[4:42] certificate and the judge has witnessed those
[4:45] certificates and everybody sworn in officially elected and sworn
[4:50] in. At this time, we'd like to ask Councilman Smith's pastor, Reley, if he
[4:56] would come up and offer a prayer dedication to this.
[5:06] Let's pray together. Father God, we just uh give you all
[5:11] honor, glory, praise tonight. We thank you, God, uh Lord, for a place like
[5:18] Thomasville. And as I reflect back on growing up
[5:21] here. I thank you for this being a a good place to be raised as a kid. And
[5:27] Lord, I just uh pray for this city council and for mayor day. And I just
[5:34] pray that each of them God would make decisions that would glorify you in
[5:39] order that this place in which we love and live will continue to be a place
[5:44] where families see that it's a good place to raise their children. I pray
[5:48] for each of them, Father, uh that they would make decisions not based on
[5:53] getting some recognition for themselves or some power for themselves, uh God,
[5:58] but they would make decisions based on for one thing, what's best for our city
[6:04] and people here, but most importantly, God, what's most pleasing to you. And
[6:10] Lord, we know that if they make those decisions that are pleasing to you, God,
[6:14] then your blessing will rest upon this place. So God, I pray for uh each of
[6:20] their families, their homes that they represent, God, that things would go
[6:24] well in their homes and in their families, Lord, while they are serving
[6:29] on this council. So that whenever they are here in these meetings and when
[6:33] they're dedicating and devoting their time to this city, God, that they would
[6:37] be able to focus on that, they wouldn't have other distractions at home, at
[6:41] home, and in other places, God, they would take their focus away from what
[6:45] you called them to do here. So Lord, we just ask your your hand of blessing on
[6:49] each of them and I pray that again that the decisions they make in Jesus name we
[6:54] pray.
[7:00] » All right, buckle up because we fix to go through a lot of uh business real
[7:04] quickly. Take that. We have to establish a lot of different things on this night.
[7:10] Uh we have several resolutions and ordinances. remind the council all
[7:15] ordinances will have to suspend action ordinances.
[7:24] I would like to recommend that we approve resolution 2025-18
[7:30] and that is to appoint the mayor prom and my recommendations
[7:35] as mayor pro
[7:44] » everybody speak up loud okay we're having our Facebook live is
[7:49] malfunctioning and she's recording back there so you would kind of kind of loud.
[7:53] But at this time, I'd ask for a motion to approve resolution 2025-

[8:15] Now we'll adopt the procedures to establish the
[8:21] place and meetings to be held each month. Uh that is the same as we're
[8:26] doing now. Uh currently we haven't made any changes but we meet the second and
[8:30] fourth uh Mondays of each month uh at those times at 6 p.m. Uh so we establish
[8:38] that. This is the ordinance that establishes that. Motion to approve or
[8:44] excuse me suspend asking consent for 2025-6.

[14:06] We have to designate funds for you if you get federal funds. It's got to be in
[14:09] a separate account. Yeah. All these different funds have to be different
[14:12] accounts. Those are all spelled out in this resolution. Do we have a motion to
[14:17] prove 2021 designating those as they are?
[14:22] » Make a motion. Motion made by council second.
[14:26] Any discussion in favor say I record unanimous
[14:32] appointment of the city clerk as the purchasing agent resolution 2025-22
[14:41] that resates
[14:55] remain as they are. Now we have the second before Tuesday

