[0:00] We are recording. Hey, welcome. It is 7-0-2 on March 9, 2026, and we are beginning the Gunnison Valley
[0:10] REC board meeting. Appreciate everyone being here. We do have a quorum, and I'm
[0:19] going to ask for a motion to rearrange the agenda.
[0:24] And the reason I want to do that is I'd like to hear from Gettyson-Grantzline first, so that we can have that move on, so I'll make that motion.
[0:34] It's been second.
[0:36] Second, and any discussion on the motion?
[0:38] Do you need to say who, so she can get in the minutes?
[0:41] Yes.
[0:42] So the motion was by Mayor Chaps Leatherwood, and the second was by Coach Robert Anderson.
[0:48] and no discussion on the motion. I'll place the motion, all in favor of moving the agenda, say aye.
[0:54] Aye.
[0:55] Any opposed? Motion passed unanimously.
[0:58] So we will go to that portion of the agenda and hear from you.
[1:02] You've got some grand slam, otherwise known as yard goat's tournament.
[1:07] Okay, so I, Janet, I'm asking you to ask for you guys to have one of this break out.
[1:13] So I'll just pass it.
[1:20] So let's just go over all the time that everybody, I mean lots of people as you can see from
[1:25] the community, but in time to make this thing happen last year, Mike, I talked last
[1:31] meeting. We did a lot of field work and prep that turned out to be really nice because
[1:36] and then rec stars right after and the fields are ready to go.
[1:42] What we are asking for for the tournament
[1:46] is from the city and you hear from the rec department is
[1:50] just equipment for the fields.
[1:53] So we're going to use the center field park
[1:56] as right now anyway.
[1:58] And if we have a pop-up fence that we could set up out there,
[2:02] even if it's just the orange,
[2:08] I do not know. I have not seen one in the last year.
[2:13] We don't think we have any less to Jonah that the city.
[2:18] They don't want to have the soft balls.
[2:20] What age are you going to play with?
[2:23] The soft ball has one that too.
[2:26] They don't have an old one laying around.
[2:29] So we don't have, it sounds like we don't have one and we don't have a, we haven't, don't have it on the
[2:35] agenda to purchase Greg. Right. Right. So that's fine. Do we have T-Pulse and the orange vinyl, whatever it's called, the construction
[2:43] I could talk to Jill and all that and see because I don't know what to do yeah, I talked to John
[2:50] But I don't know if you court me
[2:57] So post and just the cheap roll out
[3:00] Yeah, that and then we'll need the mounds
[3:05] Obviously, we do
[3:07] Okay, I think we'll need I mean now I think we'll be good for this year
[3:11] But eventually you might want to get one more because then one's just a little
[3:14] T-small at one. Yeah.
[3:18] And then chalk the the drag machine
[3:24] Rakes from the contacts out there. What else my missing bases bases. Yeah, okay
[3:34] And all of those things belong to the wreck. Yeah, or I mean some of we have high school stuff that we use
[3:41] Yeah, but we don't have enough for five fields, right? So
[3:47] Just making sure we're not stepping out a line of moving somebody else's right the equipment is all
[3:52] And then
[3:54] You said there was a dragon center field. It's still there. I seen it yesterday
[3:58] Is there any update on the mayfield field?
[4:01] We heard it wasn't there's nothing
[4:08] No, I
[4:09] say it's all a p-grabble okay and then uh chance I kind of talked to you about this a little bit
[4:15] but if we can add 70 foot base anchors to centerfield as well and I can come help with that but okay
[4:22] if that's okay to do out there anyway what do we need from centerfield city to do that from centerfield
[4:29] Yeah, well we need approval from oh to
[4:34] Move the map to 70 feet
[4:39] Yeah, yeah, I just need to get you need to get in contact with
[4:44] Joe and our Stewart what it would take is I was out there looking at it a
[4:48] Couple days ago was we would have to cut the grass back just a little bit
[4:54] Not a lot though that grass arcs really hard as it comes back towards the baseline and
[4:59] Typically on a normal diamond it flattens out as it goes towards the edges
[5:04] So we have a sod cutter. Yes, Centerfield City has a brand new line and say we have one
[5:08] But the wreck we use the wreck is not have one. Okay. No, and that's fine
[5:13] I was just gonna say I'm sure we have it Randy. Can you think of any reason why that would be an issue?
[5:19] Okay, Joan, I think don't want a couple years ago. We're fairly recent
[5:25] We have one. I just didn't know if the wreck had one wreck. It's never had anyone. Okay. So I guess my more specifically my question is it sounds like Jans is working with Stuart and Joan already. Yeah, they need any more approval process from centerfield city to do those things in centerfield to work with. No, we put it on the agenda for. I mean, just by information, but I don't think we need the park. It's under there. Joan has been phenomenal.
[5:54] I think we just need to have Jonah get in contact with the councilman over the parks to make her wear, which would be Britney
[6:01] Fisher, but other than that, I don't think we need this isn't
[6:06] Costing us anything. I agree. I just don't know. I'm just trying to know you're not
[6:10] I'm just trying to think of a process that would require the council's approval. I wouldn't think so. I don't
[6:16] No, help me out is what I'm saying. I don't I don't think so in any way shape reform, but I just don't want it
[6:22] You know, get out over our skis over, I'll tell you, you're proper, you're not.
[6:28] Joan and centerfields great to work with, they're really good.
[6:32] Yeah, he's great.
[6:35] So, it sounds like we need a motion to the wreck board to use whatever equipment we have to support this project.
[6:44] And I'm just going to highlight really quickly, I love the breakdown that you've done.
[6:47] So, the yard goats host this tournament, and their donations total almost $7,500 that are
[6:57] improvements to ball fields, things getting ready for our REC program.
[7:03] So, I think it's completely appropriate, I appreciate all the work you guys do.
[7:09] So.
[7:10] He got a good account and take care of this. He does a good job. So you just got caught.
[7:15] The only thing that I might have is I'd like a larger print. This is last year. So you just
[7:23] keep it updated for this year. Yeah, and it'll be. He does. It's pretty amazing. Just so we have
[7:31] records here in case we ever get called. Yeah, absolutely. And then if you want me to get a copy
[7:38] If, yeah, as soon as you guys have the updated one, what you've done to the work, I think it would be good that we have in our records, in case anybody questions it.
[7:47] And then we talked last meeting, but we'll do the, what the heck is the waiver? The waivers for the city?
[7:55] Yeah.
[7:57] Again, and then we still have those from last year, and I don't know if we need a term in the city or not, or just have a side of for safety reasons, I guess.
[8:05] Yeah, I think if you get them to, I don't know, you need this person to both cities
[8:10] But if we, if one of the cities had them, if something happened to either one, we could, we'd have access to them, so
[8:16] Okay, so last year how I did it is one of the teams showed up
[8:18] I just have to go out with their parents and it's a roster with their whole team on there
[8:24] I wonder if they worked out pretty good
[8:27] No, no, no, what's the date on this again? May 15th and 16th, I think, yeah, yeah
[8:39] I have a motion from Board Member Franson to approve the use of equipment
[8:46] longing to ginseng Valley rack for the purpose of the Grantsland Tournament and whatever
[8:52] support we can provide, non-monetary.
[8:56] I'll second that.
[8:58] Seconded by Coach Anderson.
[9:00] Any discussion on that motion?
[9:03] I'll place the motion. All in favor say aye.
[9:05] Hi.
[9:07] It's unanimous.
[9:09] Thanks guys.
[9:10] Thank you.
[9:10] Thank you very much.
[9:12] I appreciate that very, very much.
[9:14] It's an asset to the community.
[9:17] Yeah, that's pretty good.
[9:18] It's great.
[9:19] Oh, it's good. We're excited.
[9:20] Thank you.
[9:21] Thank you, guys.
[9:21] You later.
[9:22] How fun a team dinner.
[9:24] Just how curious.
[9:25] Who is supposed to be kind of moving along the Mayfield fallfield situation?
[9:29] Is that for us?
[9:30] No, no, no, it's gonna be those who come in here because there let's be honest
[9:35] I don't think like most of the councils are not thinking about the ballfield slowly so it's whoever the wreck
[9:42] Members are probably gonna be the ones pushing that help promote with
[9:45] Okay, it was a motel cross
[9:48] Then you I think Mayor good might be
[9:54] Why do you go for it
[10:00] Shane Nelson.
