[0:55] Homer Glenn's big tree champion contest winners of 2026.

[0:59] This year, we've added a brand new competition category for kids and teens,

[1:04] and we'll be adding one new tree species to our big tree champion list. This is

[1:08] an important award that recognizes the need to appreciate and protect the

[1:12] natural environment within the village of Homer Glenn. Champion trees are

[1:16] individual are individual trees which are exceptional examples of their

[1:20] species because of their size, age or rarity.

[1:25] Through the efforts of the environment committee, the village created the big

[1:28] tree champion contest in 2018. This award recognizes citizens that have

[1:33] helped to identify and preserve the biggest of our mature trees in the

[1:37] village. Tonight, we'll be recognizing five trees among four recipients for

[1:42] this year's big tree champion contest. Um during the award presentation, Mayor

[1:46] Christina Nitsky Troki will present the award certificates to the recipients.

[1:51] Pictures will be taken once you're up here and um we'll share these photos on

[1:56] social media and emailed you guys after. Um so if we can have the mayor, Trusty

[2:47] eastern cottonwood trees in his backyard, each with a circumference of

[2:52] 156. inches.

[2:56] These these trees also tie as winners to our overall big tree contest, having

[3:02] surpassed the previous 138 inch big uh Eastern Cottonwood big tree. Round of

[3:09] applause for Bryce.

[3:38] Jesse, at only 2 years old, has helped identify a silver maple tree with a

[3:43] circumference of 145 in. This mighty tree comes just short of our overall

[5:41] tree with their circumference measurement of 160 in. This tree is

[5:46] technically a runner up to our 182in champion swamp white oak. Both huge

[5:51] trees. Um, but our committee has found this major heritage tree to be worthy of

[5:56] recognition. Jason was not able to make it, but we'll give a round of applause.

[8:24] years. My purpose tonight is to request help from this board because I've had

[8:30] nothing but issues with major traffic problems on Parker Road. My next door

[8:36] neighbor Rob is here. He dealt with the police last year. Christine, I I I first

[8:42] contacted you about this problem back on June 11th. You sent the police to the

[8:48] wrong part of town. 42nd and Parker, you apologized for that mistake. You told me

[8:54] you were going to fix this problem. Since then, we've had tons of emails. 76

[9:00] people like Brent Woods, Lieutenant Piaza, 722, Kurt Mason, Joseph Barbara,

[9:07] I don't know who these people are, but they were copied on the emails going

[9:11] back and forth to you and me. Then I went on vacation at 7:30 to 8:15.

[9:18] I came back. I sent an email on 8:20 to you, Christine. You did not respond. I

[9:23] sent a second email two days later. You did not respond. The third day or the

[9:29] the third thing I did the next day is I called the village. I left a phone mail

[9:34] uh message for you because I asked if you were on vacation, why you were not

[9:38] responding. And I want to talk about this traffic problem that's been going

[9:44] on for years. Rob last year had the police there. They

[9:49] couldn't sit in the driveway for 5 minutes without veering off and giving

[9:53] somebody a ticket. It's gotten worse. And I don't have to talk about the curve

[9:58] on the end of the road there. Just this the first curve north of Chicago,

[10:02] Bloomington where we've had fatalities. There was a car in the ditch there

[10:07] Monday morning. Don't know what happened to him, but he was in the ditch all

[10:11] smashed up. There is no patrols, no help. whatsoever from the police. And I

[10:17] volunteered three driveways for you to sit in. Mine, Robs, and the next door

[10:22] neighbor across from him have all volunteered this information. And I've

[10:27] given this information to you, but you don't respond.

[11:20] Woods, uh and with the environment committee. Uh efforts to create an

[11:25] effective tree ordinance is really about protecting uh part of what makes Homer

[11:30] Glenn unique. It's a more natural wooded community setting. Uh we've seen over

[11:34] the last 20 years uh a number of folks moving into the area that don't really

[11:40] share our community and nature uh in harmony uh value. Uh we're living in an

[11:46] era house flippers. The old tree ordinance simply was ineffective. The

[11:51] damage has been significant. I can testify to it in Dborah Woods and how

[11:56] it's changed the shape of our neighborhood, but also uh in Hidden Cove

[12:01] where there was a bloodbath of heritage trees and the development of that uh of

[12:05] those lots. Uh protecting trees adds real value to our community and improves

[12:11] property values. I won't go down the list of the dozen things that trees do.

