Hello, welcome to our meeting. August 11th. We're going to start at 507. We'll begin with our roll call. So, Mary and Clyde. Here. Katie, Pierrienton, here. Holly, click, here, and be Irene Summers. And then we'll excuse Melvin. Rodriguez and Jason, aye, you. May we send anyone else? Oh, and Sarah, press switch. They might be joining us.
[0:33]
a little later.
[0:38]
Okay, let's start off by approving our last board minutes from July 14, 2026.
[0:46]
Can I get someone to make a motion for that?
[0:53]
I'm not going to have a person.
[0:57]
I second. Perfect. Thank you.
[1:04]
All in favor?
[1:08]
Okay,
[1:11]
today's meeting we were going to go over our committee reports. So Katie, I'm going to go ahead and let you kind of talk about what we've been talking about in our marketing, marketing meetings and the development of what we've decided to do.
[1:27]
Okay, we were just talking about social media and how we should be posting more and getting
[1:33]
the word out so we can get more people signing up for the school.
[1:40]
So our kickoff we've decided is August 17th, which we purposely did that around the first
[1:46]
day of school.
[1:47]
So our plan is to do a one year countdown, beginning August 17th, and then we'll start
[1:59]
created in the newsletter, it will break down what are were continued communication with
[2:08]
the families, what they can expect going forward.
[2:13]
Which leads me to a question for Crystal and Brad.
[2:18]
I know, and maybe this is a question for our building committee on Thursday, but when would
[2:23]
we be able to, are we at the point where we can release the address, like we've already
[2:31]
kind of released, it's in this location, particular location, but we haven't been specific
[2:36]
about where.
[2:41]
I'd follow Sheldon's lead on that. Have I
[2:44]
been addressed, you mean just like the cross streets? Yeah, I don't believe we've been
[2:49]
pretty we've been specific about that. Another charter school that is in the same phase as us.
[2:56]
I brought this up a few months ago. They wanted to kind of work as a team, kind of like feedback,
[3:01]
like how's it going in with what you're doing. And they had mentioned that they were able to release
[3:06]
an address and their numbers just skyrocketed. She said they doubled. And then she also released
[3:15]
pictures of what the school will look like and so she did mention you know that
[3:20]
might have been a little premature because their location might change but
[3:24]
just trying to continue to create excitement around our school how to
[3:29]
retain who we have. Yeah I would definitely either ask Sheldon on Thursday or for
[3:35]
we could just shoot him a text. Okay. I can text him right now just to see. Okay and
[3:42]
I believe I've asked this before in our building meetings, but we also didn't want to jump the gun because I know there's some legal things before.
[3:54]
Yeah, and I know we don't have an address address. We do have crossroads, right, but that is one thing we're waiting on on our end for a few of like the systems.
[4:02]
We have to have a physical address before we can get things like an information system going and all of that.
[4:08]
So once those things are solidified, we can start moving forward in those, but we don't anticipate needing to do that until closer to the end of the calendar year.
[4:20]
So we're still in really good shape on those kind of systems, but we're not having an address yet, but.
[4:26]
Yeah, even the crossdress, that is different.
[4:33]
Jay, we were just talking about wanting to release the area,
[4:39]
like we've released the city, but not necessarily, like,
[4:42]
this is the area with the picture of the site type of thing.
[4:47]
Another charter school had that wanted to, like, kind of compare notes and work with us
[4:52]
a little bit here and there, who's also in the same process,
[4:55]
as mentioned that once they release that information,
[4:58]
their numbers doubled.
[4:59]
And so I just wanted to get confirmation.
[5:01]
We don't want to sense something out
[5:03]
and then have to change our minds.
[5:05]
So we do want to make sure we're being responsible
[5:08]
about the information.
[5:12]
Let's do it.
[5:20]
Let's see, Katie, can you think of anything else
[5:21]
we talked about?
[5:22]
We're going to send two posts out a week.
