[0:01] Yeah, we're recording.
[0:07] Yeah.
[0:11] I'd like to welcome everyone out to Emily County Recreations
[0:14] by the service district.
[0:18] August 10, 2026. It's now 6.55. Thanks, everyone, for coming
[0:26] down Green River.
[0:30] It's a great for Lonnie. But then she tasked with more. So we'd like to
[0:37] thank Green River for allowing us to use the building here tonight. Let's do open roll
[0:44] call so it's on the on the mic.
[0:50] Let's start over here.
[0:50] I want a medal's green and green only at large.
[0:56] Sarah could have room casted out like justice at large.
[1:00] Jordan Leonard every county.
[1:02] Braille and Wilde, Farron City.
[1:04] Judd Bigley, Huntington City.
[1:07] Tara O'Shaire, Elmo.
[1:09] And we have Cara and Kate.
[1:13] Before we start the agendas, let's, Kate,
[1:18] do you mind taking a little bit of time
[1:19] and ease yourself. This is the first meeting that Kate's been able to be with us on.
[1:24] Yep. Say hi, my name is Kate. I'm super excited to be in this position and I can work with
[1:29] all of you. I'm super excited to see what we can do as a recreation department and get people involved
[1:36] and find new ways to innovate the wreck and just go forward. Excited. How'd the first two weeks
[1:46] been for you. Good. A lot of learning. A lot of a lot of figuring stuff out is carrot
[1:51] nose. We're trying to figure out a lot of stuff with not a whole lot of notes or a whole
[1:56] lot of going off of a whole lot of you know information so it's been there's a learning
[2:00] curve there but it's been good.
[2:03] Well welcome onboard. Thank you and yeah we're going to put
[2:08] to work, because we're not going to do anything. We're just going to let you do it all. Okay.
[2:20] First item agenda, let's do approval of previous meeting minutes. Anyone have any questions
[2:26] about last meeting minutes?
[2:35] Okay, we've got a motion and a second. All in favor? Yes? Yes.
[2:42] Any opposed?
[2:48] Agenda item three.
[2:51] Discuss approval of Paul Winter Whippleball leak.
[2:56] So I have been talking to Chase Julian, who I have on the phone, who wanted to present
[3:02] this to board and tell me on the phone.
[3:28] the board is ready to hear your proposal along the with the ball league.
[3:36] Thanks for presenting.
[3:42] I would like to play
[3:47] with the ball league for boys and girls.
[3:52] is probably towards the end of the fall,
[3:55] the scorching in jazz,
[4:04] competitive league, but not so competitive.
[4:08] There's kind of a lead to get people
[4:10] a little bit more interested in baseball and softball
[4:13] and try to get numbers, more numbers,
[4:18] get it towards baseballing as they continue to grow.
[4:24] That's kind of where it's getting towards.
[4:26] So this kind of a whiff of our lead just to have fun.
[4:32] It would be, it would be split into teams
[4:35] whenever it signs up.
[4:37] I don't want, I mean, there's no,
[4:41] I don't want to, I want to do the rent
[4:43] because I don't want no funds to like the high school
[4:46] or nothing like that, I don't want anything.
[4:49] I want just, there's the red things to make.
[4:52] That's not a dollar, that's what it would be.
[4:54] It will just be really basic as far as the kids have come.
[5:01] It's putting up in the teams, having to sign up.
[5:05] It's putting up the teams into a week and then just kind of run a week by week
[5:13] as far as how many can make it on that Monday night.
[5:17] and just whatever nine would be best for you but just like a Monday night run a
[5:23] week and get in and run through teams and you have one you run through the batting
[5:28] order one time and then everybody hits and you just kind of run out of that
[5:33] way to play versus each other. So it would be co-ed is what you're saying boys how
[5:41] girls together? Yeah boys and girls complaining it's it's all co-ed it's just
[5:47] trying to get more excitement into the baseball slash softball world. What age
[5:56] group would you are you envisioning here? So in the army we can split the fields
[6:03] into two fields just the way the dimensions of it are. It can be split into two
[6:10] fields and I mean you can go from 18 to 18 when you're gonna split and use the other kids
[6:16] down lower and lower kids will be up above but it'll be a quick game you're gonna be like you're
[6:24] gonna be going through pretty quick it's not like when I'm gonna take an hour and a half and you've
[6:31] pervading. But you're you're thinking start around eight year olds and then split the games so
[6:39] so they're more evenly matched.
[6:43] I wouldn't play 18-year-old for 18-year-olds.
[6:47] Right.
[6:49] Well, I mean, some 8-year-olds probably could,
[6:52] but not a whole lot of people.
[6:54] That's what it's on up for right now.
[6:56] Yeah.
[6:57] But it's also on the side of the skin.
[7:00] On and like towards the end, like,
[7:02] if you run it for six weeks, I'm not
[7:04] just, you'll run at the end.
[7:08] I mean, the 8-year-olds at the end of the year
[7:11] and have a little term, and you can have the eight-year-olds play the high school kids just for fun.
[7:17] Yeah.
[7:19] Just more so of trying to get engagement and baseball and softball are numbers and not the greatest.
[7:31] So I'm just trying to, there's quite a few things that I think could help, potentially help.
[7:47] So this is Kay Dixon, the director talking about, are you kind of envisioning like an
[7:51] open gym style format or is this where kids sign up and we organize many teams beforehand
[7:56] and they have their set teams or is this open gym whoever shows up gets paired with, you
[8:01] know, who's there.
[8:02] How does that, well, that looked like.
[8:03] But it kind of is going to be based upon, if we hold a registration and we don't have 10 kids I know, then it'll kind of be just like, open gene format up.
[8:20] And hopefully, once these kids start coming, we can just kind of split them and organize them into there.
[8:28] if we can run a registration and we have 50 kids sign up for it then we can
[8:36] split into teams and then just rotate to play teams and rotate age-wise. However,
[8:43] many we have like you might 80 year old, might have to play 10 year olds but it's
[8:47] not like it's not. It'd be a game or with a ball game but it wouldn't be like a
[8:55] for a long competitive game where where is when a championship rings like it's not it's
[9:05] just more of a fun type of game like we're not going to be when a championship's at the
[9:13] point of it's just going to kind of be skidding in that the role between sports, between football
[9:23] and everything before junior jazz starts just kind of feeling that well with a
[9:32] little bit of all lead to where people could play and can generate whatever
[9:37] revenue you guys like. I don't I don't know that aspect of it. You brought up the
[9:46] Spartan Center is that is that mean that is open for us to be able to use for that
[9:54] And then do you already have with the ball like because I know it's different field lengths and things do you already have that we get that
[10:33] I'll do whatever I need to do as far as like the way where I just wanted to run it through
[10:38] the wreck to try to like, you guys have already done all this, you guys know all of them
[10:48] so that's why I was trying to winters wanting it to start.
[10:56] I talked to Derek about it, and he said like, and like I just mentioned that, well,
[11:04] between football and junior jazz to do the thing between there.