[12:15] We we've gone over that before, but the revision to the current tree ordinance

[12:20] um should provide some very important tools, updated tools to help maintain

[12:27] Homer Glenn's character. Um and uh this tree, it especially does so in its

[12:34] emphasis to protect heritage trees and uh on an emphasis of tree replanting

[12:40] rather than restitution. The tree ordinance is an opportunity to encouode

[12:45] these values into the future of the village. And by focusing your attention

[12:50] on this over the last two years, the mayor and our trustees have made

[12:55] protecting the character of our community a priority in a way that your

[13:00] predecessors have not. It takes courage as well as foresight and I speak on

[13:06] behalf of the entire environment committee on that. Thank you very much

[13:09] for that courage and foresight. We thank you for that and uh uh in prioritizing

[13:15] this effort and uh bringing an effective tree ordinance to the village of Homer

[13:21] Glenn to help maintain its character into the future. And you can make a

[13:25] powerful difference tonight by uh by accepting the changes and passing this

[13:30] ordinance. Thank you very much. >> Thank you.

[13:56] events I'd like to mention. This Saturday, we have our 5K run and walk

[14:00] event. To remember, the uh 911 event. Uh there's still room to register. Just

[14:07] visit our website. The uh behavioral health and addiction

[14:12] recovery committee is starting a monthly mom's group meeting here on Thursday,

[14:18] the third Thursday of the month from 11 to 12. Just introductions and um place

[14:24] where local moms and and some of the licensed professionals from my committee

[14:28] can come together for warm supportive space to connect, share, and uh just

[14:33] discuss um their lives, I guess. Um, also I'd like to remind everybody this

[14:39] Saturday I'll be at the the village will be at the senior life expo over at the

[14:44] junior high um put on by the township. That concludes my report.

[14:59] Homer Fest on behalf of the Homer Fest committee. Uh it's really not much

[15:02] there. There's was no meeting this month. Right now we are currently uh

[15:06] trying to find a new date to have uh the meeting on to adjust for schedules of

[15:11] some new appointees. And that concludes my report.

[15:19] » Yes ma'am. Thank you. On September 2nd the uh safety and public services

[15:23] committee uh held their annics that came up was uh heroes trail. I

[15:30] think uh this board has talked about that as well. um the mile markers. Um

[15:35] the we we we batted it around with the uh fire and the police department. Um at

[15:41] the entry points maybe on the south, the north, the middle access points, we

[15:46] should probably try to start looking at getting uh some sort of signage. And I

[15:50] think uh the original signage over the years has been uh either deteriorated or

[15:55] beat up or stolen. But uh bottom line, we were thinking of painting the ground

[16:00] so we could have emergency access um or have access and know where to go on

[16:06] Heroes Trail in case of an incident. Um so that was one of the things we talked

[16:12] about. The other thing is we've had a lot of uh breakins at uh some of the

[16:16] restaurants and uh bars in the area. Anybody with gaming, we have um had uh

[16:22] people uh from Alarm Illinois come to our meetings. Um they've started

[16:28] initiating the fogers. Uh the fogers do work. Um they detour. You end up with a

[16:34] broken window, a broken door. Um the asalants are usually uh in and out by

[16:40] the time the fogger goes off. They're disoriented. Uh they take off uh

[16:44] immediately. Um of course they're in a stolen car or something. But we've had a

[16:50] few of those breakins, but uh the damage used to be in the hundreds of thousands

[16:53] when you start smashing the machines and um cash grab and and take off. Well,

[17:00] right now they get into those areas and they get detoured and um they don't tend

[17:06] to come back. Tinley Park has reported a significant drop since they started

[17:10] implementing them and more and more of the businesses in Homer Glenn are doing

[17:14] the same. to the uh gentleman that uh came in front of uh the podium. We do

[17:20] have a traffic study. We discussed that at our meeting as well. Um we have new

[17:25] technology that we purchased last year that helps us gives us instant data. Um

[17:31] it's satellite and um we did a study on Parker Road. My father-in-law actually

[17:36] lives on that Scurve that you discussed. Um I'm over there all the time. It seems

[17:43] like people are going faster than they actually are. The speed limit in that

[17:47] area is 30 m an hour. The average speed and um we've also had uh Will County

[17:54] Sheriff's Police out there has been plus 5 m an hour. The

[17:59] 50 percentile is 5 miles an hour above. So, are they speeding? They are. They're

[18:05] speeding, but it's not excessive. The 85 percentile is about 7 milesi above. So

