[0:08] Bonsoir et bienvenue ? la s?ance

[0:13] lundi le 17 juin.
[0:15] >> Welcome to the regular
[0:16] meeting of the municipal council
[0:17] of Monday, June 17th.
[0:29] Adoption de l'ordre du jour de
[0:31] la s?ance ordinaire du conseil
[0:32] de la ville de Beaconsfield du
[0:34] 17 juin 2024.
[0:40] - Second?.
[0:43] - ? l'unanimit?.
[0:49] -
[0:50] - Alors maintenant, on va faire
[0:53] la pr?sentation de la Bourse
[0:58] comm?morative
[0:59] (---)
[1:00] 2024. La bourse comm?morative
[1:01] tout a ?t? instaur?e en 1996 en
[1:05] m?moire du r?v?rend Frank tout
[1:07] et de son ?pouse. Cette bourse
[1:10] vise ? souligner le r?le positif
[1:13] que jouent les jeunes dans notre
[1:16] collectivit?. Les bourses tout
[1:19] sont grandement appr?ci?es par
[1:20] les ?coles, les jeunes qui les
[1:24] re?oivent, et leurs familles.
[1:26] Elles sont une partie importante
[1:28] des services de soutien que nous
[1:30] offrons ? nos jeunes. La bourse
[1:35] comm?morative est d?cern?
[1:37] annuellement ? deux ?tudiants de
[1:38] la ville de Beaconsfield qui ont
[1:39] de bons r?sultats scolaires et
[1:41] qui contribuent ? la vie
[1:44] communautaire pour leur offrir
[1:45] un soutien financier ? la
[1:47] formation continue. En plus de
[1:49] la Bourse, les ?tudiants
[1:51] re?oivent une plaque
[1:53] comm?morative ainsi qu'une carte
[1:54] loisirs annuel familiale.
[1:58] Exceptionnellement, cette ann?e,
[2:00] nous n'avons aucun
[2:03] r?cipiendaires, une ?l?ve
[2:04] provenant de la commission
[2:06] scolaire Lester B. Pearson.
[2:07] Aucun ?l?ves de la commission
[2:09] scolaire Marguerite-Bourgeoys ne
[2:10] s'est qualifi? cette ann?e. La
[2:13] r?cipiendaire pour l'ann?e 2024
[2:16] est Catherine car Donna. --
[2:20] Graduating student from St.
[2:22] Thomas High School. Catherine is
[2:23] deeply engaged in her high
[2:25] school's student life. She
[2:28] excels in her student leadership
[2:30] course, where she has played a
[2:32] key role in organizing events,
[2:34] such as the Terry Fox walk and
[2:37] it's fundraisers. The student
[2:39] carnival and holiday food drive.
[2:42] Additionally, she has
[2:43] contributed to the planning of
[2:44] all school dances and the spring
[2:47] for local seniors. She not only
[2:51] maintains an overall average of
[2:54] 86%, that's great, earning her
[2:57] spot on the St. Thomas High
[2:58] School honour roll, she also is
[3:00] one of the leaders on the girls
[3:03] juvenile basketball team and
[3:05] girls rugby team that competed
[3:07] in the Greater Montr?al athletic
[3:10] association. Kathryn exemplifies
[3:12] what it means to be a leadership
[3:15] student. Her intellect, paired
[3:17] with her unwavering work ethic,
[3:20] consistently places her among
[3:22] the top achievers in her grade.
[3:25] On behalf of the city of
[3:27] Beaconsfield, it gives us great
[3:29] pleasure to offer her the 2024
[3:33] Tupe Memorial scholarship. Ces
[3:37] r?alisations exceptionnelle, son
[3:39] engagement en faveur de
[3:40] l'excellence acad?mique et ses
[3:42] contributions remarquables lui
[3:43] ont valu la bourse
[3:47] comm?morative. Nous la
[3:48] f?licitons chaleureusement et
[3:49] nous lui souhaitons une bonne
[3:52] continuation dans ces projets.
[3:53] En plus d'une bourse de 1000
[3:55] dollars, nous lui offrons une
[3:56] carte loisirs familial pour une
[3:58] p?riode de 12 mois. So, I will
[4:01] ask Kathryn to come up in front
[4:03] here.
[4:08] [Applause]
[4:51] [Applause]
[5:28] J'ai aussi ? f?liciter les
[5:33] athl?tes de Beaconsfield a cette
[5:37] s?ance ce soir. Il y a quatre
[5:41] athl?tes extraordinaires de
[5:42] Beaconsfield a f?licit? ce soir.
[5:44] Au nom de la ville, je suis tr?s
[5:46] fi?re de c?l?brer les
[5:47] r?alisation remarquable dossier
[5:49] jeune. The first athlete is
[5:54] Patrick -- from a young age, he
[5:55] had an interest in swimming. In
[5:58] winter, he swam with the
[6:00] Pointe-Claire swimming team. But
[6:02] on sunny summer days, he trained
[6:05] at the beacon hill pool and the
[6:07] Windermere pool. La bonne
[6:10] nouvelle est que gr?ce ? son
[6:11] talent, sa pers?v?rance et son
[6:13] d?vouement, il repr?sentera le
[6:16] Canada aux Jeux olympiques de
[6:19] Paris en nageant au sein de
[6:20] l'?quipe de relais dans
[6:24] l'?preuve quatre fois 200
[6:26] m?tres. Congratulations,
[6:28] Patrick. Two other high-level
[6:30] young athletes from Beaconsfield
[6:31] must be highlighted this
[6:33] evening, since they were awarded
[6:35] the IO Foundation scholarship.
