[0:10] It's 6:00 o'clock. We'll call the meeting to order, and everyone is here tonight.
[0:17] At this time, we'll have the Pledge of Allegiance, and after that, we'll have our
[0:20] introduction.
[0:26] Stand, salute, pledge.
[0:29] I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the
[0:34] Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with
[0:40] liberty and justice for all.
[0:42] Let's pray.
[0:44] Dear Lord, we love you so much, and we're so grateful, Lord, for tonight and just
[0:47] all the many blessings that you've given us.
[0:48] We're so thankful for this community and all that it has to offer, Lord.
[0:52] And Lord, we just pray, as leaders, that everything that we do tonight brings glory
[0:56] and honor to you. It's in your son's name that we pray. Amen.
[1:04] Amen.
[1:05] Next on the agenda, we have the minutes.
[1:08] Do I have a motion to approve the minutes from last week?
[1:12] I make a motion to approve the minutes.
[1:14] Second.
[1:14] We've got a motion and a second
[1:18] from Mr. Harley and Ms. Tolley to approve the minutes. All in favor?
[1:22] The minutes. Next, we have the adoption of the agenda.
[1:28] No additions or deletions.
[1:31] I make a motion we adopt the agenda.
[1:36] Second.
[1:36] We've got a second. Ms. Tolley. All in favor? The minutes.
[1:40] Next, we have old business.
[1:43] The next school board meeting will be Tuesday, October 13th, 6:00
[1:49] o'clock.
[1:52] Interesting.
[1:55] Next, we have new business. First item is 16th section land.
[2:08] Okay, on 16th section, y'all see we don't have any delinquent rent
[2:14] for this month. So we've gotten all that cleaned up.
[2:17] For the delinquent rent, we've got it all cleaned up, so there's none out there for
[2:22] this month. The first item I need approval for is
[2:26] 267. This is just I'm requesting approval for a
[2:32] $5,000 performance bond return to Harrison Logging for the final harvest.
[2:38] The timber sale is complete, and the City Forestry Commission has confirmed that
[2:41] all required BPM work has been satisfactory and completed.
[2:47] Do we have a motion to approve item 267?
[2:49] I make a motion to approve 267.
[2:53] We've got a motion.
[2:55] Second.
[2:56] Second.
[2:56] Any questions? All in favor? The
[3:02] minutes.
[3:03] All right. The next item is 287. So this involves two related lease amendments for
[3:09] adjacent properties. They've done an updated survey, and it says approximately 0.8
[3:14] acres that's going to be transferred from the Sugar Foot Hunting Club and then Lee
[3:20] McGinnis residential lease. The amendments are to update the lease
[3:25] indexings for the survey, and then also to add Judy McGinnis to be added to Lee
[3:30] McGinnis's residential lease. So I'm asking if y'all approve both of those
[3:34] amendments.
[3:37] I make a motion to approve the amendments.
[3:43] I'll second that, approving the amendment on that lease.
[3:47] Okay.
[3:48] Any further questions? All in favor? The minutes.
[3:53] All right. That is it on 16th section.
[4:00] Next on the agenda, we have item B, which is personnel.
[4:09] To be in compliance with Mississippi Code 37-9-21, if you are
[4:15] related to any of the following personnel who will be considered and voted upon,
[4:20] please recuse yourself from the school board meeting until a motion and vote is
[4:26] made. I'd like to make the following faculty recommendations for the
[4:31] 2026-'27 school year, and this is Personnel
[4:37] One on your laptops.
[4:51] Do we need a motion and a vote?
[4:53] We've got a motion.
[4:54] I make a motion to approve Personnel One.
[4:56] We've got a motion.
[4:59] Second.
[4:59] Second for Personnel One. Any further discussion?
[5:03] All in favor?
[5:06] The minutes.
[5:09] Next, we have item C, policy. On the annual review
[5:15] for the B policies.
