[1:10] year for 2024. The plaque says the Coalition of Arizona New Mexico County

[1:15] counties recognized Tina Dixon, New Mexico Commissioner of the Year 2024.

[1:19] Um, I know you all know Tina very well. I've gotten to know her really well in

[1:24] the last few years and um I know that you know she does a lot of work outside

[1:28] of Roosevelt County. So you guys should be really proud of her because as

[1:31] commissioners you know it's kind of a heavy lift but when you go above and

[1:34] beyond and you do stuff outside of New Mexico to fight for New Mexico it makes

[1:39] a big difference. Um recently Tina was one of the big spearheads to head up the

[1:44] um resolution that we did in Washington for the National Interest Electronic

[1:48] Transmission Corridor, which I we really got some positive feedback there and it

[1:52] it passed at the general meeting in July in Philadelphia. So all 3,000 counties

[1:57] that are represented by Nico supported our resolution. So and Tina was a huge

[2:03] part of that. So good job Tina. So, I just wanted to congratulate her and

[2:07] congratulations Roosevelt County for having picked an awesome commissioner.

[21:52] will have those roads open and passable. They won't be finished, but they will

[21:58] open them up and have them be passable for us to get into the fairgrounds.

[29:54] they're going to have they're going to have it booked for January 30th through

[30:05] they're going to start renting that out for a lot more events. Cam and Amber

[30:09] Workhouser are working on that place on a regular basis to get it booked out.

[30:13] And the tractor and driver are our biggest

[30:18] obstacle right now of keeping that thing going.

[30:21] And I keep bringing that up and and we discuss it, but I I don't know, Juan is

[30:27] in a position to where he needs that tractor and we're going to need a

[30:30] tractor also. So,

[30:34] » we uh when we talked about this back a couple of months ago or a month or

[30:40] whatever how long it's been, I told you then we had enough left over.

[31:43] things ain't getting no cheaper. I've been I think I found a K Cabota the

[31:46] other day for like 45,000, you know. So, that's just a kind I agree with you. I

[31:51] think we need to go ahead and just if Drew thinks after we get this budget

[31:56] mess figured out, but we need to get one pretty quick if we're going to do it.

[33:48] that if we can't lower that that brake all the way into the dirt like it should

[33:52] be and just having to hold it, you know,

[33:55] partway out, it's not doing the job we want it to do anyway. So

[38:42] I mean, it was packed to the gills all the way down. And there were living

[38:45] quarters, bloomers, big trailers, everybody stayed staying there the whole

[38:49] weekend. So, if we put in more electric and water hookups, we could make more

[38:53] money on those as well because there was, I think, four or five hookups

[38:59] out there and they were all full and there was probably 40 others that would

[39:03] have been hooked up if they could have. So, just food for thought that I'm sorry

[39:08] I turned around and look at you some publicity,

[39:11] » but uh that much more. I know y'all are working

[39:15] on the stall apps. You know where we're at with those.

[39:20] » Yeah. Working with the bank once we figure out what bank we're going to do,

[39:30] with this fairgrounds things, but the the windows getting smaller with these

[39:33] rodeos, these other rodeos coming in. So, I'm just trying to keep that

[39:37] forefront of everybody's mind so we can make that as user friendly as possible.

[39:43] What's y'all's thoughts on the RV electrical hookups? You know,

[39:47] » I thought we were putting more RV hookups out there. Are we not? Didn't we

[39:51] have more going on on that? >> Did we fixed a bunch more a couple of

[39:57] four out there, didn't you? >> I think there's five right now.

[40:03] » Obviously, the electrical the the expensive part of it, running water

[40:06] would be not not so bad. Um, price-wise, uh, the key is is probably getting the

[40:13] stall out, making sure people that are using them are paying for them to where

[40:16] that'll help us to be able to afford to expand it, too.

[40:27] » Exactly. If we had someone out there, they could make sure that they're, you

[40:31] know, the the hookups are locked or whatever, they can unlock them and make

[40:34] sure that people are are paying for what they're using.

[40:41] fairgrounds rented, whoever has a fairground rented and puts

[40:46] on something, they need to make sure that their people are paying for the

[40:51] horse stalls or the RV hookups, you know, because somebody has to be

[40:58] responsible for that. We can't be willy-nilly. I know the other day we had

[41:00] one plugged into the Dad Gum big arena, plugged into the side of the

[41:06] arena extension cord. Mhm. >> And that's that's not okay.

[41:11] » So, >> every outlet that somebody sees, they

[41:14] plug into it. Every single one. >> Just plug in willy-nilly.

[41:17] » In our stalls, I went out during the rodeo and counted 68 one day and 62

[41:24] or three the other day. And at that time, they had only paid for three total

[41:29] out of all of those. And I went in and had him make an announcement, and I

[41:33] think they collected some more for it. Jared told me he had collected

[41:38] I don't know, $600, $700 total. >> He had got the check for 130 that Cam

[41:44] brought. I hadn't heard anything since then.

[41:53] » But there's a lot of opportunity out there for

[41:58] um more income for the county. Just right now, we're not uh we're not

[42:03] getting it capitalized on. I think if we had someone dedicated out there, it

[42:08] would pay for itself. You know, as you just said, if they're they got 60s

[42:13] something stalls, they've only paid for three.

[42:17] » That and the stalls app. >> Well, they Yeah,

[42:20] » that'll help a lot. >> Jared Jared Echerman, he's the one
