[0:49] We will go into public comment so we have anyone for public comment.
[0:56] The
[1:01] consent items we need a motion to approve the June 18th, 2026 board meeting and closed session minutes
[1:09] As well as the June 22nd, 2026, board meeting and closed session.
[1:15] Hi, Somo.
[1:16] We have a segment.
[1:17] On that note, the new hires are listed.
[1:20] Are we doing that as well?
[1:21] Yeah, I imagine we'll talk about that right after.
[1:24] Sorry, it's just a little bit more consent.
[1:25] I'm not approving consent. I don't want to make sure that we want to do it all together. Sorry.
[1:32] When you say you're approving consent, I observe everything.
[1:35] No, I took a minute.
[1:36] Then we need a few minutes.
[1:38] Oh, it was.
[1:39] Everybody, go ahead.
[1:41] Let's approve the minutes.
[1:42] Sorry.
[1:43] Okay.
[1:44] So we had a second.
[1:46] All in favor?
[1:47] Aye.
[1:48] Can you post?
[1:50] Okay.
[1:51] And then new hires.
[1:53] Sorry about that.
[1:54] We have the new hires are on the executive summary right at the top there.
[1:59] Nothing new, all replacing open positions and no one is related to anyone that walks in.
[2:08] Hi, motion to approve.
[2:10] Can you write?
[2:10] I will second.
[2:11] All in favor say aye.
[2:13] Aye.
[2:14] Any opposed?
[2:16] All right.
[2:16] Move through.
[2:18] We will move to reports.
[2:21] Director's report.
[2:22] Okay, I give you guys a little bit more.
[2:26] So this is the goals for 26-27 school year.
[2:32] We did things just a little bit differently this year.
[2:38] So you'll see the three posters.
[2:42] So the first thing we did is outline the vision for the school.
[2:46] And you'll see the five sections that we are focus on this year.
[2:50] and then each of the posters that you see for elementary and junior high tie into the district
[2:55] vision and goals. These posters will hang throughout the school. It is common language,
[3:02] so it's easy for staff to understand. Students should be understand, understand what they're working for,
[3:06] and then parents when they come in, no one understands what their kids are working for,
[3:10] and teachers will be tying this back to how parents can support at home.
[3:14] staff will be doing here. To do this, we spent the first week of June with
[3:22] Vincent and Aspen and then our leadership lab participants, which this year
[3:27] were compromised of all of the elementary team leads. Representatives from
[3:35] Stead, some of our instructors, Council leader, behavior representatives, and then
[3:40] some of the junior high department heads. So the first day we went through and just
[3:44] took a deep dive into our data that we've had here over here to see where things are and
[3:49] then use that data to go through and see maybe where there are things that we want to improve.
[3:55] The biggest thing that we noticed is a stagnation in ELA scores on end of your tests.
[4:01] It is also something the state has a big focus on increasing literacy.
[4:06] So that is where you will see the academic achievement goal.
[4:09] And then looking at teacher class and classroom class that came in, there was some common
[4:15] things that they asked for.
[4:17] A lot of that was being fair and knowing what the rules and things are and how everyone
[4:25] can feel like a part of the community.
[4:27] So each one of those, the goals are similar, language is different obviously because we're
[4:32] working with two different levels.
[4:34] So you will start to see those all around, and as you meet with teachers and staff, they will report everything back.
[4:42] The culture goal as part of the district goal is culture not only for students, but for staff as well.
[4:51] And then we've got an academic achievement goal.
[4:54] So again, it's literacy-focused PLA, and then each of our action steps.
[5:00] So there, 180-day plans will tie into the district
[5:03] underneath the plan.
[5:05] The district plan varies if there is support needed
[5:08] from outside the academic area.
[5:12] We have a sustainable work design goal.
[5:15] That goal, we noticed we had a wellness company last year
[5:18] and it was tied in with things that we wanted to do
[5:20] to help staff in the community be well.
[5:22] But it also had things wellness-wise that staff could do
[5:27] that we would help with professional development.
[5:28] And feedback we got from staff
[5:29] is those things seem to sometimes contradict each other.