[5:18] So once we've got that, we can go in and review those
[5:22] for all big policies on all school board organization and items.
[5:27] I make a motion that we
[5:30] approve the annual review with no revisions on the B policies.
[5:34] Second.
[5:35] Second by Mr. Harley. All in favor?
[5:39] The minutes. Next, we have the crisis plans, 26 through 27.
[5:45] Mr. Reid.
[5:46] Guys, last month, we approved the district plan.
[5:50] These are the individual school safety assessments as well as the individual school
[5:56] plans.
[5:58] And if anyone has any questions, I'll be glad to answer them.
[6:01] If not, I ask for approval for these plans.
[6:08] I make a motion to approve the public school safety crisis plans.
[6:14] Second.
[6:15] Second by Ms. McKayle.
[6:17] Any further discussion?
[6:20] All in favor? The minutes. Next, we have item D, the
[6:26] approval of the Career and Technical Center interim program.
[6:32] What we are trying to do is to establish a student
[6:38] internship program that will provide qualified high school students with
[6:44] paid part-time supervised employment opportunities connected
[6:51] to their CTE stemming career preparation.
[6:55] This is something that we felt like we have an opportunity that we can do
[7:00] considering the EIC and all that's working there, and the additional help that we
[7:06] need. The program will allow students who qualify, seniors
[7:11] who qualify for early release to apply skills learned through schools, through
[7:18] work experiences with the Grenada School District, and where appropriate and
[7:23] participating community partners also join us.
[7:29] The program will begin during this school year, '26, '27 year.
[7:34] And it would begin first with one fab tech
[7:40] funded by the Grenada Public Education Foundation.
[7:46] Additional student positions will be developed throughout the year as funding
[7:52] and as students become qualified to do
[7:57] meaningful work assignments, then we will have appropriate supervision.
[8:04] Now, we've looked at this through
[8:10] Julie, who has looked at the legal side of what takes place whenever you
[8:16] employ someone. So these students would be paid part-time employees, and
[8:22] they must qualify for senior early release, as I mentioned before.
[8:28] They would normally work around eight to 15 hours a week,
[8:33] and that would remain below the applicable
[8:39] PERS coverage threshold of 20 hours a week. Okay?
[8:45] We think it would be a very good program.
[8:47] The proposed career paths for this would be a fab tech, a
[8:53] teacher's aide for pre-K,
[8:58] automotive tech That would be working at the bus shop, health tracks
[9:04] tech in health sciences. That would be a healthcare work site
[9:10] person, maintenance tech, a person that would be working in
[9:14] carpentry and construction within the maintenance department.
[9:20] Engineering tech, this would be a person that would be
[9:26] getting ready for Project Lead the Way engineering, and would be working at the
[9:32] EIC in a hospitality tech, someone that would be working with
[9:38] culinary arts and food service in the school district, they'd be working
[9:44] within that area. Now, the pay would be
[9:48] $8.72 an hour. This program has already been
[9:53] piloted by a couple of school districts across the state, Pascagoula School
[9:59] District, and Pascagoula's CTA Teacher
[10:06] Academy, they're already doing this.
[10:08] We think this is a wonderful way for our students to gain some real work
[10:13] experience, be supervised well, and to
[10:19] learn what they need to do in the workplace.
[10:22] And it would give them an opportunity to earn a little bit of funds that
[10:28] would make it a little bit more relevant.
[10:31] Students are expected to be at the assigned work site, performing the assigned
[10:37] work under the supervision of a designated employee during all
[10:43] scheduled work hours. In other words, we're not just going to put them out there
[10:47] and let them run on their own. Somebody's going to be there working with them and
[10:53] trying to help them to understand what they need to do.
[10:56] They would clock in and clock out so we can keep up with our hours very
[11:02] appropriately. And, we're expecting these students to comply
[11:08] with all district policies, procedures, rules, everything that we do in the
[11:14] workplace. We expect our students to do the very same thing.
