[8:54] And the last one is PMV architect. It's their final invoice for the Stravaji

[9:00] pool project in the amount of 4500. And then last month we had um we

[9:07] received our sales tax which was just a little bit over a million dollars. I

[9:12] thought it would be up a little bit more, but it was only about 2% more than

[9:15] last year at the same time. So our total deposits were $3,877,000.

[9:23] We transferred 100,000 to the to the transit bank account because we're

[9:28] trying to keep them completely separate now for it's a requirement for FTA. Our

[9:33] dispersements were just over 2.4 million. So our ending um cash balance

[9:39] for general fund is just a little over 5.8 million.

[26:01] Hancock County uh five versus five flag football team. They won gold this season

[26:06] with one of their athletes uh receiving gold in the football field. So

[26:11] congratulations to them. We have the community uh Thanksgiving dinner coming

[26:15] up on the 29th at the Weird Senior Center from 11:00 a.m. to 2 pm. All are

[26:20] welcome to uh come volunteer or eat. The food is very good cooked by

[26:27] um the city has launched this to to food drive. We will be collecting until

[26:32] Friday, December 5th. uh toys will be going to the Salvation Army and the

[26:36] non-p perishable food items will be going to the BHFRN to uh stock their

[26:41] blessing boxes as well as um they also give bags out to so to please uh bring

[26:48] non-perishable uh food items and toys to either the municipal building in the

[26:54] lobby, the fire headquarters or Gilson Avenue fire station, the Millsoft

[26:59] Community Center or Mary Here Library. Um, so like we said, Christmas is in the

[27:05] air and we are getting pumped and ready to go to face the cold on and uh, well,

[27:16] have the gingerbread house decorating contest, the magical cutest pet photo

[27:20] contest, which the deadlines enter those are Friday, November 14th. Right now, we

[30:04] repair, our crews at Santore making that repair took up an inordinately large

[30:09] amount of uh asphalt that we were scratching my head on how

[30:17] we would replace that asphalt uh and have it look professional. Thanks to

[30:23] Allan and his group at public works, they brought their u their spreader box

[30:28] down uh and as well as their paving crew and actually made the street look better

[30:34] after we were done with the repair than it looked before. [clears throat]

[30:39] » I wanted to give credit to them because they did a fantastic job.

[30:46] we have m uh we have achieved a milestone at our wart and water

[30:52] treatment plant this past um two weeks. Within the past two weeks all the filter

[30:58] meeting we have uh four uh a gallery a filter gallery containing four filter

[31:04] beds roughly about the size of this room. Uh each of them uh they're filled

[31:11] with various levels of uh stone, sand and then granular activated carbon

[31:19] called gak. Uh all four filter beds were completely removed. All the old media

[31:26] was disposed of. All the old carbon was disposed of and all new media has been

[31:33] replaced in the entire fil filter gallery. All four filter beds are now

[31:38] back in service filtering water and with brand new uh charcoal filters on top of

[31:46] them. So, it's uh really a major milestone. The old filters are now new

[31:52] and we're going to be during this construction hopefully by June we'll

[31:57] have four new additional filter beds giving us an 8 million gallon a day

[32:03] facility. That's all I have.

[32:47] we're in a far better position with new pumps, new filters, new mechanisms at

[32:52] the water treatment plant to continue to provide water service

[32:56] throughout the community. Even if we have a higher than ordinary instance of

[33:01] line breaks, we're in a better position now than we were last year to provide

[33:06] water for them. So the lines that we've had that were not in the proper place in

[33:12] the previous years, have they been adjusted and fixed to where they're

[33:17] below the frost line where they will not be harmed?

[33:20] » That will be done in a five-year process as ordered by the public service

[33:25] commission. >> Okay. Thrasher Engineering has been

[33:28] procured by the Won Area Water Board. They have been hired to do a complete

[33:34] assessment and by January or I'm sorry, July of 2026.

[33:41] A application will be submitted to the Jobs and Infrastructure Council

[33:46] downstate. Uh hopefully we get some funding and that will start that'll kick

[33:51] off a five-year uh replacement program for all of the lines that cast iron and

[33:58] galvanized lines that we have in the city.

