We send out a flyer to remind residents
or actually it'll be in the newsletter.
[0:13]
But in addition, we pass out flyers to
all the school children at the bus stops
[0:17]
and then I've made George up some
posters and I just want to laminate them
[0:20]
before he takes them out and then takes
them to the businesses and they put them
[0:24]
up.
Sher, I don't want to blindside you
[0:28]
here, but do you have in your mind do
you can you repeat that schedule again
[0:34]
for the building? What what the time
frame is or you need or do you need to
[0:38]
get something out of the office to do
that? No, actually I know that's
[0:43]
um the construction schedule is what Tom
was asking about and that would be with
[0:48]
the bid whenever the the bid schedule
when it's going out for bid and and when
[0:54]
the bids have to be packed and
right and the bids um initially will be
[1:01]
available on November 2nd. So the bid
package will be available. talk to Ryan
[1:06]
on Friday about having a pre- bid
meeting if we need to have one on
[1:09]
November 2nd. November 2nd the bid
packages will officially be ready here.
[1:15]
Here well actually no we're going to use
ACU copy again because ACU copies that
[1:19]
central they make all the copies and
then the biders just go in and pick them
[1:23]
up. Where's Acup?
[1:28]
So that the biders will be told to go to
ACU copy to get the bids and we used
[1:34]
them last time and it
work really like
[1:39]
um and then the bids will be due on
November 30th which gives them
[1:44]
effectively a month to come back with
their bids.
[1:48]
Um and also we didn't want to have bids
due right before Thanksgiving because so
[1:54]
many people go out of town and whatnot.
So that that Tuesday. So that allows
[1:59]
people to get Thanksgiving holiday out
of the way and then back on the When is
[2:02]
the Thanksgiving? What day? Uh the 25th.
So but still they have a month to do it
[2:10]
and Ryan was comfortable with that. So
then you are going to work on light up.
[2:13]
You and Kathy going to work on light up
night after Thanksgiving.
[2:18]
That's wrong. Okay. What are we calling
it? Whatever. Night of the lights. Night
[2:21]
of the night to death will be on um Jack
will have a resolution for that to
[2:27]
officially call it light of night of the
lights and um that is always the first
[2:33]
Thursday of December.
Has Daryl Wesnik got back to you yet? Uh
[2:38]
I have not talked to anyone by that
name. That's the band director for the
[2:41]
high school. Daryl Wesnik. He should be
calling you. I emailed him several weeks
[2:46]
ago. He said he was going to get in
touch. We wanted to try to get a little
[2:50]
brass ensemble to play. In addition, we
can't get the O'Hara choir. So, Kathy's
[2:56]
contacted the junior high and senior
high.
[3:00]
We had the fifth grade or fourth grade
O'Hara choir. So, we can't get them
[3:06]
this. We can't get them. But the junior
high or the senior high or possibly one
[3:10]
of the church choirs. So, okay.
We have we have
[3:15]
Okay. So, the bids will be due November
the 30th. November the 30th. And they
[3:20]
will be opened at 10:00 on the 30th.
Here, here. Here. Just like we did last
[3:27]
time.
On the 30th. Okay. And then what when
[3:33]
when will they be awarded? Um hopefully
I would anticipate that at your regular
[3:39]
meeting in December be
awarded and that falls a little bit
[3:45]
early just because the way Christmas
So it's not on New Year or Christmas
[3:50]
Eve. It's the week before something.
[3:54]
Well, we need to Sam, that's your call
there. What do you think? We want to
[4:00]
wait a month or three weeks before we
award them.
[4:04]
We're beyond. Okay.
[4:11]
So, possible 16th based on the
architect's recommendations. possibly to
[4:16]
16.
[4:28]
Okay.
I am so excited to tell you that for the
[4:33]
first time we used our swift reach 911
system. Now that's that reverse 911. So
[4:39]
when we had um we had certain sections
like that side of Freeport Road, this
[4:44]
side
Maple and then this side of Walnut. I
[4:48]
was able to go in and select those homes
and within 15 minutes each one of those
[4:53]
homes was called and I was able to
record a message. So they don't get a
[4:57]
computerized message, they get a message
from someone that they've heard usually.