[11:18] And if they don't do that, then we would remove them from this student internship
[11:25] program. We think it's a good program.
[11:28] It would be coordinated with administrators and we think it would be a wonderful
[11:34] thing. And so we're asking for board action is being requested to approve
[11:40] the establishment of the Grenada Career and Technical Center student
[11:46] intern program, and authorize the administration to begin
[11:50] implementation with one fab tech person
[11:56] first, and subsequently develop additional student
[12:01] interns as we go into the year. And Dr.
[12:07] Bain, do you have anything you want to say about the program?
[12:11] Sure.
[12:16] And we feel good about this program because it gives students an opportunity to
[12:21] have chances to interview outside of our mock interview experiences, and so
[12:26] students will have experience going in to having to interview, be able to
[12:31] communicate well with individuals who are interviewing them.
[12:36] We are working to improve our workforce development program and just to get
[12:41] students from the school and into the work site.
[12:44] And so we don't want to say per se that the students that go through educator prep
[12:48] will become teacher assistants, but we want to give them that opportunity to
[12:52] experience the workforce. And so just to get them as much experience as possible
[12:56] and just trying to find ways to get our students into the workforce.
[13:01] So that's our main thing. Any questions?
[13:05] Just got a quick question.
[13:06] Sure.
[13:08] So, are they just like... I mean, it sounds like a really good opportunity, but so
[13:12] do these students just like apply and they get selected or interviewed kind of like
[13:16] they normally would on a job and then selected from there?
[13:20] Or is there certain students that get selected for these?
[13:23] We want to be fair to all.
[13:25] Okay.
[13:25] And so we give all students, as long as they, right now, as they've gone through
[13:29] the CTE programs, then they will be eligible for the jobs
[13:34] or internships.
[13:37] Sounds great.
[13:39] Thank you.
[13:40] Thank you.
[13:40] Thank you.
[13:46] So we need a motion then, Val?
[13:48] So moved.
[13:49] It's been motioned by Ms. Harvey.
[13:51] Second.
[13:51] Second by Ms. McCarley. Any further discussion? All favored?
[13:57] Aye.
[13:57] Next.
[14:02] Next, we have on the agenda the approval of the Grenada Middle School renovation
[14:06] and bidding process.
[14:08] Yeah, what we have,
[14:12] we've had the Bailey group, architectural firm out of
[14:17] Jackson, who has done, they've probably built more schools in
[14:23] Mississippi than anybody that I can think of.
[14:27] And they've been very involved, and they've worked on the middle school project
[14:33] that we are presently doing. But this
[14:38] is for the middle school renovations for the gym floor and
[14:44] bleachers at the middle school. We have the construction documents that are
[14:50] here, and then we have drawings on what would take place with this.
[14:55] Now,
[14:59] how much is it going to cost to do this?
[15:01] Well, we're not going to really know an exact amount until the bidding process is
[15:07] over. So what we're asking for is that you give us permission to go
[15:13] on and bid this project. Now, the guesstimated
[15:18] cost of bidding this project is about,
[15:23] according to Bailey Architectural Firm, the estimated
[15:29] cost is about $481,000, and that would cover
[15:35] the floor and the bleachers. That would cover putting a new floor
[15:40] in and the bleachers. Now, y'all remember from a couple of meetings ago,
[15:46] we discussed that it was very important that we had
[15:53] the water situation remedied before we would do anything in the gym.
[15:58] And that's what we're going to do. We're getting ready, hopefully, to be able to
[16:04] get some of that work underway. But we need permission to go on
[16:10] and bid this, a guesstimate $481,000
[16:17] for the floor and the bleachers.
[16:23] Any questions from anyone?
[16:26] Okay.
[16:27] Do you know the difference in the two prices on the floor?
[16:30] What part of the floor is 481 and what part of the bleachers is 481?
[16:36] Say that again, please.