[18:14] yes, there's speeding and there's variations in the speed throughout

[18:17] Parker Road. That's a long stretch of road. When I uh read through the report

[18:21] and we went over this with uh Mr. Woods and myself and I'm Kurt Mason, trustee

[18:25] by the way. Um we've been discussing this for some time. We had to get the

[18:29] studies um all together. Um the average annual d traffic in that area remains

[18:35] stable between 3,400 cars a day and 4,000 vehicles

[18:40] uh indicating a consistent volume of tracker uh traffic on Parker Road. The

[18:45] stability in the traffic volume combined with the observed speed variations

[18:50] suggests that while the overall number of vehicles remain constant, the flow

[18:54] and the speed can change significantly and can be um impacted by external

[19:01] factors such as time of day, road conditions and other incidents. In

[19:05] summary, the data indicates that there is a consistent pattern of speeding 5 to

[19:09] 7 m an hour over. Um, and there is congestion throughout the scurve

[19:16] depending on when and uh the average speeds exceed the limit that are

[19:20] actually posted as stated. Um, we went over this. I talked to Lieutenant Piaza.

[19:28] I talked to Director Woods about it. We have had some um uh traffic uh units out

[19:34] there monitoring periodically. Um we get concerns in other areas because I

[19:39] actually have another one here. Meadowrest was another one. Their speed

[19:43] limit is 25 m an hour and um their average speed is 25 miles

[19:50] an hour. The 50 percentile is 25 miles an hour. The 85% tile is 3 miles an hour

[19:58] over in Meadowrest and the 95 percentile is 4 miles over. So I, you know, I went

[20:04] out there with Mr. Woods in a couple different areas and we stood there with

[20:08] some of the concerned residents and we myself, the residents stood on the curb

[20:14] side and we all tried to guesstimate how fast somebody was going and we had Mr.

[20:19] Woods drive down the street. I guessed he was going 30. Somebody guessed he was

[20:24] going 32. So, we all took guesses at it and we figured um when he came around,

[20:30] we asked the question, how fast was he actually going? What did he what was he

[20:34] doing? He was doing 26 mph. So, the perception sometimes from the ground or

[20:43] standing is that somebody's going much faster than they are. But we have had

[20:47] people in that area and we have done the traffic studies and yes they are

[20:52] speeding but it's not um I I'm sure there is somebody and maybe uh past the

[20:57] 95 percentile that may be uh really taking advantage of that scenario but

[21:02] for the most part they they they are not they are within 3 to four miles 5 miles

[21:07] an hour over. Um to conclude my report I was going to go over the building

[21:13] department revenue as far as permits. um 2026 year-to date August is

[21:20] $465,1825.

[21:24] When you add the contractor revenue of another $83,830,

[21:30] uh it brings us to a total of $549,12.25.

[21:36] And in 2025,

[21:42] I think we had a total permits of,412 and running right now, we're at 809 and

[21:49] our numbers look good. >> As far as revenue, sorry.

[21:53] » Yeah, you're okay. >> Thank you.

[24:58] why it's not. Last year, we had the police department

[25:03] sitting in my driveway every day. And the one guy pulled 12

[25:09] people over in one day. It's because of that safety meeting I discussed and

[25:13] asked him. >> Kurt, trust me, please let him speak.

[25:16] » Okay. >> Well, anyways, I didn't know that. He

[25:19] told me that. He shared it with me. It was when you guys had the the guy who

[25:23] just retired recently. He wasn't sitting in my driveway. He was down the street

[25:28] the other way. This young kid just came inside my driveway. And and then he told

[25:33] me, "We got 12 people today." And I just looked right at him. I go, "You got 12

[25:38] people?" We go. Well, some people we let them go, but they were going 42. There's

[25:42] a 30. It's a 30. And all that needs to happen, you guys really, is there needs

[25:49] to be a 25 mph sign in between the 15 at the curve and the 30 at Chicago

[25:58] Bloomington. And just put a 20. You could put it in my yard because I'm dead

[26:02] center to the end. So, you know, I think that these people who are doing this,

[26:08] they don't even live here. They're cutting through. They're coming to

[26:13] Parker. They're cutting through and they're flying. And the other night, a

[26:17] kid was on a motorcycle. He was going 60 miles an hour. I watched them and then

[26:21] you watch him slow down, pull in his driveway, and then punch it and take

[26:25] off. And I'm going, I don't get it. But it's frustrating to all the neighbors

[26:31] because we all see it happen. And I understand this gentleman's plea and I

[26:35] know that that's how it is too. It can't be people speeding all the time. They're

[26:40] not >> 30 seconds.