[5:26]
We're working on the content right now.
[5:28]
Yeah, I'm just the newsletter that you touched on.
[5:37]
I think that was all. I know in the past we've talked about advertising in Eagle Mountain,
[5:44]
but I don't know if we talked about that last meeting. Yeah, we did talk about sending out those
[5:50]
mailers and deciding when a good time to do that. I know two meetings ago, our Marketing Committee was
[5:58]
thinking that was a little premature, but after talking with this other school, I've realized
[6:03]
You know, their numbers have doubled and gone up since then, so maybe the answer is to be a little bit more aggressive with our marketing.
[6:14]
And so she's thinking about sending those millers out at the end of the month or September.
[6:21]
I was still looking to the billboards in Eagle Mountain with the Chamber of Commerce.
[6:27]
Oh, yes, we did talk about that. That's great.
[6:29]
Can you leave that Katie? Yeah, I'm running them right now. Okay, Mary, do you say Chamber of
[6:37]
Congress? Yeah, Eagle Mountain. Yes. Eagle Mountain has a ton of Facebook pages, community
[6:44]
of Facebook pages. There's a ton that we can get on. It's a spread of the word.
[6:53]
Yeah, hey,
[6:55]
currently we're just doing it on our own. That's good to add to those other, be a part of those
[7:00]
other places. Katie, the website that you're going to want to go to is valleycrossroads.com.
[7:09]
Okay. Thank you. That's Eagle Mountains Chamber of Commerce. Okay.
[7:20]
Katie and Irene, just
[7:21]
remember when you guys make a post especially on favorite tag all of us. Yeah. So that we could
[7:28]
share it as well.
[7:34]
Okay.
[7:38]
That's the update we have on marketing. Great. Good plan guys.
[7:45]
So we can have a goal to get that bill because that will be the fastest thing that can go up.
[7:56]
And probably the cheapest thing that can go up. I do know they have a discount for nonprofits.
[8:00]
And so maybe you guys can make a goal to have that up by what is I think August.
[8:07]
Maybe the end of the month or at least have the process going.
[8:13]
Yeah, I think that's great. So I think our launch date of August 17th. So that's still, that's that works within that time frame. So that'll be good. That's a good goal Katie.
[8:26]
So it was me into my next question. I don't know if it's appropriate to talk here or not, but about the lottery. Did we ever figure out how to do that?
[8:37]
yes crystal um crystal you can speak to that if you want but was there like
[8:42]
certain you can only what do you call them? Do you call them? No it wasn't
[8:46]
poppin enrolments yeah like you see it's done right now and then wait a few
[8:51]
months to do another round oh they're rounds I think we're not starting to
[8:55]
January though right yeah ideally you'd start about that time that's what we see
[8:59]
most schools start. Yeah,
[9:03]
those thing you would be opposed about getting, not getting ready, but
[9:07]
January, okay. Yeah. One thing you can do is if you want to meet as the marketing committee and
[9:13]
decide what days in January you want to do that then you could start posting those dates for like
[9:19]
our open enrollment will be held on this day and that'll drive up a little bit of us.
[9:24]
So you could set that schedule of we're going to have our first lottery pull here and our second and
[9:28]
our third. Get in now before you know yeah okay thank you yeah and I believe we have to post
[9:38]
those dates 60 days in advance for the first one at least so we probably want to decide that by
[9:45]
you know end of October November what your dates are which is really good for you guys
[9:51]
is marketing deadline of August I mean um beginning um so you can drive a lot of interest before that
[9:59]
first lottery.
[10:05]
Yeah.
[10:08]
I mean, right now we're one year away from opening. Yeah. Okay, one. So
[10:13]
we've got to hit it. Yeah.
[10:21]
And another thing we can discuss in our marketing committee, but we
[10:25]
could bring up here is at some point in crystal maybe you can help us with this is having those meet
[10:32]
in greets.
