[9:41] I'll let everybody know that they're going to start restoration on Maiden Street Monday,
[9:46] approval by Penn Dot.
[9:49] They're going to fix the patches for the time being and later on, they're going to come
[9:53] back and mail and pay Maiden Street.
[9:56] So just over here as it did talk to Chief Wilson and Chief Wilson made a recommendation
[10:00] we wouldn't be using the police officers because of the coronavirus.
[10:05] So the dispute everybody heads up there's going to start the work on Monday.
[10:09] Okay, great.
[10:10] Thank you.
[10:11] And now I think in one last thing, 68 prospects has been flooding pretty regularly again.
[10:17] We looked at that problem last year.
[10:18] I'm going to I like to get counsel or make counsel where I like to talk to Sarah about some
[10:23] Also, I know she gave us some plans or some thoughts as to what we could do there. I like to follow up with that and try to get a number to fix the problem on prospect.
[10:34] Okay.
[10:36] So I have a mirror.
[10:38] All right. Can I'd like to add Sarah's email that she sent out with the her update on monthly her monthly reports at that.
[10:49] Add that to the record meeting.
[10:52] Yes.
[10:55] Yes, mayor. Thank you. First I want to thank Chiefs Coleman and Chief Wilson for all the work that they've been doing to adapt the city with our emergency plans for the COVID-19 crisis that's gripping America.
[11:11] Second, because of that, we're very well aware of how this is affecting small businesses.
[11:16] City of Washington is made up primarily of small, mostly family-owned businesses.
[11:22] And so, Lynn Galusian, I had a conference call earlier this week with Michael Foreman
[11:27] from the Department of Community and Economic Development from the Commonwealth.
[11:32] He provided a lot of great information, Lynn's been very good about posting that information
[11:36] to our website.
[11:37] It's on the homepage under a large red banner.
[11:40] So there's a lot of information there for small businesses within the City of Washington
[11:44] to access for loans, extended business plans, things of that nature, to help them through
[11:52] this because we know, because of the stay-at-home orders and everything, this has been devastating to
[11:57] the economy, so we wanted to be as helpful as we could. So I want to thank Lynn for doing that,
[12:02] and please direct any businesses you know or anybody that's struggling through this time to the City
[12:08] of Washington website, the homepage, and look for that information there and contact me directly.
[12:14] happy to assist them that I can.
[12:17] Thank you, Mayor.
[12:18] All right.
[12:22] From my side, again, I'd like to echo
[12:24] previous statements of thanking the chief and the staff
[12:27] for doing everything they can for the city through this tough
[12:30] time.
[12:31] To let everybody know what Joe said, I
[12:34] was on a conference call this morning
[12:36] with Senator Constell, his staff.
[12:40] He provided some information, which I sent out to the group
[12:43] on the the cares package that was passed last week into law and also there's some
[12:49] some new guidance on additional CDBG funds that will be available. One of the
[12:56] questions that was asked was can that funding be used on city government?
[13:01] The system is going to look into that as we all know ripenages will be down this
[13:07] year. I know business privilege, mercantile, parking, probably property tax out of
[13:14] Matt with a lot of people being unemployed. There's just a lot of a lot of
[13:20] challenges that we're going to face as this year goes on, which would
[13:22] lost revenue. So we need to be mindful of all spending going for I don't have
[13:31] anything else back. Is there anything from your side that on the on the
[13:36] issues that we need to be aware of forward nothing that I can think of mayor okay mayor I
[13:43] wanted to let you know that um mr. Jay sick and probably Miss Anderson would want to ask council
[13:50] and mayor questions after everybody else logs out is that okay yeah they've got uh I've got
[13:58] everybody's phone number they can probably be easier to do those as a phone. Yeah, I agree.
[14:07] Okay, I don't know if you heard that John Katie, but you can call them here or counsel and ask
[14:13] them any questions that you have. Okay, thank you. All right, next regular meeting of City Council,
[14:20] We mean Thursday, May 7th at 1 p.m.
[14:24] Gender held on a 4th at 1 p.m.
[14:28] That is subject to change as this pandemic becomes more fluid.
[14:36] So I'd like to have lunch during the meeting.
