[2:54] same so we looked at dates moving forward and then we ran into the Allen

[2:59] County Fair and the Mercer County Fair and Lions Club so then we went the other

[3:03] direction and uh and the committee put out July 25th. We wanted to discuss

[3:10] it with Chief Mer uh before we finalized that because he had done all the

[3:15] original research to come up with the August 8th date and in discussion with

[3:20] with Chief. I think we decided that that was okay. Is that correct? Yeah. So,

[3:26] we're proposing the July 25th date as the date for the celebration now instead

[3:31] of the August 8th date. Um is that a Saturday?

[4:02] pediatric research cancer research walk that they normally do annually in

[4:07] October having that as kind of one of the morning kickoff events and she

[4:12] called me back after this meeting and had talked to the rest of her committee

[4:16] and they've decided that whatever date we decide they will do they will move

[4:20] their walk to that date as part of our event. So, uh, that'll be a nice thing

[4:26] to do. Um, and then the only other thing was the, uh, and I already talked to

[4:32] Aaron a little bit about it. Uh, Marilyn Shaw from the Mitchippi Garden Club

[4:37] wanted to know if as part of the renovations

[4:41] to the park if there was any consideration to place any large

[4:46] planters, permanent planters that the Menipi Club could plant flowers in. So,

[4:52] I've said something to Aaron and we'll let the park committee and Aaron run

[4:56] with that and and report back what they think we can and can do, can or cannot

[5:01] do. That's um

[5:06] and then um I don't know did I I we did establish and I know we haven't

[5:13] talked a lot about this. There is going to be a committee about uh making

[5:17] [clears throat] the walking path a memorial to all of the killed killed in

[5:22] action uh veterans that are from Waynefield. Uh and uh the foundation,

[5:30] the Waynefield Mission Area Foundation set up a fund for that and we now have

[5:34] $5,000 in that fund. And so we're moving forward with that and and I still don't

[5:40] have an official committee, but I have people working with me uh to try to get

[5:45] that moving forward. And as part of that, um it was suggested that maybe we

[5:49] do a guided tour on the day of the dedication. in that uh as part of that

[5:55] guided tour, we use golf carts because the the the thought is that there'll

[6:00] probably be some elderly, handicapped, maybe disabled individuals who will want

[6:04] to do that but won't be able to walk the path. And again, I mentioned that to

[6:09] Erin. Um and I'll let Aaron decide how he wants to handle that if he wants to

[6:14] handle that. But I don't think there's going to be a problem.

[6:21] like a something noticed about each person for each war.

[6:25] » Yeah, absolutely. That's exactly what we're doing. Uh that's the plan. Um but

[6:37] that um we're talking about giving um if we had the money setting up some kind of

[6:47] um I want to say scholarship but a um what's the word I want Nathan a gift not

[6:54] a gift a prize a prize of u some monetary prize

[7:01] and send a prompt to the kids in the high school and try to get name new

[7:06] names for the walking path from the students that would

[7:11] honor what that what the new focus is of the path and then whoever gets chosen by

[7:16] a committee then maybe they would get some kind of prize. What I did when I

[7:22] had a uh festival night one night at my school, I

[7:27] got uh different things donated like massages or maybe instead of a monetary,

[8:27] whatever and maybe save a little bit of money toward the the memorial that way.

[8:41] plaque that says like World War II. Here are the There's like five people. These

[8:48] are the five individuals that died during World War II that were killed in

[8:53] action or were residents or from Waitfield. So, and that'll happen

[9:00] for all of the uh the conflicts. I know World War I, World War II, the Korean

[9:06] War, the Vietnam War, and then the Af Afghanistan war. Those are the people

[9:12] that we have at this point. Uh there was some discussion about um the

[9:18] revolutionary war, the civil civil war. I think [clears throat] it was civil

[9:22] war, but the individual they talked about actually wasn't killed in action.

[9:27] He just served and then came back and died. So, it doesn't meet the criteria.

[9:57] Foundation which is a 501c uh set up two funds for us to accept

[10:04] donations. One for the park dedication and we currently have $1,000 in that

[10:10] fund. We received a $1,000 donation from the Mitchnick Garden Club. And then the

[10:15] KIA memorial, the killed in action memorial. We received a $5,000 donation

[10:21] from the foundation itself to kickstart that fund. Uh and so those all of the

[10:29] money will go to the foundation. >> None of it will come through council. It

[10:33] will all go to the 501c. any donations that we receive are taxdeductible

[10:39] because they're going through a 501c. Um, and then any monies that spent that

[10:45] are spent I will will have to be they've got me named currently as the person who

[10:51] would contact uh Roger Sanders who's the treasurer for the WG Foundation uh and

[10:58] say this is what we have here's the invoices. Here's the bills and then he

[11:03] will pay. I'm not touching any money. >> We're not touching any money. It's going

[11:07] all through the foundation and any money that comes out will come out for that.

[11:13] Um, their rule is they do not pay individuals. They only pay companies.

[11:17] So, if I, as an individual, go and buy $500 worth of stamps, then that's my

[11:22] donation because they won't pay me personally back. They would buy those

[11:26] stamps, but they won't pay me to buy them. So, that keeps it clean and keeps

[11:31] their audit clean. Oh, it sounds like you're definitely on track.