[6:38] The two athletes are oh fairly
[6:42] -- who stands out in hockey at
[6:46] the attacking position and
[6:48] Christopher Buller, who excels
[6:50] by practising diving. C'est deux
[6:53] enqu?tes ont ?t? recommand?es
[6:54] pour leur talent, leurs
[6:55] r?alisations sportive et leur
[6:57] parcours acad?mique
[7:00] exceptionnel. Cette bourse
[7:01] permet un r?cipiendaire de
[7:04] c?l?brer
[7:05] (---)
[7:06] le plus au sommaire sur le plan
[7:07] ?ducatif est sportif. The fourth
[7:09] athlete is named Felix
[7:13] Cousineau. He developed his
[7:14] passion for cycling since he
[7:16] used it as a means of
[7:18] transportation during his
[7:20] studies in Rimouski. Back in
[7:23] Beaconsfield, he travelled by
[7:25] bike, morning and evening, rain
[7:27] or shine, to his job in
[7:30] Montr?al. I have to tell Felix
[7:32] that madame -- would really,
[7:35] really appreciate his effort to
[7:38] take his bike all the way from
[7:40] Beaconsfield to Montr?al. Gr?ce
[7:43] ? un entra?nement rigoureux, il
[7:45] a particip? r?cemment a une
[7:47] comp?tition de 885 kilom?tres en
[7:53] ?cosse, dont les niveler ?tait
[7:55] tr?s important. I have to point
[7:57] out that the high point was
[7:58] about 770 metres and the total
[8:04] ascent was 16,002 metres. So, it
[8:09] certainly was not just a flat
[8:13] course. Il a termin? la
[8:15] comp?tition en cinq jours, ce
[8:18] qui signifie qu'? 22 ans, il
[8:20] ?tait le plus jeune de
[8:22] l'histoire de cette comp?tition
[8:24] ? l'avoir termin? jusqu'? la
[8:25] fin. F?licitations, F?lix.
[8:28] Congratulations to all these
[8:30] young people.
[8:37] (applaudissements)
[8:38] Alors maintenant, nous allons
[8:39] demander aux commandants de
[8:40] venir faire son rapport sur les
[8:41] activit?s ? Beaconsfield durant
[8:42] le dernier mois.

[10:37] collaboration encore une fois
[10:38] avec la s?curit? publique. Et
[10:40] tout au long de l'?v?nement et
[10:41] aussi, une belle participation
[10:43] des citoyens qui ?taient
[10:44] majoritairement des enfants le
[10:46] 31 mai, ? l'?cole Sainte-Edmund,
[10:49] c'?tait la participation du
[10:51] (---)

[11:34] sur le registre des personnes
[11:37] vuln?rables et une personne a
[11:38] ?t? r?f?r? ? l'appel de l'amiti?
[11:40] de Beaconsfield. Juste pour vous
[11:44] mettre en contexte, cette ann?e,
[11:46] on parle d'un total, une
[11:49] pr?sence sur le terrain des
[11:50] policiers pour le porte-?-porte,
[11:51] on parle de 12 heures. 392
[11:54] porteurs qui ont ?t? cogn?. 207,
[12:00] ouvertes, 51 personnes
[12:01] rencontr?es ?tait dans la

[12:29] juin, ? l'h?tel de ville,
[12:30] c'?tait la rencontre avec le
[12:32] responsable du projet connectons
[12:33] pour la Ville de Beaconsfield en
[12:34] tant que partenaires
[12:35] communautaires. Pour la
[12:37] criminalit?, les ?v?nements
[12:38] signal?s, je suis heureux de
[12:39] vous annoncer que ?a a ?t? un
[12:41] mois tr?s, tr?s tranquille. On
[12:43] parle de un m?fait sur une
[12:44] r?sidence et de deux ?v?nements
[12:45] de voies de fait. Aucun vol de
[12:48] v?hicules ce mois-ci. Merci de
[12:50] votre confiance. Vous pouvez en
[12:52] tout temps composer le 2010 0
[12:55] (---)
[12:56] pour joindre le poste de
[12:57] quartier un ou envoyer un
[13:00] courriel a
[13:01] (---)
[13:03] Thank you for your confidence,
[13:04] you may call it anytime. Five
[13:07] 142800101. Or send an email to
[13:09] PDQ1 at SPVM point Q C point C
[13:12] A. Thank you. - Est-ce qu'il a
[13:15] des questions pour le
[13:16] commandant? Pas de questions
[13:22] pour le commandant? Alors je
[13:25] vais vous f?liciter pour les
[13:27] programmes avec les a?n?s. C'est
[13:29] un excellent programme et ?a va
[13:32] donner des tr?s, tr?s bon
[13:35] r?sultat. F?licitations ? l?
[13:37] SPVM pour ce programme. C'est
[13:39] r?ellement bien appr?ci?. Je
[13:40] suis certain de tout, les a?n?s.
[13:43] - Merci, Monsieur le Maire.
[13:44] Comme je vous l'avez dit quand
[13:45] j'?tais arriv? en poste, c'?tait
[13:46] ma priorit? au PQ, c'?tait un
[13:50] enjeu aussi, les fraudes, la
[13:52] pr?vention qu'on devait faire au
[13:54] niveau des a?n?s. Donc je suis
[13:55] content des efforts d?ploy?s par
[13:57] les policiers au poste.
[13:59] - Merci beaucoup et je suis
[14:03] tr?s... pas heureux de voir
[14:05] autant de vitesse dans notre
[14:09] ville. Mais heureusement, vous
[14:12] faites de la bonne surveillance.
[14:14] Si les gens arr?tent de faire de
[14:16] la vitesse, ils n'auront pas de
[14:18] billet.
[14:19] - Exactement. C'est pas le
[14:20] nombre de constats, c'est
[14:21] vraiment avoir un impact sur la
[14:22] s?curit? routi?re. C'est le
[14:24] message qu'on essaye de passer
[14:26] sur la route.
[14:27] - C'est clair, c'est clair que
[14:28] les gens encore exc?de beaucoup
[14:31] les limites de vitesse dans la
[14:33] ville, malheureusement.
[14:34] - Oui, il y a du travail ?
[14:35] faire, vous avez raison.
[14:36] - Merci beaucoup.
[14:43] And now, you know, we've had a
[14:47] lot of power outages in
[14:51] Beaconsfield past few months,
[14:55] and I have heard a lot of
[14:57] complaints from many residents.
[15:00] Unfortunately, there is very
[15:02] little we can do with
[15:06] Hydro-Qu?bec, other than make
[15:08] them aware that we have power
[15:10] outages all the time. But I
[15:13] decided that I should write a
[15:16] letter to the president of
[15:20] Hydro-Qu?bec, Mr. Michael Sciba,
[15:23] and I will read the letter that
[15:25] I sent him. It is a French
[15:29] letter, so I will read it in
[15:32] French.
[15:34] - Le 6 juin 2024, monsieur
[15:38] Michael tibia,
[15:40] pr?sident-directeur g?n?ral
[15:44] d'Hydro-Qu?bec,
[15:45] (---)
[15:46] une porte unit? exceptionnel
[15:47] pour un r?sultat durable.
