[1:13] Each board member
[1:18] has the wants to roll calls and
[1:21] employees.
[1:45] I don't know if it's just on my end,
[1:47] but you're breaking up really bad, Dr. Davis.

[2:14] I'm going to ask the question.
[2:15] Is the answer the corpidate?
[2:18] President?
[2:20] Eric Martinez?
[2:23] President?
[2:25] Well, for miles,
[2:32] highly in Palmer.
[2:34] President?
[2:36] Fred Revis.
[2:41] Got a text from Fred.
[2:43] Sample keys have an hard time getting on.
[2:46] Well, I think he's saying, sir, all circuits are busy.
[2:50] I had the same thing.
[2:53] Did the fact that he's trying?
[2:54] Yeah,
[2:59] hold off, hold off, hold off for a second, guys, make sure.
[3:16] Should I read this?
[3:18] Okay.
[3:19] Okay.
[3:20] Very good.
[3:23] Is it for a game, hear me?
[3:25] Yes, absolutely.
[3:27] Okay, guys, I'm still breaking up pretty bad.
[3:29] I'm trying to move, okay.
[3:32] Yeah, you are breaking up pretty, you're breaking up, Dr. Davis.
[3:38] Yeah.
[3:40] The guys are trying to model through it.
[3:42] I don't know what else to do if we get to the point where it's just hard to make it out.
[3:48] You know what I'm saying here.
[3:51] I say, look, guys, it's all up there.
[3:53] What I'm going to do is hang up and call it back and get back in.
[3:57] Maybe maybe that'll help.
[3:58] So I'm going to hang up and call it back.
[4:02] Hopefully it gets better connection.
[4:03] Okay, so everyone else, please stay on the line.
[4:06] Dr. Davis is going to hang up and call that.
[4:09] Okay.
[4:14] I thought it was me, I'm going to law hands in my card else and be patient with me today.
[4:24] Everyone's doing okay.
[4:27] Good.
[4:29] You got to go.
[4:29] I'll press through your mom doing okay.
[4:32] Yes, she's doing all life.
[4:33] Thank you.
[4:34] She just, you have to speak because you gotta stay in the house and she can't go to the
[4:38] thing though.
[4:39] Watch you all.
[4:43] Good.
[4:44] Good.
[4:44] We can't do that.
[4:45] Okay,
[5:01] I got them back. Hopefully that's
[5:10] better.
[5:10] Thank you.
[5:15] I'm sorry. I said that again.
[5:18] I said not much. I can hear it.
[5:22] Okay. All right. But we're going to try to get through it.
[5:27] Got to get through it. Got to get through it.
[5:28] We can't muddle through it. We'll just try to get it.
[5:34] but I'm going to get going. We was established a core. So we'll get going.
[5:41] So at this point, I'm a president. I'm going to turn up to you.
[5:45] I think that's a call to me into order.
[5:48] Okay. We will now call this board meeting to order via phone conference at 6.30.
[5:57] 6. Mr. Coleman, would you mind leaving us in a short word of prayer, please?
[6:03] Sure, Emily Father, we thank you for the time that we're going through, Father, that we ask that
[6:09] you give us guidance and direction as we encounter and battle through this world pandemic,
[6:21] give us direction.
[6:23] Give us wisdom, help us to make the decisions that benefit our community, our district,
[6:27] And our students and staff, while they're just helping us through this, and keep us safe,
[6:36] and that we'll get through this in a quick and safe manner in Jesus' name, amen.
[6:43] I mean, thank you Mr. Coleman for that prayer.
[6:46] All board members are present with the exception of Mrs. Miles, and she's trying to call me,
[6:53] I can't answer my phone, I think she must be having some problems getting in, but she's
[6:59] since she's calling my phone, so hopefully she'll be able to get in.
[7:03] All board members are present with a section of Mrs. Miles.
[7:07] We're moving on to new business, consider, and approve, and order to move the May 22, 2020 board
[7:17] election.
[7:18] Bond election.
[7:19] Excuse me.
[7:25] Remember I didn't make a motion that we moved the board elections to November.
[7:37] Second, motion, do we need to read what's on the agenda or how do we want to do, how do we do that?
[7:45] Yeah, due to the coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak and the closure of the United States recommended the Board of Trustees
[7:50] considering improvement order moves. The May 2nd 2020 bond elections, November 3rd 2020, the COVID-19
[7:55] of the Minutes. May the motion by Fred Revis.
[8:00] Thank you. May the motion by Mister Revis.
[8:04] Second.
[8:05] Second.
[8:08] Number.
