I would move the minutes be approved.
>> Second.
[0:04]
» Any additions correction?
>> Yeah, but I'm Tommy and I are abstaining
[0:08]
because we were there.
>> Oh, yeah. We have to
[0:10]
» in favor.
[0:17]
» All right. We're going to make some shot
here tonight. We're going to start
[0:23]
from the big coach.
Yeah. Come right up. Come right up.
[0:32]
chair or you want to just stand and talk
or
[0:34]
» I better stand.
[0:41]
» Thanks for coming.
>> Thanks.
[0:44]
» Well, thank you for having me.
Yeah, I'm
[0:49]
here because of a charitable
organization that I got involved with a
[0:57]
coast bank.
[1:05]
I got to keep
[1:10]
» share. Thank you.
The Mid Coast Wood Bank is a volunteer
[1:16]
partnership
between guys who like to work with
[1:22]
firewood
communities who have residents
[1:28]
in need of heat.
We try to be the filling in that
[1:32]
sandwich.
That's why we call ourselves a
[1:36]
partnership.
We serve a common community goal,
[1:41]
helping people in need.
We've been in business for 11 years.
[1:50]
The Mid Coast Woodbank functions from
Toppson
[1:54]
and covers 10 towns, Bulage, Bath,
Bowden, all that. You can read all that
[2:00]
down there. But the important thing is
that we provide firewood
[2:08]
either directly to a household. We'll
bring two cords and drop it off. You
[2:13]
stack it. I'm not going to stack stack
it. Or we would like to put two totes
[2:20]
which are wire baskets each about a
third of a cord somewhere on acceptable
[2:27]
town property. They'll be full of wood.
And they are wood is free for anybody
[2:35]
that needs it.
>> And because the totes are in an
[2:39]
accessible place, if somebody needs it
at 3:00 in the afternoon or as we found
[2:44]
in Harpsville, somebody's furnace blew
up at midnight sub freezing. They went
[2:49]
down to town hall and got enough
firewood to keep their house going. So
[2:54]
we will provide to households
up to two cords of firewood delivery and
[3:01]
to the towns we will provide totes
of 4x4 by five floor dried firewood.
[3:10]
Place them where the town wants them
placed and we ask the town to work with
[3:16]
community organizations to keep the
totes full.
[3:21]
And that's that's been our issue. We're
good at getting wood for free. Sometimes
[3:27]
we have to buy it. We're good at
cutting, splitting, stacking, and if the
[3:32]
weather's cooperative, drying it, and we
deliver it because we've got a big
[3:37]
trailer and pick up. We do not have
enough pickup trucks or staff to deliver
[3:42]
the wood to keep the totes full. So,
that's our problem. And I'm here to ask
[3:48]
two things. One, will each be a part of
our community service area for the 26 27
[3:57]
season?
And number two, if the answer is yes,
[4:02]
will you work with the community service
organizations that are existent in town?
[4:09]
We'll work too so that we can count on
your totes being full,
[4:16]
being kept full.
The one thing I I would like to throw in
[4:21]
here, we're going to have those totes.
We had them over here in the parking lot
[4:24]
and that wood went to campfire
most of it because people were stopping
[4:30]
in there in June and July picking up
wood, you know, they didn't need it. It
[4:34]
was 100° out. So, we we have a community
salt shed. It's it's not right on Route
[4:41]
One, but everybody in town knows where
it is. We give away two bucks of sand at
[4:46]
a time and people are there every day
all day picking up a bucket of sand and
[4:51]
everything. I would think if we're going
to have those move the salt shed because
[4:56]
we have a camera system there. If we see
some guy going in there and loading up
[5:00]
his pickup truck and coming every day to
do it and we we know that you know
[5:05]
» to miss the location location is a town
issue. Wherever the town wants it, we'll
[5:12]
deliver two totes full of wood.
>> Mhm.
[5:15]
» And on April 15th or thereabout, we'll
come and take the empty totes away.
[5:20]
» But you need somebody to pick the wood
up in top and bring it down
[5:23]
» between
October 1 and April 15th. As the totes
[5:30]
go down in qual quantity,
somebody from Woolitch needs to refill
[5:37]
them because we just don't have the
volunteer staff to drive back and forth.
[5:43]
Mayor,
>> um, thank you for for doing this. Um,
[5:49]
so what kinds of community service
organizations have you worked with in
[5:53]
other town? I'm thinking in Witch of
churches. Um I also happen to know a
[5:58]
neighbor of mine put donated some wood
that he was cutting up on his own
[6:03]
property. So what's your experience with
>> our experience has been with council on
[6:09]
agings or senior centers harpsal aging
at home. It's one organization.
[6:15]
» Okay.
>> And there's a lady in charge of that who
[6:18]
you don't say no to
>> and her husband did and he suffered.
[6:23]
You go. He This lady knows how to get
things done.
[6:27]
» Yeah.
>> And I'm sure we used to live in
[6:30]
Ipsswitch, Massachusetts, and there was
a lady there who knew how to get things
[6:35]
done. And I'm sure there's a lady or a
gent here in town that can get that
[6:41]
done.
