[0:06]
Okay. Welcome, everybody.
[0:11]
Welcome, everybody. Thank you, Joey.
[0:19]
If I could have your attention, please.
[0:25]
Mr. Storm.
[0:28]
Okay,
[0:32]
so we have a number. I'm reporting out today. We have a number of folks who can be here. I think a lot of it has to do with.
[0:39]
It's typically on Tuesday and I moved it to Monday and so many people are like,
[0:42]
why did I already have something scheduled on Monday and so that's all good.
[0:47]
A lot of people are doing lots of different things.
[0:49]
We have a couple of people who are going to join us online and so just the words about that.
[0:58]
Okay, I'm just really excited.
[1:00]
I've been like anxious and excited to meet you today and so it's good to see you all.
[1:05]
We've been working hard already.
[1:07]
Okay, we'll get right into it. Board meeting typically we have a board meeting report, but it is the board meeting tonight.
[1:16]
And so we'll have this meeting in our high school success meeting. We'll have to move somewhere else so they can set up for the board meeting.
[1:24]
All right.
[1:26]
Gabe, do you want to start us off? Do you want to hang for a minute?
[1:29]
Sure. Where do you want to do?
[1:31]
Okay, okay, okay.
[1:33]
I'm gonna mean that word for your time. Okay. All right, Rob technology. What's you got? Oh?
[1:41]
Sector will use policy make sure we get them in by the 30th.
[1:44]
Pickups are going great. Please continue to use them and keep your computers on on Tuesday nights so that we can do the updates.
[1:51]
What was the first thing you said?
[1:53]
Sector will use falsen.
[1:54]
The form of the computers.
[2:06]
Okay, the safety plan review, we asked that you, everyone should have a safety plan submitted.
[2:14]
And if you're not sure and you don't know what I'm talking about, then I'm talking to
[2:18]
you to me, Sean or Kimmy.
[2:20]
And if you, but we would like for you to pull those up, review them, make sure that they still
[2:26]
are applicable if you've changed spaces or for whatever reason.
[2:31]
If I want you to review it, check it out, make sure it still makes sense and it's good
[2:34]
to go for you.
[2:36]
And so kick us an e-mail when you've done that, just say safety plan, still apply.
[2:40]
If you need help with that or want to talk about it, any of the three of us are asked to talk
[2:46]
about it.
[2:49]
B's, I know that there's been some conversation about B's and our team works really hard
[2:53]
to help out with that. And so if you notice fees, let the team know and know to their best
[3:02]
to get rid of any fees. Okay. Athletics, Mariah. Right off the bat. Okay. So we're working
[3:12]
on a project for season. I hope I'm talking about it. I'm going to apologize if there's mud right
[3:19]
out, they're over in progress, but what we're doing to do is we're going to have
[3:26]
complicated things in a high school classes for each high school class to be
[3:30]
their own house, and they're going to continue against each other this fall by
[3:34]
purchase experience, games during the past centuries of competitions, and then
[3:40]
service activities. As a kickoff classes are then wrapped staff members into
[3:45]
house. So your guys,
[3:51]
so when you have that on class advisors will automatically be on that
[3:58]
classes team. When you dress up on spirit days where you guys show up to a game, you
[4:03]
help tear them on your earning points for that class. You'll also, well, at the end of
[4:12]
the season, whatever house, we'll get like a really fun, gotty trophy to put in the trophy
[4:23]
I don't think that's what I have.
[4:28]
Yeah.
[4:29]
And who all is on your Spartan Spirit Committee?
[4:37]
I don't know.
[4:38]
Okay.
[4:38]
So it's that table.
[4:39]
Okay.
[4:40]
Well, we really appreciate it.
[4:42]
I feel like your energies are.
[4:46]
We can feel it.
[4:47]
And ramping up and you're doing a great job.
[4:49]
I think that I hope I'm not speaking out of turn, I think that they're open to ideas
[4:54]
of collaboration.
[4:55]
So if this sparks interest for you, touch base with them.
[4:59]
And when Mariah and I were talking, she, you know, they're open to ideas and seeing where
[5:04]
it can run.
[5:05]
Am I right or am I right?
[5:06]
Yeah.
[5:07]
I heard the football boys talking about the sign early after the game and they thought that
[5:13]
I was so cool and I was, is that going to be the next game that I think, you know, so they really enjoy that.
[5:20]
I think just to put in, because I mean obviously you do player, but at half time they were kind of all kind of low and shmummy.
[5:29]
And they stood there, the wind, they put it up and the wind started picking up and it started turning around. It's tearing from!
[5:35]
And I think if MFM does so much, I think it's such a better way to get in the line.
[5:40]
It was awesome.
[5:41]
Cool. Very cool.
[5:44]
Okay. This is something I want to start doing every meeting.
[5:51]
The day I'd like to talk about the 6-12th grade PLTs that we established at the beginning of school.
[5:59]
So we established an ELA.
