[2:55] weeks ago I approached you guys about a um request to provide the assessment by

[3:04] evaluation by property class to all the different taxing entities uh in the in

[3:09] the county so that the different taxing entities can make more informed

[3:13] decisions about their mil levies and so forth. Um this I know from personal

[3:18] experience I'm not I'm coming as a resident not as beha on behalf of the

[3:21] school board but as a member of the school board this is something that has

[3:25] been requested from the appraisers's office uh for multiple years it's been

[3:29] provided with for a fee. Um in my opinion it is something that in the name

[3:36] of transparency and being informed as a voting member of a taxing entity uh and

[3:43] being accountable to the public. I think it would be great if the county just set

[3:47] a precedent that this is provided to the various taxing entities because all of

[3:51] the valuation comes through obviously the Brown County Appraisers office. Um

[3:55] after I last spoke with you, we discussed it in the meeting. Uh Levi

[4:00] Thompson, the board clerk, had then um reached out to Markham's office and he

[4:05] wanted $50 in order to do this. Now, obviously the school can afford to pay

[4:11] $50 as I would think any taxing entity would do it. However, um I think that it

[4:17] is first of all something that if it's only $50, I'm assuming it's probably

[4:21] about an hour hours work for in our case the template should be built and for all

[4:26] of these entities once the templates built it's just a matter of printing it

[4:30] with the updated information. Um, what I would ask is while we're willing to do

[4:35] it, if it's that's what it takes, that the county commission set a precedent

[4:39] that this is just something that is provided to the city of Horton, city of

[4:43] Haywa, the two school districts, the cemetery districts, whoever they are,

[4:47] whoever is responsible for setting mill levies um so that those organizations,

[4:53] those bodies can make the most informed decisions about the impact that it's

[4:57] going to have on the taxpayer. So, uh, I wasn't planning on coming this morning,

[5:01] but I looked at the calendar. We're having a budget meeting next Monday, and

[5:05] I thought in order to give time, uh, to put the wheels in motion, uh, to get

[5:10] that printed out, I thought I would just stop up here. So, so I'm a little more

[5:14] cash than I would normally be, but anyway, that's the uh, that is the long

[5:18] and the short of it. So, I would ask for your consideration.

[5:29] residential, there's the A, there's the commercial, etc. You showed me the

[5:48] different um taxing body. Yeah. Then then does this then does USD430 for

[5:55] example versus the city of Iwa. So these would be bespoke to the different

[6:10] » But like you're saying once the template's built then it's just imported

[6:20] it's got a good portion of residential, it's got a good portion of a it's got

[6:23] all the commercial. Uh the city of Haywapa would be very different because

[6:27] there's not agricultural property, right? And so the the well

[6:31] » there could be there could be a a little bit but not within the not within the

[6:36] city is going to be mostly residential and and commercial property. So the

[6:40] balance and how that affects what that net increase or decrease or so forth is

[6:44] is going to be different. And that's why it's important to have ones that are

[6:48] actually precisely designed to match what that um taxing constituency I'm

[6:54] failing to get the word if that makes sense.

[7:34] $50 fee or not, but uh, once those templates are built, you could continue

[7:39] to add to the smaller and smaller ones like the as time would allow. I would I

[7:44] would like to think that over the course between this year's budget season and

[7:48] next year's budget season, probably all of those could be created, but if you

[7:52] got the major the major taxing bodies, that would probably be a great start. So

[7:58] this is that that's it. Um uh I think from from our end as far as the group

[8:03] that I'm associated with, they'll make the request regardless. Um but it's just

[8:07] I think would be good government in order to provide this to to the

[8:11] different groups as just a matter of precedent. Okay.