[16:37] So the two pieces were $481,000-
[16:40] Right. I don't know. I asked him for a total of what the whole
[16:45] project, what would be the guesstimate of the whole project, and he gave me a
[16:50] number of $481,000. Now,
[16:54] personally, I'm certainly hoping that it comes in lower than that.
[16:58] And I think earlier, Dr. Turner, you had mentioned that you had somebody, I made
[17:04] a note here, that could put that floor down for $80,000.
[17:11] Boy, it's time to call that person and tell them to bid.
[17:16] What do you think? You can do it for $80,000?
[17:18] Sports Floors.
[17:20] Yeah.
[17:20] The ones that do the Grizzlies floors, the ones that do Mississippi State floors
[17:25] around there.
[17:25] That would be wonderful.
[17:28] And of course, that's a range. I mean, you can get them for as low as $60,000 to
[17:32] $400,000.
[17:33] Right.
[17:33] But I know you can get a nice floor for about 80.
[17:36] Well, this is going to go out to bid, and then it's going to be,
[17:42] and I think it's put in the newspaper, isn't that right, Julie?
[17:46] So everybody will see it. So if you've got a contact over there, please reach out
[17:51] to them and let them know that this is being bid so that we can get this project
[17:56] underway and done and maybe save some money.
[17:58] Do you have that up when it comes up for bid or when it's going to be?
[18:02] It's going to be, well, if y'all approve us to send this to bid tonight,
[18:08] then we're going to get the process started.
[18:11] He said in about two weeks or is that what he said?
[18:14] About two weeks it's going to be coming out. We ought to be in good shape.
[18:19] Okay.
[18:20] Okay?
[18:20] Okay.
[18:21] All right
[18:26] So you just need, you want people just put up the-
[18:28] After I-
[18:29] Yeah
[18:30] So we need a motion and vote.
[18:32] I've got a motion by Trustee
[18:34] Williams.
[18:34] Okay, we can do this. We can do this. Okay.
[18:35] And a second by Commissioner McCarthy.
[18:38] Okay. Yeah.
[18:44] All in favor?
[18:44] Yes.
[18:44] Okay.
[18:44] All right. Next, we have-
[18:45] And by the way, I have the plans and all the specs here if anybody who's interested
[18:50] and wants to look at all that. Okay?
[18:53] Right. Next, we have the approval of the EIC bid and Entrepreneur Innovation
[18:58] Center.
[19:00] Okay.
[19:02] As you know, we've been working on the old newspaper building, which
[19:08] is the EIC, and we've been working on that quite a while.
[19:13] And we've finally gotten to the point that we have the drawings completed, and we
[19:17] have everything underway, A/C, electrical, flooring, ceilings,
[19:23] any other work that needs to be done in that building.
[19:27] Everything has been put together, and now,
[19:32] we
[19:34] put it out for bid. And, we
[19:39] have someone that we'd like to recommend,
[19:42] the recommendation is to award the project to Lubin
[19:48] Enterprise Incorporated for the base bid and add on
[19:54] alternative one for a total bid in the amount of
[19:59] $3,725,000.
[20:06] And we have four different companies that actually, four or five that bidded on the
[20:11] project.
[20:14] And
[20:16] our architect, Robert Zander, felt like we got a reasonable bid,
[20:22] and so he is recommending that we move forward with it.
[20:26] So we need a motion and a vote to accept this bid.
[20:34] Looking at these, they're talking about trying to get everything done in 300 days?
[20:39] Yeah. We're guessing, like we were hoping that they would come in a little bit
[20:44] quicker than that. But the bottom line is they are saying that they can get it done
[20:50] in 300 days.
[20:52] Mm.
[20:52] That's what they are saying. So we're talking about opening up at the beginning of
[20:57] next school year, approximately. That's an approximation. Okay?
[21:04] Just like at the middle school, it's gonna be toward the end of this school year.
