[0:10] I open it. I'm in.
[0:13] Is your account working?
[0:22] Oh, this is roundtable. I've been to so many of them
[0:26] things.
[0:34] I'm having a more beautiful local.
[0:47] I'm coming. 18
[0:51] Just need to put that size. The big one.
[1:21] All right. We'll call the meeting to order.
[1:23] Okay.
[1:48] All right, that's for approval of the March minutes and the March 12th work
[1:52] session. I make it a motion to approve the March meeting minutes and the
[1:58] minutes for the March work session. I'll second.
[2:02] Any questions? No. All in favor, say aye. Aye.
[2:06] I'll ask for approval of the March Treasurer's report. Make a motion to
[2:09] approve the March Treasurer's report. I second.
[2:13] Questions? No. All in favor, say aye. Aye.
[2:17] Police Department. Um
[2:21] so a little while ago Shane sent an email out about three unpaid
[2:27] tickets before 2016. After we resolved that, I'm just curious
[2:33] uh where we're at with that. And the reason we haven't
[2:36] uh issued any more is uh still curious to see how those unpaid are going to
[2:40] fare, but just to let you know we can help with that in any way if need be
[2:44] with that.
[2:47] Patrol hours were down, at least for me. Shane's been pulling quite a bit of the
[2:50] weight um due to the schedule change that I had at New Castle, Copperhill.
[2:54] So, we went to a five and two versus the four on four off that I had previously.
[3:01] Hopefully uh things can change with that um in the near future. I'm just not
[3:05] having a lot of time at home, so um obviously trying to get over here as
[3:08] much as I can. There is a great possibility that uh we
[3:12] could have uh possibly two, maybe more
[3:16] experienced officers from another agency here in within the state of Indiana,
[3:20] obviously. Um however, it's in the early stages of that, so we will keep you guys
[3:25] informed on how that uh plays out on the very, very beginning stages. We don't
[3:28] really have an open uh hiring process right now just due to
[3:32] some budget constraints, which leads into the last point. Um since I reached
[3:36] out to Scott uh just to double-check that we could approach companies that
[3:40] would help us to apply for grants and help our funding.
[3:43] Um Scott said that that was discussed in the meeting, that was decided. So, we're
[3:46] going to go ahead and move forward with that. Also reassuring the public and the
[3:49] town board too that we will not be paying anything to those said companies.
[3:53] The only time that they will collect a fee
[3:56] is when their services actually get us the grant.
[3:59] So, we will put that into the agreement, which most of the companies are pretty
[4:03] good with that, that they don't get paid unless we actually get the grant.
[4:07] So, that's about where we're at with most of
[4:09] the position. I think Shane's been helping out with various things
[4:14] um here at the building, so wanted to thank him for that.
[4:18] Still need to check with him, too, about the lights in the gym.
[4:23] He's on the meeting. I'm still on the meeting.
[4:30] Can you hear me? Yeah, go ahead.
[4:33] Uh the last time we tried to rent, there was a
[4:37] problem with payment. So, if we're if we can get that payment piece figured out,
[4:42] we can get that scheduled.
[4:46] Hey, I'll leave that up to you and Leah to work out.
[4:52] All right, anything else from you? Looks like we're going to be skipping it
[4:55] with the fire. How about park? Nothing right now. We have a meeting
[4:59] next Tuesday. Next, okay. Yep, with 4K.
[5:06] Any word on the slide going in?
[5:12] We had to move it. I didn't know if you knew about it. We had to down in a
[5:15] different room. I haven't heard anything either. Kelsey
[5:18] said she contacted them, but I plan on going to their meeting next the last
[5:23] Saturday of the month and ask regarding that.
[5:28] And then ask about the things in the hall being lifted above the stairs and
[5:33] into the museum. Oh, got you.
[5:41] All right, anything on the community center?
[5:43] Um I don't really have too much other than
[5:47] um we need to order the ceiling tiles that are the longer ones.
[5:54] Did you not get some of those? No, I didn't get square ones.
[5:59] So those go in the cafeteria, is that right? Yeah.
[6:03] Also, there are some lights out in some of the rooms.
[6:06] I know we've got light bulbs, we just need somebody
[6:10] who's willing to climb in and put them in.
[6:13] Are classrooms? Mhm. That's something that he can do.
[6:17] Um I don't know if he's going to do it or not.
[6:19] Okay.
[6:24] We have both of those already.
[6:30] Anything else? No.
[6:33] Well, I was going to help out with that if I was in town. Pardon? If I was in
[6:36] town, I would have been able to help out with that. Do we have a ladder and
[6:38] stuff? Yeah, the ladders are in the Ladders are in the same closet the
[6:41] lights are. You might be able to
[6:44] Yeah, it's across from the boiler room.
[6:54] Okay, the wood shed lot on Main Street. Um
[7:01] Darlene said she spoke with Brian Sample about obtaining an appraisal. She's just
[7:05] waiting to hear back from him on a quote what he would charge to do it. We have
[7:09] to get at least one if we're going to sell it. If not, then
[7:14] my recommendation is we keep it and we make it parking since there is no
[7:18] parking in the town. So we have someplace for people to pull in.
[7:24] So hopefully we'll hear something back in
[7:29] by next meeting.
[7:33] Road repairs on Main Street and the drainage.