[26:41] » But there's a lot of people speeding and and you guys are more than welcome to

[26:46] sit in my driveway if you just want to put a squad out there every so often.

[27:13] meeting and I asked Lieutenant Piaza when he put a patrol officer out there

[27:17] for that exact reason because speeding is still speeding regardless if it's 35

[27:22] or 42. >> Yeah. But you know what? When you're

[27:25] going two miles over the limit, it's different than when you're going 12, 15,

[27:30] 20 miles over. Just >> You're absolutely right. And I think

[27:33] that's why the officer mentioned that he had stopped 12 people and let a couple

[27:37] go. That's probably why >> there's a family down at the end of

[27:40] Parker towards the curse who's their cousins or something. They come over.

[27:46] Two little boys are both deaf and they drive their bikes. They ride their bikes

[27:50] right out on Parker. >> That's so dangerous. One day those kids

[27:54] can get hurt because people fly and they do. So just do whatever you guys can do

[29:24] crime trends. And I know there's been so much anti- uh ALPR or the big bad flock

[29:30] coming up. Uh just in the last 48 hours, a uh abducted child by his mentally uh

[29:39] um uh his uncle who was suffering some type

[29:43] of mental breakdown. Child was returned to his parents in 45 minutes. Um,

[29:49] three individuals uh that killed a 64 year old were apprehended by flock in a

[29:55] matter of hours and uh a road rage shooter that also um murdered someone in

[30:01] South Carolina was apprehended in a matter of hours. So, it's uh just

[30:05] stemming off of the the the trends in crime that are changing and they're not

[30:09] just, you know, somebody got stuck up and uh stole some money and they chased

[30:14] them. the way law enforcement's hands are tied these days due to

[30:22] different political views and whatnot. Um, any technology that is available is

[30:29] is an asset. Um, and the parameters are put in place to to weed out those that

[30:36] use it um not in the manner intended um are doing

[30:43] their job right now. So that's all. >> Thank you, Trusty Riners.

[30:52] shout out to our events department and to our EMS uh director Ron Cus uh for

[30:57] all the hard work and uh what they put into the parade on Saturday. Uh it takes

[31:05] takes all of us. It's it's a lot of meetings, a lot of hard work, a lot of

[31:09] organizing to put the parade on. So, we were very happy with the turnout. There

[31:14] were a lot of so many kids. I saw kids walking with bags of candy that were

[31:18] like this big. And I was like, "Oh my god, their dentists are not going to be

[31:21] real happy at the end of this." But, um, everybody came out. They had a great

[31:25] time. Everybody had fun. They had family fun days. Uh, we learned a few things

[31:29] from this parade. Uh, so maybe we'll make a few changes next year, but um, I

[31:34] just want to thank everybody. Everybody worked really hard to make that happen

[31:37] for the community, and that's what it's all about. It's all about our community.

[31:41] So, um, thank you to them. I would also like to mention that Gorm Park is, uh,

[31:46] nearing finish. Uh, we will probably be doing a ribbon cutting, uh, in the early

[31:50] part of October. So, look forward to, uh, that and, uh, keep, you know, keep

[31:55] yours posted. So, we'll probably be posting that on our social media site.

[31:59] Um, also, I would like to just, uh, talk a little bit about these ebikes. I just

[32:04] want to remind everybody that come January 1, the law changes. And I myself

[32:10] I I'm really looking forward to getting a little bit more uh order when it comes

[32:16] to these bikes. Um I was out at the parks this past week and the damage that

[32:21] was done uh to our poor and play. Our poor and play is the surface that we put

[32:27] down so that our handicap kids could have more accessibility to the amenities

[32:33] in our parks. Those surfaces cost $150,000.

[32:40] And these ebikes and dirt bikes, they tear them up. And it costs us probably

[32:47] on the average of anywhere between 6 and 10,000 just to patch it. So, I'm asking

[32:53] parents, please, if you're going to buy your kids these bikes, please teach them

[32:58] how to use them. Keep them off of our surfaces in the park. Nobody wants

[33:02] nobody wants to see them not having fun or riding their bikes. But those

[33:07] surfaces are really really important and a lot of people can't take their kids to

[33:12] the park if those surfaces are tore up. So I'm just asking please if you could

[33:17] just have a talk with your kids regarding that. Um also

[33:21] uh one last thing I wanted to talk about was um

[33:25] the the the senior expo on this Saturday. Um this is an event that we

[33:31] put on uh that the township and actually it's a collaboration between the

[33:34] township and the village and we put this on we've been doing it every year and we

[33:38] get a huge turnup and for anybody that's either new to the area that doesn't know

[33:43] about it. There's a lot of good information that comes from that expo.