[10:39]
Yep, you can do meet in greets. I'd advise maybe in the springtime doing more boosts
[10:43]
you guys set up for those farmers markets, maybe reaching out to some grocery stores in the spring,
[10:49]
see if you can set up outside, hand out flyers, things like that. Maybe even advertise on grocery
[10:55]
carts. A lot of schools do that. Oh, good idea. Yeah, didn't even think about that. Okay.
[11:06]
I'm sorry
[11:06]
about the dogs in the background. My neighborhood's gone crazy. I don't know if you guys can hear them,
[11:11]
but okay, good.
[11:16]
While you wait for Melvin,
[11:17]
Irene, do you want Brad to skip to budgeting and e-rate?
[11:21]
Yeah, that sounds great.
[11:26]
Brad, you're on mute.
[11:27]
Yeah, I know.
[11:28]
I just realized it.
[11:30]
All right, which should we want to tackle first?
[11:34]
I guess let's do budgeting updates since it's been a few weeks.
[11:37]
So I was able to go up to the finance authority meeting
[11:40]
on the 23rd of July, and I was glad I was there. As I think I had mentioned before, I was a little
[11:49]
worried. I know that finance authority really well, but they're taking over the revolving
[11:54]
loan committee, and I was a little worried about how they might look at all the applications
[12:00]
and discuss things, and I was glad I was there for Ripple, because for whatever reason they got
[12:06]
caught up in the application being written partly for salaries. And they didn't want to move it
[12:15]
forward because of that. Now, I was able to talk to them and let them know that it's not
[12:20]
uncommon for these revolving loans to be written for salaries. The basically schools have two sources
[12:29]
of income during this year's zero. One is the revolving loan and the other is the startup grant. And I
[12:35]
instead of they don't write it in the revolving mode,
[12:37]
they're writing it in the startup grant,
[12:38]
because you're not bringing on your lead director
[12:41]
or whoever's gonna run the school,
[12:44]
July 1st, you know, 40 days before you open for your students.
[12:48]
And they've gotten caught up, especially Sophia,
[12:52]
who's great, she's from the governor's office.
[12:54]
She was looking at salaries as an ongoing expense.
[12:58]
And she's like, well, I know it says ongoing expense
[13:01]
as I don't know salaries.
[13:02]
And so we were able to talk and voice
[13:04]
from the association supported me in that to let them know, like, no, salaries in year
[13:09]
zero. They're a startup cost. It's not uncommon. We can, you know, you can approve them and
[13:15]
not worry about a school that's that's writing it for that. And so once we kind of explain
[13:20]
that, they were good to go. So, you as Ripple were approved for the full amount. And, you know,
[13:29]
Irene could give this update. I don't want to step on her feet, but all of that paperwork
[13:33]
work got turned in. You must have found a notary Irene. I did. My bank has a notary.
[13:42]
Good. I was going to say we have some here, but we're a little far away.
[13:45]
We could have pulled it off and sounds like they got all your information.
[13:48]
And Diana is saying that we should expect the first disbursement of those funds on Friday.
[13:56]
Is that all just 14th? The biggest question now is I roll back.
[13:59]
is I'm guessing they'll send a check because the state has this weird vendor
[14:04]
thing where they have to send you a check first and you deposit it into your
[14:07]
account and then they compare that to the ACH form you've turned in and they
[14:12]
can ACH it from that point on. So with that we're not going to get the full amount
[14:17]
in this first allocation but we should get you know at least six figures. I'm not
[14:24]
sure I'd have to go back and see if it's 25% and then 50 and then 25 again or
[14:29]
50, 25 and 25. But I would expect this to receive a minimum of $125,000 this week. And then
[14:38]
it sounds like startup funds should get the first allocation in the end of August. And
[14:47]
same thing, I'm not sure, you know, with the one check coming out on the 14th, I'm not sure
[14:52]
they'll be able to verify the bank information by then. So again, it could be another check
[14:58]
being meld out to your home.