[7:38] Is that um downtown? >> That's strange, yep.
[7:41] I spoke I with him last Thursday. Um and spoke with him about it and he said
[7:47] that told me he was going to get with you that day.
[7:51] Yeah, the email was today. So, um I don't have anything further on
[7:56] that. And what about that for sales?
[8:00] Um he said he thought that was going to be an easy fix.
[8:03] And then he started looking and I said, "Is this where the drain comes
[8:08] out?" because it looks like that pipe is crushed. The end of that pipe and it's
[8:12] forcing the water over the sidewalk versus down the side.
[8:16] So, he said he was going to talk to you about it. Okay. He's getting a call
[8:20] tomorrow.
[8:23] Just so everybody knows, that's um Trent is the guy that is with Snetigar
[8:27] Construction that we're having him give us prices on and they did the work on
[8:31] some other drainage that we had problems here in town.
[8:37] Wait, you had to put that right there on top.
[8:42] All right, resolution 2026-1 FEMA mitigation plan.
[8:49] Is this one being adopted tonight, correct? Yes.
[8:54] Wow.
[8:57] Okay. So, for the sake of reading and
[9:00] introducing ordinance number 2026-1, I move that ordinance number 2026-1 be
[9:06] submitted for Uh
[9:10] this is not for the first reading, this is the second reading.
[9:14] I second.
[9:17] All right. Resolution number 2026-1,
[9:22] resolution of Town Science Hill adopting the Monroe County Mitigation Plan.
[9:26] Whereas the Town of Science Hill recognizes the threat that natural
[9:28] hazards pose to people and property within the Town of Science Hill and
[9:31] whereas the Town of Science Hill has adopted a multi-hazard mitigation plan

[9:44] Insurance Act of 1968 as amended, and the National Dam Safety Program Act as
[9:48] amended. And whereas the Monroe County Mitigation Plan identifies mitigation

[9:56] the town of Stinesville from the impacts of future hazards and disasters. And
[10:00] whereas adoption by the town of Stinesville demonstrates its commitment
[10:04] to hazard mitigation and achieving the goals outlined in the Monroe County
[10:07] Mitigation Plan. Now, therefore, be it resolved by the
[10:11] town of Stinesville in that Section 1 in accordance with IC 36-3-4-8,
[10:16] the town of Stinesville adopts the Monroe County Mitigation Plan while
[10:19] contents related to the town of Stinesville may require revisions to
[10:22] meet the plan approval requirements. Changes occurring after adoption will
[10:26] not require the town of Stinesville to re-adopt any further ear-
[10:31] iterations of the plan. That's a new one. Subsequent plan updates following
[10:36] the approval period for this plan will require separate adoption resolutions.
[10:44] I move that ordinance number 2026-1 be adopted.
[10:49] Second. All in favor? Aye.
[10:54] And no. One down.
[10:59] That was a short one. Yeah.
[11:07] All right, guys. I hate doing these things.
[11:11] All right, 2026-3, Establishing an Unsafe Building Law
[11:16] Ordinance. Is this uh an adoption for tonight, too?
[11:21] All right, I move that ordinance number 2026-3
[11:26] be adopted on the same day of which it is introduced. Well, this is actually
[11:30] the second reading.
[11:33] Second.
[11:35] And in accordance with the town of Stilesville, Monroe County, Indiana,
[11:37] adopting the provisions of Indiana Code 36-7-9, titled Unsafe Building Law,
[11:42] whereas the town of Stilesville the town council of Stilesville, Monroe
[11:45] County, Indiana, is committed to protect and promote the physical and mental
[11:48] health and social well-being of the citizens
[11:51] and to prevent and control the incidents of light and communicable diseases, to
[11:55] reduce environmental hazards to the health and safety, and to regulate
[11:58] privately and publicly owned buildings for the purpose of maintaining adequate
[12:02] sanitation and public health by establishing
[12:05] legislation which provides for the administration and enforcement of
[12:08] minimum standards for safety from fire and accidents, and
[12:12] use, location, and amount of space for human occupancy, and the determination
[12:16] of owners, operators, and occupants of buildings. And whereas the town council
[12:21] of Stilesville being the legislative body of the town may adopt Indiana Code
[12:24] 36-7-9, titled Unsafe Building Law, by ordinance.
[12:28] And whereas the ordinance must specify the executive department of the unit
[12:32] responsible for the administration of Indiana Code 36-7-9 or establish such a
[12:36] department. And whereas the ordinance must also
[12:39] incorporate by reference the definition of substantial property interest. Now,

[27:07] it shall be unlawful for any person to make, continue, or cause to be made or

[27:15] noise in or on any real property or personal property occupied but in
[27:20] control by that person. Section 4, the designated quiet time for
[27:24] the town shall be set between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
[27:28] Exceptions. Section 5, exceptions. The following are exempt from this
[27:32] ordinance. A public or community event which received prior approval from the
[27:35] town council can be exempted from this ordinance. Section 6, any person who
[27:39] violates this ordinance shall be fined $50 for each violation. A separate
[27:42] offense shall be deemed committed upon each day during which a violation occurs
[27:47] or continues. Ordinance was passed and adopted by the
[27:50] Town of Plainfield Council on the 7th day of April, 2026.
[27:53] I second. I'll second.
