[0:10]
Sue's gonna do the chair tonight. She's in person.
[0:12]
That's perfect. Let's roll it.
[0:14]
Sorry, I couldn't hear you Sue.
[0:16]
Oh, that's okay. You're
[0:17]
Gonna have to speak up a little bit,
[0:18]
but we gotta get the mic closer to you.
[0:20]
Where is it? Oh, that's okay. I'll look that way.
[0:24]
Alright, I'd like to call the meeting to to order.
[0:26]
Are there any adjustments to the agenda guys?
[0:32]
Oh, I've got one. Okay.
[0:34]
And I think we can throw it in under Jamie's report.
[0:39]
I just would like to revisit our discussion about,
[0:42]
you had said that Washington
[0:44]
and Orange had come to a full board meeting
[0:46]
that expressed some interest in the SU
[0:49]
and I've got myself very excited about that
[0:52]
and I'd just like to kind of continue that discussion.
[0:55]
Yep. Thank goodness for a second.
[0:58]
I thought it was the stage, so, well that's
[1:01]
Going in the back of my mind.
[1:02]
I had a few of, it might be that too.
[1:05]
I have not forgotten it.
[1:06]
I'm just trying to get EEI to sit down with us again, but,
[1:10]
Okay, perfect.
[1:11]
I added it. Okay.
[1:12]
Prove the minutes of Thursday, November 4th.
[1:19]
Look at those. I'll entertain a motion.
[1:21]
I'll make a motion. We got a second.
[1:25]
All those in favor?
[1:28]
Aye. Aye. Opposed? Go Public comments.
[1:32]
I think we got Karen. We good Karen?
[1:38]
We're good. Okay then celebration
[1:42]
of learning, do we doing that online or what?
[1:46]
Yeah, so we actually have a little update.
[1:48]
Our librarian need a little bit more time.
[1:50]
So Jess is gonna present in January and it worked out fine
[1:54]
because we actually have a mascot to share with you
[1:58]
for review and consideration tonight for Tum Bridge campus.
[2:03]
So I wanna share a little bit of the process
[2:04]
because the process, Chelsea's also going through,
[2:07]
we just are a little bit ahead in the process I think
[2:10]
'cause we have little people
[2:11]
and it, it was a, it's the tiger so it's a little bit,
[2:15]
I think easier to work with right now.
[2:16]
Yeah. So just real quick, we'll go to the next slide.
[2:24]
Just to recap up for learning, handed off the results,
[2:26]
it was sort of like now what we knew
[2:29]
that we were refreshing our traditional mascots
[2:33]
and what we did was did an all call for graphic designers.
[2:36]
We did not find any.
[2:38]
So we did go through the community
[2:40]
and we found a community member recommended Matt,
[2:43]
Matt on Denton.
[2:45]
He's done some work with one planet.
[2:47]
He's done some murals in the area. He's local.
[2:50]
And we interviewed Matt
[2:51]
and we had some children sit with us in that conversation
[2:55]
and they were so excited to get Mr.
[2:56]
Matt back for an art project
[2:57]
that it was really a hands down, like no brainer
[3:00]
to bring Matt to the conversation.
[3:02]
And again, we know their bids or inquiries.
[3:05]
I think it's a complex graphic design
[3:07]
to take on historical logos.
[3:09]
So that's what we found in our
[3:10]
initial understanding of this.
[3:13]
And Matt was really warm and welcoming in the process
[3:16]
and really reassuring that we can do this.
[3:19]
He, so we, we'll go to the next slide.
[3:24]
This little bit about Matt on his webpage,
[3:26]
you can see's really bright colors, clear images
[3:31]
and logos.
[3:32]
Really ideal for, for mascot work.
[3:35]
And this is him working with kids
[3:37]
and actually this is, these are pictures of him working
[3:39]
with one planet when they did the mural at Tum Bridge.
[3:41]
And he's also done the mural here at Chelsea
[3:44]
and he did another project with Jeb Interland last year.
[3:47]
So Matt is really familiar with us
[3:49]
and his website is, it's like color the world
[3:52]
or colors Matt the world.
[3:54]
So you can definitely check him out.
[3:56]
We'll go to the next slide. The process was, Matt met
[4:00]
with students during lunch and recess.
[4:01]
He asked 'em questions such as, you know,
[4:04]
what does it mean to be a tiger?
[4:06]
Who are we? What do you love about school?
[4:07]
And so if you click this image, we have a link
[4:11]
to his full two pages that he was able to get from the kids.
[4:16]
And it goes on for like all the qualities of Tiger.
[4:18]
And some are just like what we saw in the initial
[4:21]
visual logo reveal, like a lot of crazy ideas.
[4:25]
Matt narrowed them down for us
[4:27]
and then presented some ideas.
[4:29]
And you'll see that in the next slide.
[4:32]
Yeah, you see the kids had a lot of ideas
[4:34]
and yep, they keep going.
[4:38]
A lot of conversation around sports.
[4:39]
They wanted to make sure their logo could be on like sports
[4:42]
t-shirts and things like that, which was exciting.
[4:46]
Yeah, all, all the details.
[4:48]
Eating cheese, there's one, right, all the things they said.
[4:52]
So we'll go to the next slide.
[4:57]
We pre, he presented some drafts
[4:59]
and then we sent back some influencing tigers we've been
[5:02]
using and then we provided feedback.
[5:04]
The good news is our staff was really excited
[5:06]
and kids were excited about the TI tigers
[5:08]
that we've been using a lot
[5:10]
of different tigers since the beginning of the school year.
[5:12]
We've embraced all tigers.
[5:13]
So you'll see like Tiger Cubs image, you'll see a lot
[5:17]
of different little rascals, you know,
[5:18]
so we calling them all over the building,
[5:20]
which has been really fun.
[5:22]
And so we went back and forth with the wording.
[5:23]
Sometimes the tigers were scary, sometimes they were,
[5:26]
they weren't what we were looking for.
[5:28]
And Matt was really great about listening to us.
[5:30]
And the next slide, the final step faculty gave feedback
[5:34]
based on the responses classes,
[5:36]
based on the responses classes, using a lot
[5:39]
of different tiger pictures by using all tigers.
[5:41]
Reduce the pressure of just to pick one tiger,
[5:43]
which has been like a really big aha moment for us.
[5:47]
By default you'll see tigers
[5:48]
of all kinds in Tage, which we love.
[5:50]
And here are some of the ones that you'll see
[5:52]
around the buildings, like reading intervention.
[5:54]
I love that. And they're just really fun and hip.
[5:55]
And with AI now you can put something in
[5:58]
and get an image that's really sweet.
[5:59]
We've got tigers with chickens in some places.
[6:01]
It's, it's really fun. Yeah.
[6:03]
And really the moral of the story is pick something cute
[6:05]
and have a lot of fun with it.
[6:07]
And so we also knew that we did want some sort of
[6:11]
overall image for our building.