[6:02]
a middle and upper ELA, middle and upper CTE, and what's it, math science
[6:08]
social studies, that's the last one. And so I would love if one of you would
[6:12]
talk about what you guys are doing, what is your goal? I mean I don't think
[6:17]
any do have a chance to meet again, but I'm just going to share out so we know
[6:21]
what your focus is for your small group.
[6:28]
Kathy, go ahead.
[6:28]
science, but we've got that we wanted to focus on vocabulary here and term math and science studies and so we're all, we all agree to do the prayer model vocab in our classes.
[6:43]
And so we're all, we all agree to do the prayer model vocab in our classes and teachers.
[6:45]
Okay, good at it.
[6:49]
Anyway, so that was part of it.
[6:54]
We were in CT, we're focusing on students being able to push three things they're uncomfortable
[7:01]
doing and knowing that's just kind of part of life.
[7:06]
And so for my classes, during the first week, I had them do a reflection sheet on what
[7:12]
they've heard the classes will be about and what they're excited about and what their
[7:20]
by opening the ear, like what they were worried about,
[7:24]
and they were like, do I speak to that?
[7:27]
And like, no one expects you to know all of this stuff yet.
[7:30]
You're in this class, but they were worried about
[7:33]
photo editing and stuff and saying, yeah,
[7:35]
that's why you're in this class today, aren't it?
[7:38]
But it was good to see, you know,
[7:41]
kind of what's going on in the head to the open.
[7:44]
Great.
[7:45]
Great.
[7:46]
And then the ELA,
[7:50]
So why are we looking at being able to have kids be able to read things, put it in their own words, and then integrate more like multiples into their own words, and then eventually get you to fight whether
[8:02]
they're brought solid on using the APA formula.
[8:07]
Very formula.
[8:09]
So each team identified a lacking skill
[8:12]
that all the students that they shared
[8:14]
and developed the goal.
[8:16]
So pretty tiny setting work that we haven't done
[8:18]
at school level, fiddle on it.
[8:20]
So I just have those fun.
[8:22]
Sure.
[8:22]
The other PLT groups that I want to share
[8:25]
anything about your focus,
[8:27]
we'll wait until next time, convert to you.
[8:30]
It's fun, good, good, thank you.
[8:31]
As I said, yeah, I actually have a question
[8:32]
about the ELA. Is that what we're using when we talk about citations? Are we teaching
[8:38]
them APA? Okay.
[8:43]
Okay, anything else?
[8:45]
PLTs? Fun.
[8:49]
Okay, so here's some new news, and there's some decisions we need to make.
[8:54]
This first one is 7 to 12. Ivy Watt is coming, and I have to read here, as you can see, it's
[9:01]
linked, and you can go to her website. She is a speaker who is going to be addressing
[9:08]
all of Baker County and beyond. And it's being brought in by grants to speak about
[9:16]
suicide prevention. There's been a number of, give maybe you can speak to this, a number
[9:21]
of suicides around in Baker and North powder. And so this was a big effort to support the
[9:28]
in the community is correct. There were in 2023 there was about five suicides for the entire
[9:36]
county for the whole year and then in 2024 there was over 11 and then from February of 24 to
[9:46]
February of 25, it was total 17.
[9:50]
What's the age range, is that aim?
[9:52]
That all everything from high school to 80 something.
[9:57]
So up until, there's only a couple of cases
[9:59]
where there are use in recent times.
[10:03]
But that's what I, especially this 25 year
[10:09]
where it ramped up, and then early on,
[10:11]
and 24 when it ramped up, and then really on in 25 and first two months, we met six right away.
[10:19]
And so even I think Salem is calling over to the same thing, and what's going on in
[10:24]
a big account. So I'm part of the Susapvention Committee as well. And this is a great opportunity,
[10:34]
they're paying big money for the speaker, they've searched high and low, and I think it would be
[10:40]
great opportunity for high school, is that what you're thinking?
[10:44]
I mean, it's 7 to 12 and I have the state wrong, it's the 24th, it's a Wednesday and so they included
[10:55]
us and I just appreciate them so much for really making it work for us outlying districts, I think we're
[11:02]
We're going at the same time as Yucaya.
[11:05]
And what I was invited, Huntington and Berk River.
[11:10]
I think being by a unique north side as well.
[11:13]
But we really wanted to make sure that everybody,
[11:16]
because many of you are responsible for that,
[11:18]
that experience.
[11:22]
If there's any problem with it, let us know.
[11:25]
And there's funds that potentially help with.
[11:29]
I've had to run it to the board, but there's any hesitation because of funds less?
[11:34]
Yeah, I think we're squared away. I've talked to Craig with the transportation team and he's prepared.
[11:40]
So our time is the 24th. I want to say the 24th from 1 to 2. And it'll be in the big
[11:46]
auditorium. And so there'll be a number of lots of room for everybody. And like I said,
[11:51]
a number of other small schools at the same time. And so that'll be us. I think he said
[11:58]
and so we'll load up and talk to the supervision and who's going to go and all that as the time gets closer.
[12:04]
But just want you to be aware that that's coming.