[34:06] » I mean I I mean they can't be without water for two weeks. I mean are you

[34:10] going to >> We always have an action plan. We had an

[34:12] action plan last year as well. No one was out of water. There was a diminished

[34:21] diminished flow. >> Back at AutoZone, I think, right?

[34:25] » They they were there was actually there's family with families with two

[34:28] weeks worth of no water. >> We we had 109 cases that we reported of

[34:36] low pressure, low volume, but never anyone out of water for multiple days.

[34:41] That's part of the PSC report. >> Never out. There was individuals up

[34:45] there that had literally dripping water. If that's a flow, it's a flow.

[34:50] » But what I'm saying is that they they've had little babies in that house.

[34:54] » Little flow like that is not flow. But I mean, if it was 24 hours from the town

[34:59] that way, >> nothing like that was ever recorded or

[35:02] ever documented by us. >> Like we we stand ready to to address any

[35:09] problems as we have in the past. We will stand ready. We didn't quit last year.

[36:10] make note of. Uh first of all the veterans day ceremony tomorrow will be

[36:15] indoors at the weird mil community center in the weird room. We'll have

[36:19] both the main street doors and the main entrance doors open. So whichever uh is

[36:24] more convenient for those who are coming they can use whatever entrance is best

[36:28] for them. Please, if you have somebody that's coming to the Veterans Day

[36:32] ceremony, if they want to use, they have poor mobility and need to use an

[36:36] elevator, they need to come in through the parking lot back. It's the only way

[36:39] they'll be able to get in. Um, and also our veterans clothing drive. It's an

[36:45] annual event. We've been doing it for about eight years, I think, now. And,

[36:50] um, that'll that started on Sunday. It'll run through the 13th, which is

[36:55] Thursday, I think. >> Yeah.

[36:58] » Yeah. And uh you lose track after a while. And and then there'll be a a free

[37:03] veterans clothing shop at the US Community Center on the 15th and the

[37:07] 16th. That's Saturday and Sunday between 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. And uh it's,

[37:13] you know, it's just the least we could do for people who have given so much

[37:17] sacrifice for for the freedoms that we enjoy. I I echo Deian. Thanking you guys

[37:22] for your service and any veteran that has helped to maintain the liberty we

[37:27] enjoy.

[38:22] I'm beginning. We had the city uh the city equipment auction occurred um right

[38:28] at the Thursday after the last council meeting. You know, I meant to ask Helen

[38:32] what we netted on that, but we did pretty good.

[38:39] that's uh that was pretty productive uh pretty productive morning. Two hours net

[38:45] 85. That's not bad. Um otherwise uh let's see. We have uh Form Energy is

[38:50] moving along well, progressing on construction. They've shipped products.

[38:54] They employ uh they're employing uh 400 now and I think there's 20 jobs that are

[38:59] still open. Um let's see, we moved some larger trees on Marlin Heights Road

[39:04] threatened to block Marlin Heights Road and luckily we got to that before those

[39:08] crazy winds that uh uh that weekend. So, um you know, it was uh it was luckily we

[39:15] caught those early on and got to them. uh had an excellent cleanup event on

[39:19] 12th Street. Uh was there was a stream along 12 Street and had a great crew

[39:25] working there and got a lot of garbage bags full of stuff. Then next year I'm

[39:29] going to make it a challenge. We're going to weigh what whatever we pull

[39:32] back in. We're going to bring it back and we're going to weigh. So, but it was

[39:35] uh boy, it was amazing how much garbage was out there, you know, and stuff

[39:39] hiding in the weeds and whatnot. But we appreciate uh uh that effort as well

[39:44] very much so. Park Drive project is ongoing. say we got some occupancy

[39:48] permits up there. Um so that's good to hear. Uh again talking we did have the

[39:54] first the first meeting with with the Wen youth council. I thought it went

[39:58] pretty well. What you guys think? Pretty good. The pizza was good too. So that

[40:04] » so there's there's 14, right? >> 14. Wow. That's great. That's that's

[40:09] great. Um, so you guys are going to learn about government council and I

[40:13] think it's great that you guys are learning about what happens on the on

[40:16] the city level. Um, no disrespect to people in Charleston or Washington. But

[40:22] we're the we are like the city the city is we are like the boots on the ground.