[15:00]
Irene and we'll just have to look for it from there. So, things are really good there. I actually, not knowing if we'd have to meet up to pick that up and get a notary. I have the reimbursement checks here for, you know, everyone that's turned in reimbursements, Irene, Melvin, Holly, and we can do whatever we need to with these. If you just want us to drop them in the mail, or if we can meet someone somewhere to drop them off, we can do either way, want to get those out to you as quickly as possible.
[15:28]
And yeah, from there, you can start discussing the things that you've written for in those startup funds and the revolving loan and make some of those decisions on when to start incurring some of those expenses everywhere from a lead director to marketing advertising and the other items that need to be purchased in the next year.
[15:52]
So that's kind of my update there. Any questions?
[15:55]
No, that sounds great.
[15:57]
Yeah, that's wonderful, thank you.
[15:59]
It's awesome.
[16:00]
Glad to see you guys start to get some money into the coffers and be
[16:05]
able to execute on your plan.
[16:08]
The other one that is a voting item, I don't know, I'm not sure there's
[16:11]
anything on the budgeting update to vote and discuss unless we're
[16:14]
going to vote on the loan documents.
[16:19]
I think they were already signed.
[16:21]
I'm not sure there's anything there.
[16:22]
E-rate eligibility. E-rate is some federal funding available to schools and
[16:31]
charter schools in particular and there's basically two categories of E-rate.
[16:35]
There's category one and category two. Category one is really getting your
[16:41]
broadband and things to the building. Category two is outfitting your building with
[16:47]
the things that are necessary to connect kids, devices to the internet, and I'm kind of
[16:54]
laughing because we're starting a school year where they don't want kids to have device
[16:57]
visiting phones in school. But it's really the items that are going to go in your building
[17:05]
to make it accessible, meaning your Wi-Fi access points, your networks, which is router,
[17:12]
cabling, things like that. It doesn't cover security cameras, you know, door access,
[17:19]
PA, intercom, TVs, those sorts of things, but it's really all of the
[17:24]
infrastructure that you need to run a network. The way it works and a number of
[17:29]
schools have done this, there's a consulting firm that we've used and trust
[17:36]
out there Kellogg and Sovereign and what the agreement would be is the agreement is they would work on
[17:43]
your paperwork and you work here along with really who's helping Emily now with the crystal.
[17:50]
Emily and Hannah. Emily and Hannah they're kind of the ones to work on it. They interface with Kellogg
[17:56]
and Sovereign to get them the information and it's very much on a contingency basis. If you get funding
[18:01]
a portion of it, a fee comes out of that. If not, I believe the amount's 500 bucks?
[18:08]
Yes.
[18:09]
Yeah, it's a very minimal amount. But the upside is, this past year, the amount of funding
[18:14]
was around $200 per student. And the way they do it is, it's basically whatever the funding
[18:21]
amount is, they'll give you 80% of that. Not meeting Kelly on seven takes the other part.
[18:27]
It's a formula that the feds use where it's like you know for round numbers if you're 500 students school and
[18:34]
You know 200 dollars per student you get a hundred thousand dollars, but they want you basically to contribute 20% of that
[18:41]
So you would get $80,000 from e-rate from the feds and then the other 20,000 is you know a contribution a match for lack of better term
[18:51]
From the school to you know to buy those items that that you're gonna need anyway to make
[18:57]
make your building work for your teachers and your students.
[19:01]
So it is a good deal.
[19:03]
A number of schools have gotten funds over the past couple of years.
[19:07]
Sir, he's arts academy, got some funds this past year for their South Campus.
[19:11]
I sent academies there in Saratoga Springs, got some a couple of years ago.
[19:16]
So it is something that we recommend that you enter into that agreement with Kelligan Sovereign.
[19:23]
The funds, again, they're not guaranteed.