[5:03]
And um and it comes back with a report
of who didn't get called and there were
[5:07]
like three people that didn't get
called. They called the next day and I
[5:11]
got their numbers. And it was simply
because we didn't have their numbers in
[5:14]
our system. Why did we use it? We used
it because there when they were doing
[5:19]
the hydrant and the valve replacement,
they were going to have to shut the
[5:21]
water off. But the beauty of it is it
works seamlessly and
[5:27]
Katie was I had to be and called her and
told her house would be affected after
[5:32]
that. And um it worked very very well.
It was just so impressive.
[5:39]
just a small thing, but you know, if we
really really had a major crisis,
[5:44]
we could get those we have those numbers
in there and bam, we could get that
[5:48]
information out very quickly. And I'm
just so pleased about that.
[5:54]
Sharon, who's responsible for for that?
Me. You.
[5:58]
You get an additional You get praised,
not a raise. Job well done. Pat on the
[6:04]
head. That works. It it's just so
exciting because the police can use it,
[6:08]
the fire can use it, emergency
management can use it. I I will be
[6:13]
teaching George how to use it, but I
have the capabilities from home. Say um
[6:18]
you know, something happens in the
middle of the night. They all have my
[6:21]
cell phone number in an emergency
situation. Call me and we'll get it
[6:25]
going.
Maybe it would be a good idea to train
[6:28]
somebody on counsel also. What I have
done is I've trained Kathy. Kathy
[6:34]
actually actually have to sit through a
two-hour seminar. So, I trained Kathy
[6:39]
and once we went through it first,
you know, it is. It is. And there are
[6:44]
certain things that I saw that I didn't
quite like and there are certain things
[6:48]
that I saw that really worked well. So,
um but no, I'm not opposed to calling
[6:52]
someone or helping someone in learn how
to do it as well. So, if there are any
[6:57]
volunteers,
[7:02]
any volunteers
let me know and I'll be happy to show
[7:07]
you how that works. Just one more thing
with the light up night. Have we sent
[7:11]
out letters to the merchant yet like we
did last year and got the great response
[7:15]
for cookies? We have prepared them but
it has been a busy busy couple weeks. So
[7:21]
we'll get those out this week sometime.
Yeah. Yeah. Sooner the better. That's
[7:25]
what they put they said last year. Okay.
[7:30]
Take care of that.
[7:35]
We're the one stop show.
[7:40]
All right.
[7:53]
What are you looking for? I wrote I
wrote in my notes October 15th
[7:59]
I don't know. I'll figure it out. But
anyway, those are those are the few
[8:04]
things that I had. And you know, I was
really pleased that the Bur Boys worked
[8:08]
with me. Turned out that we were able to
look at the businesses and the one
[8:12]
business on Thursday had massive flying
out scheduled. She said, "Please don't
[8:16]
shut the water off that day." And
then 40 customers and then the was bad
[8:23]
for Friday morning. So, public works
worked and did it from 12 on on Friday.
[8:29]
So, we'll work together and it was
helpful.
[9:01]
Okay. No, that's all I have for Okay.
Any questions for Shar?
[9:09]
Oh, back to
um Christmas and dollars. Do we have
[9:14]
Santa?
Um, no. We haven't gotten that far.
[9:19]
Okay. However, if we have an individual
son that would like to volunteer, uh,
[9:25]
please let me know. I certainly will.
I'll be seeing him this evening. He did
[9:30]
a nice job. He enjoyed that, actually.
Did he? Great.
[9:37]
Have a happy.
Nobody cried. No. And nobody.
[9:43]
Same pictures. Same set up. That was
great.
[9:47]
Wonderful. You guys did the picture.
Well, you know, and it's all done right
[9:53]
there, you know, and they actually get a
quality picture where it does those
[9:58]
Polaroids really disintegrate over time.
Anyways, it's I haven't gone in years,
[10:03]
but I hear the mall's outrageous for a
picture with your child. Like 16
[10:09]
And we give you a nice 4x6 for free.
And I will go and
[10:16]
shop after Halloween as I normally do
and get bags.
[10:25]
Very good. Okay. Any questions for
[10:33]
public works in the process now
negotiating public works
[10:40]
contract and we're also in negotiations
with
[10:48]
police contracts.
[10:56]
just got a counter from the police which
on my way up I passed over to Jack and
[11:02]
um I know he has a meeting
[11:08]
scheduled that's all I
have I would like to go into an
[11:14]
executive session to talk about
personnel matters and real estate
[11:19]
matters we don't anticipate doing any
business whatsoever after that going to
[11:25]
go right
[11:28]
Turn this portion of the agenda meeting.
