[5:22] behalf of the mayor, our council, and myself, we present you

[6:14] I I get phone calls from time to time on broken water lines from several of the

[6:20] council members, you, Mr. Harvey, Jim, citizens, whoever

[6:25] it may be. I get a phone call at night or on the weekend.

[6:28] Man, there's water blowing everywhere, whatever, you know. So, I I hurry up and

[6:32] get on the phone to call Anthony and he's laughing at us because it's either

[6:36] A, done already, or B, he's got guys in route already, and and the problem's

[6:42] handled. So, uh he he does everything I ask him to

[6:46] do, well, up until today. I asked him to do a little two, three-minute speech and

[6:51] he declined. So, so, but no, he he's a great employee.

[13:21] » With regards to the proposed instrument, uh the council had earlier this year

[13:26] uh charged me with uh obtaining a title search on a tract of property. This

[13:32] piece of property that is uh described in this instrument

[13:36] lies uh in the in around the Woods

[13:39] subdivision on the dam is what it is. It's an access road. Question is whether

[13:44] or not the uh

[13:46] these I think it was Woods 10 subdivision plat that was approved

[13:51] uh I guess maybe back in 2007, 2008, it showed a road to the south of it.

[13:56] But it was not included in the official uh the official plat. Whether the city

[14:01] of Picayune had any interest in it. And after I looked at the uh title on

[14:06] it, I gave an opinion that the city did not have an interest in it.

[14:10] And at that point in time, the matter was you know, considered closed.

[14:14] Uh the Woods Property Owners Association uh through their lawyer requested that

[14:19] just in case that the city would uh uh execute a quitclaim deed clarifying

[14:24] that fact. And that's what this instrument does. Uh

[14:28] whatever interest we have, which I don't think we have any interest in it, we are

[14:32] clarifying that we do not have an interest in it, and we're putting that

[14:36] on the land records, and that's what that that's what that is about. So, this

[14:40] doesn't affect any uh private property owners' rights at all. It just says the

[14:44] city of Picayune has none in that regard.

[15:28] years. Forest Health reached back out to us and said they can only do a 3-year,

[15:32] but at the end of that 3-year continue to to do the contract as we had agreed

[15:38] on. Uh and basically counselor, you told me

[15:40] instead of rescinding, we could have just amend that contract so we don't

[15:43] have two contracts in place. Is that correct?

[15:46] » Yes. Uh what it is that this appeared because they are also a company on this

[15:51] agency and they may have some limitations on

[15:54] their contract and power. Uh I mean, I haven't looked into it to

[15:57] see if they do, but it is generally that what they have told uh

[16:00] I guess they told the city manager. And what we're doing is instead of

[16:04] rescinding a contract and redoing a contract, we will just amend that before

[16:08] their request down to a 3-year contract and they'll always have a right to renew

[16:15] as long as the parties are agreeing. >> Okay.

[18:01] um also for dispatch, that that's a that's another large one to get through

[18:05] the the rest of the um budget year. And um

[18:11] we're replacing some money where we had to

[18:15] spend extra to prepare for the tropical storm here in under the emergency um

[18:20] declaration. And so we're put replenishing money back into the

[18:24] existing I mean to the budgets that were affected by that to cover where they had

[18:28] to spend out of their budgets in the meantime.

[18:30] And um that's that's really the the the bulk of

[23:06] is something that has been very very important to the city in a lot of ways

[23:13] and there's not many. I think it's less than

[23:17] 10 that have national accreditation and

[23:20] then that says a lot for all of the hard work that Chief you your

[23:25] department and everybody that helped you with that. Uh, we really appreciate that

[23:33] because it does a lot for the community. Could you just tell us in just a few

[23:38] words about how important that it is to the city and how it it allows the

[23:45] citizens of Picayune to benefit from that?

[23:49] » Yeah, thank you. I appreciate that. And my

[23:51] hat's off to the to the employees in in the office today

[23:55] that made that happen. It's a collective effort and we do have an accreditation

[23:59] manager who does all that paperwork together.

[24:02] Uh, I've got to make sure the chief has to make sure that at the

[24:05] end of the day it's done. Uh, but where you see it in the

[24:10] in the end is you know, unlike I'm like the fire department, you know, they got

[24:13] certain things that can affect your mobile insurance rating and so there's

[24:16] not a cost savings on the front end but there is on the back end. Doing it the

[24:21] way it's designed to do and the way it's supposed to do it,

[24:23] shouldn't be if if any lawsuits, very very few. So you'll see that savings

[24:28] there. Uh, when you're operating under the best

[24:31] practices under uh, standards that are time sensitive and you're keeping up

[24:35] with that. And it provides a lot of checks and balances. So that's where

[24:38] you'll see it on the on the on the end of of that spectrum but uh, day-to-day

[24:44] operations, you know, and the professional services that should be

[24:47] delivered, everything's done the way it's supposed to be done.

[29:54] town. First his tent was within the building code limit. It was

[29:59] 17 ft, supposed to be 20 ft. Then he put his tent up where it was in the ditch.

[30:05] But he had his 3 days to correct it, so the season was over, so nothing could be

[30:09] done. That's why I'm here today to let's get this passed now for the next season.

[30:17] used to be. No fireworks and tents in the city of Picayune.
