[15:08] access to about 200,000 for the easements and acquiring them for the

[15:16] trail. And I know we talked um you'd be looking at a similar three-year

[15:24] thing, but it would be kind of a I'd come and report to you annually,

[15:29] let you know what the money had been used for, let you know where we're

[15:32] sitting financially, see if our budget's okay to continue to

[15:37] do it so that you're you're not sticking your neck out three years. You could

[15:42] look at it every year instead. So, there's a little more flexibility, maybe

[26:33] » Murray Bridge Dave is an oversized copy of the bridge

[26:40] inspection reports with

[26:45] pictures, notes, uh, etc. Um, I sent you guys an email

[26:52] with the a bridged version, but uh to summarize, Chuck Britson came

[27:00] on June 10th of this year to inspect Murray Bridge after the May 5th

[27:09] accident. Uh, their observations were similar to

[27:13] what we had all seen when we were out there visiting it. Uh the west rails

[27:18] were hit on uh both sides of the road. The south beam

[27:24] uh was twisted and failed. Uh multiple vertical members

[27:32] experienced uh hitting damage without tearing as well as hitting damage with

[27:39] tearing. Um

[27:42] there was seven vertical members that were hit and twisted. Uh an additional

[27:50] seven vertical members that were hit and showed bowing out away from the bridge.

[27:57] Um a total of eight vertical members that had

[28:03] uh significant damage to them. Um, I'm sorry, eight vertical members that

[28:09] showed damage with two showing significant damage. Uh, Chuck Britson's

[28:14] recommendation is that the bridge remains closed to all traffic. And their

[28:20] verbiage or their reasoning for that is according to Iowa when it comes to

[28:26] bridges, you can't load rate a bridge for less than three tons. and this

[28:31] bridge was already at three tons prior to the the hitting and damage that was

[28:38] done. Um they did say that uh repairs could possibly be done though

[28:49] looking at the amount of damage it would be significant repairs and some of the

[28:54] repairs that would need to be done. you would almost have to pick up the bridge,

[28:58] move it to dry land, do the repairs, and then move the bridge back out on

[29:03] to the peers, making it fiscally irresponsible for us to

[29:10] » Yeah. >> try and attempt

[29:12] » costwise would not be good. >> Yeah.

[29:16] » So, you said the eight that had either bent moved or are those the

[29:23] crisscross or those board on top? Those are the straight up and down vertical

[29:27] members. >> So there's eight of them and there's

[29:30] only one, two, three, four, five, six on each side. So eight of the 12

[29:36] » got hit. So um six of those had minor hits. Uh two of them were pretty

[29:45] substantial where they bowed out and twisted.

[29:56] » Sheriff's department has been looking into

[30:00] every reported name that's come out. Um, >> somebody will spill it someday. It'll

[30:07] come out someday. >> Yeah.

[30:15] » every time we hear a name, we pass it on to the sheriff's department and they

[30:21] look into it. I mean, I I I haven't turned in a

[30:26] certain guy that I know that runs a sign installation company that

[30:32] has a boom lift >> was reported in the area.

[30:40] » Bob and Are we gonna make sure that it's closed

[30:45] off well so people cannot go? >> Yeah. So it is it is closed off nice. I

[30:50] thought I mean I see that >> the day that we the day that we went uh

[30:56] out on site on the 5th. We had loads of rock delivered on both sides of the

[31:01] road, dumped on the road, and then we placed fence and and barricades

[31:06] uh just on the outside of those. The the public has been very respectful.

[31:18] very respectful at uh leaving those piles of rock and and the signs in

[31:23] place. Um, I do know quite a few people have gone out there and basically fished

[31:36] » It It's safe for for walking pedestrian traffic. Um my questions for the bridge

[31:44] inspectors last week when he turned in the report

[31:49] uh stem from uh more of a moving forward. You know,

[31:57] if if the recommendation is to leave closed, uh is this still considered a

[32:02] historic bridge with all the damage that's been done to it? um you know,

[32:10] conversations that we'd had in the past was possibly getting votes to pick the

[32:16] thing up and move it up trail. Is that still even feasible with the damage

[32:21] that's been done to it? >> Probably not.

[32:24] » He didn't know. >> Um my concern is on the rails part of

[32:29] it,

[32:32] if someone were to fall if they're liable for that. bridge is closed. They

[32:37] shouldn't be on it. >> Okay.

[32:49] uh during a construction project and and ends up damaging their vehicle. They're

[33:51] are due the end of this month, which is tomorrow. Um,

[33:56] » so that will let us know if we're in still in the game or if we've been

[34:01] » if we've been accepted. So,

[34:04] » end of June. >> End of June. So, usually the the

[34:10] announcement happens within two weeks after that. So,

[34:15] » and we're waiting back it out. >> Uh, I did reach out to them after this

[34:22] damage happened to let him know that the bridge was

[34:26] closed and for our application that was turned in

[34:30] in February, it was it was too late to >> add to it,

[34:34] » add to it. But if for some reason we don't get approved this time around,

[34:42] uh, we'd be able to add that factor to the next application.

