[0:11]
Right, um, still, good morning. Uh, I've called to order the bail bond board, uh,
[0:17]
monthly meeting. Um, the first item on the agenda is to consider improved minutes
[0:23]
for the bail bond board meeting held Wednesday, June 17, 2026. If you'll take a second
[0:29]
to look at that.
[0:39]
I'll make a motion to approve. I have a second. Right all in favor. Say aye. Aye.
[0:46]
Any opposed? All right, the motion carries. The board, uh, the minutes are approved.
[0:55]
Next item is the uh discuss and consider renewal license application submitted by
[1:00]
Leo Graves, DBA Graves bail bonds. Um, I've had an opportunity, I think everyone's
[1:06]
had an opportunity to review the material, um. Mr. Wilson, can you advise regarding
[1:12]
this particular package? Uh, uh, as I understand, all outstanding judgments have
[1:16]
been paid. There's no, uh, suspensions currently in place, and so there's no issues
[1:23]
with, uh, moving forward with renewing the bond for the, the, uh, the renewal application
[1:30]
at this time. All right, any discussion regarding this issue at this time? See no
[1:36]
discussion. I have a motion to approve. I'll make a motion. I have a 2nd. 21 2nd.
[1:42]
All in favor. Say aye. Bye. They're all in your post. No? OK. Uh, so the,
[1:50]
The,
[1:52]
the board has approved the, uh, Leo Graves DBA Graves bail bond uh packet for this
[1:59]
year and I have a certificate uh to give to, uh, Graves when we're finished with
[2:06]
our meeting, OK? Now, There are, and there are a couple of, there's another thing
[2:12]
I will want to get into in just a second, but, um. Just discuss and consider and
[2:18]
taking any action if necessary on licenses who have been given notice that they are
[2:22]
not in compliance. Are there any such licenses not in compliance? We have one that's
[2:27]
not in compliance, but. parts Uh, anything else we need to do on that unless they're,
[2:35]
get that, Anything else we need to. As long as they get it in by today,
[2:41]
Any other, uh, That's the only issued, is that one license? Yes. All right. Thank
[2:46]
you. Um, now, The next item is announcements, no action or future agenda items. I
[2:52]
know that um um there's going to be some changes coming up, significant changes in
[2:57]
honesty coming up, and I think that uh regarding that process and Mr. Best, um, would
[3:04]
you like to discuss that or whoever you'd like to have discussed that? I brought
[3:08]
my team here so I thought. Uh, so I wanted to talk about. upgrade a biopsy on
[3:15]
August. Get very modestly.
[3:22]
That product uh.
[3:26]
Question why do we why do we care? Why don't we. know about Uh,
[3:34]
for probably the entire,
[3:36]
So we're working with the sheriff's office.
[3:41]
My best here we're gonna, we're gonna try to address. Yeah You.
[3:47]
Uh, Yvonne works, uh, it'll still be working but it doesn't have any information.
[3:56]
and once they've done the final roster at last.
[4:01]
And that's the way
[4:06]
Present to the body. at one a.m. in the morning.
[4:14]
That's no start again obviously parking I not there's no uh there's no Odyssey access
[4:20]
for.
[4:23]
Uh, from one a.m. in the morning probably until, Uh, that's the timeframe that we've
[4:30]
got to get the system back. Operation our first story is this real operation. That
[4:36]
that was the number one the courts know.
[4:42]
Uh, but And you're walking through this.
[4:48]
What one has to type. Oh Uh, that's one of the things that I have seen.
[4:56]
Do you understand that
[5:01]
people have impact to make phone calls. Fill out forms, we're gonna help provide
[5:07]
a fillable form for you to like. out to see if you have
[5:17]
This is no bond more than 7, so, so basically. You either come to the jail or call
[5:24]
the jail. You a copy. And just take out.
[5:34]
Um
[5:36]
Pro. In in AF and very fun. started Um, from
[5:43]
the large lo new project. It's just no process, so we'll get. I think Don had an
[5:49]
alternative solution to this, and that was to issue a moratorium for all criminal
[5:57]
activity in Smith County for that day. I mean, I, I don't know if we can help with
[6:01]
that, so.
[6:06]
No, we're not saying that other solutions, but anyway, no, that, that wasn't really.
