yeah, they are because I see
[1:18:49] somebody put a bunch of those in their
[1:18:51] front yard if you drive in Parkdale.
[1:18:53] >> Yeah. All in Parkdale. This is Fifth
[1:18:56] Avenue Beach. They just put it down.
[1:18:59] >> I guess my only question would be with
[1:19:01] them is I mean Langland, it is a big
[1:19:04] park, but it's not that big. And we just
[1:19:06] put a volleyball thing in. I like the
[1:19:08] air and deck chairs absolutely but the
[1:19:10] hammocks that takes up more beach
[1:19:12] because
[1:19:13] >> me going there like I've noticed
[1:19:15] especially in the summer there isn't a
[1:19:17] whole lot of room
[1:19:19] >> and I love the volleyball the Aerindex
[1:19:22] would be great but if you put in a bunch
[1:19:24] of hammock poles now you're taking up
[1:19:26] more of that space that
[1:19:29] >> between I think it's an explore I think
[1:19:31] the anondaon decks are an easy thing I
[1:19:34] think that would be super
[1:19:35] >> and I believe the way it's setting is
[1:19:37] explore.
[1:19:38] >> Yeah,
[1:19:38] >> Jeie,
[1:19:39] >> I have an input just to look in the big
[1:19:42] picture since I'm one of the people that
[1:19:44] helps set up in this the spring is where
[1:19:47] are we going to store aderondex? Where
[1:19:50] are we going to store um the poles?
[1:19:52] Where are we going to keep everything
[1:19:54] including we now have more ADA um
[1:19:57] walkway? So, yes, aesthetically it would
[1:20:00] be great, but let's be realistic about
[1:20:02] storage space. We do not have storage
[1:20:05] space at this point. It's been a ongoing
[1:20:08] request to the board for as long as I've
[1:20:11] been here. Everybody recognizes we
[1:20:12] should have a building, but um they
[1:20:14] don't take the steps to actually get a
[1:20:16] building. All the all of the walkway is
[1:20:18] stored behind um the building here as is
[1:20:23] the volleyball net as any adder chairs
[1:20:26] would be. Those would be easier to
[1:20:27] steal. So that that's an issue. Um,
[1:20:30] Jean, uh, is the volleyball net up?
[1:20:34] >> Yes, it went up last night. I finally
[1:20:36] got
[1:20:37] >> my volunteers,
[1:20:40] including my son,
[1:20:42] were able to meet yesterday and um, they
[1:20:45] got it up.
[1:20:46] >> Good.
[1:20:47] >> And do you have any comments about uh,
[1:20:49] putting it in, taking it out, that sort
[1:20:51] of thing? Is that uh, present any issues
[1:20:53] for you?
[1:20:55] So, in the years past, it's always been
[1:20:57] a we've always been able to put it in
[1:21:00] during our work day in in May. This
[1:21:03] year, the people who I rely on to do
[1:21:05] that were not available then. Um, so it
[1:21:08] just took and then the weather was
[1:21:09] crazy. So, this year was a little more
[1:21:11] difficult. Um, and taking out has never
[1:21:14] been a problem. We usually do it on the
[1:21:15] same day we do the beach sweep for the
[1:21:17] uh garden club. I'm usually able to get
[1:21:19] people to help on that day. So,
[1:21:22] >> same thing with old fruit for aderondex
[1:21:25] and these uh hammock things.
[1:21:29] >> So, you're just adding an extra
[1:21:32] level of things that we have to install.
[1:21:34] I mean, those posts, like I watched
[1:21:36] Michael and Will dig yesterday in the
[1:21:39] sand to put the volleyball posts in. So,
[1:21:41] if we're putting hammock posts in,
[1:21:44] that's just more things that need to be
[1:21:46] dug. Aderand chairs sound wonderful, but
[1:21:49] they're heavy. I like
[1:21:52] um you know how am I going to get them
[1:21:54] from
[1:21:56] you know I my son has a trailer which is
[1:21:58] what we use now for the volleyball
[1:22:00] stuff. So those are things that I think
[1:22:02] we need to think about um
[1:22:05] before we decide we want to do add
[1:22:07] anything like that.