[19:25]
they're always at the mercy of the federal government and how many other projects
[19:29]
they're funding, but it is very, very minimal risk.
[19:33]
You know, you may be out $500 to that consulting firm that does it,
[19:39]
but for the most part, we've had good success with schools going down this path
[19:44]
and trying to get some of that funding.
[19:53]
I say we'll go for it.
[19:57]
I agree.
[19:58]
Yeah, I agree.
[20:00]
Okay, those are kind of the two items and so I believe on that voting item you would just vote to execute that agreement or search or apply for that e-rate and then Hannah and Emily or whoever Christa will let them know and then they'll work getting whatever agreement needs to be signed together.
[20:22]
So maybe that and probably authorize Irene as board president to sign that that consulting agreement.
[20:33]
Okay great thank you. That's all I have must as other questions.
[20:39]
We're gonna put it to a vote right now.
[20:42]
Oh okay.
[20:46]
We have to do a motion.
[20:48]
That would be great yeah kind of what Brad said so a motion to engage in with E-rate and Kellogg and Solverne and Irene to execute.
[20:58]
Thank you. Any necessary agreements going to get a motion to approve what Crystal just said?
[21:06]
I second.
[21:07]
I approve or was it?
[21:12]
We just know.
[21:14]
All in favor.
[21:15]
Those are glitching.
[21:16]
Oh no.
[21:16]
I think I can't hear anything.
[21:19]
All in favor.
[21:22]
Hi.
[21:22]
Hi.
[21:26]
Are there any other funding things that we should be applying for?
[21:29]
trying to, you know, is anything else out there that's available that we should be trying for?
[21:36]
Not at this point in, you know, this year's zero, Jason. The next steps that that Irene and I
[21:43]
will be taking care of is we'll get you set up on what's called Utah grants. That's where all of
[21:49]
the restricted state grants and federal grants, such as Title I, Title II, and special ed money come
[21:55]
through but again schools don't receive that in their start-up year so it's
[21:59]
something you know we want to get done pretty quickly but we're not required to
[22:03]
do that those are kind of the main ones if there are any like one-offs if you
[22:08]
you know if any of you have any rich uncles that just want to give some money or
[22:13]
work for large corporations those might be ones but these are kind of the main
[22:17]
ones for for all schools or all all Utah-based charter schools that are out
[22:23]
there.
[22:27]
Did we talk about the grant that we got approved for with our application?
[22:34]
That
[22:34]
ones the start-up grant I mentioned that should receive the first funding round and
[22:38]
the end of August. Okay. Yeah. I the only other one I can think of and maybe you've discussed
[22:45]
it is the association has some money for like what do they call like an incubator or something
[22:53]
like that. And I know, you know, basically what it would do is assuming, and I want to make
[22:59]
assumptions that Irene's the director, it would pay her to go shadow a charter school. I know you've
[23:06]
been around charter schools, so I don't know if it's really valuable, but, you know, it's not necessarily
[23:11]
money to the school to use, however, I think it could just help offset the cost of your director in
[23:18]
that year one while they're they're learning on the job and I know they've been out hitting
[23:23]
up the the new startup schools with that and I don't know if Royce has talked to you
[23:28]
about that Irene but that would be the only one I could I could think of at this time obviously
[23:33]
they have their other CSP grant that they couldn't divide up in previous years they can divide
[23:38]
it up this year but I think we're past your eligibility to apply for that but I do know there's
[23:47]
the CSP grant. I know
[23:53]
there's a CSP grant coming available in September that we can reapply for.
[23:58]
Okay. If you can reapply for Brandon, it'll be all over it and I'm sure you're on the radar
[24:04]
if you're eligible. Yeah, the committee that we meet with the Utah Charter
[24:11]
that group had mentioned to me a couple of months ago that it would become available again in September.
[24:20]
That's great. And the advantage to this year is, in the past year, they had $2 million, but they were limited to who they could give it to or excuse me.