>> So, would you suggest having a point
[6:45]
person in town sort of make sure you
know like reach out to these different
[6:50]
organizations? my name and number is
right on here and I'll work with them
[6:54]
and stay in touch
>> and uh and we'll we'll make it happen.
[7:00]
» Right. So So to be to be clear, this is
this we already have these we've been
[7:04]
doing these the last year. Yes.
>> And you folks have been refilling them,
[7:07]
» right?
>> So that the the going forward the
[7:09]
ability to refill them you can't do any.
>> We've added two towns this year. We have
[7:14]
not added any pickup trucks.
>> Yeah.
[7:17]
» Yeah. Jon. So Jon, it was Jonathan
Appleard that that put some wood in
[7:21]
there.
>> Yeah. Yeah.
[7:26]
» My own
people for us. You know, I I ate my wood
[7:33]
to I've got next winter after I'm
working on the winter after that right
[7:38]
now. I eat my house with wood. Uh and I
donated wood before and Dale's hauled it
[7:44]
to me family. So, I I appreciate you
doing this. This is great, but I I do
[7:50]
think we need we're going to get
involved. We need to get off this
[7:54]
parking lot out here. It's too easy to
target anybody.
[7:57]
» Yeah. People from Route One. We had a
lady that didn't live in town and she
[8:02]
stopped by daily to pick up wood and I
know she lived in like Waldenboroough or
[8:07]
whatever. So, I know it set on there for
residents only. So, it was a little
[8:12]
frustrating to have people, you know,
and I I if they need it, I understand
[8:15]
it,
>> but
[8:17]
» we we hadn't really considered a
resident of another town coming to
[8:22]
Woolitch
>> to fill up theirs.
[8:28]
» Yeah. Ours ours was we had Yeah. Like I
when we were talking, you know, the the
[8:32]
it being there in the summertime, it was
campfire
[8:35]
» so that was very frustrating. Um,
>> and as it should be, yeah,
[8:39]
» we we had a a a serious problem in in
Toxwell
[8:45]
» where two totes would empty in a night
>> and it turned out that there was a
[8:52]
clamor,
his flats are closed. He had a sick wife
[8:58]
and he's working three jobs and he'd
pass by the totes and fill up his truck
[9:02]
and go home and put it in his stove to
keep warm until the next night. So these
[9:07]
things happen and we're glad to be part
of that kind of an exercise. Yes, the
[9:13]
people who come after campfirewood,
they're a problem and there are shabby
[9:17]
people all around.
>> But shouldn't but shouldn't that
[9:19]
individual have reached out to you folks
directly and got wood delivered?
[9:23]
» Yes.
>> I mean I mean there's a difference
[9:24]
between daily pickup which
>> people won't do I mean I agree with you
[9:29]
but will they do that
>> a sign right on the thing?
[9:34]
» I'd use Mr. King as example. Heats with
wood.
[9:37]
» Yeah.
>> And if he was in need,
[9:40]
» he could call the number, John Allen,
qualify you,
[9:45]
» and you're on a schedule, and we'll make
a delivery. We'll bring two cords,
[9:49]
» and then later on in the season, you're
right. We'll bring two more cords.
[9:55]
» Now, I think I have a time convention. I
needed more.
[9:58]
» Well, you may. We we we we
distributed 120 cords last year. We've
[10:05]
got 140 ready to go and we're going to
have 200 before the heating season
[10:10]
begins. So for us, this is this is
serious stuff.
[10:15]
» I don't know. I just don't know whoach.
Now, that was what I was wondering if we
[10:21]
could put something out. If you said
Jonathan Appleard donated, you know,
[10:25]
like you've got um the ride share
program, you know,
[10:28]
» we got these we got something out there
>> and say we're looking for volunteers
[10:33]
with a pickup truck
>> to pick up firewood for the community.
[10:37]
Um you know,
>> we got a newsletter coming out next
[10:40]
week.
>> That would be a great thing to put in
[10:42]
there.
>> Well, I even had,
[10:43]
» you know, it's helping your community. I
don't mind hauling the trail up and do
[10:47]
it once in a while, but
>> you know, it doesn't have to be one
[10:49]
specific person. It could be a couple
It certainly doesn't have to be one
[10:55]
person,
>> although it' be good to have somebody
[10:58]
kind of be in charge of it,
>> right?
[11:02]
Thinking about moving to where the salt
shed was
[11:06]
surpris
[11:10]
» I know. I was I had that same question.
So, we're not going to
[11:18]
say
>> maybe have a little discussion about it.
[11:28]
» What Jason, what you started to say
something.
[11:30]
» Well, I I had a couple of thoughts. One
was when you deliver to folks, you
[11:33]
deliver a couple of cord. Right. Right.
>> So, why couldn't there be a larger
[11:37]
delivery brought even if it was dumped
on the ground and then reloaded and
[11:41]
others? Why couldn't there be a pile?
>> There was the sustainability of some
[11:46]
more the unit is going to be the
problem. I think you know today I'll get
[11:49]
a load. You'll get a load. You'll get a
load. But over time I I just
[11:55]
» Yeah. I mean obviously how much is each
container hold? A cord.