[10:02] Shane's been working with it.
[10:04] I know.
[10:05] So there's someone trying to push that.
[10:07] That's what I wondered, OK.
[10:09] I think with a mayor who runs an eco life, right?
[10:13] And he's got some hands on what they can do to.
[10:15] Right.
[10:16] But he's got some tools that he might
[10:18] have to pay care of the problems that they've had.
[10:23] And I'd be willing to go up there and help him days
[10:26] or whatever.
[10:26] the whole diamond needs to be tipped to the right,
[10:31] because it runs into the side wall.
[10:34] The way it is right now,
[10:36] your outfield foul line,
[10:39] the side wall comes into the play.
[10:42] And if it's just tipped,
[10:43] the other way to deliminate that,
[10:45] so just a few little things.
[10:48] Hey, so she's hungry.
[10:54] I'm gonna ask for a personal privilege.
[10:55] this point in the agenda. Mayor, I want to appreciate you joining us. Do you have anything
[11:00] you want to visit with about the board? Just here to oversee. Thanks for being here.
[11:06] Glad to have you. Thanks for coming. Yes, appreciate that. Okay, next time on the agenda is
[11:12] the approval of the minutes from our last meeting. It was February 9th, 2026. Has everyone had
[11:18] a chance to review the minutes and was there any corrections needed to be made or any discussion
[11:25] on the minutes.
[11:28] Do you read them all? Good, man. Yeah, let's make a motion and move to a
[11:37] group of minutes. Is by member of Color France? Is there a second? I'll second it. Seconded by
[11:44] Coach Anderson. Any discussion on the motion? I'll place the motion all in favor say aye. Aye. Any opposed?
[11:53] motion carries unanimously.
[11:57] Time to have the conversation again on promo codes.
[12:00] Yeah. We got it on the agenda just so we can make a decision about it this year.
[12:05] I'm glad that we had the discussion last time and I'm glad that we're bringing it back
[12:09] because I didn't have a chance to meet with Gary the accountant.
[12:13] Oh, right. So I'd love the insight from that, I guess. I'm curious.
[12:16] You want me to start with that? Yeah.
[12:17] Okay, I don't want to influence how you present or what you want to do, but when you look at the
[12:27] Budget that we have this been provided you can see that it's broke down by sport.
[12:31] And so if you just keep that in mind when we present and then we have a brandy of person last time either and we want your input on this as well
[12:41] I show different ways might affect you going forward or what you think might be the best option
[12:46] So please don't be afraid to chime in.
[12:49] We'll ask for your input on it.
[12:51] For sure.
[12:51] With that, I give you the time.
[12:56] OK.
[12:57] Well, what we've kind of talked about last time
[12:59] is it seemed like a lot of us were fine with doing
[13:02] the promo codes for coaches.
[13:03] We just didn't know how to go about it.
[13:05] I've talked to Lacey and Randy a little bit.
[13:08] The problem I think we run into, correct me if I'm wrong here,
[13:11] Randy, is say that I text out when soccer
[13:16] and I text on coaches and I say, hey, here's a $15 or $20 off the next
[13:20] board and now we are basically spending soccer money on
[13:25] baseball or whatever you understand the situation.
[13:29] That's where I think it gets tricky. I think the idea of it everyone is
[13:32] fine with, right? You know, trying to give back to people donating
[13:36] and a thought I had. Can I catch you up a little bit on what the topic is
[13:40] if you don't know. So on the website where people sign up
[13:45] for their sports and pay the fees for the sports.
[13:48] There has been a promo code in the past,
[13:50] but the use was very limited.
[13:53] Not sure how broadly it was disseminated,
[13:55] and so there was a few that had it,
[13:56] and a few that used it.
[13:58] And it did kind of offset the numbers between sports,
[14:01] because they would use it for the next, or...
[14:03] They'd use it for everything.
[14:04] For every sport.
[14:05] For every sport.
[14:06] For every other part of the sport.
[14:07] For the one.
[14:08] And to have the promo code, they've got a discount
[14:10] signing their kids up.
[14:11] And so the tensions have been amazing to keep on top of things and bring this to us and
[14:20] help navigate this in the right direction.
[14:21] So the promo code, I think, when we had the discussion, there was nobody opposed to the
[14:25] promo code.
[14:26] It was just the way it was being administered.
[14:27] It wasn't disseminated broadly enough, and it was used too broadly by those that had it.
[14:33] Yes.
[14:35] So I'm taking advantage of the situation and others not knowing it was available?
[14:39] Most, not now, it was bailable, I would tell you.
[14:41] I don't think hardly anyone knew.
[14:43] So, which bailouts for years?
[14:44] We've been using bailouts for so many years.
[14:46] We've been using bailouts for so many years.
[14:47] And you've been using bailouts for so many years.
[14:48] Basically, it was about 50% off.
[14:50] What we proposed was maybe, like, when spring soccer is now ending,
[14:54] I would text you, so those coaches, hey, here's a one-time use code
[14:57] for, say, $15 off your next board.
[15:00] But what we're wondering maybe from Randy or these ladies is, is that messing too much with mixing of budgets? Yes. Yes. 100% yes. And that's what I kind of got from my phone call with them as they were like, uh, we don't think that's a good idea. But then they also correct me if I'm wrong care to did not want to do like refund checks either. Just because of like the time and the mess of that. Um, but that, you know, that was like my phone call with them as they both were like, I think it's messy.
[15:30] So is there any, is there a proposal on how to use it effectively where there is some benefit?
[15:36] Or is there another way that we can, obviously, you can't run your programs without a bunch of coaches?
[15:44] Yeah, that's what's hard. The only way I could see it working is if you do beforehand
[15:47] and we just never really know who all the coaches are beforehand, except for me, tackle football.
[15:53] But you know, but yeah,
[15:56] pretty much anybody else. I don't I don't have a great
[16:03] Just trying to remember we didn't have did we come up with one?
[16:08] Because we ran through all these scenarios too when this was brought up and
[16:13] We don't like the idea of a refund check. I mean if it was a smaller coach sport
[16:18] we thought well we could probably do but if we're soccer's gonna have 20 coaches 20 coaches that's
[16:23] just a little yeah I agree so but if you can't do for one I don't know how you do for all
[16:29] I agree that's kind of just trying to think that's the scenarios we ran through right I didn't know
[16:35] we'll eventually with us all catch up to each other if we were like now if soccer coaches are using
[16:41] it for baseball but then baseball's moving into football and will it eventually just catch back up
[16:45] but not be a huge deal, no.
[16:46] Okay, that was my question.
[16:48] Co-mingling those.
[16:50] And it is one budget, but you're told
[16:52] me going the items in the budget.
[16:54] And we're trying to track expenses by sports.
[16:56] Yeah, that's very expensive.
[16:58] I never get a dreamy hard view
[17:00] of what that sport's doing.
[17:02] Okay, so then you made them wait till the next year
[17:04] for the same sport.
[17:06] If you have repeat coaches,
[17:08] not opposed to that problem.
[17:10] But then you only hit a certain demographic
[17:12] Because if kids follow, yeah, you know, that's what's tricky too.
[17:16] So maybe that might be a easier way in a, in some way that it'd make it possible.
[17:22] I know Cutler, how many years you've coached, if he could get the discount, the next year
[17:29] when he's coaching and any repeat coaches, that makes it aware you get repeat coaches and you
[17:37] give them a discount, but there's no can't be hidden refunds and all this and it really
[17:43] sounded to me like a few was abusing the policy and made it bad.
[17:50] Well, yeah, the only ones who knew about it were being advantageous, for sure.
[17:54] So what would that do, Randy, that wouldn't hurt us with it, because it would stay within
[17:59] the season.
[18:00] Yeah, so if those who go, oh, sorry, no, go ahead, then you're crossing different year
[18:09] But is that really a problem or is that just going to show it because it's in that same
[18:14] sport?
[18:15] And I'm asking, I don't know.
[18:16] If you're getting them a $15 discount the next year.
[18:19] Will they even remember to use it 12 months later?
[18:21] Well, I mean we have the list of the coaches from the year before so we know that and we could
[18:28] reach out to them as signups happen and then give them that code from the year before.
[18:33] or if you sign up, give us off.