[24:29]
They had like $8 million and they were limited to $4 million, which is great if you can get it, but everyone's much more interested in dividing it up and making sure
[24:40]
a lot of people get, you know, a portion of it rather than a couple get all of it.
[24:45]
So if you are eligible this year, that's a great one to pursue too because they're going
[24:49]
to be able to chunk it up and to give, you know, instead of four schools to give, you
[24:55]
know, 10 to 15 schools, a significant amount of money.
[24:59]
So yeah, keep going with that.
[25:00]
We'll make sure if you are, I'll mention it to Brandon and if there's something that
[25:05]
needs, you know, whatever needs to be done there, we will be writing applications
[25:09]
for all the schools that are interested and eligible?
[25:15]
Okay, I can follow up with her on that one.
[25:18]
I looked it up, I'm not seeing anything yet,
[25:20]
but I was told that it would come available again in September.
[25:27]
I read Melvin's on now.
[25:30]
Oh, awesome. Melvin, are you ready for a design build update?
[25:39]
Yeah, sorry about that guys.
[25:41]
Work ran really late today.
[25:47]
Yeah, I mean, I guess I can kind of go off of like slightly few in a what
[25:55]
what kind of questions would you guys like are we we're currently in the engineering phase with the building.
[26:01]
Meaning that we do have a poor plan that's pretty much there in elevations that we're kind of just getting kind of situated with just making sure we're balancing budget and reality a little bit with that as
[26:15]
best we can. But, um, yeah, is there any specific questions
[26:20]
that people would want to know about the building?
[26:22]
Did you decide on the cable?
[26:25]
Yeah, so the cable ended up being too expensive.
[26:27]
Um, it's not going to work also with, um,
[26:31]
what the mechanical company we need to put up there and stuff.
[26:34]
And so we're going to have to just stick with like a flat roof on
[26:36]
there at the top. Um, it looked good, but it just,
[26:41]
it wasn't, it wasn't close to trying to make it work on stuff
[26:44]
with budget and functionality.
[26:49]
How close are we to get physical adress from this? How's
[26:53]
that work? Physical adress? Physical adress?
[26:59]
You know, honestly, I don't know what the
[27:02]
timeline is. It depends on what Scott has and stuff, so I don't know.
[27:11]
So I guess there's
[27:12]
updates you guys. We're still fully waiting for the plans to come in, the simple plans to come in
[27:21]
from the seller of the land. We've been designing the building, but still technically off of
[27:27]
slight speculation. We're not, it's not really that far off, but we're still waiting on those
[27:37]
plans from the seller that is working with his engineering firm.
[27:44]
Is that the, that's the biggest thing we're waiting for to move forward?
[27:49]
Is that correct?
[27:50]
Yeah, because when you got to submit to the city and get our site plan approval, that's
[27:55]
the big checklist item that kind of keeps us from doing building permits.
[28:00]
And what I mean, obviously, we still have more engineering to do, but technically I'm on
[28:04]
right now. And so it's just. Yeah.
[28:14]
The last city already took place.
[28:20]
Let's say again, sorry. Do you know if that meeting with the city already took place?
[28:24]
I know they're meeting with the city to get the stuff approved.
[28:28]
Uh, on Scott side, I don't know on Sheldon side. No, we haven't done,
[28:33]
because we haven't received Scott stuff. So but I'm not sadly I'm not as informed with the Scott stuff as maybe some other people.
[28:39]
on the one way as for even you, Jason. So yeah, I haven't heard I haven't heard too much.
[28:44]
Are
[28:52]
you able to take the board through what I think it's called the rendering or the 3D model?
[29:01]
Uh, sadly I can. I had to jet off from the office to get home on time. And so I don't know if I'm
[29:07]
a superior. I'm really sorry. Yeah. But I did show Irene kind of like a 50-60% sort of 3D model,
[29:15]
like being able to walk on the inside.