[11:10] So basically in the summer, in the summer's kind of what we were thinking of in terms of timeline,
[11:16] Because when does fight the ball in and soccer in?
[11:20] Like football will be done when they will September or maybe the fish we caught
[11:24] October and September.
[11:27] And softball will go into October or September.
[11:31] I'm going to October.
[11:33] I think so.
[11:34] So can we start girls volleyball then junior jazz?
[11:38] Oh, girls volleyball is just going to fall.
[11:40] So we're trying to find the-
[11:42] But where he doesn't want to use the red.
[11:46] We're trying to find a space where kids don't have as much going on so we can get as many
[11:51] in a while because we talked about January and February at first but more kids do junior
[11:56] jazz and the high school or the junior high kids are doing their best of all so we feel
[12:03] like that maybe we can start it a little earlier so we can avoid and be done before Christmas
[12:08] and avoid that and you know in the middle of October right chase.
[12:12] Yeah, because I don't want to interfere, we are such a small community, I don't want to give it to anyone with a number of support.
[12:23] I want to do it every tweet where we don't have as many sports going on.
[12:30] We could do something like that.
[12:37] It's going to be, it's going to run simultaneously with things but I think that if we do it in that late fall early winter time,
[12:47] we have less kids doing things than we do in January February because then they're getting, then they've got junior jazz and basketball and all the spring sports are starting there.
[13:01] You want to work out stuff usually then too, so.
[13:04] And I think if you run it out as an open gym,
[13:07] you sign up, you pay for each day or each week.
[13:10] But if you're signing up, you're not having to try that.
[13:13] That works, though.
[13:13] But I think we just do a flat registration fee,
[13:16] and then that is.
[13:16] What would you charge for your registration pool?
[13:19] That's the thing you need, though, is,
[13:20] because Chase, this is another question.
[13:22] Do you have umpires?
[13:24] Are you just planning on, hey, look, some parents
[13:27] going to do it, or do you need umpires?
[13:29] because that would probably be the fee and it's the
[13:32] armory going to charge to use the facility because
[13:35] sometimes they do, sometimes they don't, depending on
[13:37] I mean it's through the rack they usually don't, so
[13:41] if you want insurance or equipment, you can probably
[13:46] be pretty low if they want to, if this really is just
[13:48] kind of a pay show up, play that thing.
[13:50] Well we need a supervisor or something, so we're too
[13:52] on if he's willing to do that or what we love.
[13:54] Chase is willing to do it, I'm willing to do it.
[13:56] He would run the league essentially, we would just take
[13:58] registration. That's the most good. We talked, Chase, if I talk about maybe having
[14:05] high school kids help on fire. Are you wanting to do that? Chase, and if so, or are we
[14:10] wanting to pay them? Or what are you thinking in that regard?
[14:15] No, so we'll be there for open gyms. I was going to, like, so we'll hold open gyms for
[14:21] the baseball team. And it'll be right after this league, like, we'll run it the league before
[14:29] and then get into hall. I don't think you. So essentially, I'm just going to have our
[14:35] high school boys run and be in fires. Are you volunteering them or are we going to pay them?
[14:49] I think we'd like the key registration as low as possible so we can get more kids to sign up, but we need to make sure that we...
[15:00] Obviously, cover costs, whatever that's going to be. So they're just going to volunteer, and we can keep it really pretty well because we won't have to pay for equipment or umbs or anything else other than a facility fee. But I think that the way, if I remember, we only have to pay if we're making money off. And so we're not making money. I don't mean we have to save the schools. That's not right.
[15:45] So what would we charge it like at that point, you don't even need to charge for a
[16:07] You're just trying to figure out how much cost you think we would have associated with it.
[16:12] So what you want to teach her, I mean, the actual cost, we're not trying to make any money.
[16:16] And we're just trying to say, look, you got to run a lead.
[16:20] It's cost to that lead, like, is there a trophy?
[16:22] Is there, you know, whatever there is?
[16:24] And that's, so, like, with football,
[16:26] there's a pack of football, there's a lot of cost, right?
[16:29] Because of all the equipment, you know,
[16:30] tell them it's have to be reject, you know, all that stuff.
[16:34] So we're just trying to keep it,
[16:36] so we just need to know.
[16:38] I don't know what, like, I didn't know
[16:41] and I think insurance is stuff like that that needs to be covered or not.
[16:46] Well, we do, but it's already paid for, right?
[16:49] And so we just have to add that to the insurance policy to let it know.
[16:54] So there's no extra, there shouldn't be any extra costs associated with that.
[16:57] I was thinking, like, reversible of this.
[16:59] And so, I honestly think that this, I mean,
[17:02] I don't know if it's fine, or not.
[17:03] I think it looks like it would start.
[17:05] So we just kind of need to know how much cost, you know,
[17:08] Is there going to be which sounds like it's miniscule my biggest thing is I think there should be some cost simply for the fact
[17:17] But if there's no cost you might get a bunch of kids to sign up, but there will be no commitment
[17:23] And I want there to be some kind of commitment
[17:26] Right
[17:27] And parents pay something, even though it's not very much like they something
[17:31] Maybe your kids are going to do this
[17:32] I think it helps with the commitment of showing up each week so they act
[17:35] So we actually have kids coming when it's not just five or six, it makes it a little better if there is like a shirt
[17:41] That has a number on it, right? It makes it seem like so.
[17:44] It's not as bad as we should instead of just show it.
[17:46] But if it's an open gym, like they had mentioned media reversible jersey.
[17:50] Yeah, so you can split up teams' data.
[17:54] I mean, at the same time, baseball, it doesn't really matter as much to your shirt.
[17:59] You're not passing a ball to your teammates where you need to have that.
[18:02] So you can do all the same t-shirts.
[18:04] Just one color. I think everyone gets a shirt. Chase leads differently, but to me, I don't think it matters as much.
[18:11] I just think that's more promoting to if a kid wears a new school uniform. With the tunes that I'll wear something.
[18:17] What's the law of 2025?
[18:19] I think you should ultimately not think Chase here because he just wants to lead to happen in a particular show.
[18:24] So, whenever we want to do that, I think it's fine.
[18:27] He's just saying, I've got the stuff.
[18:30] So you'll run the league, we would run registration and order the shirts.
[18:37] So we do that kind of for wrestling, they run the league, we take registration, we buy
[18:44] the shirts.
[18:45] Well, this is discussion of provostalmic emotion that we approve, a follow-up with Paul Lee,
[18:52] with the understanding that we would still just need to know, you know, any kind of cost associated with that.
[19:00] That's probably the only thing that we need to know, Chase, so again, if you guys can, I mean, so we'll plan on.
[19:07] Maybe get together after the meeting and we can sit down and talk about when we're opening registration, when the season will be.
[19:15] We can't really do that right here where I don't have the information.