[28:07] Is this one going to go on for the full 300? Okay. So,
[28:12] Ordinance 2026-9. I move that it's passed on the same day
[28:16] as well. An ordinance establishing a levy excess fund.
[28:20] Whereas the Town of Plainfield Town is a civil taxing unit for purposes of civil
[28:24] government property tax controls in the state of Indiana, and whereas the town
[28:27] has received notice from the State of Indiana Department of Local Government
[28:30] Finance and Budget Division that the town has received property taxes in
[28:34] excess of the certified levy for 2004 payable in 2005.
[28:38] And whereas requires
[28:45] that if the town has received property taxes in excess of its certified levy,
[28:50] it must create a special fund to be known as a civil taxing units levy
[28:53] excess fund. Now, therefore, be it ordained by the town council of Town of
[28:57] Cynthiana, that there is hereby established a special fund to be known
[29:01] as the levy excess fund for the Town of Cynthiana, that any property taxes in
[29:06] excess of the certified levy received by the town shall be transferred and held
[29:09] in the levy excess fund. The levy excess fund shall be maintained
[29:13] and operated in accordance with the requirements of IC 6-1.1-8.5-17.
[29:21] Pass. Those years should be the I was going to say, that's what I was getting
[29:24] ready to ask. That didn't sound right.
[29:30] So, do we want to Someone want to make a motion to amend
[29:34] that? Um, we're amending it to 24-25 or 25-26.
[29:41] 25-26. I make a motion that the dates uh, for the levy excess fund be 2025
[29:49] to 2026. Second. All in favor?
[29:55] Aye. All right.
[29:57] So, passed and adopted this 7th day of April, 2026, by the Town Council of the
[30:00] Town of Cynthiana.
[30:06] And just so you know, we don't have a lot of money. So, there's not but just a
[30:10] few dollars there.
[30:15] All right.
[30:23] Do you want to go on with those bids, or do we want to take any comments?
[30:27] Up to you, guys. What do you want to do? However you want
[30:29] to do it. Take comments. You're giving me a break. So, before we
[30:34] do any of the mowing bid openings, did anybody have any comments on any of the
[30:38] things that just passed?
[30:42] And if you don't understand the IC codes, don't know I don't either. So, we
[30:45] have to look them.
[30:49] Nope.
[30:52] And I I guess I may have one thing as far as
[30:55] the dogs. Um it We've not had an issue prior at
[31:01] all since being in the town with the animals.
[31:05] You shouldn't expect to have any trouble I mean
[31:09] our dogs bark at wildlife and deer that come through and stuff, but it's not a
[31:13] continuous >> Oh, no. Yeah, it's not anything like
[31:16] that. like pounded in kind of thing. Mhm.
[31:19] That's all I was really worried about. They're pretty good dogs, but
[31:22] they do bark. He's pretty much adapted to the county.
[31:26] Yeah. >> We took theirs on um
[31:28] and what had happened in the past there where they had people calling because a
[31:32] dog just sits there and howls all night long and and somebody was either maybe
[31:36] they're elderly or you know, sick and they're not getting any rest and then
[31:40] they have to go out there and say, "Look, you got to do something to kind
[31:42] of calm them down or move them somewhere else just to give them a break."
[31:46] » Yeah, so that's basically what they If an issue does arise I guess specifically
[31:49] with that, will we get, you know, some kind of warning?
[31:52] » Oh, they'll come say something to you. Yeah, they're not just a ticket issue.
[31:54] Yeah. No, no, no. Now, they come to you and
[31:58] say, "Hey, Steven, we Your dog's causing us problems. You need to take care of
[32:02] it, okay?" And then the next day, "Steven, we just hear last night, you
[32:05] know, Steven, we're here." Yeah, and then they give you a ticket. Yeah,
[32:08] exactly. Yeah, something like that. And all the ordinances that I believe
[32:13] pretty much all of them, I'm not sure about the levy access. I think that's
[32:15] something new cuz I've not seen that one in the past, but these are ordinances
[32:19] that have just been We've had them in place since the early '90s. They're just
[32:23] being updated to make them more current. >> Got you. That's why I That's why we're
[32:27] the way I did it. We've not had any kind of problem or issue in the past. We
[32:30] shouldn't expect to have any in the future. Cool.
[32:33] And the town was clear, but just so you guys are clear cuz you've not really
[32:36] heard from Shane or I, but we tried to approach this with some common sense.
[32:40] Here's what we get a call about a dog barking.
[32:43] We're going to respond and hopefully get a hold of the people that are involved
[32:46] and try to have a conversation and try to get it figured out. But hopefully if
[32:49] you really need anything absolutely because our point is not our main goal
[32:53] is not to better words to tick everybody off in
[32:57] the town. Yeah, yeah, try to run the dogs out of town. Right.
[33:00] I mean it's hopefully we're clear heads can prevail. I mean I you
[33:03] know I get off my neighbors where I live too, but
[33:07] hopefully we can come to an agreement. Hey, what's really going on and we can
[33:09] get to the bottom of it. Talk to people. Maybe if the parties get up they're
[33:12] willing to talk to you. You know what I mean? That's fair. I try to deal with it
[33:15] like adults. So and if we're not doing that, please let us know.