[5:33] There are things that they need to do
[5:36] to be educators in the state of Utah
[5:38] and that doesn't always make them feel well.
[5:41] It's kind of a feast or family thing in education.
[5:43] So we split that up just a little bit
[5:46] and this goal will go towards creating
[5:49] a more sustainable environment for them,
[5:51] making sure I think we've talked to you guys
[5:53] a little bit about the educator wellness work
[5:57] that we've participated in with Aspen
[5:59] and what they are seeing is just educator wellness throughout the state is not great.
[6:04] And so making sure that we get the time and time and time of things right for them,
[6:08] and we're allowing them the opportunity to finish and work on things that we get them.
[6:12] So that is where this goal is given.
[6:14] We also want to focus on that because we've got a new curriculum in elementary for ELA.
[6:19] And that is a pretty big chunk of work for elementary educators.
[6:24] And then we are tweaking things in the junior high.
[6:27] still using common lives curriculum that they are putting things on to make
[6:33] sure tests are a little bit more rigorous and there's some more engagement. So
[6:36] those things are pretty heavy lifts for teachers and we want to make sure we
[6:40] avoid that burnout. Recruitment and retention, we've got a goal for 95% recruitment
[6:45] or sorry for attention for the staff and students. So that will mean we'll see
[6:49] different things on how we're doing not to track staff that we are recruiting
[6:53] levels of active achievement that they have or endorsements that they have, how long
[6:58] folks are staying, and kind of watching that sustainable work that I know when people
[7:02] are leaving. Are they leading to another school or education in general? Since COVID, it
[7:07] has been nearly a 50-50 split, but most who leave are leading education in general. As we
[7:13] will look at that a little bit more, and then a little bit more focus on student retention.
[7:18] We have numbers overall that we can look at, but we want to dive a little bit further into
[7:22] about this year, is it great specific, teachers specific,
[7:26] and where are we seeing some of those trends?
[7:28] And then we decided to add in a fiscal responsibility goal
[7:31] with the declining enrollment around the states
[7:33] because they're funded based on them.
[7:35] So everyone will see a little bit less money coming in.
[7:38] And so we want to make sure that we are creating things
[7:40] that are sustainable.
[7:42] And that staff also know what they're sending
[7:43] and what the budget is.
[7:44] So they're tracking that more in real time,
[7:46] rather than sending something and then asking for re-work
[7:49] to be announced, so be clear on what those processes will
[7:52] So we went through all of that in June.
[7:55] We've refined some of those things.
[7:57] There are some action steps
[7:58] that we will tweak a little bit as we go.
[8:01] We also work to create something
[8:04] instead of reviewing these monthly.
[8:06] We will review and space it all out
[8:09] based on once a month a week.
[8:11] So we will have at least a 30 minute review session
[8:13] every week.
[8:14] And then at the end of every month,
[8:16] either a Benson or Austin,
[8:17] we'll be here to kind of do a bigger deep dive.
[8:19] And then we'll have a two-day mid-year kind of review to see where we're at on things.
[8:24] Part of this goal as well will involve those leadership lab folks.
[8:28] That program went really, really well.
[8:29] So we're going to tear that.
[8:30] We will have a tier two and a tier one folks coming into the supply will do the same thing
[8:35] out to your folks.
[8:36] Two folks did last year and tier two will move more towards helping teach some of those things
[8:42] in creating systems with us and think them through that.
[8:45] So those are all things that we're kind of tracking and action stuff.
[8:48] and this is what will you, I will report on the district goals since the
[8:52] elementary and junior high goals funnel right back in to what the district goals are.
[8:56] So you will see that in terms of reports in the forward.
[9:01] I just, I just want to say that this is extremely thorough and I love the co-ocations.
[9:08] Yeah, it was nice to have the teachers and staff you've heard of and for them to see kind
[9:14] of where things are struggling, I think the most shocking for us was the MLL population
[9:19] that has grown exponentially over the last four years. And unless we're tracking that,
[9:26] that can have a big role in why ELA source are stagnant. So to see some of those things,
[9:33] Davis School District is also kind of focusing on that. That was one thing when we reached out
[9:36] in Silicon, Crystal and Heidi. They are creating a system around the value-winning MLL students
[9:42] and what that process will look like so you can make sure there are supports quicker for families that are running in.