[19:18] No, I actually think that one thing that we meet in general is just like a whole year schedule of life
[19:24] Yeah, this is when junior jazz
[19:28] Registration is this is when it ends right this is going to leave runs. This is when base, which I have in my
[19:35] And Shawnee had
[19:40] I think it would be good to have even just for the board as a handout so that when people have questions for you guys
[19:58] But if we want to approve this for now with like a stipulation of getting together.
[20:04] All second motion.
[20:06] Okay, so we have a motion to approve the work while we.
[20:09] For all winter time frame details will be ironed out for the later date.
[20:22] I'll give you a call and we'll get with these guys in the next couple weeks into that
[20:26] role.
[20:27] Okay.
[20:28] Thanks, buddy.
[20:30] Oh.
[20:30] You need more.
[20:31] What do you need for me?
[20:33] Nothing right now.
[20:34] We'll get together with these guys in the next couple weeks and get things rolling in
[20:40] terms of dates and all the finer details, but that'll be fine.
[20:43] We can we'll do that later, so
[20:47] Possibly thank you guys for listening to me. I appreciate you. Thank you. Okay. See you, buddy
[20:53] Just to finalize that any opposed
[20:57] Okay, that's all yes
[21:01] Okay item agenda number four discussion approve of costs and purchase of new chairs and rubber mulch
[21:09] I'll start with the information for chairs
[21:13] Jason sent me his bids.
[21:17] Oh, cool, sir.
[21:18] Clearly he's out of it for a job, OK?
[21:23] And the other one that I called was out of town.
[21:25] So we'll work on it this week.
[21:29] I do have, so I talked to Lifetime,
[21:34] the store in Orum gave me some information about what
[21:37] they can do for mulch.
[21:38] Their multi comes in a bag that is about the size of 180 cubic feet.
[21:52] The way my math came out was we needed 33 of these bags to cover the area and each
[21:58] bag cost $750.
[22:00] $150. So it came out plus shipping at $25,617 from Lifetime.
[22:09] The shipping was 900 bucks, but I don't know that we would go deep.
[22:13] Don't worry about that one deep, but it was like 18.
[22:16] I can't remember a whole close. Something like 18.
[22:20] But we had to go get it.
[22:22] No, that was delivered.
[22:25] With delivery, I think it was 18.
[22:27] Okay, so lifetime seems like it's high that seems time. Okay, but on the other hand with chairs
[22:35] Home Depot Walmart Amazon all can provide the exact same chair
[22:42] So as it is right now we have
[22:45] 60 of this like this particular style of lifetime chair. It's a 500 pound rated chair
[22:52] Plastic, they're really nice
[22:54] and so I was trying to get the exact same chair and I can get that same chair
[23:00] from all three locations, Home Depot, Walmart, and Amazon for really close to like $38 of
[23:10] chair, which comes out to $5,600 to $5,700 for each, all three of those.
[23:20] So I thought, well, what is lifetime charge for that chair?
[23:25] If we go pick them up in Orang, they charge $26 a chair.
[23:32] So it came to $3,900, so that made sense, that's where we get it.
[23:39] That's 140 chairs, which would give us 200 of the exact same chair.
[23:45] and do they take the tax exemption and we can set that up.
[23:51] I couldn't remember if you told me that or not.
[23:53] Yeah, so if I have for give us a bid price on that and we can cut a P.O.
[23:59] even at that rate.
[24:01] All right.
[24:02] You have to spend a certain amount for something to do.
[24:04] Oh, you're right.
[24:05] To cut a P.O. you had to spend a certain amount.
[24:07] We're still saving money regardless.
[24:09] Oh, we're saving $2,000.
[24:11] So even without the tax exemption, it's a better deal.
[24:15] This has come out of the project fund.
[24:17] Yes.
[24:18] Which is in the fund right now.
[24:21] Of course, I think what have we bought out of that?
[24:25] I don't know what we bought.
[24:26] Did we pay junior jobs out of yet?
[24:28] We bought the helmets, the football helmets.
[24:30] The speakers.
[24:31] The speakers, yeah.
[24:33] And that was roughly 5,000 for each.
[24:37] So we've spent about 10 out of the hundred.
[24:41] And the next agenda item is going to affect things that as well, right?
[24:47] No.
[24:48] The chairs?
[24:50] No, the lighting.
[24:51] Oh, the lighting.
[24:52] Yeah, we'll get there.
[24:53] Yeah.
[24:55] That could be a little drop of blanket.
[24:58] So far we've spent less on each of the items that we just discussed.
[25:03] We're looking at doing volleyball soon, the net, and polls for that.
[25:09] And then we've also been looking at the car for the vehicle and the mulch.
[25:17] So with the chairs, will they invoice you?
[25:20] Where do we have to use a credit card?
[25:23] That's what I think she can do an invoice where we're going to.
[25:28] Because we still have to order them through their store.
[25:31] But we could get invoice. The problem we've been having is with doing the projects or credit card limits only $8,000.
[25:39] So when I ordered the helmets, then I ordered the stuff for the sound system.
[25:44] My credit card was getting declined because I'd gone.
[25:48] So we're looking up in the limit.
[25:51] But I think I can get invoiced on is better.
[25:55] Like this where we're going to the store to grab these.
[25:57] I think we can get an interest so I would give a check on the bank and take a check.
[26:03] Okay.
[26:06] So that's what my proposal is with the chairs.
[26:11] I'm proposing that we buy in straight from lifetime and I'll just go pick them up.
[26:17] It's $3,900.
[26:19] Do you have a trailer?
[26:22] So I'm now ready for approval.
[26:25] I don't know.
[26:25] So I'm looking for a motion.
[26:27] and we can go through these other three
[26:30] and spend the extra $2,000 and haven't delivered,
[26:34] but I'm willing to offer my services for that.
[26:38] Well, we can pay that,
[26:40] so whatever for now, we can.
[26:43] And then, in and out for her, maybe.
[26:46] Oh.
[26:48] So if you want to take more ever more,
[26:50] so we can be at a bid.
[26:51] I would.
[26:52] Yeah.
[26:53] Um, where it's in both,
[27:02] where we're approving
[27:03] the tables were discussing the mole.
[27:06] Yeah.
[27:07] Perfect.
[27:08] The chair is on the table.
[27:09] I would like the motion to approve
[27:11] the purchase of new chairs
[27:13] for the lifetime.
[27:15] I understand that you'll go pick them up
[27:17] and we'll take care of that way.
[27:19] And then we'll continue the discussion
[27:21] on the,
[27:23] the wall should tell you the idea
[27:25] of all of this.
[27:28] Okay.
[27:28] Got a motion?
[27:30] I'll second this motion.
[27:31] We've got a motion in a second, we've spent a money on this one so why are we starting
[27:37] the room?
[27:37] Yes.
[27:40] Yes.
[27:40] Yes.
[27:41] Yes.
[27:42] Okay.
[27:43] Let's everyone.
[27:44] Yes.
[27:45] Okay.
[27:45] Next item.
[27:57] Item number five, discussion, musk-oliting cost estimate to replace complex lighting.