[11:58]
» Third of a cord.
>> A third of a cord. So if somebody were
[12:01]
to deliver a two cord pile and even if
it was you know what I'm trying to say.
[12:05]
» No.
>> No I don't. What do you dump it on the
[12:09]
ground?
>> Dump it on the ground. have a secret so
[12:12]
much dump in there.
>> Will you just carry it out?
[12:17]
» Well, yeah. I don't know. Is there would
there be room in the building at some
[12:20]
point to dump a couple of cord?
>> I don't know. I I mean, my concern would
[12:26]
be you're going to have people in and
out of that sand building.
[12:29]
» Yeah.
>> You're going to have an insurance
[12:30]
situation and unsafe.
>> I wouldn't want to go in.
[12:33]
» I think I think this is going to be out
of hand if we not care.
[12:36]
» I wouldn't want anybody to go into the
building itself. I'm talking if the
[12:40]
totes were out beside the the little
shed that they get the sand out of
[12:43]
anyway.
>> Yeah. Yeah.
[12:45]
» And then refill. See, what I'm trying to
point out is
[12:48]
» we had in the building that that only
town personnel could carry out, right?
[12:53]
» I wouldn't go buy once in a while
carrying a few of
[12:58]
» Well, I was trying to point out that
that you deliver a larger volume. So
[13:02]
maybe that maybe we would have a way of
accepting a larger volume and then have
[13:05]
that for refilling. And maybe we could
do that and maybe someone in town,
[13:10]
» right,
>> has a has a dump trailer
[13:13]
» and could come and pick it up and do it
themselves.
[13:16]
» Yeah. Yeah.
>> I began by saying Woodbank is a
[13:20]
partnership
>> and a partnership goes after a goal and
[13:24]
our goal and I hope your goal is to keep
people in need warm in the winter. And
[13:31]
how do we get there? I think the idea of
delivering a dump load of wood, couple
[13:37]
of cords makes a great deal of sense and
if it's done right, it shouldn't
[13:43]
interfere with the salt shed.
>> No, I was just concerned about it was
[13:47]
mentioned inside
[13:52]
» so if it was to the left or the right of
the little shed little shed.
[13:55]
» Yeah. Yeah. I was just wondering if
there was a way we could dump two cod in
[13:59]
the building and only have town
personnel,
[14:03]
me or Dale or whoever go over and just
carry it out and put it
[14:11]
» raise your hand. Dale,
[14:16]
» you mean you keep it in the cup?
>> Well, well, we have to keep it under
[14:19]
cover. See, that that would be the
thing.
[14:21]
» We don't have room in the fire station.
How much does a dumpster like?
[14:26]
» Well, no. So, the trouble is the tote,
as he said, holds a third a third of a
[14:29]
cord, right?
>> How big is that dumpster like out
[14:32]
» here?
>> It's relatively close to that size.
[14:34]
» Okay.
>> But but the point is you don't want to
[14:36]
go you don't want to go pick up a third
of a cord every time. You want to get
[14:39]
more volume.
>> So, that
[14:40]
» my my only concern about committing
to keeping your totes full by dumping a
[14:48]
load. My only concern is that we don't
have the pickups to make the deliveries
[14:54]
to the households and come to you.
>> That would be one low. I mean,
[14:58]
» no. No. But if you get right,
>> we set a truck up to get five or six
[15:03]
yards.
>> Yeah.
[15:04]
» That's going to go a long time
>> is if we have a place to dump it.
[15:08]
» Yeah.
>> And then it can just be re
[15:13]
and then just carry it out.
>> Yeah. Then you just take the loader and
[15:16]
pick up some wood, take it outside.
>> I have all this room in my driveway now
[15:20]
that my cars are going away.
[15:25]
» Well, how about we discuss a little bit
more about this?
[15:31]
» The last time somebody cost me $100.
>> Our people will talk to your people and
[15:37]
then we'll get back to our people.
>> I think these people are going to make a
[15:40]
good decision.
>> All right.
[15:41]
» Thank you for raising your hand to help.
Yes. Yes. And you're on camera.
[15:45]
» Thank you.
>> When do you need an answer?
[15:48]
» Uh we want to start putting totes out
October 1.
[15:51]
» Okay.
>> So we got six weeks.
[15:53]
» Okay. But I'm leaving here with a sense
that you Woolitch would like to
[16:00]
participate and we're now working on a
detail.
[16:03]
» That's right.
>> And the detail has two parts. The
[16:07]
location.
>> We think it's going to be up by the salt
[16:11]
shed. and who is going to come and
handle it
[16:16]
» because we'd really like to leave the
entire process to Woolwitch.
[16:21]
» We'll bring the full totes. We'll take
the empty totes away and if you could
[16:26]
find somebody with a dump trailer in
between to come pick up couple of cords.
[16:32]
» Okay,
>> that'll take a lot of pressure off of
[16:34]
us.
>> We will get it out there and we will let
[16:37]
you know.