[33:19] We're not perfect. So when we make mistakes, please let us know hopefully
[33:23] in an adult way. I mean I guess cussing us out is one way to do it, but we'd
[33:27] prefer that you know talk talk over talk about things like adults. Yeah, sure.
[33:31] We're not perfect, so Do your dogs think they have free reigns?
[33:35] Are a nuisance? They just don't want to do their
[33:39] business on your own yard. They'll go to everybody else's yard. Or they just
[33:45] carry things away. We have something out like a paintbrush
[33:49] you're drying. It might be found. Yeah, the lowest lost a paintbrush,
[33:54] didn't he? Take things you leave in your basement.
[33:58] If it ain't food, my dogs ain't interested.
[34:01] We've got all the fencing. You'll see them coming. Yeah, they
[34:03] They don't get out anyway. Paintbrush, he thinks he'd laugh at
[34:07] that. >> Yeah. And yes, we would like to unless
[34:10] we are advised otherwise, which I obviously were
[34:15] under the town's authority, right? The town board, but they also understand
[34:18] that we have some decision-making ability. We're adults too, so we try
[34:23] unless it's unless it's a very serious situation,
[34:26] we're just going to try to work our way into it, take it right? Yeah.
[34:29] Like I said, we try to deal with stuff as a progressing through this.
[34:36] Another thing that I just I just thought of, too. Um so, in terms of like the
[34:40] loose dog comment and stuff like that, um
[34:43] if like they were at work and they're not near our dogs, break through their
[34:47] their kennel or whatnot, like how is like
[34:50] Obviously, we wouldn't be able to get to them until, you know, we would get back
[34:54] from work. Like How is How is that, I guess?
[34:59] What do you How do you guys look at that in terms of
[35:02] like >> I'm I'm going to say just during the day
[35:05] you're taking a chance, cuz if one of the neighbors would call or somebody
[35:08] down there would call and they get animal control, that's out of our hands
[35:11] if they happen to come through and grab them. Um other than that, you know, if
[35:15] you've got somebody that's willing to hey, your dog's out, let me I've got
[35:18] your dog for you or something like that, you know.
[35:23] I just I just wanted to Yeah, during the day it's always probably going to be
[35:27] animal control getting called. Yeah. They can adopt it's really news, but
[35:32] have a rope attached to it and we try to find
[35:35] out where it belongs and we tie it and give it food and water and things like
[35:40] that during the owner's trying. The dog just got away. Yeah. And I know in the
[35:44] past I've when our dogs had gotten out in the past, I put on the the little
[35:49] message board thing, these are our dogs. Like they just they got out, but I just
[35:54] wanted to kind of just say that. Yeah. If you guys, I mean, trying to be good
[35:59] neighbors, right? Yeah, then if you guys know somebody that's usually
[36:03] in town, usually that's older that doesn't really have a job, doesn't
[36:06] travel too much. If you want to leave your number, I mean, obviously it's
[36:08] completely up to you, but I would leave my number. That way if you guys are
[36:11] unavailable, we can at least get with the neighbor,
[36:13] get your number, hopefully get you know, send you a text, FaceTime you something
[36:16] and be like, "Hey, can you walk me through? Do you feel comfortable with me
[36:18] going in your house or whatever? Trying to secure your dog so you don't We don't
[36:21] want to We want to try every avenue before we
[36:24] guys cost you money. Sure. I just I just wanted to inquire about it
[36:29] so. Yep. Yes. Uh what about solid waste
[36:35] like ordinance like ordinance fine for solid waste and stuff like that. We know
[36:41] who is that? Would that be you or would that be Shane
[36:44] who would be I just I know that's one of the
[36:47] ordinances that is on the books and I just I don't see anybody enforcing.
[36:54] Good question. I would have I would have to ask the officer you got you know.
[36:59] I would have to look at the brand new one.
[37:02] He's talking. No, I guess I'm I'm trying to understand your question. So are you
[37:05] looking for enforcement or are you looking for interpretation or you Yeah,
[37:08] there's I'm one of the ordinances that's been on the books for a long time it's
[37:12] just solid waste and I understand Steinville's the one that
[37:17] you know supposed to enforce that so you know obviously there's
[37:21] some stuff that's just like you're doing a construction project stuff. I'm
[37:25] playing that that's fine right but
[37:27] I don't know I just think sometimes Steinville gets the rap of being kind of
[37:32] that is um
[37:34] like what is just you know the Picking on others?
[37:37] What's up? Picking on some people not others?
[37:39] Well, that's true too. It does feel like it's not an equal compliant equally
[37:43] enforced but just just you know start it's starting a little bit of
[37:47] of like waste management and like I don't want to say beautification that's
[37:52] not the right word but you know just I don't know I just I feel like there's
[37:55] a lot of properties that there's just a lot of solid waste that
[37:58] never gets cleaned up and you know I'd even say hey here's my dump trailer
[38:02] could we just put stuff in there you know I I think
[38:05] Steinville's really a pretty little town but
[38:09] now it's Yeah, I'm not trying to pick on anybody
[38:12] I just wonder if that was on your radar at all.
[38:16] Uh currently yes. Okay. As far as resolutions and actually not
[38:21] just issuing tickets and taking people off. Um I know Shane and I have been
[38:25] approaching the town board and they've also talked about it in length about how
[38:28] to come up with something that's actually
[38:30] going to work and that's not going to be just
[38:33] short-term. So, obviously having both, right? So, of course I'm talking in
[38:37] circles here, but there's no really no definite decision and action to do.