[15:48] Monsieur le pr?sident directeur
[15:49] g?n?ral, je vous ai cr??e au nom
[15:51] des 20000 personnes que je
[15:53] repr?sente ? Beaconsfield et qui
[15:57] vivent depuis les r?centes
[15:58] ann?es des interruptions de
[16:00] services de plus en plus
[16:03] fr?quentes, inattendu, de
[16:05] surcro?t de plus en plus
[16:07] longues. Souvent, de plusieurs
[16:09] jours, ? cause des changements
[16:11] climatiques qui fragilisent
[16:12] votre r?seau de fils a?riens
[16:14] dans une ville comme la n?tre.
[16:17] Dot? d'une forte et dense for?t
[16:20] urbaines, ce joyau
[16:23] environnementale commun est de
[16:24] qualit? contribue de mani?re
[16:26] importante ? r?duire les gaz ?
[16:27] effet de serre dans la lutte
[16:30] mondiale que nous devons tous et
[16:32] toutes men?e pour contribuer
[16:35] pour contrer le r?chauffement
[16:37] climatique. Les enjeux d'une
[16:40] soci?t?, tout comme les
[16:41] responsabilit?s des
[16:42] gestionnaires publics, nous
[16:44] incite ? innover dans nos
[16:45] mani?res de faire pour changer
[16:47] nos modes de vie pour ?tre plus
[16:49] et courir... ?coresponsable, que
[16:52] ce soit dans le choix de nos
[16:53] habitudes de vie, type
[16:55] d'habitation, modes de transport
[16:57] et de consommation, ainsi que
[16:59] par la densification et
[17:01] l'am?nagement de nos
[17:02] territoires. Avec une population
[17:06] qui vieillit et qui d?sirent
[17:07] demeurer autonome, il est
[17:09] essentiel de pouvoir assurer la
[17:12] continuit? et la fiabilit? de
[17:14] l'alimentation ?lectrique
[17:15] partout, en tout temps. Dans cet
[17:18] objectif, il est essentiel de
[17:20] revoir et repenser les
[17:23] am?nagements d'antan afin qu'il
[17:24] puisse r?pondre mieux,
[17:26] efficacement, et de mani?re
[17:27] p?renne au bouleversements
[17:29] climatiques.
[17:45] qu'elles ?taient occasionnelle,
[17:48] voire rare.
[18:40] d'entretien soit adapt? ? notre
[18:42] territoire et non et ?tre
[18:44] appliqu? comme partout ailleurs.
[18:46] Il est essentiel de tenir compte
[18:48] de l'importance majeure du
[18:51] couvert
[18:52] (---)
[18:53] ? Beaconsfield. Il en r?sultera
[18:54] ? court et ? moyen terme moins
[18:56] d'intervention inattendu et
[18:59] urgent, une plus grande
[19:00] stabilit? du service est moindre
[19:03] inconv?nient pour notre
[19:05] population. Dans un second
[19:06] temps, il faut revoir ? long
[19:10] terme l'enti?ret? du r?seau
[19:13] a?riens, vieillit, et qui doit
[19:14] ?tre r?nov?e dans son ensemble
[19:17] et de saisir cette opportunit?
[19:19] pour enfouir les c?bles de
[19:21] distribution ?lectrique.
[19:24] Ind?niablement, il s'agit d'un
[19:25] choix important, porteurs d'un
[19:27] avenir meilleur. On s'entend que
[19:30] les co?ts d'une telle
[19:32] am?lioration sont ?lev?s. Mais
[19:34] ils vont garantir de mani?re
[19:36] durable ?cologique la fiabilit?
[19:38] du r?seau lui-m?me et du coup,
[19:43] celui de l'alimentation
[19:44] ?lectrique des sites
[19:46] (---)
[19:47] ? Beaconsfield. C'est un choix
[19:48] d'autant plus responsable qu'en
[19:49] plus de garantir une qualit? de
[19:51] vie et une tranquillit? d'esprit
[19:53] de l'ensemble de la population,
[19:55] ils limitera l'intervention sur
[19:57] notre for?t urbaine pour
[20:00] Hydro-Qu?bec. Il y aura le
[20:03] b?n?fice suppl?mentaire de
[20:04] cesser le d?ployer
[20:06] p?riodiquement des ?quipes
[20:08] (---)
[20:09] sans compter le co?t des
[20:10] op?rations d'urgence lorsque les

[21:23] directeur g?n?ral, l'expression

[21:26] Brett, maire de Beaconsfield.
[21:29] Cette lettre a ?t? envoy? le 6
[21:34] juin, je ne me rappelle pas
[21:35] d'avoir eu une r?ponse ? date.
[21:39] Alors maintenant, nous allons
[21:41] passer aux questions ?crites. La
[21:45] premi?re question est de
[21:49] monsieur Michael gros Berg, ils
[21:52] s'aident Place. >> Deposit for
[21:56] tree felling. What was the 500
[22:00] dollar deposit to post on --
[22:02] tree felling permit without any
[22:04] consultation? What is the
[22:05] mechanism to be exempt from
[22:08] $500, since it has a cost in
[22:10] addition to selling 1 to 5
[22:12] trees? Can the deposit be
[22:14] deferred in the event of a
[22:15] felling permit being issued
[22:17] during late fall or winter
[22:18] months? Assuming someone does
[22:20] not replace the felled tree
[22:22] within one year of the permit
[22:24] being issued, will the deposit
[22:26] be re-funded once finds began
[22:29] being levied? Will deposit funds
[22:32] be used to pay for the initial
[22:34] fines? Also, why isn't the
[22:37] deposit refund that time of the
[22:38] tree being felled, given that
[22:39] the permit is fundamentally for
[22:42] felling trees and given that
[22:44] fines are imposed for failing to
[22:47] replace the felled tree? Voici
[22:51] la r?ponse ? monsieur.
[23:03] -- With the emerald ash borer
[23:05] and the cities mature tree park,
[23:06] there's been a significant loss
[23:07] of canopy in recent years. Not
[23:10] only does this canopy provide
[23:13] ecological services, notably in
[23:15] terms of reducing heat islands
[23:17] and improving air quality, it's
[23:19] also a notable feature of our
[23:22] city. To verify tree
[23:26] replacements requires a lot of
[23:27] human resources and when it's
[23:29] not done, many interventions. To
[23:32] help meet the demand, the city
[23:34] offers a service -- a turnkey
[23:37] service from the purchase to the
[23:38] planting of the tree on the
[23:40] site. Offering a subsidy on the
[23:43] purchase cost as well. Tree
[23:46] replacement which must be
[23:47] carried out within 12 months is
[23:49] included in the zoning bylaw.