[40:27] Whenever a citizen needs the help, they're calling the city building.

[40:31] They're not calling Charleston or Washington. So, so this uh it's going to

[40:35] be a great experience for you and um and uh I wish you all the luck. So, um other

[40:41] other than that, we're working on a new round of opioid claims against the PBM.

[40:46] Vince and I are working diligently on that. We're trying to gather. So, it's

[40:49] we're in the information gathering stage. Um let's see. Uh had a long

[40:55] meeting, the mayor and I had a long meeting with the secretary of state and

[40:58] his staff. Uh came to town. We toured the lot of miscommunications building uh

[41:04] um and also had we went a great meal at uh at Yanni's uh Secretary Warner and we

[41:11] had a a really he was with the EDA incidentally and uh had a lot of a lot

[41:16] of talk about some oncoming projects and the kind of help that we may need with

[41:21] some uh some of the dilapidated properties. He was uh very interested in

[41:26] what we had to say. I thought it was a great meeting. I really appreciate uh

[41:29] Secretary of State Warner being here with his staff. Uh we were working on

[41:34] submitted a slew of unclaimed property claims. Uh that was uh we given notice

[41:39] of those by the state treasur's office and um those were in the name of the

[41:45] city of Weirden. I want to say there was at least 20. Uh some were for maybe a

[41:50] couple hundred bucks and some are maybe in the thousands. So So that's like uh I

[41:54] don't I guess I call that free money. I mean, it's a pretty simple application

[41:57] process and um so we're looking forward to getting that money in. Um uh let's

[42:03] see, gee, we're working I'm working with the secret state I'm working with the

[42:07] secretary of state's office with regard to getting red rider or red sinclair in

[42:12] exchange on the state board of public works meeting agenda. They uh the public

[42:17] works state public works has to approve those kind of things. I don't anticipate

[42:21] any problems. It's just a matter of getting on their meeting agenda. Um,

[42:26] uh, let's see. Okay. Did that, um, okay, hey, weather's

[42:32] changed, but inspections are still doing their work, especially with the sign

[42:35] initiative. Uh, as you, as Allan indicated, public works is getting is

[42:39] getting their equipment ready for snow. Um, and, um, so we're going to be ready

[42:45] to go with that. um went to Bridgeport uh with Diana for the state auditor's

[42:50] training covering a lot of different issues, budgeting, um ethics, open

[42:56] meeting act, etc., etc. We had, as you well know, we had two uh we had a work

[43:00] special council meeting and a workshop. Had a was a good meeting with the

[43:04] traffic commission. A lot of good ideas out there with regard to what we can do

[43:08] about speeding and um so we're going to be addressing that. Deianne mentioned a

[43:13] slew of Christmas events. you have the Saturday before Thanksgiving, Saturday

[43:17] after Thanksgiving, a lot of uh holiday meals and things like that. Um we have

[43:23] all of that's on on the city's website in case anybody's wondering the days and

[43:27] the times and that uh and that. So, um keep th keep those all in mind. And last

[43:33] but not least, uh in honor of of Veterans Day, uh oh no, I almost forgot.

[43:38] I almost forgot one thing. We are We were voted this second best place to

[43:42] retire by the US News and World Report. Pretty good.

[43:48] It's pretty good. It's pretty good. And just in case you're wondering, here's

[43:53] how they came up with it. They came up with a bunch of different standards. Uh

[43:57] quality of life index, that's things like crime and and believe it or not,

[44:02] weather, environmental risks, uh value index, our home prices for what you get

[44:07] are pretty good here. uh general cost of living in the city with retail, fuels,

[44:11] food, etc., etc., healthc care quality index. Believe it or not, we're we're

[44:16] really close. We not only do we have WB Medicine in town now, we have UPMC as an

[44:22] urgent care. Um Alageney Health Network, it's always very close. Last we forget

[44:27] Cleveland Clinic is is one of is like worldrenowned for healthcare and they're

[44:31] they're very close as well. Um so we have we scored very strongly in that. uh

[44:38] uh retiring taxes index. Well, we have uh um low property taxes. Uh so that's