[13:00] add that when I was in Africa, there were no major issues occurring while I

[13:04] was gone. I was in regular contact with the sheriff's office during my time

[13:07] away. I'll also mention that I received several tips while I was gone about some

[13:11] drug and criminal activity that have been on ongoing. I'm currently working

[13:15] with the appropriate task forces to address some of those issues. There was

[13:19] one drug seizure that took place in the village while I was away uh which I had

[13:23] been involved with prior to leaving for Africa. No criminal charges have been

[13:26] filed yet. The investigation continues. Lastly, I want to let council know that

[13:30] the construction company, Hoenberg Construction, that is doing the East

[13:33] Wall Canada Street project has been doing very good work, has been very good

[13:37] to work with from a police department perspective. Um, I assisted with some

[13:41] traffic control for most of the day today and they were very aware of giving

[13:44] priority access to the traffic while still getting their work completed. I

[13:48] found the crew to be very friendly and professional. Not something I could

[13:51] necessarily say about other contractors we've had in the village on prior street

[13:55] projects. So they they've been very good to work with from that perspective.

[14:12] you report? Um you you all have my report. I'm just going to touch on a

[14:17] couple things. Um Nathan's point, the contractors we're working with, there's

[14:22] only been a couple things and one of them was there was a water line that was

[14:25] not on the map and we were digging in a catch basin or they were digging in a

[14:29] catch basin and if it's not on the map, you don't know it and it did break. Um

[14:32] there was no blow to very low water pressure on certain amounts

[14:36] [clears throat] of town when that happened cuz we had to go get part cuz

[14:39] they didn't have what was needed on nor did we cuz that's an odd size pipe size.

[14:44] But we got it done plus hydrants and everything is is good to go from there.

[14:47] Um, we have put up some speed note signs and alleys and some children at play

[14:53] signs and alleys. I think that has helped a little bit. When you have big

[14:58] construction pieces going down these alleys, if they're going 15, it looks

[15:01] like they're going 15. They and I said something to them. They

[15:06] and I believe they have slowed down a little bit. Um, but all in all, to

[15:10] Nathan's point, they have been very good work with. We do have a list of all the

[15:15] houses that as we tie in the water mains that we'll be able to call when there's

[15:19] a schedule outage and let them folks know that hey today this is the time

[15:24] frame that you'll potentially be out of water pressure on water. [clears throat]

[15:29] Um that being said today they did tie into

[15:33] the main that was run on West Punk Street that was getting through the

[15:39] intersection and I asked Nathan if he could make himself available. He did.

[15:42] Just having the lights up there makes a big difference. They brought in portable

[15:47] stop lights. >> That helped. We shut our stop lights

[15:49] off, so there was a confusion between the two. And Nathan, we were both up

[15:53] there about the same amount of time. There was not really any issues. You

[15:56] went and talked to semiis before they got to where they thought they could

[15:59] turn and wasn't going to be able to turn. And I don't think any feedback you

[16:03] got from them or was hateful. >> No, there were just a couple residents

[16:06] that didn't understand the concept of the stop lights. So, I had to explain

[16:09] that explain that to them. Yeah. Um, so they do have a majority of the

[16:14] storm in I'd say about 60% of the storm. The reason I went to the water line is

[16:18] because where the rest of the storm goes is digging

[16:22] around the old water man and we don't want to have to do that on count of the

[16:28] issues it could pose. Um, so they'll go through run the water line, get it

[16:32] pressure tested, go tested and then have that good to go. all the water lines up

[16:37] and then they will the services and then they'll go back and finish a storm. That

[16:41] way if they dig into the old old water line they don't worry about because it

[16:45] was a storm you have to have elevation. >> Otherwise you'd have to knock pieces of

[16:50] old water man out bring the fittings in just to get it around then you're just

[16:53] going to bury them and lose them. So that's kind of rhyme and reason why

[16:57] they're doing what they're doing. Um the other thing I want to touch base

[17:01] I did meet with the sheriff and Eric Preston which is administrator for the

[17:06] commissioners today on the marks tower um that has got

[17:11] traction. They've got some stuff some feedback from the county or from state

[17:15] level. So, we sat down and looked at the property in length today and

[17:20] [clears throat] she's going to go ahead and draft some language up for the how

[17:24] we donate it and ingress egress, things like that. So, I'm hoping she thought

[17:30] she'd have it back to me by September. That way, we can send it off to our

[17:35] solicitor, have it here for you guys in maybe September or October council

[17:41] meeting. Um, that being said, they do realize that there is a cohort that has

[17:46] to be crossed that they would be the ones doing that. There should be no

[17:51] money out of the village's pocket for them to do what they're doing. The way

[17:54] it sounds is once this [clears throat] is all in and done. The state level

[18:00] gives them money to maintain that. >> So, they keep talking about

[18:04] » the Mark's radio tower out the lagoons. >> Yeah, we're back. It's been a minute

[18:10] since we've we talked about that. But that was on there and in the state. So

[18:14] look for, you know, that language coming back maybe as early as next month's

[18:18] meeting. If not, it'll be an October meeting just to get a start on things

[18:22] because they have to have a company come in and do site evaluation. They'll know

[18:26] they, you know, they'll give language of that. They can come in and work on that

[18:29] stuff, drill and whatever they need to do for the site evaluation because the

[18:33] site evaluation has to be approved before it goes to the next level of

[18:37] state. So it's just it's just a domino effect.

[24:12] So, I talked I spoke with the organizer of the parade and asked if it would be

[24:15] possible to do the lineup at the park given all the space we have. Um, parents

[24:20] could drop their kids on the north end of the park and then the lineup would

[24:23] start at the like the Veterans Memorial and work its way back. They like that

[24:27] idea. So, once I get the final paperwork, it'll go through me and Aaron

[24:31] and um I think the mayor um and then it'll be pushed out on social media and

[24:36] there'll be a one call from the school sent out. Um, but the parade will be the

[24:40] 18th at 6:30 p.m. and should run from the park entrance to the school and then

[24:46] after that they will do the power football game and and everything at the

[24:49] school. >> And I'm hoping I'm hoping this can be

[24:54] the route that we use going forward. >> I think it would be nice.