[23:51] The public consultation was held
[23:53] on this subject on February, 20,
[23:57] 2023. -- The tariff bylaw, which
[23:59] provides the deposit, was
[24:01] amended in 2022. This bylaw does
[24:04] not require consultation. The
[24:06] objective behind the deposit is
[24:08] to preserve the city's canopy.
[24:11] There's no mechanism to be
[24:13] exempted from the deposit. The
[24:15] 12 month deadline for
[24:17] replacement as stipulated in the
[24:18] regulations covers the three
[24:20] seasons, during which it is
[24:21] possible to plant, in addition
[24:23] to being able to benefit from
[24:25] the green program. Reimbursement
[24:27] is made once the replacement has
[24:30] been made. If any statements of
[24:33] offence are issued in the
[24:34] process, these must be paid to
[24:36] the municipal court. As these
[24:38] are two different processes and
[24:41] instances, the amounts cannot be
[24:43] combined or deducted from each
[24:44] other. The fine for failing to
[24:47] replace a tree is $200, plus
[24:50] court costs. The fine for
[24:51] failing a tree without a permit
[24:53] is 20 $500, plus $500 per tree,
[24:57] that is minimum of $3,000, plus
[25:00] court costs. That's the answer
[25:04] to Mr. remembered. Next question
[25:10] is from Nicole Colorado --
[25:15] subject, demolition of existing
[25:17] buildings and construction of
[25:18] new buildings. Mrs. Colorado
[25:21] indicates her objections to the
[25:23] demolition of 107 woodland and
[25:26] 185 Lakeview, and her objections
[25:28] to the new building at 66 St.
[25:31] Louis and 520 -- Rockville and
[25:34] the extension at 74 79 Saint
[25:37] Andrew. So, Madam Corrado, the
[25:42] opposition of the new demolition
[25:45] requests should be sent to the
[25:48] demolition committee, so if you
[25:49] have any objections, please
[25:51] address it to the demolition
[25:55] committee. Next question, item
[25:59] Putin of rolling street. Wood
[26:02] burning. I have sent you an
[26:04] email concerning your requests
[26:06] exclusion to environmental
[26:07] improvement recently. I have not
[26:09] got any response from you. Did
[26:11] you receive it? If you did, may
[26:15] I have an answer from you? How
[26:17] are you going to take action to
[26:19] prevent -- Beaconsfield from
[26:21] their neighbours air pollution
[26:23] behaviour? Adam, this is my
[26:27] answer to your question. Your
[26:30] question was answered during the
[26:31] march council session. The
[26:34] recording is available online.
[26:38] As indicated in March, the
[26:41] enforcement is primarily
[26:43] complaints based. We have not
[26:45] received any complaints and no
[26:47] infraction has been issued to
[26:50] date. We reiterate that if you
[26:52] are witnessing in your
[26:55] neighbourhood continuous
[26:57] burning, please do not hesitate
[26:59] to call Municipal patrol and
[27:02] give them the address right
[27:06] away. As indicated in March, a
[27:08] permit is required in order to
[27:11] install a compliant fireplace.
[27:15] Documentation is required in
[27:16] order to obtain the permit,
[27:19] showing the make and model, and
[27:21] the location in the home. Next
[27:25] question is from Tom Labelle,
[27:29] she -- unkempt properties. The
[27:33] grass on the side of the house
[27:35] at 162 Robert has a section
[27:38] that's close to four feet high.
[27:41] The property on Stonehenge is
[27:44] still a pig pen. There have been
[27:48] a container on the side of the
[27:50] house for over nine months. This
[27:53] property is a disaster. When can
[27:56] we expect the City to fix these
[27:59] issues? Concerning the house on
[28:01] Beaurepaire, the city is aware
[28:03] and acting in accordance with
[28:05] the nuisance bylaw. We will keep
[28:08] monitoring the situation and
[28:11] apply our bylaw. You also
[28:14] mentioned an address on
[28:17] Stonehenge, the property was
[28:18] cleaned last week by the City.
[28:26] And our several questions from
[28:30] Caroline Malcolm from Montrose.
[28:33] The first one is speed bumps at
[28:35] Montrose and Sherbrooke. Hello,
[28:38] status on the speed bumps at the
[28:40] intersection of Montrose and
[28:42] Sherbrooke. Speeding on the
[28:44] public road is a concern for all
[28:45] of us. Our roads are shared by
[28:48] pedestrians, cyclists, scooters,
[28:49] and cars. The space is finite.
[28:53] Many people are rushed,
[28:56] distracted, and multitasking as
[28:57] they walk right by and drive
[29:00] cars. Police cannot be
[29:03] everywhere and would like to
[29:04] know the status of road calming
[29:06] measures as the speed bumps have
[29:08] been asked for since August
[29:10] 23rd, 2023 at the Montrose,
[29:13] Sherbrooke intersection. When I
[29:14] was actually injured by a
[29:16] tractor truck negligently left
[29:18] the backdoor of his truck open
[29:20] and the host dragging on the
[29:22] ground picked up speed as it
[29:24] unraveled, causing me to fall.
[29:26] My puppy is now one year old. I
[29:30] must maintain constant vigilance
[29:31] as this intersection is busy and
[29:35] unfortunately, people do not
[29:36] always stop at the three stop
[29:38] signs at this intersection. I
[29:41] remind you that there is a park
[29:43] bus stop, elementary school, at
[29:45] this intersection. Again, I
[29:47] attest that the speed humps in
[29:49] Sherbrooke work. I have not
[29:50] heard from the traffic Advisory
[29:52] Committee. Madam Malcolm, on
[29:56] this one question, a similar
[29:57] request was refused by a traffic
[29:58] advisory committee previously.
[29:59] Madame Malcolm.
[30:03] There's a raised intersection at
[30:05] the corner of Montrose and North
[30:08] Cliff, therefore, the city will
[30:10] not add this speed bump.
[30:12] However, I really recommend to
[30:17] you to whenever you witnessed
[30:20] people not observing stop signs
[30:24] or speeding, please call the
[30:27] SPVM and if you check the
[30:32] earlier speech that the -- made,
[30:37] he gave you a number to call and
[30:39] you can call the SPVM, and I can
[30:42] assure you that they will pay
[30:45] special attention to your area
[30:47] if you have a complaint about
[30:49] speeding and stop signs.