[15:31] You got to get in there. Make a motion. So, we have a motion. Second
[15:48] council.
[15:56] This is just a simple vote on authorization official trips. This is
[16:01] basic standard language that authorizes that council members can go on council
[16:07] mess that brings benefit to our city.
[16:15] apologies for the office.
[16:26] » Councilman Smith.
[16:30] Any discussion? Those in favor say
[16:39] » and the catchall uh appointment is
[16:47] This is a catch all for all of our person.
[16:51] It means Mayor Day hereby appoints all personnel not otherwise specified here
[16:57] to continue in their respective duties and recommended byel.
[17:06] We're continue like our supervisors and all the people
[17:11] that places that they so we just need a simple motion uh and
[17:18] second so that we can consider appointing all those to their respective
[17:22] motion made by council second by council Madison. Any discussion?
[17:42] I am pleased to say that we got in attendance tonight
[17:48] Dixon who was one of city council members
[17:55] of our former mayor
[17:58] long time service council member uh and her husband Charlie
[18:07] put you on the spot designated to give us the closing
[18:14] come up and close our meeting with prayer and then we'll have any final
[18:19] comments from council before
[18:31] Let us pray. This even our heavenly father once again we say thank you.
[18:36] Thank you our father for this day. Father we just thank you for allowing us
[18:40] to assemble together in this city in your name father. Father we thank you
[18:44] for your son Jesus who died for us that we might have right to the tree of life.
[18:49] Father, most we thank you for just allowing him to pay for our sins.
[18:54] Something we didn't pay for ourselves. And Father, we ask you to keep us in
[18:59] your keeping care. Keep us there, Father. Protect us. Keep all harm and
[19:04] dangers away from us, Father. And Father, when it's all said and done,
[19:08] give us our slippers that we come home to you. Be the men of blessing in Jesus
[19:13] name. And in Jesus name we do pray. Amen.
[19:20] comments. Mr. Co, >> I just want to thank my family and
[19:24] citizens of the district for showing up for me tonight. I appreciate you. I look
[19:27] forward to working out the next four years.
[19:33] » Thank all y'all for showing up tonight
[19:45] once again for four more years. I want to thank my wife, my church family, my
[19:50] pastor representing everyone that came out tonight.
[19:59] » It's a pleasure. This is my third term and it's been a pleasure uh being part
[20:04] of this organization and uh my primary goal and the rest of the council
[20:10] member's primary goal is to make Thomasville
[20:15] at a level and we've seen a lot of growth in the last last several years
[20:22] and we're going to continue that appreciate every opportunity that I've
[20:27] had here.
[20:31] I say this is my third term as well and I appreciate the members of district one
[20:37] allow me to continue to serve them forward.
[20:43] Last but not least, I appreciate the opportunity to serve
[20:48] you. Um this will be my eighth term >> and I'm blessed
[20:56] and many of you So many of you sticking with me and even sometime you shook your
[21:03] head I know sometime
[21:10] you know that's the reason tonight it's so important we started this tradition
[21:13] when I got in 1996
[21:19] bathing our organization in prayer as you notice tonight we prayed numerous
[21:25] times tonight for different Folks, that's where we always want to
[21:30] be. >> We got to be in God's will. We not
[21:34] » in the right direction. >> We always pray our city council that God
[21:39] will lead us in the right direction. Be who he wants us to be, be the city he
[21:44] wants us to be, be the citizens he wants us to be.
[21:48] But that's one reason that this city emblem to me is so important. You'll
[21:53] notice at the top, the hand shaking at the top. It was a full color logo. It'
[21:58] be one dark hand, one light hand because we want unity in our community.
[22:06] » Amen. >> And of course, the tree is vital to our
[22:10] economy. Of course, you got the city hall there
[22:14] and you got the family. We want us to be a family oriented community. We talked
[22:19] about it tonight about how important that is that we have good education. We
[22:23] have all the great things we can have in our city, recreation, education, and
[22:27] those things so we can be the best we can be. But the most important thing on
[22:33] this is those hands in the represent God's hand.
[22:38] » We always want to place our community in God's hands.
[22:43] » And by doing so, we will ultimately be successful.
[22:48] There's always going to be tough times. There's always going to be good times.
[22:51] » There's going to be hurricanes. There going to be tornadoes. Not too many. We
[22:55] don't want too many
[22:59] guys. It's almost like sometimes like kind
[23:07] of storms bear down on us over the years. God just
[23:13] so I think that's God's hand through those storms by working together
[23:19] and us ultimately hanging together through those difficulties it makes
[23:25] the Bible says iron sharp and iron and that's what we
[23:30] should be we're not always going to agree but we all have the right intent
[23:35] in our mind to be the best we can be sometimes it's not agree on what we
[23:40] agree on is what it's just me which we do so many times that we disagree on.
[23:45] So, thank you so much for your attendance tonight. Uh congratulations
[23:51] again to the council. I'm looking forward to a great four years of all of
[23:55] us working together. There are, as Councilman David said, we have a lot of
[23:59] great things looking at us right now and a lot of things underway already. Um
[24:04] represent Jackson's favorite place opens tomorrow.
[24:08] He's
[24:15] ready for that open is coming too and we got a lot of other stuff that we're
[24:20] working on. God's bless.
[24:27] May God bless each and every one of you. I entertain a motion that we
[24:32] » make a motion to motion. Thank you so much.