[12:07]
So it's a small pitch at the two-side prevention committee needs once a month.
[12:13]
And there's zoom available if anybody wants to just listen in.
[12:17]
Our next one is tomorrow and I can share the zoom link with you.
[12:22]
I know it's during the day, but if anybody is interested in getting more involved in that,
[12:27]
I can certainly make that happen. That 130. It's usually the second Tuesday of every week,
[12:33]
so if you want more information, that's okay. Okay, next step is back to school night,
[12:39]
which is just coming Wednesday. And so it'll be 530 to 630. And similar to last year,
[12:48]
the admin team is going to be serving the dinner and well, there was onion and green beans and all that good stuff.
[12:57]
I've got the ones to cheese in there.
[13:00]
I don't know what to do.
[13:01]
Okay.
[13:02]
Anyway.
[13:03]
You would be like me.
[13:04]
I should have.
[13:05]
I should have.
[13:06]
Yeah.
[13:07]
I just like good.
[13:09]
Okay.
[13:10]
And so last time we did a very similar to this and and really liked how it felt.
[13:15]
that informal where you're eating and you're floating and we're going to have dinner ready before
[13:21]
5.30, we're hoping for 5.15, it's remained eating closer to 5. And so if you want to come stuff
[13:27]
your face first, get the burlin breath going on and then be ready to talk. You know, so if that
[13:33]
it would be helpful, so you can eat and then be ready to be chatting and floating through with the
[13:39]
families prior, you see what I'm saying, heat first and chat.
[13:43]
However you want to do it, we're open for whatever feels right for you.
[13:48]
We have a couple of groups from Baker coming out, community groups,
[13:54]
to show what they have available for our families.
[13:59]
And so they'll have tables, I think, set up in the hall.
[14:01]
And so some of the high schoolers, if you want to have like a school
[14:05]
and chill in the hall or stay in the cafeteria, we want that to be pretty fluid.
[14:08]
but the cafeteria can get pretty loud with that many people.
[14:12]
We talked about having people go to the gym, but then if not everyone goes there,
[14:17]
then that's kind of like isolation bill, you know.
[14:19]
So I think we're just going to do it all.
[14:21]
In the hall, in the cafeteria, just be pretty informal with it.
[14:24]
So be prepared for whatever that looks like it feels like to you.
[14:29]
Last year did primary teachers go to their rooms and have things?
[14:35]
Or you stayed?
[14:35]
Okay. Okay. So if you have ideas or you want to try something different, you know, let's
[14:43]
chat about it, but it seemed like feedback last year was really good. Last year we went
[14:47]
530-7 and so we went down to 630. You're welcome.
[14:55]
So a whole point about this school is for them
[14:58]
to get comfortable with this.
[15:00]
You know, establish that relationship so you can, you know, send out the celebrations and requests and, you know, have some tough conversations when needed, but you've had a conversation with them and established. I know a lot of you have already made contact with that, but it's an important time to connect with families and community. Any questions about that?
[15:22]
Okay. Fall festival bars. You got it. Fall festival is going to be on October 18th. We're going to go one bit five.
[15:32]
We're looking at the main scenes, maybe a little bit different, maybe 30 times kids run
[15:36]
at the past in terms of the different games.
[15:38]
We're really looking for adults to run it because kids leave the place and we run around
[15:43]
there.
[15:43]
They're gone.
[15:45]
So yeah, we thought people were looking for volunteers, so if you're willing to run it,
[15:50]
run eight games, please let me know.
[15:54]
Oh yeah, dodgeball and you want to run it, is that what you're telling me?
[15:57]
I did it last year.
[15:59]
Sure.
[15:59]
I'll put you down.
[16:00]
And then there's a formal tournament, so if you need a partner, you really want to play
[16:05]
cornholst.
[16:07]
Yeah, sign up.
[16:08]
It's been fun and we just hope to make it so it becomes one more thought you should.
[16:16]
It's a big lift, it's a heavy lift, we appreciate you doing it.
[16:20]
All right, gave it up.
[16:24]
Thanks for having me, I know you guys have a limited time, there's only a few bases in the
[16:29]
I don't recognize this thing already.
[16:32]
I think everybody else is going to be staying through your last work.
[16:36]
Yeah.
[16:36]
Okay.
[16:37]
So what have you heard about me?
[16:40]
Am I here?
[16:41]
Why is there a cop in your school?
[16:42]
I made you briefly.
[16:44]
You're not making it.
[16:45]
You're not making it.
[16:45]
You're not going to stay here.
[16:46]
What's the name?
[16:46]
My name's Peter Callie.
[16:48]
Here you go.
[16:49]
Oh wait.
[16:49]
Are you related?
[16:51]
I'm very glad.
[16:52]
My name.
[16:53]
My marriage.
[16:54]
Hey.
[16:54]
I can talk to you at all.
[16:56]
What have you heard about me?
[16:58]
Why is there a cop in school?
[16:59]
school. I was assuming in case of some dangerous situations.