[28:04] Anyone want to take a wild guess as to what this price came in at?
[28:08] We're not going to tell you all.
[28:10] Do you know we saw the movie from guessing.
[28:14] That was a good guess.
[28:15] I was expecting to see it.
[28:16] 400,000 on the whole field.
[28:19] That's just for the employees.
[28:20] That's a very 50, but the way you said it,
[28:22] I'm like, I'm going to go a little higher.
[28:25] 400,000.
[28:26] Yeah, so this was a couple of boys and everything.
[28:29] Just the equipment, not installation,
[28:32] but I think that's Paul's lighting.
[28:33] So it says sub-tax unloading and installation of equipment and bonding are not included.
[28:41] Are not included.
[28:45] So you probably look important in 50.
[28:47] Yeah, maybe more.
[28:48] Maybe more.
[28:51] Well really, because this isn't a guarantee that the location of the existing poles are even
[28:59] in work for this lighting.
[29:01] So it could even be more.
[29:10] I can't guarantee that they didn't just take an aerial view of the four fields and then design
[29:16] their lighting so specific to those fields or did they actually look at where the old holes
[29:24] were and design their lighting around that. I don't know that, which would affect the cost of it.
[29:30] And would we need to get ?
[29:31] We're going to be up there $400,000.
[29:34] That's a great question.
[29:36] Sure. Counts.
[29:37] We don't know.
[29:37] Not worth it.
[29:38] We're going to lose so many.
[29:39] I don't think so.
[29:42] But this is a more like a CIA readout than a match.
[29:46] I just wanna say that everyone,
[29:49] there would be discussion of a CIA, yeah.
[29:52] A match.
[29:53] Well, what do you mean by match?
[29:55] Explain that.
[29:58] So, C-I-B usually matters.
[30:00] Which is, or we'll do a percentage of loan or grant depending on how much cash we match to it. The benefit to the community ways heavy on what they would grant for.
[30:17] Yeah, so it's it's it's from Mineral East dollars. So this is from coal and gas rollouties. The state gives it
[30:29] percentage of that that come back to the communities on projects. So it sounds like 70-30 is
[30:40] they would do 30% grant, 70% if you do a loan,
[30:46] they could potentially loan with no interest,
[30:49] but that's kind of tough too.
[30:52] But where it's owned by the county,
[30:53] would that be the county getting the loan
[30:55] or the wreck department?
[30:57] The wreck, we would be getting the loan.
[31:01] And, or, and you can't,
[31:04] if, if, correct me if I'm wrong in this,
[31:06] when you can't get other grants and use that,
[31:09] that, those grant money is towards a 70%.
[31:13] They typically don't like that, right?
[31:16] Typically, but you could potentially do federal dollars
[31:21] with state dollars, but not state dollars with state dollars.
[31:26] That's a federal credit, I think you're going to do it over.
[31:29] That's a state, a state, a state, a state.
[31:31] They owe the bill, they won't do that.
[31:33] They don't want the other, they don't want the other.
[31:36] And CIV is like a board that you have to present it to,
[31:39] and then they both.
[31:49] So this, this is something that, like me and Andy
[31:57] made have had some discussions about going after some grants for this kind of
[32:02] stuff. She's going on helping, helping us write some grants for that kind of
[32:07] stuff with these projects. Now if it's sold correctly, you could maybe get 50-50, depending
[32:16] on the percentage of fits. And honestly, that complex is probably our biggest contributor
[32:24] to be able to go after grants because of just the amount of time that people are there
[32:29] in the kind of environment that I was talking to Andy.
[32:36] She has an app that she can pull data from people's locations and she can actually see
[32:45] how many outside people who come in to any bands.
[32:47] So she just toying around pulled the baseball tournament we did and she saw that there were
[32:59] three days and she could see where they had gone and traveled around too. So the
[33:05] complex really is probably our best bet if we were going to go after grant money to
[33:11] be awarded grant money. This is still a lot of money though. There are there are
[33:18] park grants out there that could cover a lot of that but this is something we
[33:25] would really need to table until next year but we need to be working on it and have
[33:29] like in the down the road and be working on what we can do to get there was the
[33:36] person that you're talking about that does the grants and indeed she works for the
[33:41] county but she's offered her service she's she worked with other districts
[33:47] she might be able to help us with the outdoor rent and it seems to be a little
[33:53] more, it can be a bigger grant. The outdoor rent grants are 20 days. I think just getting
[34:00] that ball rolling with working with her, it's going to change anything from us to start working
[34:06] toward that.
[34:11] And it is something that we can do with those grants. A lot of some of those grants are 80,
[34:17] 2020 and it's tough to get an 80-20 where they actually cover 80 percent. We don't bring 20 percent to the table, but
[34:26] The more you can bring to the table, especially if you bring to the table community groups, they're willing to perform and services
[34:34] for the project.
[34:36] Then you can get the grant a lot easier if other entities are willing to put forth their network on the project.
[34:45] that sells the grant a lot better to the people off on the money, so that's my discussion
[34:53] on it. This is definitely not something we have. The budget for it now, but I do see a huge
[34:59] value in this, that compost gets used more than anything else we have. It draws in a lot
[35:08] numbers and it draws in numbers that are spending money in our community so help now the community as a whole.
[35:16] I need to. Yeah, not like this.
[35:19] I'll sketch.
[35:25] So.
[35:26] One poll at a time.
[35:27] One poll at a time.
[35:28] Yeah.
[35:29] One poll a month.
[35:31] I'll need to replace the first one by the time we pay off.
[35:38] It's like the Golden Gate Bridge by the time you've done your start and you need to use it for the first time.
[35:48] So, this was a discussion, and we only put it as a discussion because we need the numbers to occupy.
[35:57] Any other discussion questions on how?
[36:00] Okay,
[36:08] your head rolling, you got some ideas?
[36:10] Good.
[36:14] Fresh ideas.
[36:17] Okay, so item discussion number six, item number six, discussion approval, consideration
[36:24] of compensation or bonus for interim, recreation director.
[36:28] Last month, we figured out so that we paid care at time and a half for her time up until
[36:36] the 13th of July from the 13th of July with I'm proposing that we pay
[36:43] her time to have through the rest of her director in term which ended on the
[36:50] 27th 28th 27th of July. Do you have notes for this?
[37:01] Okay,
[37:06] 62 regular hours, 16 hour
[37:08] Yeah, I know total is 78.
[37:11] So total is 78 total hours and I might have noticed I didn't, I thought I had what we
[37:20] paid per hour, but I don't, I just have the total on my notes, so we're gonna feel that
[37:28] again.
[37:28] I thought you'd have to map all of this.
[37:33] So little bit of backstory of my second oldest son got married Saturday and that's all
[37:39] I've been focused on for a few days, and then today I started back up on folks
[37:44] a month stuff and I didn't get there yet. So you're at 2.1 an hour.
[37:54] 7.8 hours for this period. For two weeks.
[37:58] For two weeks.