[29:17]
I have made a little bit of progress,
[29:19]
instead Irene, with engineering.
[29:22]
And so I think it's 100% capable
[29:25]
that on our next board meeting, we can all go,
[29:28]
I can plan on like a little virtual walkthrough
[29:30]
of the building.
[29:33]
Oh, I'd be great.
[29:35]
Yeah, so now that we're at this point,
[29:37]
and we've got some more approvals.
[29:38]
I thought we'd be able to do a lot earlier,
[29:39]
but things ended up changing quite a bit, so yeah.
[29:45]
So I know you're doing the architecture side,
[29:46]
I do us as board members are involved with getting the site and working with Scott Hazard
[29:56]
or are we saying that one West is over that?
[30:00]
I'm just wanting to make sure that we're doing our part as a board. Yeah, I don't know if there's that much other than, you know, everyone knowing that, like, hey, we're reading on you, like, I guess there's pressure to put because the board, like, is also aware, but it's not like you can really do anything about it as much. I think one west will be the big one mostly because they're the contractor, the people that can actually, besides just putting pressure through an email or something, they can do a little bit more when it comes to, like,
[30:29]
working stuff on it. And so, you know, I, and, and again, I think because
[30:38]
Sheldon been working it, and I don't know as much like, I don't know what kind of,
[30:41]
he knows the days that we need to hit. Sheldon does. And so,
[30:44]
he's planning on making sure that those are met. So, yeah.
[30:54]
Okay, it looks like, do you have anything else to add? Or does anybody else have any questions for Melvin?
[31:01]
Melvin, the marketing team wants to be able to push stuff out on the market.
[31:07]
Maybe can we do a scaled down floor plan of what that's going to look like or an
[31:13]
elevation, something any type of material that they can use to host?
[31:17]
Yeah, when it comes to floor plan elevation, I can do a lot actually.
[31:20]
It would just depend on how tailored the marketing people would want it.
[31:26]
So we can do anything from, yeah,
[31:28]
different kinds of style of floor plans.
[31:30]
We can do 3D floor plan in a sense of like,
[31:33]
some of like those images,
[31:34]
Irene, that you had sense of like inspiration,
[31:36]
like I can like make it look like I've cut the building
[31:38]
and you see like the wall sticking up
[31:39]
and it's kind of like a 3D floor plan.
[31:41]
We can even put little people in there and stuff.
[31:43]
Except it's like, we can, it just depends on what the need is.
[31:49]
Irene, have you all designed the storage places
[31:54]
is what they are, where's the bakery and all the different places to probably should
[31:59]
label those on the four places.
[32:00]
That actually is a good question.
[32:02]
Yeah.
[32:02]
If you guys want to organize the town a little bit more, I can take that into the drawings
[32:06]
better.
[32:08]
Okay.
[32:09]
Yeah.
[32:09]
We can definitely do that.
[32:11]
Another question from you for you is the 3D model that you walked me through last week.
[32:19]
I know you said when we entered the town, you need to adjust some stuff, roof height.
[32:26]
Was that pretty the hallway?
[32:29]
I know in the plans that we signed off on the hallway between the buildings, the town,
[32:38]
you know, one side to the other, looked pretty like a regular hallway.
[32:42]
Is there going to be more room for like tables for lunch?
[32:46]
Does that make sense?
[32:47]
open or more closed. Are you talking about in the gym or in the town? In the town. Are
[32:54]
we planning on doing lunch in the town? We just had talked about we could utilize the town for
[33:00]
family events or community, just depending on how much space we have. There is some space,
[33:09]
but I don't know the exact amount of space. You could fit other people there,
[33:15]
but I haven't necessarily been planning or thinking about it and like how it filled it up that way so
[33:20]
that's something I can definitely do. Okay because I just because when I'm looking at the map,
[33:28]
the site map or the layout, it looks like in my opinion it looks like there's a big open space
[33:36]
between in the hallway so it doesn't feel like a hallway when I'm looking at it. I hope I'm asking the
[33:43]
correct question. Does this make sense? It looks like it's really open to me when I'm looking at the
[33:48]
plans. Yeah, but when I went in because you probably want like, you know, assemblies or whatever,
[33:58]
the ability to have it in the town hall as well as in the gym. Is that right rain? Yes, yes.