[9:49] So we're interested to kind of say that as we have several teachers who kind of grasp on this and want to get certain endorsements so that they can help with your population.
[9:56] So I think we're most surprised by that one, how much it's grown and the tie-in that we're seeing for some of those things.
[10:04] I like even a number of people involved in making the whole school such as you.
[10:10] It increases by in, and even getting the students aware of the goals, that's amazing.
[10:16] I mean, oh yeah.
[10:18] We've seen some really great things.
[10:20] If you guys walk around, we've asked them all to create their own grade-specific goal.
[10:25] Third grade has created kind of a game at Candyland that they're doing, and they're really
[10:30] pushing the kids to go but they've got a big bulletin board kind of right
[10:34] there in the central location and all the kids will see how much they're reading
[10:38] and what they're doing so all of the kids know what their goal is, parents
[10:42] all know what the goal is, the staff all knows what the goal is and then they have
[10:45] a visual that they can see kind of how that's moving. I saw the kindergarten goal post
[10:50] and that was so cute. Absolutely. The rest of the work and you walk by
[10:55] I usually see some of those things that each of the cartons over here and the grade levels
[11:00] are doing and they should each have a board that the kids will have a visual of what they
[11:04] are seeing and how the grade is really fantastic.
[11:14] Just can I ask you a clear frame question is we talked about this is this doesn't make
[11:20] up the 180 tape line does it? This is, I think it's entirety of this world.
[11:25] This is the over-arting of this tape line. It's not all the action steps.
[11:30] I'm wondering if you can do that. Okay. There are about three separate spreadsheets. We have
[11:37] a 180 tape line for the old entry, junior night, and then we have the district at each.
[11:42] One of those have, the district goal has five tabs, and they probably have to
[11:46] and work from 20 to 50 action steps that are taken.
[11:50] It's not just administration,
[11:52] so that's part of what we did too is sitting down.
[11:54] The stuff that you'll see for culture
[11:56] really relies on our behavior and our empty team
[11:59] and the counseling team with the ISD.
[12:02] We'll do a lot of those things,
[12:04] but it's making sure that's going to be zip.
[12:05] And then the teacher is 180 day plans.
[12:08] So each teacher in grade has 180 day plans
[12:10] that rolls into this.
[12:11] So they've got to make sure that they're checking
[12:13] what state standards are, and then what schools are.
[12:19] And then these, the goals here,
[12:22] though, these all roll up to the higher,
[12:24] are two, ten or maybe the day.
[12:26] This is the higher change.
[12:28] It's one of the early times that it's going to happen.
[12:30] Yeah, cool.
[12:31] That makes sense.
[12:39] Pretty good.
[12:40] Thank you.
[12:41] Yeah, thanks, great.
[12:43] Yeah, Lou, budget report.
[12:46] I don't have one.
[12:48] Did you, I didn't know what we showed you.
[12:49] No, right now it's still a little too early
[12:52] to present. Of course, we're waiting for numbers from the state. We'll know our solid numbers
[13:02] in October. October 1. And then, but Granny and AW, everybody is working very closely
[13:13] looking at the budget and making sure that as part of the goals that we are being physically
[13:18] responsible and watching those things. The reason why there's no report this
[13:25] time is because we have some journal entries that we need to make. From this
[13:29] year to last year so they were accruals. We need to put them back. We're preparing
[13:34] for the audit. So really it would look so strange to see like 100% of our state
[13:42] funding is in. So really know what we are, no federal. It was federal, yeah. We
[13:47] I never really know that was 20, 20, six, six.
[13:50] It's cool here.
[13:53] Should I bring it to the next time?
[13:54] Hopefully.
[13:55] Yes.
[13:55] Yeah, next time.
[13:57] Because I have to have everything in the auditor's Monday.
[14:00] And then the everything has to be uploaded.
[14:04] Do you pass by the end of September?
[14:06] So we should be in great shape.
[14:08] There next board meeting.
[14:09] I can give you this software.
[14:11] So we'll meet before then?
