[9:29] project-wise

[9:31] goes for uh each township to submit

[9:35] applications for their structures based

[9:38] upon

[9:39] uh you know the original

[9:42] survey that the county did for all

[9:44] townships in the county.

[9:47] and then once that's submitted the

[9:48] commission considers those at right

[9:50] after the first of the year. I believe

[9:52] you you guys can recall

[10:04] completed the you know throughout that

[10:06] summer and then start that cycle all

[10:08] over again with the five-year plan, the

[10:13] the commission, and then the get-go to

[10:15] get them going on that project. And that

[10:18] does cost the townships 20%.

[10:26] the initial fundings uh you know

[10:30] just short of a million dollars the

[10:32] first round and then you know following

[10:35] that and I'll let her touch a little

[10:42] good majority of our funding but there

[10:44] is still a lot available out there.

[10:47] And I printed out a a printout to for

[10:50] Commissioner Jensen. I'd be more than

[10:53] willing to print out you know what the

[10:54] initial survey

[10:56] uh what we did back in 2021 and 21 and

[11:01] then I also went back uh through had the guys go through this winter and we

[11:06] updated the RAF program um on the

[11:10] state's website uh because there is

[11:14] going to be an additional round of

[11:15] funding coming and I wanted to make sure

[11:18] that we had the culverts that had been

[11:21] done updated on that website because

[11:23] based or

[11:25] that GIS database I should call it the

[11:28] database determines uh still you know

[11:31] what we're going to be getting for

[11:33] funding

[11:34] uh, based upon the structures that are

[11:36] listed in that inventory.

[13:15] plans to my office.

[13:21] that they're interested in possibly

[13:26] will, but that is the first step. They

[13:27] have to submit a five-year plan by the

[13:30] end of August. We have forms

[13:33] for them to fill out for that plan. And

[13:37] then by the end of October, we need to

[13:39] [snorts] receive a resolution that says

[13:42] they know that they're responsible for

[13:44] 20% of the project costs.

[13:47] And then an application form for

[13:50] one per per project. So, if they're

[13:52] doing more than one culvert, they'll

[13:55] need more than one application. And then

[13:57] quotes from a contractor getting us a

[14:00] just an estimate. We know that those

[14:02] change cuz we're kind of looking at

[14:03] things almost could be a year in

[14:05] advance, but um so those things, the

[14:07] resolution, the application, and the

[14:09] quotes are due by the end of October.

[14:12] And then the commission needs to approve

[14:14] projects

[14:15] for the following year. So, we would

[14:18] approve projects for 2027 by January

[14:21] 15th of 2027.

[52:22] presented um numbers for from the last

[52:25] uh 2026 year to date and then 23, 24, 25

[52:29] numbers, call numbers. So, I just

[52:30] included those in my report um just kind

[52:33] of as an FYI item.

[52:36] Other than that, just some upcoming dates. Make this bigger so you

[52:47] the the economic summit is going on as

[52:49] we speak out at the Dakota Bank Center.

[52:52] Um May next Tuesday, May 12th, we do

[52:55] have that special joint meeting here in

[52:57] the commission chambers with the city

[52:59] uh Brookings City Council to um

[53:03] deal with some ordinance changes uh with

[53:05] the joint jurisdiction. That's at 5:30

[53:08] here in the chambers.

[53:10] May 25th is Memorial Day, so offices

[53:13] will be closed that Monday.

[53:15] Just a reminder that the regular

[53:17] commission meeting for that first

[53:19] meeting in June is Thursday, June 4th.

[53:24] from the primary election that will be

[53:26] held on June 2nd, that Tuesday. Um

[57:30] 30th, I was able to attend my first

[57:34] board meeting for the domestic abuse

[57:35] shelter. So,

[57:58] cleaning up on their initial uh project.

[58:02] On the 23rd, I attended the Sioux Valley

[58:04] Electric uh

[58:05] meeting over in Elkton. It was a

[58:08] pretty informational meeting. There was

[58:10] uh they had a presentation on data

[58:13] centers and they also had a presentation

[58:15] on uh high voltage power lines, so

[58:19] it was uh

[58:20] kind of a good meeting I just happened

[58:22] to attend and uh some good information shared there.

[58:26] On the 27th, I had a hospital board

[58:30] meeting. Uh we kicked off the meet

[58:32] meeting by touring the

[58:34] OB unit and it was interesting that uh

[58:38] last year, I believe there was uh

[58:40] 430

[58:43] uh births up there at the OB unit and it

[58:46] was uh

[58:48] about 212

[58:50] uh boys and 218 girls. It was kind of

[58:53] interesting, it's about even split, so

[58:56] uh it was a good tour of that and after

[58:58] that we had uh the general meeting. On

[59:01] the 29th, also met with the Commissioner

[59:03] Vander Wall at Banners for the progress

[59:05] meeting on 214th Street and uh that's

[59:09] all I have.

[59:18] meeting in the in the next door room.

[59:28] wide. I think that's uh something that

[59:30] we need to start looking at and also

[59:32] looking at the radio systems in general

[59:34] county wide.

[59:36] Uh later that afternoon on the 23rd, I

[59:38] did have a Brookings Regional Growth

[59:40] Alliance board meeting.

[59:41] Um talked about some of the new new

[59:43] things going on. Of course, we touched

[59:45] on the economic summit that's going on

[59:47] today in uh

[59:49] in that. On the 24th, uh

[59:51] attended Shorty's Hot Box ribbon

[59:53] cutting. Uh

[59:55] that in

[59:56] uh on 6th Street, which is uh going to

[59:58] be a neat uh transition from food truck

[1:00:00] to actual brick and mortar store. If

[1:00:03] anybody hasn't been there, that's uh

[1:00:05] it's a

[1:00:06] very nice uh new new building.

[1:00:09] On the 28th, I was able to attend the

[1:00:11] Central Bank ribbon cutting uh for their

[1:00:13] new building. Uh that was very well attended as well.

[1:00:18] Then on the 2nd,

[1:00:20] uh I attended the Jackrabbit Scholarship

[1:00:23] Auction up at uh SDSU

[1:00:25] at the Sanford Wellness uh sports

[1:00:27] complex. Uh

[1:00:29] They had uh close to a thousand people

[1:00:31] uh in attendance there and raised uh

[1:00:34] raised just under 3 million dollars for

[1:00:36] scholarships for Jackrabbits. I think it

[1:00:38] was one it was 2.96 million. So, very good for our student athletes. And

[1:00:45] then on the 4th yesterday, I did attend

[1:00:47] the White City Council meeting. Learned

[1:00:49] about some of their updates and their uh

[1:00:51] their things they have going on for the

[1:00:53] next year with uh sewer and and water up

[1:00:56] updates and and planning for Pioneer

[1:00:58] Days. So, and that is my report.

[1:01:04] executive session that we added in