[34:08]
Yes.
[34:09]
Do you have a little meeting places if you want to meet with all the second bridge?
[34:12]
I don't know.
[34:13]
But that's the way I meet it.
[34:16]
Yes, that's the way I imagined it even when I'm looking at it, but I don't know if I'm
[34:22]
off scale on that.
[34:33]
From the written for plan, it looks like that you should be able to have a good big meeting
[34:36]
area right there, right between the towns, like little towns there.
[34:40]
Yes.
[34:43]
But obviously it's not going to be as big as the gym, you know, but you can have
[34:47]
meeting, many assembly spaces, you know, to meet and gather right there as well. At
[34:54]
least what it looks like from from the four plan layout.
[34:59]
Yeah, so I'm gonna see if I was accurate in that thought process or if it is more like a big hallway
[35:06]
as opposed to an open hallway or
[35:12]
not a hallway at all more open.
[35:16]
should be an open space with with offsuits or with the classrooms off off shooting off with the off that open area because that's kind of our main town area.
[35:27]
Yes, the town hall.
[35:29]
If we're going to have town hall meetings if you'd write in that middle area, I would assume.
[35:34]
Yes, that's why that's the way I've mentioned it.
[35:42]
Does that make sense, Melvin?
[35:46]
Sorry, I was on mute. Yes, it does make sense.
[35:50]
Okay, so am I visualizing it correctly?
[35:56]
Yeah, so there definitely is space.
[35:58]
I mean, just kind of go through that.
[36:00]
And so I guess I guess the only thing I was saying is that like
[36:03]
I hadn't put that thought into it that way.
[36:05]
And so I just need to.
[36:07]
Oh, gotcha.
[36:07]
I just need to confirm everything essentially that you guys are saying.
[36:11]
I think it does.
[36:12]
And I think you guys are reading it correctly.
[36:13]
So we should be able to have that opportunity there.
[36:16]
Okay. Okay. That sounds great.
[36:23]
Thank you, Melbourne.
[36:24]
No, thank you guys. And sorry, I was late and kind of sporadic.
[36:27]
Sorry about that. Oh no worries.
[36:31]
Okay, so we already went through the budgeting and e-rate eligibility
[36:35]
and we're able to vote on that.
[36:37]
Does anybody have anything else they would like to discuss?
[36:40]
Otherwise, we can somebody could make a motion to adjourn the meeting.
[36:45]
Really quick Irene.
[36:46]
just our next meeting is the second week of September sound good for everyone
[36:50]
still on the 8th or do we need to move that further into September?
[36:58]
Let's see.
[37:02]
I was sure with Labor Day if that was going to be
[37:07]
hard because it's right after Labor Day.
[37:10]
It's just fine for me too.
[37:14]
It works for me as well and that will give us a good
[37:17]
If we do keep it, that's a good four weeks from here for our marketing committee to make progress.
[37:23]
Okay, I'll send that out.
[37:26]
All right, thank you for checking on that.
[37:31]
Okay, is there a motion to adjourn the meeting?
[37:34]
I'm motion to adjourn.
[37:36]
My second.
[37:39]
Okay, so we moved in second to adjourn.
[37:41]
All in favor?
[37:42]
Hi.
[37:43]
Hi.
[37:47]
Hi.
[37:49]
Hi.
[37:50]
Okay.
[37:53]
All right.
[37:53]
the meeting of Ripple Academy Board of Directors is adjourned at 545.
[38:01]
Thank you.