[21:09] Don't know if we'll have enough time to move in or not-
[21:12] Mm-hmm
[21:12] ... or it'll be the beginning of next school year.
[21:18] Okay.
[21:19] So we ask you to please accept that bid.
[21:27] I have a motion for approval.
[21:28] I'll make a motion.
[21:29] Approved bid, Lubin Enterprises. Good motion, Mr. Edwards.
[21:35] Second.
[21:36] Second by Mr. McCarthy.
[21:39] Any further discussion?
[21:42] All in favor?
[21:45] Yes.
[21:48] Next, we have the superintendent's report.
[21:53] Just a few brief things. In regard to facilities, we have made
[21:59] some really good progress on the middle school.
[22:01] I walked through the other day, and things are coming along very nicely, and it's
[22:07] really gonna change everything about the middle school.
[22:11] We're really excited by that, and the folks at the middle school are excited about
[22:16] this, and they'll have a great place to go to work.
[22:25] And so we should be
[22:28] in pretty good shape. Now, we're working, as we mentioned a minute ago, at the
[22:32] middle school on the other project and on the one that you just
[22:38] approved a second ago about the gym floor and the
[22:43] bleachers and all of that stuff. So we have all of this going on at the same time
[22:49] for the middle school.
[22:53] Today, I wanted to report to you that today was the first day of Project
[22:59] Search at Milwaukee Tools, and we're excited about that.
[23:04] This is a program that we talked about a month ago that we are helping out with
[23:10] special needs students for employment purposes
[23:16] at Milwaukee, and today was their first day.
[23:20] They went in, they were excited, and they're up and running.
[23:24] We have how many, Faith? We have six-
[23:26] We have four interns, and today was their first day working on the floor.
[23:32] Mm.
[23:33] They've been in the classroom for the past three weeks, and today was their first
[23:37] day to be out on the floor. And they were all smiles.
[23:42] Everybody was excited to be working and contributing and-
[23:48] That's wonderful
[23:48] ... they eat lunch with the line that they're on, so it is like they are treated,
[23:54] even though it's an internship, they're treated like they are an employee of
[23:58] Milwaukee Tool, and I just think it's a fabulous opportunity for our students.
[24:04] And hence, when you think about it, we talk about education all the time and the
[24:09] value of education.
[24:11] Mm-hmm.
[24:11] If you're not preparing kids for the workforce or to go on to
[24:18] another level of education so that they can get ready for the workforce, then what
[24:22] are we doing? So this is so absolutely critical, and these kids would
[24:28] never, ever have an opportunity. And so we are excited about that, and we
[24:34] think that it's gonna be a great program, and we think that it's gonna have a very
[24:38] bright future. The third thing I wanted to mention was,
[24:45] we are looking at a
[24:50] weapons detection system to put in our schools.
[24:56] And what we would like to do, we've got some more research to do on this, but what
[25:02] we would like to do... And when we're talking about weapons detection system,
[25:08] this is something that sits at the entrance to the schools. Okay?
[25:14] And then when students walk through, then it's gonna be able to scan them
[25:21] and see if they might have some type of weapon. Okay?
[25:26] Because we know that we have issues that's going on within our community, and we
[25:32] want to do everything we can to help to make sure our students are in a
[25:38] very safe, hosted environment at school.
[25:42] And so what we would like to do is we would like to research this project,
[25:48] then we would like to do a reverse auction so that we could get the product
[25:54] that we need for the cheapest amount of money.
[25:57] Now, basically what we're talking about is each of
[26:02] these systems would cost in the neighborhood of $80,000 to
[26:08] $90,000, each one. We
[26:14] would need, and Carl, is he back there somewhere?
[26:18] I am.
[26:18] Yeah. We need how many, Carl?
[26:20] Five.