[18:36] But the best way, oh, go ahead, Randy,
[18:39] what were you gonna say?
[18:40] I would double check and carry on this, to be honest.
[18:44] I would think that there would be a concern jumping ears.
[18:47] I would think you might have given that.
[18:50] That would make the best way for me.
[18:54] I'm just trying to figure out what you can't do today.
[18:58] Go check, go check, go check.
[18:59] If you like, go check them in my business
[19:01] business, your other learning app is a 15-bit app.
[19:05] But then here's my concern, because I like it.
[19:08] What if I have someone sign up who I have no intention of letting them coach?
[19:14] Does that make sense?
[19:14] Yes.
[19:15] And I don't want to sound hard.
[19:16] And you know, that's a foul effort.
[19:18] Everybody signs up says, now, yes, all coach, but then we only need 10 coaches, but there's
[19:23] 30 people to say they will do it.
[19:25] It's just, I don't know.
[19:26] You'll almost have to limit it to a head coach and two assistants.
[19:31] But even then like what they're saying is what if you have 10 people on the team that want to be that coach because their kid gets 50% off
[19:39] You can't do that either. That's when you get a one-time discount period, but so how do you choose that?
[19:45] Yes, yeah, they sign up early enough and 50 people say that coach that we only need 20 coaches, right?
[19:51] But you you're gonna know you're after year who your person is that you can depend on year after year after year and
[20:00] And when it says, oh, I'll help coach just to get the discount and then you never see him again and that's true
[20:06] too, but then if you only then we're in the boat we're in right now, right?
[20:10] You really have to forget it, right?
[20:11] I will say there's, there's, I have a list of soccer coaches, there's some of them I don't know.
[20:17] So it's hard to say like, I know most of them, but it's hard to say that I know to begin with who it's a little bit tricky that way.
[20:24] Yeah, yeah, maybe there's not a new one that's probably what I mean, I think it's gonna just be there's a lot of work to reward the coaches
[20:31] So if there's a motion I'll entertain a motion if not I think it from what it sounds like to me
[20:37] We just kind of need a table up. I don't tell some type of solution
[20:41] Come forth that we I guess do we all agree that I am going to now go on sports sites and remove the existing 50% off
[20:48] I would yes, okay, so that is
[20:51] That is an appropriate motion for business to happen, so if that's a motion, I will entertain it.
[20:57] I'll make the motion that we go to the website and remove that from the website, so there's no
[21:04] convenient period. Cancel the current promo code. Okay, now that's promo codes.
[21:10] So discussion really quick. So that's, do we have a second? Third, not yet.
[21:15] I'll second mode by coach Anderson seconder by Mayor Leatherwood. So now it's not discussion. Okay. So that's the agenda item is promo codes for coaches and
[21:25] Rector action kids. I think we can make the exception with the director absolutely. And I think we need to separate these two. Okay, I think that's a good idea. So it may require a new motion.
[21:37] No, because the motion was a substitute motion.
[21:41] Well, there is a promo code to make it free to direct directly to it, so there's a coach
[21:47] 51 and then there's one that makes it free.
[21:49] No, the original motion is still in order.
[21:51] Okay, so we amend the motion.
[21:54] Page.
[21:55] I'll amend the motion to say just for coaches, promo codes to remove promo codes for coaches
[22:00] on the website.
[22:01] And retain the promo code for direct directly to it.
[22:07] That motion has been moved by Mayor Lotherwood and seconded by a member of
[22:12] Francine. Thank you. Any more discussion on the motion?
[22:17] What does how are you doing from a free? Free.
[22:21] Yes. No, that's good clarification. Yes. No cost for participation for the
[22:47] I'm glad you guys got into it because nothing had ever been brought up before and it was
[22:56] are on in a month. Well, this is pretty clear cut. So I think we're good. Thank you.
[23:04] Yes. Thank you. Okay. Next item on the agenda is the banner fundraiser. Okay. I've had
[23:13] a flyer made. Um, Shelly Codwell donated it. She's really good to do a lot for the community
[23:18] that way. She's awesome. She's awesome. I've been advertising that on social media already.
[23:22] I have for this year 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 10 committed already to doing new banners.
[23:35] New banners not renewals? Correct, correct. 10 new ones. That's great.
[23:41] Most for three years, a couple for one year. So yeah, we'll have we have 10 new ones
[23:47] that we will be adding up to that outfilled. Seven of them have paid already.
[23:50] So yeah, seven of the 10 have paid already.
[23:53] So I need to follow up the last few.
[23:54] My question is, I guess, did we all want to like send it out?
[24:00] Do you want me to just keep advertising on social media?
[24:02] Should I start individually texting businesses?
[24:06] I would suggest you text businesses.
[24:09] Go down a list.
[24:10] And I wouldn't limit it just against a valley.
[24:13] Uh-huh.
[24:14] There's some saline, a man tie, a e-fram.
[24:17] I'd start getting surrounding, OK?
[24:19] It's a good play because the teams we play
[24:22] Herbinson's equipment is already bought one from E for own. It's her own to Kithin and that one
[24:27] He's already paid every day and we've sent him a lot of money
[24:36] Echelife has won for last year. Yeah, so Echelife's up. Yeah, you know, I don't know team robbers center definitely do it
[24:44] Yeah, I could reach out to the robbers
[24:47] be it some being cold or whatever there's times out there that would
[24:52] Pablo at the new lumber store would yeah oh I didn't think of him he's good
[24:58] so I probably need to get this done ASAP to get ordered yes in slanted yes in
[25:05] slanted yes so I probably need to get this done ASAP to get banners ordered in the
[25:09] very near future as Rex season games start yeah mid-April yeah then they're
[25:14] turn around I for they cost $119 I talked to my phone already their turn around was like two
[25:20] weeks last time so he does a good job with it so has anyone who has either donated to the
[25:29] rec department or done a banner asked about a tax exempt so they've run it off no good then I won't
[25:38] bring it up no one's asked that one question that I have been asked that I wanted kind of a board
[25:43] approval I guess on say somebody gets a banner for a year or three years
[25:48] whatever decides not to renew it do we just give them that banner or now that we
[25:52] own it do we sell it back to them I think they pretty much bought it if I think
[25:57] they pretty well bought it and I don't know why they would want it unless they
[26:01] wanted it hang I just had one person ask me so
[26:04] that didn't want to re up the one of the one that she said she it's an author from
[26:08] centerfield I don't know her she said she wanted to put a banner up for one
[26:11] year and then she wondered if she could have the matter after.
[26:14] I know, it's a councilman.
[26:15] Tell her you've got to have it for three years before you hold it.
[26:20] That's the hard thing is people have to plan to $20 this year and so we had only made $80
[26:26] off of it at that point.
[26:30] Just explained to her the cost of the material, the cost of the printing.
[26:34] It takes at least five years and after that.
[26:37] My only question on the situation like that is then okay, we give it back to him
[26:42] But then after two years they decided to do it again. We could have made
[26:47] $200 right off the bat and we didn't give it to him
[26:50] But then we'd have to buy another hundred and twenty dollar banner. Yeah, and see it's costing you more money
[26:55] So I'd explain it. It's gonna take at least three years of having the banner there before the cost is
[27:05] reading
[27:07] and he thought, so he ran. I just didn't know what to tell her.
[27:11] Right, no, that's it. Yeah, that's when you don't hit everything.
[27:14] I was kind of thinking, so if you, if we know your plan on it for one year,
[27:17] we barely make any money, you know, and then...
[27:20] You're not making any money for just a year.
[27:22] That's an appropriate decision for this board,
[27:24] whether to give them back or not.
[27:25] Yeah.
[27:26] So...
[27:27] I don't have a strong opinion either way.
[27:29] I guess I was curious and so it does, but...
[27:31] I could, I could see selling the back to them for half price.
[27:35] You can buy it back for $60 at cost of $120 or something like that, but when we're
[27:41] set off the three-year and amortize it that way, I think we just need to make a decision.
[27:48] I'd say it takes three years before the signs pay for the three-year cost is $500.
[27:56] You know, you get a figure your time and going out and doing all the stuff and you can't
[28:03] figure it just the exact material cost it takes about three years to pay for it.
[28:10] That was actually my original thought is you just hang on to it, put it in there, just
[28:16] say there are.
[28:17] Yeah.
[28:18] What we want to buy is the advertisement for you, but the sign is ours.