[6:13]
And if you go to the next slide,
[6:17]
we have drum please a proposal for you.
[6:21]
Next slide. Our tigers,
[6:26]
based on what the kids have shared with us,
[6:27]
our staff has shared with us.
[6:29]
The official one is more for what our like letterhead.
[6:32]
And it's, it's a mixture of a curious tiger
[6:35]
yet not too intimidating.
[6:37]
And then we also have like a sports tiger
[6:41]
as long as they're out there way to go.
[6:42]
So we've got two different ones to use right now
[6:46]
and staff like carefully using them just
[6:49]
to kind test them out.
[6:50]
And we ask for feedback
[6:52]
and sometimes when you don't hear a lot
[6:54]
of chatter it means that it's fine.
[6:57]
And between us having a lot of ability
[7:00]
to use other little tigers in other spaces,
[7:02]
this feels good to us.
[7:04]
And I think we're ready to move on this, on this first kind
[7:07]
of, you know, version one of Tum tigers, if you will,
[7:12]
for the elementary school.
[7:13]
And then that will focus attention over here at Chelsea and,
[7:16]
and use the process
[7:17]
and maybe be a little different with middle
[7:19]
schoolers to refresh. Chelsea's little
[7:22]
Coverage was tigers, weren't they?
[7:24]
Yeah. But I like how they did this whole process
[7:26]
and came back miniature time.
[7:29]
Baby tigers cute. Yeah, it's so cute.
[7:31]
Yeah. Yeah. So we still use the green, we still use,
[7:35]
you know, it what the kids really felt when they were really
[7:37]
excited about the tiger part, right?
[7:38]
Yeah. And we hear a lot about, you know,
[7:41]
it's a great day to be a tiger.
[7:43]
A lot of teachers are using
[7:44]
the language in different ways, right?
[7:45]
It's tiger time, you know, it's time to focus.
[7:48]
So it's, it's taken off
[7:50]
and it feels really good to have something beyond tie dye
[7:53]
to anchor into right now. So, and, and
[7:57]
The process seems long,
[7:59]
but it's also just sliding right in.
[8:02]
I mean, it it's really good. Yeah, I like it.
[8:05]
So these are, this is the tiger proposal for you. Yeah,
[8:09]
No.
[8:10]
At some point Kathy, does this go back to
[8:12]
where there'll be a motion one time? I think
[8:14]
That's, yeah, Do, do we need
[8:16]
to do a motion on this, Jamie?
[8:18]
I mean you didn't actually change the
[8:20]
mascot, the mascot's the same.
[8:21]
You just changed what it, I mean, I think looks like, so
[8:24]
Yeah, so I think, Think, don't
[8:26]
Think it would be worthwhile for us to say we weren
[8:31]
and approve these though because Okay.
[8:34]
We can, I mean we can warn it for action
[8:35]
to approve the logos is what I can say it is.
[8:39]
And I, my only thought behind
[8:41]
that is if something came back that we didn't,
[8:43]
that the board wasn't comfortable with, we'd want
[8:46]
to take action in the other direction.
[8:48]
But I, I think these are great.
[8:50]
Oh, I do too. I love the face of the guy on the left.
[8:53]
Yeah. So we can just put it on that next meeting
[8:56]
to final to finalize the logo.
[8:59]
I I think in the meantime, Janet,
[9:00]
if you're biting at the bit,
[9:02]
if the board doesn't object, go ahead
[9:04]
and roll with it. I think,
[9:06]
Yeah, I say roll with it.
[9:08]
I mean here's the thing. We, we kind of, so I, I like
[9:10]
to think 10 miles down the road, we did do a student
[9:13]
and staff shirt year with the tiger paw
[9:16]
because we needed it for the tage fair.
[9:18]
So we would like to use this on sort
[9:20]
of our letterhead and so forth.
[9:21]
But I also wanted to make sure I gave people a lot
[9:24]
of runway to discuss this.
[9:26]
So we are not pressing to do anything right now.
[9:29]
But we are happy to use it if you're okay with it.
[9:32]
We're okay. I'm a hundred percent, hundred percent.
[9:35]
I love it. Okay, great.
[9:36]
I'm a hundred percent also
[9:38]
and I would say don't hold back from using it.
[9:40]
We've been waiting this long, let's get it done.
[9:43]
We certainly are gonna come back next
[9:45]
month and be like, we hate it.
[9:46]
Yeah. And Jackie was, Jackie was a quiet thumbs up.
[9:50]
It would be a longer term introduction Yeah.
[9:52]
For other people. And our hope is by using that
[9:56]
and I have to say the work he did
[9:58]
behind the scenes was very minimal in cost.
[10:00]
It was such a good deal. Yeah.
[10:02]
That if we have nice process,
[10:03]
the middle scrollers can adjust their process.
[10:06]
And I think that's one
[10:07]
that's gonna take a little bit more time.
[10:10]
Perfect. Thank
[10:12]
You.
[10:13]
Awesome. Great job
[10:14]
Reports going to number six reports to the board, Jamie,
[10:18]
and we'll include the Washington Orange update.
[10:22]
Yep. I can include that in my report.
[10:24]
So I sent a letter out earlier today to the community to try
[10:28]
to, to provide some more context around Act 73
[10:31]
and the December one tax letter.
[10:35]
And some folks were requesting that as they planned
[10:38]
to attend the December 17th meeting, to be able to highlight
[10:42]
some successes that we've had in the SU
[10:45]
both academically but fiscally.
[10:49]
I also provided you
[10:51]
as board members just some different links to some articles.
[10:54]
But also there was a joint session last Wednesday
[10:58]
that brought together the legislature
[11:01]
to receive some reports from different cabinet
[11:06]
positions and it's, it's just worth reviewing in regards
[11:10]
to giving some context to the December 1st tax letter.
[11:16]
And then I also just wanted to remind you again,
[11:19]
so I put in my reports the minimum class sizes
[11:22]
that we're working toward getting to as
[11:25]
provided within ACT 73.
[11:29]
And your building based leadership teams are working
[11:32]
to take steps forward to comply
[11:34]
with those minimum class size numbers.
[11:37]
I've met with Principal Rivers where the middle school had
[11:42]
some work to do it, it,
[11:43]
we've run the class size minimum averages and,
[11:46]
and it's not, it's not too heavy of a lift,
[11:49]
but they're gonna need to do some reconfiguring
[11:51]
with their schedule to get into compliance.
[11:55]
But Dan has a good, good idea with the staff around
[11:57]
how they're gonna work to achieve that.
[12:00]
And then I also just wanted to highlight
[12:02]
before I turn to Echo Valley
[12:04]
and take any questions is that I will be in Chelsea
[12:07]
with the principals on Monday
[12:10]
for the Chelsea community Senior meals
[12:14]
at the senior meal in Chelsea to visit
[12:17]
with community and folks.
