[8:06] resolution on where it's going to flood.

[16:25] » Hi, yes. So, we were working on the design and permitting for the Crest

[16:28] Steel Tide Gates and Stormwater Pump Stations and we put the project out for

[16:32] construction bid. And on May 29th, 2026, we received five bids for the projects

[16:38] and um, they're summarized in that table. For rounding purposes, Ship

[16:42] Electric came in at 2.5 million, Chesapeake Turf LLC at 3.1 million,

[16:48] David A. Bramble at 3.5 million, and Sue Construction at 4.8 million, and NO

[16:54] Contracting came in at 7.3 million. Uh, we found that Ship Electric is

[16:59] considered non-responsive. They failed to meet all the requirements including

[17:03] providing the experience and qual- qualification certification.

[17:09] » Okay.

[17:12] » And then, if you go to the next slide. >> Yes. Mhm, we are on the next one. Thank

[17:17] » I regrouped the summer table just for ease so you can see the prices again.

[17:23] Pending sufficient funding, Bay Land recommended contract award to Chesapeake

[17:27] Turf LLC. They were considered the lowest responsive bidder in the amount

[17:32] of 3.1 million. In addition to being the lowest responsive bidder, they also

[17:36] demonstrated the most extensive relevant experience

[17:41] um of any bidder including pump station rehabilitation,

[17:44] manual and pipe installation, and just general civil site development.

[17:50] Um We know funding is limited and Justin

[17:54] worked really hard to secure additional funding. And so, as lowest responsive

[17:59] bidder, Chesapeake Turf will be awarded on a limited scope due to the funding

[18:04] limitations. So, we're reducing the scope of work and also working on some

[18:08] value engineering um to install the Gerald Ditch Pump Station.

[18:14] So, we recommend a contract award to them in

[18:17] approximately 1.7 million dollars. And Bay Land also provided a construction

[18:22] management and inspection proposal for 176,000

[18:26] dollars. So, the recommended award total is 1,879,338

[18:33] dollars and 99 cents. >> Fantastic. Thank you so much, Megan. I

[18:38] appreciate you guys did a thorough job of going through this for us and

[18:42] helping us to understand where we are today. For Council, I just wanted to let

[18:46] them know that we had originally wanted to do two pumping stations, but because

[18:50] this project is so very old, I don't know, pre-dates all of us here except

[18:54] maybe Joyce and Val. It's been out there a long, long time.

[18:58] The prices had changed so much that we're we are strapped to even try to get

[19:03] one of the pumping stations in. So, we talked about this as a at a previous

[19:07] meeting, but this is where we end up. And so, we want to know if has any

[28:54] I do want to mention that we are considering a roads planning grant. So,

[28:58] this is for council, you know, we may have to get together again soon. Um you

[29:02] heard Michael talk about how he just got an opportunity a week ago. Well, we just

[29:06] have a possibility there might be a planning grant available that we could

[29:09] start looking at roads. It's a federal grant, you know, but if we could get it

[29:14] together, we want to try. So, if that is a possibility right now, Jackie is

[29:18] looking into it. She's reaching out to the funding source to see if it's

[29:21] something that makes sense for us to do. Um and if it does, I'm going to call on

[29:25] you guys for another quick meeting where she would outline what it would entail,

[29:30] and then you guys could make a decision. Cuz I think it's due on the 9th of

[29:33] October. Am I Am I correct? Right. And actually it just came out.

[29:36] When we found out August 27th. Yeah, so it just came out. So, it's not like we

[29:40] sat on it or we missed it. It is really how the grant world works. A lot of

[29:44] times they'll put these things out and you don't have a lot of lead time. But

[29:47] she's done a lot of research, and I think if we can do We can't do the

[29:51] implementation grant, the construction. We're not ready for that. But there's a

[29:54] possibility we might have uh we might look at the planning grant. So, I just

[29:58] want to give you guys a heads-up about that. Um and again, my my hats off to

[30:03] everyone who did the crab derby, the chamber, and the volunteers. I thought

[30:07] this year reminded me of some of the old days. Um I was really Yeah, I was really

[30:11] pleased, and the atmosphere was just really good. And when I talked to Danny,

[30:15] he had said he thought there were more people here um like first-timers that

[30:19] have been here for many, many years. Um I thought it was great. Um also, I want

[30:24] to thank all of the volunteers. We're seeing the community step up, and that's

[30:28] a wonderful thing. And we saw some folks that were edging. They don't want to be

[30:31] named, but we saw some folks who got out there and did some work to help us out,

[30:36] and we appreciate that. You know, the Lioness, um they have reached out, and

[30:40] And looking at some things that we can do to help beautify the entrance to the

[30:43] city again. Um and of course they do the planning for us. So we're saying

[30:47] citizens step up and that means so much to us. So definitely we appreciate all

[30:51] the work that you guys are doing. Um hats off to little Mr. and Miss

[31:43] which is um going to be happening on the 23rd of September as well. So I mean

[31:48] we'll be participating in that. That's a Chamber of Commerce event as well. But

[31:51] um it's a huge um boost for the city and I think that we're going to get a lot of

[31:56] folks coming in for that as well. So just want to thank everybody for you

[32:00] know their support. September is a month that really showcases Crisfield. So we

[32:04] appreciate all that you guys are doing. And so um we're going to go

[32:10] I know it's a close but before we do that I do want to make one comment. It

[32:14] has been you know a wonderful like I said Labor Day time but I do have to go

[32:19] on the record. I I got some stuff sent to me and and just for the record I need

[32:24] to say um be careful what you read. Um there are people who are saying that I

[32:29] said things that would never say. So I just want everyone on the record to say

[32:34] hey I don't know where this stuff is coming from. Most of these people I

[32:37] don't even know. Um so, I want it to be on the record. I

[32:41] don't normally do that cuz I don't do Facebook as a rule. But, if someone

[32:45] sends me something that is completely in left field, I have to challenge that.

[32:49] So, I'm going on the record to say the things that you see that people are

[32:53] saying that I said absolutely never happened. Don't even know these people.

[32:56] Closest slander and defamation of character, I don't know where that stuff

[32:59] is coming from. But, me as the mayor and this team, we're going to continue every

[33:05] day to try to move this community forward. That's what we're here for.

[33:08] That's what we're committed to do. And that's what we're going to continue to

[33:11] do. And so, I'm I'm grateful to all of those who know me and know it's

[33:15] nonsense. But, I do also realize that not everyone does know that. So, I have

[33:19] to go officially on the record and say don't believe the nonsense that you're

[33:23] reading cuz that is not stuff that I said. I don't know where this stuff came

[33:26] from. But, you know, you might even want to look at where the source is. Uh we 5

[33:30] minutes and you can figure out no, that probably don't want to listen to that.
