[6:28]
» [applause]
[6:55]
» Okay, now that the oaths of office are
complete,
[6:58]
um, as township manager, I'll offer a
few brief remarks. Um, I want to talk
[7:03]
about trust in public service. Um, it
comes down to doing the little things
[7:08]
that we say we're going to do and doing
them when we say we're going to do them.
[7:12]
At the local level, we believe
predictability is a public service. In
[7:17]
2025, Hford Township adopted its budget
on time. We reached a successful
[7:23]
collective bargaining agreement and we
did so with a uh modest and responsible
[7:28]
tax increase grounded in long-term
planning. It reflects a strong
[7:33]
partnership. The board of commissioners
sets the policy and direction and the
[7:39]
manager and the staff over here.
We carry out that direction efficiently
[7:45]
and transparently.
I want to thank our staff for turning
[7:49]
policy into service every day.
Local government is also unique. It's
[7:56]
the only level where residents can truly
reach out and touch us. It's that
[8:00]
closeness that creates accountability.
It keeps us focused on results.
[8:05]
Do we always get it right? No. But we
listen to our residents. We adjust and
[8:11]
we keep moving forward.
It's not about Rs and D's. It's about
[8:16]
delivering the services residents expect
in the most cost-effective way possible.
[8:22]
With that, with that, let's reorganize
and we're going to get back to work. And
[8:27]
so, we'll now accept nominations for
president of the board of commissioners
[8:30]
for calendar year 2026.
>> Mr. Township Manager,
[8:34]
» Commissioner Holmes.
>> Uh, Mr. Township Manager, I move to
[8:37]

[8:41]

[8:49]
» Are there any other nominations?
>> Motion to close.
[8:52]
» Motion to close. Is there a second?
>> Second.
[8:55]
» All in favor?
>> I.
[8:58]
» All right, we'll call the question
by roll call.

[9:09]

colleagues for their continued support
[10:30]
and confidence in allowing me to serve
as your president for another term. It's
[10:35]
truly an honor and I don't take it
lightly. Um, and I'm looking forward to
[10:39]
another productive year ahead. With
that, I will now accept or entertain a
[10:45]
motion for vice president.
[10:49]

exhausts our appointments for the
evening. I'd like to just open the floor
[41:14]
to my colleagues if anyone would like to
offer any final remarks this evening. I
[41:18]
would just like to thank everybody that
applied for these uh spots. As we all
[41:23]
say every year, this is a tough one
because we have to say no to friends and
[41:28]
people who do a lot for this uh uh
community. So, I just urge everyone who
[41:33]
applied just to continue to apply and um
thanks for thanks for everything that
[41:38]
you've done for the community and please
stay involved.
[41:42]
» Thank you, Commissioner Quinn. any
>> just briefly say congratulations to all

[42:02]
President, I would also like to thank my
colleagues for, um, the, um, excellent
[42:07]
and meaningful participation this
December and very busy schedules, um,
[42:11]
for all the interviewing we did for the
boards and commissions. The, um,
[42:14]
candidates were all excellent um, as was
the reviewing panel, and I just want to
[42:20]
appreciate everybody's efforts to do
that. I I'm older than everybody on this
[42:23]
board, both in commissioner years and
your years, and um, uh, told you.
[42:30]
» I guess he's got me beat on year years.
Yeah. But uh in terms of commissioner
[42:34]
years, um the process we go through now
is um is really impressive and
[42:39]
transparent and um and a lot of thought
um goes into um these appointments. Um
[42:45]
and um and I appreciate the amount of
attention um that my colleagues put into
[42:52]
this um in what is frankly the busiest
time of the year.
[42:57]
» Thank you, Commissioner Holmes. Any
final remarks from anyone else? And
[43:01]
hearing none, I'll entertain a motion to
adjurnn.
[43:03]
» Move to meeting
>> is adjourned. Thank you.