[12:19]
And then my plan is to be at the TUM rec meal
[12:22]
both in January
[12:24]
and February leading up to budget conversations
[12:30]
In regards to Echo Valley, they did join the SU board.
[12:34]
They indicated that they're interested in remaining within a
[12:38]
supervisory union unit.
[12:41]
I think it was a positive meeting with the SU board.
[12:44]
I mean, they're not interested in any type
[12:45]
of like consolidation among districts at this point.
[12:48]
They wanna remain their own district is what I heard.
[12:51]
But they're certainly interested in the idea possibly
[12:54]
partnering within an SU umbrella.
[12:58]
And so we encourage them to reach out
[13:02]
and convey that on the record with the task force of which
[13:07]
I'm not certain whether they did or not.
[13:09]
Alan, I do have a meeting with some
[13:12]
of my colleagues on Friday
[13:14]
and I will add that down to connect
[13:15]
with their superintendent
[13:16]
to find out whether they actually officially
[13:19]
submitted any type of document to the task force
[13:22]
of their desire to remain in an SU structure.
[13:27]
I know the other district in their SU indicated they would
[13:30]
prefer to go to the north
[13:32]
where it seemed like Echo Valley was much more interested in
[13:34]
possibly staying to the south
[13:36]
with a an su structure down our,
[13:41]
If if by some chance
[13:44]
this consolidation thing falls apart in the legislature.
[13:47]
Do you think they have any interest in joining RSU if there
[13:50]
wasn't any kind of forced thing going on?
[13:54]
I thought the conversation was really positive.
[13:56]
I I did not get a sense whether they were in a position
[14:00]
and Kathy was there.
[14:03]
I can't remember. Was any
[14:04]
of the first branch board members there for
[14:06]
that SU meeting or not?
[14:08]
I don't think so. I didn't get the sense that they were
[14:13]
in a position to unilaterally pull out of their current su
[14:16]
to join ours, but that they were interested in willing
[14:21]
to talk about further collaboration possibly
[14:23]
as a larger organization.
[14:26]
That's the sense I got.
[14:27]
Right. And I, I think right now
[14:29]
with the maps falling apart, everybody's kind
[14:34]
of scrambling and figuring out what's gonna happen next.
[14:39]
So I think we'll probably,
[14:40]
I'm guessing we're gonna hear from them
[14:43]
again in the near future, but that's, that's my hopeful hat.
[14:48]
Well I mean I think we should do everything we can
[14:51]
to welcome them if they're have any interest in
[14:55]
any kind of collaboration.
[14:57]
Yeah, I think the full board did a pretty good job
[14:59]
of that at our meeting.
[15:00]
We, we, everybody was pretty interested in welcoming them.
[15:05]
I mean, I mean maybe, maybe we could invite them to one
[15:10]
of our board meetings just to see
[15:11]
how their closest neighbor operates and, and
[15:15]
That could be a really good first next
[15:16]
step. Kathy actually
[15:18]
Yeah.
[15:19]
Could reach out and invite them to come sit
[15:21]
with us for a meeting.
[15:26]
Which I can do that if you would like, Alan.
[15:29]
I mean I don't, I don't see any harm in it. Right?
[15:31]
Is there No, there's no downside or
[15:33]
Nope.
[15:34]
I I don't see any downsides to it at all. Me
[15:37]
Either.
[15:38]
I just keep thinking back
[15:39]
to when the first year thing happened 25 years ago
[15:42]
and we didn't pursue Right.
[15:45]
That when we should have
[15:47]
and could very well be part of our district instead of
[15:53]
Riverdale right now if we really pursued that.
[15:57]
I think you Yeah,
[15:58]
I just wanna make sure we don't miss the boat on something
[16:00]
that could be positive for us.
[16:02]
Yeah, no, I'll, I'll reach out
[16:05]
and see if they wanna come to a meeting.
[16:08]
Yep. I I think that that in some ways would be,
[16:12]
it just would be, I think you,
[16:14]
you have everything in common.
[16:15]
You meaning I just think it could be a real comforting
[16:19]
meeting between the two of you.
[16:22]
I mean their configuration is essentially the
[16:25]
same as first branch.
[16:26]
They have an elementary school that's unified
[16:28]
and a middle school that's unified.
[16:30]
So I think they may see that there's a lot
[16:32]
in common right down the road.
[16:34]
Yeah. If nothing else, we can share ideas about
[16:37]
how we're making things work.
[16:40]
So I think that's a good, good step.
[16:44]
Yeah. Jamie
[16:48]
Did everybody, oh, go ahead.
[16:50]
The letter you sent out today, there's a phrase in here
[16:54]
that I may need some help responding
[16:57]
to in the community once the letter goes out, it says,
[17:00]
as an example, the residential tax rates in Grand Granville,
[17:04]
Hancock, Walton, Sharon,
[17:06]
and Stratford all decreased in FY 26.
[17:11]
And then you give an example another one that list
[17:15]
100 or percent increase
[17:19]
0.01 increase.
[17:22]
When our people read that, how does it, how,
[17:24]
how should we respond to the fact that we didn't do
[17:27]
that when other district,
[17:30]
Well we, I will run the, have Tara run the data
[17:33]
and get it to you in regards to your five year average.
[17:36]
You'll come out underneath that 40% mark
[17:39]
and I think you can respond that way.
[17:47]
Meaning like your taxes haven't gone up 40% over the last
[17:50]
five years, your residential tax rate.
[17:55]
I just can't tell you what that percentage
[17:56]
is until we run the numbers.
[18:01]
Wonderful. Anybody else got anything for Jamie?
[18:04]
If not, let's go on to the
[18:06]
Principal's report.
[18:07]
I wish I could have said your tax rate went down.
[18:10]
I almost didn't do that
[18:11]
but I just, I was trying to grab different examples
[18:14]
but we're working hard on your budget this year to try
[18:17]
to get it as best we can.
[18:18]
Right. Jamie, did you wanna talk about the meeting in
[18:21]
South Royalton that this,
[18:24]
Well that's on for discussion item I think 7.1. Good.
[18:28]
Yeah. Okay, cool. Yep. All right.
[18:31]
I just wanna make sure we talk about
[18:33]
It.
[18:34]
Yep.
[18:35]
Back onto the principles.
[18:37]
Okay, so you have a report. Let's see some highlights.
[18:43]
We had some professional development happening at Ambridge
[18:46]
campus the 31st and Halloween.
[18:49]
And it was really great. We had staff presenting an
[18:51]
EBL L to other teachers.
[18:52]
That was the program action based learning
[18:54]
that the board heard about.
[18:56]
And then we had some sponsorship come in
[18:58]
and our kindergarten teachers
[18:59]
and PE teacher were able to turnkey to take
[19:03]
that action based learning further into classrooms with how
[19:07]
to adjust for different learners and needs.
[19:09]
So it's not just about the physical activity,
[19:11]
it's also about the connection in the classroom.