[38:00] Now, but you've only been paid for 62 of the 78 hours, right?
[38:05] Who raised that with that?
[38:06] So 62 regular hours.
[38:08] $1.16 hours has to be
[38:15] $2.9 hours.
[38:20] The reason that matter is $10.50 an hour is your overtime pay.
[38:27] So $21 is your regular.
[38:29] $31.50 is overtime.
[38:32] So for 62 hours we would do $10.50.
[38:46] $16.00 an hour?
[38:48] $16.00 I think it was.
[38:49] So that's $651 to pay for the overtime above for regular hours and then 16 at
[38:59] full overtime is
[39:10] $540. So 16 hours at $31.50 an hour, $504 plus $651
[39:22] .155. Does
[39:29] anyone want to check that?
[39:34] So what I'm proposing with item number six is that we pay care an additional $1,155 in
[39:47] bonus to members for director in-term and that will finish out that responsibility.
[39:55] discussion
[40:06] on that question so I can do the skin so we care has been paid 60 you
[40:19] You want to? No, I don't want to.
[40:21] I was joking.
[40:24] Okay.
[40:24] Um, to get care of a bonus as the interim
[40:29] evaluation director at $1,052.
[40:34] Okay, I have a motion and a second to
[40:38] pay care of a bonus of $1,055
[40:43] to compensate for interim director.
[40:48] This is the money that I am so we're starting.
[40:51] Yes.
[40:52] Yes.
[40:54] Yes.
[40:54] Yes.
[40:55] Yes.
[40:56] Yes.
[40:56] Yes.
[40:57] That's a one.
[40:58] Wow.
[40:59] Terrace.
[40:59] Yes.
[41:00] Yes.
[41:04] Again.
[41:05] Terrace.
[41:06] Thank you so much for all the work that you've done because it's been-
[41:09] In the longs and a half.
[41:11] It's been massive.
[41:11] So thank you so much for doing that.
[41:19] Item number seven, discussion approval, consulting fee for Shawnee's snout.
[41:27] So this was kind of a discussion, when Shawnee put under two weeks not as she went to Valor,
[41:40] but Carrot was needing some help with things, just figuring things out here and there.
[41:44] And so Shawnee was coming in on her hours outside of valor and working with
[41:52] care to make sure that our bills were paid. The tax is about done. She helped her get all the taxes down.
[41:58] After her two weeks, after she got done. So during her two weeks, no, she was getting her pay.
[42:07] But then after she hit was gone, no longer. She continued to come back and help and
[42:13] and how many hours did we figure there?
[42:15] I had it on the paper.
[42:20] It was like six, 10, and it was 10 hours.
[42:24] So it's not long.
[42:24] It wasn't a ton, but it was over the course of like a week
[42:29] that she would come in.
[42:33] And so her pay was 27.
[42:37] We figured that out, too.
[42:38] Yeah.
[42:39] So we had figured out.
[42:40] And then with like also calls and text messages,
[42:44] as we kind of rounded up to about $250 with her regular time, then like also I'm calling
[42:51] and texting her all the time too, so we kind of just rounded that up to $250, I do believe
[42:56] it was $250.
[43:02] So that's what we're proposing is that we to pay Sean a small for her extra consulting fee
[43:10] time with us to get along her coming in and getting our second quarter taxes
[43:18] done along really say Tarpa's there and helped us out of time and then
[43:24] there was a lot of different. Yeah, monthly taxes, quarterly taxes, transparency
[43:28] reports and then just general questions and things like that.
[43:38] So that's the
[43:38] Proposal the question to the board is we're looking to pay Shawnee snow $250 for it and sold in a few
[43:50] Consolting fee for Shawnee snow for $250
[43:55] I'll second there it's motion.
[43:59] Okay, so we've got a motion in a second Lonnie will start. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes
[44:06] It's issue finished. Is she well consulting or?
[44:13] I mean it depends if I can get her to come and do so so as for right now
[44:21] ask for right now I've told her no more so she doesn't want so this pays her
[44:27] for more done but if she does come and offer services I'm gonna ask her to
[44:34] deal with us and that I brought that up with her last time that is she's gonna
[44:41] continue to keep coming in and I was being needed to send us a bill and we decided
[44:48] through that discussion we're just we're done she wanted to bond and so yes yes yes yes yes
[44:58] Okay, so that passes.
[45:04] Item number eight, discussion regarding the potential hiring of an external financial consultant for the recreation department. This was something that was brought up in the Special Service District meeting for the EMS group. The audit team that had been brought in to look at the books for the emergency emergency management. Suggested that as an audit team, they can't keep
[45:34] be correcting the finances and stay in auditing, it's not good for them and it's not, it's just not a good fit.
[45:46] So they suggested on that district that we hire a separate accounting firm to come in and
[45:51] counsel or go through books and help bring it up, which maybe think with Kate being new and
[46:01] And Kara, with where we're at in our district, would it be wise to bring in a consulting firm and accounting consulting firm?
[46:12] So I calmed around, actually got a hold of, right now, our auditor is Kimball and Roberts, it's the same auditor that the county has, they're at a rich field.
[46:28] And I talked to Rick today and he's the one that he's familiar with with our district.
[46:36] His suggestion to us was that he's available to call and ask questions at any time.
[46:46] And he suggested with his claim that our books are that it wouldn't be that hard to get
[46:52] you on track with where you need to be.
[46:54] And
[46:58] he really didn't see a need in hiring him, isn't it?
[47:01] That was a question.
[47:03] He was willing...
[47:06] He was willing to help us.
[47:08] He felt comfortable that we're clean enough with our books
[47:12] that he can help us with questions and energy things.
[47:16] Well, we passed on it.
[47:17] So we really are doing okay.
[47:21] And as far as the information we have,
[47:23] I mean, not certain.
[47:23] I mean, those 10 hours were showing us, you know, showing us some things like there's there's really not a whole lot for me to go off of.
[47:31] No, no, there's no, like reports or anything. I can look at it's really hard to find that information.
[47:37] So it's kind of hard to even find a start and point how to dive into some of those, you know, taxes and budget thing and just financial side of things.
[47:44] What reports do they do? What reports do you guys file over here?
[47:49] Like, so there's the transparency report that we have to file, there's mumbling quarterly taxes, there's URS.
[48:01] The mumbling quarterly taxes, so that quarterly taxes, you've got to be like your 931 quarterly returns to pay your payroll tax.
[48:09] What were you talking about?
[48:10] I should, yeah, it is payroll tax, yeah, right, and then there's also what's the other
[48:19] one?
[48:21] Reconcycling.
[48:22] I would say that they were having the biggest problem with right now is reconciling the
[48:27] accounts.
[48:28] And I brought that up with him.
[48:30] He suggested that a phone call to either Kyle, who is one of the owners of Chloris, would
[48:38] would be able to clarify all that up for it.
[48:42] Yeah, Rick said use plurus as much as he possibly can on the recon side.