[33:48] There's there's many vendors there that can help with uh different uh uh like

[33:54] agencies and and things like that. And so, um, I would encourage if you have

[33:58] any friends that are looking for, you know, different, uh, uh, ways to be able

[34:04] to, um, get help in their senior, you know, in their senior ages, that would

[34:08] be a great start. So, that's on Saturday. That's all my report.

[34:40] submitted by Illinois American Water for both sewer and water increases. Um,

[34:45] we're anticipating an order on or before October 23rd by the administrative law

[34:49] judge and the deadline for commission action on that order is December 18th.

[34:54] Now, between now and then, there uh is other issues that um our legal team will

[35:00] be uh handling. Uh there's reply briefs and there's also briefs on exceptions

[35:04] regarding the actual proposed order once we see it. But until that time, there's

[35:08] also a public forum. A public forum has been ordered uh by the administrative

[35:14] law judge and the commission. It's scheduled for September 16th, which is a

[35:20] little bit more than a week from today um at 7 p.m. and that's at uh located at

[35:25] 201 Canterbury Lane, Bowling Brook, Illinois. And my apologies, that is one

[35:30] week from today. Um you know, there's a tremendous opportunity for you, the

[35:33] public, to voice uh your position on the propo on the proposed sewer water uh

[35:38] increases. We as a village do hear uh your concerns. Uh this is an actual

[35:45] opportunity for you to take your concerns and your voice stand there.

[35:50] Members of the commission, we believe there will be at least one member of the

[35:53] commission. However, we're not 100% sure, but certainly uh the

[35:57] administrative law judge who ordered this uh hearing uh very likely is going

[36:00] to be there. and um you know it's your opportunity to just um voice your uh

[36:06] your concern regarding or whether or not you're you're for for it or against it,

[36:11] but certainly have your voice heard in regards to the proposed rate increase.

[36:15] Secondly, in docket number 251057, uh this was a matter involving Aqua

[36:20] Illinois uh Inc. uh Essential Utilities and American Waterworks Company, Inc. um

[36:25] that case uh the proposed order is set to issue on September 11th and we anti

[36:30] anticipate um ICC action on before November 5th of this year. Um I want to

[36:36] thank especially um the uh staff at the village for their assistance um and my

[36:41] team and assisting me and the folks that I work with and having our briefs of

[36:46] record in both those cases especially the deputy clerk um Gina Marott and her

[37:02] So, today um I had a meeting with the seniors at Victorian Village. The

[37:06] environment committee will be really happy to know that they really want to

[37:13] Shaller was there as well. Um and so was Trusty Holeshouser and Clerk Bilski. Um,

[37:19] and they were talking about different environmentfriendly events that they

[37:23] want to partner up with you on. So, that's really good news to hear. I did

[37:26] not know that they didn't have any uh recycle garbage cans and whatnot. So,

[37:31] Trusty Shallard offered to partner you guys up and you guys are going to have a

[37:34] busy few months. Um, I just recently became a grandma on September 3rd. So,

[37:40] I'm super excited about that. Um, but with that being said, the gentleman that

[37:45] came up here and spoke, I know someone apologized for his him for him being

[37:49] upset. I don't blame him for being upset. I would be upset, too. Uh,

[37:53] unfortunately, there were some a little bit of misinformation that was given,

[37:56] and I'm not going to sit up here and try to defend myself, but he rattled off

[38:01] some dates that he had emailed me, and I had emailed every single time in

[38:06] response. I have the dates here. I can go through the dates. Um, I also

[38:10] included Trusty Mason and Brent Woods and uh, Lieutenant Lieutenant Piaza in

[38:16] those emails as well. Um, during that time from June June 11th to July 30th,

[38:24] uh, if anybody remembers, we had four storms, four very severe storms. I'm

[38:29] only one person. So, I do have an amazing team here to help us run this

[38:33] village. And that's why Trusty M Mason was so passionate about this uh this

[38:38] report that was conducted. We do this we do this throughout the village. So

[38:42] there's a lot of areas within this village that everybody speeds on their

[38:46] streets. It's not just on Parker. It's not just in Meadowrest. I live on

[38:50] Hayawa. I can tell you that the cars speed up and down consistently. We only

[38:55] have so many traffic lights, those flashing lights that tell everybody how

[38:59] fast they're going. Because of this gentleman who came up who was very

[39:03] passionate, which I appreciate, um we are looking at purchasing two more of

[39:08] those lights. And they're not cheap. They're roughly $8 to $10,000 each.