[30:52] Question two. Lawsuit with City
[30:55] of Montr?al for -- status on the
[30:59] taxes with the City of Montr?al
[31:00] lawsuit and the situation of the
[31:02] parking spots at the West Island
[31:03] REM stations. Given mayor's --
[31:09] mismanagement of the -- 2024,
[31:13] and her administration support
[31:15] financial record, I fear that
[31:16] she will bankrupt the City of
[31:19] Montr?al and expect us all to
[31:21] pay for her pet projects and
[31:24] deficits. She seems to not
[31:26] understand that we need tourist
[31:28] dollars business. And that she
[31:31] cannot keep taxing businesses,
[31:33] homeowners, and car drivers. I
[31:35] have written to her asking that
[31:37] she implements a license fee tax
[31:40] on cyclists and BIXI. The answer
[31:43] was that it is too costly to
[31:45] implement. I do not agree. It is
[31:47] a farce that she's making a plan
[31:50] for 2050 without a plan on how
[31:52] to pay for it. She highly
[31:56] overspent on the renovations for
[31:57] city hall, which took five years
[31:59] to complete, and we have a
[32:00] homeless and housing crisis. I
[32:02] have no desire to take my car
[32:04] into the city, due to the
[32:06] traffic congestion and lack of
[32:10] parking. By the way, there was a
[32:15] pre-budget commission, finance
[32:18] commission held a prebudget
[32:21] hearing recently and you could
[32:25] have submitted a brief to that
[32:30] commission on license fee and
[32:36] taxes on cyclists and BIXI. I
[32:39] agree with you that they are not
[32:42] paying anything for the service
[32:44] of the road and, but you should
[32:48] have actually submitted a brief
[32:50] to that commission pre-budget
[32:56] hearing. As far as the lawsuit
[33:02] with the city, I have to tell
[33:05] you that the parties are
[33:07] analyzing the experts reports
[33:10] and that is now taking place,
[33:15] and the lawyers will then go to
[33:17] court to obtain hearing dates.
[33:21] It is not going to be very
[33:23] short. I don't expect that the
[33:25] hearing date is going to be in
[33:26] the next few months. Now you
[33:31] talk about Madam Malcolm, if you
[33:36] talk about the parking at the
[33:37] REM station. Well, Beaconsfield
[33:41] residents be allowed to park at
[33:42] the West Island REM stations? I
[33:44] hope that there are enough
[33:45] tourists to compensate for
[33:46] greater Montr?al citizens not
[33:49] going into the city. There is
[33:51] currently no efficient public
[33:52] transportation that makes sense
[33:54] for most of the West Island. The
[33:56] STM is running a deficit. Please
[33:59] advise what you can do as
[34:01] concerned citizens, as we are
[34:02] being taxed without
[34:04] representation. Thank you for
[34:05] your time and consideration. For
[34:08] the parking question, you should
[34:13] actually send your concerns and
[34:16] your suggestions to CDPQ infra,
[34:20] who operates the REM. I know
[34:23] that the STM is reviewing the
[34:26] transit, transportation plan in
[34:29] order to create better access to
[34:32] the REM by transit and I will
[34:34] make a few comments on that
[34:36] later. Kirkland has also stated
[34:39] that its ramp arcing will be
[34:42] exclusive to Kirkland residents.
[34:45] I believe there are only 200
[34:47] parking spots and Kirkland has
[34:52] actually made a deal with a
[34:54] developer to provide those 200
[34:57] spots, but it will be exclusive
[35:00] to Kirkland residents. And
[35:03] Montr?al has indicated it will
[35:04] not support additional parking
[35:06] for the REM. So, the only way
[35:09] for Beaconsfield residents to
[35:12] get to the REM will be the
[35:15] following. The following
[35:18] choices. By walking, by bike, by
[35:22] public transit, limited, which
[35:25] is inadequate right now, or by
[35:30] taxi. Yes, there will be an
[35:34] increase on the registration tax
[35:37] to support public transit on
[35:40] cars. Registration tax on cars
[35:43] will go from $59 to $150 on
[35:49] January, 2025. This is to
[35:53] support the public transit and,
[35:55] which is totally inadequate when
[35:58] it comes to Beaconsfield and
[36:00] certainly inadequate to get us
[36:02] to the REM. Madame Malcolm,
[36:08] Montr?al controls all decisions
[36:11] taken on public transit and
[36:16] Montr?al is in a mission to
[36:18] illuminate as many cars as
[36:20] possible from the road. Montr?al
[36:24] does not understand the reality
[36:27] of the West Island. Next
[36:32] question is from Mr. Derek
[36:34] pounds and I will pass that one
[36:38] to Mr. Boileau, director
[36:41] general, I've answered enough
[36:43] questions already.
[36:45] >> Thank you, Mister, so, hello,
[36:47] Mr. pounced. Fancier question,
[36:49] since this project that's a
[36:51] continuation since 2017, we've
[36:55] held it's much more beneficial
[36:56] for the City to keep the same
[36:58] consultant, therefore, we are
[36:59] proposing to award a contract by
[37:01] mutual agreement within the
[37:02] limits of the applaudable
[37:04] contract rules. The -- is
[37:07] partial since it's not necessary
[37:09] for the designer engineer to be
[37:11] present full-time, since we have
[37:13] our own inspectors. The --
[37:16] amount of -- is not included in
[37:18] the boring bylaw, it will be
[37:19] financed by the surplus reserved
[37:22] from professional services. The
[37:24] mandate does not include the
[37:26] large, sandy area and the
[37:28] intervention area is from the --
[37:30] to the east, the jetty and the
[37:32] small sandy space to the west. I
[37:36] do hope that answers your
[37:37] question, sir.
[37:38] >> Thank you, Mister wallow. And
[37:40] now we will go to the questions
[37:42] from the floor. I guess we went
[37:46] through a lot of questions and
[37:48] everybody has disappeared. So,
[37:51] anybody, do you have any
[37:53] questions? No, Yves, no
[37:56] questions? Thank you, okay, we
[37:58] will go on to the agenda.
[38:07] >> Thank you for being here.
[38:09] >> Yes, thank you for staying as
[38:12] long as you did.

[38:17] the city of Beaconsfield regular

[50:02] Minutes of the Environmental
[50:03] Advisory Committee meeting of
[50:04] May 7, 2024.
[50:09] The comments, Mister Chairman?
[50:11] >> Yes, Mister Mayor, thank you.
[50:14] The last committee meeting for
[50:15] the environmental committee, we
[50:18] were on priorities for the rest
[50:20] of this year and also into next
[50:22] year, and the three priorities
[50:27] the Environment committee had
[50:28] mentioned are the priority
[50:31] action number one, which is
[50:32] really the importance of trees.