[17:07]
You didn't hear anything about it.
[17:09]
I have it.
[17:10]
Thank you.
[17:13]
Okay.
[17:15]
I'm meeting mom now.
[17:16]
Maybe she just doesn't remember.
[17:17]
That's right.
[17:19]
I'm like, we need to take the picture.
[17:22]
Everybody else kind of does.
[17:23]
It's just a refresher.
[17:24]
I'm here, obviously.
[17:26]
I'm not dressed like a real cop.
[17:28]
body time then he does the whole thing but I was feeling the sheriff's office he got in the set up
[17:32]
and now without giving the whole spiel I'm only getting off to the sheriff's office and my
[17:38]
primary focus has been we've worked with Lieutenant County and other hats that I have but as I told
[17:44]
Mrs. Gover earlier the funding has shifted a little bit to focus on opioid prevention and they're
[17:52]
allowing you to spend even more time in schools and taking some of my other duties away so my goal is to
[17:57]
be in each county school at least once a week. Oh that's and so we're at it before it was just a
[18:02]
couple times a month. Anyway I asked this go over to just give me a few seconds to let you
[18:07]
guys know and remind the rest of you that if you have something for me to do put me in. I mean I
[18:15]
want to interrupt especially for the teachers that have little you know I don't like popping in
[18:20]
and you can just like, woo.
[18:22]
But the high school, what's that?
[18:26]
Yeah, scheduled stuff would be best.
[18:28]
It's for the littles, just to be respectful for your passion.
[18:31]
But for the high schoolers, I pop in and out.
[18:35]
Forks, I really want to be on a chain game.
[18:39]
But I think my chain-up.
[18:42]
Listen, Linda, listen, Linda.
[18:45]
So I check the schedule in every home game.
[18:49]
My son has a game. Oh, and Baker is just seeing this year. Well, that's fine. He's gonna make one of his I know
[18:56]
But no way because I'm all in here. I I will something happens. I'm in okay, but I'm talking to Bobby yet
[19:05]
Okay, I'll get bobby, but that's that's all me. I like doing that stuff. I want to fair all this stuff. I don't know right now, but
[19:14]
If anything is related to drugs, especially opioids
[19:18]
I need you to talk to me, because I would love, I have some ideas, I'm going to be doing
[19:22]
a thing for staff later, but don't leave me out, because I really love spending time
[19:28]
to take the talk you guys up all the time, and that's not it.
[19:31]
Just lift service.
[19:32]
I really do.
[19:33]
You guys have a special place here?
[19:36]
I'm on my way to, just to give you an example, I'm on my way to touch fast to help with
[19:42]
So it doesn't all have to be like regular cop stuff.
[19:46]
I did fair and all the things.
[19:50]
So he sends me pictures all the time.
[19:53]
Hey, what your praying needle kids, and they're all fair and basketball games.
[19:57]
And you think so proud of these guys.
[19:59]
Yeah, and then we go to powder or hunting tent and I see fine needle.
[20:02]
We're just talking about what's meant.
[20:04]
And what we're just talking about the schedules.
[20:07]
And I have all the county schools and whenever they overlap,
[20:10]
I try to hit that so that I can, you know, be there for especially away games to to North China could be kind of rough.
[20:18]
So I always try to go to those for sure.
[20:21]
And I bring my family up friends of, you know, it's not just the work thing.
[20:26]
So everybody knows this, but you guys, I'll get you to get a chance to get to.
[20:33]
But and I used to work a lot with Stephanie Peterson in their class.
[20:37]
So I'll probably be bugging you a lot.
[20:40]
Physicians can't assist you.
[20:42]
All right.
[20:43]
Okay.
[20:44]
We need to talk.
[20:45]
You need to do some more.
[20:46]
I'm bilingual so we could do some.
[20:48]
Spanish some Mexican food or something.
[20:50]
I heard them today.
[20:51]
They really need help.
[20:52]
I don't know.
[20:54]
Anyway, that's all I have.
[20:56]
Is any question?
[20:58]
I feel like we should share these pictures of you showing that land.
[21:01]
Oh, yeah.
[21:06]
So yeah, so I'm at the camper because we can't for fair and I'm at the camper. I'm
[21:17]
having my barbecue going. I'd already taken off, you know, my shirt, my button. I'm
[21:22]
sure that camp can't close and I get this phone call from Maddie. And Maddie is like,
[21:29]
hey, you're going to come down and announce, don't show me shit. What? I can't. We need
[21:33]
you come down and announce we're doing this and that the second is the back and
[21:37]
yeah hurry I'm like I need to burn chicken right okay I was there three minutes
[21:42]
and next I know in the middle of announcing a turkey barrel what was it and red
[21:47]
barrels for turkey yeah it was pretty hot kids love yeah don't show those pigs
[21:54]
anywhere right somebody put me down to show a sheet that's there and will embarrass
[21:59]
so I didn't get finals, as I should try in this year.
[22:02]
I ain't very hard, if you documented right, huh?
[22:05]
Last year I didn't try at all.