[26:21] We need five. Three at the high school-
[26:23] Two at the middle
[26:24] ... two at the middle school. Now, these are movable things, so you might have them
[26:30] at the entrance door of the high school in the morning, and then later on during
[26:36] the day, you may just move it and set it up very quickly at the cafeteria
[26:41] door, so that when kids come through, then you could double-check.
[26:48] You could use them at ballgames. You just set them up in a different location,
[26:54] and this thing is able to detect any kind of
[27:00] weapons that might be out there. Now, again, we gotta do our research, but as soon
[27:06] as we get finished doing the research, then we'd be ready to go on and do a reverse
[27:11] auction. What I'm getting at is I don't want to waste a lot of time-
[27:17] Mm-hmm
[27:17] ... trying to talk about it and decide, okay?
[27:20] If we are ready to go, then if we value protecting
[27:26] the kids in our schools, and we certainly do, then let's see if we can move
[27:32] forward. It's gonna cost us in the neighborhood of around $400,000 to
[27:38] do this. Okay? Now
[27:41] If you want us to get the information first, then come back to you, then we will do
[27:47] that. That'll give you all time to talk about it, think about it, and
[27:53] we can look at all of the stuff.
[27:56] And maybe if you would be in charge of that project and bring us back a report
[28:02] on what we found out and see if we can get some folks here to come and demo this
[28:07] for us, and we will do that. The guesstimate is around $400,000. Okay?
[28:13] And
[28:15] so that's
[28:17] what we'd like to recommend. We'll come back in one month.
[28:21] We'll have a good conversation about it, okay?
[28:24] The final thing is that on the academic side, I'm not going to mention anything
[28:29] about academics at this point. Okay?
[28:32] If you go online, you can see a video that's out there that talks all
[28:38] about the successes that we have had, and which we are most
[28:44] grateful to our teachers, our principals, our
[28:50] students, all of the staff within the district, the hard work that they have done,
[28:57] because bottom line is they have done some absolutely
[29:02] amazing first-time ever things, and we're going to talk about that next
[29:08] meeting. Okay? But that's all I wanted to say about the
[29:13] academic side. Everything's going quite well.
[29:16] So that's it for the superintendent's report.
[29:23] Next item we have tonight is H, on the community donation for food services.
[29:29] And we have Pastor Randy Jackson here with us, and he's going to talk to us about
[29:35] something he wants to see happen.
[29:37] Yes. I think it was a few meetings ago, that a discussion came up about
[29:44] the lunch program, and I believe it was mentioned that some kids might
[29:50] fall through the cracks of not being able to afford lunch.
[29:57] So I didn't really understand it, what was going on, until
[30:03] I spoke with Dr. Turner and Dr. Harrington, and they kind of explained it to me
[30:08] what was really happening. So I went back to my church, our church is
[30:12] Bellflower-Hurley Chapel, and told them what was going on, and they
[30:18] responded with a donation. And then another person I talked to heard about it,
[30:24] and her and her husband donated as well.
[30:28] And I have three checks here tonight,
[30:31] one from Bellflower, one from Hurley Chapel, and another check
[30:36] from Kyle and Robbie Wilson in the amount of
[30:42] $1,500. So I don't want
[30:48] applause or thanks. If you want to applaud anyone, applaud Bellflower,
[30:53] applaud Hurley Chapel, and applaud
[30:59] Kyle and Robbie Wilson. I don't know who to give this to, but hurry up.
[31:12] Pastor, thank you so much for working on this and helping us with this.
[31:17] We appreciate this so very much.
[31:20] We don't want a child to be hungry.
[31:22] That's right. Thank you.
[31:26] Yes, thank you.
[31:28] Next we have item I, is the approval of the workers' compensation trust fund.
[31:42] So we've got the '27 workers' comp policy renewal, and I'm asking the
[31:48] board to approve this year's
[31:51] renewal. If y'all have any questions about it, it is a little up from last year,
[31:57] and it's mainly because of the member refund.
[32:00] So they had a decrease in that member refund in hopes that the next year they'll
[32:05] have a bigger refund, is what they were telling me.