[38:42] Still trying to figure out how to be fair, like you said. Well,
[38:46] what about the all the E. coli in the creek?
[38:50] They don't own the creek. Well, but the board of health came down on my property
[38:53] for a spring that goes across my property. They said it was fine. I told
[38:56] them to test the creek. They tested the creek and it's full of E. coli.
[39:01] That would be a DNR issue as far as I know. I mean, you
[39:05] we don't have anything to do with the creek.
[39:07] It's a natural waterway. That's controlled by the Department of Natural
[39:09] Resources.
[39:13] Last week, it's Saturday, Sunday. That's Saturday.
[39:17] How long ago was that? I think they tested it. A couple months ago.
[39:21] » I did it one day. They didn't test it down there, though.
[39:30] Yes, I'll believe you. I I didn't know about that, though. Why?
[39:34] Should we do it like >> So, you're saying currently the fault is
[39:37] not enforced. You guys are kind of working on a resolution to that.
[39:41] We There's one on the books, but we're
[39:45] The one that we're going to write a bunch of these tonight is we're we're
[39:47] with uh Brent and Shane.
[39:50] And we're going through and we're cuz like a lot of these ordinances have
[39:53] been done in like the early to mid-90s and they haven't been revised in so long
[39:57] and we're working with the police department to get them revised and
[40:01] and we got to send them to our lawyer to get them approved and make sure they're
[40:05] following the state laws and stuff like that. So, Yeah, it's in the works. I was
[40:08] just trying to get a clarification on what you were saying, so.
[40:13] I mean, yeah, there's there's still one in effect, but like
[40:17] from our point of view we've kind of told them to like
[40:20] you know just go up and talk to people and not really
[40:24] enforce it enforce it without enforcing it if that makes sense.
[40:29] Enforce it without finding basically and writing tickets.
[40:32] More of a conversation. No that
[40:35] makes sense. I just Until we get everything
[40:38] up to date and up to date.
[40:45] Anything else?
[40:49] All right well go on with the bids for mowing and
[40:52] plowing.
[40:59] Is that Is that one bid in here for the park?
[41:03] And that young man? It is.
[41:06] Do we know which one it is cuz it needs to be separate.
[41:09] It's
[41:12] snow
[41:15] Well I I just don't know. I don't know what it is.
[41:20] Oh well let's go on see what they do.
[41:34] This is just for mowing.
[41:41] This is a mowing bid for Steinville Zachary is it Stout? Mhm. Okay.
[41:47] He wants a monthly rate of $850.
[41:52] Did you hear me over there? I'm sorry. Yeah.
[41:55] Just mowing. Just mowing.
[42:16] » Okay.
[42:18] So, this one um That one's pre-trap. Yep. Don't know.
[42:44] So, this
[42:49] Uh this is just the parks. I'll read it last. It'll be a separate thing for them
[42:54] on this.
[43:04] Lawn care and snow plowing proposal, Cody Sylvester and Kenneth Terrell.
[43:12] So, lawn care, treat like a street
[43:15] department, mow every week, weed eat main area every week, weed eat other
[43:19] areas as needed, pick up trash and lens and mowing areas, maintain ditches and
[43:23] waterways, and do other small jobs as needed that
[43:26] we see or board sees, can discuss during bigger jobs with board. Snow plowing,
[43:32] your priority is number one, treat like a street department, plow every 2 to 3
[43:36] in, clear doorways at school, treat asphalt roads with after after snowfall
[43:40] and treat asphalt roads as needed possibly before snow and ice or after
[43:44] snowfall treatment. 2,000 a month or 2,500 monthly with um
[43:48] mowing that's Oh. So, 2,000 a month.
[43:52] If the township trustee doesn't cover the school mowing, then it has to be
[43:56] additional $500.
[44:20] » H&K Maintenance LLC
[44:25] Lawn mowing and snow removal for 2026. Town sends out weekly mowing price
[44:29] includes mowing, weeding, and blowing off clippings, weeding and bridge sides,
[44:33] athletic park, and Lockland Park. Put in the parking everything.
[44:37] Hog's Run sign area at Main and North Columbia. Snow removal 600 per push,
[44:43] salt application 350 per application. This is
[44:50] Is monthly?
[45:00] Does that cover the entire year? Uh, I think that's your mowing amount per
[45:04] month.
[45:07] And that would mean snow removal. So, he's got 575 for
[45:11] mowing, 600 for snow removal, and 350 for salt application.
[45:17] 1525 I don't know how this is broke down.
[45:22] That's what I was getting ready to ask. How can you break that down? You're not
[45:24] going to know how much Unless that's just the amount he's going
[45:28] to charge each time he has to do it.
[45:32] But he did each
[45:37] He's not here. No, but
[45:42] We aren't going to make a decision tonight, right?
[45:44] » No. But we will within the next week because
[45:48] the grass is already starting. Right. But
[45:52] All right. So, those are for the town.
[45:57] And then David's Lawn Care Services This is for mowing the town park
[46:06] and athletic park. As you come into town and his is $500 a
[46:11] month. And
[46:16] Which is athletic? Athletic is um right there by the bridge.
[46:21] That's $325 and the park is $175.