[14:13] Yes, the finance.
[14:14] Yeah.
[14:20] the next item is to review our committee membership.
[14:24] I just wasn't here when you guys talked about this or so.
[14:29] I just need to make sure everyone is correct.
[14:34] You know who this is serving on the policy.
[14:37] I don't know if it's really about it.
[14:38] What are you talking about?
[14:40] I was told we're not going to give it no.
[14:44] So now we're going to talk about it in our website.
[14:47] That's what we're going to do.
[14:48] And then we have it not yet about committees.
[14:54] I don't think there's any changes at the moment.
[14:58] I mean, we need...
[15:00] Put on a communication committee now. There was a communication committee. I think you need to know what the purpose of that. I don't know that there is. It's a responding committee. I don't know what else that committee would be doing. Yeah. And that's exactly right.
[15:30] at least for right now, we just want someone because we can't talk as a group or we would be
[15:36] in a forum. So we want a smaller group to be able to respond to emails from the board
[15:45] in a timely manner. There's a certain amount of take, take, you know, a question around everybody
[15:50] you know. I think we need to keep it. Now is it, it could do more maybe in the future? Yeah,
[15:55] should do more. But at least, I don't know what that can do with you. That's fine.
[16:01] If all it does for now is help us respond to emails anytime. Yeah, I look at that.
[16:05] But some committees, like the school safety committee only, is there when it's needed?
[16:10] Do you know what I mean? And communications could be the same thing.
[16:12] So we've just outlined what we're doing with committees and how often the
[16:16] cadence of what they're meeting and who's running them. And so we're trying to
[16:19] figure out what we're going to be doing. And if there's a staff on there so that
[16:23] but we can ensure that nobody's getting too overloaded.
[16:28] Thank you.
[16:33] Thank you.
[16:33] So it's a good, right?
[16:34] No changes.
[16:35] Does anybody want to be on the policy meeting?
[16:37] Policy committee?
[16:41] Alicia, do you think there is going to be a problem?
[16:44] Okay, so I'm listed there, so.
[16:47] Oh, are you?
[16:48] I think so.
[16:50] Yeah.
[16:50] I don't know.
[16:52] Hi.
[16:52] Are you part of that committee?
[16:56] You want to be part of that committee?
[16:57] I can handle it or I can be back up but the last time we talk about it three and
[17:03] somebody could make it so that is all we've got these two that's yeah that's
[17:08] time we'll make it work sounds good so no changes okay on to voting and
[17:19] discussion items the first one is vote construction in place so the
[17:27] The basic bit was 103,000, they came in right a bit, however, there were some additional
[17:36] work changes that we wanted to bring to your attention because they ended up being another
[17:41] $19,000.
[17:45] So right there, yeah, the blue, the blue are the things that were different.
[17:51] And just as things kind of came up, Grant, you probably better explain the difference.
[17:59] So the electrical, when we got new furniture, the conference tables, now come with electrical
[18:06] in the middle.
[18:07] And so we had worked on the floors to put outlets underneath.
[18:13] That's awesome.
[18:14] And you were the best.
[18:15] And you went 18 people for four hours, there's a lot of boards and people get tripping.
[18:19] so we thought that was something that was worth it.
[18:22] The cabinetry ads, when the project was originally bid,
[18:25] they only bid cabinetry for the new front office section
[18:29] where the two receptionists set.
[18:31] When they ripped that back part out, the back wall
[18:34] where the hallway was was full of cabinetry,
[18:36] so all of that came out.
[18:38] And then when we sealed up the door,
[18:40] it allowed us to put three more cabinets in.
[18:43] So we had the cabinetry put them back in
[18:45] rather than disposing of that.
[18:47] and it also includes the other ones that we couldn't fit back in, putting them in
[18:51] areas that needed more chemistry. So we needed some storage in some of the art
[18:55] rooms, we had no storage in the music room, so that was adding that in the paint
[19:00] with two new offices. We're trying to get everything on the same color scene and
[19:06] building so that we only have you know one kind of tile and they're not kind of
[19:11] looking and the other problem with that building is because that was done so long ago
[19:15] but they don't even have the tile and carpet colors.