[32:11] So I think the actual premium didn't go up, about $4,300, and that's on top of our
[32:16] payroll increasing and
[32:20] everything.
[32:22] I make a motion to approve the workers' compensation trust fund.
[32:26] Second. Second by Ms. Conley. Any further discussion? All in favor?
[32:31] Yes.
[32:33] Next, we have on I is the approval of Section 125 Flexible Benefit Plan.
[32:38] This is our cafeteria plan. I'm requesting the board approval for this Section 125
[32:42] Flexible Benefit Plan, and there isn't any changes this year.
[32:46] So all the rates and everything stay the same.
[32:50] So moved. A motion by Ms. Conley.
[32:54] Second.
[32:55] Second by Mr. Conley.
[32:58] All in favor?
[33:00] Yes.
[33:02] Next, we have the declaration of junk and surplus items.
[33:07] So I'm asking the board to approve these items to be declared as junk and surplus.
[33:15] I make a motion to approve the junk and surplus list. Second. Second by Ms. Conley.
[33:20] Any further discussion? All in favor?
[33:23] Yes.
[33:25] Next, we have the approval to remove Career Tech Wage Case Center assets from the
[33:30] state asset list.
[33:35] Dr. Turner.
[33:37] I'm just asking that you guys remove those items.
[33:40] They're off of the fixed assets list, and we want to remove them from our state
[33:44] audit item list.
[33:47] So moved.
[33:49] Second.
[33:49] A motion and a second to remove the
[33:53] asset from the state asset list there. Any further discussion?
[33:58] All in favor?
[34:00] Yes.
[34:01] Next, we have the single source list or items, rather.
[34:09] Okay, we've got one single source,
[34:13] and this is from Riverside Insights for specialized assessments that are used by
[34:17] our special education department.
[34:20] And because the exclusive products specific to the WJ system, they qualify as a
[34:25] single source purchase and will be funded with the IDEA Part B funds.
[34:30] I'm asking you to approve this as a single source.
[34:36] I make a motion to approve the single source item as presented. Second.
[34:40] Second by Mr. Conley. Any further discussion?
[34:46] All favor?
[34:48] Yes.
[34:49] Next, we have the review of financial statements and activity fund reports.
[34:54] Requesting the board's approval of the July financial statements and activity fund
[34:59] transactions, and they are still preliminary at this point.
[35:09] I'll make a motion we receive and file the financial statements.
[35:15] Second.
[35:16] And second to receive and file. All in favor?
[35:20] Yes.
[35:23] Next, we have a public comment.
[35:28] Anybody sign up for that?
[35:31] Next on the agenda are item of bills.
[35:36] That motion to approve the bills. Do I hear a motion to approve the bills?
[35:40] Is that it? Ms. Conley. All in favor?
[35:44] Yes.
[35:44] Next item is the executive session.
[35:49] Dr. Huff, are we going to go to executive session?
[35:51] We do not. Can I mention just one thing?
[35:56] Sure.
[35:56] You have in your packet somewhere, some information that came in from
[36:01] the-
[36:03] Survey
[36:03] ... yeah, survey from the Mississippi School Board Association that's asking your
[36:08] opinion of what you'd like to see the legislature cover.
[36:12] If you would, please look at that within the next month and then
[36:18] bring it to the next meeting, and then Kelly will comprise a list
[36:24] of the items that you think are very, very important.
[36:28] If you want to discuss any of them, then we certainly can.
[36:33] But you just vote on, mark the ones that you think are important,
[36:39] and the majority rules when we get ready to send our
[36:45] one vote off on each item, okay? From tonight. Okay?
[36:51] So thank you for that.
[36:54] All right. If there's nothing else, then I make a motion we adjourn.
[36:59] Second. Second. I'll vote. Yes, we're adjourned.
[37:01] Quick. Good deal.
[37:04] Crazy.