[48:46] So there's trainings out there, and this guy, he even suggested plurus offers an in-house
[48:53] training up north that he's, he says it way good if we want to send you to that.
[48:58] Well, and I don't think it's really a problem with being familiar with plurus.
[49:02] more like finding where like we are as familiar with the bills and the big account and where
[49:09] money is coming and going. So when you reconcile an account like we actually did it the other
[49:14] day but we got to like $270 that we you know Shawnee would know where to look for that $270
[49:22] and we just kind of don't even know where to find it. It's somewhere but we just don't know where.
[49:29] So that's kind of where we're stalled out on that.
[49:33] But we were able to figure out we didn't monthly taxes.
[49:38] You kind of...
[49:40] So the EHP's one that we're still questioning.
[49:43] Yeah.
[49:44] So the other two options that were presented to me is Shmoon,
[49:48] Richie Mars, in which we used them at Huntington City.
[49:52] I was able to have a sit-down talk with Sean.
[49:55] And he told me typically what they do for that kind of a project is do a 10 hour beginning fee of like around $100 per hour for those first 10 hours.
[50:08] Then any hours after that it depends on who we need to the specializes in what we're doing and that could be anywhere from 105 for the person or 170 for the person that we need.
[50:21] So that was kind of the ballpark I gave me, what that would cost if we went with them.
[50:28] And then the third option I was talking to Sean Bell, they've used K&C out of Woods Cross
[50:35] and Gary Keddington worked with their city to clean up their finances, which Sean said
[50:44] that this guy was able to save them a lot of fees because they were looking at their books
[50:50] who pre-messed up for a little bit, and he's able to stop some things from happening
[50:55] so that they don't have to pay some fees. When I called them, they're specialists for
[51:03] districts, special service districts, named Steve Roli, I say him an email, and I did
[51:09] not hear back from him yet today on what that would look like to hire them. As far as before,
[51:15] we're out. I don't know that it would be something that we'd need a ton of sessions with.
[51:19] It's just getting a couple of things and you know just over even just a couple of hours
[51:27] maybe three or four hours worth of some sort of training I think would give it get us on on track.
[51:32] And then one budget season budget is big right now.
[51:37] And Rick talked about budgets too so he's a lot of information there because I talked to him about how we receive money this year.
[51:47] so we need to amend the budget.
[51:48] So he actually says you need to open budget to public
[51:53] and have a public hearing.
[51:55] But we have to actually amend the budget
[51:56] and we don't really know how to do that.
[51:59] Yeah, that he does.
[52:00] Okay.
[52:02] Like we can't be hearing if we don't have something
[52:04] to present and then it is amended budget.
[52:08] Yeah.
[52:09] Which we do need to do because-
[52:11] Which we do need to do.
[52:12] Yeah, we have more finances on what we originally mentioned.
[52:16] I think if Kibble and Roberts are willing to do it and just hey, let's do this advice,
[52:21] it's probably the best place to start, and then if still after that, the next meeting,
[52:26] you're still like, hey, look, we're still, you know, behind you, need some help, you know,
[52:30] hiring somebody like a computer and marketing to say, you know, say, okay, give us, I mean,
[52:36] you know, ten, ten is required, you know, if you could do it for five hours, have some training
[52:46] I do know, I work with Flores, and I know that they help you out a lot.
[52:51] There's just even with the new URS website, ARAS, they're pretty pro at it.
[52:57] They've learned along with it, but they can answer and troubles you with a whole lot of
[53:01] diffs.
[53:02] So do you do your budget through Flores?
[53:08] Maybe I can pay you gas money to come hang out for a day.
[53:14] Yeah, I don't do a whole lot on the budget, but I do some.
[53:17] Well, you got to just some all those reports you're talking like associated payroll.
[53:21] Yes, that's what I do.
[53:22] Okay.
[53:24] Great.
[53:24] I mean, I would be a help with that even just talking through the reports.
[53:28] Yeah, that would be awesome.
[53:30] I would actually be really helpful if you would be willing to maybe even if you
[53:37] came a little early before the next board meeting or just we can work something
[53:41] out. Okay yeah that would be awesome yeah but yeah
[53:46] course is really good. The only thing I strongly ask is the fact that you call
[53:49] to explain your question they sometimes don't really answer so they have to email
[53:54] over to somebody and you're just sitting on hold while they're discussing your
[53:58] stuff and then come back with an answer. I'm like if you would just get the
[54:01] middleman and let me talk to the person who you're asking. So that's kind of
[54:06] a little headache with Polaris and a little overall they're great. Kyle is
[54:11] awfully busy and hard to get through sometimes. You can't ever, like even for our
[54:16] audit, our auditors couldn't even get him to answer a lot during our audit.
[54:21] Rick mentioned that, but yeah, and then Sean, I work straight with Sean for a lot of years, too, and he's great.
[54:34] Yeah, I've enjoyed working with that company as well. They're really good.
[54:52] So sometimes with those, the hardest part is getting locked in to your website, the
[54:59] So like with a new hire like Kate is there anything we I just put we put his information in florist and we
[55:06] hate it like what else do we need to do well we got it's your ass but what do you do with the W2
[55:15] You can see it in the year, so you don't find out that it was here until the end of the year.
[55:20] Okay.
[55:20] But so the next thing is, so that might be...
[55:22] So that might be...
[55:24] Yeah, so the only year, third quarter you'll add yourself to that third quarter night of the month.
[55:30] Okay.
[55:31] Yeah, that's...
[55:31] That might look like tags.
[55:33] And then the state would have put an image, or it's just the organization that's paying the state tags.
[55:39] Or it's that, like I said, when that quarter comes up, I could have put that.
[55:43] Okay, yeah, we just need to add in when we do the quarterly taxes.
[55:47] If you get decent wars, he's already out of it, so when you can't go create that, we just
[55:51] print that report and then we take those numbers in to the tax, the quarterly tax, okay.
[55:57] I just didn't know if there was something I had to do.
[55:59] What are you doing better than you think you are?
[56:05] I'm like, I know I was supposed to fill out a W2, but like, what do I do?
[56:09] Well, that's really what why this really this discussion like came up is really to help them calm down and feel comfortable there in the right pass.
[56:18] Right.
[56:20] And just make sure because it's not like anything anything intentional is being done.
[56:26] It's just we don't want to inadvertently mess something up.
[56:34] Have you or any registered with the state for state retirement?
[56:41] That's the U.R.S. and then there's the A.H.P.
[56:45] I don't, we haven't looked at anything on that yet.
[56:47] I'm currently getting some quotes on health and treated.
[56:50] There's nothing in place or anything.
[56:52] So I've just reached out.
[56:54] On terms of disability.
[56:56] She should have the last and the half.
[57:00] So there was a, so how did you jump into it?
[57:03] I guess I'm close.
[57:04] I've never figured out that.
[57:05] So I have a guy that I'm working with on that.
[57:16] Yeah, it was more of a discussion to see where we wanted this.
[57:20] If the board felt like it would be wise for us to move forward with.