[1:22:09] >> I'm I'm the Scrooge. Everybody knows I'm
[1:22:11] the Scrooge. Um but to me um we have a
[1:22:15] park that on the July week has got more
[1:22:18] people than we could possibly handle as
[1:22:19] evidenced by the track trash challenges.
[1:22:22] We don't have any problem attracting
[1:22:23] people to the Lang Park. It's our most
[1:22:25] popular park when it's appropriate that
[1:22:27] it's most appropriate or the weather is
[1:22:31] right. I don't think we need any more
[1:22:33] things to get people to go there. We got
[1:22:35] a lot of people going there. Um if we
[1:22:37] want to do that, that's okay. Uh I don't
[1:22:39] again I don't think it needs to be um a
[1:22:43] um I mean this is small enough money
[1:22:45] that it can be a budget item if we feel
[1:22:48] strongly that we need to go to the board
[1:22:49] as part of the budget and ask for addand
[1:22:52] chairs andor the other things. Michelle
[1:22:56] >> I changed my mind.
[1:22:57] >> Oh okay. So, um
[1:23:02] I is this something we want to go to the
[1:23:03] board with in a part of because remember
[1:23:05] two months from now I'm going to come to
[1:23:06] you like I do every August and say what
[1:23:08] are your ideas of new things for the
[1:23:11] budget for next year and if this is
[1:23:14] something that we feel like we can go to
[1:23:16] the board and say we really want to do
[1:23:17] this just put in the budget. I mean
[1:23:20] these other things are more than $50,000
[1:23:23] for me. that makes sense for the 5-year
[1:23:25] plan. But I mean, I don't think I I
[1:23:28] don't I I don't know about these
[1:23:29] hammocks, but we can get Aderondac
[1:23:32] chairs for 15 grand. And
[1:23:35] >> okay,
[1:23:35] >> that that that's that's 10 10 grand from
[1:23:38] us and five grand from MCCF. If you were
[1:23:40] to move forward with the Aderondac
[1:23:42] chairs, I mean, I don't want to speak
[1:23:43] for the school, um, but I know the new
[1:23:46] shop teacher, uh, this was his first
[1:23:48] year doing it. They're super excited.
[1:23:50] They made a bunch of oversized, uh,
[1:23:52] aderond chairs. It was a good um project
[1:23:54] for the kids to learn on. It's a lot of
[1:23:56] big pieces that are roughly, you know,
[1:23:58] the same size and all that. Um I would
[1:24:00] really like to think that you could
[1:24:02] partner with the school on it and for
[1:24:03] very little get the shop classes to make
[1:24:06] them and possibly even put the aderond
[1:24:08] chairs out there during the portager day
[1:24:11] or whatever the one day in May. Now I
[1:24:13] don't know how to schedule with them
[1:24:15] getting it to take it out, but I think
[1:24:17] it could be a really cool collaboration
[1:24:18] with the school between the shop.
[1:24:20] >> Okay, I like that idea. I like that
[1:24:22] idea. we can work with the school to do
[1:24:24] it and uh not only make them but put
[1:24:26] them out and
[1:24:26] >> we have one day yet and
[1:24:27] >> however you plan I'm sure we could work
[1:24:30] out a way to get
[1:24:30] >> I think it makes an even better idea.
[1:24:32] So, let's take it off five-year plan and
[1:24:35] let's uh pursue that as just a as an
[1:24:38] assignment or a project and um we may in um in August um put some um dollar
[1:24:49] amount um based on what we learn between
[1:24:53] now and then. Greg, I'm in a meeting.
[1:24:56] I'll call you back.