>> Thank you very much. Thank you very
[16:39]
much. Thank you, gentlemen. Thank you,
ma'am.
[16:50]
All right, we're going to we're going to
continue with new business here. And
[16:55]
Trevor from here
[17:04]
» Trevor Tyler.
>> We met the other day.
[17:07]
» You and I.
>> He's from Ko.
[17:10]
» That's right. Uh so hi both thanks for
for having me. Um my name is Kyle
[17:14]
Phillips. I work with Ruth and at the
expiry land trust. We are currently
[17:20]
doing a large prioritization of all of
the title crossings in our region, which
[17:24]
is for our purposes all the railroad uh
road uh dam crossings over a title water
[17:31]
body to determine which ones most well
suited for restoration projects like at
[17:35]
Back River Creek where we raise the road
up to prevent um road flooding and uh
[17:40]
expand the title channel to restore fish
habitat connectivity and support the
[17:44]
adjacent islands. Um so as part of this
work we are doing a large GIS
[17:50]
desktopbased prioritization of about 314
which is all the crossings in our region
[17:55]
including Woolitch. Um and for all of
those crossings we have about 100
[18:00]
different metrics calculated. So how
high is it above sea level if it floods
[18:04]
with the detour route along it? Um how
many folks would get cut off? How
[18:08]
important is it for access to emergency
services? as well as a handful of uh
[18:13]
ecological metrics as well, like how
long is this stream that would get
[18:16]
reconnected? Um how much marsh habitat
would be protected, what rare species do
[18:20]
we care about? Um and on top of this uh
large comprehensive assessment, we've
[18:25]
also been doing in-person uh field work
at priority sites, looking at the
[18:30]
condition of crossings, um how they're
interacting with the nearby ecosystem,
[18:35]
and taking surveys, photos, things like
that. So we have a really good sense
[18:39]
about what's happening at these
crossings. And we'll ultimately be using
[18:42]
all of this data to create fact sheets
about all of these different crossings
[18:46]
to determine which ones are most suited
for restoration projects and facilitate
[18:50]
conversations with municipalities about
um which projects we think we can
[18:54]
advance. Also will be really helpful for
telling stories and creating narratives
[18:59]
about these crossings for grants uh
funders. So we are now uh uh seeking
[19:05]
funding for additional to continue this
work and we're hoping to apply for the
[19:09]
main coastal communities grant uh which
is through main coastal program and
[19:14]
municipal planning assistance um program
and in essence this grant could provide
[19:19]
us with about $50,000 to continue moving
this work forward. Um it's required that
[19:24]
either a municipality or council of
governments is the formal applicant. So
[19:28]
we were hoping that which would be
willing to sponsor this application
[19:32]
which essentially just means be the one
who's officially applying we would pull
[19:36]
together the application as well as be
responsible for the administration uh
[19:41]
and coordination related to the grant.
Um Kelt would cover the 10% match
[19:46]
required. There's no financial ask being
made of the town. And what this grant
[19:50]
would enable us to do is essentially
take all of this data and all the tools
[19:54]
that we've developed and make them more
publicly accessible. So right now we'll
[19:58]
just be we have funding to create simple
fact sheets about all the crossings. But
[20:02]
what we we want to do is make sure that
these 100 different metrics that we
[20:05]
calculated are accessible to folks as
well as integrate the data that we've
[20:09]
collected with some state agency um
resources like the main title
[20:13]
restriction atlas which lets anyone go
online and see all the photos that I've
[20:17]
taken. So this essentially lets um folks
that are advancing this work, whether
[20:21]
it's municipalities or state folks,
restoration practitioners, have the
[20:25]
information that they need to move these
projects forward.
[20:30]
» Wow.
>> Need from us.
[20:32]
» Um we are just hoping that you will all
agree um to be the applicant for this
[20:37]
and that we would provide you all with
the application.
[20:40]
» I think that sounds like I would useful
information.
[20:43]
» It is. And Ke obviously has been good to
work with.
[20:46]
» I would make that motion. I would move
that we um are one of the applicants or
[20:49]
the applicant
>> second. Those in favor
[20:54]
» fantastic. Thank you.
>> Thank you.
[21:00]
» You seconded that.
>> I did.
[21:05]
» I know.
>> Okay, moving on.
[21:10]
» Oh.
Um
[21:14]
so make it quick. Thank you everybody
for our great Witch Community Day. This
[21:19]
is the first meeting since then, right?
>> Yes.
[21:22]
» Yep. Um
I have handed over to the road
[21:27]
commissioner staff a plan for some sign
replacements in the park
[21:32]
» staff. Wow.
>> Yes, the staff. Road commission.
[21:38]
» So I'm hoping uh so I'm so let me know
if there's anything more you need from
[21:42]
me on that.
>> Right. He needs some signs replaced and
[21:44]
whatnot. Tammy has it. He has funding.
>> Go ahead,
[21:47]
» for the park.
>> And I'll just remark that Allison and I
[21:53]
and Danny
>> and Kim
[21:56]
» and Kim went to the Saga Hockey EMA
emergency operation
[22:01]
» and Sean
>> and Sean
[22:02]
» and Sean. Yeah.