[6:15]
But, uh, I think there's a couple of things we need to consider, uh, and we, we will
[6:19]
definitely send a communication out to all the bondsmen. I think that's one of the
[6:23]
things part of our communication plan, uh.
[6:27]
I know this is Thursday.
[6:30]
Very
[6:33]
I only imagine that a lot of departments that can including this uh. With her department,
[6:39]
a lot of departments are affected by this, uh, by this. So Uh,
[6:47]
The part, but the bond itself properly on paper would probably have to be put back.
[6:54]
So, so we can think of that you find I, I was expecting to see the folks. We, uh,
[7:00]
or, or every month, but, uh,
[7:05]
they are part of our Zbo and so they've been working with. presenting This is a cloud
[7:11]
solution.
[7:16]
Not local
[7:19]
So I would say uh Mr. Rawlings, if you can maybe get us in contact with the,
[7:27]
uh, the local defense bar, uh, the head, who, whoever is now the president. Of that,
[7:34]
uh, I can't remember the organization, uh, yeah, Matt Mill Slagle, and then also
[7:39]
we'll reach out to the, uh, Smith County Bar Association and let them know that,
[7:44]
hey, this is coming so that everybody is, everybody, all the stakeholders have an,
[7:49]
uh, understanding what's gonna happen on August 13th, so yes sir.
[8:02]
I
[8:07]
OK.
[8:12]
It's not, it's not the case, you know.
[8:16]
You don't.
[8:19]
We'll do that.
[8:22]
Because it's a little bit harder to do a run pass.
[8:27]
It was,
[8:30]
They just brought this together and kind of map out what how that approach, you know
[8:34]
what else.
[8:38]
more
[8:42]
We might have the same philosophy or all problem.
[8:50]
Fill it out.
[9:05]
I think
[9:11]
I
[9:13]
don't have any. I was tap out. He told me that when the talks. do the patent money.
[9:23]
Good day. That way, that way we get your receipt and you can keep track there it
[9:28]
comes right here.
[9:34]
You know, the front desk closes at 5 p.m., but, well, there's no one at the front
[9:39]
desk there's a number to call. It's hard to come up. We just has not come up.
[9:45]
Make sure you have the phone numbers and all the things. You A long time.
[9:53]
You know, certainly if you did make me
[9:58]
talking Mhm What I'll do since, This way might be doing that.
[10:08]
So, Mr. Bell, who's going to be responsible for the communication and can, on that
[10:12]
communication, we ask for a response to make sure that they actually see the message
[10:19]
communicating all this, knowing that they got it. So, so that's gonna be, uh, with,
[10:24]
with the bonds probably come from my office and I have uh Jason here with us. He's
[10:29]
our the office of the County we're working as part of a communication plan together
[10:33]
for the broader for everybody we've got the.
[10:37]
When you call in to cancel the port. So there'll be a lot of the impact. Uh the Working
[10:45]
with Larry Christie, uh, Sergeant Christie with the sheriff's office. He's part of
[10:48]
our communication team and obviously leads uh NAR.
[10:57]
And so the sheriff's app will still be up and operational, it won't be up to date.
[11:06]
It'll update itself. All information will be updated post the go live once Odyssey's
[11:12]
back up. We, you know,
[11:18]
Thank you Mr. it's not our first time. 2 years ago we had a we had a crash. We went
[11:23]
through the robust something. Before I
[11:29]
Yeah. Yeah.
[11:35]
August 13th, 616. Mr. Bell, just to be clear, the estimated timeline you're, you're
[11:41]
thinking was going to be everything goes down 11 a.m. comes back at 6 in the evening
[11:47]
the next p.m. About 15 hours. OK.
[11:52]
All right, Ms. Bell, anything else
[11:57]
that anybody has.
[12:03]
All right, thank you, Mr. Bell. Uh, any other announcements, uh. B1. No, nothing
[12:10]
there. Any future agenda items?
[12:15]
Nothing there. Um, all right, uh, we've gone through our agenda today and thank you
[12:22]
for being here. Uh, can I have a motion to adjourn. So I move 2, you all in favor.
[12:29]
All right, our meeting's adjourned. Thank you very much for being here.