[8:10] Any comments or questions?
[8:18] All right.
[8:22] Hello.
[8:25] I'm present.
[8:26] Can you hear me?
[8:28] Yes.
[8:29] Okay.
[8:30] I don't know the board, but I just wanted to comment on that to make sure the board is clear.
[8:38] I'm sure this is kind of a common sense, but we certainly wanted the board to know we were kind of press for time,
[8:46] because we didn't want to waste funds, and then also, obviously with the state they were in,
[8:53] where we're thanking that obviously people that may not sure well with their whole social
[8:58] distancing and what have you and so certainly we don't put like that much you know much
[9:04] totally so anyhow just want to share that.
[9:12] Okay then any more comments or questions if all is
[9:18] favor for you by saying I and set your names. I'm the daughter.
[9:29] I'm the former.
[9:33] I can
[9:33] call them.
[9:36] I agree. I agree. I agree. I agree.
[9:43] I agree. I agree.
[9:47] Okay. Motion passing minutes. We'll be on to item B discuss and possible action regarding
[9:56] district response to COVID-19 matters.
[10:03] The board is the way that's really just a general peak there that the attorney
[10:09] wrote up, so we can talk about multiple things that relates to the COVID-19 matter.
[10:16] So first, I'll start with the, what's called, is stay home or work by the board or
[10:23] of shelter in place if you will been instituted, I'm sure most of you are aware, but also as part of that school personnel, we are considering central workers.
[10:38] So I'll work well, continue as relates to the grab and go meals, as relates to our remote learning plan that the towards for some of our students who do not have technology devices.
[10:53] So I have not seen to pick up packets.
[10:56] And so with that said, our work will continue
[10:58] as normal, because again, we are considered part
[11:01] of that, it's not to work.
[11:03] Group that was identified.
[11:06] So I wish we wanted to share that if there's
[11:08] any question that we're related to that.
[11:09] And a district operations.
[11:14] How are we handling it?
[11:16] I'm not going to call it.
[11:17] I'm not going to call it that.
[11:18] OK, now you're in the report.
[11:21] How are we handling how many employees there at the time who are there in particular employees
[11:27] that are sent to a hotel whether it's parapetional that we're not asking or did everybody
[11:32] or how does that point out?
[11:35] So, it's specific to start jobs.
[11:39] So, for instance, right now we're only having to force folks out of part that's truly out
[11:44] in a valley, if you will, of course, start now or come to work is obviously what the
[11:48] have to go, of course, our security, that's obviously still
[11:53] considered essential to ensure that our buildings are secure.
[11:58] It's still those folks on site throughout the night of what
[12:02] have you.
[12:03] And as far as we still, you know, following the recommendations
[12:08] or certainly best we can, in a little, conversing with staff
[12:13] and plan to have a security or some of the deafities there to help them force some of the
[12:21] or the recommendations with the no more than plan hopefully and we feel like obviously parents
[12:26] and students will comply as we're picking up grab and go or they're coming for grab and go
[12:31] or picking up packets and so on and so forth. So really this is a small amount of personnel that
[12:38] that were utilized, but based on the C. stay home, workplace order, they're just very genetic, generic.
[12:46] I mean, they're just saying all the educators basically, but we're determining who those folks are, as it relates to the dependant, of course, the job responsibility.
[12:57] So we're providing them.
[13:01] So I don't have friends.
[13:03] Yeah, I'm sure we're providing any PPE and those are stuff that's hard to come by to begin with.
[13:09] and then the, as far as the, are they working in shifts, you know, two or three hours shifts that you campus or you haven't there all day or or else they're bringing broken down.
[13:21] What was the phrase you were cutting out a little bit of what was your first question?
[13:24] We're providing them with PT, what was your first question?
[13:32] We provide it, do we have anything even provided or are we providing anything or?
[13:39] That's not sure, Dr. McCall that you got no from that.
[13:43] I think I visited that, that it certainly, those folks had max on court,
[13:49] or unit locked in gloves.
[13:51] But if you can chime in on that.
[13:54] Yes or?
[13:55] Yes, I can answer that, Mr. Revis, for the employees that are coming in to work, most of
[14:00] your active employees that are there that come in contact with, you know, potentially
[14:05] people within a certain distance, of course, your child nutrition workers, they have the
[14:10] proper face mask as well as gloves on and then also your grounds crew, because those men and women
[14:17] are still, you know, maintaining our landscape spaces and so they're out in the open, a great deal
[14:22] And so they also have their gloves and facial mask on as there as they're doing their work.
[14:35] All right.