[46:27] That would be a park. That's for the parks. Mhm.
[46:32] This is in the town? Yep.
[46:36] That would be the athletic. Yep.
[46:39] All right. Well, those are all under advisement for
[46:44] a week. Um the park board meets next Tuesday,
[46:47] correct? So, they'll have to do their thing then, too.
[46:52] Did you get a copy of that to Debbie? And she's on the park board. And then
[46:56] she could discuss that at the park meeting. Yep.
[47:01] All right. Open for Those other bids, did it have the park?
[47:06] One uh Daryl's, yeah. Wow.
[47:09] I don't know if the other guy sent it or not. The other guy
[47:12] Looks to me he did. Yeah, he added it in there as well.
[47:19] All of ours were all together. Yeah. >> He's doing the park and town and
[47:22] athletic. Yeah. Yeah, that's what that's what that's supposed to be.
[47:26] It was everything.
[47:29] The schools Are they not separate? That's separate. Yeah.
[47:33] The trustees been paying to have their guy mow.
[47:37] Yeah. Hopefully he keeps it up and so forth.
[47:41] All right. Open for public comment. Does anybody have anything?
[47:46] Yes, sir. Uh I'm Troy Carter.
[47:50] And uh Marilyn Carter, I think she poked me.
[47:54] She poked you good night. Anyway,
[47:57] uh she contacted me about having a car show
[48:01] here in Steinsville. And I was just wanting to know
[48:06] uh what you guys thought of the idea.
[48:10] Um I don't think we want a car show because
[48:14] to have a car show you you got to offer prizes, control pieces of stuff. It gets
[48:19] into a lot of money then. But what I'm suggesting is maybe have a
[48:23] cruise-in like on a Friday night.
[48:26] Uh I would like to do it around the school
[48:30] rather than versus downtown. That way we don't impede in the road.
[48:34] So I was just wanting to know how what you guys thought about that.
[48:38] As far as as far as numbers it it could be 10, it could be 150. You
[48:45] just never know. If you pick the right night and the
[48:47] weather's right you know, it could be a lot of people, but
[48:52] I just want So what do you what do you guys thought
[48:55] about that? I'm all for
[48:58] » you know. Yeah. I know that VW
[49:03] um used to do one here. But they we would block off Main Street
[49:07] cuz they did their own setup down there and then they did the prizes themselves
[49:11] and stuff, but I don't have a problem with it.
[49:14] I'm good with it. Would it bring in money for the town?
[49:17] Well They spend a lot of money for for the cars you don't think? Here's my
[49:20] ideal was would be that any that that we wouldn't
[49:25] charge people. But we might hold a booth a booth open
[49:30] for the robotics club or the fire station or just somebody and just have a
[49:35] you know, a booth out there for for donations and then after the fact, you
[49:39] know, then we donate that money to the whoever
[49:44] you know. How long does it usually last when they
[49:47] set up? Like you go an hour, do you go two? No. Um it would probably be
[49:53] um if we started at 4:00, I think it could be over by 8:00, maybe 9:00. Of
[49:58] course, you get in the you get in the summer hours and it gets a little bit,
[50:02] you know, lighter at the but uh I wouldn't think any, you know, 4
[50:08] to 5 hours or so. So, we You can have them usually like
[50:13] 5:00 It's usually 4:30 to 6:30. That's correct, yes.
[50:18] I mean, is there any way we can rent out some rooms out of the building
[50:22] if the company becomes a stable thing, any more
[50:24] of a plan of that, something they know that's
[50:27] happening every quarter or things like that?
[50:31] I don't know what you mean by rent out a room. Well, if they have the car show
[50:34] and people like it and people start attending and it gets a little bit
[50:37] hotter, maybe families that come may want to have a place to I don't know if
[50:40] they offer >> It's all up Yeah, I mean, I
[50:42] Oh, yeah, we can do that back in the back. And maybe an open restroom. I
[50:46] don't know what the facilities are. It'll be a little bit uh that would be
[50:49] nice as well. Well, that could also work out where
[50:54] using robotics as an example, kids maybe have a food booth.
[50:58] If you're there long and they want to eat.
[51:00] If you uh if you could find out uh I know that the people at
[51:05] the end of Sidesville Road who usually let you guys stick a uh sign for the
[51:10] fall festival, if you would see if they do it, we could stick one of the
[51:14] '40s or '50s trucks out there like a week before with a sign that says like
[51:19] this Friday, you know, just so many people drive
[51:22] back and forth. I just think a lot of people don't know that Sidesville is
[51:26] even here. I get you.
[51:30] Yeah, I'm all for it. Yeah. I mean, if it's something that could be,
[51:34] you know, planned ahead so that we know it's not like during the alumni banquet
[51:38] or some other town event we've got going on or like somebody's like, for
[51:42] instance, Richie's dad's um celebration of life back here. So, it's
[51:47] you know, people there's not a confusion of who's going where.
[51:52] I could definitely get you some hard dates.
[51:55] Um you know, I've maybe once or twice and
[51:58] just try it out. Hey, if it fails, it fails. There's
[52:02] Like I said, it could be all right. So, uh
[52:05] I'm cool. Sounds good. And then, who do I need to work with? Do I need to work
[52:09] with the parks people about doing that or
[52:12] You'll be talking to her probably. Yeah, Lois Lois is one contact over at
[52:18] the community center.