[28:23] Then I think that solves every problem actually.
[28:26] Okay.
[28:27] It was kind of a one-off.
[28:28] I doubt a lot of people asked me that.
[28:30] No, they won't.
[28:31] No, but it's good to have consistency.
[28:33] Uh-huh.
[28:33] Okay.
[28:34] Sounds good.
[28:36] I'll find on that.
[28:37] And then I can...
[28:37] Well, I think we should take action on it.
[28:39] Yeah.
[28:42] So, I'll make a motion that for a better fundraiser that we retain the better regardless of who
[28:49] purchase it, and for the amount of time.
[28:53] It's a appropriate motion made by Travis Leatherwood.
[28:55] I'll check in.
[28:56] Seconded by Coach Anderson.
[28:58] Any more discussion on the motion?
[28:59] I'll place the motion all in favor, say aye.
[29:03] All right.
[29:03] Any opposed?
[29:05] Motion passes unanimously.
[29:09] We're making progress.
[29:10] Great job.
[29:13] We're making progress.
[29:14] We're making machine approval and purchase.
[29:16] Okay.
[29:17] It's another one.
[29:17] So Tyson, I know showed you guys, as a new guys, I mean, the board last summer.
[29:25] I can't remember the month.
[29:25] Randy and Lacey had looked up the minutes.
[29:27] I'm in the fall.
[29:28] I was going to stay maybe August.
[29:30] Somewhere in there.
[29:33] It sounds like to me from I talked to Lacey in person in the office a week ago and if I'm remembering correctly it sounds like he talked about it kind of got approval that yes let's get the machine but then I don't know but it sounds like he never got approval on exact amount and I know he didn't order it. So nothing's been done. He brought some different material in and said this is kind of what we're looking for.
[30:00] And that, but never came back and said we're going to go do this. It was never, we had some discussion on the type. And one, if I remember, I, well, we could do with it. If it would do something on baseball. Yeah, that was sort of the discussion. I think you need a combination. So it'll do it for both. And that's what I was going with a proposal. Or do you need to? Well, the discussion we had last. That's what I wanted to propose actually is two machines that do both. So with the budget that we've currently had, we felt like we could give one.
[30:29] and then we wanted a budget for a second.
[30:32] Which I've for a lot of banners.
[30:34] Well, I'm selling enough banners that we've got to pay for.
[30:38] Okay, so then what we need to do is we need to clear that with Gary,
[30:42] so that we can say Gary, because he's going to say,
[30:44] where are we going to pull this from?
[30:45] Say, Gary, do we have enough to do it this way?
[30:47] And this is where we buy it through the banners.
[30:50] So he just needs to know and where to put it.
[30:52] And as a line item under what category if it's under fundraisers?
[30:58] And we bought it with that and that's finally just going to be able to give a shirt proposal.
[31:03] So my I just went to hold up and my cart refreshed and emptied itself out of course. I had it ready.
[31:10] I had it ready. So basically each machine was right around was at 1,530. It was 1,300. I'm sorry. I had this prepared everyone.
[31:20] So it sounds like we were planning to budget for the one and this would be for the boys coach pitch to move
[31:27] To machine pitch kind of following what travel baseball is doing right now. Those grades those first grade boys are
[31:34] playing
[31:35] Machine pitch and that was all brought up and then
[31:41] We kind of came in as REC director and I was like well wait. What about the girls? What are we doing for the girls?
[31:46] So then I've worked with Cutler too. We are also wanting to move girls over to
[31:50] machine. So that's where we are now proposing that we have two machines. I
[31:55] propose we maybe have two machines that do both because Jansson I've talked about
[32:00] maybe hosting some kind of softball tournament in the summer and Gunnison
[32:03] through the wreck if we could and it would be fun to have machines that could do a
[32:07] machine pitch league before the girls are big enough for the kid pitch league. So each
[32:13] machines about 1,300 and I had the exact number and now okay well I guess it's it's it's
[32:22] it's we would talk about it and we placed it there so I don't know how it didn't get
[32:25] even unless he was so this is the one that we unless we have to call it's not MVP combo that's the
[32:32] one that everybody's used yes yes coach richly the the reason why we would want to is because we're
[32:39] and baseball and softball this way, that way I can set up two fields one night at baseball,
[32:44] the next night I can set up two softball at the same time, 15.95 each and that's a wonderful thing.
[32:54] So it sounds like from what I'm understanding we were kind of planning on it for the boys,
[32:58] we're proposing we get a second machine and include the girls. And I think you're going to have more
[33:03] that enough money with your signs we have to pay for it. How many? I can show you right here.
[33:11] Let me keep a track of all of it. So as far as right now we've had one, two, three, four, five
[33:18] already paid a three-year one which is five hundred and five twenty-five. Cutler will buy a banner.
[33:25] All right. I'm not going to text him. I'm just going to take his money.
[33:31] Maybe one of your constructions will bite a man or okay.
[33:35] Why not?
[33:36] Right in the room.
[33:36] You're in the room.
[33:38] You're in the room.
[33:39] I have much out of them.
[33:41] 500.
[33:42] So are you looking.
[33:42] 500 for three year.
[33:44] Of all three years.
[33:45] Baseball box, baseball success really much with it.
[33:47] I am.
[33:47] Do you see it there?
[33:49] I don't see it there.
[33:49] I don't know that it's on that document.
[33:53] I don't really know that it is.
[33:54] It was just fine.
[33:55] So, do your brandy, Randi?
[33:56] I want to ask.
[33:57] I don't think it's there.
[34:00] What I've seen is we were going to open it a man to put it in there because he said we have the money to do it. Right.
[34:06] Mm-hmm. Is that right? We have it at 10,000 years. We have a contingency fund for capital improvements and I kind of find that one to tooth and toenail to where we're making a little money to your brother and spend it and everything we've got.
[34:25] So I think my my suggestion would be is what we take one from the fundraiser and then maybe one from that
[34:33] Capital Improvement because we have that idea there. Yeah, that also
[34:38] Leaves us a little bit of cash in case something or we don't anticipate
[34:43] That would draw just from that category
[34:46] That's a I just figure the banner fundraiser is to make money to make improvements
[34:50] So I just proposed we use that budget item of the 10,000 for capital improvements and part of that can be capital improvements and then we can take part from the fundraiser and
[35:03] and show. Yeah, I see that 10,000. We've got to be making money a little bit each year for certain things and you just never have enough money when you have it.
[35:19] that was already.
[35:22] Yeah so it was already put in the budget finding to pay for them but
[35:25] it wasn't being done. Is it there? Did you find it on the budget? Yeah he's she found it.
[35:30] No, not a improvement. Oh, no sorry we just sort of have a capital improvement. That capital
[35:35] improvements. That's there. Yep. That's there. That's there. That's there. We had a pretty
[35:40] We get this question about it.
[35:42] I guess yes.
[35:43] That's what I was hoping to present was to buy two machines,
[35:47] include the boys, include the girls,
[35:50] and hopefully, a tournament in the summer.
[35:51] I thought it would be fun for the girls
[35:53] if we can pull that off and be able to have two fields going.
[35:57] Or tournament, if we can have the moral kind of lack to get.
[36:00] Yes, yes.
[36:02] And then, yeah, if we could have two fields going on,
[36:05] just normal wreck, league nights,
[36:07] trying to get things moving.
[36:08] So anyways, I think there's money there.
[36:12] I think I'll make the motion that we approve the expenses
[36:16] using capital improvements and fundraisers
[36:20] to buy the two pitching machines.
[36:22] Oh, I'll second.
[36:24] 1590.
[36:24] So it's been moved, and I'm going to ask for amendment
[36:28] to the motion.
[36:30] It's been moved that we approved the purchase
[36:31] of two pitching machines, one for boys,
[36:33] baseball one for softball, for the, I don't know the age bracket.
[36:41] First and second grade, the way is a little bit older girls.
[36:45] You guys know what therefore it could be used.
[36:47] Yes, yes.
[36:48] So the amendment I would ask, you've seen the numbers.
[36:53] So I would propose that the motion be amended to approve enough money to cover those
[36:59] that we could give right now so that up to this dollar amount what I'm saying
[37:04] that doesn't go over that but gives the approval so we don't have to come back
[37:08] and that's a good idea. It makes sense. I think special balls for those sort of
[37:13] mean that. I think it uses normal soft balls and both sizes of soft balls.