[14:36] And then they are, so as the staff goes, I mean, yeah, I don't know.
[14:42] Are they working in shifts or they working, you know,
[14:46] certain amount of the hours each day different people so that we don't have as many people there.
[14:51] How is that working or how is that being set up?
[14:56] So for the Child Nutrition Workers, they have
[15:00] Four to five employees, depending on the volume, at the five sites that we have, and so those workers are there for an hour before to prepare the food, then they work the actual delivery time, and then a delivery of the food, and then they have about an hour and a half or so before they have to come back and do the same thing for lunch.
[15:23] And so they normally work anywhere from four to five hours a day.
[15:28] We also have a custodian at East Campus to make sure things remain clean and sanitized
[15:32] for the law and services.
[15:38] And those individuals, they normally work two days out of the week and it is an all day
[15:43] thing because they have to get through all of the district property.
[15:47] And so they normally work two days out of the week to make sure that the moms stay correct.
[15:53] Okay, and then the staff, the teachers, are they, you know, they're handing out packages
[15:58] so, you know, they did that yesterday, correct?
[16:06] Yes, I don't know if someone else wants to chime in on that, but yes, are they, they started
[16:11] handing out packages yesterday.
[16:14] Okay.
[16:16] And what are the requirements for them to be there at the different campuses?
[16:20] Chris
[16:27] Pratterson, if you want to speak to that.
[16:30] Okay, sure.
[16:31] So for the remote package, the learning packet distribution, it has gone to the campus level,
[16:37] and so the principles are calling upon their leadership team.
[16:41] They go up to the campus and then make the copies.
[16:44] They have been directed not to have more than 10 people, so that we are in compliance with the local guidelines.
[16:51] So there are 10 or fewer people outside handing out the packets and that's pretty much, you know, how they've been handling it.
[17:00] I'm not aware of anyone asking all teachers to go because that would violate the number and from understanding they pretty much been using their leadership team, their leadership team being the assistant principal, the campus instructional specialist, those type folks are the ones who are going up and getting the work done.
[17:18] Okay. Okay.
[17:23] Thank you.
[17:27] Anybody else have any more questions or comments regarding?
[17:36] Right? Well, we'll move on.
[17:38] Somebody say something.
[17:39] Well, there's a few more items.
[17:41] Just kind of going again, that B is kind of very generous.
[17:45] Okay.
[17:45] About three areas.
[17:46] About three areas.
[17:47] I wanted to touch on.
[17:48] So the middle distribution touched on it.
[17:50] And then we've also touched on the shelter place.
[17:53] So the stay home works safe.
[17:54] And then lastly, I'll turn over the Miss Patterson just to give an update.
[17:58] regarding the remote learning plan.
[18:01] Certainly, with our cyber attack issue,
[18:04] we certainly have had, I mean, those folks
[18:06] have worked extremely hard
[18:07] and been quite a few stumbling blocks,
[18:10] whenever we last, we're about where we need to be,
[18:12] but at this time of turn, I was just passing
[18:14] and giving them a day that I realized to that.
[18:17] Good evening.
[18:19] I have a short summary of kind of what we've been working on.
[18:22] Our primary focus has been on ensuring continuity of learning
[18:25] for all of our 10,000 students.
[18:29] We could not find one program for all grade levels in subjects,
[18:32] so there are a variety of programs for each grade level
[18:35] and subject that we are using for remote learning.
[18:38] The biggest online platforms are a program called Odyssey
[18:42] where, and that's for third through fifth grade reading,
[18:45] and Egenuity, which is four, six through 12th grade,
[18:49] all content areas.
[18:51] All students have been uploaded in each of the programs,
[18:54] As Dr. Davis mentioned, it took us a little longer than we had expected to download students
[19:01] and contact parents.
[19:03] We usually would easily upload students from Skyward, and we would be able to gather parent
[19:08] contact information from the same system, which is Skyward, and even email parents directly
[19:13] from that program.
[19:16] At their time, but we weren't able to do that with us not having their having Skyward available.
[19:22] So it took us a little longer than we had expected.
[19:26] At this time, we have uploaded all students in the programs and the new deadline to have students enrolled in classes and assignments given to them, it's three o'clock tomorrow.
[19:38] Many campuses are already close to meeting that expectation, but of course I'll just say our middle schools and our high school are the ones who aren't at 100% and that's because they just have more students.
[19:51] So it's going to take longer to get that done.
[19:55] Yesterday, we handed out learning packets from each campus
[19:58] to families who indicated they didn't have technology
[20:01] in their home.