>> Emergency operations.
[22:06]
» We were well
>> uh rehearsal simulation of a of an
[22:12]
emergency event. And it was a learning
experience.
[22:15]
» Yeah.
>> Yeah.
[22:17]
» That's it.
>> Um what he said and I'll add to the
[22:21]
emergency management thing. Um Wish I
thought was wor really great and I'm
[22:26]
really grateful to Ta. She's not here
but hopefully that shows up in the
[22:29]
minutes. Um yeah, and I'm continuing to
be tasked with and being invited to
[22:35]
public transit workshops. I think I
mentioned it, you mentioned it for me
[22:38]
the last time. So those are coming up.
fail.
[22:43]
» Nothing.
>> Um, not much. Same thing with the with
[22:46]
what we're say. It was another great um
success. Um, also don't forget folks,
[22:51]
tomorrow, a week from tomorrow at 3:30
is the DOT and DOT safety audit meeting
[22:56]
um here. Okay. So, that's all I got.
>> I have nothing to
[23:02]
public
[23:06]
» just because I haven't mentioned it
before. Downstairs in the display case,
[23:09]
there's a really cool wedding dress.
Whose wedding? Where did it come from?
[23:17]
» We've had it for a long time.
>> It looks great.
[23:20]
» Found a way to share.
>> That's wonderful.
[23:25]
» All right. How to administrative.
>> All right. So, we are going live with 30
[23:30]
web next week. Um, and I
they're going to do the install Tuesday
[23:36]
night and we go live Wednesday morning.
And when I was talking to the rep the
[23:41]
other day because we're figuring out all
the bugs and we have a lot of bugs that
[23:45]
things aren't working right. Um that
when we go live that morning on
[23:50]
Wednesday, I have to go onto each
computer and reinstall everything that
[23:54]
I've already put in the play
environment. So I would like to have a
[23:58]
little late start that day because I
don't think I want to start off and
[24:02]
running at 9:00 in the morning. And you
know I know we're going to have some
[24:06]
issues. So, I just want to, you know, if
we can open early and everything's fine,
[24:10]
but I want to shoot for like a noon y
>> start time because it is our late night
[24:14]
12 to 6. I think that'll be sufficient.
>> Advertise.
[24:17]
» Yep. I'll do what I can. I'm leaving.
Yeah.
[24:20]
» We can put it in the newsletter.
Although, is it is it next week?
[24:23]
» Next Wednesday.
>> Next Wednesday.
[24:25]
» Next Wednesday. So, I'll I'll put it out
on Facebook and I'll put the signs out.
[24:30]
Yeah.
>> Put a sign in the door that says
[24:32]
computer.
Well, I'll just say we're changing
[24:36]
software.
>> Yeah.
[24:38]
» That'll be bad.
>> The same thing.
[24:41]
» Yeah. Computer's down, staff's going
crazy. Um, I spoke with Dean Brewer
[24:46]
yesterday, and I also talked to Nicole
um from do the assessor. Um, and we
[24:52]
would like to do the commitment on
September 16th,
[24:56]
which is the second select board meeting
in September. So, uh, I I haven't heard
[25:02]
back from Dean if that's going to be an
issue. So, I figure four o'clock on the
[25:06]
16th, we'll do the commitment. Nicole's
well aware of that.
[25:10]
» Okay.
>> Okay. Um,
[25:13]
we received, everybody saw the press
release in the folder. Um, we received a
[25:19]
dividend check from MMA for good
performance and loss prevention efforts
[25:22]
in the amount of $2,936.
So, that's always nice that we're
[25:26]
keeping our um loss prevention and uh
workman's comp down.
[25:32]
And then Allison and I are still working
on the Zoobo issue and um I spoke with
[25:36]
John Nolles last week and it was like he
had never heard of what was going on.
[25:41]
So, Allison put the timeline together.
We sent him pictures and finally hoping
[25:46]
to come to an end to getting this boat
removed. And the last thing I would like
[25:50]
to say is um happy belated birthday to
Debbie. your birthday yesterday. Was it
[25:57]
your birthday yesterday?
>> No,
[25:59]
» it is now.
[26:03]
» All right.
>> You know what? Maybe it was my
[26:05]
mother-in-law.
[26:08]
» That's right. Her name's Debbie.
[26:13]
» Thank you.
>> That was great.
[26:19]
» Okay.
>> Okay.
[26:21]
See David
moving on road commissions report. Yeah.
[26:27]
» Yes.
>> None whatsoever. Just the logging
[26:31]
complaints. The there's a big to-do on
Hedge bridge about the uh
[26:36]
» the tree cutting.
>> Yeah.
[26:39]
» That people are complaining that they're
starting 4 in the morning.
[26:43]
» Yeah.
>> And is that allowed or ramp?
[26:46]
» They're starting on Hedge bridge. Well,
the the complaint people on East Hedge
[26:50]
or Hedge bridge or
>> It's Hedge Road.
[26:53]
» It's Hedge bridge. So, not the Mountain
Road cutting problem.
[26:55]
» No, it's We've got Isn't it Hedge?