[1:24:58] I can mention it to at our next uh
[1:25:00] community meeting, the superintendent
[1:25:02] and just kind of see what they think
[1:25:04] too. You guys,
[1:25:04] >> would you do that? Oh, good. This
[1:25:06] becomes a summer weather.
[1:25:10] >> Just to make sure that we go back to the important part of the end of the
[1:25:15] summer when we clear it out. Part of
[1:25:17] developing this is to find out where
[1:25:20] they will be stored until they come back
[1:25:23] in May. And it was
[1:25:27] to store them there, too. That that
[1:25:29] would be their one day thing. So, they
[1:25:32] can go out in May and then when the kids
[1:25:33] come back in school, maybe they can take
[1:25:35] them.
[1:25:35] >> I'd like to make sure that we capture at
[1:25:37] least explore
[1:25:40] >> exploring the hammock thing.
[1:25:42] >> Yeah. Well, I guess my only question
[1:25:44] would be are we going to provide
[1:25:46] hammocks or is this something
[1:25:49] themselves
[1:25:51] >> permission from? Just saying another
[1:25:52] thing to to go through. We had to get
[1:25:54] permission from was it Army Corps of
[1:25:57] Engineers to put out the two posts for
[1:25:59] the uh volleyball net and I had to make
[1:26:02] a big report and so just note
[1:26:04] >> yeah whatever we need to do is fine but
[1:26:06] I think it's
[1:26:06] >> critical you can't put it in the dunes
[1:26:08] because of critical dunes and all that
[1:26:09] >> can we take that offline so I I do think
[1:26:11] that's a critical element to talk about
[1:26:14] it also has impacted our whole ADA
[1:26:16] walkway and all that other thing getting
[1:26:17] approval of of of them so I do think we
[1:26:20] should talk about that but I want to I
[1:26:22] want to gather my thoughts on that and
[1:26:23] talk about it offline.
[1:26:25] >> Okay. I just want to make sure we
[1:26:26] capture it in that line item. Is some
[1:26:28] we're looking up.
[1:26:30] >> Um okay. So that but that that is a
[1:26:33] separate item from the uh the project
[1:26:38] and you'll look into the whole building
[1:26:40] of it. We would do some funding if we
[1:26:42] needed to help them with any funding.
[1:26:43] They wouldn't need to spend any money.
[1:26:45] We would provide the raw materials, that
[1:26:47] sort of thing. And it would be a real
[1:26:49] bonus that they could install and take
[1:26:51] out. But I think we could uh help with
[1:26:54] that. If storage is managed, that's
[1:26:56] fantastic. If storage is not managed, we
[1:26:58] have an open item and I will get again
[1:27:01] bring it to the board. But I'm going to
[1:27:02] bring it to the board now because now
[1:27:03] we're going to have three times as much
[1:27:05] ADA walkway that we're going to have to
[1:27:07] store outside as well.
[1:27:09] >> I I I guess I will make my point. Maybe
[1:27:11] Langland isn't the right place for the
[1:27:13] hammocks. Maybe Cardon
[1:27:15] >> because we're right next to the Babbling
[1:27:17] Brook there. It's very low utilized and
[1:27:21] you wouldn't have to go through all the
[1:27:23] rig.
[1:27:24] >> Well, another way of saying it is look
[1:27:27] at exploring uh hammocks in the park
[1:27:30] system.
[1:27:31] >> Yeah. That way leaves it kind of open
[1:27:33] for you.
[1:27:34] >> I like the idea of pardon because it's
[1:27:36] more of like that relaxing
[1:27:39] of like the recreational really
[1:27:42] >> nice thing Brian brought up. It's like
[1:27:43] trend on for younger people, you know.
[1:27:46] >> Yeah.
[1:27:46] >> And other other communities are doing
[1:27:48] it.
[1:27:49] >> Yeah. I'm I'm familiar with it. I I
[1:27:50] don't disagree with that, but I I like
[1:27:52] Amber's point that it's very busy out
[1:27:54] there. We have a park that we really
[1:27:56] trying to get people to.