[57:25] We'll just bring in an outside source and just double check everything and help these guys out a little bit.
[57:32] But after my discussion, Rick, I'm with you, like I think, I think for now,
[57:39] unless you guys feel differently, but I think for now we utilize Polaris as much as we possibly can, Rick, as much as we possibly can, and then, when we're extremely stumped,
[57:53] Yeah.
[57:54] And I think it would be a bit of a specific thing.
[57:58] Yeah.
[58:00] I have no idea what this means.
[58:02] I have no idea what this report is.
[58:03] And so we don't even know where it could go.
[58:05] Yeah.
[58:06] Just your identity is situation like that.
[58:08] Another is normal.
[58:10] Right.
[58:10] We don't have any experience here.
[58:12] Let's figure that out.
[58:14] I think that he has a lot to make.
[58:16] Yeah.
[58:17] That's his file.
[58:17] Yeah.
[58:17] I didn't think of Lonnie also using Chloris.
[58:20] I just needed a good, good ol' Chloris person.
[58:25] Yeah, so we can choose the resources that the ones
[58:27] that you found in the Lonnie as well.
[58:30] See where we're at and then go for it, and see what we're at.
[58:33] And I think, so realistically, I really don't know
[58:38] that as a board, we have to vote for you to like pay
[58:42] shooting, reaching Mars in 300 bucks to consult you on a project that you
[58:48] stomped on. Like that's not something really has to be brought to the board, that's
[58:52] something you needed to get your work done. It's more like if we were going to
[58:57] hire them as our accountants over a long period of time. So I think we're good on
[59:03] this. Okay, thanks for the discussion everyone. Yeah. There's no other questions or
[59:11] Comments about eight moving on to financial report approval of the bill before this okay, so we we had a pretty interesting bill
[59:24] Coming from Huntington City for water for better free campground
[59:30] Quite
[59:30] For water
[59:33] Because they used
[59:38] Yeah, last come on very cheap cat man used around close to $8,000 for water
[59:44] Oh, it's your business mate.
[59:46] That's how I felt when I got the bill in the mail.
[59:52] $8,000.
[59:52] That's what the bill says, like $7,000.
[59:55] How many?
[59:55] I can't tell.
[59:56] I can't tell.
[59:56] I can't tell.
[59:57] I can't tell.
[59:57] It was like, you're putting your zero to me.
[59:58] What is it?
[59:59] It was like, you're putting your zero to me.
[59:59] It was like, you're putting your zero to me.
[1:00:00] End of gallons. Yeah, it was like 20,000 starting and then another 30,000. Well, of course, we, like, all free gallons start calling everyone. Yeah. So, so I, yeah, I call Ronnie and it's in city. We discussed. I'm like, Ronnie, that's, that's an inch and a half waterline broken 24 seven for a whole month. That's a lot of water. And I can pretty sure someone would have seen that. Yeah.
[1:00:29] So, they, Huntington City reached out, they, they ended up talking to, um, special water
[1:00:36] service, service, service, service, service, service, service, service, service, service,
[1:00:41] Yes,
[1:00:45] Jacob Sharp and Jacob's like, you know what, that's all right, let me get to
[1:00:49] Vaughn's.
[1:00:50] So, in the meantime, um, we're just going to pay Huntington City the same amount of
[1:00:55] the last mile until they get the meter to that.
[1:01:00] It's apparently what it looks like is that they put a new meter in back in April, and
[1:01:06] they're not quite sure the meter was working right from then.
[1:01:11] We didn't have a reading, our last reading was April, so our first reading was now in July,
[1:01:19] but in the next year, so there was a gap where they didn't know so it probably could be a
[1:01:22] reading.
[1:01:23] They could be that too yet, but even at that.
[1:01:26] Or they didn't see her out the meter when they put it in.
[1:01:29] Well, and I talked to the crew that went up there and looked at it, and they even found
[1:01:32] a plug in the water line before the meter when they were trying to figure out what was
[1:01:37] going on with the meter.
[1:01:38] So we weren't even getting the pressure before that one.
[1:01:42] You're like, we're getting everything paid for $8,000.
[1:01:45] Yeah, I was like, you're doing a lot of money, man.
[1:01:48] Hey, I'll tell you what.
[1:01:49] That's what I said.
[1:01:49] I'm not paying now.
[1:01:53] I'd rather pay the money than fight one hell.
[1:01:55] Oh no, I was ready to fight.
[1:01:57] I had to fight.
[1:02:00] So we're working on it.
[1:02:02] Anyway, I just wanted to bring that to everyone's attention.
[1:02:04] And we've got to talk about it, you know.
[1:02:07] The water is moving to everybody.
[1:02:09] Don't worry.
[1:02:10] Be careful.
[1:02:11] They're trying to get their own light.
[1:02:13] Hey, hey.
[1:02:17] Honestly, this type of ink thing is getting out of control.
[1:02:20] I know that. What is behind me? What is that?
[1:02:24] What is that?
[1:02:27] So that was football helmets.
[1:02:29] So, high being kids, it's like Scottie is doing spotty
[1:02:32] and he sources all of our like T-ball helmets.
[1:02:36] He does soft balls, like I order soft balls from him.
[1:02:40] I ordered the football helmets from him
[1:02:42] because my credit card not declined
[1:02:44] because I ordered sound equipment for the wreck
[1:02:46] and Helen voiced me.
[1:02:49] So it's just unfortunate that the name is perfect
[1:02:52] for a tattoo card.
[1:02:56] It's legitimate, everyone.
[1:02:58] It's legitimate, you talk about it.
[1:03:00] Do we have, looking at the bills,
[1:03:04] anyone have any other questions?
[1:03:07] What's the form of payout Chinese card?
[1:03:10] So her credit card this month was kind of crazy
[1:03:13] because we were shutting down her card.
[1:03:16] So she had like all these points so we used the points to help pay that card off
[1:03:22] So it just made it really hard for me to actually create a claim for that
[1:03:27] So I just did it like
[1:03:30] Just pay off her card with it with like a payment
[1:03:34] It's hard to create a claim and put it in florist with a negative charge
[1:03:40] Her card still had a balance on it
[1:03:42] Yeah, so that's the balance after we put the credits on there from like
[1:03:49] the point. Does she have a card yet? Yes, okay. So she had $829 in points that we
[1:04:01] applied.
[1:04:05] So instead of like breaking it down to what it is lined by line, I just did
[1:04:14] But
[1:04:17] most of the stuff on her card was from the sound system, and then there was like Canva and one other thing.
[1:04:32] I have a motion and a second to pay the bills on it to start with you.
[1:04:37] Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, thank you for paying the bills.
[1:04:49] Is there any upcoming events, the board members, what's this?
[1:04:55] Yes.
[1:04:56] So it's a catfish on the green at the end of the month.
[1:05:00] Do you have any fishers that are interested?
[1:05:04] The other thing, Lonnie, do you have, I know that they do a fundraiser every year.