[50:35] We have heard people talk about,
[50:37] you know, the cost of tree
[50:39] permits and the cost of falling
[50:41] trees and everything else, but I
[50:43] have to remind everybody that
[50:45] trees are very, very important
[50:48] not only to our city and our
[50:51] planet, but at the same time
[50:53] that we actually benefit from
[50:55] the air quality that trees
[50:57] produce, so they absorb carbon
[50:59] and they give off oxygen. So,
[51:02] where we get the air that we
[51:04] breathe is actually coming from
[51:06] the ocean instead of trees, so
[51:08] they are extremely important and
[51:09] we sometimes forget exactly what
[51:11] trees are doing and the
[51:13] importance, and at the same
[51:14] time, as we suggested before,
[51:16] they provide shade, they provide
[51:18] the canopy, at the same time,
[51:20] they provide the charm that many
[51:22] of our visitors who come to
[51:25] Beaconsfield just admire just
[51:26] how incredible we are as to have
[51:28] all these trees and that cottage
[51:32] field atmosphere. So, at the
[51:35] same time, I would just remind
[51:36] everyone that the City does have
[51:38] the grant program, for people
[51:41] who, residents who've had to cut
[51:44] trees. There is a subsidy
[51:47] involved. Depending on the
[51:49] nature of the permit and at the
[51:50] same time, the city has a free
[51:53] program to plant trees on the
[51:55] city portion of all of our home
[51:58] lots. So, we certainly advocate
[52:01] for that to be used for people
[52:05] looking to add that or -- to
[52:08] their property. Second priority
[52:09] has to do with increasing
[52:13] biodiversity. At the same time,
[52:14] reducing the environmental
[52:15] impact of our communities. So,
[52:17] there are two points that we've
[52:18] touched on there. And just to
[52:22] back off a second, is the fact
[52:25] there are at least 1 million
[52:26] species that are on the
[52:29] endangered or actually on the
[52:32] extinction list. So, at that
[52:34] point, you know, event --
[52:40] biodiversity is changing and we
[52:41] want to encourage locally,
[52:45] certainly bees and butterflies
[52:46] that are also endangered. So
[52:48] with that in mind, we are
[52:51] talking to develop some plans as
[52:54] well. We can work with the City
[52:56] to encourage bee and butterfly
[52:59] habitats. At the same time,
[53:01] let's say on city property, on
[53:04] avenues green spaces, we need to
[53:06] encourage plants on our home
[53:08] properties as well. The other
[53:10] thing is to, in terms of the
[53:13] environmental impact, we
[53:15] certainly do, and are aware, of
[53:18] the dangers and the unhealthy
[53:21] situations that burning wood
[53:23] does for the community. I
[53:27] understand some people want to
[53:28] burn wood for various reasons,
[53:29] but there's nothing that anybody
[53:31] can come up with to say that
[53:33] there is a real benefit to
[53:36] burning wood. We know it's very
[53:39] unhealthy for anyone who can
[53:40] breathe it would smoke and we
[53:42] would remind people who burned
[53:44] to, you know, just walk outside
[53:46] and see if they can smell the
[53:48] wood burning because it is
[53:50] harmful to their health and too
[53:52] many of the people, to children,
[53:55] to seniors, and also to those
[53:58] with health issues. The other
[54:02] thing, last priority is that we
[54:04] continue to advocate for the
[54:07] City to continue its education
[54:08] and communication programs. We
[54:11] are actually looking for
[54:14] residents that we can identify
[54:16] as leaders and ambassadors, so
[54:18] we can see how they are able to
[54:20] live in an environmentally
[54:21] friendly way. So that way, we
[54:24] can learn from them and thank
[54:25] them. And at the same time, copy
[54:27] what they're doing so that we
[54:29] can actually try, in our own
[54:31] little way, to combat the global
[54:33] warming that we're seeing
[54:36] happening across our planet. So,
[54:38] that is it. I saw a propose of
[54:41] minutes. Thank you for the time.

[55:30] 53.4 Minutes of the Finance
[55:31] Advisory Committee meeting of
[55:32] May 21, 2024.
[55:34] >> Mister Chairman, any
[55:36] comments?
[55:37] >> I won't be short and sweet
[55:39] like Dominic, I will have a few
[55:41] more comments. First of, Mister
[55:44] Mayor, good job on presenting
[55:46] the financial report. Thank you
[55:48] very much. You know, at the
[55:53] finance committee, obviously, we
[55:54] review the auditors report in
[55:57] detail. More importantly, we
[55:59] exchange on direction that the
[56:02] City should take or is planning
[56:04] to take or recommendations to
[56:05] come back to Council and to
[56:10] continue our, well, our efforts
[56:11] in Beaconsfield. One thing that
[56:14] came across is that last year,
[56:21] our -- welcome taxes, as we call
[56:22] them, were much lower than the
[56:24] previous year. That was
[56:28] expected. You know, we saw the
[56:30] writing on the wall and
[56:32] accordingly, we budget knowing
[56:34] that we thought there would be
[56:35] less than it was. In 2022, it
[56:38] was over $6 million in transfer
[56:41] taxes. In 2023, it was 4.7.
[56:45] That's a big difference. That
[56:47] difference impacts our surplus,
[56:50] right? So, our surplus this
[56:52] year, as the mayor pointed out,
[56:54] was around 1.3, lower than
[56:56] previous years. But it is still
[56:59] a surplus nonetheless, so that
[57:01] is a good thing. When we look at
[57:04] that, we also look at expenses,
[57:05] additional revenues, and
[57:07] especially expenses that are
[57:10] greater than expected. Water
[57:13] stood out when we look at the
[57:16] auditors reports, and the
[57:19] administration is taking a look
[57:20] at why our costs of acquiring
[57:23] water is so high, especially
[57:25] versus what we bill to
[57:27] residents. Ideally, it levels
[57:30] out, right? What it costs to
[57:32] acquire the water, what you
[57:33] build should be a wash, no pun
[57:36] intended. But this year, there
[57:39] was about, if I recall, well, a
[57:40] good $500,000 more than expected
[57:42] and water costs. So, the
[57:44] administration is looking at
[57:46] that. But there were some
[57:49] positive impacts. Demolishing
[57:53] the big white barn at the lord
[57:56] Reading yacht club came in
[57:59] $200,000 less than we had
[58:00] budgeted for. So, that's a good
[58:03] thing. The finance committee
[58:08] also had a good discussion about
[58:10] our debt and our need to invest
[58:12] in infrastructure. What or
[58:14] whether the infrastructure is
[58:15] below or above the ground, we
[58:18] need to keep up. And there was a
[58:21] good debate around the table on,
[58:23] you know, how do you strike that
[58:26] right balance. You know, it's
[58:30] not easy, it's not meant to be
[58:31] easy either. It's not easy, it's
[58:34] not meant to be easy either. Not
[58:36] investing in our city is not an
[58:38] option. Going too quick, that
[58:40] translates into a higher debt
[58:42] and then ultimately a higher
[58:44] taxation. That is not right
[58:45] either, so we need to strike a
[58:46] balance.. And I can say that
[58:51] that conversation can continue.