[19:15]
And the staff went through some
[19:16]
of the action based learning stations.
[19:18]
It was really nice for other staff that didn't get
[19:20]
to experience that with kids to experience it
[19:23]
and incorporate some new ideas for keeping kids on track.
[19:26]
Especially with our new EL curriculum that's come in.
[19:28]
Sometimes those, those blocks are long
[19:31]
and they need a little brain break
[19:33]
and making really meaningful connections
[19:35]
with the action-based learning team.
[19:36]
So that was great. We also had some ALMA training to work
[19:41]
with our new report card system moving along
[19:45]
also at TUM Bridge.
[19:47]
We had a very successful book fair when
[19:49]
Jess is here in January.
[19:51]
I know she will speak to TUM Bridge's book fair
[19:53]
and I know our library in here.
[19:54]
Chelsea will speak to the book Fair it.
[19:57]
The book fair is very big at first branch.
[19:59]
It is definitely a community event.
[20:00]
People come out, they get excited about it
[20:02]
and it, it does bring in money for our librarians
[20:05]
to buy other materials.
[20:07]
Jess has been really great about securing these playaways.
[20:10]
They are audio books without a screen
[20:13]
and that's been a huge hit in the library
[20:15]
and I think she's got some big ideas
[20:17]
around adding more to those collections.
[20:21]
In terms of other exciting events going on, we have
[20:26]
a new site coordinator, Graham Leathers for one Planet.
[20:28]
That was a position that was open.
[20:30]
Haley Knight worked very hard to secure staff member
[20:34]
and Graham has come in, the kids enjoy him.
[20:37]
He has them outside as long as they can
[20:39]
before it gets dark this time of year,
[20:41]
which feels like it's happens really quickly.
[20:44]
And there's other programs going on too this this month
[20:48]
where we've got our craft afternoon coming up on Friday
[20:51]
where kids get their books and mugs and art projects
[20:54]
and they wrap gifts
[20:55]
for all different holidays for family members.
[20:58]
Basketball's underway, our concerts this week.
[21:02]
So we are moving and grouping across the district is anyone
[21:05]
have to talk about Chelsea?
[21:08]
I can speak to our professional development.
[21:11]
So Janet was working with
[21:15]
action based learning type stuff
[21:16]
and we were doing all the prep
[21:18]
and so all almost a new student innovation system
[21:20]
that taken on this year.
[21:22]
And so we did a lot of prep work in terms
[21:24]
of getting our grades in.
[21:25]
And we have report cards that were out on Friday last week.
[21:28]
And this system is unified across the SU now.
[21:32]
Previously we were kind of doing our own thing over here in
[21:34]
Chelsea there came report cards
[21:36]
and the system was really streamlined.
[21:37]
So I just wanna thank tech folks Parker Odds in particular
[21:40]
helping our staff figure out this new system
[21:43]
for reporting out grades and everything.
[21:46]
I also wanna highlight life in the middle.
[21:48]
We have this newsletter that goes out weekly
[21:51]
and that's something that our, our teacher puts together.
[21:55]
So she goes around to each individual classroom
[21:57]
and checks in about what were you guys
[21:59]
working on this past week?
[22:01]
That's just been a really great way to showcase the,
[22:03]
what our teachers are doing
[22:04]
and students are doing in the classroom.
[22:06]
It just creates more transparency,
[22:08]
which I really appreciate in the community of, hey,
[22:11]
this past week we've worked on this
[22:12]
and this next week we're looking forward to this.
[22:15]
I think that's just a great way to be sharing
[22:16]
out some good work.
[22:18]
We're doing other pieces.
[22:21]
From November, we had a fundraiser for the Jamaican
[22:26]
recovery efforts down there,
[22:27]
that big hurricane come through.
[22:28]
So Erica Baxter put together our new science teacher,
[22:31]
she put together a movie night.
[22:33]
So they watched Shrek over in the gym
[22:35]
and they got to sell different things.
[22:37]
Did a bake sale there and they raised over $650 for Jamaica.
[22:41]
So it was really cool to see this kind of grassroots effort
[22:45]
of different sixth grad are putting up signs across the
[22:48]
building saying Hey, help raise money for Jamaica, come
[22:52]
to the movie nights.
[22:53]
And yeah, that was a big hit.
[22:55]
I was really grateful for that efforts.
[22:58]
Yeah, as Jan said, we got basketball going on,
[23:00]
we had open gym.
[23:02]
I always appreciate activities
[23:04]
for our students do after school.
[23:06]
'cause sometimes in this area we really could use that.
[23:09]
And so a couple of parent volunteers ran that
[23:11]
for us on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
[23:14]
Mr. Groat, Mr. Weed, two eighth grade parents.
[23:18]
And that was great to have kids from middle school really go
[23:21]
over there and tubes for a couple hours.
[23:23]
And basketball season's now officially begun.
[23:25]
So kids are in practice now.
[23:28]
That kind of wraps up all the I my big college,
[23:30]
but open to questions or, yep.
[23:32]
I got a question. So I went to the, I don't know
[23:35]
who signs out the gym to organizations.
[23:38]
I went to the Christmas Bizarre. Oh yeah.
[23:40]
Which was everybody from the streets with their dirty shoes
[23:43]
and the covering was
[23:44]
Not on the floor again.
[23:45]
Oh, okay. And so I don't know.
[23:48]
That was a request from last year. We did.
[23:51]
And so here's the first thing that was just tons of people
[23:53]
with their boots and dirt
[23:54]
and su Yeah, just walking on the gym floor again.
[23:58]
Yeah, we talked about that last year.
[24:00]
That was feedback gave where I had custodian.
[24:02]
I think it's, it's important who signs out the gym That's,
[24:05]
that's who should be, maybe that's one of the criteria
[24:09]
to do it because it took a beating.
[24:11]
It had to have taken a beating that day.
[24:13]
Yeah, there was opening and closing. Yeah,
[24:19]
There was.
[24:20]
So I didn't see this.
[24:24]
I did. It does feel pretty long ago.
[24:27]
This report, I do just wanna honor Mr.
[24:29]
Tim is our custodian over at TUM Bridge. He's a a veteran.
[24:33]
So the kids did do a little clap out for him and cards.
[24:36]
He looks forward to it every year.
[24:37]
And our kids and staff really do.
[24:40]
It's just a really nice way of honoring him.
[24:43]
And we also had a district,
[24:46]
well tum hosted it,
[24:48]
but we had a swap this fall for people to come in
[24:51]
and swap clothing that no longer fits.
[24:53]
And it was a really nice, just impromptu opportunity
[24:57]
and it was nice for us to connect with folks
[24:59]
and also help with sizing.
[25:01]
And kids didn't see it as like something like,
[25:03]
oh I'm getting swap clothing.
[25:05]
They really looked forward to getting
[25:06]
a few new things for free.