[52:21] She said behind you, don't bump him on the head, Lois.
[52:28] All right, anybody else?
[52:31] What are you talking about? The handicap down in front of the store?
[52:35] Going to be marked a certain area for just so that it's for handicap cuz we've
[52:39] had people complain where they can't get in there that's been on the scooters and
[52:44] where it's at now is not right and it's not going to stay.
[52:50] Yeah, it should be where the blue line is, it should be behind Yeah.
[52:54] » at the ramp. Yeah, it should be behind there. Yeah.
[52:56] » Yeah.
[52:59] Some of those updates we should be putting on the website correct? That we
[53:02] can be putting access to it when changes are made so you guys know well in
[53:05] advance. Right. So, use our website we have one so
[53:09] we'll update it for you. Good central area to go get information where stuff
[53:12] changes. Anything else? What about
[53:17] What about Go ahead. What about the curve down there where we ain't got no
[53:20] place to park to get a satellite? I I parked I parked there for a reason
[53:24] cuz the buildings are moving. So, if the buildings fall and they fall on
[53:29] the little truck, then I don't know you guys need to come up.
[53:33] So, that's why they're parked there. And then, what are the
[53:36] big poles you got up to hold it up? If that thing falls, it's it's going to
[53:40] fall way out in the street.
[53:43] Yeah, the wood The wood is holding it, but I mean it's just
[53:47] It's moving and it's like, you know, I can't just go in there and
[53:51] you know, I mean, I would take the whole front of the building off piece by piece
[53:55] and rebuild it, but that's not what the historic society is going to allow me to
[53:59] do. You know, kind of So, I know I know that I'm taking up
[54:03] your parking edges all the time. Well, if it if it fell on your
[54:08] parking lot.
[54:15] Yeah, yeah, no, and I'm not doing it to be a jerk. I just, like I said, if it
[54:18] fell on a diesel truck and it was all of a sudden I owe somebody 80 grand.
[54:23] And and and just for the record, the the buildings have this weird
[54:27] umbrella liability insurance on them, but it's not good and you guys have ever
[54:32] dealt with insurance and maybe I always want to take your money, they never want
[54:35] to So, you know, just kind of ounce of prevention.
[54:42] Yes, sir. Yeah, that dead end street that keeps
[54:45] getting blocked. I don't know if I got to put a parking sign or something on
[54:48] it. Have what? Old B Street, the dead end.
[54:51] What? Uh my cousin is parking there and it's
[54:54] my easement to my property, so what do I do about that?
[55:00] What part are we talking about? It's probably like the street. The old dump
[55:04] truck parking there. They're they're off the entrance and it's dead end all the
[55:07] way to my property and it's 30 ft from the road.
[55:12] Brent, that's going to be something you guys are going to have to check out.
[55:16] So, talk with him and let him know where it's at.
[55:21] Anything else? The bizarre.
[55:25] I'll send her an announcement. Got you.
[55:29] Nothing else? All right, just for some announcements
[55:32] coming up. The Hilly Hundred. Lois, did you have the dates on that? Cuz I don't
[55:38] I don't have any. Is it It's on there. It wasn't on there the other day. It's
[55:41] actually like the first something. What are we doing?
[55:44] » know. Didn't Leah just give you an email about
[55:47] it? Yeah. Is that the Oh. Oh. Oh, yeah. Sorry, Leah. Did all
[55:52] that reading for you? >> Yeah, I don't want to read all this
[55:54] again, but So, October 2nd and 3rd and 4th,
[55:59] um the Holy Hundred, and they've asked to use I'm not sure. the building and
[56:02] grounds again for their tent setup and all that.
[56:05] » get a call from Scott? October 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.
[56:11] Um there's not a map on here, so I'm not sure which way they're going, if they're
[56:15] coming back up the hill or whatever, but They usually leave all forest road
[56:19] assistance to something like that around.
[56:21] » Mhm.
[56:25] Um this Saturday the fire department's having a free breakfast here at the
[56:28] community center from 8:00 to 10:00. They're doing different things this year
[56:32] because this is the last year for Mifflin Township signs with fire
[56:36] department. It's the 70th year, and come January 1 they're Monroe Fire District.
[56:41] So, they're doing everything but not to make money, but to give back to
[56:45] everybody that wants to come and be a part of anything they do or have. So.
[56:49] » that? Um 8:00 to 10:00. Pancakes, biscuits and gravy, sausage,
[56:54] Coffee. >> coffee, orange juice, yeah, coffee.
[56:58] Um I think that's it. >> Is that the 10th or 11th?
[57:01] » 11th. 11th or 12th? You go first.
[57:06] And my cookers is gone.
[57:10] You should be, but I'll be going. I don't know if I want to
[57:14] come or not.
[57:20] And then, um the town is um hopefully going to do the town cleanup again this
[57:24] year. Normally it's in April, but since we're already in April, we're going to
[57:27] do it May. So, we're looking at the dates of the 16th and 17th.
[57:31] So, there'll be a dumpster in the back of the building here in the grass or the
[57:35] gravel area. Bring your stuff, get rid of it. There's
[57:39] certain items we can't take, and it's like paint, um
[57:42] car batteries, oil, yeah. oils, yeah. Stuff like that,
[57:46] don't bother bringing it cuz somebody did last year and I had to make them
[57:49] take it and they got mad. It's like, "Nope, you can't take that." But And you
[57:52] have to be a town resident. >> Yep.