[1:27:57] >> Yeah, I think it's great. It's a park
[1:27:59] system where we can pick them up, put
[1:28:00] three of them in somewhere.
[1:28:01] >> So, the uh the hammock thing can be at
[1:28:03] any of our parks currently under
[1:28:06] consideration are both Cardon and
[1:28:07] Langland. Okay. So, um where did we get
[1:28:12] off on that? Um those are the five-year
[1:28:16] plan projects. Okay.
[1:28:18] Um, and then I already mentioned
[1:28:20] ownership. So, that takes care of the
[1:28:22] five-year plan discussion. Uh, old
[1:28:25] unfinished business. Uh, I continue to
[1:28:28] work on the website. The volunteer page
[1:28:30] is up. Uh, five-year plan needs some
[1:28:32] pictures. Invasive species Gan and I are
[1:28:35] going to work on a little bit more.
[1:28:37] Langland door lock. Uh, Gan and I will
[1:28:39] need to follow up on, but this is not an
[1:28:41] emergency issue. new business. Um, ADA
[1:28:45] parking lot strike at North Point. We've
[1:28:48] talked about that.
[1:28:49] >> I'm sorry. Really sorry, but if I work
[1:28:51] really, really fast, could we possibly
[1:28:54] put the ADA drinking fountain in with
[1:28:56] the other ADA request for the grants? I
[1:28:59] think Rick suggested we try and bundle
[1:29:01] things. Maybe I could get you something
[1:29:04] on this.
[1:29:04] >> You get an idea how much money we're
[1:29:06] trying. I don't have very much money
[1:29:07] left in the budget. Um, I'll ask the
[1:29:10] cran. I don't know what
[1:29:11] >> That's what I'm saying. Well, but I'm
[1:29:13] committing capital to five grand.
[1:29:15] >> So, it would be it would be more than
[1:29:17] five grand. So, it would be a bigger
[1:29:18] one,
[1:29:19] >> right? I would rather do a separate one
[1:29:21] for that. Um,
[1:29:23] >> because we can make this happen right
[1:29:25] now. I want some right now results and we can make this happen. And even if
[1:29:29] the parking lot makes this a not right now, then I'm not doing the
[1:29:32] parking lot. I want right now results.
[1:29:34] So, we can say this is what parks and
[1:29:35] wreck is doing. We'll do parking lot
[1:29:36] next. But I think we can my guess is
[1:29:39] paint is cheap. uh drinking fountain. I
[1:29:41] don't know it's going to be that cheap.
[1:29:46] this July 23rd, Michelle, the host, MD
[1:29:49] Docs, Langland, anything we need to know
[1:29:51] about that.
[1:29:52] >> If you can show up, uh we're having a
[1:29:55] lot of trouble communicating because
[1:29:56] they just changed web platforms and so I
[1:29:58] don't know if anyone's going to even
[1:29:59] know about it. So hopefully it's
[1:30:03] >> okay. Community doc, we've already
[1:30:05] talked about that. got moved into the
[1:30:07] five-year plan ideas, new canvas
[1:30:09] project, including dark light skating.
[1:30:11] That's again something I'm working on.
[1:30:13] Okay. Uh do anybody have anything that I
[1:30:16] have failed to talk about? Yeah, I just
[1:30:19] have one point. I don't want a
[1:30:20] discussion on it. I'm sure we're set. I
[1:30:23] know we worked real hard at Langland
[1:30:25] during Fourth of July. I know last year
[1:30:27] I helped out and got two truckloads of
[1:30:30] uh fireworks out of there. So, I just
[1:30:33] want to make sure we're locked and
[1:30:35] loaded for that event. No discussion.
[1:30:36] It's just a point.
[1:30:37] >> Jean, do you have any comments?
[1:30:40] >> We will do our best to make sure that
[1:30:42] everything gets cleared out of there.