[1:05:10] You'll think about a family or something.
[1:05:13] Last year I think it was the right department.
[1:05:15] And then the year before I think it was on the importance of the hotel, or the hotel community
[1:05:29] town for
[1:05:33] gay business, you know, I think it was built on what's the one on the left
[1:05:43] community in terms of quality and express.
[1:05:48] So think about that's
[1:05:55] all I have.
[1:06:02] anyone else? I just have a question. Yes. So I just need to know if this is
[1:06:08] something I need to be prepared to bring to like our next board meeting but I
[1:06:12] have a meeting tomorrow to there's some committee members that want to do a
[1:06:19] men's leave for basketball and so I'm just wondering if I'd something I need to be
[1:06:23] approved here or if that's just something I'm good to start or do or is that
[1:06:27] somebody to bring in here and discuss that. So last year, Jordan and this is
[1:06:38] really just a continuation. Same discussion that we've already discussed with
[1:06:43] Jordan, but Jordan needed to get with someone else after our meeting and
[1:06:48] and drop the ball.
[1:06:50] Is it, is he on his meeting with you tomorrow?
[1:06:52] It's Colton Butler.
[1:06:53] Colton Butler?
[1:06:55] I would think that you'd need to have that meeting
[1:06:57] to get something together, but all of the agenda
[1:06:59] connects to Margaret.
[1:07:00] You can stop just to think it.
[1:07:02] Someone's looking at you to think that we're just
[1:07:05] thinking about what we should be wanting to do is.
[1:07:08] I'll have a last one.
[1:07:09] I just want to know if that was something to do here or not.
[1:07:13] And I was talking to Colton about this.
[1:07:17] And it would be good to have a bigger, have a better pick on this one, it is going to be a little more financial tax.
[1:07:27] Yeah, maybe more involved with that.
[1:07:30] Right.
[1:07:31] So it would be better to have a better picture of the timeline.
[1:07:36] And what I told Martin to really, the biggest thing that affects us is knowing the numbers.
[1:07:44] So it's like how well he advertises it and get the numbers coming in is really tells us how big we've got to go with it, right?
[1:07:55] But yeah, yeah, if we could bring it to the board next coat, that'd be great.
[1:07:59] Similar numbers of like a men's softball or something.
[1:08:04] I do.
[1:08:05] Yeah. I mean, I do.
[1:08:11] just want to mention, nowadays, of course, our meeting
[1:08:14] will be before that, but we have the 5K, again,
[1:08:21] put on by the High School Athletics Department.
[1:08:24] Anybody wants to come and join that?
[1:08:25] What's the date?
[1:08:26] It's the 18th.
[1:08:28] I think it's Saturday the 18th.
[1:08:33] And they have a good golf tournament also.
[1:08:36] That's Saturday.
[1:08:37] Well, is it Friday?
[1:08:38] Friday, that's Friday.
[1:08:39] Friday Tournament, Friday K,
[1:08:48] you do like a parade and a parade on Saturday, you know all the vendors and stuff at the park, Friday and Saturday, but as far as like the extra little things,
[1:08:59] they had some nice flyers on these.
[1:09:02] So it's the new stuff, on the shop, all tournaments, for sure.
[1:09:06] Do you bring your own team to the softball tournament first?
[1:09:09] Yeah, you've got to sign up.
[1:09:11] How many teams do you look at?
[1:09:12] You're already never really excited about that.
[1:09:14] Oh, he is.
[1:09:15] I know.
[1:09:16] Don't mess it up.
[1:09:18] I think there's quite a few.
[1:09:20] I don't know the exact number, but it sounds like there's quite a few teams sign up.
[1:09:25] Co-ed and men's.
[1:09:28] Men's will be played Friday night.
[1:09:31] Co-ed will be played Saturday night.
[1:09:33] And then it just goes through the night, both nights.
[1:09:38] The other thing to mention is, things,
[1:09:41] county fair was really hot, but things were like,
[1:09:45] and that's used to Rick's Center and everything that went along.
[1:09:48] But they love you, ran tournaments, it was a good time.
[1:09:53] And right now we have any firefighters there, you know,
[1:10:01] camped out, so.
[1:10:02] I know, I just got the fare out of there, got my office back, and then the fire fighters
[1:10:06] are all here.
[1:10:07] It turns over the whole world.
[1:10:10] It's a big area.
[1:10:11] It's not a big area.
[1:10:12] I know.
[1:10:12] Yeah.
[1:10:12] So yeah.
[1:10:13] I do.
[1:10:13] I do.
[1:10:14] I do, I do, too.
[1:10:15] But the firefighters, they are paying as Tuesdays or yesterday, so that's been helpful.
[1:10:22] Plus, they really have no idea how long they're going to be there.
[1:10:26] And so we have to bring them with them if they're there through other activities that we
[1:10:32] already have on the books and those activities can happen, they'll pass, they'll read
[1:10:37] the verses for all that, but so far they've kind of left you guys alone right for the
[1:10:44] most part. They don't bother us, they just take over and read. They come in quite a bit,
[1:10:50] I mean they've been in there twice a day, they just ask questions but not like anything like
[1:10:55] I'm saying an office child, not pulling you out because you didn't get stuff for him or anything.
[1:11:01] Yeah, no.
[1:11:04] Yeah, that's really all the things I wanted to bring up is how the extra things that our office has been taking care so far.
[1:11:14] And you guys, as far as I can tell, doing a great job, I appreciate everything I'm doing.
[1:11:19] I was able to work with Blair over the weekend at Bear Creek Campground.
[1:11:25] They really have done a lot of their above and beyond stuff and they want to do more.
[1:11:34] I do think we need to pay a little bit more attention to our trees up there and see what
[1:11:41] it's going to take to clean up the trees for that campgrounds.
[1:11:44] We have a lot of dead trees to it.
[1:11:46] There was a quote once they wanted to clean them up themselves, but it was a liability.
[1:11:50] Right.
[1:11:51] So.
[1:11:52] We can't remember what the quote was from the trees.
[1:11:54] It was like eight to ten.
[1:11:56] It was like the last quote we got.
[1:11:59] We were thinking it maybe put it in the budget for this next year.
[1:12:04] Yeah, so it's another item we do need to be considering.
[1:12:08] Down the road is that tree client cleanup up there.
[1:12:11] the the emery East Emory Water District is helping us fix the line they unplugged
[1:12:21] one of the lines up there earlier like three weeks ago and then they're
[1:12:27] going to help us dig that line up and clear the trees that keep plugging it when
[1:12:32] during the offices. That's a root issue with that tree issue right through that
[1:12:38] water running out. So that's another thing project that we'll be working with and Joe's been kind of
[1:12:45] coordinating anything
[1:12:50] else. I think the role department is going to help with that time once they're
[1:12:59] campers, they're in a lot of season.
[1:13:04] Okay, that's all I have on looking for. Unless anyone has anything else
[1:13:17] Okay, thanks for wanting to come to Greenerva.