[22:06]
This year I was really trying to make it different.
[22:09]
The Canada and I still have to talk.
[22:12]
It's terrible.
[22:14]
She did me a favor by not calling me back.
[22:17]
So you said you're finally low,
[22:19]
so that's something you can come into a great deal with your fans?
[22:24]
Yeah, I can, people have a Spanish book for me to read.
[22:26]
I was reading, say, okay, don't manage them.
[22:28]
or you can find on or whatever, I'm going to do that.
[22:32]
Okay.
[22:32]
Whatever you need.
[22:34]
My email, or you get a hold of me,
[22:36]
or a few minutes later.
[22:39]
Yeah.
[22:40]
Big mark.
[22:40]
That's okay.
[22:41]
Okay.
[22:42]
Thank you.
[22:42]
Thank you.
[22:46]
Okay.
[22:48]
I'm talking about the O-Tren representative.
[22:51]
It was Mr. Taylor and then it was Stephanie.
[22:54]
And now Ashley and Kara has
[22:57]
is taking over the spot and is excited to represent us.
[23:02]
And so she could be here tonight, but if when she goes
[23:07]
to those meetings, she's talking about the things
[23:10]
that our staff need and the programs that they have
[23:16]
that we take advantage of and why it works and what we love.
[23:20]
And so the feedback to her about the rent offerings
[23:24]
is really important so then she can have things to talk about and having a voice from out
[23:30]
in a sixth is really important and they want it and so if you have any feedback about that,
[23:37]
she's your new gal and she'll be giving us updates when she returns from those sessions and so
[23:46]
she's your point of contact. All right, okay. The Pete Milson called me representing the
[23:54]
the Peef group and here are the new board members and Andrea Bryan, Shannon Nielsen, Sydney
[24:03]
Johnson and Alicia Williams and so they're wanting to screw up feedback from us.
[24:11]
They love us very much.
[24:12]
They're very proud of us and are excited to support us however they can and so the big thing
[24:19]
is that so on October 15th we have the Portland Opera coming to us and that's already set
[24:25]
and people are in all scheduled. So the question that they're asking is what about in this spring?
[24:33]
They like to have it where it's not something that is like a they want it to be a planned set
[24:40]
thing that we then in the fall we have Portland Opera and then the spring we have whatever.
[24:45]
And so she's asking, she wants our feedback about if we would prefer what our interest is
[24:54]
in, the Mizzoula children's theater, or Amzi, and what we prefer.
[25:01]
She said the Mizzoula children's theater is more expensive and it sounds like there's
[25:06]
two different offerings.
[25:08]
One is where they end up, they work all week and they end up doing a big production.
[25:11]
We've seen this before.
[25:12]
The other is, it sounds like it's less of an overall production and more of a,
[25:18]
do you call that?
[25:20]
What do you remember, what were I used today?
[25:22]
Workshop.
[25:23]
Yeah, it's more of a workshop model.
[25:25]
So I think it's whether, you know,
[25:27]
if the kids have an opportunity to work with the actors and actresses to learn skills.
[25:32]
And so I'm not really clear on what that looks like.
[25:34]
And if there is some sort of mini production or what,
[25:37]
sounds like that option is a little bit cheaper,
[25:40]
but they're wanting our feedback.
[25:43]
And to see what is interesting to us and and then some dates and rough times that they can plan for. So what are some thoughts you guys have?
[25:54]
I'm seeing him last year, the art, I mean the science.
[26:00]
Been a little while.
[26:01]
We did a scene of stories, we've done that two, two years in a row.
[26:07]
Which is science.
[26:10]
Yeah, I think on Z did come and I think it was in conjunction with pasties in the stories the first year.
[26:19]
Oh, yeah, you're right.
[26:20]
Yes, you're right.
[26:22]
Yeah.
[26:24]
Yeah.
[26:26]
Yeah.
[26:27]
And so we've had on Z for a few times.
[26:29]
There used to be people.
[26:31]
And we'd have OMSI one year in the Zulu Children's Theater, the second year, and the alternate
[26:37]
those.
[26:38]
And we used to do big, big OMSI events, but I don't know if OMSI does those big events anymore
[26:43]
maybe they are again.
[26:45]
And so kind of alternated, which was fun for the kids because it would get, they'd all be
[26:51]
excited, but obviously some are more excited about one than the other.
[26:54]
Right?
[26:58]
Put some thoughts.
[26:59]
What are your feedback?
[27:00]
It'll be interesting to know what kind of a presentation it's going to bring.
[27:03]
It was always fun when we were kids.
[27:05]
They brought tapes and set up different stations.
[27:10]
And that it's just gonna be, you know,
[27:13]
a brief presentation that's not the dream.
[27:18]
And it's very engaging.
[27:20]
I just wanna know what kind of thing.
[27:23]
Yeah, I think it was not, if it is,
[27:25]
just like it was for scenes and stories.
[27:28]
I thought that was a nice baby conjunction.
[27:31]
Especially, I guess he's not here,
[27:33]
but I don't know if it was nice for her.
