[13:34] We have a Mosquito statement meeting last week and we were discussing a couple of different things first well about the mosquitoes that are in the area.

[13:42] There are seven West Nile virus cases in Utah. We're a little higher than the last two.

[13:53] We're not the highest in the country though.

[13:55] So there are Arizona, Texas, California are the top three with the 143 cases across the country of West Nile virus.

[14:03] It is higher in Utah this year, they think mostly because of the weather we had, it allowed

[14:07] the female mosquitoes who are the biteers, the feeders, sorry ladies, wear the mean ones

[14:13] and allowed them to be able to do better during the winter, so they were able to feed faster

[14:19] and pass the virus a little faster as well.

[14:22] We are also in the process of doing the new renovations, some of the building, well down there

[14:28] on the property. There is a creek that runs behind the mosquito abatement as well, but

[14:33] they've been discussing, Ricky can attest to this, for quite some time about getting covered

[14:37] because it has got muskrats and water. Whenever the water comes through, it destroys, destroying

[14:42] the bed, the sides of the creek, and it's slowly eroding besides the creek and it's getting

[14:47] closer and closer where the pesticide buildings are. In this process of doing this remodel and

[14:54] enlarging them, what they have there on the property, they've worked with Davis County

[14:58] for years as well.

[15:00] Discuss paying for that, because it's actually, it is actually the counties. The Army Corps of Engineers has also been involved. There's been a lot of discussion back and forth and back and forth for a lot of years, and it's funny that it happened. So yeah, it's a good thing because they need to get it. They're going to close it up. The contractors that are doing the work there are going to do the work, instead of having the county employee, the county public works folks,

[15:29] basically do it for them because it ended up being where it was going to cost maybe a little bit more

[15:34] with the developer or not the developer, the contractor, but the county could not get to it till

[15:40] close to the end of 27, 28 possibly and they would also be extra fees because we have to haul the dirt

[15:46] off property, bring dirt back property and so there's a lot of extra things and it just made more sense

[15:51] for not much more to have the contractors do it. So that is going to be happening finally after a lot

[15:59] of years of talking back and forth. They are moving along quite well actually. I think

[16:05] our weather has helped them quite a bit. They've got a lot of utilities, a lot of the

[16:10] footings, the underground utilities, all that starting to go in and we should start seeing a

[16:15] pad late in the next couple of weeks probably. So that's great news. This has been a process for

[16:21] quite some time, for even to get the building. If you ever drive down I-15 and the second morph

[16:26] there in Kaysville and you see where there used to be the county.

[16:30] What was that building that they did the mission testing there right across is where the Davis County mosquito abatement is.

[16:38] And it's very tiny considering what they do for our county and how much equipment they have and also the storage they have there.

[16:46] We are also so when you drive past look at it being start season the construction.

[16:51] We are also going through the end of year getting everything ready for the winter.

[16:55] there's certain to lose a lot of the workers they had.

[16:58] There are seasonal workers and they are students

[17:01] and so the schools are starting to go back

[17:02] so they're starting to lose some of their staffing

[17:04] but they still have enough to be able to do what they need

[17:06] to do for the rest of the season.

[26:14] with the Commission in Clearfield and they just,

[26:17] they're thinking about asking multiple cities

[26:20] to kind of join up and make like one big youth commission.

[26:29] who goes to school in Clearfield.

[26:31] And those meetings are the second and fourth Wednesdays

[26:33] at 6 p.m. at the queer fields at Yale.

[26:41] And then I also found that there is a free health screening

[26:45] day in Weber County for anyone who wants to come

[31:11] that I wanted to give a shout out to the people who contributed in one way or

[31:14] another dogs meet from sunset and Syracuse donated most of the hot dogs as a

[31:23] donation. Walmart, Inc. donated, all the soda pop that we had, the dink and grinds, provided

[31:33] some meal cards, grants for coffee, donated coffee, and coffee cards, the HUMOT, which

[31:40] is in latent donated for dinners at their place. Elevation point of sunset, which is the

[31:48] condos down here made a very generous donation. I'm sad Bartling for all of his

[31:54] work on the fireworks and then Gail Cook and her daughter made a really nice

[32:00] donation as well. So to all those people and then our support staff who always

[32:05] makes all of the council and the mayor look good on the office administration

[32:11] Public Works and Police Department all had a great presence there.

[32:17] Overall I think it

[32:19] was a great event and I appreciate everyone's participation in that. As was

[32:25] stated earlier the fire board meeting for Thursday has been canceled so I'll

[32:33] still have a report on the numbers at our next meeting but we will not be

[32:38] meeting this time. And again, you know, that night I want to re-emphasize what

[32:44] Councilmember Wrigley said, you know, Greg Naylor, he rolled a lot of hot dogs

[32:49] and we all pissed it out, but that dude, that dude cooked some food and then

[32:56] for Sarah and Catherine and Councilmember Wrigley, they did a great job just

[33:04] serving and making sure that the hotdog part and the cake part went great.

[33:11] I know we'd planned on

[33:15] celebrating

[33:18] this

[33:21] last week.

[33:24] What's the rest of the sense today?

[33:28] Oh, same.

[33:30] Same.

[33:31] Same.

[33:31] That's what I would say since I knew over it anyway once he told me so we'd planned on celebrating Samsung that night.

[33:38] She lived in Sonsa, an entire life.

[33:42] It went to Fremont Elementary.

[33:44] Sonsa, junior high, and was attending North Davis

[33:46] when she was diagnosed with cancer.

[33:49] We had a couple of different ideas

[33:51] that we were throwing down, and then we had learned this

[33:53] and it passed away.

[33:55] Her mom did come up and read a very pleasant poem,

[33:58] and wanted to share that experience with everyone

[34:00] that was in attendance.

[34:02] And so it was a very touching thing

[34:06] that she did. I had to have been extremely tough to lose her daughter and then the very

[34:10] nice day. I want to want to share that with us. So again, for everyone who participated

[34:16] in that, thank you so much. The park looked great. The administration, all the stuff leading

[34:21] up to it because team did an awesome job and we appreciate that.