[39:13] » 8500 to10,000 >> $8,500 to$10,000. So they're not cheap

[39:17] to buy. Um, but we when we put them somewhere, we have to leave them there

[39:21] for at least six months to get real studies, real numbers. And we can't just

[39:26] pick it up and take it from one area and move it to the next because we get

[39:29] another complaint. We have to do our full studies first. So, everybody in the

[39:33] village has speeders. I do understand that. Um, but we have to do this in a

[39:37] process. And when Trusty Mason was reading this off, this wasn't just a

[39:41] one-day report. Uh, this was actually the first contact was July or I'm sorry,

[39:46] June 11th. This was done immediately after. So as soon as I got the

[39:50] notification that there was some speeding, we had a study done

[39:52] immediately. The um the numbers, it shows you when it's the numbers on

[39:57] Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday. So it goes

[39:59] through the whole week and it tells you and it was done multiple times on

[40:02] different weeks as well. um through this process. He did state that I did not

[40:07] return his call on August or his email on August 20th, but that's because he

[40:12] just got home from vacation and I didn't have a moment to respond to him because

[40:16] he was gone as well. So, we played phone tag. I don't want anyone to think that I

[40:20] ever skip out on a resident. That's absolutely not me. If anybody tells you

[40:24] I'm too forward, I'm too I talk to too many residents. Mr. neighbor gets upset

[40:29] with me on the daily basis because I always say Joe, we got to help this

[40:32] resident next. Warm and fuzzy. I always say we got to

[40:36] give the warm and fuzzies to everyone. Um, but I will reach out to Mr. Young,

[40:41] Mr. D. Young. And I do know that our sheriff's office did sit in the

[40:44] driveways uh on two occasions, I believe, while this study or after this

[40:50] multiple times. I just know of two personally. Um, and a lot of people

[40:54] think I could just tell an officer where to go in in our form of government. You

[40:59] know, we we don't have our own police department. If we did, I'd be able to

[41:02] tell the sheriff, "This is what I not the sheriff, the lieutenants, this is

[41:05] where I want you to go or whatnot." I just don't have that sort of authority.

[41:10] Um, they do, they are stationed on different areas, especially with the

[41:14] kids going back to school. They have to be near the school and so forth. So, we

[41:18] are doing the best we can with the speeding. Um, you had you had mentioned

[41:23] that there's two deaf children. There are signs we can put out that say deaf

[41:27] child at play if that's not there already.

[42:16] great job trying to assist Mr. D. Young. I just think with the study that came

[42:21] out, it didn't show the numbers he was expecting to see. So, it doesn't warrant

[42:27] an emergency sign right away. But, I can let you know once we do have those signs

[42:32] in, once we approve them, it will go on that street. So, that's the we have that

[54:29] ordinance. I still feel that we are putting neighbor against neighbor to

[54:34] uh in order to uh find out what's going on in your neighbor's backyard. It's

[54:38] going to be your neighbor who's going to be kind of telling on you. I'm not a big

[54:41] fan of pulling permits to cut down trees. Um I think we are overburdensome

[1:12:33] the personal and equipment necessary for a normal public work public workers

[1:12:38] operation I can't talk either for public works operations. No municipality can

[1:12:44] reasonably maintain enough specialized equipment personnel and backup resources

[1:12:49] to independently handle every potential large-scale emergency. membership

[1:12:54] provides Homer Glenn with another layer of emergency preparedness without

[1:12:59] recruiting the village to purchase and requiring the village to purchase and

[1:13:03] maintain equipment that may only be needed during the time of emergency. And

[1:13:08] basically um when we had these four storms, if we were a member of this,

[1:13:13] there would have been people coming from other agencies to help us with this. So

[1:13:18] um they actually they the this agency actually stepped up in Manhattan and

[1:13:23] their trees 4 days the whole town was cleared in 4 days. So I think this is

[1:13:31] going to be a benefit to the village. Um I think the the uh membership is

[1:13:35] $250,000 I'm sorry $250 a year and um actually right now we would only pay

[1:13:42] like 130 because it's mid year so or towards the end of the year. So, it's
