[3:20] Now the state is basing that funding off of what day the school is going to receive

[3:27] in as enrollment for October 1st. So, where we're at the 250 right now, if that holds true on October 1st, then the state will

[3:53] definitely want to get all those kids in the door and

[4:00] spend the year with WCS Lewis because that's going to be really extraordinary things for the budget.

[4:06] and so as far as the expenses go, the only ones that are kind of down

[4:24] on line 7, 3, sorry,

[4:27] 7, 10 land and side improvements, you can see that that number is already up 36,800

[4:34] feet. I want to explain that that is more than what we had originally put in for the budget,

[4:41] but that dollar amount reflects our school's safety grant so we do have a

[4:48] revenue that offsets that so even though we've put in an expense we do have a

[4:53] revenue of $32,000 that will be reimbursed by the state of Utah for the

[4:59] cameras and the wiring and all that kind of stuff so we've already submitted that

[5:03] reimbursement request and I would anticipate we'll receive that probably by the

[5:09] this month, but I'll keep an eye on that. I just wanted to point that out in case anyone's

[5:16] looking at that maybe why are we already so high in that particular column. So that is why

[5:23] furniture and fixtures as well. We kind of had an upfront expense on that. We purchased a bunch of

[5:30] lockers and those will be from what I understand as simple fairly soon and ready for use.

[5:39] But outside of that, really nothing too crazy or out of the normal expenses for the first month of the fiscal year.

[5:50] We'll start seeing more of our hourly employees and classroom supplies as the school year ramps up.

[5:59] when we get going curriculum will probably be one of those upfront expenses as well so

[6:05] like I said kind of a boring buy right now but we'll see a lot more action coming up

[6:12] just to update the board as well on the audit books have been all updated all the federal

[6:22] grant reimbursements have been submitted so we'll get those books over to the auditors and

[6:28] and start that process that usually takes a couple of months

[9:24] Initially, the one we proposed last month wanted to work in a citizenship grade.

[9:29] We have since taken that component out, and I think that we're just going to go back to the roar

[9:38] Grading which is like behavior and that's how the school has been traditionally doing it

[9:44] The only modification I would like to make on the one that I present to you guys is

[9:49] attendance being 20%

[9:51] Instead of 30 and then the assessment is being 40% instead of 30

[9:56] So it would be class work would be 40%, assessments would be 40, and then attendance would be 20% of each subject.

[10:04] And then, again, the world program is the accountability program the schools have been using for several years.

[10:12] And we're having more training on that with the state tomorrow.

[10:17] They're coming down to explain it to me, so we're upgrading and compliance with that piece of it.

[10:22] But essentially, are they being respectful?

[11:39] The idea is, what some of the hospital changes

[11:48] that are not reading on grade level at third grade.

[11:52] So the idea behind this policy was to put things

[11:58] in place benchmarks so that we're not catching

[12:02] anyone off guard the last week of school

[12:04] and being like, surprise, your student's getting help back.

[12:07] So it's baby stepping and documentation

[12:08] to make sure that at every point that child

[12:12] and that family has the tools of resources

[12:13] and knowledge to know that this could be a potential outcome

[12:17] and then to offer the supports to get ahead of it so that we don't have to retain any students.

[12:23] Also, this one's important because we do have three parents this year who approach us about

[12:31] asking us if we can retain their child. So, we have documentation because they've been going

[12:37] through certain processes anyways, but I wanted to make sure we, and again, this is another one

[12:43] I don't know if it's a board being or if this one would be okay, because there are three

[12:49] kiddos that the parents want them to repeat the grade.

[12:55] Is it for social academic support?

[12:58] One of them is for emotional and social.

[13:04] The kiddo was in kindergarten last year and they made it physically into their class with

[13:12] their peers one time and then they spent the rest of it in this bedroom because they were

[13:16] too anxious and too nervous to go into their general classroom and so we didn't, the

[13:23] parents didn't feel like it was appropriate to put them in first grade until they got

[13:28] that actual classroom experience. Another one, the students been homeschooled, their whole

[13:34] life, they are not going into sixth grade and they would, they asked us when they enrolled

[13:40] if they could start in sixth grade, and so I believe that one is more an academic situation.

[13:48] And then the other one, the student was in fourth grade last year. We went through the IEP

[13:54] process, the testing process found out there was a little bit of, I don't know how much I can say it,

[14:01] but there is definitely like if it's pregnancy and where they should be in the need,

[14:05] and mom has requested that we retain that student in fourth grade again.

[16:24] but after meeting with the Academic Committee this month, we decided that we are in fact going

[16:29] to do CTE, so I would like to do the sharing ground the way it's proposed with the addition

[16:35] of the CTE endorsement as well.

[16:41] Career technology education, so it's like career exploration, like a many, like business

[17:54] And this one might be, we might need to modify it a little bit.

[18:00] We partnered with a company who's launching an app that's called Be There.

[18:05] He came in into training with the staff yesterday, but basically what it does is it's crazy

[18:11] geofence for the school.

[18:13] We controlled the fencing parameters and the hours and the schedule.

[18:17] And then the families opt to download that app on the phone personally.

[18:23] so we're not handling any of the data, the student data.

[18:26] But if the parents choose to download this app on their phone,

[18:29] when they step on campus, it shuts down their phone for everything except emergency phone calls.

[18:34] They don't have access to their camera, they don't have access to texting messages, internet,

[18:40] anything like that. And then when they leave campus and they step outside the parameter,

[18:45] their phone is active again. So the proposal to device policy says that basically

[18:51] as a parent at the school you will either have that app on the phone or if they

[18:55] continue to send the phone it will be held and locked up front until that

[18:58] end of the day and then if a student is found using their phone and it doesn't

[19:03] have the app and they didn't turn it into the front office that we will hold on to it

[19:06] and the parent has to come get the phone.

[19:12] So smart watches just have to be turned into the office up front, the app doesn't

[19:16] work for smart watches unfortunately, yeah.

[19:19] Okay, that looks like it addresses smartwatches, tablets, e-readers, wireless earputs, Bluetooth gear, all the electronics.

[19:30] And then they did come up yesterday in the training, well what somebody needs like insulin through their phone.

[19:37] Parents when they download the app, they can off certain applications out of the shutdown phase when they're in the building.

[19:44] So if a student is getting emergency help through their phone for insulin or something like that

[19:48] The parent can still exclude that one app from it so that they can still get the help they need with their phone

[19:55] They were confident that that will work so that we don't have a kid going into the diabetic

[20:00] Talk or something. So he has tested it several times. The message we're going to tell families is if if they're in control of it
