[5:54] your application has been selected for participation in the 2026 Invest in Cook

[5:58] program. In a nutshell, it's $250,000 and this is going to be to do the

[6:03] sidewalk on Kedzie Avenue from 145th. Hopefully, we can make it to the

[6:08] laundromat with the $250,000. We're going to start in the next week or two

[6:13] with Palos Construction. We're going to do the sidewalk on 145 to go from where

[6:17] the alley would be to Kedzie. Cuz that's that's ours and that's not

[6:21] really the Kedzie area. So, I want to get it so you can make that whole walk

[6:25] from Albany and Whipple all the way down to 148th when it's done next year with

[6:31] the other issue. The reason we're doing that

[6:33] is a couple people have gotten killed by cars there on Kedzie. Just the other

[6:37] day, the chief and I were driving and there's a lady just walking

[6:41] senselessly on Kedzie northbound. And I could see the urgency for a

[6:45] sidewalk. It's needed. Somebody Unfortunately, we may have another

[6:49] fatality and we don't want that. So, thank God, thank for the county. We're

[6:52] waiting for the Invest in Cook, which we put in for a half a million. We should

[6:56] know about that any day. Um CDBG. I'm sorry. And then also, we

[7:01] were we're happy to announce that we've got the

[7:05] $10,000 grant for from ComEd. And that's going to be

[7:09] for a couple of those flashing speed signs that we're going to put by the

[7:12] schools. And I think they're about 2,500 a piece.

[7:16] » Yeah, something like that. >> So, So, we're going to try to do four.

[7:19] Cuz like on California, we can do one on 146 and we can do one

[7:24] on California and then we can do it down by the Pulaski school. So, we're trying

[7:27] to get things moved around so everybody's got safety issues with

[7:30] speed. So, that's that's all good news and that

[7:33] all came about out of nowhere. We were happy.

[7:41] Uh Orkes Paving will be here Thursday, Friday, Saturday. We're going to finish

[7:44] the west side of town this week. By Saturday afternoon, they said they'll

[7:55] everybody before. And then within a week after that, cuz they have other jobs,

[7:58] they'll be on the east side for 3 weeks.

[8:02] And Palosa and Tom from Evergreen Mechanical, he's finishing

[8:08] tomorrow with his last alley. We have one alley we got to check and that's

[8:11] over on the 14200 block of Lane. That's where we have one of those big French

[8:15] drains. And if we can connect to that, everybody with French drains will be

[8:19] happy. So will public works so they don't have to go out and flush them out

[8:22] after we have heavy rains. And even last night with all that heavy

[8:26] rain, the chief and I were out and about checking everything after the rains. All

[8:30] the alleys looked amazing. I I just I don't know why, but they're they look

[8:34] great. The sewers are helping. We had no flooding issues or no complaints from

[8:38] anybody. We got about 3 inches of rain. So that, you know, an inch to 3 inches,

[8:43] we're good. We start getting 4 to 8 inches, we're in trouble. Everybody's in

[8:46] trouble. So many municipalities flooded yesterday. So it's just something that

[8:51] sometimes Mother Nature gets a little rough on us.

[12:31] talks to you and it's just it's nice. It's something that you see in Wisconsin

[12:35] Dells. So, it's really nice. And they got the air conditioning

[19:41] WRD. So, if we get our retention pond that we want over on west side of town,

[19:46] those 12 acres, if we get that five or six acres, that's huge. That takes all

[19:49] that water load away from us there. And then I have a meeting with State

[19:53] Representative Rita and um Senator Jones. Those are a couple of our

[19:58] state legislators. And we're meeting Thursday here at 1:00. And those are

[20:04] that's the biggest issue I have. Besides getting some funding from them, which I

[20:07] know they're going to help us with, and the WRD, I want to do

[20:12] Blaine, Cleveland, and Harrison from Veterans Parkway or 147, if you will,

[20:16] because of Harrison, all the way to 150th Street. We want to separate all

[20:20] our storm water from combination sewers there and run them right into that

[20:24] retention pond with the tristate. And that's why I meet

[20:27] with the legislators because MWRD hasn't been successful with the

[20:31] toll road. So, I think with these two guys we can get a bigger push cuz I know

[20:35] that State Rep Rita is on that board with the toll road.

[20:39] So, I think he can help. Plus, it's not much water we want to do, but

[20:42] when we have heavy storms, I bet you it's a million gallons of fresh water

[20:46] that has to go to the lift station. That has to go all the way down Harrison

[20:49] where it's met from everything from the west side that comes from 145th and

[20:53] Whipple, under 294 to Harrison. Then it goes north to 139th Street.

[20:58] These are things we want to eliminate to take all that pressure off of our system

[21:02] on the east side until we can do something on 143rd along the toll road.

[21:07] So, it's it's a work in progress. It's good work in progress.

[21:11] Um Pedro Ortiz tells me that for sure. Chris Burke from Burke Engineering will

[21:15] be contracted to start in August to start doing

[21:18] the big mappings and everything. And these these two projects are being paid

[21:21] for by MWRD. And that's good because if we do that on

[21:25] Markham's side at 150th taxiway land, there's probably about a half million

[21:30] dollars in trees that have to come down. We looked at that today.

[22:43] double. And it's horrible, and it's

[22:47] I don't know if it's El Niño or what it is, but it's horrible this year. It was

[22:50] just on the news before I came here today. 57 tornadoes in our area.

[22:54] And we never have that. So, it's just Mother Nature eating that

[22:59] she's having a bad year, I guess. But let's just pray it stops.

[23:03] But, for instance, kind of by your alley,

[23:06] we're going to do about 200 ft from the north to meet that sewer.