[25:08]
Anything left over went to the listen thrift store
[25:10]
over in West London.
[25:11]
So it was a really nice event of people unloading, people,
[25:15]
swapping and then sending it on to folks
[25:17]
that could use some the great materials that were left.
[25:23]
Perfect. Now Business center is,
[25:26]
is she here today? Tara? Tara
[25:27]
Is, yeah.
[25:28]
She might be another meeting. Jamie,
[25:30]
do you have a sense of Tara right now?
[25:32]
Yeah, she's with Stratford
[25:33]
and then I gotta go back there for, she's there,
[25:36]
she's in your building but she's there virtually.
[25:41]
So maybe we would just push her report off and then her
[25:45]
and I are gonna flip at some point again.
[25:47]
Did you wanna go down to 7.1 Act 73 updates?
[25:52]
Well we got the policy committee.
[25:54]
Oh, okay. So we have two policies.
[25:59]
One is a KA interest supervisory union transfer
[26:02]
that would allow for transfers to happen
[26:08]
at the supervisory union prior to the high school level
[26:13]
K eight based on what a district operates that would
[26:18]
keep average daily membership with the home district.
[26:23]
But allow a family to have a process to request a transfer
[26:27]
if the fit within their current school's not working.
[26:30]
And that that would be ca at five total annually,
[26:34]
meaning there would never be more than five out
[26:37]
or five into a school.
[26:39]
It's modeled off of the
[26:42]
statewide school choice public school choice
[26:44]
that occurs at the nine through 12 levels.
[26:48]
There's sometimes where a fit is just not good within a
[26:53]
district and this would allow for a family to make a request
[26:57]
to go to another school.
[26:59]
That student could then go to that school.
[27:01]
Transportation would be on them.
[27:04]
But it would allow for the average daily membership to stay
[27:07]
with the home district with the ID being
[27:11]
that the receiving school wouldn't cost more to, to educate.
[27:13]
And some folks who have said, well what happens if they're
[27:15]
on an IEP or if they're on a 5 0 4, if they're on a 5 0 4
[27:20]
as the LEA, they would still be responsible,
[27:22]
the home district to provide any type of services
[27:26]
that are needed via the 5 0 4.
[27:28]
Same thing we do right now with any student that you have.
[27:31]
Grades nine through 12 as an example.
[27:34]
And also just a reminder that special ed services are
[27:38]
provided at the SU level.
[27:39]
So the service would come,
[27:40]
but it wouldn't change your assessment at all either way
[27:44]
because it's assessed out, it's not a direct go back.
[27:52]
And Now the po,
[27:53]
the policy committee Committee spent a lot
[27:55]
of time on this making sure there were guardrails so
[27:58]
that we wouldn't, there wouldn't be a lot of kids moving
[28:01]
around at one time or we wouldn't be depleting classrooms
[28:03]
or making classrooms too big.
[28:06]
The superintendent is gonna be keep track of all that
[28:10]
and he has, they have the ability to say no if it, you know,
[28:13]
there's a certain, there's good limits
[28:16]
and stuff that we made sure were in there.
[28:19]
And I think this will help a lot
[28:21]
of families or some families.
[28:27]
One question as far as, I'm just thinking through,
[28:31]
we're starting to,
[28:33]
sounds like work really hard on meeting minimum classroom
[28:37]
sizes in our building for to stay happy.
[28:42]
Would we be allowed to let that have any factor,
[28:47]
like if we were gonna end up with class
[28:50]
and no longer that minimum class sizes
[28:52]
by letting say two students from the
[28:54]
same class leave the building?
[28:56]
Yeah, that is captured in paragraph two, Alan.
[28:59]
That's why we worded it that way to exactly make certain
[29:02]
that we could take that into account.
[29:06]
Super. So when does this come for
[29:10]
Reading or Approval?
[29:11]
What's the next step? Well, this, this is reading too,
[29:14]
so we're kind of waiting to see if there's any feedback
[29:17]
that needs to go back to committee sue.
[29:19]
If boards are, seem to be supportive, which is thus far.
[29:22]
They have been. It could be worn for approval
[29:25]
as early as next month.
[29:30]
Okay. Would it take effect
[29:33]
for the next school year? Correct.
[29:35]
Yep. We would start that process
[29:38]
of getting information out in February around that timeline,
[29:43]
you know, the timeline that's provided via the policy.
[29:48]
Do you see this becoming a workload for you if people walk
[29:53]
to it and you have 20 applicants from a school
[29:55]
Or No, I appreciate that question.
[29:57]
I mean my sense is just based off when we've had requests
[30:02]
already that it, it's not gonna be
[30:06]
an an an abundance of request.
[30:09]
I'm not gathering that and I,
[30:10]
I think we're gonna be surprised that some, you know,
[30:12]
I think there's a sense that requests will
[30:14]
go one direction, not others.
[30:16]
You know, example, I had a request recently from one
[30:20]
of our larger elementary schools to go
[30:23]
to the Stockbridge Elementary School
[30:26]
and I think there's a lot of worry
[30:27]
of like the smaller schools are gonna
[30:30]
want to go to the larger schools.
[30:31]
But I had a request based on a family situation to want
[30:34]
to go toward one of our smaller ones.
[30:38]
So my hope is not, I mean if it does Alan, then I think
[30:41]
that's where I would come back to the policy committee
[30:44]
and say we need to make some tweaks to it.
[30:47]
Okay.
[30:53]
And the other policy, this is required by statute.
[30:57]
We have behavioral threat assessment teams in place now
[31:00]
because statute required them to be in place
[31:03]
for this coming school year.
[31:05]
And the a OE provided a model policy
[31:08]
that we worked with from this.
[31:10]
So this policy that you have in front of you, C 36
[31:14]
has been tweaked a little bit in
[31:15]
regards to the policy committee.
[31:16]
Did some wordsmithing
[31:18]
and maybe cleaning up some grammatical things.
[31:21]
But the intent of the policy has been
[31:25]
provided to us from actually the agency of ed
[31:28]
as as a model to use.
[31:39]
So If you guys read through these
[31:41]
and have any questions or concerns, please just email Kathy
[31:45]
and I and Bill
[31:47]
and we'll address 'em at the policy committee.
[31:52]
Perfect. Let's jump back down to 7.1 again.
[31:56]
The ACT 73 update.
[32:01]
So we're gonna be hosting Senate ed on December 17th
[32:07]
for a day long visit.
[32:08]
And we have a student from First Branch, just
[32:13]
so you know, that does attend Efford Academy joining us.
[32:17]
I wanted to make certain, we had students from across the SU
[32:20]
joining our student panel that chose
[32:27]
like our high school as an example.
[32:29]
There's actually a TUM student on the high school committee.
[32:31]
The panel's only gonna have seven students,
[32:33]
but there is a student from First Branch
[32:35]
that has chosen White River Valley
[32:37]
that's gonna represent the SU on the committee.