[57:55] But, uh feel free to bring it. We'll be there, and
[57:59] it helps each year.
[58:03] That's all I've got. You got anything? Bazaar.
[58:07] Oh, yeah. When is that? That's the Uh 25th.
[58:10] It's the last Saturday of April, yeah. Spring bazaar.
[58:15] Uh lots of lossies. I think that Park will pay us to do the food this year cuz
[58:21] robotics is going to be a competition. They're going to world again.
[58:27] They're going to world beginning in I think Kelsey. I thought think Brooklyn.
[58:32] working as well. Brooklyn said that um Kelsey had reached out and they so
[58:41] I know it's going to be um
[58:44] tacos in a bag. And then There's going to be cinnamon
[58:48] rolls for breakfast. Yeah.
[58:52] So. And that money goes to help um the
[58:55] community center.
[58:58] Booth spaces are still open. If anybody knows of anybody,
[59:02] $10, 10 by 10. From 9:00 to 4:00.
[59:08] All right, anything else?
[59:13] You got anything? Me? No, I'm sorry. I'm not.
[59:19] Last chance, anybody?
[59:22] Richie. Yo. Yo, tree bids. Tree bids. Oh.
[59:26] There's a There's a tree and creek by A2, B2, River Road Street.
[59:32] Um there's limb issues with like dying
[59:35] limbs and stuff, so the town has agreed cuz we didn't know who's it was, if it
[59:38] was that property or the property across the
[59:40] street, town's going to take it down. So, we've got three bids. One is from H
[59:46] Sons Tree Service $4,500.
[59:50] Another is
[59:54] uh All Pro Tree and Land Services for $1,875, and the other one is Bosma's
[59:58] Tree Service for $2,700.
[1:00:04] So, are all of them insured? They're all insured.
[1:00:08] Bosma was what? 40 $2,700. >> 27, and the All Pro? $1,875. 1875, okay.
[1:00:16] They are going to leave it.
[1:00:21] They're going to leave it. Save some money on the town for clean up
[1:00:25] that way.
[1:00:46] I mean, if you're seriously interested in doing that, then you could go look at
[1:00:51] it and bring a bid back to Leah, and we could look at that at the same time we
[1:00:55] do mowing.
[1:01:01] Pretty decent size tree. Do we know what what species of tree it is? I've been
[1:01:05] told two different things. I've been told it's an elm, and I've been told
[1:01:07] it's a hackberry. I don't know.
[1:01:14] So, Billy, to answer I mean, are you asking for firewood? Nope.
[1:01:19] Okay. Well, that was kind of why I I thought maybe they should take it down
[1:01:23] and leave it. We can, you know, somebody needs firewood which get chopped up and
[1:01:29] didn't burn whoever to come get I mean they can burn you need it gone.
[1:01:33] Uh like yeah.
[1:01:37] Yeah.
[1:01:40] Yeah. That's the one behind us.
[1:01:53] I mean as long as they're insured and nobody gets hurt and everything's
[1:02:07] Now that he's here, you can ask him about his future, too. I was going to.
[1:02:11] Did you get everything worked out with the county? Yes.
[1:02:15] Okay. Good.
[1:02:24] So hey, maybe if there's a car show here, you might want to pull it in.
[1:02:28] There you go. at the festival. Mhm. Yeah, at the
[1:02:32] festival. We desperately need
[1:02:36] food trailers for the festival. If you want to get a
[1:02:40] Hey Chad. If you want to get like a food truck
[1:02:42] Friday started out here, go ahead. Yeah, that'd be cool.
[1:02:52] We're going to do um
[1:02:55] this summer, I'll bring it out like on Friday and feed kids. Oh, cool.
[1:03:01] families or
[1:03:06] That's nice. Try to do that one day a week at least. That's nice. Thank you.
[1:03:09] » What do you What do you sell on your food truck?
[1:03:12] Everything. I mean just
[1:03:18] Friday night's prime rib.
[1:03:23] Oh, wow. You going to be busy.
[1:03:27] You going to be busy. Yeah.
[1:03:31] So, what's the name of it?
[1:03:34] Oh, okay. Pretty cool.
[1:03:37] Yeah. Like cool.
[1:03:41] Oh, we're glad it all worked out. Hey, when you do your car thing, you need to
[1:03:45] get hold of this guy by his food truck.
[1:03:48] Yeah, cuz I mean if they're here for 5 hours, I'm sure somebody's going to want
[1:03:52] to eat. And your fam- your family was here
[1:03:56] renting the cafeteria on Saturday. Yeah. Yeah, cuz they come into the store and
[1:04:01] went shopping, didn't they? Yeah, no. No, it was it was nice.
[1:04:06] It was nice. They were fun.
[1:04:15] All right. Anything else? Are they really serious about doing the
[1:04:19] Sorry, Leah, I know you're ready to go, but are they really serious about
[1:04:22] getting
[1:04:26] Yeah.
[1:04:32] I'll talk to you guys in a second. I got pictures.
[1:04:36] There you go. All right.
[1:04:41] Now I can spend money. No, we can't.
[1:04:45] All right, with that being said, we're adjourned.