[37:19] All sizes. Yeah. It says, sorry you can keep talking while I look. I think this is the
[37:24] discussion we need right now. So if it's $15.95 each it's $1600 there with your taxes which
[37:31] we should be any tax but yeah but it works with baseballs and 11 and 12 softballs
[37:38] a little and big so we're good there so you're looking at about $1600 you may need an extension
[37:43] cord right oh yeah something like that so we have to approve to pay for an extension
[37:50] court. We shouldn't have to. I don't think there should be an operating budget.
[37:54] So would that just be a miscellaneous? Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Okay. But I would I'd say let's put
[38:02] $3,200 to cover expenses for pitching machines. That doesn't give you any leeway. I'd say at
[38:08] least 36 because you're going to spend more. Well, are you all are you doing a setting a cap?
[38:13] Yeah. That's fair to make them purchase. Is that a so it just some extra balls? It'll
[38:19] get you some cord. I think it'll discover the tax is what I think you're trying to say. I think you're
[38:24] not. I don't think it covers anything else extra. I just want to make sure that you can make
[38:28] the purchase and we don't have to come back to the revisit. We probably also included the motion
[38:33] that one of those will come out of the.
[38:38] If that's the way you want to have it. That's the way you want
[38:41] to do it. I prefer that one. Okay. Okay. So do you want to I'll make the motion that we set aside
[38:49] money for two pitching machines, one coming out of capital improvements, the other coming
[38:55] out of Vanderfender agent, and not to exceed $3,600 combined.
[39:02] Okay.
[39:03] Does that do?
[39:03] That motion is in order.
[39:05] So substitute motion, coach's original motion been substituted by coach Anderson, is there
[39:11] a second?
[39:12] I'll say that.
[39:12] Seconded by Member Fransson.
[39:15] Any more discussion on the motion?
[39:16] All right, so we have the question.
[39:17] Seeing now, I'll place the motion, all in favor, say aye.
[39:19] Aye.
[39:20] Any opposed?
[39:22] Motion carries unanimously.
[39:24] All right.
[39:24] Oh, there's a order.
[39:26] Well, that's kind of lazy to get a order.
[39:28] I'll be doing it.
[39:29] It's exciting.
[39:30] Yeah, I'm excited.
[39:31] Thank you, everyone.
[39:31] That was a good thing for a program.
[39:33] It's good.
[39:34] So I appreciate it.
[39:35] Well, everybody's going to it.
[39:37] I've been trying to push it for some time.
[39:40] They didn't move.
[39:41] They wouldn't do too hard headed, I believe but anyway,
[39:44] this is a good one especially for the softball girls I think it's I think you
[39:51] will see a difference in there. Oh they'll hit the ball. I can't tell you
[39:55] everything is they now you're able to just can't niche quite yet yeah I think
[39:59] that's where you'll see. In Mike you watched how many softball games last year
[40:03] that age right would you agree with all of this out of curiosity? I was asked
[40:08] to earn the amount by somebody. I agree. Okay. It's a good move. I messaged you
[40:11] actually. I've been getting feedback from parents of girls. I don't have a daughter. I know what's
[40:18] working with the boys, but I'm trying to get feedback from parents of girls to make sure that
[40:22] they are happy with the move. And there's always I know we did it years ago when I was over that
[40:31] there's some oh my god the kids are going to get killed. There comes that ball. They're fine.
[40:36] Yeah, it's all right. Yeah, I know it works completely adjustable.
[40:40] They're fine. Yes. Okay. Okay.
[40:42] Income paper reimbursement.
[40:44] Okay, that was me. I feel so done even saying it.
[40:47] I have to print a ton of paper.
[40:49] Tyson was able to do this at the high school.
[40:52] I don't have a job that I can do it.
[40:54] I'm just using my own personal ink and paper at home.
[40:57] I don't know a number. I just wondered if there's any way I could get reimbursed for it.
[41:01] For example, you know, I'm already printing off rosters with shirt sizes
[41:05] and stuff for coaches. And then next week we start soccer games. I need to have a set of rules
[41:10] for each age group that plays on each field and you know a paper for them to fill out of who wins
[41:15] so I can keep track. And it's just coming out of my own printer at home. Right. It does I feel
[41:20] dumb and a little bit takey tacky, but what happened when you're a printer is worn down.
[41:26] Doing all of this. And it just the even the ink is fairly expensive. I don't think the papers
[41:30] is too bad, but I just wondered if there was, I think it's completely, we upped materials
[41:35] for Randy and you guys at centerfield city. Is there any way they could use a rim of
[41:43] paper, a couple of rims of paper, or should we just set an amount?
[41:47] I think just to keep things separate right now, let's set a separate amount, because that
[41:52] one was pretty calculated. And not that this is a big deal, but the more we start creeping
[41:58] that way. Sure. You know what I'm saying? I just think it's better to go. I don't have
[42:02] a problem with it. Yeah. So I may have a proposal. Okay. I'll just throw it out. But in
[42:10] our conversation with Gary, I wonder if we need to. And I'm not as familiar with the
[42:14] budget as I should be. But going through it, there may be some separate operational area in
[42:22] it that's not broken down by that's highly possible. But what I'm wondering is if we just
[42:27] need to work with Gary to set a line item for office supplies for our staff.
[42:33] So that would be all of our staff that could reimburse for office supplies set up an
[42:40] amount in the budget that's intended for that.
[42:44] And then I've never seen that we have a separate purchasing policy for this entity.
[42:51] So I assume we're using centerfields purchasing policy as you know.
[42:54] So what I would maybe recommend is that we follow centerfields purchasing policy.
[43:00] We put an amount in the budget identified as office supplies or something like that,
[43:05] and allow that purchasing policy to be used to reimburse materials.
[43:11] Not that it would need to be a lot of money.
[43:13] It would be, no, but it's not going to be, but it's still better coming out of your pocket.
[43:17] That's why I wanted to say this way.
[43:19] Yeah, yeah, we call it.
[43:20] The hard thing is that we don't have an office, so it's hard to separate home and
[43:24] Work in this case. Yeah, we do use it for personal stuff as well
[43:29] I know a lot of it is yeah, it might be more difficult for you
[43:32] But why not why not print everything one year in center field
[43:36] Everything one year in gannison still create the line out of the reimbursement gannison one year center field
[43:42] The next and then they use our equipment instead of their own home equipment
[43:45] They just don't know you had a printer for them a big is the only
[43:48] I'm just going to use your printer that you serve you yeah, you're absolutely what do you mean?
[43:52] No, I don't understand for me to go into the city. Yeah, yeah printed in each city or whatever
[43:57] I know that's difficult but like you know they've got this big printer in here that guy at prints tons of
[44:03] Papers or reversing ink and paper either or you're going to do it at your house. Yeah, no matter why
[44:11] or are you a buyer or a printer?
[44:13] Mm-hmm, that's an appropriate also.
[44:17] Mm-hmm.
[44:18] Well, so how much have you guys done so much?
[44:22] Would it warrant something, you know, as considering that?
[44:25] I mean, I'm printing off.
[44:28] Like I said, rosters, shirt sizes for coaches, rules,
[44:33] rule packets, yes.
[44:35] If I was to have a city printer, or, you know,
[44:38] what I'm saying a rec one I would probably use that instead of going to the
[44:41] copy station for the flyers that I take to the schools. I've been sending that to
[44:45] the copy station. Yeah, don't do that. Well, too much. Well, I wouldn't have been out
[44:50] of my own pocket if I did it. You know what I mean? So I charge it. So instead of me
[44:59] printing all those.
[45:00] With my own dying, because it's so many papers, I sent that to the compensation and build it to the city, which I felt like was fair. I hope everyone else feels it. We're just day to reimburse the city, which is easy. Well, it came out of the PO to soccer. By the way, just, yeah, because it was forced to build it to wreck. Exactly what you said. Like the soccer wants PO to soccer track, PO to track. That's and it's in my, I've got a list of all my expenses. Everything's covered. We're fine. The soccer is on track.
[45:29] Dr. Profit, almost $3,000, we're fine.
[45:32] The copy station didn't hurt that much.
[45:34] Run her in, more kills, locked out.
[45:37] Somebody shut that door, probably right there.