[32:40]
And there's a student from First Branch
[32:41]
that chose Stepford Academy
[32:43]
that's gonna be on our student panel.
[32:44]
And I think that's important for Senate ed to get a sense
[32:47]
of why choice is important for our communities,
[32:51]
given the fact that we closed four high schools
[32:54]
within the SU already.
[32:56]
And I think folks lose sight of that, that
[33:01]
they're, we have several school choice districts,
[33:05]
but they weren't necessarily school choice districts
[33:07]
until we did a lot of work already under Act 46
[33:12]
to close our high schools.
[33:13]
And that did re result in some additional choice.
[33:16]
But that why students choose the high schools they do
[33:20]
is typically personal.
[33:22]
And it's, it's, there's just notions that
[33:26]
that choice just results in kids going all over the place.
[33:29]
When really if you would look at your tuition, you know,
[33:31]
we have districts that tend
[33:34]
to go in certain areas based on travel patterns
[33:37]
and just historically where kids go.
[33:39]
So we're gonna try to convey that on December 17th
[33:42]
there's going to be a teacher panel
[33:45]
which you have a representative of as well.
[33:48]
We have a principal panel, panel in the SU
[33:51]
and then there's gonna be public comment from
[33:53]
two 30 to four 30.
[33:55]
And if, and the time's not great,
[33:57]
but that is just when the senate's been doing 'em on,
[34:00]
on every visit and they wanted to keep it consistent.
[34:04]
And what I would say is, is that if people can attend that,
[34:08]
they're also taken written comment, which I
[34:11]
provided in my letter, how to do that today.
[34:14]
And if, if board members can just encourage folks
[34:19]
to reach out to Senate ed and
[34:22]
or join us on the 17th and
[34:25]
or even if that time doesn't work for 'em, start
[34:27]
to write their local elected
[34:29]
officials, that would be great.
[34:32]
And so what you have right now is a rep,
[34:35]
two representatives, representative
[34:39]
O'Brien, and then I can't
[34:45]
remember how to pronounce Joshua's last name.
[34:48]
Debra de dvi. Thank you. Dvi. Yes.
[34:53]
And but you don't have currently in Chelsea
[34:57]
in Tum Bridge a senator yet we await the appointment
[35:00]
of a senator, which should be forthcoming.
[35:05]
You know, prior to the session the governor has been
[35:07]
starting to appoint folks.
[35:09]
What the last I heard is
[35:10]
that he was waiting on Orange County Republicans
[35:13]
to provide him three names for possible appointment
[35:20]
where we are with Act 73.
[35:21]
Just to remind the board task force
[35:25]
provided essentially a map that is status quo in regards
[35:29]
to SUS and sds,
[35:32]
but encouraged a five regional map
[35:37]
that is much like
[35:38]
what the governor produced in regards to sds.
[35:40]
But with the idea being that those would be
[35:43]
around centralizing services, like
[35:46]
providing more specialized programming
[35:48]
for special ed regionally, possibly looking to go to,
[35:53]
you know, transportation contracts
[35:56]
or to find savings, contracting,
[35:59]
professional development regionally
[36:02]
to find savings, things like that.
[36:05]
But that the local boards
[36:06]
and governance would still remain local.
[36:09]
And it's more about sharing ideas
[36:12]
and thinking about how could we become more efficient
[36:15]
around doing more regional partnerships.
[36:18]
And you know, I, I bring up special ed a lot
[36:20]
'cause I think that is an area in the state
[36:21]
where if you look at costs year over year as a state,
[36:25]
they're incredibly high.
[36:27]
And we ought to be thinking about
[36:29]
how we're gonna build better programming for kids
[36:33]
and not rely always on independent
[36:37]
or added dish replacements.
[36:38]
I mean, you know, we built programming in watermen at the SU
[36:42]
office this year to try to better do that as an su
[36:44]
but I think about if we were to do
[36:46]
that work across multiple SUS
[36:47]
and sts, how much more efficient we could be even
[36:51]
and how much better it would be for our kids.
[36:54]
And so that is what that report highlighted.
[36:58]
The governor is gonna introduce
[37:01]
my sense a five district map.
[37:03]
Again, you know, I don't have a good sense of
[37:07]
how serious democratic leadership is, both at the House
[37:12]
and Senate around really wanting
[37:15]
to fulfill the drawing of maps.
[37:17]
But they certainly have said publicly
[37:19]
that that's their desire.
[37:21]
There's one thing to say it publicly.
[37:23]
There's another thing whether it's gonna be carried forward
[37:25]
through the whole session or not.
[37:28]
My biggest fear is, is that there is a,
[37:34]
the Vs.
[37:36]
Meaning the V-S-A-V-P-A-V-S-B-A coalesce
[37:39]
around these two to 4,000 student sds.
[37:44]
Like what the house originally passed to the Senate
[37:47]
and that the house tries to work with a branch
[37:52]
of Senate Democrats to then coalesce behind
[37:56]
that original house bill
[37:57]
that we had a lot of concerns about.
[38:01]
That's the worst case scenario I see for us
[38:03]
because let's say if we're put into 4,000 student sd,
[38:07]
that's one district board from exit two up to exit five.
[38:11]
'cause we ran the numbers by R-S-U-O-S-S-D
[38:15]
and CVSU and you're still just under 4,000 students
[38:19]
and that would be only one board to make decision making.
[38:23]
And that's when I get worried about that board starts
[38:26]
to make some decisions around unilaterally closing schools.
[38:31]
'cause a reminder if those new boards take effect,
[38:35]
the articles of agreement are no longer in place
[38:39]
for any of our districts.
[38:42]
Meaning there's no vote towns
[38:44]
to close schools, things of that nature.
[38:46]
Right. So everybody come on the 17th.
[38:49]
It's a good time to get your voice heard
[38:55]
and they need to hear from us as much as possible.
[38:59]
Kate, turn around when this all would start.
[39:07]
What was the question, Alan? I'm sorry.
[39:11]
Turn around what school year that sort of start
[39:14]
to affect students if it has?
[39:16]
Yep. So if the maps are approved this year,
[39:21]
the, the new boards actually start electing in the fall,
[39:25]
next fall, the fall of 26 in November.
[39:29]
And so they'll get elected
[39:31]
and then, you know, their work will be
[39:34]
to hire a new superintendent the spring of 27.
[39:39]
And then that new superintendent will work with them
[39:42]
to create new budgets over that upcoming year
[39:44]
and hire like their staff and things.
[39:47]
So that new district takes over in July one
[39:52]
of 28.
[39:54]
And we would be handing things off in July one of 28.
[40:01]
So two more years we would remain in in
[40:03]
place after this year.
[40:07]
They do away with school choice.
[40:09]
That is also the date that the school choice would end.
[40:14]
Yeah, I mean that's, that's what the law would say. Yep.