[19:18] So part of that is when they did the new ones,
[19:22] the doors and door frames were brown,
[19:25] and everything's going really good,
[19:27] and we bought new gray colors.
[19:28] So we just did all of the office doors the same color.
[19:31] We just kept that in the office.
[19:33] Our plan with that building is as we do renovations
[19:37] or move different things, that would just be a part of.
[19:41] We will need to start any,
[19:43] The health of our NSChange of code, so any time you make an upgrade now, they will require sinks in classrooms and that is a large project.
[19:52] For example, over in the 34th grade hall, we would have to rip up all of those floors to the bathrooms.
[19:59] So those are things that will slowly plan on doing to implement the requirement now is to put that in as we go.
[20:04] So those are things that will just start replacing floor as we do those projects, so it gets in.
[20:09] And then the lion, they had that in there as a boat, but no one really knew what that was
[20:19] going to take to get out.
[20:19] I don't know if you guys remember that, but when the playground was donated, I also donated
[20:24] a like six foot by six foot lion mosaic that is embedded in concrete.
[20:32] So when we moved it, it took like eight guys to get it down.
[20:36] So to hang that, we need to make sure.
[20:37] So it's still is actually building a frame so it can be secured on the wall to do it the right way and make sure we have something
[20:46] It's also been down for six years and it's outside for a while
[20:49] So there's some tiles falling we will never be able to match it so they are making a frame that will kind of go over the top of it
[20:55] That is also powder coated so that's where the extra cost came in there. I don't see a cost by that one
[21:01] There isn't yet. I think that yet. We've got a quote. They are working on that
[21:06] and it will be done and installed in September.
[21:09] So we have not paid that portion of the bill.
[21:12] I think in their budget, they allocated 2000
[21:15] and they're thinking it's gonna be four to five.
[21:17] Okay.
[21:18] So you've already up above 2000 has already been paid.
[21:23] So it might be another two to three.
[21:26] Okay.
[21:27] So the 19 does not include that additional two to three
[21:30] but it does include the first 2000.
[21:33] They're gonna try not to rent a lift
[21:36] But my guess is who will be rent to the West because it's very empty.
[21:42] Where is the sweep?
[21:43] It's right as you walk in in the elementary doors, right?
[21:46] It will be so cool.
[21:47] Tell them to get a fork with it.
[21:48] We have...
[21:49] It's been sitting for six years because people that come and look are like...
[21:53] Herk and I have literally been trying to find people for six years.
[21:57] For a while.
[21:57] Yeah, it's very heavy.
[21:59] My husband had to get like eight people from his work to having pet it off the wall.
[22:03] They always come down and you know he was like I'm not touching this for against it's really
[22:08] heavy but it is really pretty and so part of you know that cost you a thin cleaning up a little bit
[22:13] because it didn't sit outside for a couple years and it needed to be cleaned and cleaned and cleaned.
[22:19] It's awesome. Do you need any approval on that?
[22:22] Well that's we went over for this includes all but the overage it was kind of not clear when we
[22:26] talked about this in the executive committee meeting that there was a conversation in the board meeting
[22:31] to do the 103 plus a 10% contingency but also that they hadn't added an contingency.
[22:38] We felt like it was not their contingency plus our contingency so it was unclear so that's
[22:43] why we wanted to bring it is just this is the total and we probably should regroup because
[22:48] there was a lack of clarity on what that looked like.
[22:52] So have they done something on the line really quickly since it is part of the original at
[22:58] some of it is $2,000.
[23:01] Is that, do they use something on it or is that going to take it out or cleaning in the frame and then whatever it takes to hang it, they have a plan but it's possible
[23:10] that they won't need additional steel and inquiry into the wall.
[23:14] They were here last week kind of looking at some of that.
[23:18] So they quoted us up to five to go on the page.
[23:22] So there's a time to let you go up to the last one.
[23:26] So the original bid was 103,000, would 10%, that would have given you another 10,000, but this is really 19,000.
[23:37] Yeah, that's what I was asking.
[23:38] We want to go up to about 25 to give room.
[23:42] Approved 100 and 25.
[23:44] Yeah, from 100 go to 25.