[45:40] I know it's a pain, but to send everything
[45:42] to the copy station, they bill us,
[45:45] and then we're able to take it out of each fund.
[45:47] That.
[45:48] And maybe you can negotiate a deal with the copy station
[45:51] to get an ongoing discount of grade
[45:54] because of how much you're going to be sending.
[45:56] I don't know.
[45:57] Yes.
[45:57] But there's also going to be incidental
[45:58] bringing in their halves. I don't think there's a way to get away from it. So all of these things
[46:03] are appropriate. If it's to the coffee station, do what you're doing and build it to be appropriate.
[46:07] Hi, Mark L. Thanks for being here. Hello, Mark L. No, I think that might be the cleanest right now.
[46:14] There's a paper trail. Well, yeah, but it does give it the support. And it goes right to the
[46:18] support. It's there for them to file on everything. It does add it a little bit of a cost and maybe
[46:24] for now, this way, it's how we figure out something else, because I think everything else.
[46:32] And I think that the conversation one is when you do the spires, you're printing off 500 paper pieces
[46:38] at a time and then they cut them up for you and stuff, the thing that we would be doing at our
[46:42] house is 10 papers at a time, but consistently over a couple of weeks, you know what I mean?
[46:48] So we're paying for the ease as well, right?
[46:51] Yes, I mean, yes, I think we start. So I send the packets and all that to the copy station just let them take care of it for me and then bill PO to soccer. Yes, but in the meantime, I still think it's appropriate that we reverse the cost of the first one. Yes.
[47:05] I have 100% agree. Do you have an idea of what to reimburse?
[47:10] Oh, and I don't need to get reimbursed for what I've done. I just thought it would add up to a lot of kind of never brought it up.
[47:15] I mean so far we've not spent a lot of money like we've we've gone to meetings and Spanish work and E from and honestly
[47:23] I've wrote when I would E from I wrote with Norsevere's Rep Director because she has a wreck truck instead and then when Jant's
[47:29] Road to Spanish for a key road with Manta's Rep Director because they get paid their mileage is up to save us
[47:35] You know, so we've been able to not spend money and reimburse
[47:39] Absolutely.
[47:40] Myelage and those costs, and I was told I needed to bring it to the board because I had asked
[47:48] her.
[47:48] I was the only director, you know, at the meeting by my own meals or gas or whatever, and
[47:53] I brought it up, but obviously it needs to be brought to the board, but I also don't want
[47:57] to sound like a turret either.
[47:59] So how do we, I guess we follow our purchasing policies on that, too, right?
[48:05] And for him and those things.
[48:07] Yeah.
[48:07] I was certainly entertained. I'm just trying to think in the past we've done things like where you just bring us to receive it
[48:12] We've probably got to do a podium
[48:14] For mills and then just a mile a dream verse, but I think we'll probably governmental at the government
[48:19] Yeah, this is a government whole thing. So I think everybody's the same. You know, we definitely want you
[48:25] Those meetings so you've got representation
[48:29] It will happen. I know
[48:31] Another individual what it's all so Jans missing his full-time job to go to meetings, you know
[48:36] So I for me, I was kind of like what kind of stinks to him to take off a day of work pay his own gas and his own food
[48:43] You know, but then I don't want to say any of that. I would say I would say I have to work. Yeah, he's on up to meetings
[48:48] But we rode with mantis. Did you pay for your own bill? No, they
[48:53] That one I pay for my own meal at my meeting
[48:56] Okay, well then you just need to put a date and submit
[48:59] You know
[49:01] We need to do it for D.M. and submit it to the city and get reimbursed to regular rate.
[49:08] And as much as I need to say, I would again follow if the body moves that we follow certain
[49:15] policies of centerfield city for the record.
[49:18] I think we should.
[49:19] Because we're contracting for the fiscal agent.
[49:22] I think we need to do that better.
[49:30] I don't know if anyone agrees with that, but I don't think that's going to be a motion.
[49:34] Just a clarification then.
[49:37] So we're saying all printing will then go through the conversation, then it will be PO.
[49:40] And then any mileage that you do, you just have to submit a mileage and where you went,
[49:50] just one day and all that stuff.
[49:52] to the city will give you the mileage reimbursement.
[49:55] And then if you know you're gonna have now, again,
[49:58] just, if there's a milk provided at the thing
[50:01] that you have at it.
[50:02] Of course.
[50:03] Yeah.
[50:04] And then, but if not, then we'll pay a per diem.
[50:07] And I don't know, we'll probably just go,
[50:08] I don't know what you guys pay,
[50:09] but we have a set payment, I don't even know what it is,
[50:12] but we'll just go, lunch is the one thing,
[50:15] did there's another, you know, per diem, so.
[50:18] And this won't be super often either, right?
[50:22] But you know what, it shouldn't be a worry at what it is.
[50:26] We shouldn't have to worry how am I going to pay for this, or this is clean cut.
[50:31] So is that, am I just clarifications, that's how I-
[50:33] I'm still curious about the miscellaneous expenses with paper used and the miscellaneous printing
[50:40] that still happens at their house with some ink, some paper, I'm being able to reimburse
[50:45] through the fiscal agent, filled to the rec department.
[50:49] And if I do most of it through the copy station, I have to print off a last minute thing here or there, I don't need to be it's okay.
[50:56] You know, I don't need to.
[50:57] Well, we're open to it.
[50:59] Do we want to, my only question would be, do we want to do it by sport because that's the sport it would come out?
[51:04] Or are we going to, like you said, make it general?
[51:06] No.
[51:07] Yeah, I'm open to either, but I think we've moved past that conversation to where you're at now.
[51:12] Okay, so it's just going to be a separate line item.
[51:15] No, just sport, I think.
[51:16] I thought it was where you were going.
[51:17] Well, that's, yeah, but we've had both conversations
[51:19] that I didn't know where you were going.
[51:21] I like where you're at.
[51:23] Okay.
[51:24] Well, I just think it also just, it shows it up.
[51:28] Well, but it shows where we're spending the money
[51:31] and what's required the most.
[51:34] So, Craig Smith and Ron, we already had a motion
[51:36] that we were going to follow,
[51:37] Senator Phil's purchasing policy for the record.
[51:39] So, this is just, I think the motion would be
[51:42] to reimburse costs according to center-filled cities,
[51:47] pretty him and my age, and other miscellaneous expenses
[51:51] built to the wreck board because they're a fiscal agent.
[51:54] Am I on track?
[51:55] You spot on.
[51:56] Sounds great.
[51:57] That motion was made by Trots Leatherwood.
[52:00] Second, then.
[52:01] Second by Coach Anderson.
[52:03] More discussion on the motion.
[52:05] Lacey, does that clean it up for you?
[52:09] I'm sorry.
[52:10] What did I say?
[52:11] Lacey, I'm sorry.
[52:12] I'm sorry, we've been talking about lazy, sorry, I was good, I was the other man, I was like, okay, do you have any suggestions, or are we?
[52:22] I was worth that face.
[52:23] God, thanks for getting here.
[52:25] Okay, thank you guys.
[52:27] I'll place that motion.
[52:29] All in favor say aye.
[52:30] Aye.
[52:31] Any opposed?
[52:32] Motion is unanimous.
[52:36] Thank you.
[52:37] Thanks for bringing it up.
[52:39] Does that mean we want a little broader but we covered but I don't think we went out
[52:43] of scope on for the agenda. You guys don't need enough of time. You shouldn't even.
[52:49] You're not a charter. You're not a charter thank you Mike. You feel done bringing up things
[52:54] like this. I was dreading that one. I should make a chance at that.
[52:58] I appreciate the conversation.
[53:03] Okay. Report by board member so conversation time there's
[53:08] no action item on this, because it wasn't a genders action, so go genders.
[53:14] I think we're good. We have a pretty good meeting. Let's move forward.
[53:18] Okay.
[53:19] It was a great meeting. Yeah.
[53:22] We've got a lot out of this.
[53:24] You've got to bring treats next week or next month.
[53:27] I could really have a lot.
[53:28] Okay.
[53:29] I was at the ball field today and the crow's nest is hopping.
[53:33] They are doing a lot of work here.
[53:34] I guess maybe that was already discussed, but it looks it's coming along. We went and cleaned out all the wreck stuff on the bottom a couple of days ago and checked in on that we had crap everywhere, sorry.