[40:19]
Whether or not those districts will allow
[40:21]
to grandfather kids in
[40:22]
or things that's actually not specified in the law.
[40:33]
You know, and I was just with the high school staff today
[40:35]
talking about why personally this is so important to me is
[40:40]
that is when kids get lost,
[40:44]
those districts ceases to exist.
[40:46]
The new district comes on, they don't know the kids
[40:48]
and kids no longer are individuals.
[40:52]
They start to become numbers
[40:53]
and they just fall through the cracks and get lost.
[40:55]
And that, that is a major worry for me.
[41:05]
Okay. Do we wanna move on?
[41:07]
Back to Tara, are you done with this? Jamie,
[41:10]
If you guys don't have any questions, I am, I need
[41:12]
to go do a couple executive sessions in Stratford.
[41:16]
I don't know how long those will take.
[41:18]
I may be back or may not.
[41:19]
But Tara is totally prepped even with your executive session
[41:23]
with the data that you requested prior about PD funds
[41:26]
and the event that I'm not back.
[41:28]
Does anyone have any questions
[41:30]
for me If in case I don't get back?
[41:37]
Thank you Jamie. All right guys.
[41:39]
If I don't see you, take care
[41:41]
and I'll be up at four 30 to check the weather.
[41:44]
'cause I guess we're gonna get some snow in.
[41:46]
Yeah, it seems like they're gonna be all day events.
[41:48]
Like they start in the morning and go, this
[41:50]
Is the worst.
[41:52]
I don't even like it.
[41:55]
Yeah, because if you, if you go
[41:56]
then you're stuck driving home in
[41:58]
It.
[41:59]
It's like a, you know, look into your magic eight ball.
[42:07]
The good news is, and then I'll go that one of the things,
[42:10]
you know, with different cuts
[42:12]
and stuff, the National Weather Service does do a really
[42:15]
nice call now with superintendents at four 30
[42:17]
where we can ask specific questions and things.
[42:19]
It's really nice. They give us too meteorologists.
[42:22]
They show us predicted maps.
[42:23]
It's, it's, so I do feel like I'm working off as best data
[42:27]
as I can, but it's the weather, right?
[42:30]
Yeah. All right, see you guys.
[42:33]
See you later.
[42:37]
Jump back up to the top Tara
[42:39]
before the audit and the budget.
[42:42]
We're all the same time. Do whatever you want.
[42:45]
All the same time. Okay.
[42:46]
So we have my report
[42:47]
and outlines what we're doing in
[42:49]
the business office during the
[42:50]
Month of December in addition to building budgets for all
[42:53]
of our districts in supervisory union.
[42:56]
And then wrapping up all of our fiscal year 25 audits,
[43:00]
if there's any questions there.
[43:05]
So did you go over any
[43:07]
of the budget at all or did you skip it?
[43:09]
[43:16]
So in this draft, the changes that I currently have
[43:20]
as placeholders, as you can see in my notes on the side,
[43:23]
we don't get announced tuition rates until January 15th.
[43:27]
So I'm using a 6% placeholder as the increase
[43:31]
for secondary tuition
[43:33]
and using your enrollment as of who we had accounted for
[43:36]
on November 25th.
[43:38]
And so overall, right now that's a projected increase
[43:42]
of 161,000 just in the secondary tuition line.
[43:47]
I have the FY 27 preschool tuition rate.
[43:51]
So that is the actual number based on
[43:54]
what the tuition rate is going to be
[43:56]
and what the pre-K enrollment projections are based on the
[44:01]
first statistics that our preschool coordinator gets for us.
[44:06]
The other assumption right now in this budget draft
[44:10]
is the assessment for both the central office divisions
[44:14]
as well as the special education.
[44:16]
This is based on the budget that was presented
[44:19]
to the full se board last month.
[44:23]
And then that will be adjusted based on
[44:25]
what the final actual budgets are
[44:27]
and what the final assessments are.
[44:28]
We're still missing several key
[44:30]
Points To
[44:31]
Have in order to even make as far as the assessment
[44:35]
and calculations are concerned.
[44:38]
And then other than that,
[44:46]
The other line items that I do an adjustment on
[44:51]
are basically your utilities.
[44:53]
And what I know, based on what we've spent
[44:56]
and vendors that have notified us
[44:58]
of any rate increases at this point in time,
[45:01]
I use those numbers in my adjustments as far
[45:03]
as your operations and utility budget.
[45:05]
We made some adjustments to the nursing supply lines
[45:09]
after some feedback from nurses throughout the entire
[45:12]
supervisory union that their cost of their supplies
[45:15]
and their needs in their nurses' offices have gone up.
[45:18]
So we have made an adjustment in those individual
[45:22]
supply lines as well.
[45:38]
With all that said, right now we're looking at a potential
[45:43]
increase of $517,556,
[45:48]
which equates to a 5.66% increase on the
[45:52]
expenditure side of things.
[45:53]
Again, this doesn't take into account any work
[45:55]
that we do on the revenue side
[45:57]
or any work that we do on the tax sheet,
[45:59]
which could potentially
[46:00]
and a 9 cents increase using the FY 26
[46:05]
because again, I don't have the numbers that I need
[46:08]
27 at this point.
[46:17]
It's not horrible That the Blue Cross
[46:21]
Blue Shield definitely help you.
[46:23]
Yes.
[46:25]
Yeah, I think that's also part of the narrative
[46:29]
that when we're listening to all the articles,
[46:32]
this is a place where schools can make a lot of choices.
[46:35]
And I think this board has done a nice
[46:37]
job in supporting needs.
[46:38]
We've had, we've built these kind
[46:40]
of insurance policies along the way with student support,
[46:44]
math intervention, reading intervention, so that when we get
[46:47]
to a year like this Yep.
[46:49]
We've had these in place.
[46:50]
So I just, I wanna say thank you for that because Right.
[46:53]
We're not adding 'em this year. Yeah, we did it in the past.
[46:56]
Yeah. Right. And it's working preschool,
[46:58]
like we've done the hard ones of like, can, can this work?
[47:03]
And now we're sitting here and we've got Visa place
[47:05]
and the VCAP score scores were looking better last,
[47:10]
like we're making the right steps.
[47:12]
In fact, my progress is happening now
[47:13]
to review data for kids.
[47:15]
So I, I feel grateful
[47:17]
because you're gonna look, see 'em around the state.
[47:19]
People are gonna propose these numbers.
[47:21]
That's exactly what the governor's talking about is
[47:23]
the unchecked spending.
[47:25]
And I think Tara's done a nice job reminding
[47:28]
us as principal sometimes.
[47:29]
And Jamie's done a nice job
[47:30]
and welcome a nice job at thinking
[47:36]
As long as you have those,
[47:38]
We don't ruin the revenue part yet.
[47:39]
We're, we're doing pretty good.
[47:41]
So I mean, just tonight people are commenting like,
[47:43]
these were the surplus tables
[47:45]
that we purchased two years ago.
