[33:26] camps and we've sponsored four of those and basically summer camps are, and we have

[33:32] 20 of them, the summer camps are camps whereby children, they are not referred, they are

[33:41] Children in any academy, they are children who are on the street, do not have anywhere to go during the summer.

[33:50] And we have all of our summer camps in churches.

[33:54] So our children, if you want to call it, self-refer, this year, it's going to be extremely important that we are up and running as soon as possible.

[34:09] because the legislature and the executive branch in Nashville have decided that poor children

[34:17] do not need supplemental food.

[34:22] So that makes what we do in our summer camps because we do provide food and conjunction

[34:29] with our partners.

[34:31] So this year we need to get funding as soon as possible so that we can try and maybe recruit

[34:37] more partners to help us be able to give food to an extremely food insecure district

[34:48] and families within the district. So with that I would appreciate your support.

[35:01] I would love to see this go through committee. The sponsor of it wasn't present, so we can have a discussion, particularly just to just figure out the source of the funding and just how we can ensure that access to these $0.00 or share it across the county. I'm aware that this item didn't come through as a budget amendment. And so as we've been told that we have some fiscal constraints,

[35:29] where this $250,000 is coming from is of interest to the district and thank you.

[38:00] So these were not budgeted dollars, and I'm just curious about the process of how one

[38:06] commissioner can tap into the general fund and others have not been given that liberty.

[38:10] So this is just about process clarity and fairness, $250,000 is a sizable allocation compared

[38:18] We're here to other things that have come across our desk and there are a number of us that have different initiatives that we would love to be able to get the same support from the administration to be able to fund.

[38:28] So I just want to get more clarity to know what is going on and because this is a multi-year investment into this initiative, I've not seen any of the metrics.

[38:38] I don't know how many youth we've served, what exactly the locations are, and I have had constituents reach out to ask questions about this particular allocation.

[38:46] So, committees where we vet these things, I would love for the sponsor to be present, so

[38:51] that we can have those robust conversations, and I would just ask not to delay because

[38:55] this is something for the summer.

[38:57] It's marked, so it's not a time-sensitive issue.

[38:59] I think that we can go through committee and we can get this done.

[39:33] I have church leaders who work with me.

[39:38] They have their volunteers.

[39:39] We need to put everything in place.

[39:41] We can't wait until the first week of June, which is when this program starts now as far as the funding and this particular district

[39:50] Let me just say please be advised that this commissioner works hard to make sure that

[40:00] I can take care of those children because I'm very much aware of the food insecurity of that district, the poverty of that district, and so many other psychosocial issues of District 7. So I'm very clear about what are these. I have metrics. So if you want to move this down to the hill, I can want to my office and get you all copies of everything you need.

[40:29] But I don't know, it would be such a big deal.

[40:32] just to be children.

[41:01] or we're amending the budget to create a new expenditure and if so we just need clarity on what we mean by the F-26 grant funds, we're talking about fund balance or the format of the resolution itself because I think that will tell us whether or not we're approving an already budget expenditure or we are amending the budget to add a new expenditure.