>> It is. It's Hedge Road.
[27:00]
» They're starting at 4 in the morning and
they've been doing it since August.
[27:04]
» Okay. Okay. So, Dale says they're
cutting across the bridge on the left
[27:07]
hand side.
>> Yeah.
[27:09]
Who's that?
>> That's not the CMP one we thought was
[27:12]
going on or whatever, but this guy is
Gavin's I don't know what his name is,
[27:16]
but um
48 acres.
[27:20]
» Yeah, big piece. They just cut on Samo
>> and they did the same thing.
[27:26]
» I wasn't aware of it.
>> But you know,
[27:30]
» yeah,
>> they must have flashlights.
[27:32]
» Yeah.
>> Well, they're trying to beat the heat.
[27:34]
That's what they're trying to do, Jack,
I think.
[27:35]
» Yeah. Well, is that a Are they allowed
to do that or
[27:39]
» Well, the other one, didn't we just say
if it was a forestry? Isn't that a
[27:42]
» Yeah, we don't. We really have no
control over that.
[27:46]
» Well, we have a noise ordinance. Do we
have a noise or we don't
[27:54]
know?
>> No, we don't. We don't on that.
[27:57]
» Happy birthday,
[28:02]
Kim needs a timeout. Hey, get more water
for her.
[28:07]
» She needs stronger than water.
[28:18]
» Go ahead.
>> I just had a question for you. Are they
[28:20]
sat construction? I see the stop lights
up on the old state road.
[28:23]
» They will be getting on that bridge.
Yeah.
[28:25]
» Well, they sat it. You know,
>> I don't know, but I see they turn the
[28:27]
light around today.
>> Probably next week. Absolutely.
[28:32]
» They they told us September 1st, but
quail.
[28:35]
» Yeah.
>> So, no, I have nothing else. We've uh I
[28:38]
checked on our roads today. They're very
good. Uh we got the brush ping, the
[28:42]
pings down, and we know and uh we're in
pretty good shape. The shape we're in
[28:47]
good. So,
>> all right.
[28:49]
» If I was the cutting out there, I I had
one little group with another cutting
[28:54]
company up on the mountain and they were
breaking the edge of the road off. I
[28:57]
went and spoke with them and told them
that they would stop if they don't stop
[29:02]
it and uh I don't know how far that went
but nonetheless
[29:06]
uh what kind of seem to be quite
ruthless.
[29:12]
» Well,
>> I don't know how can they start at the
[29:15]
morning.
>> Well, so what they do is they truck up
[29:19]
or something.
>> They get these big things nowadays. They
[29:23]
they just run a big machine
>> and David they got whites. They got
[29:26]
somebody left, but they get their permit
through the state and then and then we
[29:29]
get notified later.
>> We got notified.
[29:32]
» Yeah. And so I told
>> 4 a.m.
[29:35]
» 4 to 4.
>> Is that what it says?
[29:37]
» 4.
>> Yeah. So the state approves that. That's
[29:39]
kind of, you know, so I told somebody in
the hot road one to call the forestry
[29:43]
division and I, you know, I've dealt
with them in other towns. They should
[29:45]
come out and and that's kind of they put
four to four on their form. That's
[29:51]
» Well, they said it was supposed to start
on the 16th and the lady that called
[29:55]
today said it's been going since August
5th.
[29:58]
» What's that say?
>> It says 16th.
[30:00]
» Yeah,
>> it was early.
[30:04]
» Well, she said
>> I don't know. I don't think we got on
[30:09]
the same road.
>> No, really?
[30:13]
» Contact.
>> Yeah, you got a contact for because the
[30:16]
mountain road we didn't get notification
till later, right? Is there contact
[30:20]
information on that for on that
applicant?
[30:22]
» I don't see anything. It just says Gavin
Mlan is the management services. Gerald
[30:28]
Demato is the owner.
>> Yeah.
[30:32]
» Has anyone contacted the the wood cutter
themselves and ask?
[30:37]
I mean, it's worth a try.
I can't believe they want bad neighbors,
[30:42]
you know.
>> I don't think they care. Yeah, they
[30:45]
don't it it's kind of interesting that
that they put that on the form and then
[30:49]
the state agrees to it when you know
putting something at 4 in the morning
[30:55]
till the 16th of September.
>> Yeah,
[30:57]
» that's right.
>> I'll look for a state contact tomorrow.
[31:00]
» I can also reach out and say, you know,
maybe it's a matter of like updating
[31:05]
this form so it actually reflects what's
really going on and making sure that
[31:09]
it's in a time. the noise.
[31:14]
» No,
>> you you'd almost think that when they
[31:16]
get an application at the state level,
they'd send it to the town
[31:20]
» for a quick review before they issue it
because these these kind of things, not
[31:24]
knowing the neighborhoods.
>> Well, I think we did. I think the way I
[31:27]
could be wrong, but I think it says we
chose option whatever, which is the
[31:31]
state takes care of. They don't do
nothing.
[31:33]
» We did do that.
>> Oh, that's right.
[31:36]
» But you think they would we set up?
