[1:44] uh last um comp plan meeting that some of these commercial signs that are on

[1:50] the sides of the swale, commercial signs that are put in the swale um primarily

[1:55] real estate signs, any signs that use a four 4x4 for a brace. Um folks are

[2:00] pulling up the signs when the home sells and nobody's filling in the holes. These

[2:06] are very detrimental to a horse. If a horse horse's foot lands in there,

[2:12] there's a big problem. Um, uh, I think after the next meeting, I'm

[2:18] going to ask code to start pulling those signs up and doing what we can because

[2:24] we got to protect our horses. And I'm just giving a a fair warning. If you got

[2:28] signs in the soil, any real estate agent, your sign may be gone. That's it.

[2:46] were going to put a sign right above on the road and was a metal one with

[2:58] on its way to somewhere else. And uh I showed him on the fence line where to

[3:03] put it and it he put it right on the fence line and it's still there and it's

[3:07] fine, but no horse goes on, you know, >> fence line is legal. Yep.

[4:24] going on in terms of new roads and all the different projects that they spend

[4:28] money on. You also get to hear Century Village fight against the DOT because

[4:33] they don't want this and they don't want that. So, gives you a lot of information

[4:36] about what's going on in the county in terms of our transportation system. So,

[4:40] think about it. Uh, somebody needs to be appointed by the council. Sorry.

[6:33] passed away after from the environment. Uh it's, you know, we can't forget this.

[6:38] This will be the 25th anniversary. at 8:46

[6:42] we'll lower the main flag that the American flag to half mass and you know

[6:47] it'll probably break up around 9 a little after 9:00. So I'd love for

[6:50] anyone that can make it to please show up September the 18th. The veterans are

[6:56] having their ice cream social here at town hall at 3:00. Uh if you are a

[7:01] veteran, know a veteran, uh call Miss December or me and and let us know

[7:06] you're coming so we can get an idea how much ice cream. All right. I'd hate to

[7:09] buy 15 gallons of ice cream and have to eat most of it myself. All right, but if

[7:14] you know a veteran, uh, please get in touch with them and I I think this is

[7:19] going along pretty well. We have 240, I know you've heard me say this, we have

[7:24] about 80 something that we know of and this will start to grow and and I'm very

[7:28] proud that that uh we're recognizing the veterans. And then last, you know, in

[7:32] the past couple days, I've been paying attention to the news. I don't know if

[7:36] you all realize that they're going to close 10 schools in Broward County.

[7:39] Public schools are getting closed and the others they're consolidating, but

[7:44] they're consolidating sixth grade through 12th grade in one school. Now,

[7:48] back when you were young and and going to school as a sixth grader, you really

[7:54] didn't hang around with 12th graders, but that's what six and a half. There's

[7:57] a number of schools that convert from six to 12. And I I just think it's

[8:01] wrong. And I'm not sure how that anybody could stop it or what. They say there's

[8:07] no funding. Uh there's somewhere close to 100,000 people a year move to Broward

[8:13] County. And you know, all of those aren't over the age of 18. So they're

[8:18] not in school. But it's the private schools. There's 250 private schools in

[8:22] Broward County right now. >> That's it.

[8:24] » That are taking the money and the vouchers. So it's really hurting our

[8:28] public school education. And I think the public school education is probably one

[8:31] of the best there is. But this is something that's going on and I keep

[8:34] watching it. Uh my wife was in education.

[8:38] All three of my uh uh kids were in education and it's just a shame to see

[8:43] that something like this is going on. But uh you know, I'm just keeping an eye

[8:46] on it just to let you know what's happening with it. That's all I have for

[8:58] the park is coming up on October 11th from 8 to 2. Um, we have uh new park

[9:05] signs that are going being fabricated as we speak, be installed in five of our

[9:09] parks. They're built just like our entranceway signs to the town.

[9:14] [clears throat] Um, our I'm pleased to announce that our uh town pioneer of the

[9:21] year is Mr. Bob Hartman. it'll be honored in the uh November uh meeting

[9:27] which will be held somewhere in downtown Fort Lauderdale.

[9:35] » We also have a photo contest where uh for the calendar it's due on the 9th of

[9:41] September. All submissions sent in to uh Susan at the uh main office. Um, we're

[9:49] going to have the grand opening of the pavilion at the uh, sanctuary park on

[9:55] the 14th. Is that correct? At 5:00 pm. Okay. Marching band shows up at 4:30.

[10:02] So, no, just kidding. There's no band. Um, and just an FYI, we're closed on

[10:07] Labor Day, which I believe is 7, right? The town hall is closed that Monday on

[10:12] Labor Day. So, and uh, that's all I have right now. Any legal comments?

[10:19] » I'll I'll be quick. Vice Mayor, um Russell and I were able to come to terms

[10:23] today with the uh owner of the uh future fire station property, public safety

[10:29] property to extend the due diligence until we get the results back on the

[10:33] water testing. Um it should be done no later than September 9th. We will then

[10:39] actively move on closing subject to a decent uh response from that test. Um,

[10:46] finally spoke to the property appraisers office today. I believe you all know

[10:50] this. Um, uh, that the town was, uh, the highest in Broward County in terms of,

[10:56] uh, increase in residential values this year. Um, some of our residents are

[11:01] getting hit with tax bills that may be surprising to them uh, because they've

[11:06] made improvements to their property and they've been reassessed as a result of

[11:10] certain improvements made to their property. If that occurred to a resident

[11:14] who's watching, property appraiser said, "Do not hesitate to file an appeal with

[11:19] the GAB. It's a one-page appeal. File it and they'll be happy to work with you

[11:24] after that appeal is filed uh to determine if that reassessment should

[11:28] have occurred." VAB means what? Value adjustment board. Sorry. Thank you.

[12:14] one amendment uh to this item. They're not seeking sewer service. They're only

[12:19] seeking water service. Pines agreements, new just because you mentioned it.

[12:23] Pine's agreements always say water and sewer. So, uh, when the drafter the

[12:28] resolution drafted it, they copied the agreement, but they're only seeking

[12:31] water. So, we've amended the resolution accordingly.

[12:36] This is a resolution of the town council of the town of Southwest Ranches,

[12:39] Florida, consenting to the city of Perick Pines providing water service to

[12:42] a 6821 Hancock Road, real property lying within the town of Southwest Ranches,

[12:48] providing that no further expansion of service shall occur within the town's

[12:51] written consent, providing for a certified copy to be furnished to the

[12:55] city of Perk Pines and providing for an effective date.

[13:28] from Pemrick Pines. And so the line will be running uh north on on Hancock to

[13:33] that location. It's also going to pass by a a prior property owner that was

[13:37] previously approved, I should say, uh for Pepper Pine Service. Yeah, it's a

[13:42] next door neighbor that's on Mustang Trail.