[27:35]
But I'd seen like maybe it was not as much work for her potentially, which might be nice
[27:41]
to support that if it's not as so that we have that option for asking for a good clumsy.
[27:55]
I
[27:59]
think maybe I'm wrong, but I was under the impression that when we brought clumsy and that it was
[28:05]
to be supportive.
[28:06]
It was good.
[28:07]
Yeah.
[28:09]
Yeah.
[28:10]
Are there other options?
[28:12]
Those are the ones that she presented to me.
[28:18]
I think if you'd like to focus in around.
[28:20]
We see things.
[28:21]
That.
[28:22]
So there's a traveling.
[28:25]
I'm not.
[28:26]
I think too.
[28:27]
The Mizzoula thing.
[28:28]
I've not seen it.
[28:29]
That piece of it.
[28:30]
But I think that Cassie's trying so hard and there's so many kids that are involved.
[28:35]
with the theater thing that it might be a good bonus to those kids in that program, something
[28:44]
different.
[28:44]
For the Missoula, to bring Missoula, we're seeing as stories is awesome, but the Missoula
[28:49]
thing is just very different, and it just taps into that group of kids that we've seen for
[28:54]
a long time that are finally involved in things.
[28:57]
There's a lot of fun when we were little because they can cast a lot more as a little catch
[29:02]
So I don't see a whole lot of engagement.
[29:07]
Also, I guess you bring up a point that we have the middle school and high school steam offerings.
[29:14]
More consistently this year. Yeah.
[29:18]
Not hearing any. Yeah, please.
[29:21]
Well, I was just thinking that I think Missoula is awesome.
[29:26]
I'm not really sure. I guess I'd like to hear from Cassie like how she feels since she's doing.
[29:31]
the theater group, you know, which she rather, you know, but does she see that as a great
[29:37]
option for kids versus like what she's already offering or would that just be, I don't know,
[29:48]
it's, it's, for my experience with it, I thought it was great. It's a lot of fun, but also it's
[29:55]
just want me. So there's, I don't know, there's
[30:32]
Okay. Okay.
[30:38]
Okay.
[30:47]
Okay. I'll find out. I'll find out. We'll be thinking about it if you want to. We'll be thinking about it if you want to.
[30:50]
If you have any other input or questions or want to be involved in helping make the decision
[30:54]
just buzz me.
[30:56]
I'll talk to Cassie and maybe we can come together and talk about the theater stuff and
[31:01]
okay.
[31:04]
Okay.
[31:05]
Oh, Bodie and you're here.
[31:06]
Do you want to talk about the ABC grant or the...
[31:09]
So,
[31:15]
it's great to have this program in the heart project and then reach out because there's
[31:21]
going to be a student showcase.
[31:24]
We have different scrolls and we put them in.
[31:26]
And so there's invited us to sit in the artwork.
[31:31]
I have an assistant which has been organized all the stencils are, there has to be two in you.
[31:37]
And eight, eight inches by eight entries for student work.
[31:43]
And so if you guys have classes that are interested in doing art, and so what are you going to do?
[31:50]
And it is going to be like in the big gallery at the art center.
[31:54]
And so it could be a good opportunity for us to get to do anything.
[32:02]
So if you're interested in that, let me know what I told you that I would share the info class.
[32:06]
So everybody's going to do it, and I'm also happy to help facilitate the art to the center.
[32:14]
It is just going to be seated by the side of the room.
[32:19]
And I was hoping to learn about this particular opportunity to reach out to Pete.
[32:24]
I was really lucky to be seated there.
[32:26]
We didn't really start our art.
[32:29]
There were trips in the past, but there were a lot of it.
[32:33]
And so I think there's some research itself.
[32:38]
And melody is amazing.
[32:43]
Some of you might remember that Ashley did it a couple years ago.
[32:46]
A watercolor and they can be rematted and she took them out.
[32:50]
So, very cool.
[32:51]
Okay, thank you, Bodine.
[32:54]
All right, Lana and Alicia.
[32:57]
You're up.
[32:58]
Okay.
[32:59]
Ready for your spreadsheet?
[33:00]
Yay, Lana.
[33:02]
The
[33:08]
teachers taking attendance.
[33:11]
I love it.
[33:12]
So we're making it happen.
[33:13]
So the last two weeks have been, um, are you ready for your spreadsheet?
[33:18]
Not yet.
[33:19]
I thought I'll just, I'll practice tracking and see how we're going to do it and work out
[33:23]
the details and at least I'm going to have a system.
[33:26]
So I'll tell you every Monday, I'm going to check the whole last week and all I'm going
[33:32]
to check is it can be the time of all your time in every single day.
[33:35]
And if you did it for the whole year and you'll get free on the shirt and if you didn't
[33:41]
you get an accent we say, oh, keep trying.
[33:44]
Keep trying.
[33:47]
And so this was my practice two weeks.
[33:49]
That's the day in which we're going to talk.
[33:51]
Dance it in.
[33:52]
Dance it in.