[23:47] From 103.
[23:48] 103, so the last everything is bill other than the line music. I said I'm not paying for that until we're done
[23:57] So we have everything in here, but the line
[24:05] Some of what we talked about with like the paint is we could have waited that they were out here
[24:14] So we're like we might as well just do it
[24:18] So, I'll second.
[24:20] All in favor say aye.
[24:21] Aye.
[24:22] Any opposed?
[24:24] All right.
[24:24] Okay.
[24:25] We'll move to the instruction voice.
[24:26] Move through.
[24:27] LEA specific licenses.
[24:30] Yep, so we have three teachers that are renewing
[24:33] LEA specific licenses.
[24:36] One of them, so Melissa is on here.
[24:39] Melissa is almost finished with the,
[24:42] the instruction needs to do for the associate license.
[24:44] There is a chance her associate license will be ready
[24:46] before the October deadline. We just don't want to take that chance, if not, and
[24:51] she's online since then classes are unfunded. So the LA-specific license will be in place
[24:56] for her until the state approves. We got an email today that says they have
[25:00] application but approval to take four to six weeks which puts us right at the
[25:05] deadline. So once she gets her associate license, the LA will fall off. McKenzie is
[25:10] the same way. Hers she will probably not through this year and then her associate
[25:15] license with the endorsement she's Mackenzie is license for Kate eight. She's
[25:21] and the secondary ELA endorsement so that's what Mackenzie's working on. Slated to
[25:25] be finished by two later than June 2027 and then some things have changed with
[25:31] Fred so Fred's always had an LA specific license because he could just dance. The
[25:37] state now requires to have a permanent license and LA specific license is just
[25:41] supposed to be a temporary license that you're using to get an associate license or something
[25:46] of that. So this gives him three years to start working on that. The state will let you
[25:51] reapply, but in talking to age are they only see that more than like two or three times.
[25:55] So we've met, he's kind of working on a plan to get a permanent licensure and then lead
[26:01] to endorsement.
[26:02] That's awesome.
[26:03] I didn't know they had a cancer endorsement.
[26:05] You got that now.
[26:06] So Fred used to just apply for this ELA or at the L.A.
[26:12] He's submitted a portfolio and your portfolio is like references and qualifications
[26:15] from dance and everything that he's done.
[26:18] He doesn't need that anymore. He needs to do all the other things that every other
[26:21] is. So we've got a plan for that and then he also knows that there is an option
[26:26] to apply for title to funds, which is like scholarship funds.
[26:30] So the other two are near incompletion. Fred will just be starting.
[26:33] That's awesome.
[26:34] And Melissa will get her ethics check.
[26:36] That's the only one there.
[26:37] Yeah, she did all of that today.
[26:39] There was some confusion.
[26:41] For it with her, they have said Apple is a program she's
[26:45] working through.
[26:46] And they were like, no, your license hasn't expired.
[26:47] But her one of the great orcents did.
[26:50] It was the EOA, which makes her LEA system of license
[26:53] into the new.
[26:54] So the little bit, the system that reports this is cactus.
[26:58] And they migrated to a new system this year, so it's
[27:02] in the new funders.
[27:05] The more things, yeah, change.
[27:07] So they're already go, we will submit that
[27:09] and then once we listen, the movie gets theirs
[27:11] if they would just move to an associate license.
[27:17] No more questions?
[27:18] We have a motion to approve the LA specific license.
[27:23] Hi, so Moop, ask presented.
[27:26] In a second?
[27:27] All second.
[27:28] Hall of the paper say aye.
[27:29] Aye.
[27:30] Any opposed?
[27:32] OK, that goes through.
[27:34] Next is the amended T.S. as a framework.
[27:37] Yeah, so you guys are just approving the framework.
[27:40] It's the same plan that you guys have approved in 30 years with one small edit to ensure
[27:45] that the literacy of China for requirements in our plan.
[27:48] So that is the team's annual edit that you see, and that includes WebFD 41 in the state
[27:55] role that we have to address progress towards the state literacy to efficiency goals.
[27:59] And if we don't need that within that time frame, then 50% of the SA companies need to be
[28:05] allocated to it.