[47:47]
They're in good shape, we're taking care of the equipment.
[47:49]
They're gonna last for a long time.
[47:50]
We're not looking to buy furniture right now.
[47:52]
And an economy where furniture is kind of off the table.
[47:55]
True. S everything. Yeah. So board has invested.
[48:00]
Well the first one is pretty good.
[48:04]
Me, Sarah, you nailed to,
[48:06]
You know, it's out of our spectrum entirely now,
[48:09]
but does the,
[48:11]
does the contract dictate insurance carrier state
[48:16]
or is that up to the state board?
[48:19]
All help is negotiated at the state bill.
[48:22]
Yep. We don't get to have anything to say with that
[48:25]
Is behi.
[48:26]
Yes. But, but does the state have a,
[48:28]
does the state have a discretion of whether they
[48:31]
provide Blue Cross or MVP per se?
[48:34]
Yes. We, our plans approved behi,
[48:36]
which is our Vermont Education Health commiss, that's to all
[48:39]
of the state health plans provide
[48:42]
and they're underwriting company.
[48:45]
So, but like, like I know, I'm just thinking out loud,
[48:48]
like I know at our work we, we have an option of Blue Cross
[48:51]
or MVP and we're
[48:53]
Not.
[48:54]
I know, I guess I'll just think like MVPs plans
[48:57]
went up about 1% this year.
[48:58]
Blue Cross went up 6%. Why isn't the state you a carrier?
[49:03]
We are self-insured. So we have self-insured.
[49:13]
I'm just like curious why the state might not be
[49:15]
underwriting the
[49:20]
Determine what plan we have to base our 80% on.
[49:24]
That's all negotiated at the state level.
[49:26]
Okay. So that's why like the goal, HP plan is the plan
[49:29]
that we have to, for the silver CP plan for support staff
[49:33]
that can choose either one of them.
[49:34]
And that's what we have to base our 80 20.
[49:37]
That's all part of the state negotiated.
[49:40]
Yeah. And Alan, a few of us have tried from our SU
[49:44]
to get on that committee to be part of that negotiation.
[49:47]
And we have never got picked.
[49:50]
I think the big, I think the big city Burlington
[49:53]
towns get picked for that.
[49:56]
I and I, I know
[49:57]
that health insurance is totally out of our control.
[50:00]
It just seems like if the states were like looking
[50:02]
to close schools to save money,
[50:04]
switching an insurance carrier could
[50:06]
save millions of dollars.
[50:08]
Well that's what Governor Scott promised is
[50:10]
that it was gonna save us millions of dollars if we went
[50:14]
to the negotiating iur insurance altogether.
[50:17]
And we never saw the savings. We just saw the increases.
[50:21]
Okay. Super. I try get that Mom poetry. That's a great
[50:27]
Conversation about that.
[50:28]
Actually, Stacy Dion called it,
[50:30]
I remember one day I was driving home.
[50:31]
I was like, I know that voice.
[50:33]
I know that voice really well.
[50:39]
When will you get the road segment? Until January.
[50:41]
Next time. Next time. As long as I get all the numbers.
[50:44]
Yeah, I don't have your mom turn. I did average.
[50:47]
I just got the, you know, the first draft of the yield.
[50:49]
I don't have CLOs yet. Yeah, okay.
[50:52]
But yeah, revenue will be January. Yeah. Okay.
[50:56]
Great. All right.
[51:00]
Any other questions on budget? No. All right. FY 25 audits.
[51:04]
So you all have the draft audit
[51:06]
that was shared in your packet.
[51:07]
Sorry, I don't print them because they're too thick.
[51:09]
Just putting that disclaimer out there.
[51:11]
If anybody wants to come meet with me, go page by page.
[51:13]
I'm happy to do that. Otherwise,
[51:15]
I just provide the highlights in my memo,
[51:19]
which outlines usually
[51:20]
what everyone's interested in knowing it's gonna find it here.
[51:24]
But I did.
[51:41]
So page 13 is your balance sheet
[51:44]
and that shows the, as where we ended as far
[51:48]
as fund balances are concerned.
[51:49]
So at the end of fiscal year 25,
[51:52]
we had an unassigned fund balance of $80,258,
[51:56]
which as a reminder, those the funds we have available
[51:59]
to use as offsetting revenue
[52:03]
To Request the voters to transfer them into reserve
[52:06]
funds in our annual warning.
[52:08]
Page 15 is the statement of revenues, expenditures,
[52:11]
and the change in fund balance.
[52:13]
So that actually shows you the overall performance
[52:15]
of the general fund in fiscal year 25.
[52:18]
And then page 52 of the audit is your actual side
[52:22]
by side comparison of the budget
[52:24]
to actual expenditures spent.
[52:26]
And I'm happy to report that we had a successful year
[52:30]
with no findings in our office.
[52:33]
Good. Great. Good job, Tara.
[52:35]
Yay. Thanks.
[52:37]
My whole team, we work hard to make sure
[52:40]
our financials are where they need to be.
[52:47]
You need us only
[52:49]
Audit.
[52:50]
Yep. So your action item will be
[52:51]
to accept your fiscal 25 audit.
[52:58]
So the actual
[53:00]
Revenue versus Had a deficit
[53:03]
Of 29,000.
[53:04]
So you'll overspent your budget by 29,000.
[53:07]
We had the prior year fund balance that
[53:08]
Helped offset that.
[53:09]
So I'll be more careful next
[53:14]
year in May.
[53:16]
Alright. Am I good?
[53:18]
Can I have a motion to accept the audit?
[53:21]
So moved. I'll second that. All those in favor say aye.
[53:27]
Aye. Opposed?
[53:32]
Okay. Public comments.
[53:34]
I don't think we have any unless Karen changed your mind,
[53:38]
but now we're good resignations in
[53:42]
new, we don't have any.
[53:47]
I don't have any. That is really,
[53:51]
I think we just need to pause and celebrate that
[53:52]
because yes, we've had in the fall
[53:55]
where people have said thank you, but no thank you.
[53:57]
And I think it shows like the mentoring current
[54:00]
of the SU level is hitting needs.
[54:03]
I think having principals in each location is hitting needs.
[54:07]
People are able to get to us probably a little sooner,
[54:10]
check in meetings and so forth.
[54:11]
So I think the board should see that
[54:13]
as a really positive step
[54:15]
and us also being able to recruit and retain.
[54:18]
So kudos to staff too. That Okay, great. Good to hear. Yeah.
[54:23]
Yeah. Future agenda items.
[54:28]
Did you have anything else that be the Tum tire?
[54:31]
The tum tire? Yes. I like it.
[54:39]
James, if you could do that, Tara? Yep.
[54:44]
Kathy, I dunno what to do now. How do we get to there?
[54:47]
Mom? We need to make a motion to go into executive session
[54:52]
Second regarding.