[53:50] And then I guess another update if anyone cares, Jance built, I don't know if you guys even know, the high school built two new kind of storage units and we get half of one of them.
[53:59] and the high school paid for that, but Jans put up shelving around all of it so that we can
[54:06] on the back of the school. On the back of the school they tore down all the old bleachers and
[54:10] old jeans, they're redoing the old gym with the high school and I used all the lumber from
[54:15] from those in and bills shelves throughout the. That's wonderful. Thank you. So we'll have some more space
[54:24] We have more stuff on these.
[54:27] Taken up with a tank of football.
[54:30] Yeah, but these pitching machines have a new pitching machines.
[54:35] We'll have a nice dry and dry clean.
[54:40] And that's wonderful.
[54:41] Because the crow is nest is not a good place to put that because you don't have any control over it.
[54:46] No, people use it.
[54:48] And all the ones we bought as the wrecked years ago were destroyed.
[54:54] And they all season in the closeness, they were a lot more, but I didn't think so.
[54:59] I talked to his softball coaches and I was like, does the record need to help you get
[55:03] your batting cages up or what do you need with that? They're like, oh no, no, we're getting on it.
[55:07] So I just rattled up acting like we would help if they needed it.
[55:10] But they know it's there and they have everything they need.
[55:13] We'll just see if they put it out. That's all.
[55:16] Good. You may not have any answers, but it was a question to ask earlier,
[55:24] I'm glad you guys know what I mean when I think I'm going to, I'm going to reach out to, I'm going to deal with that.
[55:31] Thank you.
[55:32] I'll put that on my to-do list.
[55:34] You're awesome.
[55:35] Appreciate you being here.
[55:36] Thank you.
[55:39] Hello.
[55:41] Not to mention anything.
[55:43] I appreciate you.
[55:44] You're involved.
[55:45] Thank you.
[55:46] You did a lot of behind-the-scenes with the girls getting input from parents, so he's not nothing.
[55:50] Ben, he's been there because you're not, you're not nothing.
[55:53] And he's, he's coach and soccer, he's ready to roll.
[55:56] Yeah.
[55:57] Right.
[55:59] No one will just follow up with Jonah then on those bases.
[56:02] I guess you'll reach out to him.
[56:04] Yeah, so I'll talk to Jonah about that.
[56:07] And is there anything else anybody has
[56:09] for centerfield for us to do?
[56:11] That way, we'll get you a copy of our purchasing policies.
[56:15] Randy, could you help with that?
[56:17] Thank you.
[56:17] I think that's unless you have some mouth for us to do.
[56:22] You're awesome.
[56:23] Okay.
[56:23] Thank you.
[56:25] Let you.
[56:27] Mm-hmm.
[56:28] We're great.
[56:29] Thank you.
[56:29] I moved to adjourn.
[56:30] Oh.
[56:31] A motion is out of order.
[56:33] You're not entertained at this yet.
[56:36] He's at Jeff Armack.
[56:37] I don't know where we were.
[56:38] So a motion to adjourn when it's appropriate is a non-debitable motion.
[56:42] It requires immediate question.
[56:44] I'm not going to hold that question.
[56:45] So I find that motion out of order.
[56:47] I'm going to hold it.
[56:49] So I can just go along with the ball fields that have been working on a crow's nest and
[56:56] they're possibly are going to get water turned into the end of this week.
[56:59] We'll see if that happens or not, but Sherry is going to have ice delivered at the end of
[57:04] this week and coax was to become one so that we should be rocking a roll on the first
[57:11] of high school season this year.
[57:12] The ice machine was still running because I parked right by as the other day on the
[57:17] aircraft.
[57:18] So they were the open light last year putting it to her and fixing it right away.
[57:26] Andy Cox put a new lock on the door there and I've got a new key for Sherry and I have
[57:34] one key for myself so we'll have two keys but it should be a little bit more secure and
[57:42] a little easier lock to get in there. I couldn't leave a little bit of a pain, but he is also
[57:48] putting in a little baseboard heater underneath the sink area. So what the conclusion that
[57:58] me and Andy came to is I was grateful he was putting that in so I am going to, I'm going
[58:04] to enclose the bottom of that area. So we're not heating the whole room because it's not
[58:09] insulated, there's gaps, there's things like that. I'm just going to enclose the bottom of that
[58:16] the counter space basically made in the bottom gap. So and that's all the water that's in that
[58:22] room. So it'll keep those pipes warm and we shouldn't have any problems with freezing.
[58:30] Now there are little baseboard heaters in each of the restrooms and in that storage area in the
[58:37] the crow's nest and then over is that in the compression stand?
[58:41] Is that with the idea that we turned the water on earlier?
[58:43] Yes.
[58:44] A lot of be wonderful.
[58:45] Correct.
[58:46] So we shouldn't have to fight this in years to come.
[58:49] I mean water shouldn't be a problem we can go as long as we want or as early as we want
[58:54] because it should all be heated now.
[58:56] It should all be heated and it's not constant in that much of my head.
[59:00] It's a real positive thing.
[59:02] 80A-wise they need to really do that.
[59:05] See, those 80A laws have come in and there was some real upset people when I was out there
[59:11] cleaning things up last spring and it come for softball and no restrooms and people had
[59:18] leave and I surprised a lot of them came back because they want to see their grandkids
[59:23] or whoever play, but it was a pretty hostile situation.
[59:29] There are a lot of unhappy people.
[59:34] Thank you.
[59:36] Thank you.
[59:36] Great work.
[59:37] Appreciate you guys both.
[59:39] You guys are awesome.
[59:41] Anything else?
[59:42] No.
[59:43] Okay.
[59:43] For me, Randy, any comments or anything we can help clarify for you
[59:53] appreciate your help. Thank you. Mayor Warner, thanks for being here with us. Can you come
[59:58] I'll just...
[1:00:00] Thanks for all you do, and thanks for, you know, you guys taking on this position. I think you'll be a great job. You're already solving problems at the head of last year. Now, I won't have this year, so I was going to be doing good. It looks like it's a well-oiled machine, so thank you.
[1:00:21] We haven't had any ball games yet with us in the hell, so we'll see you next time.
[1:00:26] We'll make some mistakes along the way.
[1:00:29] We'll make a mistake next Monday.
[1:00:31] Make sure to start soccer.
[1:00:33] Just the...
[1:00:35] The what?
[1:00:36] The bike.
[1:00:37] The bike.
[1:00:38] That will be our main concern of the year.
[1:00:41] Thank you.
[1:00:41] I've got a couple of things that it's more housekeeping.
[1:00:44] anything else. First thank you guys all of you for being here but really thank
[1:00:47] you to Jensen for all the work you guys are doing. She's done most of it.
[1:00:51] Yes, thank you. Oh, okay, it's real great. Thank you.
[1:00:54] I'm doing a good job. Randy's going to help us schedule our budget hearing process.
[1:00:59] Is that right? Budget hearing process. So yeah, I misunderstood.
[1:01:04] I am. It's going to be... I will coordinate with you. I will work with you
[1:01:09] and we'll get together.
[1:01:11] The one thing I would ask is Gary's gonna need
[1:01:15] some feedback from you guys, so we have,
[1:01:19] is he wanting to come here with the new budget?
[1:01:21] We'll need to meet kind of on his schedule if we can.
[1:01:24] So a time easy, they're in Gottersunders Center.
[1:01:26] Great, great.
[1:01:27] The budget goes from what month, what month is it June?
[1:01:30] To do the preliminary budget.
[1:01:31] First of March, you know,
[1:01:33] to go from first to July to the first to July.
[1:01:36] That's your budget, budget.
[1:01:37] But your preliminary budget, we should start looking at the budget right now.
[1:01:41] We may be past the tentative budget in July.
[1:01:45] We accept it and we start doing it first.
[1:01:48] People have to pass it in June.
[1:01:50] Yeah, that's right.
[1:01:50] It's passing June.
[1:01:52] And it starts in July.
[1:01:53] So we need to get going on it.
[1:01:55] Yes.
[1:01:56] We will have to have a public hearing.
[1:01:58] So this reading will be, and that's to the public.