[28:09] What kind of impact it, we don't need it, what does that impact?
[28:15] No, you'll still get the funding, but instead of us bracing it down kind of how we plan,
[28:19] they will make you do what they need to do for some auxiliary seed.
[28:23] I mean, this isn't a huge part of the budget.
[28:28] Is it like a hundred and it's a hundred?
[28:33] So not a lot in the grand scheme of things, although we are grateful for it, and we have
[28:39] a great plan.
[28:41] Most of the class size reduction is in those lower elementary that teach the breakouts,
[28:47] and so it's pretty much an alignment with this anyway, but it may have to be more literacy
[28:51] than if they did a math breakout, but it wouldn't, this change would not affect us a whole lot.
[28:57] This is kind of what we do. It's just making sure our framework says that this is something
[29:01] we're doing.
[29:04] Plan's not do again.
[29:06] I don't know what that is, but let's mistake someone or something.
[29:09] We'll fix that.
[29:10] The 53G.
[29:11] Yeah.
[29:12] Unless this bill goes to $920,000 or $3,000 or $4,000.
[29:17] I don't know what it is, but we just fix that.
[29:21] Could be.
[29:22] Could be.
[29:24] Yes, sir.
[29:25] Oh, I think what it is is it's take out the 9-2, it's just 304.
[29:29] Okay.
[29:31] I'll have the other one's checked, too.
[29:33] Thank you.
[29:35] Awesome.
[29:36] Any other questions?
[29:39] I need a motion to improve.
[29:41] Now, how much would I improve this?
[29:43] Awesome.
[29:45] Okay, in a second.
[29:47] I'll second.
[29:48] All in favor say hi.
[29:50] Hi.
[29:51] In your post.
[29:53] Okay, we will move now to our amended policies and I think so this is just changing.
[30:00] The capitalization limit to $10,000, which is a state thing. It's actually in Gaspi, our governmental standards accounting board recommended $10,000. So what it is now.
[30:12] Yeah.
[30:12] Good job. We should keep going.
[30:17] The policies that are also included in your executive.
[30:19] Yeah, they are. All of these were updates.
[30:23] We're hired.
[30:26] John and I went through these. I went from for an hour and then we met for an hour or so.
[30:32] So John had this one. The question was, thank you, committee.
[30:37] I love the committee. I love them.
[30:40] You guys really haven't been to a good meeting.
[30:45] That's very true.
[30:46] And I know, Dave, you've been missing the finance meeting.
[30:49] Oh, that's so much fun.
[30:53] Okay.
[30:57] Any questions on these?
[31:00] I would just say for the committee,
[31:02] just so you know, John and I are always saying,
[31:04] how does this court plan against these questions all the time?
[31:08] Is this just state, like, if we make sure that whatever is decided is
[31:13] according to this state, and we don't make anything extra?
[31:16] Yeah.
[31:16] Yeah, yeah, we're not putting our views on this.
[31:19] You're on it.
[31:19] We just say, what's the state required?
[31:22] Let's make better policy.
[31:23] Yeah.
[31:25] Yeah.
[31:29] Come up with some good questions on your reviews.
[31:32] That's good.
[31:34] I can tell you, Regent.
[31:36] All right.
[31:40] Okay, can we approve these all in one go?
[31:43] Yeah, we can.
[31:44] We need a motion to approve the amended policies.
[31:47] I will motion to approve the policies I've presented.
[31:50] All right.
[31:50] All right.
[31:51] All right.
[31:52] All right.
[31:53] All right.
[31:53] All right.
[31:54] Any opposed?
[31:56] Okay.
[31:57] The amendment policies move forward.
[32:01] And I think that's it for all of our voting and discussion items.
[32:05] And we need to be closed.
[32:07] We do.
[32:08] Okay.
[32:09] So we will move into a closed session.
[32:13] We need a motion to enter a closed session to discuss the character professional conversation.
[32:19] Thank you.
[32:20] This was the shortest one, you wanted to join in, thank you.
[32:27] Okay, we need a motion to enter a closed session to discuss the character, professional
[32:31] comments, your physical or mental health of an individual, to be held at Legacy Preparation
[32:35] Academy.