[34:57] Um, the other thing I guess I can talk to you about uh is Senate File 378,

[35:05] which it is, uh, the speed limit change on hard surface roads. So, effective

[35:12] July 1, uh, all county paved roads

[35:20] will transition from 55 miles an hour to 60 miles an hour. Uh,

[35:28] we currently do not own any 55 mph signs. The only locations that you see

[35:35] 55 mph signs are city signs where they have passed resolutions to

[35:42] reduce the speed in town to anywhere from 25 to 45 m an hour. So the white

[35:49] and black speed limit 55 mph signs that you see as you're leaving town actually

[35:55] belong to the cities. Um, as of right now, I haven't heard from any of the

[36:00] cities making requests for

[36:06] uh the stickers that they're allowing uh counties and and states to install on

[36:14] the 55 mph signs. Um,

[36:18] » do we get them from the from the state at no I mean, I'm asking

[36:22] » it won't be no cost, but Okay. It would be um more than likely something that

[36:28] you would order from like Iowa Prison Industries.

[1:16:16] issues. um they got rid of their contractor so they're trying to do it on

[1:16:21] their own and and it's just a it's a rough start for them and there is a few

[1:16:24] out there that they need to address. Um decaterization was the last meeting was

[1:16:30] Wednesday. They don't uh no funding. Basically, it was the last meeting we're

[1:16:35] going to have for that. Thursday, I went out to DD62 on the bike trail where Cory

[1:16:41] had did that did that repair, looked at the the repair and the condition of the

[1:16:46] bike trail. And I just addressed it with with Todd.

[1:20:10] Humble County people that wouldn't have the funds to to uh or

[1:20:17] insurance to be picked up and hopefully that start them on their road to

[1:21:36] they it's just going gang busters for you know they haven't had a whole lot of

[1:21:41] rain um to mess things up and they're enclosing and so they've been doing

[1:21:47] pictures with the drone and and it's just mindboggling to see how fast it's

[1:21:54] coming together. So, and then uh Friday morning, my

[1:22:00] trip to Eldora was uh interesting. Um for the most

[1:22:07] part, we got through we had a um paperwork that will be coming for

[1:22:16] the 2080 agreements. Um, I reiterated or they're probably tired of me hearing or

[1:22:23] hearing from me saying that, you know, when the the counties that opted out, we

[1:22:28] got to make sure that when we get put this stuff puts back in our board to say

[1:22:35] that, I'm just using Humble County or Webster County, if they opted out of

[1:22:40] there and we have to vote to get them back in, we just need to have a template

[1:22:44] so that we all all do it the same every time so that we don't have somebody cuz

[1:22:51] this has 30-day window once um we approve them down there then it comes

[1:22:57] back to us we each will okay them coming back then it goes back to to Eldora then

[1:23:05] we have to get that to the state of Iowa so that it can be um recorded unlike it

[1:23:12] it wasn't before so uh other than that um The numbers are

[1:23:18] mind-boggling for the amount of kids that are down there. I don't they're

[1:23:23] running in the 30s. Um, usually when the weather warms up a little, things slow

[1:23:30] down, but we've been doing some out of state holding for uh some people

[1:23:36] [clears throat] or some state of South Dakota and I think

[1:23:40] they've even had a couple of Nebraska kids over there that they've u taken

[1:23:46] care of. So, um, other than that, we're, uh,

[1:23:54] trying to get a grip on our finances to make and Cassie and and, uh, those guys

[1:24:00] are doing an awesome job down there. So, everything looks good.

[1:24:08] We're leaving out there by noon. So anyway, that was it for the and then

[1:24:14] yesterday or last night I talked with Dave um

[1:24:19] Lee a minute trying to get a number for the um

[1:24:25] parade and the way it sounds we're going to I get a call um new co-op because we

[1:24:33] were going to use we're hoping to use new co-op's loading area to for the

[1:24:39] veterans so they don't have get up around First Avenue where all the

[1:24:43] congestion is and make make them have to walk. So, we thought if we

[1:24:48] park them down here, new co-op and then just go straight up First Avenue North,

[1:24:53] they'd be right to the parade route and then they could bring them back around.

[1:24:58] The way it looks, there's like Dave said it's in the

[1:25:03] 48 to 50 range, so we're hoping we can get them. They talked about putting a

[1:25:09] couple some picnic tables on the these trailers so that they can just set

[1:25:16] uh with picnic tables. Um I got to get a hold of Jimmy Kirkoff said he would get

[1:25:23] a couple of trucks. So um that was the

[1:25:28] the just of that. They're putting the flags up Thursday night at 5:00. They

[1:25:33] changed that because the kids I don't remember if it was baseball game or