[1:02:01] And that's where I think Randy's been a little confused because in the past,
[1:02:04] That public hearing has been done in centerfield, which is a great venue where they give us the finances of it
[1:02:10] So I but I do agree it would I think it's a good idea to have everything done. Yes here as well because this represents the board itself
[1:02:20] We can do that. So I need to ask another clarify question
[1:02:22] Are you saying that you did it as part of centerfields? We would do it as separate. Yeah, it'd be part of some like meaning
[1:02:28] but it'd be separate from our separate.
[1:02:31] Thank you.
[1:02:31] Thank you.
[1:02:32] Thank you.
[1:02:33] Okay.
[1:02:34] So, another, I've been questioned a little bit about,
[1:02:40] because the wreck board is a separate entity,
[1:02:44] and we are funded by the arts,
[1:02:46] parks, and recreation tax.
[1:02:49] It's a sales tax, one tenth of one percent.
[1:02:53] So, from the three participating communities.
[1:02:56] And so I've been asked a little bit about what we're going to do for arts, art in the community, which is an appropriate question.
[1:03:07] Yeah.
[1:03:08] So I'm going to read section one, I'm going to read article one, section two of our creating document, which is the interlocal agreement that created this entity.
[1:03:19] And it says the purpose, the purpose of the compact, which is this agreement, meaning
[1:03:24] the board, the purpose of this compact is to develop and manage recreational programs
[1:03:28] within the communities.
[1:03:30] So it specifically is recreational programs.
[1:03:33] So we're on track, but it's a question we're going to get and so we probably ought to just
[1:03:38] have it in our minds whether we're going to dedicate some portion of this if we're able
[1:03:43] to to arts, parts were certainly involved in when you consider what we're doing for
[1:03:49] infrastructure and where we play at those things. But I'll leave it at that so we'll just
[1:03:59] have it in our mind and see what direction we go with that. If we do decide to do something
[1:04:05] that we're going to support arts, it's not in the compact specifically. I think it still
[1:04:09] fits because the way we're funded, but I would say that if we go down that road, we
[1:04:16] give it quite a bit of thought ahead of time and develop what those standards are going
[1:04:20] to be and what those requests would look like and how we handle it.
[1:04:22] You know, a couple of things that we've done and we have put it in and we did last year
[1:04:26] as well.
[1:04:28] We did donate, it was a $500, it went to a star theater for some of their improvements.
[1:04:39] And that, and we've done that the last few years.
[1:04:42] Now, this clarification there, we did because of what they were doing there.
[1:04:46] It was too, it wasn't to them as a casino star, anything.
[1:04:52] It was the program that they were presenting, right?
[1:04:54] It was, no, it was to the casino star, and that was part of the arts that that represented
[1:05:01] the arts of the whole valley, and that was our donation to the arts of the whole valley.
[1:05:06] But it was with the she mentioned specifically a thing that we said, okay, because you're doing this, we can donate with that intent.
[1:05:14] Was it to a specific entity for the entity to use it, rail?
[1:05:20] I'm just clarifying.
[1:05:21] It was in support of the yard.
[1:05:24] So anytime a government entity which this body is a separate entity, this is a political subdivision to the top.
[1:05:30] state, anytime we use these tax monies that has to go to enriching the community.
[1:05:38] So really members of the community.
[1:05:40] And so everything that we do in tax dollars has to be to that end.
[1:05:43] And so I'm saying is if we are going to make those kind of donations or we're going
[1:05:47] to look at doing something for the arts and not just the rep program, we ought to come up
[1:05:52] with some guidelines of what that looks like, how someone might apply for it, what we
[1:05:57] would do annually, settle in it.
[1:05:59] And all those kinds of things.
[1:06:00] And so if we're going to look that way,
[1:06:03] it's going to take some time and effort.
[1:06:05] And I'm happy to help with that, but if we're not,
[1:06:09] we refer people back to Article 1, Section 2,
[1:06:13] of our creating dialogue.
[1:06:14] I agree with you.
[1:06:15] We're going to develop a managed recreational program.
[1:06:19] Another thing we have done is I've had discussion
[1:06:25] with Mark Lyons and tried to give him the lead in trying to develop a community theater.
[1:06:37] And that would be part of promoting the arts in Gunnison Valley and having a community theater,
[1:06:45] and have them put on a play once a year.
[1:06:49] Which would be appropriate if we decided ahead of time how we were going to use
[1:06:54] a portion of funds for you so and I say right now we don't have tons of funds but like
[1:07:01] anything else you do the banners you do whatever else to raise money but it could be done
[1:07:07] through this wreck could be towards the orchard so I do think we have enough interest in the
[1:07:14] community that we probably pursue this okay would be my there's there's some but not a ton
[1:07:20] I think you'd be pleasantly surprised if you guys are interested in doing more.
[1:07:27] I would be willing to help kind of ramp up some ideas.
[1:07:30] I got a music for the work in my house, so I'm really excited about things.
[1:07:34] I'm happy to work on those things as well. I just wanted to just throw that out.
[1:07:38] I know we barely even had a line item budget for arts, really, realistically, until year 2 ago.
[1:07:46] That's when we got on.
[1:07:47] So we finally actually got a line, like a budget line.
[1:07:50] So I think that's what we are progressing.
[1:07:53] Sure.
[1:07:53] We need to have something in mind to spend that money
[1:07:56] from the policy or in the first year.
[1:07:58] Yeah.
[1:07:59] No, I think we should probably go around,
[1:08:02] but I'm in favor.
[1:08:03] OK.
[1:08:04] Yeah.
[1:08:05] All right.
[1:08:06] Well, we know Gunnison City is working on that same similar
[1:08:10] policy right now for the same kind of reason.
[1:08:13] We can share that with you guys.
[1:08:14] and you can, you know, go from there.
[1:08:17] So is that Gunnison City putting one in their budget
[1:08:20] for the city?
[1:08:21] Well, we're just, we're just,
[1:08:22] we've been having similar requests,
[1:08:25] you know, for donations, not just for,
[1:08:28] for arts.
[1:08:29] Kind of things you see in Santa Fe too.
[1:08:31] But we're setting out real lives to all those people.
[1:08:33] Well, you get requests hammered by every column.
[1:08:35] So we're trying to set it up to where it's just,
[1:08:37] here as well.
[1:08:39] We're just giving out money and we want to set it up.
[1:08:41] So they meet certain parameters and guidelines to give it
[1:08:45] not just a blank check and that's exactly right might look different here
[1:08:50] but you're trying not to let every willy-nilly person come in and just get
[1:08:54] money you know right you want to set some standards correct okay well in the
[1:09:00] squeaky wheel oftentimes in the past and we've made very healthy donations that we
[1:09:07] And all that's what I've got is yeah, I'm just if we're going to do that we've probably
[1:09:12] out of have some fourth thought I'm very but so right before we do this budget to
[1:09:16] especially right yes very much so okay so just run it out because the squeak is
[1:09:22] squeal you're thinking you know who it is like yeah your family's got more
[1:09:27] money than they should have ever got and that's okay we'll move forward right but if
[1:09:33] If something does bid in an arts category and does promote the wealth of the entire community
[1:09:39] or any of the three communities, it may be appropriate for us to look at that, but we
[1:09:43] ought to have a process.
[1:09:44] It should be looked at.
[1:09:46] And we need to cover our bases before we get our backs out.
[1:09:50] Yeah.
[1:09:51] That's all I have.
[1:09:53] Now it's your time to fly.
[1:09:56] Oh, no.
[1:09:57] Just our next meeting then April from 10th.
[1:09:59] Okay, so I just wanted to show her all on the same page
[1:10:02] works for me
[1:10:07] Randy's S on right to you
[1:10:08] Yep, second Monday
[1:10:11] Second Monday, second Monday
[1:10:12] Second Monday
[1:10:13] I don't know, okay, do we know why cats lie here?
[1:10:17] She said she was coming home
[1:10:21] Okay, that was all the other thing I wanted to know
[1:10:23] We were the 13's in
[1:10:24] Any final comments?
[1:10:27] Okay, I would entertain a motion
[1:10:29] I would like to motion
[1:10:33] Thank you second it's moved by Mark L. Second by Travis that we adjourn there can be discussion on the motion but no debate
[1:10:42] I'll call the question all in favor say I
[1:10:46] Care's unanimously and you bring treats next month
[1:10:54] maybe that's why she's not coming, she won't appreciate her help, she won't bring Pepsi
[1:10:57] Bring that to you.