[33:54]
This was supposed to be like whatever,
[33:55]
but you had a teacher.
[33:57]
Oh, I know.
[33:57]
Oh, Jim.
[33:58]
I said it's him.
[33:59]
I'm just going to go in.
[34:05]
Great.
[34:06]
Oh.
[34:06]
I'm going to
[34:17]
go in.
[34:19]
That's me.
[34:19]
I'll bring up the chart.
[34:21]
And we'll see how everybody's doing.
[34:22]
and the Smiths also closed.
[34:26]
Actually, yeah, it was a lot, really close.
[34:29]
Even though you're attendants,
[34:31]
and maybe you don't get something to get.
[34:34]
And if something doesn't look quite right,
[34:36]
and you're like, wait a minute, talk to Alicia.
[34:39]
I'm off.
[34:40]
Hey, hands.
[34:42]
Wait a minute.
[34:45]
Wait a minute.
[34:46]
Shake it, it's coffee, you'll walk.
[34:49]
Oh, I got it.
[35:08]
Yeah,
[35:13]
especially if you have to make that phone call and then there it to be long and you're calling home, but they get it there, but there are.
[35:21]
Yeah, I know for days, but then you guys and for
[35:27]
our time.
[35:31]
Well, I appreciate you guys coming up with the challenge.
[35:34]
Very fun.
[35:36]
Okay, a couple quick reminders, teacher reimbursement and time sheets, make sure they are timely so if you're looking for if you've spent money, get them submitted, don't just stay on to them so they can get them processed time sheets.
[35:48]
You know when they do just make sure you get them turned in so again, so it makes their processing quicker.
[35:55]
Goal meetings is time. Reach out, set an appointment. You can either do by email or
[36:01]
going to our calendars and find any time to force both of us. And that'll be still fun.
[36:08]
It's a great grant writing recipient process. Right, some of you have talked to me about
[36:16]
writing grants and we love that. What I would love to do though is sit down with you and
[36:23]
kind of look at the grant together. We get, we've are audited every year on our finances and
[36:30]
sometimes they pull how did we manage grants, right? And so then we have to go through and
[36:36]
do all of that process and we don't want any issues there. We want you to do grants but let's kind
[36:41]
of get together and if you're ambitious enough to do it, let's get together. Let's talk through it
[36:47]
and make sure that we're all on the same page on how all that works and then I can support you.
[36:53]
anyway, the aim is for it to get that done.
[36:56]
So I'm excited about a couple of people
[36:59]
that are possibly about it.
[37:00]
So I think it'll be good.
[37:03]
OK, work samples, just a reminder.
[37:05]
One work sample per semester.
[37:07]
I'm elementary teacher's plan ahead.
[37:09]
You know, if you can coordinate and double that,
[37:12]
but work sample with two different speaking
[37:14]
and whatever.
[37:16]
But so let's get creative.
[37:18]
But if you're planning ahead, then
[37:20]
and then do them sooner than just right there at the end
[37:23]
that makes it all much easier.
[37:24]
So if you want to talk about that, that's great.
[37:29]
We're just telling us for what do the great students do.
[37:36]
There's a writing, speaking, science, and math.
[37:42]
May I miss you one?
[37:43]
Maybe.
[37:44]
And is it a presentation?
[37:46]
Is it a, anyway,
[37:48]
I like it.
[37:49]
I like it.
[37:50]
I feel like you talk about it at the next meeting.
[37:52]
Okay.
[37:52]
Okay.
[37:55]
Okay.
[37:55]
Next week.
[37:56]
Okay.
[37:57]
Words about students.
[37:58]
Just a reminder.
[38:00]
Words to students and about students matter.
[38:03]
And how you speak about students and the kids that you work with.
[38:08]
It matters.
[38:10]
And, and so we thought full about the positivity.
[38:14]
If you are frustrated and you need to vent.
[38:17]
come talk to us, come vent because that's all normal and healthy. But the idea of how
[38:26]
you communicate about and to the students really really matters. And so just a reminder about that.
[38:36]
Yeah, do you think that anyone else can add about that?
[38:41]
Yeah, what we say to each other and
[38:43]
about kids, yeah. All right, in-service is coming up. On the calendar, it is October 4th,
[38:52]
but like in the past, we keep that day open, that in-service is that right or is it the third?
[39:00]
Well, maybe it's the third. Maybe I did it right, rolled it over. Maybe someone could check that for me.
[39:07]
Regardless, we keep that this time open. It's national, statewide in-service.
[39:13]
And so you have a couple options. Option number one is the IMSD professional development
[39:20]
summit is on the 10th and help and they're coming out with the offering soon. I was hoping I'd
[39:27]
think they'd get them to me by this meeting but they have come in yet. But so so know that they have
[39:33]
their big huge offerings like always and so we can watch for that. Also the mount here ESD
[39:41]
is, um, I'm pretty sure it's on the third. I don't know what's up with my dates.
[39:46]
It's third. Part is third. Okay. Whoever's on this document, can you, or maybe it's someone that's not.