[58:54] Moving ahead, I do want to
[58:56] announce that after 23 years of
[59:00] living in Beaconsfield, one of
[59:02] our community members has
[59:03] decided to sell his home and
[59:05] leave Beaconsfield, downsize,
[59:08] Frank Belvedere. Frank is an
[59:13] incredible individual. He has
[59:16] donated his time, skill, and
[59:18] passion for Beaconsfield on a
[59:20] number of committees, but namely
[59:22] the finance committee. So he had
[59:25] to regrettably withdraw from the
[59:27] committee, as he is no longer a
[59:29] resident of Beaconsfield, which
[59:32] on the flipside, thank you
[59:34] frank, I don't know if you're
[59:35] watching, but thank you very
[59:36] much, but on the flip side, that
[59:38] means there is a spot open on
[59:39] the finance committee. So we
[59:41] sent oh, Roger and I were
[59:44] smiling because we had a bit of
[59:45] work ahead of us, we sent out an
[59:48] announcement on inviting
[59:50] Beaconsfield residents to raise
[59:51] their hand and volunteer. Well,
[59:55] sirs, we had a lot of good
[59:57] candidates, Mister Mayor. I have
[1:00:01] got to say, in Beaconsfield, we
[1:00:03] are blessed with some really
[1:00:05] skilled individuals out there.
[1:00:08] At last count, eight. But eight
[1:00:12] that I got to say my only
[1:00:15] concern is that we only have one
[1:00:16] spot open with eight candidates.
[1:00:19] So someone is going to be
[1:00:21] disappointed and that hurts me.
[1:00:24] But we will land on the right
[1:00:26] person. So in a nutshell that is
[1:00:33] it. I just realized I said that
[1:00:34] all an English. I apologize. I
[1:00:37] will gladly repeated in French
[1:00:38] another time. And that's about
[1:00:39] it, Mister Mayor, thank you for
[1:00:40] the time.
[1:00:42] >> Next time, say it in Italian.
[1:00:44] >> I could do that, too, I could
[1:00:46] do that, too.
[1:00:48] >> Do you propose?
[1:00:49] >> I do propose.
[1:00:54] >> Moved seconded. All in
[1:00:56] favour? - ? l'unanimit?. 53.5
[1:01:01] D?p?t de proc?s-verbaux des
[1:01:02] s?ances du Comit? de d?molition
[1:01:03] ? compter de janvier 2024.
[1:01:04] - Monsieur le Pr?sident. Des
[1:01:06] commentaires?
[1:01:08] - Merci, Monsieur le Maire. It's
[1:01:11] a new thing that we are starting
[1:01:13] to do. We will now be doing the
[1:01:18] deposit or the tabling of the
[1:01:21] minutes of the demolition
[1:01:24] committee. As a point of
[1:01:25] interest, we had three meetings,
[1:01:28] which included five or six
[1:01:31] houses since the beginning of
[1:01:33] the year.
[1:01:50] (---)
[1:01:52] Le proc?s-verbal sera d?pos?.
[1:01:56] Entre-temps, si les questions de
[1:01:58] d?molition vous int?resse, les
[1:02:01] proc?s-verbaux seront de toute
[1:02:03] fa?on mis en ligne sur le site
[1:02:05] de la ville, g?n?ralement dans
[1:02:07] les jours o? les semaines qui
[1:02:09] suivent la signature du
[1:02:11] proc?s-verbal. Donc il y a...
[1:02:13] ces pas n?cessaire d'attendre la
[1:02:14] prochaine s?ance du conseil.
[1:02:16] Parfois, ?a peut aller plus vite
[1:02:17] d'aller sur le site de la ville.
[1:02:19] Merci, Monsieur le Maire.
[1:02:23] - Est-ce que...
[1:02:25] - Non, c'est un d?p?t.
[1:02:30] - O.K., c'est un d?p?t.
[1:02:32] (rires)
[1:02:33] C'est vrai, c'est vrai.
[1:02:38] >> 53.6 Minutes of the Traffic
[1:02:39] Advisory Committee meeting of
[1:02:40] May 17, 2024. - Monsieur le
[1:02:43] Pr?sident, avez-vous des
[1:02:44] commentaires?
[1:02:45] - J'ai des commentaires et je
[1:02:46] veux faire la proposition du
[1:02:48] d?p?t du proc?s-verbal. Nous
[1:02:51] avons ?videmment, ? chaque
[1:02:53] r?union, ?norm?ment de dossiers
[1:02:55] attrist? qui porte souvent sur
[1:02:57] des mesures de mitigation de la
[1:03:00] circulation. Traffic calming
[1:03:04] measures, speed bumps, elevated
[1:03:10] platforms at intersections and
[1:03:12] so on and so forth. Invariably,
[1:03:16] what we do now is to command a
[1:03:23] speed survey, essentially to see
[1:03:25] if there is an issue with
[1:03:26] traffic and speed in a given
[1:03:28] area. So if you have requests,
[1:03:31] it might take a little while for
[1:03:32] it to be treated. Please be
[1:03:34] patient. But before we decide to
[1:03:36] go ahead with or without a
[1:03:38] calming measure, we want to make
[1:03:39] sure that there is in fact an
[1:03:42] issue that needs to be resolved.
[1:03:45] Plus particuli?rement, lors de
[1:03:47] la derni?re r?union, dans le
[1:03:49] rapport, le proc?s-verbal que
[1:03:50] nous d?posons, il y avait deux
[1:03:53] dossiers ? traiter, justement
[1:03:57] suite ? des ?tudes de
[1:03:58] circulation qui nous avait ?t?
[1:03:59] soumis par l'administration.