>> No, I agree. They let us know, but it's
[31:40]
just
>> I mean, why would the state say 4 in the
[31:42]
morning
>> because they don't
[31:46]
exactly
there? How
[31:49]
» I'll see what I can find out.
>> Okay.
[31:51]
» Office Mike.
>> Uh, last couple weeks, two building
[31:55]
permits, a residential roof, solar, and
a new principal structure on a George Ry
[31:59]
road. That's a new mobile home replacing
another one. Two internal plumbing
[32:04]
permits.
Uh quick update on the dock and ramp on
[32:08]
Barrett Sway on Twunky property. Their
lawyer has sent them
[32:13]
a a letter to remove remove it. So we'll
see how that goes. Deal with a civil
[32:19]
plot line issue on Western Road and I
mentioned the forest operation. And then
[32:25]
the deadline for the uh 1271 stage road,
the tires and the cars. That was Monday
[32:32]
was the last day and I heard nothing. So
my thought is it worked. My
[32:37]
recommendation would be that the next
letter goes says you have so many a date
[32:43]
without that data
fine after that kind of thing.
[32:47]
» Enforcement. So this is the the one
before the bridge.
[32:50]
» Oh yeah.
>> Tires.
[32:53]
Yeah. Yeah.
>> Cars.
[32:54]
» So what do we do? I mean
>> Well, I think I think we do have to keep
[32:57]
going on that one. That one's a
different issue than the other one. This
[33:01]
one and I saw the name was in that
>> list. Yeah.
[33:05]
» Yeah. I think I think it's we got to
>> So, do we senders?
[33:10]
» So, do we send another letter?
[33:15]
» I was wondering
>> what are we talking
[33:19]
about?
>> Well, the biggest thing is he didn't
[33:20]
hear a response and so I called him and
had him on the phone and he gave his
[33:24]
email address and I can't imagine the
guy hasn't got this stuff. So, it's the
[33:29]
next step like a certified
>> I think. Yeah, he's done 50 tires.
[33:34]
That's a state thing with D as well. I I
think a certified letter that says
[33:39]
because I it says here he could appeal
the letter. He didn't. And it says if
[33:43]
you don't if you don't do anything
within this time frame, we can't we can
[33:48]
by statute start enforcement action,
which would be a letter that says, you
[33:53]
know, by guess another deadline date,
but after that.
[33:58]
So, could we clean it up and then I
>> think we have to do the first thing
[34:02]
first.
>> Ding him for the
[34:04]
» I don't think we're there yet.
>> No, but that is
[34:07]
» down the road. Yeah, maybe.
>> Maybe we need to tell him that.
[34:13]
» Sorry about this.
>> Yeah, I mean, this is the first
[34:15]
enforcement that I wrote.
>> Not a big deal since I started here.
[34:19]
» That's right. Do you remember?
>> I started like four years ago, but
[34:22]
remember this has been a long,
>> but
[34:28]
Do you mind doing that?
>> No.
[34:31]
» We agree. I mean,
>> Mike, what's the issue on the Dark
[34:34]
Barrack way? Is it on the wrong?
>> It's on Chiwanki's property. So, if you
[34:39]
go, you familiar with the area, I
assume.
[34:41]
» Yeah.
>> You go across the cement bridge there.
[34:44]
That's all Chanki's property. They're
allowed to use it.
[34:46]
» Yeah.
>> Trail walks, fish, whatever.
[34:49]
» Yeah. gentleman that was with his
parents on that road has put a temporary
[34:55]
gang way and dock to get to his boat.
>> Kel Supre.
[35:00]
» Nobody's naming names on TV.
>> No, no, no. That's why I said it in
[35:04]
French.
>> So, yeah. And not very person as well.
[35:12]
So, but I mean it's there. It's clear.
I've read the deeds and I mean I don't
[35:16]
deal with that part of it. It's
unpermitted through us, so I could go
[35:20]
that way, too.
>> Um, D claims that he doesn't need a
[35:24]
permit there, but
>> but it's not, but it does need to be on
[35:29]
his property.
>> Yes.
[35:31]
» A permit from us, right?
>> Yeah.
[35:33]
» The gentleman up by point contact you
about building a dock. I told him I told
[35:40]
him that we had no waterfront rules, but
I said it is a structure. I said I
[35:44]
believe you're going to have to have a
building from
[35:48]
his name
>> for a dog.
[35:50]
» No, he's got it's going to be a
structure. It's going to be a pier going
[35:56]
out, not a dog.
>> Yeah, I haven't heard anything yet.
[35:59]
» No, I don't think so.
>> Is that the is that there must be a
[36:03]
certain size below which you don't have
to get a lease from parks and lands for
[36:08]
that kind of stuff?
>> I think it it matters if it's temporary,
[36:11]
seasonal.
>> Okay.
[36:13]
» And I I think it anything that's
permanent permanent here permanent
[36:19]
» that kind of stuff requires DP a lot of
time army corps
[36:23]
» but even even temporary require a permit
from you though
[36:26]
» yes
>> that's the thing at minimum it requires
[36:30]
a local permit
>> correct
[36:33]
» it's on the land
[36:40]
» no
Right. Well, there's common land.