[32:38] I so am going to close this question this per second.
[32:42] And you need a second?
[32:44] I'll second.
[32:45] Third.
[32:47] And we need a role call for.
[33:05] We need a motion to adjourn our closed session. It is 807 so said I motion all in favor say I?
[33:15] Aye. Aye. Any opposed?
[33:19] Okay. We're moving into open section. Yes.
[33:27] We are moving to our
[33:30] calendaring. Our next board meeting is scheduled for October 22nd, 26th. I want to look at
[33:37] Scheduling a war between so what are the abilities that they started six. I actually won't be here. I'll be in Florida on the
[33:50] 20th or 20th. On the 22nd. No one else.
[33:56] I October is usually is it usually full a full board meeting? Yeah, usually it can lead to
[34:04] depends I anticipate it be a similar agenda tonight with another batch of
[34:08] policies and I will say that we are always do that we either put it right
[34:18] to do that for us. Do we know why? Do we want to adjust and then do you have a binoculars?
[34:27] What are your thoughts, Randy? If we move...
[34:29] Farbrace, ready for it. Sorry.
[34:34] Our next board meeting is scheduled for October 22nd.
[34:38] But that's the day before the fall festival.
[34:41] Which is fine. We can take the...
[34:43] It's a bottom work.
[34:44] It's a lot. Don't make a decision. Yeah, so we have a thought about moving it to either.
[34:55] Can you move it at 29? Go 60 to 10 p.m. and call our retreat.
[35:02] Get month or dinner at 6 p.m.
[35:05] Even, I mean, you can even do 5.30. So we still have time to do our 4.10.
[35:10] Is there anything that's due to the state in October that will be required to re-
[35:16] No, LEA licenses are due October 1st, but we've done those tonight, so yeah, nope.
[35:21] Thank you.
[35:22] If we manage our time with the day, we'll be fine.
[35:25] Okay.
[35:25] I'm going to save you guys there.
[35:28] With that word for your sketchful friendy, would that be okay?
[35:36] Thank you.
[35:40] If this isn't okay time, I also wanted to let your board know Matt Mortensen, who's the president
[35:44] at AWO.
[35:45] He just led a board on the last board retreat they had in the spring.
[35:50] He led them through, like, a strategic planning, like, SWOT type analysis.
[35:55] He called it something different, and I'd have to look and see what it is.
[35:58] But he wanted me to let you know if you're interested in something like that, combined
[36:02] with your board or treat, he could meet with one or two of your board members and kind of
[36:06] get some ideas about what you'd like to see in that.
[36:09] But that board really liked it, and then they had, like, a one-page summary in it.
[36:13] He kind of was able to lead, he used to be a professor at Weber State, so he was able to
[36:18] leave them through that exercise and they found it really beneficial. So he
[36:22] wanted me to offer that up to you.
[36:24] Yeah, we can do that. I think October is good too because I hope we do assign all
[36:29] of you a topic to bring as well. So cool.
[36:34] That was great.
[36:37] Okay, so we have the hardest topic.
[36:38] We're checking the AI.
[36:42] It looks good.
[36:49] Awesome.
[36:50] Can I motion to adjourn our board meeting?
[36:53] Six to ten.
[36:55] Or do we want to start at six?
[36:58] Or even could we do five thirty?
[37:02] If we're starting dinner.
[37:06] If you want, I'll start at six.
[37:11] I need just a snitch to see if you guys can just give me a small settle.
[37:18] So then our next board meeting will be October 29th.
[37:22] Instead of the 22nd.
[37:25] Okay.
[37:27] Okay.
[37:28] So we're going to have a.
[37:30] Yeah.
[37:30] We're going to have one.
[37:33] Magic.
[37:34] Your calendar.
[37:35] Mr. Anderson, don't say this.
[37:37] Okay, David.
[37:40] I motion to adjourn.
[37:42] A second.
[37:43] Wait.
[37:43] Oh, no.
[37:45] All in favor say aye.
[37:46] Aye.
[37:47] Any opposed?
[37:48] It is now 8-12.
[37:50] Board meeting is adjourned.