[1:04:01] Alors il s'agit de demandes de
[1:04:06] mesures de mitigation de la
[1:04:08] circulation de la vitesse sur la
[1:04:10] rue punch ailleurs dans mon
[1:04:12] district, le district num?ro 2,
[1:04:14] de m?me que dans la r?f?re, dans
[1:04:16] le district de ma coll?gue
[1:04:18] madame Verdun. Dans les deux
[1:04:20] cas, les sondages sont revenus ?
[1:04:22] l'effet qu'il y avait pas de
[1:04:25] probl?matique de vitesse ?
[1:04:27] proprement parler qui
[1:04:28] n?cessitaient l'installation de
[1:04:30] dos-d'?ne. Donc nous
[1:04:31] recommandons au conseil de ne
[1:04:33] pas aller vers ces avenues l?.
[1:04:37] Les vitesses, dans les deux cas,
[1:04:38] sont des moyennes qui sont
[1:04:40] acceptables. Je vous remercie.
[1:04:42] Thank you. - Alors, qui seconde?
[1:04:46] - J'appuie.
[1:04:48] - En faveur. Monsieur le
[1:04:53] Pr?sident, je suis d'accord.
[1:04:55] Quand on entend le nombre de
[1:04:58] billets que le commandant nous a
[1:05:00] rapport? aujourd'hui, on a
[1:05:03] r?ellement un probl?me de
[1:05:05] vitesse ? Beaconsfield. Et c'est
[1:05:10] dommage, parce que souvent, on
[1:05:15] se plaint de la vitesse ?
[1:05:16] Beaconsfield mais on en fait
[1:05:17] nous autres. Alors c'est
[1:05:21] r?ellement le probl?me.
[1:05:22] - Oui. Je vous dirais, c'est
[1:05:23] comme lorsqu'on est pris dans la
[1:05:26] circulation, on oublie que c'est
[1:05:27] nous qui sommes la cause du
[1:05:30] probl?me.
[1:05:31] - Oui. C'est vrai.
[1:05:32] - Merci.
[1:05:36] - Autorisation pour la fermeture
[1:05:37] de rue lors de l'?v?nement de
[1:05:39] la. Comp?tition des nageurs au
[1:05:43] Club de Natation Beaurepaire le
[1:05:44] 8 ao?t 2024 de 7 h ? 20 h et que
[1:05:45] les co?ts de services sanitaires
[1:05:46] soient pay?s par la Ville.
[1:05:48] - Je propose.
[1:05:49] >> Propose. - J'appuie.
[1:05:50] - En faveur?
[1:05:52] - ? l'unanimit?.
[1:05:57] Authorization to request a grant
[1:05:58] for Celebrate Canada for
[1:05:59] 2024-2025
[1:06:01] >> Proposed.
[1:06:02] >> And seconded.
[1:06:03] >> All in favour? - D?p?t des
[1:06:06] rapports des directeurs.
[1:06:09] - Monsieur le directeur g?n?ral.
[1:06:10] - Merci, Monsieur le Maire. Rien
[1:06:12] de particulier ? souligner,
[1:06:13] (---)
[1:06:14] de visionnement des s?ances du
[1:06:17] conseil par les citoyens. Les
[1:06:18] rapports sur les permis ainsi
[1:06:19] que la patrouille municipale,
[1:06:21] qui sont d?pos?s pratiquement
[1:06:23] chaque mois. Puis je pense qu'on
[1:06:25] arrive ? la fin du nettoyage du
[1:06:28] printemps, on esp?re pouvoir
[1:06:31] prendre part ? d'autres
[1:06:33] activit?s
[1:06:34] (---)
[1:06:35] . Au service des loisirs pour la
[1:06:37] semaine du patrimoine, pr?parer
[1:06:39] la f?te du 21 juin, 24 juin, 1er
[1:06:43] juillet et autres f?tes qui s'en
[1:06:44] viennent.
[1:06:46] - Merci, Monsieur le Directeur
[1:06:49] g?n?ral. Ce soir, nous avons eu
[1:06:50] la chance de visiter le nouveau
[1:06:53] chalet Abigail, c'est r?ellement
[1:06:56] fameux comme chalet. ?a va ?tre
[1:07:01] r?ellement une addition dans
[1:07:05] notre programme de culture et
[1:07:07] loisirs, une grande addition, je
[1:07:10] suis certain que les r?sidents
[1:07:13] vont pouvoir en jouir le plus
[1:07:15] possible.
[1:07:19] >> Closing of the meeting. -
[1:07:24] Alors l?, qui propose la
[1:07:26] fermeture? Bon, alors tout le
[1:07:30] monde est en faveur? ?a semble
[1:07:34] bon. Alors ?coutez, merci
[1:07:36] beaucoup.
[1:07:37] Thank you very much for staying
[1:07:39] until the very end. We
[1:07:42] appreciate that. It was kind of
[1:07:44] a, rather a cozy meeting,
[1:07:46] because you are the only three
[1:07:48] that stayed here until the end.
[1:07:51] But it was appreciated. And to
[1:07:54] those that watch us on the
[1:07:56] webcast, - Merci beaucoup. Nous
[1:08:01] avons certainement votre int?r?t
[1:08:03] et vous ?tes surtout int?ress?
[1:08:07] sur les activit?s de la ville,
[1:08:08] alors c'est en mieux. La
[1:08:12] beaucoup. And I would say watch
[1:08:16] for the next two or three days,
[1:08:17] it is going to be very hot, and
[1:08:20] everybody should be looking for
[1:08:22] a cooling approach, because it's
[1:08:24] going to be, for this time of
[1:08:26] year, it's going to be unusually
[1:08:29] hot, in the high 30s. That's the
[1:08:32] forecast. So be careful. Stay in
[1:08:34] your air conditioned a house.
[1:08:36] [Laughter]
[1:08:37] Or stay in your poll.
[1:08:39] >> Mister Mayor, if I could just
[1:08:40] say to those watching on the
[1:08:44] webcast, our outdoor pools are
[1:08:46] in the process of their
[1:08:47] membership drive, too. So we
[1:08:50] encourage everybody to become
[1:08:51] members, and as you, say they
[1:08:52] can benefit from the hot weather
[1:08:55] that's coming. So it's --
[1:08:58] frankly, the pools are probably
[1:09:00] the best investment that anyone
[1:09:01] can make.
[1:09:02] >> And if you know of any
[1:09:06] seniors that are having
[1:09:08] problems, please call us at the
[1:09:10] city, because we do want to take
[1:09:13] care of our seniors,
[1:09:15] particularly during a period of
[1:09:17] very hot weather. Thank you.
[1:09:21] Good night. Bonsoir.