[1:30:44] >> Thank you. Okay. Anything else? Uh
[1:30:47] Brian,
[1:30:48] >> the conservation district, we're hiring
[1:30:50] a new conservation technician. So that's
[1:30:53] what Tyler's position was before.
[1:30:56] >> So possibly we could get that person to
[1:31:00] help us out like Tyler had been helping
[1:31:03] us out.
[1:31:03] >> That would be
[1:31:04] >> so that Yeah. ction. We'll find out more
[1:31:06] about that as we go through.
[1:31:08] >> Are you part of the conservation
[1:31:09] district?
[1:31:09] >> Yes. Yeah.
[1:31:10] >> Uh would you can I make that an
[1:31:12] assignment for you to follow up on that?
[1:31:14] Make sure they know that they have no
[1:31:16] responsibilities other than to consult
[1:31:17] and to come to our meeting.
[1:31:18] >> Sure.
[1:31:19] >> That would be fantastic.
[1:31:21] >> Yeah. We we just we miss them. Yeah.
[1:31:23] Jean, go ahead.
[1:31:25] >> All right. Well, um I feel a phone call
[1:31:28] from Grant about the gazebo. They are
[1:31:31] painting. Um, and what he said is that
[1:31:34] he's going to they're going to finish
[1:31:36] the painting that we need to go out
[1:31:37] there. If we want more um work done, it
[1:31:41] would be he'd have to bondo and sand and
[1:31:44] that would be a change order because
[1:31:45] it's not in the original contract. So,
[1:31:48] it'll be the painted over, but that one
[1:31:51] that's really etched in there would be
[1:31:54] um he would have to do more other than
[1:31:56] just painting it.
[1:31:57] So, so have him paint it and have him
[1:32:00] give you an estimate for the change
[1:32:04] order.
[1:32:05] >> That that's exactly what he and I
[1:32:07] discussed. So, yes.
[1:32:08] >> Okay.
[1:32:09] >> Also, I wanted to let you know that um I
[1:32:11] did finally meet with Caleb yesterday
[1:32:13] and they came out same day, Jean. And
[1:32:15] so, as far as I know now, the irrigation
[1:32:18] project is complete.
[1:32:21] >> Okay. So, let's put some meat on the
[1:32:23] boats. The irrigation project is
[1:32:25] complete. We This is where we put in a
[1:32:27] whole bunch of trees and Jean and team
[1:32:30] were watering by hand. Now there is
[1:32:33] little bitty water things that go to
[1:32:35] every one of those trees. It's all
[1:32:37] hooked up to the well. It's done.
[1:32:38] There's no more money to be spent. We're done.
[1:32:40] >> Well, they already got paid, but um he
[1:32:42] needed to
[1:32:44] >> The check hasn't been
[1:32:46] >> The check is
[1:32:47] >> You caught it. There was a place where
[1:32:49] it needed to be buried because it was a
[1:32:51] tripping hazard and there we didn't get
[1:32:53] We only had two spigots in the way. make
[1:32:55] our so I I walked it with him. We are
[1:32:58] all set.
[1:32:59] >> Okay. When you say we are all set, are
[1:33:02] we all set and that we set clearly
[1:33:04] defined goals of what he has to do or is
[1:33:06] it done?
[1:33:06] >> It's done.
[1:33:07] >> It is done.
[1:33:08] Now I would like to go get
[1:33:10] compost and stuff. But
[1:33:12] >> that's different.
[1:33:14] >> But yes, as far as that had to be done
[1:33:16] before they could bleach the well or
[1:33:17] something.
[1:33:18] >> Okay,
[1:33:19] >> that's already been done.
[1:33:20] >> Um Jean, go ahead. Jennifer was supposed
[1:33:22] to order the bleaching of the well
[1:33:24] because it it that that was able to be
[1:33:27] done quite a while ago. Um and Grant, a
[1:33:31] different Grant. Too many Grants in my
[1:33:33] life. Um who is Sherry's husband has
[1:33:36] been monitoring this and he just went to
[1:33:39] the Wag Garden and he and Caleb had a
[1:33:41] conversation about how often that's
[1:33:43] being watered and he's Grant has
[1:33:46] verified that things areed.