[36:44]
» Common land. Yeah. And they the common
land has
[36:49]
» I don't know that shape, but common land
has looks like there's a couple dogs.
[36:54]
They've been in the grass for a while.
>> Yeah. Yeah.
[36:56]
» But it's not
anybody else.
[37:03]
» Thank you. I wonder whose that was
direct.
[37:07]
» I don't make this. Um we've had 18 calls
so far this month. um one each related
[37:13]
dres acid uh with 19 patients 16
transports and we called MC1 twice. Uh
[37:21]
we have a training next Tuesday on the
use of the life packibrillator and um
[37:27]
interpreting cardiac rhythms. Um it is
actually um and that's at 6:30 next
[37:33]
Tuesday. Um yeah there emergency
management exercise
[37:42]
has incident in Witch during it. We all
survived. We just had to evacuate a lot
[37:46]
of people
>> and he disappeared. But
[37:48]
» yeah, they told me I had to go. So I was
kicked out. But um yeah, I think it was
[37:53]
good for people to see what actually
happened in the emergency operations.
[37:58]
» No, I learned a lot.
>> And also thank you Jason for arranging
[38:02]
the installation of the power outlet in
the room for whenever
[38:07]
we're ready.
And that's it. Anybody have any
[38:12]
questions today? Okay, thank you.
>> 11 calls so far this month. Um, checked
[38:20]
out the North Face the other day. That
looks fine. Looks good to me. The only
[38:24]
concern is he hasn't picked up with all
of his stuff yet.
[38:29]
» That's Yeah, that that shed has become
the storage facility for his painting
[38:34]
supplies. I see.
>> It's always something. He's got a
[38:39]
ladder, nifty paint tails and brushes
and other things that need to go. This
[38:44]
building looks great.
>> Yeah,
[38:45]
» I'm happy with the building.
>> Anyway, that's that um
[38:53]
» the I reached out to the sign company
there that um you mentioned. Um have a
[38:58]
couple
ideas for them I've sent over. So, we'll
[39:02]
see what they get back to me with that
as far as pricing goes. Um annual host
[39:08]
testing was completed uh Monday. Um we
had um just over 12,000 ft of hose
[39:14]
tested and uh
150 ft. So three sections of that failed
[39:20]
which is normal. We always lose at least
two or three a year. So um not too bad.
[39:25]
Um the only other thing we're going to
be attending the annual block party at
[39:29]
the school on the 26th. Um, they host in
the summer kind of back in the school
[39:36]
mode.
>> Oh, August.
[39:38]
» Yeah. Yeah.
>> What time?
[39:40]
» 5 to 7 p.m.
>> 5 to 7.
[39:47]
» And that is all I have.
>> So, they've looked at it. Um, we haven't
[39:54]
we did a lot the last two nights have
been a lot of work in the hose, so we
[39:57]
haven't had time to mess with it. But it
it's very evident to me that it needs to
[40:01]
be fixed because of the hose. The amount
of hose we had to manually hold just
[40:06]
have all the cable jammed.
>> It's jammed up. It won't we we threw I
[40:12]
bet you we threw 300 lb of hose on it
and it wouldn't even budge. So, it needs
[40:16]
to be I think we're going to have to
hook something to it and force it to
[40:20]
come back down. either that take it down
and then physically work on it. But
[40:25]
yeah, as long be fun.
>> Is there a way
[40:29]
it to lower it down small or something?
>> Maybe. I mean, we have pulleys up there.
[40:35]
We We have rope pulley, but
>> it's just going to be a matter. I mean,
[40:38]
I can hook another We have three trucks
of wenches. I can hook a truck winch to
[40:42]
it and we we'll get it down.
It's just a matter I mean, you go up in
[40:47]
that post tower when it's 70 degrees
down here, it's 85 up there. It's just
[40:51]
an oven.
>> Are you going to try some more weight
[40:53]
first or is that
>> I don't think the weight I think it
[40:55]
needs to physically be
>> pulled down. I think it needs to either,
[40:59]
you know, be forced to come back up
because it'll try the the motor. It's
[41:02]
not bound up. The motors, you know, you
can hear it spin. You can see it. It
[41:05]
wants to spool, but it's
>> it's the problem is it doesn't have a
[41:09]
fail. So, it it it winds up only the
best you can do when you go up and down.
[41:14]
» So, it you know, after 10 20 years of
use, it's done the same same way.
[41:21]
or whatever. Yeah.
>> Yeah. Exactly. So, we're gonna try.
[41:26]
We'll get it down. And then, my guess is
it probably needs a new cable. That
[41:30]
cable's, you know, I the pictures that
I've seen of it up up top, it's all, you
[41:34]
know, that you can see that's got phrase
on it. And, you know, it's not one you
[41:37]
want to hold with your hand. So, um, but
but it needs to be it's it's a it's a
[41:43]
tool that like we we have hung all that
hose by hand. And I'll tell you what,
[41:47]
» wet hose is heavy. So,
>> it's a it's a necessity, but we'll stay