[44:44] good. We have a decent sales tax rate as well. Uh senior population migration

[44:50] sort of looking at um the 55 plus population and the 55 plus movers to the

[44:57] state. And part of that, I think what is driving some of that is that you have

[45:01] people that are in uh uh uh grandparent mode that want to come back because we

[45:07] have young families that are able to stay here more often now because we're

[45:11] starting to accumulate some jobs and getting some interest that way. So, uh

[45:15] otherwise the job market just said the current job market is becoming pretty

[45:19] strong. Um and not not everybody that retires completely leaves the uh

[45:25] completely leaves the work the workforce. So, uh, those are all

[45:28] interesting things that, uh, that that are used to raid, used to raid us. This

[45:33] is not something that we bought and paid for. This came out of nowhere. I don't

[45:37] know. I still can't figure out who did it.

[45:41] So, you know, people say, "Oh, hell, they, you know, they just they just paid

[45:45] some service to come up with that." But this is nothing we knew about. So glad,

[45:49] you know, I was I was proud to hear about it. And, uh, I think we're still

[45:54] on the move. We're still moving up. Last but now, last but not least, uh I'm

[45:58] going to I'm going to take a second and I want you guys you guys to appreciate

[46:02] the importance of Veterans Day. And um this was President Reagan's proclamation

[46:09] in 1986. You guys weren't born in 1986. But uh President Reagan was a was a

[46:16] great speaker. And uh here's how it goes. It's not too long. Veterans Day

[46:20] gives all Americans a special opportunity to pay tribute to all those

[46:24] men and women who throughout our history have left their homes and their loved

[46:27] ones to serve their country. Their willingness to give freely and

[46:30] unselfishly of themselves, even their lives in defense of our de democratic

[46:36] principles has given our great country the security we enjoy today. From Valley

[46:40] Forge to Vietnam, uh through war and peace, valiant patriotic Americans have

[46:44] answered the call, serving with honor and fidelity. Thank you, Tim, Brown, and

[46:51] Chris. Going on, on a special day, our hearts and thoughts turn to all the

[46:55] nation's veterans. Let us reflect on the great achievements of those whose

[46:59] sacrifices preserve our freedom and our way of life. With a spirit of pride and

[47:03] great gratitude, let us recall their heroic accomplishments and thank them

[47:07] for their unselfish devotion to duty. Uh they are indeed worthy of the solemn

[47:11] tribute of a grateful nation. I invite all Americans to join me, President

[47:15] Reagan, in observing Veterans Day through uh appropriate ceremonies,

[47:19] activities, and commer commemorations on November 11th. In order that we pay

[47:24] fitting homage to those men and women who have proudly served in our armed

[47:28] forces, the Congress has provided that November 11th each year shall be set

[47:32] aside as a legal public holiday to honor America's veterans.

[48:07] First of all, these young people right here are going to change that. So, it's

[48:12] not just a place to retire, okay? It's a place to come back, grow, raise a

[48:27] » Uh but it you know we're the governing body. So city of Weirden they look at us

[48:34] the governing body and the employees but it it's a lot more than that. It's the

[48:38] people in this community you know it's uh friend who's here from the chamber of

[48:42] commerce the work that they do with small business Anthony Clemens with the

[48:46] business development corporation working on bigger projects. The trash squad

[48:52] Karen and Cindy working as they do up at Mar Heights Park. It's a lot of people

[48:58] that are taking they're taking things that are near and dear to their heart

[49:04] and making a better community and we appreciate everything that everyone does

[49:09] in this community because we can't do it on our own. We'll face the criticism.

[49:14] We'll take the complaints. We signed up for that. But all the work that is done

[49:18] by the people of this community make this community better. Deian mentioned

[49:23] about the Thanksgiving dinner, the Christmas dinner. You know, these are

[49:27] people senior shutins, okay, that are many of them alone on those holidays and

[49:33] now have meals that and good meals that I don't cook. I would make that.

[49:39] [laughter] But it's people like that. It's like

[49:43] people like all of you that make this community better and make this type of

[49:49] designation. so important to me and to all of us up

[49:54] here sitting up here. So, we want to thank all of you for the work that you

[49:58] do and help that you give this community to make this a better place to live. So,