[1:33:50] So, but did I hear you say that we have
[1:33:53] an an open issue on the bleaching of the
[1:33:55] well?
[1:33:58] >> I have to I'm going to follow up with
[1:34:00] Jennifer to see if that got ordered.
[1:34:03] >> Okay. So,
[1:34:03] >> bleach go to the plant?
[1:34:05] >> No, it's not separate somewhere.
[1:34:08] >> All right. So, you've got that as an
[1:34:09] open item, Jean?
[1:34:12] >> Yes.
[1:34:12] >> Okay.
[1:34:14] >> Is there anything else? Go ahead. If you
[1:34:16] have something, let's get Okay.
[1:34:18] >> No,
[1:34:18] >> Dave. How why are they bleaching the
[1:34:20] well or why do they have to there's some
[1:34:22] reason?
[1:34:23] >> Why do they have to bleach the well? Mr.
[1:34:25] Meister has asked we're allowing public
[1:34:27] comment.
[1:34:30] » The the reason they have to do that is
[1:34:32] that we've asked to have it be portable
[1:34:34] water. And one of the things that DH um
[1:34:37] 10 has required is that you have to
[1:34:39] clean it. I think it's once a year. Um
[1:34:42] and the well the well guys are very
[1:34:44] familiar with doing that.
[1:34:47] So we're we're you know in the plan is
[1:34:49] making a drinking station and a dog
[1:34:52] watering station and a preliminary to
[1:34:54] that is to do this to make sure it's
[1:34:56] totally
[1:34:57] >> So is that test the water four times a
[1:34:59] year?
[1:34:59] >> Does that mean we have to test the water
[1:35:01] four times a year?
[1:35:03] >> We were told two different things. When
[1:35:05] I called and asked they said I had to
[1:35:07] have six months backtoback of clean
[1:35:09] testing. When Jennifer called she got a
[1:35:11] completely different story but I think
[1:35:13] she went over the head of the person
[1:35:14] that I spoke with. So now it is it's there's going to be some type of
[1:35:19] testing and some bleaching.
[1:35:23] >> Okay. So this is new news. So we now
[1:35:25] have um an ongoing
[1:35:29] um requirement to make sure that the
[1:35:31] water is clean. Is that Jean? Do you
[1:35:33] know anything about that?
[1:35:36] >> I didn't know about
[1:35:38] but it makes sense because we do we do
[1:35:40] the same thing with our other like the
[1:35:43] bubbler. Um, but I don't know that. I do
[1:35:46] not know the details. I only know we
[1:35:47] were required to bleach it. All
[1:35:49] >> right. So, you and I will work on it,
[1:35:50] but would you take it as a thing to do
[1:35:52] that we need to follow up with Jennifer
[1:35:54] to find out what specifically are our
[1:35:57] requirements on an ongoing basis to make
[1:36:00] sure that this is portable water?
[1:36:02] >> Thank you.
[1:36:03] >> It's going to be the same as
[1:36:06] » And we do we have a fountain, Dave?
[1:36:09] >> Well, the one No, the one on Porch Point
[1:36:11] Drive. I mean it's going to be the same
[1:36:12] as the well there by Lil Eden.
[1:36:14] >> Okay. Well, I don't know what that is,
[1:36:16] but and this becomes our responsibility
[1:36:18] and it's not in our budget. So, we need
[1:36:19] to find out what it is and get it in the
[1:36:21] budget. Okay. Anything else?
[1:36:25] Okay, it is 10:08 and the meeting is
[1:36:27] adjourned and I am going to stop the
[1:36:29] recording. Thank you for attending Jean
[1:36:32] Chelsea and myself Edward Bradford.