[20:03] What we found was we also had a number of families
[20:05] who requested packets, even though they had technology.
[20:08] They just felt more comfortable with paper packets.
[20:11] And we tried our bare best to accommodate all families
[20:14] in their area of comfort.
[20:16] The packets were distributed yesterday
[20:18] and is enough work to take the students through April 10th, which corresponds to the duration
[20:25] of the school closing for now. So we've said school is closed until April 10th. So right now,
[20:32] as we speak, every family that need it, a learning packet has enough work for their students
[20:37] through the school closure as the date that we've set as of now. We will distribute a second packet
[20:46] next week, and that will take students through the remainder of the school year, should a decision be made not to return to school.
[20:55] We have several remote health deaths for each campus, families have been given phone numbers and email addresses to contact for technical support with the remote learning.
[21:04] Yesterday, the elementary campuses only received a few calls to their remote help desk because mostly at the elementary school, the parents are just contacting the teachers.
[21:18] At the middle school campuses, they received about an average of maybe about 40 phone calls.
[21:24] The high school received more than 100 and most of the questions that came in were about
[21:30] how to log on.
[21:32] And so we just really held their hand and walked through that process to help our students
[21:36] and parents feel more comfortable with this new norm that we have.
[21:41] We're still working on some technical issues.
[21:44] All students should be in classes and ready to log in and ready to work by Thursday morning.
[21:51] And that concludes the summary.
[21:55] Are there any questions?
[22:15] Hello.
[22:17] Hello.
[22:18] I'm sorry.
[22:18] I thought we got disconnected.
[22:20] I'm sorry.
[22:21] I don't have a question.
[22:22] I'm sorry.
[22:22] I thought we got disconnected.
[22:24] No.
[22:25] No.
[22:26] I'm sorry.
[22:28] I'm sorry.
[22:33] Okay. Well Madam President, there's nothing else. I was only three things that I wanted to touch based on. I do a list to that generic posting, discussing, you know, taking a cross-reaction record in the COVID-19.
[22:46] That's only three things that I have to discuss and let's certainly thank those regarding the COVID-19 and during the war we like to ask, except for our likes to do the five-recheck information.
[22:58] Well, of course, in closed sessions, so whether that is the board of any other questions.
[23:06] I went, okay.
[23:07] I picked up a packet.
[23:09] And I just wanted to let everybody know is running super smooth.
[23:13] Everybody was in and out.
[23:14] There was in a long line.
[23:16] It went pretty smooth.
[23:17] So who knows to all of the people I would have there making it happen.
[23:23] Thanks.
[23:24] Thank you.
[23:24] Thank you.
[23:26] Yeah.
[23:26] Thank you for sharing that.
[23:27] We're certainly going to convey that to the staff.
[23:31] They need all the tools that they can get right now.
[23:34] So please take that.
[23:34] Right, exactly.
[23:39] All right.
[23:39] We'll move on to anybody else have any comments.
[23:43] The questions regarding everything else.
[23:48] Okay.
[23:48] We'll move right on right along to item six.
[23:52] We have to come in from the public.
[23:55] If not, we'll move on to.
[23:58] Sir.
[24:00] I don't know, I forgot all about that, so you know, technically the public is certainly calling that number out, I don't think we haven't been able to do 30 minutes before.
[24:09] Okay, we move on to item 7.
[24:14] We wanted to close session.
[24:16] Dr. Davis?
[24:18] Yes, Madam President.
[24:19] So I can bring up the city from security perspective, rather than the cyber attack.
[24:23] And so remember board, you have a separate number and access code for closed session.
[24:30] So everybody was staying on because we're going to have the time back in here shortly
[24:33] for all the time to come back to open session.
[24:36] So you guys just have to hold tight for a second.
[24:39] So you have board and the board before you hang out board.
[24:44] Because there remind me, I think I have to be the host for this one.
[24:47] So this is closed session.
[24:48] So give me a minute or two, I need to call first to get her thing going, and then you
[24:55] have a call.
[24:57] All right.
[24:57] So give me a minute.
[24:58] Okay.
[24:59] Okay.
[24:59] Can I read number seven that adjourn with the closed session?
[25:03] Okay.
[25:04] Please, sir.
[25:05] I'm a great day.
[25:06] A adjourn with the closed session, closing to Texas, COVID-19, COVID-19, 5, 5, 1, 0, 7, 1,

[26:25] In terms of infrastructure, thank you very much.
[26:27] Thank you for saving it where for me.
[26:29] We will adjourn. We will adjourn to close questions at 6.50.