[39:52]
Anyways, it doesn't matter. Um, thank you. Um, not here. And those are posted. And also that link is
[40:01]
live. And so if you go to not here, one, you can see all their offerings for that day.
[40:06]
If none of those things speak to you and you have some very clear things that you want
[40:12]
to take care of and want you to do to support your craft, you can talk to myself or
[40:19]
Kami and then there's a recording sheet here that you can record your plan.
[40:25]
So everyone needs to record their plan.
[40:27]
So if there's a pile that's going to Pendleton, we'll coordinate transportation.
[40:31]
If a bunch of people want to go to Mount Here or coordinate, if you're staying on campus,
[40:34]
And there's a spot on the report sheet to say what you're going to do on your plan.
[40:40]
So this is a reminder this is in the sort of this is one of the contract days for certified staff.
[40:49]
Classified staff, it's not a requirement for you. If there is something that you want to do, we can discuss that.
[40:55]
All right, anything else about in service?
[41:06]
All right, student-led conferences are, I don't know why it's this case.
[41:13]
Student-led conferences are on the 28th and 29th.
[41:16]
And so my proposal is to do them like we've had in the past.
[41:20]
And so here are the links to those scripts for students to fill out.
[41:29]
Any thoughts about that?
[41:36]
We will have an October staff meeting.
[41:39]
So we'll circle around about that in October beforehand.
[41:43]
And then we'll identify who's going to deal with which class.
[41:46]
and prep them for each class.
[41:51]
Okay, I think that's the thing.
[41:53]
Well, it's obviously all I have today.
[41:55]
And anybody else has things to talk about that.
[41:58]
We were hoping we would reveal something on your mind.
[42:03]
Have some things.
[42:05]
The first few weeks are mainly the toughest, right?
[42:09]
Coming in, everybody's excited,
[42:11]
but then we have a great weekend,
[42:13]
which we all are very busy.
[42:15]
And it's exhausting.
[42:17]
And then we come back for this whole week of Tuesday through Friday, and then so many
[42:24]
of us are busy all weekend, great volleyball tournament, having had a volleyball tournament
[42:31]
here at the job ladies, forgetting that going for 10 years I think it's been since we had
[42:36]
a volleyball tournament.
[42:38]
And so I thought, well, many of us were here for that, and also many of us volunteered
[42:44]
to find best. Or is this how to get found best? So both things are exhausting. So now we're back
[42:50]
into it. Kids are ill, it's already starting to go around. So use your hand sanitizer, wipe stuff
[42:57]
down. Some of our custodial staff has been sick and we haven't, we've had a hard time with
[43:04]
selves. And so just kind of be thankful for them and patients think that your room is not as
[43:11]
They normally is. They're really just trying to get the surfaces and the major things, but hopefully that kind of just.
[43:19]
And then a huge shout out to Jessica and her team Katie and Jen and Jessica, the gold ones are sub and.
[43:29]
Joanne, they've been just blustin' it down there with our special needs kiddos that just
[43:35]
struggle, and any change, any amount of change is difficult for those guys, and they've
[43:42]
just persevered and have had, so not a chance to have had the hard days and have learned
[43:48]
from those days they're adjusting, and they've done everything they can because there are no
[43:53]
right answer when you're in your Finland kiddos that struggle like that. And I just appreciate
[43:59]
the effort and the patience and all that you guys have put into supporting those kids through
[44:06]
these first couple of weeks. And you can see, you know, if you've been down there much,
[44:11]
though, the view in that way and it's a much quieter today. And so all that hard work is
[44:17]
and the amount of noise in the hallway. So, way to go, ladies.
[44:23]
Yep. I do have a question. Um, are we having something like community
[44:30]
when the lights, when we have a light? We are. Okay. We are. We are. When
[44:34]
big-cell breaks. Yes, we're going to do, we have not
[44:39]
we haven't planned that yet, but we do plan to do this whole thing. Yes. I think that'll be great.
[44:43]
I think just getting the community together, you know, there was a lot of people
[44:46]
for the football game the other day. There's a lot of energy the boys are playing well and I think
[44:50]
that that like it's just going to be I'm happy to help. We've got a volunteer support.
[45:03]
So, just cross your fingers for a permit. We thought we were going to give stay and have it. So, if we do get it, we, we, the, the trains coming Wednesday. So, it's gone basically told the lady, you need to get this fast because the free to put it Wednesday because that's these polls. So, please just give us the permits so we can do it.
[45:28]
Okay. What else?
[45:33]
Okay.
[45:33]
Okay, quite a bunch today.
[45:37]
Okay, so we will adjourn this meeting
[45:40]
and we'll move on and have high school success meeting.
[45:43]
Ash is not here, so let's meet in her room.
[45:45]
Right, hold on.
[45:47]
All right.
[45:48]
So right now she's in my big best and we'll project in there.
[45:52]
Yes.
[45:53]
Okay.
[45:54]
It's a light.
[45:55]
Yeah, it's a light.
